That Italy was also very good... no shame in a draw there.

Just so you know: I liked the 1-4 post with a sour click. Portugal's team is odd, to say the least. Some names were long gone from the national team IRL by that time, while others like Edgar and Romeu were always pretty much afterthoughts. It's also funny that we have 6 strikers in the 20 names ahah
Andy van der Meyde was a gem in CM 01/02, from what I've read, becoming Netherland's best player. Right?
Your starting line-up is ridiculously solid. So solid that Seedorf and Overmars are not first choices, wow. Btw, is Bergkamp already retired from the national team?

Dennis Bergkamp have been injured, so Rafael van der Vaart have replaced him in the playmaker spot. Overmars is speedy, same with Boudewijn Zenden, but otherwise Andy van der Meyde and way better passing and shooting skills after a months of playing and practising. Some of the veterans will get a real challenge in keeping their spots. Holland U21 have been tearing it up with talents like Maarten Stekelenburg, John Heitinga, Joris Mathijsen, Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie, Youssouf Hersi, Chedric Seedorf, Stefano Seedorf and Dirk Kuijt.
Andy van der Meyde and Arjen Robben are probably the best Dutch wingers at the moment. Skill wise both Victor Sikora, Youssouf Hersi, Ronald De Boer and John de Jong are ahead of Overmars and Zenden.

I actually saw a woman with a Seedorf shirt on yesterday. Not a common occurrence in a smallish Australian town in 2023.
