5th April 1993 The show opens up with still images from Wrestlemania IX as Vince McMahon reviews the show with throat burning enthusiasm. We then start the show with the usual Monday Night Raw theme.
MATCH 1: Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Virgil This one is pretty straight forward for Bigelow, he’s still angry over losing to The Undertaker last night at Wrestlemania. Bigelow uses numerous suplexes and hard slams before finishing off Virgil with the diving headbutt in 3:52. Rating: C+
We see stills from the Steiner Brothers tag team title win at Wrestlemania before Vince McMahon hypes up the Steiner Brothers in action in the main event tonight against The Beverley Brothers in non title action.
MATCH 2: Bob Backlund vs. Rich Myers Bob Backlund still riding high from his victory over Jerry Lawler last night at Wrestlemania uses his technical prowess to get a straight forward win over Rich Myers via the cross face chicken wing in 03:58. Rating: D
Vince McMahon introduces ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage to the crowd. Vince asks him on commentary how he’s feeling after last night’s loss to Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. Macho says he lost to the better man on the night but Macho Man ain’t done yet and believes he still has one more run in him. Suddenly, Jerry Lawler’s music hits for his next match....Lawler is on the mic berating the New York crowd and tells them Backlund cheated against him at Wrestlemania. Lawler then notices Savage and berates him too calling him a loser and a has been and tells Savage to watch this upcoming match to see what a winner looks like! Savage looks irritated by Lawler but McMahon tells Savage to ignore him.
MATCH 3: Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler vs. Jim Brunzell Jerry Lawler fought a returning Jim Brunzell in which was a back and forth match. Both men getting in some offense, Brunzell looking good hitting Lawler with drop kicks and a couple of hip tosses. Lawler turned the tide after a thumb to the eye resulting in Lawler hitting his patented piledriver for the win in 06:18. Rating: C+
Lawler climbs out of the ring and talks trash to the ‘Macho Man’! McMahon tries to calm things down as Savage gets to his feet. Savage restrains himself on this occasion and Vince tells Lawler to leave the area.
McMahon hypes up next week’s Raw telling us that Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels will be in action and we will hear from the number one contender for the WWF Championship, Yokozuna with Mr Fuji of course!
MATCH 4: The Steiner Brothers vs. The Beverley Brothers (non title match) Time for the main event! A very nice back and forth tag match here with The Beverley’s trying to isolate Rick Steiner after Rick starts out in control with numerous suplexes and slams. Beverley’s did all they could but The Steiners over powered them and eventually picked up the win with the assisted Bulldog from the top turnbuckle by Rick Steiner in 15:23. Rating: B+
