Main Event: Special Singles MatchTetsuya Naito defeated Hiromu Takahashi in 15:37 with a hurricanrana countered into a powerbomb.-This wasn’t the all-out insanity most people expected when this nontitle match between the Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight champions was announced, and instead seemed to be a way to put Naito over strong against his fellow LIJ member. Hiromu did pretty well early on with some counters that led into his offense, but after connecting with a couple of hurricanranas he had one countered into a powerbomb that finished him. Match Evaluation: 71%The rest of LIJ came out for the end of show celebration. The group remained united, but EVIL, SANADA and Shingo all reminded Naito that they were in the New Japan Cup and gunning for the heavyweight title shot that goes to the winner.

Excited for this TFC. Push Suzuki to the moon, I don't care how old he is!

Excited for this TFC. Push Suzuki to the moon, I don't care how old he is! That'll be up to the Fire Pro AI, not me. I'm not actually deciding who wins anything; I'm just tinkering with each guy's skills and logic and leaving it up to the game AI to do the rest.

Up Next: The New Japan Cup
I tried like seven times to upload the bracket graphic to my imgur, but apparently it hates me and doesn't want to do that, so I'll try direct linking instead.
Rather than running full shows for all of these nights, I'm going to do strictly tournament matches until the last night, which will have the tournament final and a full undercard. In the meantime, you can feel free to guess at the overall tournament winner if you like. If anyone does so correctly I'll throw in a little prize like choosing someone to get a stat boost or something, assuming I continue this past the New Japan Cup.

Having a dinasty based on a game you can't predict is... something. Courageous ahah
Hoping the AI likes Shingo as much as I do. Wouldn't mind having the old lion Tanahashi winning the NJ Cup tho.

It's interesting, to be sure. I'm a little over halfway through the first round, and the standout match so far (by the game's rating system at least) was Juice Robinson vs. Alex Coughlin, despite my best efforts to lower Coughlin's skills as much as reasonably possible.

Oh my, that was unexpected, for sure.
