"I don't think you understand what it means to be a champion after all these years, I don't think you get it, because it's not just about what happens in this ring, It's what happens when that red light turns off. What happens when you go back through the curtain, those small, quiet moments when you think no one's watching. That's what makes a champion. You talk a big game about worker's rights, yeah? Well you've shown the exact opposite since you've gotten here."
This one sentence, what many thought would be an innocent back and forth promo battle to build to the next big Pay-Per-View on AEW's calendar, would lead to a massive domino effect.

"There's people who call themselves EVP's that should've ****ing known
better, this shit was none of there business I understand it sticking up
for your friends, I ****ing get it, I stuck up for for him, I paid his
bills and I didn't, and it was my decision not to."

"I'm trying to run a business and when somebody who hasn't done a damn
thing in this business jeopardises the first million dollar house this
company has drawn off of my ****ing back and goes on national television
it's a disgrace to this industry and disgrace to this company."

"If you're an EVP, you don't try to middle your top babyface, try to get your niche audience on the internet to hate him for some made up bullshit, really pisses me off, stepping on your own dick trying to make money sell tickets, fill arenas and these stupid guys think they're in Reseda."
“There’s people who call themselves EVPs that should have ****ing known better. This shit was none of their business. I understand sticking up for your ****ing friends. I ****ing get it. I stuck up for that guy more than anybody. I paid his bills until I didn’t and it was my decision not to. When somebody who hasn’t done a damn thing in this business jeopardizes the first million-dollar house that this company has ever drawn off of my back and goes on national television and does that, it’s a disgrace to this industry. It’s a disgrace to this company. Now, we’re far beyond apologies. I gave him a ****ing chance. It did not get handled and you saw what I had to do, which is very regrettable, lowering myself to his ****ing level, but that’s where we’re at right now.”
Now, it’s 2022. I haven’t been friends with this guy since at least 2014, late 2013, and the fact that I have to sit up here because we have irresponsible people who call themselves EVPs yet they couldn’t ****ing manage a Target and they spread lies and bullshit and put into the media that I got somebody fired when I have **** all to do with him. I want nothing to do with him. I do not care where he works or where he doesn’t work, where he eats, where he sleeps. The fact that I have to get up here and do this in 2022 is ****ing embarrassing.”
"I'm old, I'm tired, I'm hurt, and I work with ****ing children."
The media scrum meant to celebrate yet another successful Pay-Per-View would end in shocking controversy, as it would be reported after the instance of these controversial comments were made, all hell would break loose backstage as while the story would be unclear on who or what started the skirmish, CM Punk, Ace Steel, and The Young Bucks would get into a brawl backstage, with many wrestling journalists and insiders labeling this under names such as "Scrumgate" and "Brawl Out" as the details behind this would remain completely scarce. Along with this, AEW announced that it will be ceasing it's content until things get fully cleared up and restructured. After this post was made, it just continued to fan the flames and more people were split. Wrestlers even got into it on social media. It's chaos in the land of The Elite.
