Armageddon 2003Live from the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orland, Florida
RAW PPV
Theme: "Going Under" by Evanescence
Sunday Night Heat Matt Anoa'i with Rico vs. Jon Heidenreich
- Heidenreich has been looking for a RAW contract for the last few months. He's interrogated people like Chuck Palumbo and A-Train in getting one, but it seems that any chances of getting noticed has gone ignored. He approached Thuggin 'n' Buggin and Theodore Long for the same offer, but was denied. Heidenreich was enraged by the continued denials, and was given a chance by the new co-GM. Unfortunately, Eric Bischoff was allowed to choose the opponent, and he chose Matt Anoa'i. If Jon can beat Matt, he will get a RAW contract. Can Jon finally earn the thing he's been desperate for? Or will Matt squash his dreams before they've come true?
Main Card
Billy Gunn vs. A-Train
- Due to being on the winning team, all of Team Bischoff was granted a "favor" from the GM. Due to his elimination by Gunn at Survivor Series, A-Train has made it his mission to stop the veteran in his tracks at every turn. For weeks, A-Train has blindsided Gunn backstage, on the way to the ring, even in matches on both RAW and Heat. Train asked and was granted this match as his favor from Eric. Can A-Train roll over Gunn like the steam engine he is? Or can the veteran Gunn pull one out of nowhere and defeat the big man?
WWE Intercontinental Title with Mick Foley as Special Ref
Jeff Hardy (C) vs. Randy Orton with Ric Flair
- Eric didn't have long to celebrate his success. Right after Vince gave Eric a passing grade for his performance review, Linda came out and revealed that just because Austin lost his job, does not mean that there isn't going to be a replacement. She introduced the new co-GM of RAW: Mick Foley. Foley told Eric that he was going to fix things in Austin's absence and started a petition to be presented to the Board of Directors to get Austin rehired. On top of that, Foley took over Austin's role of booking the Intercontinental Title ranks. However, before too long, Orton and Foley had a confrontation in the ring. Orton wanted a shot at the Intercontinental Title for his "favor", and after a brief intermission, Foley gave Orton his shot, but told him that HE would be the special referee to make sure there isn't any chicanery from Evolution. On top of that, Jeff won a battle royal to win a shot at the title, and the following week, defeated Rob Van Dam in their third encounter in the main event to finally win the title and end what had become the longest reigning Intercontinental Title reign in history. Now with the story changed, Jeff will have his first title defense against Orton. Can Jeff hold onto the gold he just reclaimed? Or will Orton dethrone the Enigma before he can get his feet off the ground?
1 on 2 Handicap Match
Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho and Christian
- Jericho and Christian both gained favors following their participation on Team Bischoff. The two of them are best friends, and have been together as a team for over a year. Jericho wanted to go for the World Tag Team Titles, but Christian told him that they don't need to go to that well anymore. Jericho was frustrated, and that frustration cost him a match against RVD. The following week, the two of them attacked RVD after his aforementioned loss to Hardy. Jericho cashed in his favor and had this match booked from Armageddon. Christian, however, had retained his, something Eric made perfectly clear. The next week, Christian defeated RVD in a one-on-one match following interference by Jericho. With momentum and the numbers game on their side, can Y2J and the CLB defeat the Whole Dam Show? Or will RVD defy the odds and defeat the Canadian duo?
Final Encounter Last Man Standing Match
Hulk Hogan vs. Shane McMahon
- At Survivor Seres, Shane was in Team Bischoff's corner, but was unfortunately taken out by Booker. On that same night, Hogan managed to defeat Shawn Michaels in a bloody and entertaining match. The night after, Hogan teamed with Shawn Michaels once again to take on the team of Triple H and Batista. While that match alone had a litany of storylines tied to it, the key one here is that Hogan was distracted from the match, taken out during it by a chair shot from Shane that busted him open. The next week, Hogan and Shane were going to have a confrontation in the ring until Shane blindsided him, whacking him with a chair a few times and busting him open again. Later that night, Hogan went to Foley and requested another match with Shane. Foley was hesitant, but agreed to it on the condition that it be their last encounter...and that it be a Last Man Standing. In the remaining weeks, these two traded barbs, with Hogan hellbent on teaching Shane a lesson in humility, and Shane more focused on finishing his father's mission: ending Hulkamania permanently. Which of these two men can stay standing for a 10 count and complete their mission?
Booker T vs. Batista with Ric Flair
- At Survivor Series, Batista interfered to cost Team Austin the match, thus ending Austin's career. Booker confronted Bischoff and blamed him for it, but Eric rebutted that Booker lost the match, Booker is to blame. Booker wasn't gonna take that lying down and told Eric that if it wasn't for him and Evolution, and before he could finish his sentence, Batista came out. Batista took the blame for everything, telling Booker that it was HIM who Batista Bombed him in the ring and cost Austin everything. Eric saw the writing on the wall and made this match official. Booker interfered in the tag match mentioned earlier, separating Batista from the pack and brawling with him backstage. Things turned intense when the two kept brawling in the following weeks. Eventually, Batista caught Booker, choking him and causing Booker to pass out and blood internally from the mouth. Can Batista's power and dominance topple the 6 time World Champion? Or will Booker pull one out of his hat and conquer the Animal?
WWE World Tag Team Titles in Tag Team Turmoil
The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-von Dudley) (C) vs. La Resistance (Robert Conway and Rene Dupree) vs. Mark Henry and Rodney Mack with Theodore Long vs. Lance Storm and Maven vs. Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak vs. Val Venis and Goldust
- Bischoff wanted Armageddon to be the best it could be, and thus made the Dudley's defend their titles in Tag Team Turmoil. Venis and Goldust are a fairly newer team, having a few matches under their belt on Heat. Cade and Jindrak are a team of arrogant newcomers, and are looking to step up in a big way. Storm took Maven under his wing, and the master-protégé team want a chance for some gold. Henry and Mack, Thuggin 'n' Buggin Enterprises, have been a menace on RAW all year, and finally get a chance to add some gold to the unit. La Resistance have held those belts before, and with Sylvain Grenier on the shelf, now is the chance for them to stand out. Can The Dudleys overcome the turmoil and retain their titles?
Goldberg vs. Shawn Michaels
- Bischoff confronted Goldberg after Survivor Series and asked him point blank how he wanted to cash in his favor from being on Team Bischoff. All he did was pull out a picture of Shawn Michaels and tear it in half. The following week, while Shawn was looking to save Kevin Nash from a beatdown, Goldberg popped in and Speared the hell out of him. HBK managed to get one over on him by hitting him with Sweet Chin Music mid-Spear, but with the monster on the lose and looking for blood, can Shawn Michaels do the seemingly impossible and topple Goldberg? Or will RAW's monster continue his undefeated dominance by destroying the Heartbreak Kid?
WWE Title in a No Holds Barred
Triple H (C) vs. Kevin Nash
- Kevin Nash surprised everybody after the aforementioned tag match between Hogan and HBK and HHH and Batista. He returned and stopped Triple H from beating down on Shawn with a sledgehammer. The next week, the two embraced in the ring, with HHH wanting to welcome Nash back in Evolution. Nash told him he would love to team back up with HHH, but in the Kliq, and he wants to do it properly with Shawn by their side. HHH told Nash that things between him and Shawn would never be the same again. Later in the night, Nash and HHH teamed up to tag on The Dudley Boyz. Things looked great, and that they were poised to win, but Evolution played their hand. With the Dudleys taken out by Thuggin 'n' Buggin, that left Nash to be nailed with a kick down low by HHH. Evolution appeared and beat down Nash, bloodying him. Shawn tried to make the save, but as mentioned before, Goldberg stopped it. Nash went to Bischoff, demanding HHH, but Bischoff told him he couldn't just give him a title match. Foley agreed, but made the match anyway, making it No Holds Barred. The title wasn't set to be on the line until Nash defeated Flair on the go-home show. He wanted to take the title from HHH to stick it to him, but afterwards, the two started a brawl that bled out into the streets. HHH managed to hijack somebody's car, but not before the two of them beat the hell out of each other. Can The Game retain his title and conquer his demons? Or will Nash defeat his former friend and take the one thing most precious to Triple H along with it?

Armageddon 2003Live from the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orland, Florida
RAW PPV
Theme: "Going Under" by Evanescence
Sunday Night Heat Matt Anoa'i with Rico vs. Jon Heidenreich
Winner: Matt Anoa'i at 3:28
Result: While the build-up might have led some to believe that Jon might actually have a chance, alas, that was a mistake. Jon did get a bit of offense by getting a hot start on Matt, so while that is nice and it's fun to see Jon beat on Matt a bit, things take a turn when Jon goes for a flying axe handle. Matt crushes Jon mid-air. From there it's academic as Matt slams Jon repeatedly, taking him down until eventually hitting him with a pop-up Samoan Drop. Rico tells Matt to crush him so Matt hits a Flying Big Splash to Jon to end his dream before it even starts.
Main Card
Before the event starts, Lillian Garcia sings the National Anthem on behalf of the United States since we captured Saddam Hussein around this time.
(the only difference is that instead of Kane, Triple H, and Goldberg it's clips of Triple H and Kevin Nash)
Billy Gunn vs. A-Train
Winner: Billy Gunn at 8:20
Result: The match is really back and forth at the start with Gunn managing to get out of any of Train's strikes and slams. Gunn goes for a Fameasser early, but it costs him as Train manages to get out of it and take him down with a Bicycle Kick. Train then takes it to Gunn by keeping him down and focusing on his ribs. Train looks to end it by going for a Train Wreck, but Gunn gets out and starts to beat on him. Gunn goes for the ropes, but Train clotheslines him down. Train continues to tear Gunn down. Eventually, Train goes for a Vader Bomb, but Gunn gets his foot up. That's when Gunn starts to fight back. Eventually, Gunn goes for a Fameasser, but Train fights out of it, sending him to a corner. Train charges and Gunn dodges, sending the big man chest first with a ton of impact. On the rebound, Gunn manages to hit a Fameasser to pick up the win.
Afterwards, Gunn celebrates for a bit before turning around into a Superkick by Chuck Palumbo. Chuck beats on Billy for a few moments before ending it with the Natural Thriller. Chuck and Train take a few moments of a staredown before leaving. Train then hits a Derailer to Gunn to satisfy himself.
------------------
Before the next match, we go backstage where Eric Bischoff is reveling in Gunn's demise. He turns to Jericho and Christian. Bischoff tells them that they are going to destroy RVD once and for all, and since he's no longer the IC Champ, he's open season for Eric. He gives them something of a pep talk with Jericho almost annoyed at the two of them. Christian does all the talking before heading out. Y2J tries to talk to Eric about something, but the GM gets distracted by the new co-GM Mick Foley coming out.
Mick Foley comes out and says that the petition for bringing Stone Cold back has reached 1 million signatures. He campaigns a bit for Stone Cold before wanting to celebrate by bringing out Stacy Kiebler in a cheerleader outfit. She does a couple of cartwheels. Foley does one of his own (or tries to). That's when Randy Orton and Ric Flair come out. The former tells them to cut his music. He is incensed. He tells Foley to take this seriously and stop living off of Stone Cold's name. Orton and Evolution got rid of Stone Cold at Survivor Series once and for all. He then tells Foley that he will spit in his face because Foley is past his prime. Foley is not a legend. Foley is a joke for WWE and Linda to bust out when he's the only option left. Foley looks like he's going to fight, but instead tells Orton that since he's out there and Foley is out there, he's deciding to move up the title shot Orton had and that that match...is now! He tells Jeff to get out there. He takes off his suit to reveal a referee shirt.
WWE Intercontinental Title with Mick Foley as Special Ref
Jeff Hardy (C) vs. Randy Orton with Ric Flair
Winner: Randy Orton at 17:59
Result: At the risk of cutting things short on what was absolutely a stellar match, it's very similar to the original one but with RVD and his moveset replaced with Jeff's. At the end, Jeff goes for a Swanton Bomb, but Flair hops on the apron with some brass knuckles. Foley punches him down. This is distraction enough for Orton to dropkick Jeff in the leg, sending him crashing to the mat in a very uncomfortable way. When Jeff gets up, Orton hits him with an RKO and Foley reluctantly counts it.
------------------
Before the next match, Hulk Hogan is backstage giving an interview with Terri Runnells. He starts getting into it talking about what he's going to do to Shane McMahon before that same man whacks Hulk in the back of the leg with a lead pipe. A smirking Shane beats on Hulk's leg a few times before telling him that it's hard to be a Last Man Standing...when you can't even stand. Shane heads out with laughter as Hulk is looked at by some EMTs.
1 on 2 Handicap Match
Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho and Christian
Winners: Chris Jericho and Christian at 6:37
Result: Jericho and Christian use their numbers advantage to keep RVD down for the cusp of the match up until RVD reverses a Lionsault by getting his knees up. RVD takes it to both men for a bit before going for a Rolling Thunder. Christian moves Y2J out of the way, sending RVD into the mat. Jericho beats on RVD for a bit before locking in the Walls of Jericho. RVD fights out and gets to the ropes. Jericho says that that's enough and goes up top. He waits for RVD to get up. Just before Jericho dives, Christian blind tags himself in. Jericho dives off into a spinning heel kick mid-air. RVD uses what strength he has left and gets to the top. He kicks Christian off the apron when he tries to stop him. RVD readjusts and hits a Five Star Frog Splash to Jericho. Before he can even think about going for the pin, Christian rushes in and hits an Unprettier to him to seal the deal.
Afterwards, Christian celebrates like he won the world title. Y2J eventually gets up and looks peeved while holding his ribs. Christian is unaware and celebrates with his friend like nothing's wrong. They leave together with Y2J looking mightily annoyed at Christian's tactics and usage of him.
------------------
Before the next match, we get a promo detailing how we got there.
Final Encounter Last Man Standing Match
Hulk Hogan vs. Shane McMahon
Winner: Hulk Hogan at 9:16
Result: Hogan comes out with a visible limp even as Jimi Hendrix serenades him to the ring. Once Hogan is there and ready to go, Shane immediately targets the leg. Hogan fights him off, but a well timed chop block takes him down. Shane grabs a pipe he brought out with him and whacks Hogan in the leg a couple times. Hogan tries to fight back, but Shane eventually pops him a couple times in the head, busting Hulk open. This nets him a 7 count. Shane whacks Hogan with the pipe in the kneecap that gets him an 8. Shane shakes his head and brings out a chair. He whacks Hulk in the back with it and then the face, getting him another 8. Shane places Hogan's injured leg, specifically the ankle, inside the chair whilst the latter is on the mat. Shane gets to the second rope and goes to stomp it, but Hogan moves. Hogan fights out of the chair and takes it to Shane despite the injured leg. He punches him a few times before busting out the weight belt. He whips Shane in the back with it before punching him in the face with the belt buckle. Hulk grabs the chair and whacks Shane in the face with it, busting HIM open. The chair is dented all to hell. Hogan goes for a Leg Drop, but his leg gives out on him. Hogan beats on it a few times before going for it again, but Shane moves. The ref counts them. Shane gets up at 6 while Hulk gets up at 8. Hulk goes for Shane, who ducks down and low blows the Immortal. While the ref counts that, netting Hulk a 9, Shane brings in a portion of the steel steps. He shacks Hulk with it, netting another 9. Shane puts a seated Hulk in the corner. He sets the steel steps against him before climbing up. He goes for Coast to Coast, but Hulk moves out of the way, sending Shane into the mat and ricocheting the steps back onto him. Despite the pain, Shane starts fighting Hulk, leading into the Hulkster Hulking Up. He does the "you!" and beats on Shane, slamming him into the mat a couple times. Hulk goes for the Leg Drop, but stops and sees the stairs. He grabs them and beats on Shane with them. He hits a slam onto the steps before hitting the ropes. He hits the Running Leg Drop while Shane is hanging off the ropes. That nets a 9, so Hulk hits Shane with the lead pipe and then another Running Leg Drop. That'll do it.
------------------
Before the next match, Bischoff is seen backstage. He is furious with Hogan. He tells his monster, Goldberg, that tonight, he wants him to eradicate Shawn Michaels. Goldberg simply nods before walking off. He then turns to Christian, who is looking smug. Christian tells Eric that it's time to talk about his favor.
After that, we get a video package detailing how we got to the next match.
Booker T vs. Batista with Ric Flair
Winner: Booker T at 12:28
Result: It is the same match that HBK and Batista had in real life but with Booker's moveset swapped in for Shawn's. The end comes when Booker goes for a Scissors Kick, but Batista catches him mid-move and hits a Spinebuster. Batista then hits him with another one. Batista goes for the finish, upon which Flair gets on the apron, telling Booker it's over. Booker reverses the Batista Bomb into a leg catapult, sending Batista into Flair and Flair to the floor. Booker kicks Batista in the gut and hits a Scissors Kick to him. He throws an arm over Batista's chest to do it.
Afterwards, when Booker has left, Flair consoles with Batista who is livid. He doesn't leave even as referees and producers come out to force his exit. After a commercial for the DVD release of Mick Foley’s Greatest Hits & Misses, we come back to Batista still enraged and refusing to leave. Before too long, Jon Heidenreich comes out with a mic. He tells the world that he can't get a contract the way he wanted to, so he's gonna prove he deserves it...by taking it. He gets in the ring and starts to brawl with Batista for a bit. Jon goes for a clothesline, but Batista just stands tall. An incensed Batista hits Jon with three Spinebusters and then a Batista Bomb. He looks to be leaving, but instead opts to come back in and hit Jon with another Batista Bomb.
------------------
Before the next match, we go backstage where Batista is still enraged. He paces and fumes until Flair stops him and tells him that it happens, they all trip, failures happen. The good ones, get back up and get back in the game. Flair tells Batista to forget about Booker. He has something special for him and that they are walking out of the building as champions. They then walk off.
WWE World Tag Team Titles in Tag Team Turmoil
The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-von Dudley) (C) vs. La Resistance (Robert Conway and Rene Dupree) vs. Mark Henry and Rodney Mack with Theodore Long vs. Lance Storm and Maven vs. Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak vs. Val Venis and Goldust vs. Evolution (Batista and Ric Flair)
Winners: Evolution at 18:38
Result: 1. La Resistance and Storm and Maven start. The heels take it to Storm and Maven for a good bit of time until Storm lowers the top rope, taking Conway out of the ring. Storm then dropkicks Dupree, allowing him a chance to tag in Maven for the hot tag. He takes it to La Resistance for a little bit before tagging in Storm once more. Maven and Storm double dropkick Conway out of the ring. Maven focuses on him as Storm hits a Superkick to Dupree to eliminate the Frenchman. 2. Storm and Maven stand tall in the ring and wait patiently for Cade and Jindrak to come out. Jindrak rushes out from behind and throws Maven out of the ring. Cade wastes no time and hits a school boy to Storm, hooking the tights for good measure to eliminate them. 3. Venis and Goldust are next. They have a bit of time over Cade and Jindrak before an ill timed Shattered Dreams turns into Cade nailing a harsh right hand to him. Goldust kicks out, but he is not in a good way. Jindrak and Cade double team Goldust for a bit until Jindrak goes for a clothesline. Goldust ducks and it nails Cade. This allows Goldust to get the hot tag on Venis. He takes out both men with various moves before going for a Suplex to Jindrak. Cade grabs the leg, causing Mark to fall on Venis. Cade holds the leg down, leaving Venis unable to kickout and allowing Jindrak to score the elimination. 4. The Dudleys are out next and they take it to the young team quickly. Bubba goes for a Bubba Bomb, but a ref distraction by Cade allows Mark to heel kick Bubba down low. They then focus on Bubba's arm for a bit. After a bit of heel work, Bubba catches a right hand by Cade, headbutting him down. He then gets the hot tag to D-von who starts to build up some momentum. Eventually, Jindrak goes for a Mark of Perfection to D-von. He gets out from behind, grabbing Mark by the back of the head and sending him out over the top. Cade goes for an Irish whip, but D-von reverses it, leading into a 3D to Cade to take him out. 5. Henry and Mack come out ready to go. They take it to D-von, who refuses to tag in Bubba. Eventually, Mack has a Blackout locked in D-von. Bubba breaks that up though. After a bit more work, Henry goes for a World's Strongest Slam. Bubba gets in and climbs to the second rope. Mark celebrates by walking around the ring. Bubba hits a clothesline from there to Mark with his good arm. This sends both men down but allows D-von to fall on Mark. Bubba follows this all up by clotheslining Mack out of the ring, but Henry kicks out. Bubba starts to celebrate even as D-von moves Mark over. Bubba gets back on the second rope and hits a back senton from there. He briefly leaves the ring as D-von covers Mark. Bubba pops back in and lies on D-von's back to secure themselves the win. 6. Before the Dudleys celebrate for too long, Eric Bischoff comes out and reveals that there is a seventh team for them to beat. Evolution, Batista and Flair specifically, come out and it's academic. After beating on Bubba's arm and D-von for a bit, Flair locks in a Figure 4 on the former while Batista hits a Batista Bomb to the latter to secure the actual win.
------------------
We then get a video package about SmackDown! going to Iraq to perform there soon as well as WWE's recent involvement with the US military.
After that, we get a promo detailing the next match.
Goldberg vs. Shawn Michaels
Winner: Goldberg at 3:27
Result: HBK and Goldberg take a little bit to scout the other. Eventually, Goldberg charges, but HBK gets out of the ring. Goldberg follows him, allowing HBK to run around the ring. Shawn gets back in first. When Goldberg is back in and standing, Shawn hits him with Sweet Chin Music. It nets a one count, but Shawn isn't done. Goldberg gets back up and takes another Sweet Chin Music. This time it gets a two count. Shawn goes for a third, but Goldberg catches this one. He throws the leg down before hitting a clothesline that sends Shawn inside out. Goldberg is pissed. He gets up and hits a Spear to Shawn. Goldberg isn't done. He picks Shawn up and whips him into the ropes. On the rebound, Goldberg hits another Spear after hitting the ropes himself, causing them to meet in the middle and double the impact. Goldberg then hits a Jackhammer to Shawn and that's it.
Afterwards, Goldberg looks to the hard camera and does a checkmark before leaving.
------------------
After a brief commercial for a new DVD called The Stone Cold Truth, we get a video package detailing how we got to the next match. It features "Going Under" by Evanescence.
WWE Title in a No Holds Barred
Triple H (C) vs. Kevin Nash
Winner: Triple H at 15:28
Result: The two start brawling before the bell starts. Nash takes the victory in the initial battle and beats down on Triple H. Eventually, Nash clotheslines HHH over the top. Nash is raring to go and whips HHH into the steps. He grabs a chair from under the ring and whacks HHH in the face with it, busting him open a bit. Nash then whacks HHH in the back a couple times. He clears the mats off the floor and goes for a Jackknife, but HHH back body drops out of it, sending Nash into the exposed concrete. HHH grabs the chair and whacks Nash in the face with it. HHH then wraps it around Nash's neck. He goes to throw Nash into the turnbuckle post, but he puts his foot up. Kevin fights out of it and throws HHH into the turnbuckle post and then over the barricade. The two fight around the arena for a bit, sending each other into walls, steps, the floor, Kevin even puts HHH into a trash can. Orton dives in, appearing from outta nowhere and tries to stop Kevin, but his fate is a Chokeslam onto some fans' chairs. They fight back towards the ring. HHH gouges Nash's eyes and flees back over the barricade. Kevin recovers and follows, not seeing HHH grab a kendo stick. He goes to whack Kevin with it, but he catches it. HHH lets go and back ups. Kevin breaks the kendo stick on his knees before making chase. They run around the ringside area for a bit before getting to the Spanish announce table. Nash sends HHH face first into that before hitting a big boot that sends him over into Hugo and Carlos. Nash beats on HHH in Hugo's chair, even choking him with his headset. Nash gets on the announce table and raises his fist up. He hops off and clears the table, going for a Jackknife. Flair appears from outta nowhere and hops onto his back, distracting Kevin. Kevin gets Flair off, hitting a Big Boot that sends him down. When Kevin turns around, HHH rings the bell in his face, distracting him and allowing HHH to whack him with the bell itself, sending him onto the announce table. Kevin is now busted open. HHH gets on the barricade and hits an elbow drop to send Kevin through the announce table. HHH gets Nash back in the ring and covers him for a two. Flair sets up a table on the outside as HHH beats on Nash. Flair gets HHH a toolbox. He takes out a screwdriver and gouges it into Nash's wound for a two. HHH then goes for a Pedigree, but Nash back body drops him out of the ring. Nash follows after him, eventually hitting a sidewalk slam onto the apron. Nash gets on the apron, going for HHH once more, but Flair distracts him by grabbing his leg. Nash kicks him away. He gets set to go in, but HHH hits something of a Spear through the ropes that sends both men out of the ring through the table. HHH recovers first, getting Nash into the ring. He then busts out his sledgehammer. He goes for Nash, who Big Boots him mid-way. Kevin beats on HHH for a little bit with punches, elbows, and slams before hitting a picture perfect Jackknife Powerbomb. Flair breaks the count. Nash is pissed so he nails Flair with a Jackknife Powerbomb as well. This is enough distraction for HHH to low blow Nash from behind and nail him with the sledgehammer for a two count. HHH goes for a Pedigree, but Nash back body drops out of it again. He then looks down and grabs the sledgehammer. HHH tries to beg him off, but Nash nails Orton in the gut with it when he gets on the apron. He does the same to Flair when he also hops back up. Batista rolls into the ring and distracts Nash long enough to back off his target. Batista goes for a clothesline, but Nash ducks. He hits Batista in the gut with the hammer before throwing it down. Nash calls for it and goes for a Jackknife Powerbomb. Before he can lift Batista up, HHH nails Nash in the back of the head with the Sledgehammer. Nash is suitably hurt, allowing HHH to hit him with a Pedigree for the win.
Afterwards, Evolution gather their wits and congregate at the stage, raising each other's hands high with their belts in tow. (obviously with the WWE Title instead and also HHH is bleeding)

Christmas from BaghdadLive from Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq
SD Television Special
We start the show off with Lillian Garcia giving a performance of the National Anthem.
After that, Mr. McMahon comes out and welcomes everyone to the first national performance of the first of its kind and starts things off by thanking all of the troops present. After a bit more of rah-rah Americana bulls**t, Santa Claus comes out, accompanied by appropriate jolly music. Vince asks if he's here to give out some gift. When Santa nods, he allows Santa to do so. Turns out it's just a bunch of shirts and other WWE gear. Santa comes back into the ring. Vince asks him if he's happy that he didn't save anything for him. Santa looks a bit lost, but otherwise seems to nod. Vince tells Santa that there's no free rides in the WWE. If he really wants to be here than he's going to participate. Tonight, he will be the special guest referee in the main event. Vince then questions Santa on why he always got coal as a child. Vince then tells Santa to go to the back and prepare to lay down the law before slapping him. Vince starts to gloat, allowing Santa time to disrobe, revealing himself to actually be Stone Cold Steve Austin! Steve gets up and waits for Vince to turn around. When he does, Steve flips him off and hits him with a Stunner. He starts a beer bash before thanking the soldiers himself.
------------------
Before the next match, we get a quick video package about someone in charge telling the WWE personnel what to do if there's an attack. From there it goes into a video package about some of the WWE's time here, including from the set-up of the ring to the arena. John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Hardcore Holly
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield at 4:38 by DQResult: Layfield and Holly brawl it out for a good bit of time. Eventually, Layfield gets him down with a Big Boot. JBL takes it to Holly with holds. Holly eventually reverses a Powerbomb into a back body drop out of the ring. Holly dives after JBL, beating on him a bit. He then grabs a chair and whacks JBL in the face with it.
Afterwards, Holly starts to take it to JBL before being blindsided by Big Show. Show and JBL reluctantly agree to beat on Holly, including a Clothesline from Hell. Faarooq rushes out to save Holly from the 2-on-1. ------------------
Before the next match, we go backstage where Austin is talking with Benoit, asking him if he's ready. After a bit of a pep talk, Austin tells Chris to do it for the soldiers out there and those that couldn't make it home. The two shake hands before we head elsewhere to see Rikishi's ass in the camera. Angle and Rey walk in and ask him if he's ready for tonight. Rikishi tells Kurt and Rey to leave Steiner to him. Rey wants to take care of Matt which means Kurt will pick up the scraps with Test. Some more "do it for the troops" which pops Rikishi a bit.
We get a video package about a soldier talking about his child waiting at home for him and what it feels like to be a parent away from home.
After a commercial, a bunch of soldiers give greetings to their family at home.
We get a quick shot of Torrie Wilson in a little Santa's outfit. They talk about the huge 8-diva tag happening later.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: Eddie Guerrero at 11:38Result: This is the same match that happened in real life. It ends when Eddie reverses a Powerbomb into a sunset flip and then puts his feet on the ropes to steal it.
Afterwards, Eddie puts on a flak jacket before Chris confronts him. The two get into a bit of an argument before shaking hands and hugging. ------------------
Before the next match, we get a few more footage of WWE's time around the base with all the soldiers. A soldier gives Vince an honorary medal for those who lost their life on the base.
After a commercial, we come back to how some WWE superstars flew on a manner helicopter to another base.
Kurt Angle, Rikishi, and Rey Mysterio vs. Scott Steiner, Test, and Matt Hardy with Shannon Moore
Winners: Kurt Angle, Rikishi, and Rey Mysterio at 8:31Result: Rey, Riksihi, and Angle all get a chance to beat on Matt. Matt eventually reverses a 619 attempt by rolling out of the ring. Scott and Test confront Matt and Shannon for a bit. This allows Rey to hit a splash over the top onto Matt and Shannon. Angle follows it up with a senton off the top onto Test. Rikishi is tempted to go for a splash, but Scott cuts him with a clothesline. Matt tags in Scott and he starts to beat on Rey. The heels isolate Rey for a good bit of time. Rey eventually reverses a Side Effect into a sunset flip. When Matt kicks out, Rey hits his bulldog. Rey gets the hot tag to Kurt while Matt tags in Test. Angle takes it to test for a bit. Test gets out of an Angle Slam before tagging in Matt. He then high tails it out of there, walking away. Scott follows him, trying to get him to go back while making no effort to do the same. Matt is left alone. As he yells at his partners, he backs into a Triple German Suplex. Rey hits a 619 to him which leads into an Angle Slam. Kurt tags in Rikishi who hits a Banzai Drop to Matt to pick up the win.
Afterwards, they bring in a few soldiers and all five of them do a quick dance session. ------------------
Before the next match, Eddie Guerrero meets Austin backstage. The two of them talk for a bit with Austin asking Eddie if he brought a lowrider. Eddie tells him he couldn't get it past customs. Austin tells Eddie that even if he lied, cheated, and stole tonight, at least he did it for the soldiers. The two shake hands before Austin heads off. We get a couple more holiday greetings from some soldiers. We get some more footage of WWE having some fun whilst in Iraq. All of the Divas are dressed in special Holiday attire. Victoria, Lita, Trish Stratus, and Torrie Wilson vs. Molly Holly, Jazz, Dawn Marie, and IvoryWinners: Victoria, Lita, Trish Stratus, and Torrie Wilson at 5:11Result: The faces are up top against Ivory. The faces and heels have a brawl that ends with Victoria hitting a Widow's Peak to Jazz for the win.------------------
Before the next match, we get some more holiday greetings from the soldiers. We then get some thanks and well wishes from the WWE superstars and their personal reflections of their time here. After another commercial and some more holiday greetings from some soldiers, we get some footage of WWE superstars firing some weapons on a range. After another commercial, we get some footage of WWE wrapping up everything with some thanks from the various soldiers. They say that they look forward to seeing them in 2004. One more round of holiday greetings before the main event. WWE United States Title Where Steve Austin is Special Referee
Big Show (C) vs. John Cena Winner: Big Show at 7:56 by DQ
Result: Show and Cena go back and forth for a bit until Show gets a Big Boot to John. Show takes over and tears down Cena. Eventually, Show goes for a Chokeslam, but Cena reverses it into a DDT. Cena starts to get pumped up, eventually going for an FU to Show. That's when Holly rushes out and gets Show down, blasting him in the face with a chair a couple times.
Afterwards, Show tries to go for the Chokeslam, but Holly kicks him down low. Holly whacks Show once more with a chair, leading into an FU by Cena. Holly and Cena have a confrontation, but eventually they shake hands. Cena turns that into an FU to Holly. Cena and Austin have a beer bash, eventually ending with Austin hitting a Stunner to Cena. Austin celebrates for a bit before hitting another Stunner to Holly. Austin continues the beer bash until Show gets up. Show is furious and tries to Chokeslam Austin. Austin claps some beer cans in his face, leading into one more Stunner. The night ends with Austin in the crowd having some beers and sharing the love.

Royal Rumble 2004Live from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Co-Branded PPV
Theme: "Nothing Left to Lose" by Puddle of Mudd
Sunday Night Heat WWE Women's Title in a Triple Threat Match
Victoria (C) vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus - Out of the "goodness" of his heart, SmackDown GM Paul Heyman chose to reward the winning team from Christmas at Baghdad. Victoria was to face off against Lita, Trish, and Torrie in a Fatal 4-way. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the negative when the heel team comprised of Jazz, Ivory, Molly, and Dawn all started to attack them. Torrie suffered a blow that took her out of the match, but Victoria, Lita, and Trish were still on and ready for the match despite any lingering injuries they might have taken from the attacks. Which of these three women are going to be able to leave Philadelphia with the title? And will we be seeing any of the other villainous vixens make themselves known?
Main Card
WWE United States Title and Royal Rumble Qualifier in a Hardcore Match
Big Show (C) vs. Hardcore Holly
- Ever since Hardcore Holly returned, he has made his targets known: Brock Lesnar and Big Show. Lesnar for breaking his neck over a year ago and Show for being Lesnar's accomplice. Show and Holly has, of note, been duking it out back and forth, often ending in blood and violence. Heyman had enough and decided that they would face off in a Hardcore Match at the Rumble where the winner would be able to enter the Rumble. That wasn't all. Due to Holly getting a pinfall victory in a tag match, Mr. McMahon added that Holly had earned a shot at the US Title, deciding to make the match for the title as well. Can these two finally settle their differences in a match designed in Holly's favor? Or will Big Show retain his title and gain a GIANT advantage in the Rumble, all in one foul swoop?
WWE World Tag Team Titles in a Tables Match
Evolution (Batista and Ric Flair) (C) vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-von Dudley)
- At Armageddon, Raw GM Eric Bischoff decided to screw the Dudleys out of their World Tag Titles by inserting Evolution into the Tag Team Turmoil last minute. Ever since, the Dudleys have made it a mission to humiliate Eric to mixed results. Upon putting Eric's stooge, Jonathan Coachman, through a table with a 3D, Eric has answered their call with unfair fight after unfair fight. Despite earning this rematch due to the rematch clause they're owed, Eric has made their journey here unfair. Every week the Dudleys have had to put their title opportunity on a line against various tag teams on the Raw roster. Every week, Bubba and D-von have survived the odds, only to wind up being dismantled by Evolution afterwards. Eric eventually conceded to them, and after being put through a table, announced that their match at the Rumble was now a Tables Match. Can a weakened but still fighting Dudley Boyz regain their titles in their specialty match? Or will Evolution utilize the Dudleys' injuries and keep the belts in their camp?
WWE Cruiserweight Title in a Fatal 4-Way Match
X-Pac (C) vs. Tajiri with Akio and Sakoda vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble with Nidia
- This match has insane implications going into it. Rey Mysterio had initially earned this shot by beating Jamie Noble to earn it. After that match, Tajiri looked to spray some black mist into Rey's eyes, but he ducked, causing it to errantly spray in a distracting Nidia's eyes. This, unfortunately, caused Nidia to go blind. Noble was furious and started attacking Tajiri and Rey in revenge. In the first match that took place on first SmackDown! of 2004, Noble interfered to make it a No Contest. Noble, Tajiri, and X-Pac soon fell victim to Tajiri and his henchmen beating them down. After a 6-Man Tag the following week ended in Noble refusing to stop attacking Tajiri and Rey, Heyman decided to make this a Fatal 4-way Match to settle the score. Can X-Pac keep the gold in this hostile environment? Will Tajiri and his henchmen come out with the gold once again? Can Rey unseat X-Pac despite facing aggression from two different sides? Or will Noble get his revenge for his girlfriend and come out on top?
John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Faarooq
- After three different losses to the Basham Brothers, all for the Tag Titles, the former Bradshaw beat down Faarooq in a fit of anger. Bradshaw didn't transition to his new character immediately. He first confronted Faarooq on his actions, and the two agreed that Bradshaw's anger got the best of him. The two were given one last shot against the Bashams for the titles, but if they lost, the APA would have to shut down. During the match, Bradshaw abandoned his long time friend, leaving the Bashams to beat down Faarooq and retain their titles. After the match, Bradshaw used a chair and destroyed Faarooq. The next week, Bradshaw revealed his true self, changing his name to John "Bradshaw" Layfield and telling the world that he was always too busy having fun and drinking beers. Well he took all the money he got from the APA and invested and now he's a wall street genius. Faarooq returned at the Christmas at Baghdad special, and ever since, has wanted to get his hands on his former partner. JBL has refused to face him, and it wasn't until Faarooq confronted Mr. McMahon directly about it. It was out of Heyman's hands, and despite his better judgment, booked this match for the Rumble. Will Faarooq gain a measure of revenge on his former best friend? Or will JBL and this new side of him topple Faarooq to claim victory?
World Heavyweight Title
Brock Lesnar (C) vs. Diamond Dallas Page with Hardcore Holly
- Despite Holly being busy earlier this night, he has promised Page that he'll be there to make sure there's no shenanigans in this match. DDP actually earned this opportunity by defeating Big Show and Scott Steiner in the same night. Lesnar has tried multiple times to attack Page, but Holly has been there as something of a guardian angel, if a guardian angel was looking for revenge at almost every turn. Mr. McMahon himself put an edict on the match, saying that Holly CAN be at ringside, and that if Heyman does anything to stop it, than there will be consequences. Things took on the go-home show. After Holly and DDP beat Steiner and Test in a tag match, Holly was lured away by Big Show. This led to Lesnar finally hitting an F5 to Page. When Holly tried to intercede, he was beaten down by the four bad guys. Will we see a similar sight at the Rumble? Or can Page regain the Big Gold belt he hasn't held in nearly four years?
WWE Title in a Last Man Standing Match
Triple H (C) vs. Shawn Michaels
- HHH and HBK were, at one time, closer than a lot of brothers. Things changed when HHH turned his back on his "brother" and best friend a year and a half ago. Ever since, the two of them have never been too far apart, always more interested in destroying the other. In a version of a "fight forever" feud, the two of them came to ahead one more time on the December 29th episode of Raw. In his last match made before walking out, Foley gave Shawn a title match in his hometown. It ended in controversy when Eric Bischoff counted a pinfall, but ruled that both Shawn and HHH's shoulders were down. One punch to the GM later, and Eric had fired Shawn...before being rehired moments later by the returning Steve Austin. Steve, now the Sheriff of Raw, has been given power by the board of directors to clean up any of Eric's messes and make sure the "law" is being followed. He is beholden to Eric's wishes, but that doesn't mean Steve can't intimidate his way around the show, especially since only the board of directors can fire him. Steve argued that due to the draw, Shawn Michaels was owed a rematch. Eric reluctantly agreed, and the two agreed to a Last Man Standing Match. HHH and HBK have not stopped attacking the other in recent weeks, to the point where Bischoff has ordered them to stop lest they forfeit their match and strip HHH of the title. After a head-to-head in the ring, and a beat down by Evolution (barring HHH) to Shawn, things are finally ready to boil over. Can Shawn capitalize on this opportunity and unseat his former best friend to regain the WWE Title? Or will HHH keep Shawn down for a 10 count and become the Last Man Standing?
Royal Rumble Match
RAW 1. Randy Orton 2. Booker T 3. Rob Van Dam 4. Chuck Palumbo 5. Chris Jericho 6. Christian 7. Goldberg 8. Mark Henry 9. Rodney Mack 10. Matt Anoa'i 11. Billy Gunn 12. Hulk Hogan 13. Jeff Hardy 14. A-Train 15. Kevin Nash
SmackDown! 1. Chris Benoit 2. Big Show or Hardcore Holly 3. Kurt Angle 4. Kane 5. Test 6. Eddie Guerrero 7. Scott Steiner 8. Rhyno 9. Rikishi 10. Matt Hardy 11. The Hurricane 12. Chavo Guerrero 13. John Cena 14. Shelton Benjamin 15. Charlie Haas
- It's the Royal Rumble! And there's plenty of things afoot! After earning his way in by winning a Handicap Match with Cena, Benoit was granted the #1 spot by Paul Heyman. Goldberg earned the #30 spot by eliminating 10 other men also in the Rumble in a Battle Royal. Chris Jericho and Christian have decided to align themselves in the interest of each other, despite Y2J's recent hang-ups with the latter. Thuggin 'n' Buggin Enterprises, Test and Steiner, and The World's Greatest Tag Team are a few other alliances that are strong going into this match. Gunn and Palumbo is also a rivalry that is still heavy in the forefront. After turning on his uncle in a fit of jealousy, Chavo and Eddie are now looking for blood against the other. Meanwhile, guys like John Cena, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, and Jeff Hardy are all looking to step out and break through to either regain or earn a shot for the first time at the World Title. There's also juggernauts like Kane, Kevin Nash, and Hulk Hogan that are trying to earn their way back to the main event. And with the looming threat of Mick Foley potentially in the wings after being given a front row seat, Randy Orton has his head on a swivel. It's the Royal Rumble! And the action isn't stopping for ANY moment!
