AEW Dynamite Theme By No One Hero
Pyrotechnics, lasers, and the Star Wars themed set makes it abundently clear: This is a very special edition of Dynamite!
Pyrotechnics, lasers, and the Star Wars themed set makes it abundently clear: This is a very special edition of Dynamite!
Schiavone, Excalibur, and Taz welcome us to the show, run down the card and tell us what's to come tonight, as well as some questions hopefully answered by the end of the evening, when the fans are popped by the sound of "Hangman" Adam Page's theme tune!
Page signals the Vegas crowd to allow him to speak, and they oblige. He starts by thanking everyone for the support and says how proud he is of AEW, before making it clear he is coming back by the end of the month! He will not miss a title defence, he'll numb the pain with a couple beers and get craking! He ain't no wuss like PAC and his two buddies!
As for tonight, Hangman tells us he puts all faith on Kenny, and that the viewers have a surprise when he does come out, but sadly he has to leave early for his surgery, and won't be by Kenny's corner in the main event.
Page concludes this opening promo by again thanking the fans, taking out a can of beer, and calling out PAC, because "The Hangman is always watching".
The first match of the night is up, when "Murder Hawk" Lance Archer and his mentor Jake "The Snake" Roberts are set to defend the TNT belt against Luchasaurus in a Texas Death Match!
We get an absolute brawl fest, as two of the biggest men on the roster resemble a fight from Godzilla rather than a wrestling match!
It is only after 13 minutes of grueling back and forth action that the champion retains his belt!
But the defeat was only made worse after the bell, when Roberts' influence on Archer was seen in the face of a post match attack, revealing Jake was carrying in his bag not a snake, but a Hawk! They release the hawk in a sadistic show of dominance as he claws onto Luchasaurus' arm, nearly tearing his skin and flesh, and leaving him to be escorted out with a stretcher!
After this horrible experience, we are going backstage, where a camera man caught none other than "The American Nightmare" Cody speaking on the phone and saying he's "Very excited, AEW is gonna be a different place after this". But as soon as he notices the camera, he hangs up and leaves, making the announce team if this has anything to do with Tully? No matter now, since up next, we have the world champion, "Unscripted" Jon Moxley, facing not one, not two, not three, but FOUR of The Dark Order's best! We are also shown a pre taped promo from Mr. Brodie Lee, who is certain Mox will not forget this night.
This match is a 4 on 1 Handicap Gauntlet Match, meaning Mox has to pin every single one of his opponents to win, which sounds extremely unlikely, but "The Ambassador of Violence" is no ordinary man, and makes it look nearly easy!
In less than 5 minutes, it becomes a 1 on 1 match with only Evil Uno to beat, but it is then when Mox started to struggle, and was nearly pinned! Able to shake off the near fall and gain control, Mox wins with a roll up to get the 3 count!
He takes a mic, and proceeds to take shots at everyone from The Dark Order, and that Brodie has no one left to throw at Mox, and so he wants Lee in an Unsanctioned Match next week!
But before he could continue, a glamorous shadow appears on the entranceway, and is revealed to be... SOFIA?! What could The Ravishing Russian be doing at AEW?
She goes to speak, but before letting out a word, laughs, and points behind Mox... WHERE MAKAROV IS!!! MAKAROV IS ALL ELITE!!!
He assaults the champ! Locks in The Accolade! Mox passes out, then Mr. Brodie Lee comes out, tells Mox he has "One More Left" and orders Makarov to let go of him.
In a pre taped promo, Nyla Rose makes it clear: She is far from done with Shida! "I'll Break You, Bitch"
In the ring Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is waiting with a mic, mocking Kris Statlander before their match.
But the mocking seemed to have backfired, as The Alien was able to take out The Doc in just under 12 minutes, taking a big step forwards towards the Women's World Championship!
We come back from commercials, with Best Friends already hyping the crowd, and making their big announcement to The Inner Circle:
"You got Tenille? Well, we call your bet and raise it a bit further - With Kylie Rae!"
"Smiley" Kylie Rae, the fan favorite, has entered The Hug Circle!
This prompts Jericho and his pals to come out, mock their enemies, and make their own announcement: "Next week, The Inner Circle vs. The Hug Circle!"
WOW!
Up next is one of the most anticipated debuts in wrestling: The Revolt are up against the veteran tag team of Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian.
Tully stands in one corner, while Scorpio Sky is on the other, and the match is everything the fans expected - a fine showing of exceptional tag team wrestling.
After no less than 20 odd minutes, the debutants are able to pick up a clean victory, and make a statement on the way.
SCU, being the sportsmen they are, extend their arms to end the small dispute between the teams, and The Revolt oblige! Before kicking the two legends in their special areas!
Tully takes to the mic, and says there's no place for weakness in this business, that he's teaching his two prodiges the way of The Horsemen, and since The Horsemen understood the power in numbers, by the end of the night, it will come into action...
A match graphic appears as the announce team wonders who is gonna join Tully and The Revolt, showing that next week we will finally see the white hot "La Conquistadora" Killer Kelly, in TV action, when she faces the inaugural Women's Champion, Riho!
What left is the main event of the evening! Penta El Zero Miedo, Matt Jackson and "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega take on in a three way dance!
All three men come out in outfits fitting the night, first is Matt Jackson, who is joined by his brother Nick, paying homage to R2D2 and C3PO.
After that, Penta El Zero Miedo, and the lights are out before seeing nothing but a glowing red light saber, which in turn, becomes 2 rods of red sabers! The lights go back, to reveal what is already assumed - as the white face paint Penta is used to is replaced by bloody red, the resemblance is obvious to all - Darth Maul is in the house!
And for the grand finale, we are treated with a spectacular Kenny Omega entrance, fitting the theme of the night, he comes out to an altered version of his theme, dressed as The Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker, and looking incredibly jacked, eliciting a great response from the crowd! Excalibur, the nerd that he is, talks about the implications of choosing Anakin as his cosplay, but Taz quickly shuts him up.
And while that was definitely one of the best moments of the show, perhaps of All Elite Wrestling as a whole, we came to see these three maestros of wrestling fight!
And fight they did, for over 40 minutes! False finishes a plenty, this was a true modern wrestling bout, with the exception that none of the three has used their finishing move: Penta and his Fear Factor, Matt and his Moonsault, and Kenny Omega with his One Winged Angel.
But that all changed in the last minute of the match, as Matt Jackson was able to hit the Moonsault on Penta, Penta with his Fear Factor on Matt, before it was all over when The Cleaner hit The Match Stopper, One Winged Angel on Matt for the win!
The crowd was ecstatic as their main man, one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega, made sure he and Page keep their titles at least till Double or Nothing!
But the show wasn't over, oh no it wasn't, becuase, as The Elite, including loser Matt Jackson, were all congratulating Omega with his spectacular feat, The Revolt came out!
Hanging on the apron, they realized they were at a disadvantage, 2-3 going in favor of The Elite, when...
JOHN CENA! JOHN CENA! JOHN CENA!
Taking the world by surprise, "The Champ" is none other than the biggest name in professional wrestling, the biggest star since Hulk Hogan, attacks Kenny Omega, as The Revolt take care of The Young Bucks, to a massive chorus of boos!
They dispose The Elite from the ring, and procceed to cut one of the greatest heel promos the world has seen, with each minute passing, more and more garbage is thrown inside the ring, reminiscent of the events at Bash at the Beach 96.
Ending the show, with 5 simple words, 5 words that will forever remain in the minds of wrestling fans around the world, is John Cena, the personifaction of the babyface role, turning on the entire industry, simply saying:
"It's Not Personal, It's Neccessary"
