Read The Footnotes!!!!!!Brief History
The ECW was founded in the early 1990's by Todd Gordon and soon became the house of Hardcore wrestling. By the year of 1996 the company was starting to reach out of the regional level and attracting attention not only in the US but in the Whole wrestling world. That was when the foreign investor and fan of ECW's style of wrestling Rafael R. Rodriguez known as Revolution Rock and R3 bought the company from Paul Heyman and rebranded the company. Starting from november 1996 he constructed better structures and so on. Lowering the risk involved in the production "R3" got a contract with the television company TNN for the late evening of Mondays, the show runned from Jan. 1997 to Jan. 1998 and was known as "ECW On TNN". The show was the first choice for hardcore fans in the Monday Night Wars. The relations with TNN started deteriorated when ECW Hardcore TV moved to Prime Time Thursday at USA Network, TNN felt that ECW was betraying them for having relations with a bussiness competitor and did not renewed ECW for another year. At the moment ECW Hardcore TV it's peaking 4.50 on USA network, and the company is looking for another Late Evening show for mondays. With the Change of content came benefit long term. In late 1996 ECW was a regional brand, by feb. 1998 its a global brand, with some of the best talent worldwide.
Late 1996 - The booking during this time was divided in three: 1) the old school hardcore names such as Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Rob Van Dam and Terry Funk as main eventers and fighing purely hardcore, texas death and cage matches. 2) The Newcomers such as Shane Douglas, Rick Rude and Chris Jericho people that were already in the company and benefited more than anyone by the change of content, being purely Charismatic brawlers the less agressive content was pushed then to main stream. 3) The Japanese Invasion: it all started when "R3" noticed the lack of Technical talent in the company. So he went to Japan and first brought with him Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kensuke Sasaki to form the heel tag team Japanese Invasion that dominated the tag team scenario for 4 straight months. The immediate sucess of the Duo, made R3 look for other japanese wrestlers, such Hayabusa, Jushin Liger, Ultimo Dragon, The Great Sasuke, Keiji Muto, Jun Akiyama and Taka Michinoku. The puroresu formed the heel stable Japanase Empire and the tag teams The Unholy Alliance (Jun Akiyama/Taka Michinoku) and Shogunate (Hayabusa and Jushin Liger). The insurgence of japonese wrestlers made the content appeling for the eastern culture of puroresu a big theme in the company and saw the insurgence of the ECW Intercontinental Championship with Mitusuharu Misawa being the first champion.
1997 - Aiming to transform the production to a global scale, and by the sucess of the Japanese experiment, the company aimed in developing the talent in the card, the feud Jericho v. Hayabusa gave ECW the first 5 stars match ever in a Submission Match for the Juniors. The feud lasted six months, starting after Hayabusa became the first holder of the ECW Juniors title. and ended after Chris Jericho defeated Hayabusa and Shane Douglas to become the ECW Champion. Other Feud that marked the period was Shane Douglas v. Terry Funk a feud remarked with hardcore and Texas Death matches involving the ECW championship. The feud started when Shane lost the TV title to Kurt Angle and after Terry Funk beat Raven and Sabu on a hardcore match to become the world champion. The focus was in the athletic young energy of Shane against the experience of Terry Funk, and ended after Shane lost to Jericho at Anarchy Rulez 97 and in the Texas Death Match between Shane and Terry in Extreme Warfare. Where they shaked hands after a 6 months long feud, were Terry tried tiressly to make Shane shake his hand and reconize him as a part of the ~franchise~. At the moment they both compete in the singles main event, but have a tag team The Funky Franchise Connection.
By early January ECW lost Rick Rude To WCW, but also got Antonio Inoki that worked as color commentator for Joey Styles and hosted the interview segment Inoki Show. Acting as a face until a match between Keiji Muto vs Taz for the Intercontinental title, where he invaded the ring giving the victory for Muto, and the later that night at ECW on TNN he officialy joined the Japanese Invasion. The reign of terror of the Japanese Invasion seen never ending. during this year Keiji Muto hold the Intercontinental and the Television title at the same time, while Jushin Liger was Junior champion and the Unholy Alliance were the tag team champions. Only Chris Jericho was being able, besides the match interferences, to hold his title. But things were soon to change, when in the lightweight division saw the raise of the LAX and the Mexican Cartel centered on the young lightweights Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Juventud Guerra the mexican youngsters took the minor titles for challange. Beside interference Juventud beat Jushin to become the first mexican Juniors champion, while Chavo with the help of Hector Guerrero beat Ultimo Dragon for the intercontinental. Seeing all this the americans were helpless, but when in October, Rick Rude, fired by WCW, came back as the leader of the stable US Marines reuniting the always feuding americans under a stable to resist against ~the invading forces~. Rick Rude became ~American Antonio Inoki~ being the color commentator at Hardcore TV, while Antonio was in ECW On TNN, where Rick Rude hosted the Ravishing Interviews.
Noticing the need of technical american wrestlers, R3 with the help of Dory Funk Jr. started the developing territory of Anarchy Reigns in late november 1996. The first graduates were mainly american, but with some mexicans and japonese wrestlers, thanks to people such Keiji Muto and Hector Guerrero. The first one to break into the main stream was Steve Corino a lightweight technical and charismatic wrestler that soon became the protegee of Ted Dibiase who became his manager, in much helping to develop the arrogant personality of the talanted youngster, that in one year soon rose to main event a PPV against Hayabusa and Chris Jericho in a feud with the later. Other american Heel rising in the company also came from Anarchy Reigns, Jamie Noble is putting several good matches against more experienced majors, and by Jan. 98 he beated other gratuate Lance Storm for the Television Title. Some of the raising single competitors from Anarchy Reigns are also Christopher Daniels, Taka Michonoku, Juventud Guerrera, Lizmark Jr., Yoshiro Tajiri, Dwayne Kavana (former Flex Kavana), Jinsei Shinzaki, Chris Chetti and Little Guido. Being a fan of Tag team action and by the lack of talent in the area, R3 also helped to develop in Anarchy Reigns some tag teams such as The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff), The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh), LAX (Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Lizmark Jr.) and Daniels & Storm (Christopher Daniels and Lance Storm). Some of the talent still at the Anarchy reigns camp and with a bright future are: AJ Styles, Aldo Montoya, Bill Goldberg, Christian Cage, David Jericho, Mack Daddy Kane, Rhino Richards and Shane Helms.

*As i think Music is a Big part of Wrestling and ECW in real life released one album with wrestlers themes, here some music i think would match with some wrestlers and a ~cover~ for both the diary and this "album" ECW Hardcore Music vol.1 (1998) 01 - ECW Theme (Harry Slash And The Slashtones) 02 - Sabu Theme (Harry Slash And The Slashtones - Huka Blues) 03 - Raven Theme (Local H - Fritz Corner) 04 - Brian Pillman Theme (Heckle - Astro Zombies (Misfits cover))
05 - Keiji Muto Theme ( The Stalin - ロマンチスト) 06 - Chavo Guerrero Jr. / LAX Theme ( Control Machete - Comprendes Mendes?) 07 - Unholy Alliance / Shogunate Theme ( The Stalin - 解剖室) 08 - Juventud Guerrera / Los Muertos Theme ( A.N.I.M.A.L. - Solo Por Ser Indios) 09 - Rob Van Dam Theme ( Kilgore - Walk (Pantera Cover) ) 10 - Terry Funk Theme ( The Count Five - Psychotic Reaction ) 11 - Chris Jericho Theme ( Machine Head - Davidian ) 12 - Hardy Boyz Theme ( Local H - High-Fiving MF ) 13 - Shane Douglas Theme ( GZA - Liquid Swords) *debuted against Keiji Muto in a ECW World title match The New Extreme Championship Wrestling Problem In Early 1997, trying to capitalize in the ECW growing sucess, Jerry Jarrett founded the NECW, a even lower risk company (56%). And was formed the first feud between companies ECW faced. The NECW had some wrestlers shared with ECW, but some as Mike Awesome decided to work solely to NECW, breaking the Tag contender US Bombs in half, what angered R3 and the booking team of ECW. At the moment they are at the nacional level, struggling to get TV space. And holding one event per month. While ECW was rocking two TV shows and one ppv per month, having announced their first PPV outside USA: ECW Wrestlepalooza Live At Tokyo! USA v. Japan. That will happen February 14, 1998.
Footnotes: 1) Arsenic was used, but not to change any wrestler overrall qualities. I don't recall the exact wrestler, but was an American that was weekly in tv, twice a week, and ppv quality wrestler, that didn`t want to have a written contract because of his japanese works, something that in real life would not occur. Gimmick Gen is used. 2) Arsenic was also used to inject money, since im playing for the first time, since 2013 i didn't knew what to do, so i injected money to start. But for 4 or 5 months in a row ECW is making money, and arsenic was only used for this two items. 3) At the moment ECW is the ONLY worldwide company. Both WCW and WWF fell to National. 4) English isn't my first language, so, by now, sorry for any mispelling. 5) All The matches will be copy/paste. But the Angles will be written by me. 6) I'm reposting from other diary i'm keeping "next door". So i will post 3 shows in a row

ECW Hardcore TV! Live Hammerstein Ballroom on USA Network
Rick Rude Announcement
After the end of the intro the theme slowly fade away while Rick Rude is in the center of the ring, and start speaking: R: Well, my fellow americans, aren't you tired? How many times we will see Chris Jericho, Pillman, and god... Taz! Lose matches for those japanese rats! *Huge Crowd Cheer* I'm TIRED! I can't take this no more! First they take or card positions, think about how many young americans could be booked, i aren't for the Japs. And then, they started this invasion thing, what a stupid thing! we are a American Company and we need American champions! Everybody knows, they are only winning because they cheat! They only win because there's no SINGLES matches for them, there always one of them sneaking down the ring, running down the ramp or the crowd and Cheap Shot our guys! Im starting to consider give our boys Brass knuckles so they can defend themselves when they are fighting one jap and the suddenly there are four of them in the ring! And More, without help do you really think Keiji Muto would have defeated Taz! Taz is a mons... Before he finishes the Japanese Empire theme starts playing, and out the smoke came Antonio Inoki who starts debating with Rick Rude: A: You better watch your mouth, before the bringing of japanese wrestlers to this enterprise, if can remember you were fighting in that background arena you americans call the ECW Arena *Crowd Boo* Hey hey hey! Just think you silly americans, who gave you a Five Star match if not Hayabusa? Yes, and not only him, but a CANADIAN. This if you remember was the feud of the year! Tenzan and Sasaki for five months destroyed every tag team you put in front o them. Keiji Muto is an unstoppable killing machine, and we know, today is the day that we will know who will be contenders for the matches in Japan that will happen in 4 days from now. If you trust your ~boys~ so much, why won't we book my warriors against your boys.

Bloody hell, what's this? If it's ECW, you got me hooked, really. The paradigm is ridiculously different of the reality, but in all fairness, you're combining the great puroresu landscape of the 90s with my heart's promotion in ECW. Let's see what's going to happen. Buzzing!

Bloody hell, what's this? If it's ECW, you got me hooked, really. The paradigm is ridiculously different of the reality, but in all fairness, you're combining the great puroresu landscape of the 90s with my heart's promotion in ECW. Let's see what's going to happen. Buzzing! ECW is one of my favourite all time too! I think is amazing what they did with their limits, not a very rich company and etc. The Hardcore is still there but i changed the order of things (If were 1)Hardcore 2)Technique. Now Technique and well fought matches are the priority, and if they spill blood, better!) During this time they were doing "this" in way minor scale, was around this time Psycosis, Tajiri and Rey were puting some really good high flying matches. Also Masato Tanaka came after and was more technical, putting some really good matches with Mike Awesome. Every time i played ECW in EWR i always did this risk lowered company. Even becase most of saves i made are after the ECW on TNN started, so if a not lowered the risks i would lost the contract But as i said in the introduction, is if: A magnate looked at this ECW midcard at the time (Chris Jericho, Psycosis and others) and tought "hmmm, i believe this product can sell". And the japanese invasion started really as me looking for good technicians. I had a lot of Brawlers in the roster, but not a lot of tech and speedy wrestler. So came the mexicans and the japanese. I also let a lot of wrestlers that were here just walking, because with people like Kurt Angle (in this universe The Sandman was never crucified), Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock they had no space Than i started this "feud" between americans and japanese wrestlers when i realized that "damn, i gave almost all times to the japanese". That was when some people like Lance Storm, Christopher, Juventud, Chavo and Steve Corino came from the development to the main roster and filled the space some more hardcore wrestler left behind. I'm finish at this moment the last promo of the last show of the month, with some cool "ECW.com News" too

Monthly Recap: Japan, Raven and MTV
After a three week tour, our boys are finally returning home, or in case of the japanese in the squad, they are leaving. The japanese tour was nothing but a huge surprise for all of us. What a great crowd! We sold out the 3 events! almost 20 thousand people every night in both Osaka and Tokyo, two of the Japanese Puroresu Meccas! About that Sabu said "Japanese crowd is amazing, i was here before from 91 to 94. I knew some places, and took the kids for a ride earlier. I can imagine the hapiness in the face of the youngster first time here. The japanese are real fans of Wrestling". In his first trip to Japan Juventud Guerrera said "The second best crowd ever! After Mexico of Course, i guess nothing beats your homeland. And so i noticied, everytime Jushin hit a move they went nuts! Every time a grappled him they booed. Every high flying moviment was accompanied by claps and screaming. It was Awesome to be here! I hope we comeback next year". Well Mr. Guerrera, considering the sucess of the shows in the pacific, i can bet the we will hear news soon about a return... While we are talking about Japan and their taste for Hardcore, the wrestler Raven is ruled out for a month! Raven broke his nose, again, against Sabu in their later Texas Death Match, or how we call it in here the TOKYO DEATH MATCH! (Read in the Joey Styles voice).
And for last, bur not least! Guess who's returning for the 10 p.m. programee on mondays? That's right, Us! I know you were sick and tired of having to watch the boring and lame WW* and W*W wrestling (not mentioning their names for lawsuit purpouses) without having some really good wrestling after! But don't worry baby, We are back! But Forget about those chicks in T*N, ECW Is now on MTV! God, i hope one day we can wrestle in the VMA! Imagine how sick it would be! Local H playing Raven's theme while he headshots Terry Funk with a Barbed Wire Chair! Imagine the face of the blood bathed young teens in the crowd first row "b-b-but i only wanted to hear the backstreet boys". So don't forget, tune in at Late evening on mondays on MTV! Tune in and help us realize this dream of hardcore wrestling on a VMA (Trust me it would be awesome).
