73rd Anniversary Show & NWA PowerSurge - Sat 16 October 2021
Joe Galli hypes the card for the 73rd Anniversary Show. He talks about the feud between Brody King and PCO, and how he can't believe how PCO would turn his back on King for a cheater. He talks about Perfect Chaos, stating that maybe they've got more than they can handle as The Awakening have to face three other teams, and Joe Hennig doesn't even know who he's fighting yet. He talks about the feud between the J.E.T. Squad and Jax Dane, stating Dane shouldn't be so hungry for revenge over a couple of losses. He says that he's glad Kamille is no longer in Strictly Business, and now she can find her true self. He talks about Homicide & Effy, and says he's glad they're taking on Anderson. He says he doesn't like how Thunder Rosa's acted lately, but he thinks maybe this match with Melina will cool her off. Finally, he talks about Nick Aldis vs. Aron Stevens. he says that he's been on the edge of his seat every time he commentated their last two matches, and he knows it'll be an up close and personal match tonight.Battle Royal
The Dynasty, The Dawsons, Effy, Eli Drake, JR Kratos, James Storm, Jordan Clearwater, Matt Cross, Rene Dupree, The Rock N Roll Express, Scott Steiner, and The Pope take part in a 15 man battle royal, where the winner will face Joe Hennig for the National Heavyweight Championship. Perfect Chaos come out to watch the match, and it starts. All 15 men end up in a brawl, with The Dynsaty & Scott Steiner attacking JR Kratos, Eli Drake, James Storm fighting The Dawsons, The Rock N Roll Express going after Rene Dupree, Matt Cross going against Jordan Clearwater. Dupree is immediately eliminated, and across from them JR Kratos is about to be eliminated. Rock N Roll Express go to his aid, beating back The Dynasty and Scott Steiner. On the other side of the ring, Cross eliminates Clearwater, but Pope, who was hiding in the corner, eliminates Cross from behind. Drake & Storm then eliminate both members of The Dawsons.. The Dynasty then manage to eliminate The Rock N Roll Express. This leaves Drake & Storm, The Dynasty, Scott Steiner, and The Pope in the match. Pope hides in the corner as The Dynasty & Steiner go after Eli Drake & James Storm. Steiner gets Drake on the ropes and hits him with a massive blow, dazing him. He goes to clothesline him, but Drake ducks and Steiner goes over the top rope, but holds on on the apron. Drake turns around and knocks Steiner off, but before he turns around, he's low-blowed by Pope, who eliminates him. James Storm, seeing this, instantly eliminates The Dynasty out of anger by clotheslining them over the top rope at the same time, and he goes after Pope. Storm throws a punch, but Pope ducks it and eye-pokes Storm, and hits his finisher. He starts rolling Storm out of the ring, but Drake is at ringside and he pushes on Storm to keep him in. Pope then goes to the apron and calls out Drake. The two are shouting as Storm gets up and crawls behind Pope, then gets up lifts Pope over the top rope. Pope holds onto the apron, and Drake tries to hit Pope and knock him off, but Pope hangs on. As Storm tries to force Pope out, Pope grabs him and drags him over the top rope! Storm avoids falling to the floor and on the apron, battling Pope. Pope is beating attacked by Drake from below and Storm on top, then Pope kicks Storm in the groin and hits him in the face. Storm falls to the floor, making Pope the winner of the battle royal after 13 minutes.
Winning the battle royal, The Pope gets back in the ring to celebrate, but Drake, angry at him low-blowing Storm to win, chases him into the ring and the two brawl. Trevor Murdoch runs out to help Drake and Storm manages to get up and join in. Then, as Pope is getting beaten, Jax Dane runs out and attacks J.E.T. Squad, cleaning house and making them retreat. He doesn't pick Pope up, but instead looks at him and shakes his head, then leaves.
Billy Corgan comes out to open the show with the induction ceremony of the 2021 NWA Hall of Fame inductees. He introduces Aron Stevens & JR Kratos with the family of Jocephus, then Jazz, then Tim Storm with J.E.T. Squad. He presents them with gold medals with the NWA logo, and allows each to make a short 3 minute speech. Jazz talks about her women's title reign, and says she's glad to have been champion for nearly 1,000 days, with her voice trailing off as she says one thousand days. She says that now she's ready to run the women's division, and she intends to be fair, impartial, and keep people in line. Tim Storm steps up for his speech and talks about his long career. He says that the NWA Allowed him to have a career revival late into his career, and he's thankful he got to be the Worlds Champion. He looks over to Aron Stevens, and says that even though he knows Stevens doesn't want anyone at ringside, he's rooting for Stevens. After his speech, Stevens, Kratos, and the family of Jocephus, walk up. His wife, Abriella of Amazonia, talks about him as a person. Stevens talks about working with Question Mark, and says that tonight's match, win or lose, is dedicated to the memory of Jocephus. A Question Mark chant breaks out as the ceremony ends after 15 minutes.
NWA World Tag Team Championship
The Awakening (c) vs. Fred Rosser & JTG vs. The Wildcards vs. The Von Erichs
With Joe Hennig, Rock N Roll Express, Aron Stevens & JR Kratos, and Strictly Business at ringside, The Awakening defend their World Tag Team Championship against Fred Rosser & JTG, The Wildcards, and The Von Erichs. Starting out are Kon, JTG, Latimer, and Marshall. JTG and Marshall team up to take on Kon & Latimer, but they're beaten back. First, Kon tosses Marshall out of the ring, then watches Latimer beats down JTG with a series of movies. As soon as JTG is down, Latimer turns around into a massive big boot by Kon, who goes for the pin, but Latimer kicks out. Kon drags Latimer over to tag out to Vik, and they double team Latimer, then pin him, but the count is broken up by Marshall. Marshall battles them both, but they irish whip him into the ropes. Ross tags himself in then, and he comes in running. He ducks an attempted clothesline by The Awakening, then bounces off the ropes behind them and hits a bulldog on them. Kon rolls out of the ring as Ross pins Vik, who kicks out. JTG is able to tag in Rosser, who then comes in strong against Ross, and Rosser quickly hits his finisher and goes for the pin, but Vik stop the count. Vik demolishes Rosser and hits his finisher, but then is hit on the head from behind by Royce Isaacs, who was tagged in. Vik turns around as Isaacs tries to flee, but Vik catches him and drags him to the corner. He tags out to Kon, and they double team Isaacs. Kon goes for the count, but at 2.9 it's broken up by Rosser. The Awakening then double team him, but Rosser battles them both, and throws Vik out of the ring, then throws Vik into the corner, and tags in JTG. The two do a double team move, but it's reversed by Kon, who throws JTG into Rosser. JTG turns around and Vik picks him up, but Vik is then hit from behind by Tom Latimer. Vik calmly puts JTG down as Latimer looks at him, then ends up in a punching match with Latimer, which ends when Latimer ends up with Kon's hand around his throat, ready for a chokeslam. JTG gets up and tries to get away, but Kon gets him to, and he double chokeslams both JTG and Latimer. Then, Marshall, who was tagged in, pushes Kon out of the ring and pins Latimer, who barely kicks out. Marshall goes to pin JTG, who also kicks out. Marshall is then attacked by Kon, who throws him back to his corner and tags out to Vik. They do a double team move on Marshall, then go to pin him together, but the count is broken up by Isaacs. They each look at Isaacs, and pick him up, then throw him out of the ring. Suddenly, Fred Rosser comes from behind them and battles them, but this time they gain the upper hand and they do their double team finisher on him. Kon gets out of the ring as Vik pins Rosser for the win to retain their titles after 15 minutes.
At ringside, Joe Hennig is smirking at Rosser. JTG gets off the apron and walks up to him, then punches him. This begins a brawl between Perfect Chaos against JTG, Aron Stevens, & JR Kratos. Strictly Business watch from ringside. The Rock N Roll Express and The Von Erichs help Stevens & Kratos, and Rosser eventually gets up from in the ring and helps them to. Finally, with an 8-3 advantage against them, Perfect Chaos back off. Then, Strictly Business come up from behind them, and with the numbers now at 8-6, it seems like a brawl will break out, but instead, Nick Aldis steps forward and offers his hand to Aron Stevens. As Stevens goes to shake it, he moves his hand away and smirks at Stevens, telling him he's gonna enjoy beating Stevens tonight. Strictly Business leaves.
Homicide & Effy vs. Mr. Anderson
Homicide & Effy take on Mr. Anderson. Homicide starts out against Anderson, and runs towards Anderson as soon as the bell rings. Anderson rolls out of the ring, and taunts Homicide, as Homicide tells him to get in the ring. Effy, who went around the ring, gets up behind Anderson, who jumps when Effy touches him on the shoulder. Realizing it's Effy, he attacks him, but Effy gets out of the ring and taunts Anderson. Anderson throws a punch, which Effy ducks, then Effy kicks Anderson in the stomach and puts him in the ring. Homicide, who was waiting, goes to work on Anderson, and he beats him up ruthlessly. He gets Anderson into a cross armbreak, trying to break his arm like he did with Anderson, and he refuses to let go, even as the referee counts him out. Effy gets in the ring and tries to pry him off, but he can't, and the referee actually counts out Homicide, giving Anderson the win via DQ after 7 minutes.
Effy can't pry Homicide off of Anderson. An entire group of security and referees finally get him off. Effy confronts Homicide, asking why he just cost them the match, and in response Homicide tells Effy that if he can't stand his style, then he should leave. Effy walks away as Homicide is dragged out by security.
NWA World Women's Championship
Kamille (c) vs. Mickie James
With Allysin Kay, Ashley Vox, Delmi Exo, ODB, and Strictly Business watching from ringside, Kamille defends the World Women's Championship against Mickie James. The match starts out as a pure wrestling match, with both women trying to up the other. James uses her veteran instinct to avoid Kamille's power moves, but then she's caught by Kamille, who performs a running powerslam, and pins James, but it only gets a 2. James then resorts to cheating, and she calls out to Strictly Business. Aldis throws her a pair of brass knuckles, but the referee sees, and they argue for a moment. Kamille is near the ropes, and The Wildcards sneak up. They get on the apron and try to choke her, but she quickly gets out of their grasp and hits them off. Furious, she runs towards Mickie James, pushing past the referee, and decimates her. She hits her finisher and gets the win after 12 minutes.
NWA Television Championship
Jax Dane (c) vs. Trevor Murdoch
With Eli Drake & James Storm at ringside, Jax Dane defends the World Television Championship against Trevor Murdoch. It's an absolute hoss fest, as they trade heavy moves and blows. Powerslams, powerbomb, clotheslines, big boots, and just about every other major move are used. Of course, there's a 10 minute time limit, and as it gets to 8 minutes, Jax Dane suddenly realizes he needs to put away Trevor Murdoch. He fights harder, but is running out of gas, which allows Trevor Murdoch to hit his finisher on Dane. He goes for the pin, but Dane kicks out! Murdoch rolls over and Dane gets up first, picks up Murdoch, hits his finisher, then he picks him up, and hits it again. He pins Murdoch to get the win after 9:37.
#1 Contenders Match To NWA World Women's Championship
Thunder Rosa vs. Melina
Thunder Rosa takes on Melina with Serena Deeb & Marti Belle at ringside. Melina actually doesn't cheat during the match, as she wants to prove that she's a better wrestler than Thunder Rosa. The match is very close until Thunder Rosa unleashes a fierceness not seen in her in a while, and she takes control of the match. After 15 minutes, Rosa hits her finisher and pins Melina to get the win.
Serena Deeb comes in the ring to celebrate with Thunder Rosa, who instead leaves the ring and ignores her as she walks to the back.
Loser Leaves NWA
Brody King vs. PCO
Brody King takes on PCO. The match starts with them having a staredown as King asks PCO to leave Dupree and be his tag partner again. He extends his hand, and PCO looks at it, then slaps it away as he gets King into his finisher. He hits it, and pins him. King doesn't kick out, and PCO gets the win after 3 minutes.
As Brody King lays on the ring, Rene Dupree runs out to celebrate with PCO. PCO instead ignores him as he looks at the fallen body of his former friend. He then tells Dupree to set up two tables, and Dupree does. He tells Dupree to set up two chairs underneath the tables, which he does. He and Dupree then pick King up and drag him to the edge of the ring. They get him on the top turnbuckle, then PCO looks for a moment between PCO and Dupree. Dupree says to throw King, and PCO and Dupree throw King into the tables. Dupree taunts over King's fallen body as PCO leaves.
NWA National Heavyweight Championship
Joe Hennig (c) vs. The Pope
Joe Hennig takes on The Pope with The Awakening at ringside. Pope starts out the match trying to cheat, but Hennig outsmarts him and he uses his wrestling skill to slowly dismantle Pope. Pope makes a comeback when he reverses Hennig's finisher, and instead hits his own. He goes for the pin, but Hennig kicks out. Pope then takes out something small, but the referee forces him to throw it away. Pope throws it on the mat, and as the referee removes it from the ring, takes out a small chain from his boot, and hits Hennig with it. He throws away the chain as the ref turns around, and he goes for the pin. Hennig kicks out! Pope argues with the referee as Hennig comes from behind and rolls him up, but Pope kicks out at 2. He gets up and ends up in Hennig's finisher. Hennig hits it, then pins Pope. The referee makes the 3 count, and Hennig wins the match to retain the National Heavyweight Championship after 17 minutes.
A video airs, stating out showing footage of Nick Aldis' Worlds Title victory over Cody at the 70th Anniversary Show. It shows the formation of Strictly Business. Then, it shows the first appearance of Aron Stevens with The Question Mark. It shows various segments featuring them, then it shows their final appearance. It shows Aron Stevens winning the World Tag Team Championship with JR Kratos. Suddenly, the memorial graphic appears on the screen for Jocephus, and screenshots of various news articles and tweets about his death appear. Aron Stevens message of dedicating his match at Back For The Attack to Jocephus appear. Footage of the match plays, including the ending of Aldis cheating to win, and Stevens confronting Aldis on Power. IT also shows Stevens & Kratos being confronted by The Wildcards, mocking Question Mark, and them beating The Wildcards. It cuts to Stevens & Kratos losing the tag titles, then to Stevens announcing he'd be in the Ten Pounds of Gold tournament. It shows JTG forfeiting to Stevens, then clips of Aldis feuding with Stevens, Kratos, Fred Rosser, and JTG. Finally, it shows Stevens' matches at Ten Pounds of Gold, then Aldis telling him to fight now. It shows parts of their match, including the ending. Then, it shows JR Kratos fight for Stevens against Strictly Business, then Stevens returning to endorse Rosser. It shows Rosser's loss, then it shows Stevens challening Aldis again and being rejected, before showing Kratos threatneing Mickie James, and Aldis accepting the challenge. It shows Stevens & Kratoa recent matches against Strictly Business. It ends with the words of Stevens on the most recent episode of Power, and ends with the chants of Question Mark as his face appears.

Two Out of Three Falls Match
Nick Aldis (c) vs. Aron Stevens
Aron Stevens makes a 5 minute entrance through the crowd with a Question Mark mask as a part of his gear. He gets to the ring and points to the Mongrovian flag he placed in the rafters back in March. Strictly Business come out, but as they exit the curtain, Aldis smirks at Stevens, and sends the rest of Strictly Business to the back. He taunts the crowd and flaunts the Worlds Title, and he gets in the ring. Stevens offers one final handshake, but Alids ignores it, shoving the title in Stevens face. The match begins, and Aldis immediately eye-pokes Stevens. The referee makes them separate to give Stevens time to recover. Aldis turns to taunt the crowd, but Stevens doesn't wait to recover. Instead, he rushes towards him, and turns him around, punching him multiple times. He irish whips him and Aldis comes back and ducks him, but Stevens ducks an attempted punch to the back of the head as Aldis comes off the ropes behind him. Aldis comes back again and this time is sent over the top rope by Stevens. The two go outside and brawl all around the building. Aldis throws Stevens into the interview booth, then gets on top of him, punching him. Little does he know, the referee is still counting. He realizes it, but can't get back to the ring in time as the referee counts to 10, putting 1 point on the board for both wrestlers. Now, whoever can get one pin, will win. Aldis, furious, goes back to Stevens as the ref begins to count again, but Stevens kicks him in the leg and knocks him down. Stevens gets to the ring and Aldis follows. When he gets in the ring, Stevens and Aldis go to war, battling each other with various moves. Then, Aldis gets Stevens down and puts him in his finishing submission hold. Stevens is in pain, but refuses to tap. He crawls and goes towards the rope, but Aldis drags him away. Stevens then manages to get out of the hold, kicking Aldis off. Stevens gets up and gets Aldis in position for his finisher, but Aldis reverses and instead hits a DDT. He pins Stevens, but Stevens kicks out. Aldis then puts Stevens back in the submission hold, but Stevens quickly stops him and gets him in a figure four leg lock. Aldis doesn't tap, but manages to reverse the hold onto Stevens. Stevens reveres the hold back to Stevens, then Aldis hits Stevens. The two trade blows until they release the hold. They lay on the ring as the ref counts. Sldis gets up as the ref counts to 5. Stevens is down, but gets up as the ref counts to 9. Aldis goes towards Stevens, but Stevens elbows him in the stomach, then hits his finisher on Aldis. He pins Aldis, but Aldis kicks out at 2.9 and Stevens picks him up again, but Aldis reverses the attempted finisher and bodyslams Stevens. He rests in the corner and waits for Stevens to get up. Stevens gets up and Aldis runs towards him for a big boot, but Stevens gets out of the way. Aldis turns around and ends up on the receiving end of Stevens hand on his throat. Stevens yells out "KA-RA-TE" and hits Question Mark's finisher on Aldis. Aldis doesn't kick out, and Stevens gets the win via pinfall, getting the second fall and winning the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship after 21 minutes.
JR Kratos, Fred Rosser, and JTG run out and celebrate with Aron Stevens. Kratos and Stevens shake hands as the four men celebrate. Then, Nick Aldis gets up and gets in Stevens face. He taunts Stevens and tells him he's not worthy of the title. Stevens then low-blows Aldis as revenge for their match in March, as Strictly Business run out. They surround the ring, but behind them Kamille, The Rock N Roll Express, The Von Erichs, J.E.T. Squad, Effy, Allysin Kay, Ashley Vox, Delmi Exo, Jazz, Matt Cross, ODB, Serena Deeb, and Taeler Hendrix (all the other faces) come out. They surround Strictly Business, and so Strictly Business helps Aldis out of the ring and they leave. Stevens, Kratos, Rosser & JTG get out of the ring and Billy Corgan appears and shakes hands with Stevens. Stevens is lifted into the air and carried towards the crowd. They put him down and he walks through the crowd with Kratos, Rosser, and JTG and they celebrate with the crowd as the 73rd Anniversary Show ends.
