February 10, 1984, would forever go down as the date that was essentially the beginning of the end of the storied Von Erich wrestling dynasty that dominated World Class Championship Wrestling. Just a few weeks earlier, Hulkamania started to take over the WWF when Hulk Hogan defeated the Iron Sheik inside Madison Square Garden for the WWF Championship. Hulkamania would wind up running wild across not only the U.S.A., but across the globe as Hogan and WWF owner, Vince McMahon, would make the WWF a household name across the entire United States, and eventually, the globe. Meanwhile, tragedies and scandals would lead WCCW to go out with a whimper. But what if things had worked out differently? Actually, what if one thing had changed, somewhere in the world? JANUARY 23, 1984
Yes, Hulk Hogan still won the title from Iron Sheik. In fact, the entire card went off as planned... save for one tag team match. The Invaders wrestled Mr. Fuji and Tiger Chung Lee to a time limit draw in the universe we live in. However, in this alternate reality, the Invaders no showed the event... Well, actually, one of the Invaders no showed. Gorilla Monsoon, who had a stake in the Puerto Rican company, World Wrestling Council, had informed the Invaders of the finish hours before the event. Invader #1, Jose Gonzalez, was not happy that his team would be wrestling to a draw. His partner, Invader #2 (Roberto Soto) had no qualms about it, but Jose threw a fit and refused to show up, and went so far as to pack his belongings and fly back to Puerto Rico. His partner stayed and offered to put either Mr. Fuji or Tiger Chung Lee over clean to make up for what had happened. Vince McMahon agreed, and Invader #2 would job clean to Tiger Chung Lee in a shortened 8 minute match that saw Mr. Fuji throw "salt" (really, it was powder, but you know, kayfabe!) into Invader #2's eyes behind the ref's back, allowing Tiger Chung Lee to grab Invader #2 and defeat him by pinfall following a double underhook suplex. Okay, so not exactly a clean finish. But as they say: "Mr. Fuji is a HEEEEEEL!" So how does this one change in events effect the wrestling timeline four years later? Who will be the major players when the mod starts in April 1988? Did WrestleMania become a thing? Did the Rock 'n' Roll Express feud with the Midnight Express? Is Chris Cruise still a miserable louse that hates everyone and holidays? These questions and more will be answered when this mod releases sometime hopefully in the not so distant future.

I want to thank Asaemon in advance for his additional graphics that I'll be using, and for his offer to help make any new graphics I might need down the line. And credit to justtxyank for his nGo picture pack, which I will be combining with Taker's cuts & Asaemon's additional graphics. Jaysin, who has taken over Risky Business, will be letting me grab any data I need, so big thanks to him. I've been making some headway already and hope to have the WWF, if not another company, by the end of this month.

Really hyped to find out more about this alternative history. I'm equally as hyped to share the history. Did a bit more work today, and about to do a little bit more work on it. I did add a few Yet to Debut workers and wrote up new bios for them as this change in the timeline no doubt has altered their path in history.

Just wanted to post a small little update that I'm still plugging along on this and having fun at that. I also wanted to talk about something I'll be doing for this mod, an idea I got from Fleisch's RWC series of mods that were released on TEW 2013 and TEW 2016. If you remember, he would have alter egos for workers that retained the same name of said worker, i.e. Hulk Hogan, then an alter ego called Hulk Hogan (WWE). Then Bret Hart, followed by alter ego Bret Hart (WWE), so on and so forth. While I won't do this for every worker, there will be a number of workers that have alter egos that match their default name. I thought it would be a good way to help flesh out more of the story for those times I run out of space in the bio section of a worker's default profile.

Can't wait to find out more about this alternative timeline. Thank you very much! As much as I want to share everything that's happened, I want to keep what hasn't already been shared in the introductory posts under wraps for the surprise factor, to see what people's reactions will be. There's also the fact that I'm having to make changes and tweaks along the way to make sure there aren't problems with continuity. Which brings me to this update I posted elsewhere. I'll just copy and paste for those of you who don't visit other places: The WWF is pretty much done. I'll skim over it one more time just to be sure. In the meantime, Jaysin gave me permission to go back to my old Risky Business data (which I'm sure he'll do even better!), and in doing so, I'll be concentrating my efforts on title histories. I won't spoil too much, but the title histories should tell you the story of where some workers have worked in the four years between the change in timeline and April 1988, details that may not necessarily be covered in bios, alter ego bios, etc. due to space constraints. It will also help me stay on top of any continuity errors as I have had some ideas pop up, then I changed my mind. So this will help me keep track and go back and rewrite any bios I may have already written up.
And I know the editor's notepad has had quite a bit of heat, and I understand where people who may not like it are coming from. So I am only speaking for myself, but the notepad has proven to be a valuable tool for me as I've used it to jot down the ideas that have come into my head (thank you, Kijar, for the suggestion). Again, to help me stay on track and prevent any continuity errors. Yes, I can use the Notepad program that comes with computers. But it is nice having it right there and not having to open more programs than I want to open.

Just wanted to post an update here that this project is still on-going. I managed to clean up some title histories that have had inaccuracies and/or missing information. The title lineage I'm working on at the moment is the NWA Women's Tag Team Titles. Also, while this won't be a major thing in the mod as it's quite tedious and is more cosmetic than anything, there will be some workers who will have job histories, but it won't cover their entire career. It'll be mostly for workers who have just left a company right before the data start date of April 1988.
