Hello, this is Jeronimoe. A professional writer from South Korea.
I will upload a new series about bringing alternative booking to some bad, notorious storylines.
As a specialist of creativity, I will do my best. I hope you enjoy my alternative booking.
So, purpose of this storyline was making Steve Williams as a formidable opponent for Stonecold.
Stonecold was the hottest thing in the business at the time and he was over regardless who he was facing,
but his opponents were pretty much repetitive, so he needed some fresh opponents to feud with.
Jim Ross once said he was wrong about choosing 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams, but I think differently.
Williams was a very good worker who can deliver fantastic matches with another good workers,
and his explosive style was well-matched with a tremendous brawler, Steve Austin.
Real problem was that they tried to put him over with shoot fighting tournament.
You can't predict anything in shoot fighting, and even more hard to predict in tournament.
Even though Steve Williams was a legitimate tough guy,
anything tragic could have happened in fighting and it really did happen.
So how would have I made this storyline awesome? Now you will see.
On RAW, good old JR comes out and announce that WWF will present a new championship.
The championship is called SOB championsip, which means 'The toughest son of bXXch in the planet'
This title will only be defended with 'No hold barred match', no DQ, no count out, only finishes when one participant not able to continue.
The first champion will be determined with a tournament named 'Brawl For All'.
Participants for this tournament will be announced later.
Participants are announced during the RAW, they are basically bunch of midcarders.
The last two participants announced are Dan Severn, and Steve Williams.
The commentary team should put Severn and Williams over as they are some legitimate killing machines.
Something like, 'There is no single guy who can beat Severn in no hold barred match in WWF!"
"He is a UFC champion!" and for Williams, they should even do better.
Something like, "He is a living legend that dominated Japanese pro wrestling for years,
he is a master of shoot wrestling and he has never lost in no hold barred matches!"
And then, the tournament begins.
The main difference of real 'Brawl for all' and my version of it, is very clear.
Mine is pre-determined as typical pro wrestling matches. It is just pretending as shoot.
Also, participants do not wear boxing gloves because it makes participants impossible to grapple and deliver submission.
They rather wears UFC style open finger glove, or fight with bare hands.
The matches should be presented as real fighting, minimum suplexes should be involved,
matches should be about punches and kicks, grappling and submissions.
Matches can be dreadful since there were not many submission specialists in WWF at the time,
but that is the key point of this alternative booking. No one should shine except for Severn and Williams.
So participants have pre-determined shoot wrestling matches like UWF-i did in Japan.
All of matches should be finished as KO or submission.
The participants should be shown as not too good in the matches, and it is ok for matches to be boring.
But two participants should be presented as different. Dan Severn and Steve Williams.
Their matches should be seen as explosive and dominant. Especially, Williams should knock his opponent down with
few kicks and punches, deliver brutal suplex and submit his opponent instantly. Matches should be less than 30 seconds.
In the other hand, Severn should be seen as strong and skilled too, but not as dominant as Williams.
He should deliver good shoot wrestling matches with suplex and submission, and win decisively in the end.
The tournament should be built around two wrestlers, and the commentary team should put these two over as 'The biggest dream match of shoot fighting history'.
And then, after both of them defeating 3 opponents in three different RAW shows, finally two meet each other in the tournament final.
The announcers should put this match up over as 'The dream match that determines the true baddest man in the planet'.
When they faced each other, two of them should have intense stare down as if they would kill each other right away.
And then the match starts. Severn beat Williams with kicks and punches, deliver vicious throw at him.
Severn raise his hands and roars as if he won the fight, but Williams got up like it didn't affect him at all.
Severn looks frightened, and Williams smiles, knock Severn down with 2 punches, and deliver a suplex, submit him right away to win the tournament.
Vince Mcmahon comes out to the ring with the new title belt, and give the belt to Williams.
Williams stares at the belt, and throw it away to outside of the ring. Mcmahon seems shocked, and Williams grabs the mic.
"I don't care about this title! All I care about is one thing. Stonecold Steve Austin!!!"
Williams continues, "Do you think you are the toughest SOB in the planet? No, you are not.
I am the true alpha male of this planet and I came to WWF to kick your ass!"
Williams throws the mic away and leave the ring.
Vince seemed surprised at first, but soon he starts to smirk and look back at his stooges,
and says "Guess what. I came up with a good idea."
And then the next time Vince gets attacked by Steve Austin, Williams should come out and attacks Austin.
He dominates Austin and puts choke on Austin, make him fainted out.
Williams roars and Vince raises Williams' hand with smirk. This is the moment when Williams becomes new hired gun of Mcmahon,
and also the moment that Williams becomes new formidable opponent for Austin.

'How WWF should have booked Owen Hart after Montreal Screwjob.'
