During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent a lot of time watching MSW on the WWE Network and became a fan. Once I decided to get back into TEW, I knew I wanted to book Mid South Wrestling. This is also the first "diary" I have ever done for a save, so I hope you all enjoy it!

The roster is going to be expanded in the coming weeks. As for show results, I will be posting quick results mostly and brief write ups of angles. For big shows, I will do brief descriptions of the matches and angles.

and Terry Taylor in 4:38 when Matt Borne defeated Mike Bond (50 D+)
by pinfall with a Northern Exposure.

In terms of in-ring work, Ted DiBiase
was head and shoulders above everyone else.

Ted DiBiase shone in this match.

Matt Borne was wasted on drugs.

ANGLE: The Rat Pack want a challenge.

After making easy work of Mike Bond and Terry Taylor, Ted DiBiase and Matt Borne go to the announce desk of Bill Watts and Jim Ross. Ted grabs a microphone, looking like he barely broke a sweat, with Matt standing beside him with his arms folded. Ted tells the audience The Rat Pack are bored, and they want a challenge. They don't care who it is in the back, or anyone in the world! Ted tells the crowd to make matters "interesting," him and Matt Borne are issuing an open challenge for the Mid South Tag Team Championship!

Nikolai Volkoff defeated George
Weingeroff in 4:44 by pinfall with a Russian Sickle. (53 C-)

Skandor Akbar did good work at
ringside.

ANGLE: Nickolai Volkoff waves the USSR flag to
a shower of boos as he stands over Weingroff. (65 C)

Volkoff grabs a microphone and sings the Russian national anthem to the applause of General Skandor Akbar, but to a shower of boos from the Reynolds Center audience.

Junkyard Dog defeated Dick Murdoch in
8:26 when Dick Murdoch was disqualified when Kamala ran in and
attacked Junkyard Dog. (71 C+)

The match suffered due to a lack of
selling on display.

ANGLE: Steve Williams and Jim Duggan save JYD
from a beatdown. (74 B-)

Kamala storms the ring! Him and Junkyard Dog get into a fist fight, but the behemoth Kamala gets some back up from Captain Dick Murdoch! The two men pounce on Junkyard Dog. Kamala lifts JYD up and body slams him to the canvas! Kamala slaps his belly motioning that he's going for the running splash when all the sudden the crowd errupts in cheers. Coming into the shot is Steve Williams and Jim Duggan! The crowd absolutely erupt as the two former football stars lay the smackdown on Kamala and Dick Murdoch! Duggan throws Murdoch out of the ring and the two men clothesline Kamala over the top rope! The crowd goes wild! Williams and Duggan check on the Junkyard Dog as the heels make their way to the back.

Post show notes:

A storyline has now started between Kamala and Junkyard Dog.

Matt Borne has been fined for being under the influence, to no effect on his behavior.

Ted DiBiase has annoyed morale from working with an impaired Matt Borne.

Happened Last Week (81 B)

Junkyard Dog cuts a promo explaining how he was blindslided last week. He thanks the help of Jim Duggan and Steve Williams, and says that getting beaten comes with the territory of being champion. JYD explains he is a fighting champion and is willing to take on all challengers.

Kevin Von Erich defeated Marty Lunde

in 6:23 by submission with an Iron Claw. (69 C+)

Kevin Von Erich debuted his Old School
Face gimmick.

It got an initial rating of Very Good.

Ernie Ladd defeated Mike Bond in 4:41

ANGLE: Mr. Wrestling II Stands Up For

America (62 C)

Nikolai Volkoff is in the ring waving the Russian flag and about to sing the Russian national anthem before his contest with Mr. Wrestling II. Mr. Wrestling II is having none of it and gets in the face of Volkoff! He snatches the microphone from Volkoff and explains we are in the "good ol' US of A" and that none of us will stand for it.

Mr. Wrestling II drew with Nikolai

Volkoff in 5:04 following a double count out. (60 C)

Mr. Wrestling II was really off his
game.

Skandor Akbar did good work at
ringside.

ANGLE: The Rat Pack Await Their

Challengers (61 C)

Ted DiBiase and Matt Borne stand in the ring, waiting for their challengers from their open challenge announcement last week. Ted goes on abo0ut how no one is brave enough to go against them, until the crowd pops as Jim Duggan and Steve Williams walk to the ring!

DiBiase & Borne defeated Steve

Williams and Jim Duggan in 10:01 when Ted DiBiase defeated Steve
Williams by submission with a Million Dollar Dream after blatantly
cheating. DiBiase & Borne make defence number 1 of their
Mid-South Tag Team titles. (78 B)

Matt Borne was the weak link,

struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

Ted DiBiase seemed off his game.

After the bell rings, Kamala isn't finished with Weingeroff just yet! He stomps on Weingeroff several times, and gives him not one, but TWO running splashes! Kamala tries to set up a third one, until the crowd pops as Junkyard Dog runs out to the ring! Kamala and Friday leave the ring quickly as Junkyard dog stands there with his fists clenched. He checks on the injured George Weingeroff as we head to commercial break.

George Weingeroff looked dreadful in
this segment.

Junkyard Dog was a real star in this
segment.

Kerry Von Erich defeated Tim Horner in

5:04 by pinfall with a Discus Punch. (71 C+)

Kerry Von Erich debuted his Old School
Face gimmick.

It got an initial rating of Great.

There were times when a definite lack
of psychology was on display, and the match had a tendency to drift a
little.

The great performance of Kerry Von
Erich really stood out.

Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith

defeated Jim Neidhart and Marty Lunde in 6:16 when Davey Boy Smith
defeated Marty Lunde by pinfall with a Running Powerslam. Davey Boy
Smith was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's
in-ring performance. (45 D)

Dynamite Kid's British Bulldog gimmick

is rated Very Good.

Davey Boy Smith's British Bulldog
gimmick is rated Above Average.

ANGLE: Duggan and Williams Want a

Rematch (60 C)

In the interview booth, Jim Duggan and Steve Williams are standing with Bill Watts. Watts addresses what happened last week, and an irate Steve Williams demands for a rematch! He is so irate, he stumbles over his words a bit! Thankfully, Jim Duggan is there to back him up and he gets this interview back on track. He calls DiBiase and Borne "cowards" and vows that they will take should be the rightful Mid South Tag Team Champions! However, as Jim was laying the verbal smackdown on the Rat Pack, DiBiase and Borne walk into the shot and laugh in their faces. DiBiase says he won the match fair and square. Duggan points out the glove DiBiase wears, and how he stuffs it with a foreign object. DiBiase vehemently denies this and says he has a legitimate hand injury. Duggan then challenges the two to a tag team title match in Tupelo next Sunday night, which Matt Borne accepts, to the chagrin of Ted DiBiase.

Jim Duggan performed well.

Steve Williams was a mess unscripted.

Ted DiBiase improvised well.

In an extremely short match, Buddy

Landell and Butch Reed defeated Magnum T.A. and Terry Taylor in 4:45
when Butch Reed defeated Terry Taylor by pinfall with a Gorilla Press
Slam. In terms of in-ring work, Butch Reed was head and shoulders
above everyone else. (67 C+)

Buddy Landell seemed off his game.

Bobby Eaton defeated Mr. Wrestling II

in 5:20 by pinfall after a distraction from Nikolai Volkoff. (47 D)

Jim Cornette did some good work at
ringside.

Jim Cornette and Bobby Eaton are an
awkward pairing, they just have no chemistry whatsoever.

Junkyard Dog defeated Bill Dundee in

8:13 by pinfall with a Dog Headbutts. (73 B-)

The match suffered because not enough
selling was shown.

ANGLE: Junkyard Dog Vows Kamala Will

Pay (86 B+)

After the match, still winded from the battle that he went through with Bill Dundee, Junkyard Dog makes his way to the announce desk. He keeps this short and sweet: he vows that Kamala will pay for what he did to Weingeroff earlier tonight. Dog explains that this is the sport of professional wrestling, and it's uncalled for to attack your opponent after a match, especially to try to end their career. If Kamala wants a challenge, he's got it in Tupelo!

Junkyard Dog did not do well without a
script to follow.

ANGLE: Kamala Is So Confident He

Challenges Junkyard Dog To A Loser Leaves Town Match (89 A)

Bill Watts and Jim Ross announce they are cutting to a video package sent in by Kamala and Friday. Kamala is standing menacingly in what looks to be the wilderness of Uganda (more like Bill Watts' backyard) with Friday by his side. Friday goes on about how much of an alpha male Kamala is, and that the Junkyard Dog has no chance. In fact, he is so confident, he tells the audience that Kamala has requested that if he couldn't beat Junkyard Dog, he will leave the Mid South! He promises that he will send Junkyard Dog out of the territory, and reign as North American Heavyweight Champion forever!

Ted DiBiase defeated Magnum T.A. in

5:37 by submission with a Million Dollar Dream after blatantly
cheating. (74 B-)

ANGLE: Duggan and Williams Storm The

Ring; Borne Rushes in for Reinforcement; Grizzly Smith Makes a Match
(59 C)

Shortly after DiBiase's arm is raised by the referee, there's a roar from the crowd as Duggan and Williams storm the ring! DiBiase gets out of the ring as fast as he can and makes his way to the entrance way, where Matt Borne has run out to back up his partner. Steve Williams grabs a microphone and says that they don't have to wait until Tupelo to fight! Both Duggan and Williams are sick and tired of the shennagins DiBiase and Borne pull, and they demand them to fight like men! DiBiase and Borne yell at the Duggan and Borne and shake their heads, declining their offer. However, match maker Grizzly Smith has made his way to the ring! He steps into the ring and grabs a microphone from Steve Williams. Grizzly Smith has decided that the fans here in the television audience WILL have a match, but it'll be a one on one contest between Matt Borne and Jim Duggan!

Blindsided, Butch Reed slips into a fits of rage and attacks Kerry Von Erich! The referee tries to stop him, but the referee just gets a punch straight to the noggin! He pounds on him while the bell constantly rings, and flattens him with a Gorilla Press Slam! Butch Reed yells to the crowd while getting showered with boos as Mid South Wrestling goes to commercial break.

Junkyard Dog and Mr. Wrestling II drew

with Kamala and Nikolai Volkoff in 10:00 when the time limit expired.

have been offered written contracts by Georgia Championship Wrestling. I do not have the finances or the promotional size (regional) to sign guys to written deals.

Georgia Championship Wrestling has expanded from Regional --> Cult size. They are the only promotion in North America above a Regional level and are poised to become the powerhouses of American wrestling.

Junkyard Dog holds his championship up to the crowd as they are still in shock that The Dog bodyslammed the Ugandan Warrior Kamala! The crowd feverishly cheers on their hero, and he shakes hands with those in the front row and makes his way to the back waving to the crowd.

Going forward, I decided to make Mid South a television centered product. So, Mid South will not be holding end of the month arena shows bar for a few dates a year like on Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. With the nature of all my contracts being pay per appearance, and my workers all working for other companies... it seems to be the most logical step to make MSW television centered.

This week's episode opens up with Nickolai Volkoff and Skandor Akbar. Volkoff stands proud with the Russian flag, and he goes on about how Americans are all weak, especially Mr. Wrestling II. Akbar gives the challenge to Mr. Wrestling II that if he's such a true patriot, why doesn't he put the pride of America on the line against Nickolai Volkoff?

Terry Taylor defeated Tim Horner in

5:08 by pinfall with a Five Arm. (41 D)

Ted DiBiase defeated Magnum T.A. in 8:18 by

submission with a Million Dollar Dream. (68 C+)

Magnum T.A. Was really off his game.

ANGLE: Ted DiBiase Kicks Matt Borne Out

of The Rat Pack! (58 C-)

Despite winning the match, Ted DiBiase tells the audience he has some unfinished business! He calls out his own partner, Matt Borne! He then punches Matt in the face and beats him to the mat! The audience and announcers are in shock. Ted grabs a microphone and tells Borne he is USELESS! and boots him out of the ring. Ted then tells the audience and the viewers at home that he has a new partner, and he promises this announcement next week will shake the Mid South to its core!

Volkoff demands an answer from Mr. Wrestling II for his challenge! As Skandor Akbar is slandering the good name of America, Mr. Wrestling II storms his way from the back and accepts! He stares down Volkoff and doesn't back down, to the roar of the crowd.

ANGLE: Ted DiBiase Announces His New

Partner! (71 C+)

Jim Ross stands at ringside with Ted DiBiase. Ted DiBiase is dressed up for this occasion in a fine suit. Jim asks Ted who this mystery man is, and how we have all been on the edge of our seats waiting to see who it is. Ted hypes him up as a real man, a man with a few screws loose... but he can get the job down. The brawn to his brains.

"Ladies and gentlemen, my new partner is.....

.........

...

'ROWDY' RODDY PIPER!"

"Hot Rod" comes through the curtain and the audience is in complete shock! Hot Rod gives a menaichal laugh and embraces his new best friend, Ted DiBiase. Roddy grabs the microphone from Jim Ross

"SCRAM!"

He shews Jim Ross away and Jim quickly obligies by nearly sprinting away. Roddy laughs at the fear he struck into the poor young announcer trying to do his job. Roddy tells the audience him and "Teddy" are going to be kicking ass and taking names! Duggan.... Williams..... You better cherish those belts, because THE RAT PACK are going to be on top!

Roddy Piper has debuted his Loose
Cannon gimmick.

It has gotten an initial rating of Very

Good.

Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid

defeated Buddy Landell and Jim Neidhart in 5:13 when Dynamite Kid
defeated Buddy Landell by pinfall with a Diving Dynamite. (51 D+)

During his three months away from the Mid South, not having a paycheck and having to work odd jobs to barely feed his family.... He felt HATRED for the Junkyard Dog. Because of The Dog dropping the ball in that loser leaves town tag match. Dog failed to break up the pin, and Olympia says he did it on purpose to save his own behind! For months, while he barely kept a roof over his head... He watched Junkyard Dog wrestling every week and the crowd cheering him on. It made him sick! Then along came a saving grace.... A young man who hates The Dog as much as I do. A young man with deep pockets and paid off my mortgage, helped me feed my family... Jim Cornette!

Jim shakes Olympia's hand and grabs the microphone. He says that Junkyard Dog should be disgusted with what he did to Mr. Olympia, and that he should watch his back. Mr. Olympia is a new man, and we're coming for the North American Heavyweight Title!
