There were several Hardcore Championship changes as Crash Holly defended the Hardcore Title against Test. Test was able to regain the WWF Hardcore Title again, but the Big Bossman stopped him and won the Hardcore Title until it was taken by Val Venis and then it was taken by Mark Henry, and then Gangrel, and also Mae Young, and Luna Vachon, and Crash Holly again until it was taken by Tazz who gained his second WWF Singles Title.

But then Kane re emerged from the Casket and destroyed the Mean Street Posse and then sent them into the casket. Kane then grabbed Tori and got his revenge by tombstoning her to the mat. Kane may had lost the Casket Match, but he got his revenge on Tori, but the war between him and X-Pac wasn't over until Kane said it was!.
Cactus Jack continued his WrestleMania dream by defeating The Big Show and retaining his #1 Contendership Spot in a No Disqualifaction Match.
And the stage was surely set for WrestleMania 16 as Triple H retained the WWF Championship against Owen Hart with help from The Radicals.

THE ROCK CALLS OUT MICHAELS FOR WRESTLEMANIA 16 SHOWDOWN March 6. 2000
On RAW. The Rock called out Shawn Michaels with Michaels making his way to the ring. Michaels explained why he cost The Rock the WWF Championship is because he didn't want people like The Rock to steal his best friend Triple H's spotlight. That spotlight turned to Triple H a year ago when he was the man that won the 1999 King of The Ring and became the WWF Champion and also married the Boss's daughter, and that people like The Rock have always tried to steal his spotlight. He took the Intercontinental Title from him. He won the 1998 King of The Ring, he won the 1999 Royal Rumble and he won the WWF Title at WrestleMania in the main event which should've been Triple H's spot to begin with. Michaels said that people like The Rock came to steal the spotlight from every legend that came to the WWF including yours truly, The Heartbreak Kid. Michaels said that in the 1990s. WrestleMania was his playground because he faced off with guys like Razor Ramon, Bret Hart, Sycho Sid & Stone Cold Steve Austin until The Rock came over and wanted to be a main eventer himself. The Rock responded that seeing as Shawn Michaels talked about WrestleMania so much. And now that The Rock doesn't have a match at WrestleMania 16. How bout The Heartbreak Kid steps in the ring at WrestleMania and if he so proves that WrestleMania is his playground, then Michaels must step in the ring and go one on one with The Great One. Michaels said that he accepted The Rock's challenge because the match at WrestleMania 16 is going to be in the very same place where he kicked Bret Hart's teeth down his throat four years ago and became the WWF Champion. This time, he's going to make sure The Rock goes back in the mid-card or the low-card when he kicks the People's Eyebrow down his throat. The Rock said that he's going to take Michaels's Sweet Chin Music. Turn that sumbitch sideways and stick it straight up Michaels's ass because there's no way and The Rock means no way that Michaels will kick The Rock's teeth down his throat just like he did on SMACKDOWN. The Rock said that he was going to lay the SMACKDOWN on Michaels's candy ass at WrestleMania 16.

BIG SHOW CHALLENGES HULK HOGAN TO A MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA 16 March 9. 2000
Hulk Hogan made his return to SMACKDOWN and wanted a match at WrestleMania 16 because last year was his WrestleMania return and he lost center in the ring to The Rock, no excuses. But he wants to have a match at WrestleMania 16. Then Big Show's music hit as he came out. The Big Show called out Hogan telling him that his time was passing by and that Hogan should just retire while he's ahead. He's already won the WWF Championship ten times. And let's not forget the last time they faced off in a ring together was somewhere where the big boys played and he kicked Hogan's ass and took that organization's Championship. And now that Hogan's in the WWF Ring. He wants to be the one that faces Hogan at WrestleMania. And he wants to be the one that upsets the WWF fans by defeating Hulk Hogan. Hogan said that he's welcome to accept The Big Show's challenge and he's going to be the one that knocks The Big Show down. Show then grabbed Hogan by the throat and chokeslammed him to the mat with Show ending it saying "See you at WrestleMania brother!"

Hulkamania would prove that WrestleMania 16 was still his playground as he defeated the World's Largest Athlete The Big Show!.
WrestleMania 16 also had a first in WWF History. A Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match for the WWF Tag Team Championship.
Both of these three teams wanted to win it all in this epic showdown.
There was Tables, Ladders & Broken Bodies along the way in this match.
Even Jeff Hardy's epic swanton bomb dive off the ladder to Bubba Ray Dudley.
But Edge and Christian were able to retain the WWF Tag Team Titles.
Pete Rose came to WrestleMania to try to get his revenge on Kane, but his revenge plot foiled as Kane chokeslammed Pete Rose after Kane had put his feud to bed with X-Pac!.
Chris Benoit regained the Intercontinental Title in a 4-Way Match which featured Kurt Angle's titles both on the line. However, Angle remained the European Champion in the second fall.
The Dream Match finally happened at WrestleMania 16 with Michaels taking on The Rock.
The two had a legendary back and forth confrontation.
The Rock almost had the match won by hitting the Rock Bottom on the announce table but Michaels kicked out of it.
Michaels said as he promised, kick The Rock's teeth down his throat but The Rock however kicked out.
The Rock finally ended the match by hitting the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow to get the victory.
It was do or die for Mick Foley. He had main evented WrestleMania once it was last year and he failed to win the match, but he would make sure lightning wouldn't strike twice as he battled Triple H inside the Hell in A Cell that almost took his career 2 years ago.
Triple H and Cactus both pulled out all the stops in this big contest.
The Thumbtacks were even used in this match with Cactus going through the tacks. But he still survived.
Cactus almost put down Triple H with a double arm DDT but still The Game kicked out.
Both men made their way to the cell with Triple H trying to knock down Cactus Jack off the cell.
Cactus got thrown off the cell through the Announce Table but he was able to climb in where the two battled for the richest prize in the game.
Cactus got backdropped off the top of the cell breaking the cell roof and the ring.
But Cactus suddenly rose to his feet slowly and hit The Game with the 2X4 Barbedwire.
But then Vince McMahon who made his return for the first time since December of 1999 along with Shane McMahon came out and they both attacked Cactus Jack meaning that both of them were allied with Triple H all this time.
The Rock came out to attempt to make the save but he was jumped by D-Generation X on the outside, when The McMahons and Triple H tried to put Cactus Jack away. Suddenly.
A Monster Truck arrived in the building, the man in the Monster Truck was revealed to be Stone Cold Steve Austin as he destroyed a limousine that was assumingly Vince & Shane McMahon's limousine.
After getting off the monster truck. Stone Cold arrived to the ring with a Steel Chair in hand cleaning house on D-Generation X and the McMahons.
Stephanie tried to get in Austin's way but she too was Stone Cold Stunnered. Austin had left carnage inside the Hell in A Cell. Both Cactus & Triple H stood to their feet. Then suddenly Cactus Jack morphed into Mankind. And then Cactus delivered the Mandible Claw to Triple H and we had a new WWF Champion!.
Mick Foley realized his WrestleMania Dream and walked out of WrestleMania 16 as the new WWF Champion. Stone Cold Steve Austin came out with beers to congratulate Mick Foley with The Rock!.
