Ajax, Bayern, Parma and Boavista... that group is so early 2001, for real... I'm Portuguese and I'd lie if I said I remember Boavista in the Champions League, because I was 3... but they had an impressive run.
Nevermind, the save is running smoothly for you, as you're heading to the second group stage of the CL (I loved that format, tbh). Judging by the results in the League... you're leading. Right?

Ajax is still leading, but I suspect the final match will show which two team that advances to the next stage. Parma is still a threat. PSV Eindhoven is also doing well in their group (I'll post more details later when the group stage is finished. Feyenoord isn't doing that well in Champions League, but are doing really well in the Eredivisie).

Portugal have been weird so far, because Benfica is really struggling. Last time I checked they were in the lower end of the league. Sporting, Porto and Boavista have done better, but Sporting's bluechippers are headhunted by Barcelona.

We were near bankruptcy, while Porto and Sporting were doing fine. Boavista also seemed like a new force but that was temporary. Fun fact: Boavista's only league title came in a season when Boavista's president was the son of the league's president... (not that there was any major corruption case or anything, but they played really dirty...)

Benfica is underperforming despite having a solid foundation, but they need to sign more high level players. Currently they only have Nuno Gomes. Porto and Sporting have the best teams on paper and the best talents.
Vit. Guimaraes is a phenom, because on paper they don't have any stars and looks like a bottom team.
Sporting have made great signings in Junior Baiano (free transfer), Roque Junior (Milan) and Florentin Petre (Dinamo Bucharest). When they promote Ricardo Quaresma (super potential) from the B team they will become even better. If they can keep him. Since Barcelona constantly tries to steal him, like they did with Cristiano Ronaldo.
