Post WWE No Way Out - Raw - Triple H vs. Booker T will wrestle for the World Title at 'Mania, one year after their first time ever and previous feud. On Raw March 10th, Booker T & Goldust beat HHH & Ric Flair with Booker getting the best out of HHH. On the following episode, HHH reacts by hitting Goldust with the sledgehammer and injuries him. Eric Bischoff makes the match a Cage Match - After their skirmish, Shawn Michaels finally opens up about his feud with Rock saying that he was rude to his grandma and Rock himself years ago so apologises, but Rock rejects his apologies now that he's the biggest Hollywood star and bigger than the WWE itself. Rock has his concert on March 17th and insults HBK, until Michaels superkicks him from behind - Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho have been feuding for months and, after costing each other both the Rumble and the contender match at No Way Out, their feud is getting very tense. Bischoff books a Dog Collar Match between the two to have a clear winner - As previously booked, Dudleyz will finally have their chance against Lance Storm & William Regal for the Tag Titles. The UnAmericans hire 3MW to stop the Dudz, but on Raw March 10 the Dudleyz beat 3MW and nothing seems to stop them from going to 'Mania - On Raw March 3rd, Kane & Hurricane beat Christian & Test with Kane pinning Christian. Bischoff reacts by giving Kane an IC Title shot and Hurricane, who was a bit jealous at first, gets super excited while Kane asks him not to go over the top and just letting him do the work - On Raw March 24th, Steve Austin cuts a long promo on Hulk Hogan, talking about all the time Hogan held him down in WCW and how Hogan avoided him last year after signing with the WWE. Austin is sorry about quitting, but this is the match he needed to have and he's slowing down but he's got a stunner coming for Hogan
Post WWE No Way Out - Smackdown - Brock Lesnar seems unstoppable and so Kurt Angle tries everything to stop him, but Lesnar defeats all the possible opponents he finds himself against. On Smackdown March 6th, Lesnar & Undertaker beat Angle & Big Show, with Angle getting mad. The weeks go and Angle seems more powerless. On Smackdown March 20th, Paul Heyman tries to talk Lesnar out of the match, but Lesnar hits him with an F-5 - As mentioned above, Big Show and Undertaker are feuding as well after the issues they had in the last couple of months. On Smackdown March 13th, Show beats Rhyno with a clean finish and sends a message to Taker - Apart from being Angle's bodyguards, WGTT are still undefeated in tag competitions and they get a title shot at the Los Guerreros when Stephanie McMahon rewards them. Their feud is going quite even, as Eddie Guerrero beats Shelton Benjamin on Smackdown March 6th, but then the following week Charlie Haas defeats Chavo Guerrero to even the score - John Cena keeps rapping about how bad he is and the respect he got for no one, but on Smackdown March 6th he gets interrupted by Chris Benoit, who slaps him and demands respect. Cena backs down from the fight and spits fire on Benoit in the following weeks without actually accepting his invite to fight, so Stephanie is tired of his words and books a match for 'Mania - Matt Hardy wants Rey Mysterio to become his new disciple to back out of his 'Mania title shot, but Mysterio of course refuses. On Smackdown March 20th, Mysterio tags with his former WCW partner Billy Kidman to defeat Hardy and Jamie Noble - On Smackdown March 27th, Hulk Hogan answers Steve Austin's promo claiming that his accusations are unfair and the reason he's always been on top is that he draws more than everybody else. Hogan mocks Austin for just taking his ball and going home last year, but Stone Cold arrives from the crowd and hits Hogan with a stunner to close the show
WWE WrestleMania XIX 30.03.2003
Seattle, WA
0. WWE Tag Titles: The Dudley Boyz (c) (w/ Spike Dudley) def. William Regal & Lance Storm (w/ Trish Stratus) (5 mins) The match takes place during Heat, as the preshow of the PPV. After reuniting at the Series, the Dudleyz get a cool moment here by winning the titles back. It's quite of a spring due to time constraints, Spike stops Test's run in and the Dudz hit a 3D on Regal to pin him and win the belts
0. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Matt Hardy (c) (w/ Shannon Moore) def. Rey Mysterio (w/ Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson) (8 mins) This is on Heat as well. Contrarily to what happened in the previous match, Mysterio doesn't go over here as his title run can be delayed for another bit and Hardy was doing well as the champion anyway. Mysterio hits the 619, but then Hardy counters his offense to a dirty roll up and retains the title
1. Dog Collar Match: Chris Jericho (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Rob Van Dam (13 mins) This is the "real opener" and a heated match for that matter. Jericho is 0-2 in PPVs against RVD and wants to beat him desperately, as both former champions want to go back to the title hunt. RVD is on top for the five star frog splash, but Jericho shakes the collar making him fall and then uses the chain to apply more pressure on the walls and RVD has to tap out
2. Chris Benoit def. John Cena (w/ Dawn Marie) (10 mins) Cena's 2003 rapper character got over the more he disrespected anyone Benoit is the guy you just can't disrespect without getting an as* kicking. Cena takes a beating here and shows potential with his attacks, but this is a good spotlight for him even losing, while Benoit needs to go over and does it with the crippler crossface
3. WWE IC Title: Christian (c) (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Kane (w/ The Hurricane) (6 mins) Christian's mission is almost impossible here, as Kane is also fighting for a title that is technically "below him". Hurricane gets in a fight with the interfering Test and surprisingly chokeslams him, distracting Kane so Christian wins with a low blow and an inside cradle. Post match, Hurricane tries to cheer up Kane, who turns on him
4. WWE World Tag Titles: World's Greatest Tag Team def. Los Guerreros (c) (9 mins) This can get all the time that it would get on another occasion, but 9 minutes is enough for these two really good teams to come up with a nice little match and hold their own in the middle of the card. Los Guerreros try to cheat as much as they can, but WGTT does it to and Benjamin's superkick on Chavo gets them the belts
5. No Holds Barred: Hulk Hogan def. Steve Austin (15 mins) An iconic match here, that should have happened no matter what and that needs to be on the show at all costs. The stipulation doesn't mean hardcore spots, but it's a way to help them in case they struggle along the way, both Hogan got a good match out of Vince McMahon here and Austin did well with Rock too, so this should hopefully be decent in the ring and huge outside. Hogan has ironically more wrestling ahead of him, so he goes over with the legdrop. Postmatch Vince McMahon appears and tells both of them that he created both Hogan and Austin, but Austin hits him with the stunner
6. WWE World Title Steel Cage Match: Triple H (c) (w/ Ric Flair) def. Booker T (w/ Goldust) (14 mins) I know, Booker is losing again, but I really don't see him winning the belt here no matter how over he was, as the timing was terrible. Here I need HHH to keep it for a bit after a lot of title changes and so Book can't get it in my version of the world either. They go back almost 2 years with their feud and the cage can be a good tool for them. It gets bloody and HHH, after hitting the pedigree, barely escapes by crawling a bit quicker than Booker
7. The Undertaker def. The Big Show (w/ A-Train) (7 mins) They had an okay rivalry and a decent chemistry here, but a singles match is better than a tag and especially a handicap match. It's a giant's fight to see who's the baddest. Show is made to look absolutely great here, but he makes the mistake of refusing to win by countout after a chokeslam on the concrete. Taker so comes back and, after a long struggle, wins the match with an impressive last ride
8. The Rock def. Shawn Michaels (17 mins) Along with Hogan/Austin, this is another match that should have happened no matter what, both the promos and the match would have been fabulous. Interestingly, here Rock is the prick and Michaels is the diehard babyface, but it would have been the opposite just a few years prior to this. HBK has the match won with his sweet chin music, but the referee falls on the match as well and can't count. Rock is sneaky with his comeback and manages to win after the people's elbow on Shawn
9. WWE Title: Brock Lesnar def. Kurt Angle (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) (18 mins) Props to Angle for being so injured and still wrestling a very good match here, guiding an uncertain Lesnar to an outstanding main event. Lots of physicality and some amateur stuff to make the contest heated and realistic, but Lesnar appears always to be in control as long as Angle doesn't take him down to the mat and works on his leg to facilitate the ankle lock. Big Show's interference is stopped by Undertaker and Lesnar hits two F-5 to pin Angle and become WWE champion again

Post WrestleMania XIX - Raw - On Raw March 31st, Steve Austin announces his retirement and Eric Bischoff laughs about it, but Vince McMahon doesn't want Austin to leave so he makes him a Co General Manager and Stone Cold stuns Bischoff before accepting the job - Triple H is still the World champion, but Shawn Michaels and Booker T are still trying to get the belt off him. Also, on Raw March 31 Kevin Nash comes back trying to make peace between HHH and HBK to reform the Kliq, but HHH and Ric Flair attack him from behind until Shawn Michaels makes the save. With HBK, Nash and Booker as an united front, HHH and Flair recruit Chris Jericho to join them, as Jericho had past issues with Booker and Nash, plus he affirms to be better than Michaels himself - Speaking of Jericho, on Raw April 7th Y2J loses to Rob Van Dam in a 'Mania rematch and the Un-Americans react by attacking RVD with the Canadian flag until he bleeds and gets stretchered out - Due to his rebellion, Regal gets kicked out of the Un-Americans and turns face. On Raw April 14th, Regal beats Val Venis to get some revenge on the group. Trish pushes Christian to step up and face Regal to teach him a lesson - On Raw March 31st, The Rock celebrates his win over Shawn Michaels saying that he's done all that there is to do but Goldberg debuts and spears him. The following week, Rock asks for time off to finish up with a few movies, but Austin reminds him that he has another match on his contract and books Rock vs. Goldberg - After their split at 'Mania, Kane is now haunting Hurricane and, after turning heel, he wants to hurt him in every way possible for making him a joke. Hurricane tries to talk sense into Kane, but Kane is furious and unreasonable and Hurricane knows that he needs to step up and fight him to end this
Post WrestleMania XIX - Smackdown - On Smackdown April 3rd, Kurt Angle announces that he needs time off for his broken neck and shakes hands again with Brock Lesnar, congratulating for the 'Mania victory but warning him that he wants a rematch when he's ready - Big Show is not that friendly and, with Angle gone, he is again Paul Heyman's main weapon against Lesnar. On Smackdown April 3rd, Big Show beats Undertaker and injuries him. Big Show and Hulk Hogan participate in a Battle Royal for the number one contender spot, but they end up eliminating each other, which makes them go at war against each other. Stephanie McMahon smells money and books Hogan vs. Show - The battle royal mentioned above sees Chris Benoit as the winner, eliminating John Cena last. Benoit challenges Lesnar and vows to get the WWE Title, while Lesnar is happy for the challenge - WGTT are the new champions, but now by themselves as Angle has gone away. They are still feuding with Los Guerreros and a tornado match gets booked for Eddie and Chavo's rematch clause - The whole Cruiserweight division is sick of Matt Hardy's cheating ways and so Stephanie books a four way with him, Rey Mysterio, Jamie Noble and the newly turned babyface Tajiri. On Smackdown April 17th, Mysterio & Tajiri beat Hardy & Noble when Mysterio pins Hardy
WWE Backlash 27.04.2003 Worcester, MA
1. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Tajiri def. Matt Hardy (c) (w/ Shannon Moore), Rey Mysterio and Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) (14 mins) This can be a good opener, with a good pace as the referee gets instructed to kick Shannon Moore and Nidia away from ringside straight away and the match become spectacular. Mysterio is the favourite, but he falls from the ring after a hurricanrana on Noble and Tajiri pins Hardy with the buzzsaw kick
2. Kane def. The Hurricane (w/ Mighty Molly) (5 mins) This is basically a squash and maybe not really a PPV match, but it's still an undercard deal and it's needed to push again Kane as a monster after a long babyface sting. Kane has no mercy for his former friend and doesn't chokeslam him, as he hates the move due to Hurricane imitating it, so he wins with the tombstone
3. WWE Tag Titles Tornado Street Fight Match: World's Greatest Tag Team (c) def. Los Guerreros (12 mins) A bit of chaos is needed here and Los Guerreros are favourites here, not only they are the most experienced team but the loose rules resemble the lucha tag rules that they are more used to. Haas and Benjamin struggle a lot, but here they debut the move of superkick and german suplex combo to pin Eddie after a low blow0
4. WWE IC Title: Christian (c) (w/ Trish Stratus) def. William Regal (11 mins) This could have been a really nice and solid technical match, with Christian now fully comfortable in singles action and Regal still good on the mat. Regal is going away due to various issues, so he can put Christian over on his way out and loses to him after being hit with the unprettier for the pinfall
5. The Big Show def. Hulk Hogan (8 mins) Hogan beats Austin but he's leaving soon and he needs to pass the heat to somebody, so that somebody has to be Big Show, as Hogan was tight with him and would have done the job for him on the way out. Hogan fights with honour, but Show kos him with a chokeslam on the announcers' table and then one in the ring as well to win the match
6. Booker T, Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash def. Triple H, Ric Flair & Chris Jericho (15 mins) I liked this match here, it wasn't the hottest thing but it's needed as no one is ready for a title shot at this moment and it combines different feuds in one contest. It was a pretty good match too. RVD comes back to attack Jericho, so the heels struggle and Nash pins Flair after the jacknife while HHH seems intimidated
7. WWE Title: Brock Lesnar (c) def. Chris Benoit (17 mins) They had really good chemistry but never wrestled on a PPV and I think that it's a shame, as it would have been a good match with a lot of intensity and a high technical level. They can go out for time, without a heated feud but the sheer competition motivating them and the crowd. Benoit has a long crossface on and Lesnar seems as weak as he's never been, but he reaches the ropes by miracle. Lesnar counters a german suplex and then hits the F-5 to retain, but then shakes Benoit's hand
8. Goldberg def. The Rock (10 mins) Again, this wasn't great or anything but it worked and it drew. Goldberg comes in hot and needs to go over someone big, Rock is on his way out and has heat for beating HBK, so that is perfect. They don't need to go for long, a simple formula of Rock being scared and then taking over in an arrogant way can do, if the crowd is into it then half of the job is already done. Rock gets overwhelmed by Goldberg's comeback and the jackhammer gets Goldberg the victory

Post Backlash 27.04.2003 - Raw - Triple H is surrounded by title contenders and Eric Bischoff books a contender match on Raw May 5th between Kevin Nash, Kane and Booker T. HHH interferes along with his new stable Evolution, made by Ric Flair and Randy Orton, causing a no contest. Steve Austin punishes HHH by making a four way between him and the three contenders. On Raw May 12th, Nash & Booker defeat Kane & HHH by DQ when Kane loses his mind - Speaking of Evolution, Shawn Michaels is fighting the stable and wants a match with Ric Flair for the Rumble betrayal. On Raw May 12th, HBK beats Randy Orton by DQ - The Rock takes an hiatus after his loss against Goldberg - On Raw April 28th, Goldberg says he arrived to the WWE to win the World Title and he proceeds on a winning streak like the WCW one he had. Raw wrestlers get asked about Goldberg arrival and Chris Jericho insults Goldberg for staying away from him in WCW - Rob Van Dam is willing to get revenge on Chris Jericho for the injury caused to him and their feud continues - The Un-Americans also lose Lance Storm, as he was unhappy about the way his partner William Regal got treated - On Raw April 28th, La Resistance (Sylvain Grenier and Rene Dupree) debut accompanied by Gail Kim and quickly get on The Dudley Boyz's nerves for their attitude
Post Backlash 27.04.2003 - Smackdown - Hulk Hogan leaves the WWE due to the injuries caused by Big Show. On Smackdown May 1st, Show tries to finish Hogan during his farewell speech, but Brock Lesnar arrives to defend Hogan. Stephanie McMahon books Lesnar vs. Show in a Last Man Standing Match to play off their long feud - On Smackdown May 1st, WGTT attacks Chavo Guerrero and he gets injured. Eddie is now looking for a partner and approaches his old friend Chris Benoit, saying that they might not be best friends anymore, but they were a great unit and have a good chance to do well. Benoit, who doesn't like WGTT due to his former feud with Kurt Angle, accepts but warns Eddie not to screw him - John Cena is getting more popular and his raps are getting quite risqué. On Smackdown May 8th, Rhyno, who has a good streak since his arrival, challenges Cena to a match but Cena seems intimidated and leaves the ring - Tajiri is happy to be Cruiserweight champion and again and Rey Mysterio congratulates him on Smackdown May 1st, but wants a title shot. However, Tajiri must defend against former champion Matt Hardy first
WWE Judgment Day 18.05.2003 Charlotte, NC
1. No Holds Barred Match: Rob Van Dam def. Chris Jericho (15 mins) They have been feuding for quite some time, with Jericho getting the upper hand at 'Mania. RVD could really do with a good win to bounce him up, especially in a match where a lot of cool spots can take place. Goldberg interferes to spear Jericho and so RVD finishes him with the five star frog splash
2. John Cena (w/ Dawn Marie) def. Rhyno (8 mins) Cena is not the most polished worker yet, but he did well in 2003 against the veterans, especially because he took a lot of beatings and sold them quite well. Rhyno can do okay with his intensity, with Cena cheating and finding a way to survive all the time. Cena uses a low blow and then the F-U to win
3. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. The Dudley Boyz (c) (w/ Spike Dudley) (7 mins) Non title match deal, as La Resistance is quite too new to get a title shot straight away but the division is so new that I need to rush them into a feud against the Dudleyz, I really have no other good alternatives. The new guys are arrogant but still good and Dupree upsets D-Von with a dirty roll up
4. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Tajiri (c) def. Matt Hardy (w/ Shannon Moore) (12 mins) Hardy is on his way to Raw quite soon and he can now get out of the title picture by putting Tajiri over, as the Japanese can get another good win before his feud with Rey Mysterio. This could be a good match with no major issues, Tajiri hits the buzzsaw kick and retains
5. Shawn Michaels def. Ric Flair (w/ Randy Orton) (15 mins) We are in Charlotte and the result might be different, but HBK just lost a few important matches recently and needs a victory to stay on top. Orton is there to get more heat on Flair as a heel, as the two constantly cheat during the match. HBK seems stronger than any adversity and wins with the sweet chin music
6. WWE World Tag Titles: Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero def. World's Greatest Tag Team (c) (16 mins) This could easily be the show stealer and a nice way to ignite a division that doesn't have too many alternatives out there to be quite honest. The chemistry is there and the talent too, Eddie gets isolated but then Benoit does really well with the hot tag and submits Haas to the crossface for the title change
7. WWE World Title: Triple H (c) (w/ Ric Flair) def. Booker T, Kane and Kevin Nash (12 mins) This could be fine or a disaster, depending on a lot of things, but it's a way to milk HHH vs. Nash before the blowoff as I don't feel they can draw for 2 consecutive PPVs. Kane basically takes himself out of the match after he chokeslams pretty much all the security staff and gets escorted away. It's a three way and HHH struggles, but he pins Booker with the pedigree after Flair distracts Nash
8. WWE Title Last Man Standing Match: Brock Lesnar (c) draws The Big Show (w/ Paul Heyman) (10 mins) This feud has gone for long and, with Kurt Angle out of action again, Show gets a lot of heat trying to dethrone Lesnar again after destroying even Hulk Hogan. This is perfect to do the ring collapsing angle they did on Smackdown, as the squared circle collapses after a superplex from Lesnar. No one gets up after the 10 count and so the match is a no contest. Hate non finishes myself, but the spot is cool enough to make people forgive that

June 2003 has arrived and it marks the start of the mono-brand PPVs, that will last for 4 years
Each brand will now have its own 4 PPV, while Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Summer Slam and Survivor Series will be hosted by both Raw and Smackdown
When recapping the month before a mono-brand PPV, I will only focus on the brand who is hosting the next event to avoid confusion
---
Post Judgment Day - On Raw May 19th, Booker T and Kevin Nash face off in a number one contender match. Evolution interferes again to spoil the party, but at the end Nash manages to pin Booker after a jacknife. To avoid all the Evolution interferences, Steve Austin makes HHH vs. Nash a steel cage match and he will also be at ringside as a special enforcer to whip some as* - As Ric Flair was in the contender's match to hit Booker T, Booker asks Steve Austin for revenge as Flair has ruined his chances of being the champion multiple times. Austin so books Flair vs. Booker for the PPV, in their home state of Texas - Shawn Michaels still wants to get a shot at the World Title, but his war with Evolution puts Randy Orton on his journey. Flair and HHH hype Orton as the future of the business, HBK sees his talent but wants him not to get too arrogant for his own good. On Raw May 26th, Orton debuts the RKO to knock out Michaels and Eric Bischoff, proud of him, books HBK vs. Orton for the PPV. Stacy Keibler is now also in Randy Orton's corner as his girlfriend - Chris Jericho is furious at Goldberg for attacking him at Judgment Day. On Raw June 2nd, Goldberg squashes Test and Jericho is really intimidated. Jericho begs Bischoff, saying that he was right not too book him vs. Goldberg in WCW and shouldn't even book it now, but Bischoff sees money in this and decides to make the match - Kane is out of his mind lately, due to his heel turn. On Raw May 19th, he attacks a few lowcarders in the ring until Rob Van Dam knocks him out with a spinning kick. RVD just helps his colleagues, but this triggers Kane big time and now Kane is all focused on getting revenge on RVD, who is trying in vain to get Kane to be reasonable - After their non title win against The Dudleyz, La Resistance get a title shot at Bad Blood. Dudleyz are upset because of the arrogant heels and want to beat some respect into them - As discussed in the previous post, Lance Storm is out of Un-Americans as well but on Raw June 2nd he pins Christian in a tag team match and so gets a title shot. Jericho vs. Storm happens on Raw June 9th, but it ends in a no contest when Goldberg interferes - Due to the mono-brand PPVs incoming, Eric Bischoff decides that Raw needs another belt and so he creates the Hardcore Title (the 24-7 rule is not and will never be a thing). A mini-tournament made of hardcore matches is made. In the quarterfinals: Al Snow def. Rodney Mack, Tommy Dreamer def. Val Venis, Spike Dudley def. Rosey and Steven Richards def. Hurricane. In the semifinals, Dreamer def. Snow and Spike def. Richards, so Dreamer vs. Spike Dudley will be the final WWE Bad Blood 15.06.2003
Houston, TX
1. WWE IC Title: Christian (c) (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Lance Storm (13 mins) These two had a good chemistry as partners and I expect them to do well as opponents too. Storm's career is almost done and he would have been a good test for Christian to go over and continue his long reign. Storm hits the superkick, but Christian is too close to the ropes and then comes back to win with the unprettier
2. Rob Van Dam def. Kane by DQ (11 mins) Kane is getting creepier and more violent, with RVD being a victim as he created an issue with Kane despite not having any problems with him before hand. RVD's offences are too quick to block and they infuriate Kane even more, so Kane gets disqualified after ignoring the 5 count from the referee and then chokeslams RVD on the concrete
3. WWE Hardcore Title: Tommy Dreamer def. Spike Dudley (decision match) (7 mins)
I'm not the biggest fan of this belt, I didn't even have it during the Attitude era, but with mono-brand PPVs having a 4th title match can be handy to fill the undercard so let's see how it goes. They don't get a lot of time and it's the spotfest match of the night, Dreamer hits Spike with a DDT on a trashcan and wins the title
4. Shawn Michaels def. Randy Orton (w/ Ric Flair and Stacy Keibler) (15 mins) They faced in 2003 and it was a good match, it's the first time Orton gets some quality PPV time and he did well for himself. Michaels continues the war with Evolution and also finds time to put over the young opponent. Orton controls the match thanks to some heel tactics, but HBK is just too experienced and wins with the sweet chin music
5. WWE Tag Titles: La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. The Dudley Boyz (c) (8 mins) I spoke about it in the previous post, they division is not what it used to be so I have to indulge in some feuds that I didn't 100% enjoy as a fan. Dudleyz are beating the hell out of the heels, but Rob Conway also debuts hitting Bubba and he gets finished by the Au Revoir, for the title change
6. Booker T def. Ric Flair (w/ Randy Orton) (11 mins) We are in Houston and, as much as Booker T as champion wasn't on my horizon, he's still an important player and needs a good homecoming match. He can't beat HHH, but he got Ric Flair here so it should be an entertaining match with a few comedy spots too. Booker goes over with the scissor kick and celebrates with his hometown fans
7. Goldberg def. Chris Jericho (12 mins) They actually wrestled on this PPV and it was not bad, I like the storyline concept of Jericho now begging management not to book the match he desperately wanted in WCW, because Goldberg seems quite unbeatable. Jericho has a great showing, but he gets pinned after the jackhammer and Goldberg keeps his streak intact
8. WWE World Title Steel Cage Match: Triple H (c) def. Kevin Nash. Special Enforcer: Steve Austin (17 mins) This was an okay main event, I think they would have done better in a Cage Match as they got more experienced and the pace would have been a bit more interesting. Evolutions tries to interfere, but Steve Austin fights both Flair and Orton off. In the ring, Nash gets HHH up with the jacknife but HHH picks the sladgehammer and hits Nash on the head, falling on him for the win

As explained yesterday, the mono-brand PPV era is now on and so Smackdown's recap goes from Judgment Day, not from Bad Blood
---
Post WWE Judgment Day - On Smackdown June 5th, Kurt Angle comes back from his injury and as a babyface, putting over Brock Lesnar for beating him at 'Mania but wanting a rematch as he already told him. Lesnar is happy to give him one, but Big Show is still on the title contention after the non finish at Judgment Day. Stephanie McMahon makes Lesnar vs. Show again for Smackdown June 19th, but Lesnar wins by DQ when Show gets too violent. Angle saves Lesnar and Stephanie books a three way match for Vengeance - John Cena keeps disrespecting anything and anyone, so on Smackdown June 19th he dares anyone to try and stop him and Undertaker shows up, saying that Cena has been playing with fire for too long. Cena keeps rapping against Taker in a vulgar way, but Taker always gets the best of their physical interactions. Stephanie books Taker vs. Cena - On June 19th, to make sure that Smackdown has a 4th belt as well due to the mono-brand PPVs arrival, Stephanie McMahon brings back the US Title saying that the first champion will be crowned at Vengeance. In the quarterfinals: Eddie Guerrero def. Hardcore Holly, Rhyno vs. A-Train ends in a double DQ, Chris Benoit def. John Cena and Rikishi def. Matt Hardy. In the semifinals, Eddie gets a bye and Benoit def. Rikishi. So it will be Eddie vs. Benoit for the US Title - This strains the already weird relationship between Eddie and Benoit, as Eddie publicly says that he can't wait for Chavo to heal and be Tag champions with him again, but still asks Benoit to fully trust him, which Benoit doesn't. The competitiveness around the US Title makes them argue and on Smackdown July 3rd, WGTT defeat Eddie & Benoit to regain the World Tag Titles - WGTT have also their new opponents in line, after Rey Mysterio defeats Shelton Benjamin on Smackdown June 26th. WGTT beat Mysterio down, but Billy Kidman saves his former WCW partner and the two agree to get back together as a tag team to get revenge - After the double countout during the US Title tournament, Ryhno and A-Train keep feuding and a match is booked for Vengeance - Tajiri keeps doing well as Cruiserweight champion and now has his former partner and champion Jamie Noble on his horizon. Nidia gets involved a lot of times and Tajiri warns her not to get in his way - On Smackdown June 26th, Ultimo Dragon debuts on Smackdown as a babyface and beats Nunzio. Dragon wants the cruiserweight title, but Matt Hardy interrupts him and wants to teach him a lesson as he proclaims himself the best cruiserweight of the WWE - On Smackdown June 12th, The Acolytes reunite on Smackdown when Bradshaw gets drafted from Raw. Their celebration is spoiled by The Basham Brothers, who debut as well and attack them from behind while their manager Shaniqua watches. Bradshaw and Faarooq are quite furious about the rookies trying to make a name like this
WWE Vengeance 27.07.2003 Denver, CO
1. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Tajiri (c) def. Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) (12 mins) I liked their actual feud and they had good chemistry, apart form being really extremely good in the ring as well. Tajiri can do well as a babyface, especially overcoming the odds. Nidia tries to stop his mist on Noble, so Tajiri actually mists Nidia herself and then pins Noble after the buzzsaw kick
2. Rhyno def. A-Train (8 mins) Good little midcard feud, as Rhyno was still a bit over at the time and winning a minor feud like this is not bad for him. After the non finish on Smackdown, they have heat with each other and this match is a slugfest as well, so I'm keeping it quite short. Rhyno hits the gore and wins by pinfall
3. The Acolytes def. The Basham Brothers (w/ Shaniqua) by DQ (5 mins) These two teams start brawling even before the official ring bells and so for the referee maintaining order is so difficult. The match seems to then quiet down, but Shaniqua passes chairs to her men and they attack the Acolytes for the DQ, continuing the assault after the match as well
4. WWE US Title: Chris Benoit def. Eddie Guerrero (decision match) (20 mins)
This actually happened and, as usual with these two involved, it was a great match and the perfect way to introduce the US Title. Their brief stint as tag champions also ignited their frenemy status and so there would be quite a lot of heat in this. Eddie fakes an injury, but Benoit knows him better and rolls him up to win the belt
5. Ultimo Dragon def. Matt Hardy (w/ Shannon Moore) (8 mins) Dragon is on his way in and Hardy is on his way out, so the result is quite natural here. It's a good way to introduce Dragon, as he faces a solid and reliable opponent here on PPV. Hardy keeps having issues due to his big ego, he can hit the twist of fate but wastes time so Dragon counters it to the dragon sleeper and Hardy taps out
6. WWE Tag Titles: World's Greatest Tag Team (c) def. Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio (w/ Torrie Wilson) (15 mins) Another match from the original PPV that I'm keeping, as this was outstanding. It also keep Mysterio busy outside the cruiserweight division and keeps the tag division buzzing big time. The faces have the match won after Kidman hits a shooting star on Haas, but Benjamin hits Kidman with the belt and an exhausted Haas pins Kidman
7. John Cena (w/ Dawn Marie) def. The Undertaker (15 mins) I am keeping this as well and always thought that it was Cena's final exam, as the company started really believing in him after this program. Cena talks a lot, but Taker dominates in the ring and controls most of the match. However Cena was hiding a chain in his pocket and, when Taker gets him up with the last ride, hits him straight in the head. The referee missed it and Cena shockingly pins Taker when he seemed hopeless
8. WWE Title: Kurt Angle def. Brock Lesnar (c) and The Big Show (w/ Paul Heyman) (17 mins) This is the original main event too, which tells you how amazing this PPV really was. A really enjoyable three way, with a lot of cool dynamics: Lesnar/Angle are frenemies, Lesnar/Show hate each other and Heyman is there too, Angle/Show used to be allied but not anymore. Nothing really to change from the original match. Lesnar hits an F-5 on Show but his legs, after Angle worked on them, give out so Angle knocks Show with an angle slam and wins the title

Post Bad Blood - Raw - On Raw July 21st, Goldberg defeats Kane in a number one contender match and wins a title shot against Triple H at Summer Slam. Goldberg is still undefeated and keeps his streak alive defeating Randy Orton on Raw July 28th and Ric Flair on Raw August 4th. On that show, HHH tries to attack Goldberg with the sledgehammer but Goldberg spears him causing HHH a groin injury. HHH demands for the title match to be voided, but Steve Austin warns him that he will lose the title by forfeit if he doesn't wrestle at Summer Slam - On Raw June 16, Chris Jericho moans for losing to Goldberg saying that Eric Bischoff is sending ex WCW wrestlers to humiliate him when he represented them when he joined the WWE in 1999. Kevin Nash also steps in and accuses Jericho of suffering for not being a champion in WCW and not in the WWE today. They wrestle on Raw July 14th and Jericho beats Nash. Postmatch, the Un-Americans attacks Nash with a chair (he's done) until his friend Shawn Michaels comes to the rescue. HBK starts a feud with Jericho and dares him to fight him on Summer Slam to prove once for all if he's really that good - The Un-Americans are not having a great time as, on Raw August 18th, Van Dam & Michaels beat Jericho & Christian with RVD pinning Christian. Jericho is frustrated and argues with Christian - After weeks of being tormented by Kane for no reason, RVD gets revenge by costing Kane a title shot kicking him before his match with Goldberg on Raw July 21st. Kane reveals that he's tired of being seen as a weak clown and people like RVD getting to the top sickens him. Their interactions get more violent and Eric Bischoff books a Last Man Standing match for Summer Slam - La Resistance has shocked everybody after winning the Tag Titles and now, with also Rob Conway joining the group, they seem really hard to beat. The Dudleyz are not done with them and lose their rematch by DQ on Raw August 4th. Bischoff, as Spike and Conway keeps interfering in the matches, books a six men for Summer Slam with makes the Dudz angry as they wanted a title shot - Booker T is continuing his feud with Evolution and sets his target on Randy Orton, who keeps running his mouth and shows no respect - Tommy Dreamer defends the Hardcore Title against Rosey on Raw July 28th. In the meantime, Maven is tired on not being considered and says he wants to try the hardcore division to show that he's tough (enough?)
Post Vengeance - Smackdown - On Smackdown July 31th, Brock Lesnar saves Kurt Angle from Big Show and Paul Heyman gets on the mic, accusing Lesnar of becoming soft as he used to kil* people and now he's just Angle's bitc*. Lesnar snaps and hits Angle instead, then hugging Heyman and turning heel. On Smackdown August 7th, Lesnar admits of getting soft as he showed compassion for injuring Angle's neck at 'Mania, but now he's back with Heyman and will never be soft again. Heyman tries to compromise between Lesnar and Show, as Show is not friendly with Lesnar. Stephanie McMahon is happy to book Angle vs. Lesnar for Summer Slam, their 'Mania rematch - John Cena's ego is an all time high after beating Undertaker. On Smackdown July 31st, Cena squashes Funaki but Taker appears and lays Cena down, saying that he wants a rematch. Cena refuses and says he got nothing to prove, but Stephanie says that, since Cena is so good at using his chain, he can actually fight Taker in a proper chain match and see what happens - Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero's friendship is not at a great stage after Vengeance. On Smackdown August 7th, Benoit defeats Billy Gunn and then Eddie cuts a promo on Benoit, saying that he cheated to beat him and that really breaks his heart, with Benoit being sarcastic as Eddie is the one that cheats usually. Eddie wants another shot and Benoit accepts if Eddie puts his precious mullet on the line. Eddie doesn't want to, but Stephanie loves the idea and books the match - On Smackdown August 7th, Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman and Tajiri bear WGTT & Jamie Noble in a six men match. Mysterio gets the pin and he vows for a rematch against WGTT, which Stephanie grants as the first one was a great contest and also makes it a Ladder Match - On an interview, Tajiri encourages Rey Mysterio to go for the World Tag Titles belt and befriends him. The interviewer asks him if he's trying to get Mysterio away from the cruiserweight division, but Tajiri ignores it - Ultimo Dragon is still undefeated in the cruseirweight division - The Basham Brothers and The Acolytes are still feuding. On August 14th, The Bashams hit Faarooq with a double suplex on the concrete and cause him an injury
WWE SummerSlam 24.08.2003
Phoenix, AZ
1. WWE World Tag Titles Ladder Match: World's Greatest Tag Team (c) def. Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio (w/ Torrie Wilson) (13 mins) These two did great at Vengeance and I think they would kill it in a Ladder match too, which would be super fresh because none of them has ever been in one in the WWE. The challengers are obviously favourite, but we start seeing some great arsenal from Benjamin, who flies from a ladder to another and grab the belts
2. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. The Dudley Boyz & Spike Dudley (6 mins) This is the only throwaway match from the card and I am keeping it short. It enhances the feud, of course, and also involves the minor players here. I have an idea, so instead of the classical formula of the champions losing the non title match, here Dupree pins Spike after hitting him with their flag
3. Chain Match: The Undertaker def. John Cena (w/ Dawn Marie) (12 mins) After a lot of talks, cheap shots and hiding, it's finally time for Cena to get his receipt. Undertaker doesn't take this match lightly, like he did at Vengeance, and Cena ends up bleeding. Cena still puts on a great fight, but at the end Taker wraps his beck with the chain and uses the last ride to get the pinfall 4. Chris Jericho (w/ Christian and Trish Stratus) def. Shawn Michaels (18 mins)
This is the 'Mania match, which I didn't do only because I had a rare chance to do Rock vs. Michaels. They face here and I would keep the match exactly the same, as it was a great one of course. I am changing the finish though, as the series of roll ups sees Jericho getting the upper hand. HBK congratulates Jericho postmatch and shakes his hands, Jericho hesitates but Christian attacks HBK from behind and Jericho joins in the beatdown
5. WWE US Title vs. Hair: Eddie Guerrero def. Chris Benoit (c) (15 mins) Their Vengeance match was outstanding and they are both getting a big push in a bit, so another match between the two is not a bad idea. Benoit plays this as the face and Eddie is getting there too, even though he's afraid to lose his precious mullet. This time Eddie outsmarts Benoit, performing a fake frog splash so when Benoit gets up Eddie is ready behind him to roll him up and win the belt. They shake hands after the match
6. Last Man Standing Match: Kane def. Rob Van Dam (12 mins) The stipulation fits the match as RVD, who at first wanted no part of Kane, recently got mad for his attacks and wants revenge. They use a lot of weapons throughout the match and RVD also dives here and there, hurting both Kane and himself. Kane brings the steel steps in the ring and tombstones RVD twice on them, so RVD can't get up before 10 and Kane wins
7. WWE Title: Kurt Angle (c) def. Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) (17 mins) This wasn't as good as their 'Mania match, but it was the hottest Smackdown angle at the time and I'm keeping it. It also switches the roles to the better ones, as Lesnar is the heel now and Angle is the babyface. Lesnar is so sure and confident of himself, so he doesn't pin Angle after the first F-5 and tries a second one, but Angle slides from his shoulders and applies the ankle lock. Lesnar suffers for a couple of minutes and then is forced to tap out, so Angle retains
8. WWE World Title: Goldberg def. Triple H (c) (w/ Evolution) (3 mins) HHH was injured, I get it, but he's working against Goldberg and his best matches are squashes so... why not? I wouldn't build a whole Elimination Chamber to hide HHH's state, as in 2002 we established that match as being a great one and not a farse. HHH's injured and so really nervous, so Evolution attacks Goldberg before the match even starts but they both get a spear. HHH tries to use the sledgehammer to get disqualified, but he gets a spear too and then a jackhammer for the title change. Not Goldberg's biggest fan, but this would have worked, it would have hidden HHH's limitations quite well and given the fans a great reaction after an unexpected finish

Post SummerSlam - Raw - Goldberg is the new champion and Triple H wants his rematch straight away, but Evolution convince him to wait for his groin to heal 100%. Eric Bischoff wants to punish Goldberg and gives a title shot to Kane, who's been on a roll and undefeated since his heel turn at 'Mania. Kane doesn't seem to fully care about the title, but he's fascinated from the prospective of hurting Goldberg. On Raw September 15th, Kane no sells a spear by getting up and tombstones Goldberg - HHH wants to sit out the PPV and rest, but Steve Austin disagrees with this and books him in a No DQ Match against Shawn Michaels, who's still at war against Evolution. HBK/HHH have been feuding for more than a year now and Michaels is also continuing his rivalry with Chris Jericho too. On Raw September 8th, Booker & Michaels beat Flair & Orton, which doesn't make Trips happy at all - Thanks to helping Shawn Michaels in his feud with Chris Jericho, RVD holds a win over Christian on August and so gets named number one contender for the IC Title. On RAW September 8th, Christian celebrates his 365 days as champion with a long promo, but RVD knock him out with a spinning kick - Booker T is still having issues with Evolution and now Ric Flair wants him to face Randy Orton. Orton is developing his legend killer character now and disrespect Booker big time, but Booker slaps him hard in the face on Raw September 8th and Orton leaves the ring acting really shook - Eric Bischoff refuses to give the Dudleyz another shot at La Resistance, as they lost a non-title match at Summer Slam, but The Dudleyz offer to put their careers on the line. Bischoff accepts and Stone Cold makes it a tables match to spice things up, which Bischoff doesn't appreciate - Chris Jericho, while feuding with HBK, gets back in the Un-Americans business telling Christian that he's disappointed by him as a second in command. Jericho vows to beat his former partner Lance Storm to also show Christian how to get the job done - Tommy Dreamer is still the Hardcore champion, while Maven is trying to get success in the division with unstable luck. Raven gets a title shot against his mortal enemy Dreamer. On Raw September 8th, Raven & Steven Richards beat Maven & Dreamer - Hurricane starts tagging with Rosey, who becomes his fat and goofy sidekick, but on Raw September 15th they get attacked by Lance Cade & Mark Jindrak, who call themselves The Bad Wolves (I know, terrible name) and want to make a statement in the tag division
WWE Unforgiven 21.09.2003 Hershey, PA
1. Chris Jericho (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Lance Storm (12 mins) Jericho is frustrated about having to work this match, as Christian wasn't good enough to get rid of Storm and wants to both teach Christian a lesson and two get revenge on his old partner, who is not impressed by Jericho's career choices. They have chemistry and would have a good opener, Jericho submits Storm with the walls
2. WWE Hardcore Title: Tommy Dreamer (c) def. Raven (10 mins) We are in Pennsylvania, the home of ECW, and this match would be really appreciated by the live craw due to its nostalgic feel. They can do what they want for 10 minutes, literally bringing in all the items they want to hit each other. Dreamer DDTs Raven on an enflamed trashed can and wins by pinfall
3. The Bad Wolves def. The Super Heroes (6 mins) It's a squash, which could have literally gone both ways, but the babyfaces will stick longer together as a tag team and so can build their underdog profile later year by year. Cade and Jidnrak were okay as I team I guess and they go over here with a dropkick into a spinbuster on Rosey
4. Randy Orton (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Booker T (13 mins) This is another important test for Orton, who's getting more PPV time as the months goes and facing prestigious opponents. Being the heel, he also gets to call the match here and Booker would help him with good selling. Booker hits the scissor kick, Flair interferes but he gets punched and Orton nails a low blow and the RKO for a dirty upset
5. WWE Tag Titles Tables vs. Career Match: The Dudley Boyz (w/ Spike Dudley) def. La Resistance (c) (w/ Rob Conway Gail Kim) (11 mins) Again, we are in Pennsylvania and the crowd would have rooted big time for the Dudleyz. Stone Cold ejects everybody from ringside and so it gets to a normal 2 vs. 2. There is some drama as the heels are close to get the victory, but at the end a 3D smashes Grenier on the table and the Dudleyz regain the titles
6. WWE IC Title: Christian (c) (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Rob Van Dam by countout (14 mins) This is Christian's hardest challenge by far, as RVD is a former world champion and seems really interested in winning the belt, especially due to his continuous issues with the Un-Americans. Christian dominates the match, RVD makes a good comeback and is ready for the five star, but Trish rolls Christian out of the way and he loses by countout. Postmatch, RVD still dives on both Christian and Trish, it's not over between them
7. No Disqualification Match: Shawn Michaels def. Triple H (w/ Ric Flair) (17 mins) Having a No DQ match after a non-finish is almost a way to pay the fans back. They always do good when they don't go for 30+ minutes, so this would be another nice contest here. HHH's groin is still not fully healed in storyline, so HBK frees himself from a pedigree quite easily. HHH tries to hit Michaels with the sledgehammer, but he got both his hands over his head and so HBK has full space to kick Trips with the sweet chin music and get the pinfall
8. WWE World Title: Goldberg (c) def. Kane (10 mins) This would be a slugest, so it doesn't go long and it's better to keep it short and sweet. Goldberg is undefeated, Kane is unbeaten since his turn 6 months earlier... they can go all out and Goldberg would also bleed here. Kane stops the spear with a big boot, but his chokeslam attempts is again stopped by himself after thinking of something. Kane shakes his head and tries the tombstone, but it's enough for Goldberg to finally heat spear and jackhammer to retain

Post Unforgiven - Raw Before talking about Raw in the next post, it needs to be highlighted that on Raw October 13th Rob Van Dam beats Christian to win the IC Title
---
Post Summer Slam - Smackdown - Kurt Angle is still feuding with Brock Lesnar and their feud gets a turning point when Stephanie McMahon books a last match between the two at No Mercy, it will be a Cage Match to keep Paul Heyman and Big Show out of the ring. On Smackdown October 16th, Angle also injuries Lesnar with the ankle lock to keep him out of the PPV and him alone with the animal in the cage - Speaking of Paul Heyman, his masterpiece is to pay Show a lot of money and convincing him to coexist with Lesnar, suggesting that, with Lesnar as WWE champion and Show as US champion, they will rule Smackdown. So Show sets his sights on the US Title and tries to bully Eddie Guerrero, who sprays a lot of human faces on him on Smackdown October 9th as revenge - Eddie will wrestle twice at No Mercy, as him and the returning Chavo Guerrero beat WGTT in a non title match on Smackdown September 18th to win a title shot. Eddie tries to negotiate and have the match against WGTT on Smackdown, but Chavo keeps insisting and at the end Eddie accepts - Undertaker and Chris Benoit are both looking for a title shot and Stephanie books a contender match between them. They never faced each other and have respect for each other, but they both want the shot - On Smackdown September 25th, Paul Heyman also tries to recruit John Cena in his stable but Cena, after listening to the crowd cheering for him, takes time and he's not sure. Heyman wants to test him against Rhyno - On Smackdown September 11th, Rey Mysterio beats Jamie Noble to get a title shot at Tajiri. Tajiri tries again to delay his title defence against Mysterio and asks him to become a tag team, but Rey Rey really wants his opportunity and so Tajiri kicks him from behind, turning heel and telling him that he will never take his belt away - Also, a four way for the ranking in the cruiserweight division is announced for the PPV: Hardy, Kidman, Dragon and Noble will be in the ring - The feud between Acolytes and Basham Brothers is continuing after both teams got suspended for a month for excessive chaos, Stephanie books a match for No Mercy and says she will keep an eye on them
WWE No Mercy 19.10.2003
Baltimore, MD
1. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio def. Tajiri (c) (15 mins) I really liked their 2003 feud and also think that Rey Rey benefited from not getting the belt straight away, as his feuds with Edge and WGTT helped his profile. It's time though and, when Mysterio kicks Tajiri in the mouth so the champion swallows the green mist, then Mysterio can also hit the 619 and west coast pop for the pinfall
2. The Basham Brothers (w/ Shaniqua) def. The Acolytes (7 mins) The Bashams attack Faarooq on the stage and so the latter can't really perform, he stays on the ground hurt and Bradshaw gets dominated in a handicap match. Faarooq finally gets the hot tag, but his shoulder is injured and Danny pins him after the baldo bomb, for some kind of upset
3. Ultimo Dragon def. Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson), Matt Hardy (w/ Shannon Moore) and Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) (11 mins)
This is my spotfest of the night, it would be a good match and it also helps keeps everyone relevant as it's four really good workers. Everyone has the chance to shine, but again Dragon keeps his undefeated streak and pins Hardy after a sunset flip, with the other two unable to stop the pinfall on time
4. WWE World Tag Titles: Los Guerreros def. World's Greatest Tag Team (c) (13 mins) Chavo is really focused and wants the titles, also to get revenge on WGTT for injuring him, but he spends most of the match on the apron while Eddie is dominated by the champions. Eddie finally seems to be in control, but Chavo steals the tag and pins Benjamin after the frog splash. Chavo is so happy, while Eddie is glad he got the titles back but is a bit annoyed and really damaged
5. John Cena def. Rhyno (9 mins)
I know this can't really go for long, as 2003 Cena only shined with ring generals and Rhyno is a solid competitor at best. The best part is that Rhyno has a lot of intensity and Cena can sell really well, so they can play on their strengths. Rhyno misses the gore and Cena pins him clean after the F-U
6. #1 Contender Match: The Undertaker def. Chris Benoit (14 mins) This match was only done a couple of times and never on a big stage, due to Benoit's style he can benefit from fighting the biker and not the deadman so I got good hopes. This also testifies Benoit's growth, as he shockingly kicks out from the last ride and counters the second to a crossface, but Taker is too close to the ropes and saves himself. Taker hits a second last ride and wins, but then shakes Benoit's hand
7. WWE US Title: The Big Show def. Eddie Guerrero (c) (6 mins) Post Cena/Rhyno, Los Guerreros are getting interviewed backstage and Chavo leaves to party, which leaves Eddie by himself. Eddie is already tired and also got to face someone like Show, so Eddie goes all out and tries to cheat to keep the belt in anyway. Show is too fresh and pins Eddie after the chokeslam to win the title
8. WWE Title Steel Cage Match: Brock Lesnar def. Kurt Angle (c) (18 mins) This can be a good blowoff of a long feud, also the no rematches clause keeps me away from repetitive booking. This gets bloody and violent, they both bleed and Angle seems able to tame the beast in the cage, even though he takes a lot of punishment as well. Angle knocks Lesnar from the top of the cage with headbutts, but instead of escaping he tries the moonsault and Lesnar grabs him for a devastating F-5 to win the title back

Post Unforgiven - Raw 21.09.2003 - Goldberg is continuing his feud with the dangerous Kane, who shows no remorse for his actions and no particular interest for his own wellbeing. On Raw October 27th, Kane attacks Goldberg with a tombstone on the stage. An ambulance arrives to rescue Goldberg, but Kane takes control of the wheel and crashes the vehicle on a wall. Goldberg gets a minor injury, but will be back for Survivor Series and Steve Austin makes it an Ambulance Match - Goldberg also has to keep an eye on Triple H, who still wants the World Title. On Raw October 20th, HHH adds Batista as fourth member of Evolution and Batista debuts by squashing Goldust. HHH and his mortal enemy Shawn Michaels are named captains of teams. HHH chooses his own stable, while HBK picks Rob Van Dam and The Dudley Boyz, saying he will need all the extreme help he can to beat Evolution - Speaking of RVD, he's the IC champion and said above and this creates another big argument between Chris Jericho and Christian, as Y2J feels like he's fighting a war by himself. On Raw October 27th, Steve Austin gives Jericho a team and one to Booker T. Jericho picks Christian, Test and Val Venis, even though he warns them he wants no more failures. Booker chooses former Un-American Lance Storm, Tommy Dreamer and Maven
Post No Mercy - Smackdown - New champion Brock Lesnar gets challenged by his old nemesis Undertaker. Paul Heyman criticizes Taker for not giving up and still trying to do what he can't do, but Taker seems really determined to get the WWE Title. Stephanie McMahon makes it a Falls Count Anywhere Match. On Smackdown November 13th, Taker seems to have a turning point and chokeslams Lesnar into the announcers table - Both Kurt Angle and Big Show get a team to choose for the PPV. Angle chooses Chris Benoit and Los Guerreros, who keep not seeing eye to eye every now and then. Show picks the WGTT and then also John Cena, after Paul Heyman stalks him for weeks. Cena doesn't want to join the team, but he then realizes it's his only chance to be at the PPV so accepts and points out that he's there for himself. Cena also drops Dawn Marie, which makes him more of a fan favourite even though he hasn't turned yet - Rey Mysterio and Tajiri will captain a Survivor Series team each. Mysterio picks Ultimo Dragon, Billy Kidman and the newcomer Paul London, who debuts on Smackdown October 30th and beats Nunzio. Tajiri chooses Jamie Noble, Matt Hardy and his new lackey Akio
WWE Survivor Series 16.11.2003
Dallas, TX
1. Rey Mysterio, Ultimo Dragon, Paul London & Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Akio, Matt Hardy, Tajiri & Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia and Shannon Moore) (18 mins) I think that the talent in this ring is outstanding and this would be an amazing opener. London and Kidman do really well together with a lot of combos and Kidman eliminates Akio. Tajiri fakes an injury and then mists Mysterio, who loses by countout, but Dragon surprises Tajiri from behind and hits him with the Asai DDT to survive
2. WWE World Title: Ambulance Match: Goldberg (c) def. Kane (11 mins) A bit weird to have this match second on the card, but it's what it is. It's a wild brawl with no rest or techniques, they fight on their way to the ambulance and on the aisle. Kane is ready to chokeslam Goldberg, but again changes his mind and Goldberg spears through the ambulance door, breaking it with a pop, so he can quickly drive Kane and retain the title
3. Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle & Los Guerreros def. John Cena, The Big Show & World's Greatest Tag Team (w/ Paul Heyman) (17 mins) The babyfaces seem really on fire, but Chavo takes the pin by himself and Show eliminates him. Chavo is mad at Eddie and tells him to go, but Eddie continues. It gets down to Benoit, Angle and Eddie versus Cena and Show. Show pulls Cena's hair to keep him in the corner, so Cena had enough and F-U Show to turn face and leaves the match. Show falls victim of the angle slam, frog splash and diving headbutt so all the 3 babyfaces cover him to survive
4. Chris Jericho, Christian, Val Venis & Test (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Booker T, Maven, Lance Storm & Tommy Dreamer (13 mins) This would probably be the least exciting of my elimination matches, so I am keeping it quite short. The dissension in the Un-Americans is quite high and they can't get along. It gets down to Booker vs. Jericho and Christian. Christian pushes Jericho, who gets pinned by the scissor kick, but then Christian upsets Booker with a roll up and survives
5. WWE Title Falls Count Anywhere Match: Brock Lesnar (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) def. The Undertaker (14 mins) They had a lot of good matches, this won't top the Hell in a Cell but would hopefully still be good. Taker struggles, but he seems ready to win on the stage when Kane interferes and unmasks himself. Taker is shocked and Kane chokeslams him from the 7 feet tall stage, in his first chokeslam done since the heel turn. Lesnar crawls and covers Taker to retain, while the cameras are all over Kane's naked face
6. Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista & Randy Orton (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam & The Dudley Boyz (24 mins) This can be a good main event with the right storytelling, as there are a lot of good workers in here and the story can be interesting as well. Evolution might not be as experienced as the babyfaces, but they work and cheat as a unit. HBK is left alone against Orton and HHH, but he fights like there is no tomorrow. HBK aims to superkick HHH, but Chris Jericho arrives to distracts HBK. Both him and Orton eat a superkick, but then HHH surprises Michaels with the pedigree for the win

Post Survivor Series - Smackdown - Quick note from the blue brand: on Smackdown November 27th, The Basham Brothers defeat Los Guerreros to win the World Tag Titles after another mistake from Chavo. Postmatch, Eddie tries to console Chavo, but his nephew attacks him from behind and turns heel
---
Post Survivor Series - Raw - Triple H goes back to the number one contender spot and gets his rematch now that he's 100% and with a super strong Evolution behind him. HHH is ready to face Goldberg, but Steve Austin again wants no interferences and makes it a Hell in a Cell. Goldberg suffers the numbers game. On Raw December 1st, Goldberg beats Batista by DQ when he is taken down by all 4 of his opponents - Shawn Michaels points out that his feud with Triple H is not over, but is furious at Chris Jericho for ruining his match at the Series. Y2J explains that he's sick of the Un-Americans, and on Raw November 17th he disbands the stable after Christian's PPV triumph, and he feels disrespected for beating HBK at Summer Slam and still not being considered better than him. HBK wants to close the feud and a 2/3 Falls Match is booked for Armageddon - Speaking of Christian, he's getting really selfish and says he doesn't need Jericho or anyone else. Trish Stratus tries to get in the middle to get Jericho and Christian to make up, as they are weaker by themselves, but Christian refuses. Steve Austin is annoyed by his arrogance and says he will face a mystery opponent at the PPV, a new Raw wrestler - After pinning Rob Van Dam at Survivor Series, Randy Orton wants a title shot at his IC Title and Eric Bischoff agrees. He also makes Dudleyz vs. Batista & Ric Flair for the Tag Titles, giving all Evolution members a chance at a title at the PPV. Stone Cold is not happy about it. On Raw December 8th, RVD & Dudleyz beat Orton, Flair & Batista with D-Von pinning Flair after the 3D - On Raw November 24th, Kane does his first interview as an unmasked man and explains that he finished Undertaker because one day he finally had the courage of unmasking himself at home and found out that he's been lied to, he doesn't have serious burns all over his face but he's bad looking because of the incident and his brother never told him. On Raw December 1st, Kane attacks Spike Dudley and Chris Nowinski during a match and then referees and agents. Stone Cold tries to calm him down, but Kane tombstones him too. Eric Bischoff is actually happy about Austin's incident, then he books Kane vs. Booker T as an alleged punishment for Kane's actions - Tommy Dreamer is still the Hardcore champion and, after finishing his feud with Raven, Maven asks for a title shot. Dreamer is a bit unsure that his student is hardcore enough. On Raw December 1st, Maven beats Spike Dudley in an Hardcore match and Dreamer is finally convinced
WWE Armageddon 14.12.2003 Orlando, FL
1. Christian (w/ Trish Stratus) def. Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) (13 mins) Matt Hardy, a new Raw signing, reunites with Lita and is the mystery opponent for Christian, which works quite well as they have a lot of history in common. This can be a good opener, with Hardyz turning face due to the good reception of his return and a meaner Christian, who doesn't hesitate to push Trish into Hardy and win with the unprettier
2. The Bad Wolves def. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim and Rob Conway) (7 mins) Both teams haven't had a lot of space lately, as the alternatives are better, but here they would hopefully have a decent match to fill the card. Cade & Jindrak would be good babyfaces here, as the French-Canadians are so dislikeable, and Jidnrak pins Dupree with the Mark of Excellence
3. WWE Hardcore Title: Tommy Dreamer (c) def. Maven (8 mins) This angle has been building for a while and would pay off here, with Maven wanting to show that he's all grown up and Dreamer not willing to give up the spotlight after working so long to get it. Maven does alright, but Dreamer wins with the usual DDT. They shake hands, but Steven Richards arrives with Victoria and they attack the duo
4. 2/3 Falls Match: Shawn Michaels def. Chris Jericho (23 mins) Trish is complaining about Christian and Jericho makes it worse by telling her to stay backstage for this one, as he wants to beat HBK on his own. This doesn't have the 2008 hate, but it's more based on competitiveness in a time where both were really determined to show their abilities. It's 1-1 and Jericho wants to win with the same Summer Slam roll up, but HBK kicks out and hits the sweet chin music out of nowhere for the pin. After the hesitation at the last encounter, they shake hands here and Jericho turns face
5. Booker T def. Kane by DQ (9 mins) Booker is a sacrificial lamb here, as Kane is furious with the world and vows to destroy everyone and everything that gets in his way. Of course, Booker does his best to defend himself, but this only gets Kane to be even more mad about it. Kane doesn't stop at the 5 count and gets the DQ, then he also hits Booker with the tombstone
6. WWE IC Title: Randy Orton (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Rob Van Dam (c) (16 mins)
The only match of the actual PPV that I'm keeping, as it was a good one and also pushes Orton at the right time, as he was ready to be IC champion and also gets it from someone like RVD. RVD hits an exposed turnbuckle, so Orton finishes him with the RKO and wins the title. I like this finish, as it's technically dirty but not really a fluke
7. WWE Tag Titles: Batista & Ric Flair def. The Dudley Boyz (c) (12 mins) Batista & Flair have only had a few matches as a team and are facing a legendary duo, but they worked okay as a unit and being in the Evolution was a good heat source. Batista is impressive with the power of his comeback and the Dudz struggle quite a bit. Flair hits a low blow on Bubba and Batista finish him with a powerbomb for the title change
8. WWE World Title Hell In A Cell Match: Triple H def. Goldberg (c) (15 mins) This is the blowoff of their feud and a lot of tension has been building in the recent months, as Goldberg wants to stay undefeated and HHH wants to get revenge after being squashed at Summer Slam. They never had much chemistry, but hopefully this is the right stipulation to help them out and use a lot of weapons to enhance the match. Goldberg goes for the spear, but HHH hits him with the sledgehammer. HHH hits the pedigree and then again with the sledgehammer for the count of 3
