Hello reader,
I have an idea, albeit a late one that, to add some more aussie flavour towards the upcoming elimination chamber PPV. This was inspired after watching the latest Raw on February 05, 2024. This is a cricket concept, but I have adapted it for pro wrestling purposes. Please note I have replaced the term "run" with "point" in this thread.
I will use the men as an example. However this could be applied to the women's side as well.
Proposal:
On the next Raw, Drew McIntyre challenges Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber. Cody's WM title shot is not on the line. Drew McIntyre wants to prove that he is the superior superstar.
However, the Government of Western Australia interrupt proceedings on the titantron. The spokesperson says that Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre is a dream match the Australian Public would like to witness.
He/She explains that his/her government will endorse the match for Elimination Chamber provided the match is contested under our rules..... if you want to play in our backyard, you play by our rules- ultimatum.
"Cody Rhodes is a fan favourite in our country", he/ she says. So Drew McIntyre, you will face Cody Rhodes in Perth. You will also have to partner up with............ Shinsuke Nakamura.
Match rules: Cody Rhodes vs Drew McIntyre & Shinsuke Nakamura
- Cody Rhodes always wrestles either McIntyre or Nakamura, not both.
- There are 2 "X" markings on the ring canvas. They are located at the two diagonal corners as per a traditional tag match. Nakamura/ McIntyre must always begin their offense from their "X" marking. Nakamura/ McIntyre always initiate the play.
Cody Rhodes is allowed to step towards to the middle of the ring as long as he remains facing his opponent. Please note the "X marks" can be set up to allow for the best camera angles as well.
- Cody Rhodes wins by accruing enough "points" so as to unsettle his opponent. Points can be gained through executing successful offense on the opponent. Points range from 1 to 6 points.
The better the maneuver, the higher number of points Cody scores. If Cody scores 1, 3 or 5 points, play is suspended. The referee has the final say on how many points Cody scored in any one phase of play.
- McIntyre & Nakamura win by taking out Cody Rhodes. No second chances. Once Rhodes is out, he's OUT OF here. McIntyre/ Nakamura have up to 6 attempts at a time to do this. If McIntyre/ Nakamura make a sloppy attempt, the play is not counted and must be redone.
- Any Superstar can go for a pin or submission at any time. However this does not necessarily indicate the end of the match. The referee has the final say over whether there are points scored or whether Cody is out.
Example: The show starts from 6 p.m.
- 6p.m. Commentary team, Logan Paul & KSI can welcome us to the show.
- 6:05 p.m. First Over: Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura.
Play 1: Nakamura to Rhodes- Arm twist by Rhodes to Nakamura- No points. Superstars go back to their respective "X" markings
Play 2: Nakamura to Rhodes- Rhodes evades Nakamura- No points.
Play 3: Nakamura to Rhodes- Rhodes "blocks" Nakamura- No points.
Play 4: Nakamura to Rhodes- Rhodes performs a headlock takeover- 1 point.
Play is suspended at 6:08 p.m.
Ad/ filler.
Drew McIntyre is introduced into the attack.
- 6:12 p.m. Second Over: Cody Rhodes vs Drew McIntyre
Play 1: McIntyre to Rhodes: Rhodes evades an aggressive McIntyre- No points.
Play 2: McIntyre to Rhodes- Rhodes "shoulders arms"- No points.
Play 3: McIntyre to Rhodes- Rhodes "shoulders arms"- No points.
Play 4: McIntyre to Rhodes- Rhodes "shoulders arms"- No points.
Play 5: McIntyre to Rhodes- McIntyre "beats the edge"; "no nick" by Rhodes- No points.
Play 6: McIntyre to Rhodes- Rhodes and McIntyre "grapple to a deadlock"- No points.
End of Second over at 6:20 p.m.
Next up: Womens Elimination Chamber match:
My pick: Becky Lynch
You could do a backstage promo either Rhodes, Nakamura &/or Drew McIntyre. McIntyre could gloat that he is dominating Rhodes. Rhodes can counter with well, I'm hanging in there. Meanwhile, Nakamura aims to do better on his next showing.
An official informs McIntyre that his work with Cody is done for tonight. He will be a part of the Men's Elimination Chamber Match later tonight.
7:15 p.m. Final Over: Cody Rhodes (Energy level: 10%) vs Shinsuke Nakamura (Energy level:95 %): Rhodes needs one more point to win:
Play 1: Nakamura to Rhodes: Rhodes whacks Nakamura with a combo of punches and kicks, but scores no points.
Play 2: Nakamura to Rhodes: Rhodes outmaneuvers Nakamura and the melee is on..... back and forth they go...... Cody Rhodes throws Nakamura over the top rope, 4 points.
FINISH HIM!.... Cody Rhodes annihilates Nakamura with a "Cross Rhodes" on the outside.
Your winner: Cody Rhodes.
Post match celebrations.
