Announcers: Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler Vince and Shane announce the future of the WWE Championship, but then bad news comes! The McMahons come out to locl off Raw once again. They brag about beating DX last night, even when everyone thought they would get beaten. They insult the crowd for thinking that, and claim to be really tough. DX couldn't stop the McMahons, and there's no one who can. Then, Vince proceeds to talk about the other incident from last night, involving Rob Van Dam, He says that Rob has apparently made his decision . And since he's so committed to ECW, Vince has decided to strip Rob Van Dam of the WWE Championship. Instead, a tournament will start on Raw, to crown a new WWE Champion! A tournament between winners... not losers like Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Shane briefly interrupta«s his dad and says that as one of the two toughest men in WWE, he will obviously participate and "good luck trying to put me down". Vince is about to announce some other details when he's interrupted... It's Stephanie McMahon! Vince and Shane seem happy to see her and Vince goes to hug his daughter... but she walks right past him and grabs a mic. Stephanie says that she's here on behalf of WWE's board of directors, and they're concerned with the recent actions of Vince and Shane. They're so concerned that they've declared an emergency state. She says they've lost control of the show and they've let their egos get in the way of doing what s best for WWE. And their actions even made the WWE Champion walk out of the show! "And yes, RVD is still the WWE Champion. Because the board caught wind you plans for tonight, and they've overruled you! He will not be stripped!" She does say that Vince is right about Raw lacking a champion, and the tournament is carrying on and will start next week. Meanwhile, Stephanie says that Rob Van Dam will have until the tournament's end to decide what he wants to do and she wants to figure out what the best solution is together with him. She also says that she will have a final say about who enters the tournament and, obviously, Shane is not in! And Triple H and Shawn Michaels are! She adds the other participants will be announced later tonight, and leaves the ring as Vince and Shane look stunned, wondering what the hell just happened! Rating: 89 Serena Deeb Vs. Mickie JamesA pretty good first match for the show, Women's Champion Mickie faced a young wrestler from OVW named Serena Deeb. The rookie holds her own for a little while, but it's all about Mickie in this one, and she puts Deeb away after about 5 minutes with a kick to the head. Winner: Mickie James (Pinfall via Chick Kick) Rating: 72 Mickie claims history maker status After the match, Mickie James grabs a mic: "All I've been hearing about lately is how Trish and Lita made history. How Trish and Lita main evented Raw last week, how they were the first women to main event a show... how they just became the first women to main event a PPV. Well then, let me tell you what I think about all that history making... I think it's bullshit! It doesn't matter what they did, because the one woman that is standing at the top of WWE is me! I'm the onr holding this championship! I'm the one that beat Trish Stratus at Wrestlemania, and I'd beat Lita if I faced her too. So as far as I'm concerned, the history maker here is me!"
Rating: 70DX talk about last night and what comes next Triple H and Shawn Michaels are backstage, they're talking about last night and say that the McMahons only won because they had "two big dumb gorillas" guarding their backs. X-Pac walks in and says he was happy to guard their backs last night, but he's not gonna be around to help them out, because he has officially signed a contract with Smackdown. But he knows they can handle the McMahons. Hunter and Michaels say that they're not done with Vince and Shane just yet... but they're also keeping an eye on the tournament, and their goal will be to get to the finals, face eachother... and may the better man win. Rating: 76The new champs take pride in tag team wrestling The NEW World Tag Team Champions Carlito and Primo Colón, come out. They say that all the talk right now is about the WWE Championship and the tournament and whatnot... but that's not what they came here to talk about tonight! They say they're happy to have become Tag Team Champions, and that their focus right now is to bring tag team wrestling back to the spotlight! Gone are the days where some dumb cheerleaders were dragging tag team wrestling through the mud. They're proud to hold these championships, and they're gonna show everyone how great tag team wrestling can be. So, they tell any team in the back to come face them in a match right now! Out come the Bashams, and we're set for a tag team match. Rating: 56 Los Colóns Vs. The BashamsCarlito and Primo looked good once again following their match last night. The match does go about 10 minutes and both teams do have some experience together, even if the Bashams haven't tagged together in a bit. As expected the Colóns grab the win, with Carlito getting the pin once again. Winner: Carlito (Pinfall via Backstabber) Rating: 57 Jeff Hardy is welcomed back, Benjamin exchanges pleasantriesWe cut to backkstage where Jeff Hardy is shown arriving at the arena! He's welcomed back by several members of the Raw roster who are happy to see him. Lilian Garcia then catches Jeff and asks him about his surprise return last night. Jeff says that it's great to be back, he missed the fans and it sucks that he wasn't able to win the Intercontinental Championship last night, but he wants to earn a lot more wins in the future. Shelton Benjamin walks in. "Allow me to officially welcome you back to WWE, Jeff. Altough I kinda already did last night, when I beat you and Nitro. You see, a few things have changed while you been away. Now I'm the one that makes everyone gasp every time I'm in that ring. And this Intercontinental Championship is proof of how good I am. So don't think you can just come back here, take this title and just go back to how it was before, because there's no way in hell I'm gonna roll over for you!" They have a tense staredown as the segment ends. Rating: 69 Umaga in the tournament? Stephanie has her say Camera cuts to Vince's office, he still looks pretty lost, processing what happened last night. Armando Estrada walks in, says that him and Umaga were happy to do Vince a sudden favor. But now he wants to know... who's facing Umaga in the tournament, and how much is Vince gonna pay him for last night? Vince starts counting some cash and Stephanie walks in to catch him red handed. She says that we can't have people buying off others here on Raw. This is exactly the kind of stuff the board is concerned about, Vince and Shane using everyone they can to further their own goals, and that kind of curruption affects all superstars. So, as punishment, Umaga is officially off the tournament. And if he doesn't like it, then Umaga can take out his frustrations on Viscera tonight, in a Vengeance rematch! Estrada doesn't look happy, he takes the cash off Vince's hands and storms off. Rating: 79Lance Cade Vs. Hardcore HollyBig Lance Cade is back to Raw, he hasn't been seen since his partner Trevor Murdoch got injured a couple weeks ago. He takes on the vet Bob Holly and they have a pretty stiff, 10-minute match. Cade gets a clean win after a big Lariat. Winner: Lance Cade (Pinfall via Lariat) Rating: 61 Trish is beat up, Victoria is jealous Camera cuts to Trish Stratus, who's walking a bit gingerly after taking a Spear from Edge last night. She's being helped by Ashley and they run into John Cena. Once again, Cena thanks Trish for her help last night and asks how she's feeling. Trish says that she's alright, a bit sore, but she does feel bad about not getting the win. Cena says she doesn't have to feel bad about it, but Trish disagrees. She says it's good that she feels bad about it, it's proof that she still wants to wrestle, and she still wants to be the best. She thanks Cena for helping her see that she still belongs in the ring. Victoria then interrupts, she asks Trish if she saw what Mickie said earlier. Trish says she did, and Victoria tells her she thinks Mickie has a point. It's unfair that Trish keeps grabbing all the headlines when there's plenty of women deserrving of that attention, much like Victoria herself. Trish says that if Victoria is so jealous, she should do something about it. Victoria challenges Trish to a match... but next week, since she doesn't want Trish to have an excuse. "And tonight, I'll take out my anger on your little buddy." Victoria slaps Ahley and walks off. Rating: 86Chris Masters Vs. Al Snow"The Masterpiece" follows up his win from last week with another good display over vet Al Snow. Kinda similar to the earlier Cade vs Holly match, heel up and comer against a babyface vet. And once again the match does go near the 10 minute region. Masters gets another win with the Master Lock. Winner: Chris Masters (Submission via Master Lock) Rating: 65 Edge and Cena both stake their claim Edge comes to the ring, with Lita. He brags about last night's win, saying he and Lita embarassed Cena and Trish. Edge says he proved beyond any doubt that he's the rightful #1 contender, so he's confused as to why there's even gonna be a tournament in the first place. "I'll say it again, if Rob Van Dam doesn't want the WWE Championship, he should just give it to me." But then, Edge adds that since there is a tournament, he should definetly be in it, it's his right. Cena interrupts, and Edge is sick of the sight of him already. "What do you want Cena? I beat you last night! I'm done with you!" Cena acknowledges that, no matter the circumstances, Edge did beat him last night. But they are far from done. Cena says that anytime he and Edge step in a wrestling ring, Cena knows he can beat him. And so, Cena hopes he will be included in the tournament as well, and that hopefully he and Edge will cross paths during it. "Especially so that I can pay you back for last night!"Rating: 81 The tournament field is announced With Edge and Cena still in the ring, Stephanie McMahon pops up on the titantron. She says that she and the WWE board of directors have come to a decision regarding who will take part in the tournament. She says that Edge and Cena can calm down, because they're both in the tournament, as are 10 other men. These 12 men will face of in 6 singles matches, with three of those coming next week and the other three coming in two weeks. The remaining 6 will face off in two triple threat matches on July 17, and the winners of those matches will meet in a one on one match, on the July 24th Raw, which is also the deadline for Rob Van Dam to come to a decision. "With that being said, the tournament's first round matches are: Triple H vs Big Show, Jeff Hardy vs Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels vs William Regal, Randy Orton vs Ric Flair, John Cena vs Johnny Nitro and Edge vs Kane!""Oh and one more thing... these 12 men will face eachother, in a huge 6-on-6 tag team match, in the main event tonight!"Rating: 73 Umaga Vs. VisceraMatch could've been kinda the same as last night, but there is a bit of a different vibe. Umaga looks way more pissed, since he was excluded from the tournament, and he wants to take it out on big Vis. Of course, it's not like Viscera would just roll over, but clearly Umaga has blood on his mind as he just charges at him from the beginning. Viscera does fight back here and there, but Umaga is just too dominant. And Umaga is trying to make a statement, because he could've just pinned Viscera after he hit the spike. Instead, he grabs a fallen Viscera by the head and keeps spiking him in the throat until the ref calls for the bell! Winner: Umaga (Knock Out via Samoan Spike) Rating: 67 Someone is very angry at Randy Orton Randy Orton comes out for another promo. He says that finally WWE's decision makers have realized they better stop wasting his time and he's finally back on track to becoming a world champion once again. He says that there's no one in the tournament field more ruthless than him, and no one will stand in his way, especially not Ric Flair. He's interrupted by a young man who storms into the ring with a mic. "Randy! Who the hell do you think you are?" Randy is a bit stunned "Who am I? Who the hell are you?" The young man is about to answer... but instead clonks Orton in the head with a mic and the two of them start brawling. Ric Flair then comes out with some backstage staff members (those being Hayes, Hacksaw, Brisco and Steamboat) to pull Orton and the unknown young man apart. Flair grabs the mic as the staff members hold them back. He talks to the young man first "Calm the hell down, kid! That's not the way to do this!" He's still trying to lunge at Orton while restrained, instead of listening. Flair slaps him "Cody! Calm down kid!" He's starting to calm down and Flair says to the guys restraining him "hold him back!" Flair then turns to Orton, who has crawled out of the ring by now: "Randy, that young man's name is Cody Rhodes. He's Dusty's son and he's even more pissed at you than I am. I'm telling you right now, as someone that you used to look up to, you're gonna face the consequences of what you did. And those consequences are gonna start coming next week, when I kick your ass!"Rating: 83 Victoria Vs. Ashley MassaroThe second women's match on the show, and it's probably a better one than you'd expect. Ashley is definetly limited as a wrestler, but she tries hard and has great chemistry with Victoria, with the more experienced competitor guiding her through a decent 8 minute bout. As you'd expect, Victoria nails the Widow's Peak for the win. Winner: Victoria (Pinfall via Widow's Peak) Rating: 67 Edge to Stephanie: "You'd better get out of my way" We're almost ready for the main event, but before that happens we cut to Edge, already in his gear, who makes a detour on his way to the ring to talk to Stephanie directly. He tells her that he's proven by now, over and over again, that he's the rightful WWE Champion. And there's not a soul, and there's not any tournaments, that will stop him from getting what he deserves. Rating: 76John Cena & Shawn Michaels & Triple H & Jeff Hardy & Kane & Ric Flair Vs. Randy Orton & Edge & William Regal & Johnny Nitro & Big Show & Shelton Benjamin The main event was a big blockbuster tag, and it felt like it with all the big names involved. All 12 guys went out there trying to put on the best match possible, and they go for 20 minutes with plenty of action. There's not much of an overarching story here, it's just 12 ultra competitive guys trying to get the best of eachother and getting the hype for the tournament up. The classic house show multi man tag finish happens where everyone hits their big move on eachother, and eventually Cena pins Nitro after an F-U to get the win for the good guys. Winner: John Cena (Pinfall via F-U) Rating: 98 Total Rating: 82

Announcers: Joey Styles and Tazz We have a McMahon in the ECW arena! The show starts with a huge surprise: Stephanie McMahon is arriving at the arena! Still in the parking lot, she is met by Dreamer, Sandman and Sabu. Dreamer tell her that he doesn't think she's welcome backstage. Steph says she expected that much, and asks one of them to bring Paul Heyman. They don't have to, becayse Heyman arrives right away. He asks Stephanie what she's doing here tonight. She says that she just wants to stay backstage and watch the show, see how Heyman runs things and is possible, she'd like to talk to Rob Van Dam. Heyman is hesitant, but does accept the request. He does warn her that trying to force Van Dam like her father did won't go well, to which Stephanie replies: "I'm not here to force anyone, Paul. It's not like I own ECW... not anymore. Kidding! But seriously, I promise you'll barely even know I'm here!"Rating: 89Jerry Lynn has news for Kurt Angle Angle is shown warming up in the locker room, and Jerry Lynn walks in. He tells Kurt that he talked to Heyman earlier and got them a match against Mercury, after what he did last week. And to continur Angle's integration in the ECW way... it's gonna be a 3-way dance! Angle looks as intense as ever, and says he's looking forward to it. But he warns Lynn, the outcome won't be any different than before, for either him or Mercury. Rating: 67 Lance Storm Vs. Stevie RichardsThe first action of the show is also first of two singles matches between the Impact Players and the bWo, after the challenge made last week. All four men come out, with Credible and Nova staying outside of the ring and Storm and Stevie wrestling first. It's actually pretty open between Storm and Stevie, and they tried their best to produce a great match. Perhaps they tried too much, because the match was actually a bit sloppy. It remained pretty open until Credible suddenly attacked Nova on the outside, Stevie got distracted and Storm nailed him with a Superkick and got the pin. Winner: Lance Storm (Pinfall) Rating: 60 Nova Vs. Justin Credible Ceedible threw Nova in the ring and asked for the second match to start right away. He immediately tries to pin Nova but he kicks out. So, Credible decides to punish him some more, taking his time to really taunt Stevie and the crowd. Nova is pretty out of it and Credible just dominates him. After he decides it's time to finish Credible goes for his big DDT... but Nova rolls him up, with his feet on the ropes for leverage! 1..2...3! Nova outsmarted Credible! Winner: Nova (Flash Pinfall) Rating: 62 Storm and Credible attack, but they're stopped by Balls! After losing to Nova from out of nowhere, Credible is pissed. He and Storm attack Nova and Richards from behind, beating them down. They grab some chair and are about to continue the assault when Balls Mahoney runs in, with his own chair! He swings the chair at the two Impact Players and chases them away. Rating: 58 No politics for RVD Paul Heyman is in his office with Stephanie, and it seems that her promise to be a fly on the wall has not been kept, as it's apparent they've been discussing several matters during the entire show. Stephanie does appear pleased though, says that the environment is much healthier than Raw's backstage, even if there's always some confusion. Rob Van Dam walks in, just the man Stephanie came here to see. But he doesn't look pleased, he tells Stephanie he's done with the McMahon shenanigans, he's tired of all the politics and just wants to focus on what he does best. "So whatever it is that you're after, I don't want anything to do with it". Stephanie says she's not here to play politician with Rob, she just wants what's best for everyone. For now, she just wants RVD to think about what he wants and what his goals are. They have a few weeks to come to an understanding, afterall. So no pressure, for now. Rating: 85 Shannon Moore has a meeting with the Buzzsaw Scott Stanford is backstage with Shannon Moore, who apparently asked for this time. Moore says that despiite being part of the ECW roster, he hasn't really had an opportunity to showcase his skills yet. He wants that to change, and challenges someone he looks up to and who's been on a roll since returning. That someone is Tajiri, and he will meet him in the ring next week. Rating: 55 CM Punk Vs. PsicosisAfter an explosive debut, CM Punk has his second match in ECW and is looking for his first win against Psicosis. Super Crazy stays at ringside to cheer on his tag team partner, but doesn't get involved and lets the match stay clean. It's a bit of a clash of styles, with Punk adopting more of a striking strategy and Psicosis looking for some high risk lucha. They do mesh well and work hard, though the crowd do take a while to get into it. It's 12 minutes of some great back and forth action. Punk goes for a knee strike in the corner but Psicosis catches him and delivers a huge running sitout powerbomb. Then he climbs to the top, going for the big leg drop, but Punk moves out of the way! He nails the Pepsi Twist immediately and then signals for something... he lifts Psicosis onto his shoulders and drops him into a huge knee strike! GTS! 1..2...3! Winner: CM Punk (Pinfall via Go 2 Sleep) Rating: 69 Mick Foley has found someone he can save Punk is celebrating his first win in ECW when we hear someone talk. It's Mick Foley, and he's talking from the crowd, and a spotlight makes his way to him. "CM Punk... you're the one shining I found in this dark, cold place. A pure soul, free of vices... free of alcohol... of drugs... and the worst poison of all... ECW. You might be in ECW, Punk, but you're not yet consumed by it. You're not a vile and bloodthirsty being like these people here tonight, no. You're a competitior, a real spark in this otherwise broken, decrepit locker room. But you're at risk, CM Punk. Because I see you, I see the look in your eyes, I see how you look at these people... there's a demon inside you that wants blood, it wants to inflict inhuman amounts of pain. And it wants that... because it wants the love of these people. But don't you worry, Punk. Because I will not let that demon win. I won't let you have the same fate as many others that have come here before you. I will not let ECW take you. I will save you from ECW, so that together, we can put an end to even more suffering."CM Punk doesn't really know how to react to this, he just looks at Foley in confusion. Rating: 80 Kurt Angle Vs. Joey Mercury Vs. Jerry LynnAfter what Mercury pulled off last week, it was clear how this was gonna start, Angle and Lynn both wanted to make him pay. But Mercury is no fool, so as soon as the bell rings he gets off the ring. Angle and Lynn both agree to leave the ring to go after him, but surprise! Lynn rolls up Angle! Kickout at 2! Jerry Lynn almost caught Angle there, anything can happen in a 3-way dance! So obviously, there's no real alliance here and all 3 men go at eachother, with some weapons involved. Still, there is a moment where Angle and Lynn do take turns beating on Mercury and they have a little fun with him. But then Mercury pushes Lynn onto Angle and they both get knocked down. Mercury hits Lynn on the head with a chair... but he kicks out at the last second! Frustrated, Mercury goes to do the same to Angle... but Angle trips him up and catches him by the leg! Ankle Lock and... Mercury taps out! It's down to Angle and Lynn now. They wrestle for a while longer and trade some near falls. Angle goes for an Angle Slam, Lynn slips out of it and hits a neckbreaker,, followed by a Tornado DDT onto a trash can! But Angle kicks out at 2. Lynn goes for the Cradle Piledriver but Angle catches his leg... Ankle Lock! Lynn is trying to fight it... he grabs a chair and whacks Angle in the head! Angle stumbles back. Lynn limps towards him, Angle doesn't seem to know where he's at.Angle Slam out of nowhere! Angle is hyped, he pulls the straps down...Ankle Lock to Lynn, and this time he grapevines the leg! Lynn has no choice but to tap out! Winner: Kurt Angle (Submission via Ankle Lock) Rating: 84 RVD has some thinking to do, but he's found a focus for next week! After the match Rob Van Dam comes out with a mic. " Since yesterday, Stephanie McMahon has been telling me to think about what I want. Well, right now I don't really care about any of the McMahons. But as far as that tournament on Raw and this championship, one thing is pretty clear. No one has beaten me for the WWE title, and until someone does I will be the WWE Champion. And one thing that champions get to do, is celebrate harder than anyone else. And next week there's a great reason to celebrate, because it's the 4th of July. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by facing off against a real American hero. So Kurt Angle, I'm calling you out. You and me, 4th of July ECW, for the WWE Championship!" Angle grabs a mic and shouts "You're on!"Rating: 82 Total Rating: 75%

Steph putting her foot down! That's a stacked tourney field. Like the different way of doing it instead of all singles matches. I guess Cody is just always meant to start off with Randy haha. I like that it was a little different. Hardy vs Shelton will be good and Umaga will be on the warpath.
Explain to me what RVD has to decide on exactly? I think I must have missed it. I know Vince wants to strip him but Steph is allowing him to retain it if he comes back to RAW? RVD vs Angle, YES! Great tie-in with the 4th of July too! And the Foley promo on Punk is excellent. This will be a star-making performance for the Punker.

Explain to me what RVD has to decide on exactly? I think I must have missed it. I know Vince wants to strip him but Steph is allowing him to retain it if he comes back to RAW? It is a little bit complex, but basically you're right. RVD has to decide if he comes back to Raw or if he stays in ECW. RVD is still contracted to Raw, but he defected to ECW. With him being the WWE Champion that's a bad look, so Vince basically tried to bully him into coming back to Raw. That didn't work so Vince tried to strip him and make a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion. The WWE board thought Vince was abusing his power and intervened, so RVD wasn't stripped. But they do recognize the situation isn't sustainable, so they sent Stephanie to convince RVD. It's not explicitly clear what the board actually wants, but we can assume their goal is to get him back on Raw with the title. Meanwhile, the tournament went ahead and if RVD doesn't come back until the end of the tournament, then the board would feel that's enough of a reason to strip him and award the WWE Championship to the winner.

Total Viewers: 7,768,879 Announcers: Michael Cole and Roddy Piper JBL arrives focused JBL arrives at the parking lot in his limo. Josh Matthews is there waiting to speak to him, and asks him about tonight's main event, the #1 contender match against Chris Benoit. JBL says it's exactly as he said last week, he's gonna do whatever it takes to become a world champion. Chavo couldn't stand in his way, and neither will Benoit or Rey Mysterio. He's not gonna think twice about breaking both of them if it means he gets closer to the World Heavyweight Championship. Rating: 75 Paul London & Brian Kendrick & Matt Hardy Vs. Jamie Noble & Kid Kash & Mr. KennedyAfter the events of last week, it's obvious that London and Kendrick would be fired up to fight Noble and Kash. Kennedy and Hardy also continued their feud, and gear up for next week's match with this trios bout here. There's good, lively action as I told everyone to put their working boots on and put on a great opener. And honestly, hot openers are a great spot for Londrick. The two teams go for about 13 minutes with a lot of excitement, but it's Kennedy that gets the win. He shoves Kendrick into Matt Hardy, they clonk heads and Kennedy hits the Kenton Bomb on Kendrick. Kash and Noble hold London off as Kennedy gets the pinfall win. Winner: Mr. Kennedy (Pinfall via Kenton Bomb) Rating: 73 Benoit is all business Chris Benoit is in the locker room warming up when Rey Mysterio walks up to him. Rey wishes him luck and says he wants to Benoit to win so they can have a great match. Benoit pauses for a moment and looks at Rey. Then he says he doesn't need luck, he's beaten JBL before and he can do it again. And he also says that Rey should be more careful with what he wishes... "because if we do get in that ring, I'm taking that title from you." They have a bit of a tense staredown and then Beoit says "... but I appreciate the sentiment". Benoit gives Rey a friendly pat on the shoulder and walks off. Rating: 65 Bobby Lashley Vs. The Miz So the premise here is that if Miz were to beat Lashley, he'd get a title shot. And with the stakes high for him, Miz did what he does really well and played an infuriatingly smarmy heel for a bit. But of course, eventually Lashley got his hand on him, and when that happened he didn't really give Miz much of a chance. No title shot for Miz but you gotta hand it to him, he worked his ass off to make Lashley look good. Winner: Bobby Lashley (Pinfall via Dominator) Rating: 74 The Congregation is coming to Smackdown A vignette plays showcasing two thuggish looking young men. They introduce themselves as Shad Gaspard and JTG. They claim they used to be living a life of crime, until someone showed them that it didn't have to be this way, that meaningless crime was not an answer. Then say they turned to faith. A third man appears. He's got a big bright smile and is dressed in blinged up clothes, sunglasses and is wearing a big bedazzled crucifix around his neck. "These young men have faith. Faith in someone who can steer them in the right path. Faith in me... "The Pope". And just like they did, more will end up believing in me too. And soon, my Congregation is gonna grow, when I come face to face with all of you" Big letters appear on the screen: Elijah Burke - Coming soon Rating: 100 Gregory Helms Vs. FunakiPretty routine match for the Cruiserweight Champ here. Let's be honest, it's only Funaki. Shining Wizard gets Helms the win after like 6 minutes. Winner: Gregory Helms (Pinfall via Shining Wizard) Rating: 65 X-Pac is on Smackdown, but he's not the only one! Post match, Helms' celebration is interrupted by... X-Pac! As he said on Monday, he signed a contract to Smackdown. X-Pac gets in the ring, grabs a mic and tells Helms that he's seen how he's been acting like he's better than everyone, how he thinks he's beaten everyone in the division. So, X-Pac came to Smackdown to knock him down a peg, and take the Cruiserweight Championship! But then Teddy Long pops up on the titantron... "Hold on there, playa. Now, you signed a contract with Smackdown and I'm glad you did... but that don't mean you're getting a title shot right off the bat. And that... is Helms' fault. You see playa, Helms has been complaining so much about not having enough competition, that I went and brought someone else back. And he wants a shot at it too." The camera zooms out to show... Billy Kidman! "So next week, we will have X-Pac taking on Billy Kidman, in a #1 contender's match for the Great American Bash!"Rating: 59 The "New Phenom" makes a brutal statement The Boogeyman comes out for a scheduled singles match, doing his spooky entrance. His scheduled opponent isn't come out however. After a moment, the Great Khali comes out, with an unconscious young man (probably Boogeyman's opponent) on his shoulder. Obviously Khali beat him up. Khali dumps the young man on the stage and walks to the ring menacingly. Kahli and the Boogeyman stare eachother down and then they start brawling! But it doesn't take long for Khali to overpower him, and then he does his trademark Vice Grip to crush Boogeyman's head! Then he tosses the steel steps in the ring and gives him the Plunge onto them! Boogeyman is destroyed! Then, Daivari picks up a mic: "Bow to your new hero... bow to the biggest, baddest man in that locker room... bow to the new phenom... The Great Khali! Khali will keep on dominating the entire Smackdown locker room until he chooses not to, because there's nobody to stop him. There's no one that can take him down. Because the old phenom is dead... and he will... Rest. In. Peace."Rating: 80 Chavo is worried about Rey Chavo approaches Rey backstage. He says that Rey has to be careful, JBL isn't kidding around when he says he'll do anything to become champion, and he proved it last week. Rey tells him that JBL isn't the #1 contender yet, he has to go through Benoit. Chavo warns Rey that there's something different about JBL, he felt last week that he's more unhinged, more evil that usual. He asks Rey if he's thinking of getting involved. Rey says he won't, but he will be joining commentary so he can see the match first hand. Rating: 71 Gunner Scott Vs. Mark HenryCole and Piper say that Gunner Scott requested this match after Henry's attack last week. And it's clear that Gunner Scott is after revenge as he rushes Henry even before he gets in the ring. He throws Henry head first into the ring post and rolls him in the ring to start the match. Scott keeps going at Henry and knocks him down with a Slingshot DDT. Then he climbs up to the top and goes for a crossbody... big mistake. Henry rolls through... World's Strongest Slam. Henry stares at Scott, and instead of going for the pin he decides it's not enough punishment. He hits a couple of running splashes to his downed opponent. Then, a second World's Strongest Slam. And then he lifts him up into a Bear Hug. Scott lets out a pained scream as he taps out. Winner: Mark Henry (Submission) Rating: 59 Mark Henry's Hall of Pain gets its first inductee Mark Henry doesn't break the Bear Hug post match. Instead, he waits until Gunner Scott passes out in the hold and drops him. Then, he goes to pick up a chair. We think he's gonna brutalize Scott some more, but that's not what happens. Instead Henry unfolds the chair over Scott's unconscious body, goes to grab a mic and sits on the chair. "I warned y'all last week: nobody can stop me. And what does this fool do? He don't listen. He wanted to try and challenge the World's Strongest Man. Now do you see what happens? You see what happens when you mess with me, boy? Ya get yo ass kicked, and ya get yo ribs crushed! And now you're inducted. So for y'all watching this in the back, don't be a fool like him. Don't challenge me, cuz bad things gonna happen if you do. Don't even come near me, just stay at home. Stay at home... like Batista. Or else, Imma induct you into my Hall of Pain!"Rating: 76 The King targets some gold Lashley is getting iced up backstage and Booker walks up to him. Booker says it's great that Lashley beat Miz, but now he's got no challenger for that US title. Booker says he'll do Lashley a favor and challenge him, then. Afterall, he beat him not too long ago, and that win got him a crown. Now he'll just beat him again, and the next win gets him the US title. Suddenly, Finlay jumps Lashley from behind! Booker and Finlay beat Lashley down and leave him laying! Rating: 81 JBL Vs. Chris Benoit This match is as heated as you'd expect, with JBL using every dirty trick in the book and Benoit fighting from underneath. But anytime one man lets their guard down, the other takes advantage... JBL with something dirty, Benoit with wrestling ability. Rey is on commentary and isn't really shy about cheering on Benot either. After Benoit nearly gets JBL in the crossface, he slithers out of the ring to grab a chair. That gets Mysterio out of his seat. Mysterio takes the chair from Bradshaw and the two of them have a staredown. Then Bradshaw says something imperceptible to Rey and gets back in the ring. Rey looks stunned, then angry and tries to get in the ring. The referee stops him... and JBL takes advantage of the distraction to shove Benoit onto the referee, and onto Rey Mysterio, who falls from the apron onto the floor. JBL then kicks Benoit in the nuts, much like he did to Chavo last week, and then hits a Clothesline From Hell. The referee is back up... and 1, 2, 3! Winner: JBL (Cheap Pinfall via Clothesline From Hell) Rating: 76 JBL lays down the challenge: he's not waiting long! Post match, an exhausted JBL grabs a mic: " Rey, it's time for you to listen to me, and listen closely. That World Heavyweight Championship doesn't belong to you. And the longer it stays around your waist, the more it makes me sick! So I'm not gonna wait much longer, I'm not gonna wait for the Great American Bash. It's gonna be you and me, next week on Smackdown, because I can't take it any longer. Exactly 2 years and 3 days ago I beat your friend Eddie Guerrero to win the WWE Championship. And next week, I'm gonna win the World Heavyweight Championship that you bathed in his blood!"
Rey looks stunned at JBL's words. Benoit is stirring up and JBL drills him with another Clothesline From Hell to end the show. Rating: 80Total Rating: 74

RAW: Stephanie stepping against the patriarchy is a good thing. Plus, RVD was her poster boy in 2001, after all. The tournament will give Orton something bigger to do and he'll probably get very far. Cody and Flair are just a side quest, I guess. Advancing in the first round: HHH, Jeff, Regal, Orton, Cena, Edge.
ECW: Balls saving Nova and Stevie? Is that the birth of...... Blue Balls? Well, I'm 90% sure Steph is being honest about the "no pressure" thing, but she probably wants RVD to go back to RAW... that causes me not to trust her fully. Anti-Hardcore Foley + Straight Edge Savior Punk may be the duo we don't know we need, but we sure as hell would like. Like to hate, that is. I'm curious. Yeah, Angle is on a roll and he really doesn't have anyone that can even tie his laces (star power-wise) in the roster except for RVD. Great title match for the 4th of July ECW. May that bring us the return of red, white and blue ropes! I wouldn't be fully surprised if there's a title change.
SD!: The Pope! I loved The Pope gimmick and always wondered how hard it would go if it had been used in the WWE instead. Shad and JTG are cool to go along Elijah, tbh. Damn, you just lit up the Cruiserweight division with two nice lamps. X-Pac vs. Kidman is going to be awesome and, somehow, I think we'll have a 3-way at GAB. Is this the end of the Boogeyman? Nice promo by Henry to start his Hall of Pain. JBL is despicable. And that's just behind the cameras. With the camera on he's slightly better, but still despicable. I don't know if Rey Rey can retain.

Shawn Michaels Vs. William Regal The show kicks off with a hard fought opener, which also kicks off the tournament. Some would be surprised to see Regal compete so evenly with a top star like Michaels, but the british made sure to remember the audience that he was no slouch. The 12-minute bout was kept surprisingly clean and really high quality, and Regal seemed to have it won when he hooked Michaels up for the Regalplex, but HBK landed on his feet and hit Sweet Chin Music from out of nowhere to get the pinfall. Winner: Shawn Michaels (Pinfall via Sweet Chin Music) Rating: 81 The McMahons go after DX again! Post match, Shawn Michaels celebrates the win, he advances to the semi final in 2 weeks! As he walks up the ramp though, he's attacked from behind by Shane McMahon! The two brawl for a bit, until Vince arrives with a steel chair and whacks Michaels in the back! And another steel chair shot to the head, busting Michaels open! Happy with their handywork, the McMahons leave as the medical team check on Michaels. Rating: 83 Victoria Vs. Trish StratusThis match was made last week when a jealous Victoria challenged Trish. It's clear that Trish and Lita main eventing Vengeance ruffled some feathers within the women's division, and that meant Victoria would take anything she could to embarass Trish, often making use of any dirty tactic available. But Trish wanted to proved she earned that spot for a reason, and she looked great for most of the match against Victoria. Trish seemed to have the match won, signaling for the Chick Kick, but Mickie James runs into the ring and attacks her. It's a disqualification caused by the women's championship, and the crowd hate it. Winner: Trish Stratus (Interference DQ) Rating: 62 Mickie grabs the headlines, but someone else has something to say Mickie and Victoria beat down Trish Stratus, leaving her laying. Then Mickie grabs a mic. "I told you last week Trish! I've had enough of you grabbing my spotlight! I'm the top woman in this division! Not you or Lita!" However, that last sentence brings someone else out... it's Lita! Lita says that she heard how Mickie said last week that she'd beat her if she faced off. So Lita wants to give her a chance to do just that. She's gonna go talk to Stephanie later and see what she thinks. "But remember Mickie, be careful what you wish for. Because if that match does happen I'm gonna beat you, just like I beat Trish at Vengeance. And I'll prove that the top woman in WWE is me!"Rating: 70 Stephanie puts her foot down! Mr. McMahon and Shane are walking together backstage. They're all happy and cocky after what they did to Shawn Michaels earier, and they plan on doing the same to Triple H and take out both members of DX. Stephanie walks up to them and asks "What the hell do you think you're doing, are you trying to ruin the tournament? " Vince and Shane claim they're doing the opposite, that DX aren't good representatives for WWE and it's their job that the winner is up to the company standards. Stephanie is having none of it and she is furious. "The whole point of this was to find Raw another deserving champion, because Rob Van Dam can't have it since he hurt your little ego, right? ... But you can't even let the tournament happen fairly without getting involved, can you? You just have to keep doing whatever you want, right? You know what, dad? You and Shane are banned from the arena! Go get your stuff and security will accompany you out!" She leaves in a huff and, once again, Vince and Shane are speechless! Rating: 86 Orton adds insult to injury Randy Orton comes to the ring. He says that it's a shame that Ric Flair got injured... because he was looking forward to "finally ending his sorry excuse for a career next week. But let's face it, it should have been over a decade ago already". Orton mocks Flair for being old and fragile, and says that even after he recovers, he might as well stay gone. Flair comes out pissed off, walking with a crutch. He calls Orton a disrespectful punk and regrets that he ever taught him anything. Orton says that the only thing he learned from Flair was what not to do, he doesn't want to be a useless, old loser like him. Flair slaps Orton... and Orton kicks his crutch! Flair falls and can't get up! Orton measures his head... he's gonna punt him! But Cpdy runs in with a chair and chases him off! Cody stares a hole through Orton as he walks away with a smug grin. Rating: 87 Los Colóns Vs. Snow & HollyThe Colón brothers try to put on another good tag match, this time facing two vets in Al Snow and Hardcore Holly. It's pretty straighforward though, the champs dominate most of the 10-minute bout and Primo pins Holly after the Backstabber. Winner: Primo (Pinfall) Rating: 63 The tournament participants set the stage for next week! John Cena comes out. He talks about the tournament and says that, no matter what RVD chooses to do, whether he keeps the WWE Championship or not, Cena has every intention of winning the tournament and taking it back. He' says hed prefer to take it from Van Dam directly because he wants to correct the wrong of One Night Stand, but either way will do. Cena claims to be fully focused on next week's match against Johnny Nitro. He's interrupted, not by Nitro, but by Edge. He says that Cena must be an idiot to think he should even be mentioned in the same breath as the WWE Championship. Edge says Cena should've even be in the tournament at all after he mopped the floor with him at Vengeance. "But it's fine, it just means I have to beat you again". Then Nitro comes out with Melina, and says that Edge won't have to worry about Cena at all... because he's getting knocked out next week. And Nitro will eliminate Edge too, or anyone that steps in the ring with him. It's time for the entire Raw roster to bow to Nitro... again. Edge says "listen here you little punk-" BOOM! Melina shrieks as the corner posts explode and the lights turn red! It's Kane! He's making his presence felt. He just walks to the stage and stares at Cena, Edge, Nitro and a scared Melina... and laughs menacingly. The Big Red Machine has made it clear that he'll be no pushover! Rating: 94 Trish and Lita... together? Lita goes to Stephanie's office to ask for a match with Mickie James. Before she gets an answer though, Trish also walks in. She says that her and Lita might not agree on much, but Mickie needs to be dealt with and Trish wants a match with her too. Trish and Lita are about to start arguing when Mickie and Victoria both walk in too and the 4 of them almost come to blows before they're separated by staff. Stephanie says that, since Trish and Lita both want to get their hands on Mickie so bad, maybe they should both do it. Next week, it'll be Mickie James and Victoria vs ... Lita and Trish Stratus! Rating: 71 Triple H has one focus: the tournament! Todd Grisham is backstage with Triple H, who will face the Big Show in tonight's main event. He asks Hunter where his head is at, considering what happened with Shawn Michaels earlier. He says that he talked to Shawn and thankfully he's fine. Plus, the McMahons goe ejected so there's only one thing for him to focus on: beating Big Show tonight and getting to the semi final. He says no one is gonna stop him from winning that tournament. Jeff Hardy overhears this and walks in. He says that Hunter should go sit close to a monitor and watch his match vs Shelton Benjamin next, so that he can watch the future tournament winner in action from the first row. Rating: 82 Jeff Hardy Vs. Shelton BenjaminJeff and Shelton meet one again, this time one on one. The match started a little slow, with Benjamin focusing on keeping Hardy grounded and trying to outwrestle him. But Jeff wouldn't just lay down for the the Intercontinental Champion, and the match picked up once he was able to fight back some more. The two tried their best to put on a great match, and they had the time to do it too with it lasting 16 minutes. The crowd never fully exploded though, even with both guys trying their best. Hardy went to the top to hit the Swanton but Benjamin moves out of the way. He pauses, taunts the crowd saying that Jeff is done. Shelton hooks him up for the T-Bone... Small Package from Hardy... 1...2...3! Hardy beats the Intercontinental Champion and Benjamin is incredulous! Jeff Hardy moves on to the semi final! Winner: Jeff Hardy (Flash Pinfall) Rating: 69 Cody wants to be Flair's replacement, but Stephanie has other ideas Backstage, there's Stephanie McMahon in her office again. In comes a limping Ric Flair, being helped by a crutch and Cody Rhodes. Stephanie asks Flair how he's doing, to which he answers that he's been better but he'll be alright. He also says he'll step back in the ring for sure, no matter what Randy Orton might say. Cody says he wants revenge for what Orton has been doing, and asks Stephanie to be put in Flair's place. Stephanie sympathizes with him... but she can't just put Cody in such an important tournament because of a personal vendetta, he hasn't earned his spot. Cody is about to talk back, but Flair stops him. Stephanie says she's picked the replacement already, it'll be Chris Masters who takes on Randy Orton next week. Cody says he'll make sure to get his hands on Orton eventually, but Stephanie warns him that there will be consequences if he interferes with the tournament, so she adivses him to be patient. Cody walks off looking a bit upset, Flair tells Stephanie not to worry, he'll take care of him. Rating: 77 Triple H Vs. Big Show "The Game" had his game face on for this one. It's not only a chance to move to the next round, but he also has the opportunity to get his hands on the Big Show who has been a thorn on DX's backside for a while. Dealing with the big man's power is no easy feat though, and Triple H had to fight from the underneath for a lot of the 14-minute match. But Big Show also seemed unable to put him away, and the more hits Triple H took, the more he fought back. He goes for a Pedigree but Big Show counters with a gigantic back body drop. Then he has his sights set for a 500 pound spear... SPINEBUSTER from Triple H! The ring shook from that impact. "The Game" has this one, he's going for the Pedigree... WHAT? Umaga is here! And he's coming to the ring looking pissed off! Triple H is distracted... Big Show grabs him! A huuuuge Chokeslam! 1...2...3! Triple H has been eliminated! Winner: Big Show (Distraction Finish via Chokeslam) Rating: 75 Game Over for "The Game" Big Show celebrates and leaves the ring... and now it's Umaga and a beat up Triple H. Umaga gets in the ring and goes right for him, getting on top of "The Game" and brutalizing him with headbutts! Then Umaga grabs the steel steps... he waits for Triple H to get up... and nails him with them right in the head! He gets Triple H in the corner and delivers a hip attack! Then he gets the steep staps on Triple H's prone body... a second hip attack! Umaga walks off as medics tend to Triple H... but he turns back around and gets back in the ring as the medical team runs away in fear! Triple H is busted wide open and seems unconscious. Umaga gets some of the blood and rubs it on his own chest. Samoan Spike to an unconscious Triple H! what a savage attack! But he's not done... Umaga drags Triple H to ringside. He clears the announce desk as JR and Lawler tun away. He places Triple H on there and hits him in the bloody face with a camera! Now he climbs to the top rope... No! He's gonna crush him! SAMOAN SPLASH THROUGH THE TABLE! Umaga has destroyed Triple H! Rating: 100 Total Rating: 76

Announcers: Joey Styles and Tazz Angle enters problem solving mode The show begins with Kurt Angle on screen, speaking from his locker room. He says that he's been thinking, and he has a solution to Rob Van Dam's problem. Tonight, he will make sure that he beats RVD and becomes WWE Champion. And after he does, there'll be no reason for him to be so indecisive. Tonight, on 4th of July, Kurt Angle will win the WWE for a 5th time and solve this mess. "Oh it's true... it's damn true!"Rating: 80 Mexicools Vs. Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman The opening match is an interesting clash of styles, with Super Crazy and Psicosis mixing their lucha with Dreamer and Sandman's hardcore brawling. Obviously there was plenty of weapons used and the match was a bit chaotic as a result. The Mexicools put up a good fight, but as it's been the case lately Sandman and Dreamer were on a great level. Dreamer pinned Super Crazy after 11 minutes with a Spicoli Driver through a table. The Mexicans were a bit downhearted at the defeat, but showed respect to the winners nonetheless. Winner: Tommy Dreamer (Pinfall via Death Valley Driver) Rating: 67 The Impact Players issue another challenge Scott Stanford is backstage with Lance Storm and Justin Credible. They say that last week they had the bWo right where they wanted them, but then Balls Mahoney attacked them for no reason and ruined it all. But Balls will be sorry for sticking his nose into their business, because the Impact Players got themselves some backup as well (but they don't reveal who it is). And they challenge Balls, Stevie and Nova for a 6-man tag match next week! Rating: 68 Lynn and Mercury are out of control The next match is about to start, but before it does Joey Styles says he and Tazz just got word that something is happening backstage. We see it's Joey Mercury and Jerry Lynn, and they're beating the hell out of eachother in the parking lot. They're out of control and just going at eachother! The fight lasts for a while until Mercury DDT's Lynn on top of a car! Security appear to pull Mercury away as medics check on Lynn. Rating: 46 Tajiri Vs. Shannon Moore Shannon Moore gets a chance to showcase himself, as he put it, against Tajiri. The match starts quite fast paced and competitive, but as it goes on it really is clear that Tajiri is on a roll. He catches a diving Moore with the Buzzsaw Kick for a good win. Winner: Tajiri (Pinfall via Buzzsaw Kick) Rating: 62 Punk confronts Foley, but he's left with a warning CM Punk comes out and picks up a mic. "So, it seems that I have someone's attention now. Not just anyone, but someone that I actually respect and look up to in Mick Foley. And make no mistake about it, the 16 year old CM Punk inside of me is really freakin' happy about it. But the adult CM Punk that stands before you had to do some thinking about what Mick said to me. And Mick, I'd like for you to come out here, because I have some things to say to you." Mick Foley once again appears in the crowd, but this time he walks to the ring to meet Punk face to face. He gets in the ring and Punk continues talking. "Mick, you told me last week that you were gonna save me from this place. And I've been trying to wrap my mind around that... but I just can't see what there is to be saved. If anything, the one that needs to be saved... is you. You need to be saved from whatever is going on in your mind... because everybody wants the real Mick Foley back!" Foley takes the mic from Punk and says "You're wrong CM Punk, you're very wrong. This place is dangerous... and these people are the most dangerous of all. I'm disappointed in you, but I'm not surprised... because I know this place. You might be straight edge, but that doesn't mean you can't get addicted. Addicted to ECW. I know that addiction very well Punk... because I've lived with it for a very long time. And even now, all these years later, I still struggle with it! So you're right in one thing... I do need saving. The problem is I can't be saved, because I'm too far gone. But like I said... it's not the same for you. And it's my duty to save you from it... whether you want to... or not."Rating: 91 Sandman, Dreamer and Sabu ask about RVD's decision Rob Van Dam is in his locker room warming up, and Sabu, Dreamer and Sandman walk in. They ask RVD if he's made a decision yet. They say that they all know how much he loves ECW but also... they recognize that he earned that WWE Championship, and it wouldn't be fair if he was forced to give it up. Van Dam says that Stephanie McMahon has been talking to him all week, but no agreement so far. For now though, all he's focused on is beating Kurt Angle, and keeping the WWE Championship for as long as he can. He picks up his title belt and heads to the ring for the main event. Rating: 69 Rob Van Dam Vs. Kurt Angle - WWE Championship The biggest match that could possibly happen in the ECW brand main events this 4th of July episode. It is a big match feel, and it actually starts pretty slow, with RVD and Angle being careful in the early going. The crowd gets a little impatient at the slow start, but it improved as the pace picked up. Angle's technical prowess matched up against Van Dam's unorthodox style... and they also mixed it up by using a lot of weapons in the second half of the match. Angle has been adapting well to the hardcore style and isn't really at much of a disadvabtage in that scenario. Both guys are busted wide open and exausted... and Angle seems to be on his way to win when he goes for an Angle Slam... RVD slips out and hits a big DDT onto a chair! Van Dam knows that's not enough... he goes for the 5 Star Froggy... Angle jumps onto the top turnbucke! Super Angle Slam! "OH MY GODDDDDDD!" 1...2... KICK OUT! What the hell does Angle have to do to put RVD away? Angle pulls the straps down... Ankle Lock! RVD is striggling, will he tap? No, he rolls through and sends Angle head first into a chair propped against the turnbuckles! Van Dam rolls him up... 1..2..no! Kickout by Angle! Angle charges with a lariat... ducked by RVD... Spinning heel kick and Angle is down again! Van Dam climbs the turnbuckle... 5 Star Frog Splash! 1...2... KICK OUT! Now it's RVD that can't put Kurt Angle away! Now he props Angle against the corner... chair against his face... it's Vanterminator time! But Angle just manages to roll out of the ring! Van Dam goes after him... but Angle nails him with a trashcan lid right to the face! Van Dam seems out.... Angle nails another Angle Slam! 1..2.. still not enough! Angle is losing his patience and just punches RVD in the head repeatedly! Angle sets up a table and lifts Van Dam onto the top turnbuckle! He's thinking of a second Super Angle Slam! But Van Dam kicks him away! Angle punches him some more and grabs a chair, he's about to hit RVD with it... but RVD dives from the top and hits his trademark diving kick right onto the chair! Angle takes it right on the head almost like a Vandaminator and stmbles backwards as he is out on his feet, leaning against the table... Van Dam climbs the turnbuckle again...5 STAR FROG SPLASH! "OH MY GODDDDDDD!" ANGLE THROUGH THE TABLE! 1...2...3! Rob Van Dam is still WWE Champion after a grueling 25 minute match against one of the best in the world! Winner: Rob Van Dam (Pinfall via 5-Star Frog Splash) Rating: 77 Total Rating: 71

Venue: Local Large Arena Attendance: 10,000 Location: Alabama, United States Total Viewers: 7,787,108 Announcers: Michael Cole and Roddy Piper JBL steps over the line... again The show kicks off with Rey Mysterio coming out. He talks about what happened last week. He says that while he knows how bad JBL can be, he never expected him to go so low. Rey says that Eddie was his best friend, and to hear JBL say something so cruel about him really stunned him, it almost broke him. But tonight he's not stunned... he's angry and he's gonna kick JBL's ass! Rey drops the mic and is about to leave the ring, but Chris Benoit comes out. He gets in the ring and says "I'm sorry Rey, but you«re not gonna get the chance to fight JBL tonight. Because when I find him, I'm gonna rip his head off and leave him laying in a pool of his own blood!" Rey says he doesn't want that to happen, he knows that JBL has it coming but he is a proud champion and he wants to fight his own battles. Benoit says he doesn't give a damn about the World Heavyweight title right now, he wants to destroy JBL for what he said about Eddie! Then JBL's music hits and he comes out to the stage. Benoit looks about ready to explode just from looking at him, but Rey Mysterio holds him back. Bradshaw has a mic, and he gloats about beating Benoit last week, conveniently not saying a word about how that happened. He also says that he's in Rey Mysterio's head. He already defeated Mysterio's mind and later tonight he will defeat him physically and take the World Heavyweight Championship. "Rey, I will beat you just like I beat Eddie Guerrero two years ago. Because I'm just better than you... just like I was better than him. And Eddie can stop rolling in his grave every time you come out here and tarnish his legacy!" That last line sets Benoit off, he pushes Rey off and runs after JBL! Bradshaw runs away from him as Benoit is irate! Chavo Guerrero comes from the back and him and Rey Mysterio hold back Benoit as JBL escapes. Rating: 73 Matt Hardy Vs. Mr. KennedyHardy and Kennedy's grudge match is the first match on the show, and it ended up being really good. Like before, the match is pretty competitive, it goes kinda long and both guys get some close calls. Obviously Kennedy had been claiming he's "unpinned" so he is is getting more desperate with these close calls and every time Hardy is looking closer to a win. Hardy sends Kennedy onto the turnbluckle. He runs at him but Kennedy throws referee Mike Chioda in the way! The referee is down and Kennedy tries to escape, but Hardy just manages to catch him by his feet as he was trying to roll under the bottom rope. There's a camera man nearby, and Kennedy suddenly drives the camera onto Matt Hardy's face! The referee didn't see! Kennedy wakes up the ref and then drills Hardy with the Mic Check! 1...2...3! Kennedy was a step ahead once again, and this time he gets the win! Still unpinned! Winner: Mr. Kennedy (Weapon Usage via Mic Check) Rating: 84 Chavo confronts JBL and gets a match for tonight Josh Matthews is backstage with JBL. He asks him if he's concerned about Chris Benoit interfering in tonight's match, and possibly costing JBL the World Heayweight Championship. While Bradshaw appears rattled, he does say that he's not worried about Benoit because just like he dealt with him last week, he can do it again. He's interrupted by Chavo Guerrero, who tells him that he should be concerned, because he's sure that JBL would've been in an ambulance right now if it wasn't for himself and Rey Mysterio. Chavo says that he too wants to kick JBL's ass right now, but he won't do it because Rey wants to beat JBL at 100%. JBL asks Chavo if he isn't angry at Rey for tarnishing Eddie's legacy. Chavo pushes him and they're about to brawl, but King Booker walks in, with Sharmell. He says that he talked to Teddy Long after challenging Lashley and he told him that he needed a big win tonight to get a United States title match. So, since Chavo is in a fighting mood he challenges him to a match. Chavo says yes and walks off looking pissed off. JBL looks relieved but doesn't say anything. Rating: 73 The Congregation will take your donations Just like last week, a vignette airs with Shad Gaspard, JTG and "The Pope" Elijah Burke. This time, Pope is preaching to his two disciples. Once again, he talks about meaningless crime and how they shouldn't steal without a purpose. Then Shad and JTG take out some jewelry that they presumably stole. Pope puts it on and winks at the camera. he says "But in reality, it's all about purpose. And this purpose... really ain't that bad. The Congregation will always accept your donations." Pope, Shad and JTG then get into a bedazzled car with tinted windows. The car drives off and on the back of it we see a bumper sticker that says "Coming to Smackdown" Rating: 90 Tatanka Vs. SylvainKind of a nothing match here. Tatanka taunts a bunch, Sylvain always tries to get away from him. In the end, Sylvain pokes Tatanka in the eye and rolls him up for the win after like 4 minutes. Winner: Sylvain (Flash Pinfall) Rating: 54The Hall of Pain get two new members... or maybe not Mark Henry comes out after the match. Sylvain felt his wrath two weeks ago, so he gets the hell out of the ring and runs off. Tatanka doesn't though, and he squares up to Mark Henry. Tatanka gets the first shot it, but Henry overcomes him quickly and lays him out with a World's Strongest Slam. Then he gets a chair and hits Tatanka a bunch of times with it, before grabbing a mic. Then he unfolds the chair on top of Tatanka and sits on it, like he did last week to Gunner Scott. He then starts talking: "I told y'all to get out of my way. Do like Sylvain, be clever and run for your life. Or else you end up like Gunner Scott... or you end up like Tatanka, a new member in my Hall of Pain. But that's not the only induction I'm doing tonight. You see, I've been destroying so many people that I forgot one induction. A posthumous induction... for Batista. Because I took him out and he stayed home... and he's never coming back again. I ended his career! So Batista, allow me to formally induct you-" A video starts playing in the tiantron, interrupting Henry. We see a coffee table and an empty couch, but soon someone sits in it. It's... Batista! The crowd pops for Batista, we haven't seen him in months. He grins at the camera and places a protective arm brace on the table. He says: "You're right Mark, I've been staying at home lately. But don't worry... because I'm gonna be cleared very soon. And then, I'm gonna come back to kick your ass, and your Hall of Pain is getting closed early!"Rating: 76 X-Pac Vs. Billy KidmanCruiserweight action with high stakes now, with X-Pac and Kidman both in their first match post-return and the winner getting a championship match at Great American Bash. Gregory Helms, the Cruiseweight Champion, joins Cole and Piper at the announce desk. He says he doesn't care who wins because he's better than both X-Pac and Kidman. There's a reason they were let go by WWE and he was not. Meanwhile in the ring, X-Pac and Kidman have an alright match with good fast-paced action. Obviously though, it didn't take very long for this to break down. X-Pac and Kidman are fighting on the outside and X-Pac throws Kidman onto Helms. They get back into the ring and not long after Helms runs in and lays both men out. He hits both contenders with the Cruiserweight Championship. The referee calls for the bell and the match is declared a no contest, and the crowd hates it. Winner: Draw (Match Called Off) Rating: 47 Triple Threat, playa! Helms is admiring his handywork after ruining the #1 contender's match. Honestly, it's like he doesn't know how wrestling works. Of course, Teddy Long comes out to ruin his parade, and makes a triple threat match for the Great American Bash. Helms vs Kidman vs X-Pac for the Cruiserweight Championship! Rating: 55 Chavo hypes up Rey and Benoit makes a promise In the locker room, Rey and Chavo are both warming up foer their matches. Benoit is also there and looks tense. Chavo tells Rey that he wants him to kick JBL's ass. Not just for him, or for Eddie, but for Rey himself too. He tells Rey not to worry about the things JBL has been saying, and that he's there for Rey no matter what. Rey thanks Chavo and then turns to Benoit, who has been quiet. Rey asks Benoit to be patient, stay in the back and let him handle JBL tonight. Benoit replies that JBL has an asskicking coming, and he wants to get his hands on him soon... but he'll respect Rey's wishes and stay out of it for tonight. But in return, Rey needs to retain his title and shut JBL up. Rating: 65 Jamie Noble Vs. Brian Kendrick One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions meets one half of the #1 contenders. Cole mentions on commentary that since Noble and Kash beat the champions last week in trios action, the two teams will face off for the titles at Great American Bash. It's a good match between Noble and Kendrick, they both put on a big effort with their partners cheering them on at ringside. After around 11 minutes it looks like Kendrick has the upper hand, he's hit Noble with some big moves but was unable to pull him away. Kendrick goes for another one as he climbs to the top rope... but on the outside Kash throws London into the ring post! Kendrick sees it and is distracted for a moment, and it's enough for Noble to climb the turnbuckle as well and deliver a Superplex. Then Noble nails Kendrick with the Tiger Bomb and gets the win. Winner: Jamie Noble (Pinfall via Tiger Bomb) Rating: 71 Khali tries to make another statement... but he's spoiled by a return! An unknown young man is in the ring for a match. However, it's not his scheduled opponent that comes out, but The Great Khali. He gets in the ring and the kid is terrified, but charges at him regardless. Khali easily overpowers him, and lays him out with the Plunge. Khali then gets the steel steps, and it looks like he's about to repeat what he did last week when... GONG! The lights go off... they come back on and... IT'S THE UNDERTAKER! He's finally back! And Undertaker and Khali brawl! Undertaker gets the better of him though... and then he gets the steel steps and hits Khali with them! Khali goes down and just manages to roll out of the ring. But Daivari then hits the Undertaker from behind... which is a terrible idea, because it does nothing to him. Undertaker just stares at Daivari intimidatingly... while he just asks for forgiveness. Which he doesn't get, because The Undertaker picks him up... Tombstone Piledriver! Undertaker then looks at Khali who is still at ringside... it's clear that he's coming after him! Rating: 79 King Booker Vs. Chavo Guerrero Booker and Chavo have a pretty good match in the semi-main event spot. It's a 16 minute match featuring a lot of good wrestling. Queen Sharmell is at ringside cheering the King on.. but of course she ends up doing more than that as she distracts Chavo while he's going for a Frog Splash. The referee throws her out and Chavo goes for it anyways, but the extra time was just enough for Booker to get his knees up. Then Booker nails Chavo with the Scissors Kick, but he kicks out! With Sharmell out the contest is one on one, and they wrestle for a while longer. Eventually Chavo is delivering the Three Amigos, but Booker manager to slip out of the third suplex and then nails Chavo with a sudden Book End to get a hard fought win. Winner: King Booker (Pinfall via Book End) Rating: 82Lashley wants revenge, but Booker gets the last laugh The bell rings and Booker is celebrating, when Bobby Lashley's music hits. The United States Champion wants revenge from last week and charges right at Booker. The two of them brawl until Finlay, who was conspicuous by his absence until now, attacks Lashley from behind wih his shillellagh. Booker then hits a Scissors Kick to Lashley and picks up the United States title, standing tall over the champion. Rating: 75 The World Heavyweight Champion gets some more encouragement Rey Mysterio is heading to the ring for his title defense when a woman stops him... it's Vickie Guerrero! She tells Rey that she's gonna be watching from the back and she hopes that Rey wins. She says that JBL will be sorry that he ever spoke her husband's name. Rey promises Vickie he will make JBL shut up and thanks her forthe support. They share a hug and then Rey keeps heading to the ring. Rating: 69 Rey Mysterio Vs. JBL - WWE World Heavyweight Championship It's a big match feel and Rey Mysterio's title reign feels in a lot of jeopardy in this match against the sickening JBL. Despite everything that JBL has done, Rey appears focused on his task tonight and getting the win.Bradshaw has trouble dealing with the champion's speed in the early portion of the match. JBL does the Eddie Guerrero taunt, mocking him... and that sets off Rey Mysterio, who lunges at JBL. He nails him with some hard shots and JBL goes down, but after a while JBL manages to catch a running Mysterio with a huge boot to the face! Then JBL goes for the Powerbomb... but Rey reverses it into a Hurricanrana that sends JBL to the ropes! He goes for the 619... and he nails it! Now Rey does Eddie Guerrero's taunt... and is climbing the turnbuckle for the Frog Splash to finish JBL! But he's tired so he takes a bit too long and JBL manages to roll out of the ring. While Mysterio is going after him JBL grabs a chair from under the apron and slides it into the ring. Mysterio throws JBL back into the ring... but while the referee is distracted with the chair, JBL nails Rey with a low blow! Rey Mysterio crumbles down in pain! And now JBL is signaling for the Clothesline From Hell! Not this way! But wait... Chris Benoit comes from the back and lunges at JBL! He takes out Bradshaw with a big German Suplex! But the bell rings! The referee saw Benoit's attack and has no choice but to award JBL the win via DQ... but that means Rey Mysterio retains the World Heavyweight Championship! Winner: JBL (Interference DQ) Rating: 74 JBL gets exactly what he had coming, but Rey Mysterio isn't happy! Benoit doesn't seem to care when the bell rings however, he gets on top of JBL and punches him in the face over and over again. Then he grabs the steel chair that JBL had gotten and delivers a stiff shot to his head! It echoed all around the arena! Then Benoit locks the Crossface on JBL, who got busted wide open from the chair. JBL taps desperately, but Benoit doesn't let go even as more referees try to pull him off. JBL keeps tapping until he fades unconscious. Meanwhile Rey Mysterio is back on his feet and stares down Benoit, he's clearly not happy with the interference. The referees help JBL up... Benoit grabs the chair again and delivers a second brutal chairshot to JBL's bloody head for good measure! JBL collapses again! Rey pushes Benoit and they have a tense staredown... and then Benoit leaves the ring. Rey Mysterio looks at him as the show ends. Rating: 83 Total Rating: 77

RAW: Regal vs. HBK would be great. I don't ever remember seeing it happen (Cagematch actually confirmed to me that nope, it didn't happen). The McMahons will obviously take both DX out of the tournament. And I really want that to happen, so they can get their revenge and we don't have to see them for a bit. I'm liking Steph's character, tho. Orton keeps being ruthless. Cool segment with Flair and Cody. "It's time for the entire RAW roster to bow to Nitro... again." - a single simple (but smart) wordplay can add so much to a promo. Specially to a promo of someone not as skilled in that department as Nitro. Cool touch. You're building the women's division properly. Lita and Trish won't work together, obviously, but I think neither will Victoria and Mickie. Jeff vs. Shelton is building your next IC title feud more than anything, I'd say. Righfully so. Cool little segment between Cody and Steph. Fair call too. Strong ending to a nice RAW, with Umaga being a menace and costing HHH a spot in the semis. Damn, I thought HBK would be eliminated after an interference instead of HHH, but you opted to spoil the worst first round match of the night instead. Right call, I give you that.
ECW: You have me curious about the Impact Players' partner for next week... I immediately thought Shane Douglas, but that would probably be too big to be a sidekick (assuming it's a sidekick). Hmmm... Spike? Candido?... Lynn and Mercury can have a cool midcard rivalry. Punk and Foley's story is developing nicely, but I assume Mick will take action soon. Great main event that definitely deserved more than a 77 rating. Making the wrong decision by opting to trigger the "epic match" option is the story of my life, tbh. I'm tempted to assume Angle will get a bit depressive as the result of his loss.
SD!: JBL is a heat magnet with his mouth shut, so one can only imagine him saying things like that. He's a bit dumb too, as he has three rivals now. "Unpinned" Kennedy is developing into something cool, I'm sure. The Congregation is really a dirtier twist of the Cryme Tyme gimmick. Looking forward to see who will they target first. Batista interrupting Henry would've been huge after so many months. SmackDown really kinda needs him, even if that means someone is probably going to need to turn heel. Yeah, obvious. Helms vs. Kidman vs. X-Pac is good for business. Two huge returns in a single night? Cool! I wonder if you'll can Khali's push or if he's going over Taker. AH! I knew Benoit wouldn't stay out of the main event... but in all fairness, JBL really deserved it and it was the only way Rey Rey could retain. I don't think Benoit is the one turning heel, as he's been nothing but humane through the whole story. And being off the roids I can see him becoming a bigger thing in the SmackDown roster.
