Tony: Welcome everyone to StarrCade 1993!! We are live on PPV from the Greensboro Coliseum in front of a sold out crowd of 23000 WCW fans. Hello, everybody I'm Tony Schivone alongside Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and our WCW Monday Nitro partner Eric Bischoff. Let's not keep you waiting any longer, let's get right to the action with crowning the inaugural WCW Cruiserweight Champion!

Utimo Dragon and Eddie Guerrero make their way to the ring, and then the high-flying action begins with a plancha to the outside from Utimo during Eddie's entrance. Both men go back and forth for a while with counters and moves that WCW fans haven't seen the likes of in their lives. In the end, Utimo dragon got his knees up for Eddie's signature Frog Splash and pinned him on the crash and burn for the win.
In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Ultimo Dragon defeated Eddie Guerrero in 14:54 by pinfall. Ultimo Dragon wins the WCW Cruiserweight title.

Regal and Steamboat tore the house down in their match with their technical prowess and put on a barnburner of a match. the match was so good that it went over the 10 minute timer because the announcer gave up on saying how much time was left and was enjoying the match like the rest of the fans. But, Regal strapped on the regal Stretch, forcing the tap out victory and retaing his TV Title.
In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Lord Steven Regal defeated Ricky Steamboat in 20:20 by submission with a Regal Stretch. Lord Steven Regal makes defence number 8 of his WCW World Television title.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Harlem Heat defeated Shaun Simpson & Steve Simpson, The Thrillseekers and Thunder And Lightning in 17:54; the order of elimination was The Thrillseekers first, then Shaun Simpson & Steve Simpson, and finally Thunder And Lightning.

Dustin Rhodes came out like a house on fire against Austin, Austin tried his best, but the US champ was just too much for him, Dustin got the first fall after 19 minutes of wrestling, Austin was about to tie it up, but then a hooded figure hopped the railing and crotched Austin on the top rope, Dustin took advantage with hit his Bulldog for the second fall and the victory.
In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Dustin Rhodes defeated Steve Austin in a Two Out Of Three Falls match in 26:43 by two straight falls, with the final fall happening by pinfall with a Bulldog. Dustin Rhodes makes defence number 5 of his WCW United States title.

this match was a tense one, but Rude took advantage of a downed referee and decked Sting in the face with the title and pinned him 1, 2, 3.
In an exceptional match, Rick Rude defeated Sting in 29:18 by pinfall after using a foreign object. Rick Rude makes defence number 5 of his WCW International World Heavyweight title.

Not much to say about this match but it was Michael Hayes last night in WCW as his contract expired at the stroke of midnight. So he did the honors and took the pinfall loss and put over Jonny B. Badd.
In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Johnny B. Badd and The Cole Twins defeated Michael Hayes and Shanghai Pierce & Tex Slazenger in 13:41 when Johnny B. Badd defeated Michael Hayes by pinfall with a Merosault.

The main event. Career vs Title. Who will come out on top?
Both men lock up, Vader uses his brute strength to get an early advantage. Flair, stuck in a side headlock pushes Vader to the ropes and sends him to running to the other side, but Vader immediately comes back with a body block and brings Flair down in an instant. after a few minutes of completely dominating the match, Vader runs the ropes to body block Flair one more time, but Flair ducks down and gives him a chop block to the left knee. Flair then works on the left knee to set up the Figure 4 Leglock. Flair works on Vader's knee a bit more, until Vader finally gets the momentum back and sets him up for a Powerbomb, and plants Flair with it.

NOO! Flair kicks out!!
Vader drags Flair to the corner, and goes up for the Vader Bomb splash, but Flair gets up and chops him at the left knee again. Sending Vader crashing down to the mat. Flair takes advantage and slaps on the Figure Four. Vader is in a lot of trouble. In the end, the pain became too much for Vader and he taps out. Giving Ric Flair the victory and his career intact.
In a bout that had sensational wrestling and fantastic heat, Ric Flair defeated Vader in 31:15 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock. Ric Flair wins the WCW World Heavyweight title.
