Post Armageddon - Raw - Triple H got the World Title back, but Steve Austin doesn't have good news for him as Shawn Michaels, who defeated HHH at Unforgiven, is the number one contender now. The battle between them has been going on for a year and a half and Eric Bischoff makes it a Last Man Standing match. On Raw January 19th, HBK says that he will get injured again just to beat Trips - Goldberg is really disappointed for losing the belt and enters the Royal Rumble, calling himself the favourite. Rob Van Dam and Booker T are also in the contention, while Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista will represent Evolution. On Raw January 12th, Goldberg, RVD and Booker beat Orton, Flair and Batista when Goldberg pins Flair - On Raw January 5th, Trish Stratus tries to solve the issue between Christian and Chris Jericho, but Christian refuses and says he's on his own now. Christian grabs Trish's arm and twists it, but Jericho arrives for the save. Y2J promises to teach Christian a lesson - Randy Orton is also having issues with Mick Foley when on Raw December 15 he interrupts a Foley promo and spits in his face, mocking him for not being a real legend and daring him to do something about it. Foley hesitates, but decides to leave the ring upset - Kane is in the Rumble again, but not to win it and his goal is to destroy 29 other wrestlers in one go like he did with Undertaker at Survivor Series - The Raw participants are: Batista, Booker T, Bubba Dudley, Chris Jericho, Christian, D-Von Dudley, Goldberg, Hurricane, Kane, Matt Hardy, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Rob Van Dam and 2 mystery wrestlers - Stevie Richards and Victoria are a psychotic and creepy duo and she is pushing him towards the Hardcore Title. On Raw January 5th, Richards defeats Maven and launches the challenge to Tommy Dreamer
---
Post Survivor Series - Smackdown - Undertaker is written off TV after the Survivor Series attack from Kane - On Smackdown December 11th, Chris Benoit beats Kurt Angle to become the number one contender to the WWE Title. Angle gives Benoit a few advices against Brock Lesnar, but gets offended when Benoit chooses John Cena as his partner against Lesnar and Big Show on Smackdown January 8th, which the babyfaces win by DQ - As mentioned, Cena is now a babyface and feuding against Big Show after the Survivor Series incident. The two will be at the Royal Rumble as two of Smackdown's top contenders, alongside the above mentioned Kurt Angle. On Smackdown January 22nd, Angle vs. Cena ends in a double DQ when Show interferes. Angle takes advantage of this to run away from the ring and lets Show chokeslam Cena - Eddie Guerrero is in the Rumble as well and wants a chance at the title, but his feud with his jealous nephew Chavo is still on. On Smackdown January 1st, Eddie defeats Chavo in a bloody match and then cuts an inspirational promo, telling the adoring crowd that it might be one of his last chances at the gold - The Smackdown participants are: A-Train, Big Show, Billy Kidman, Charlie Haas, Chavo Guerrero, Eddie Guerrero, Jamie Noble, John Cena, Kurt Angle, Paul London, Rhyno, Rikishi, Sheton Benjamin, Tajiri and a mystery wrestler - After months of fighting on the same side, Ultimo Dragon gets a title shot at Rey Mysterio's Cruiserweight Title. The two shake hands and want a clean and respectful match to see who's the better man
---
WWE Royal Rumble 25.01.2004 Philadelphia, PA
1. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio (c) def. Ultimo Dragon (12 min) I know that this happened a few times before 2004 already and can't be a proper dream match, but it's the only chance ever to see it in the WWE and it needs to take place. It's a face vs. face and Dragon goes in undefeated, while Mysterio is the champion. Rey Rey wins clean with the 619 and then they shake hands
2. WWE Hardcore Title: Stevie Richards (w/ Victoria) def. Tommy Dreamer (c) (w/ Maven) (7 mins) Richards, after being goofy and a lackey for his whole career, gets more intense and dark thanks to Victoria and they target Dreamer to get the hardcore title, as he has known Dreamer for years and years. Richards hits Dreamer with the stevie kick into a chair and pins Dreamer to win the title
3. WWE Title: Brock Lesnar (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) def. Chris Benoit by referee stoppage (16 mins) Benoit is getting a big push and closer to the top, but Lesnar just seems unbeatable for him. I loved their 2003 title match from Smackdown and hopefully that can be repeated here. Benoit is the first person to kick out from the F-5, but then Lesnar uses the brock lock and applies it for a couple minutes until Benoit passes out (à la Austin at 'Mania 13)
4. WWE World Title Last Man Standing Match: Triple H (c) draws Shawn Michaels (20 mins) Another chapter of this never-ending feud, this match was on the actual PPV and it was a good one, apart from enhancing their rivalry in a good way. Can't change much of something that worked well. The finish was good as well, with a double collapse for a count of 10 and Michaels that just barely couldn't get up before the official draw
5. Royal Rumble Match: Chris Benoit wins by last eliminating Kurt Angle (62 mins) Chris Benoit comes as #1 (surprising as he just collapsed less than an hour before) and Randy Orton is #2. Kane comes in as #8 and dominates the match, but then the old Undertaker music gongs as number #12 and a frightened Kane is thrown out by Booker T. Chris Jericho is #15 and does really well, Christian is #23 and proposes Y2J to work together, but then low blows him at the first chance and eliminates him. Kurt Angle makes his way as #17 and gets revenge on WGTT, eliminating both of them. Mick Foley enters at #22 and immediately targets Orton, ending up eliminating both himself and Orton. Eddie Guerrero jumps in as #25, he rescues his frenemy Benoit. John Cena is #27 and he then gets in a fight with Big Show, who comes in as #28. Show throws Cena out, so Cena helps Goldberg and he eliminates Show. Goldberg is #30 and seems on fire, as he gets rid of Rob Van Dam and Booker T, after they argue with each other. Final four: #1 Benoit, #17 Angle, #25 Eddie and #30 Goldberg. Benoit, Angle and Eddie have been frenemies for years and fight together against Goldberg, who gets incredibly eliminated. Then Eddie asks Benoit to work together, it's a trap but Benoit knows Eddie well and eliminates him before Eddie could do it, so Guerrero smiles while he's on the floor and applauds Benoit for finally learning. Angle and Benoit go out for 7/8 minutes in the last sequence, I loved this Rumble but the only problem was that no one bought Big Show as a winner and so it spoiled the result. We can keep the same finish and Benoit, after a long match with Lesnar and a whole hour in the Rumble, manages to eliminate Angle and goes to WrestleMania

Post Royal Rumble 25.01.2004 - Raw - Quick note from Raw: on Raw January 26th, Chris Benoit closes the show interrupting an argument between Triple H and Shawn Michaels, saying that he is going to WrestleMania... but for the World Title, thus transferring from Smackdown to Raw
---
Post Royal Rumble 25.01.2004 - Smackdown - On Smackdown January 29th, Vince McMahon fires his daughter Stephanie from GM as she allowed Chris Benoit to go to Raw and he used a loophole, with her doing nothing about it. McMahon names Paul Heyman the new GM, but will keep an eye on him due to his high conflict of interests - Heyman quickly books a mini Royal Rumble in the same night, with 15 competitors and the winner challenging Brock Lesnar at No Way Out. Eddie Guerrero wins the Rumble by last eliminating Kurt Angle. John Cena and Big Show eliminate each other right before that. Eddie is on cloud fine for having a title shot after years of struggling. On Smackdown February 12th, Eddie & Cena defeat Lesnar & Show when Eddie rolls up Lesnar and holds the ropes for leverage, cheating to win as usual - McMahon is also pushing Heyman to determine his 'Mania contender as well, so Heyman books Cena vs. Angle vs. Show for No Way Out, the winner will get a title shot at 'Mania. Cena and Show are still feuding and not liking each other, while Angle has been acting heelish for a few months now (mad at Benoit for not picking him as a partner, defeated by both Benoit and Guerrero in both Rumbles) - Rey Mysterio starts a feud with Chavo Guerrero after siding with Eddie due to the Guerreros split, accusing Chavo of being spiteful and jealous. Chavo replies that Mysterio has a belt he doesn't deserve, as he's better than him. Mysterio has a title defence lined up against Jamie Noble and Chavo promises that he will keep an eye on the match - The Basham Brothers are still champions and defending the belt with success, but the Acolytes want a rematch with them. Heyman accepts, but only if the Acolytes will put their careers on the line. The challengers accept the offer - Paul London & Billy Kidman are now a stable tag team and they start a minifeud against WGTT. Benjamin beats Kidman on Smackdown January 29th, but then London upsets Haas on Smackdown February 5th - On Smackdown January 29th, Tajiri insults Ultimo Dragon and calls him a shame for Japan for losing to Rey Mysterio, but Dragon kicks him in the head starting a feud - Rhyno and Rikishi will also wrestle, after Rikishi eliminated Rhyno at the Rumble and Rhyno didn't take it too well
WWE No Way Out 15.02.2004
Daly City, CA
1. Tajiri (w/ Akio) def. Ultimo Dragon (12 mins) Dragon is on his way out soon and so I wanted to this match before he leaves, as they are two Japanese legends and it would be cool to have them wrestle on PPV. Akio again seems impressive and interferes as much as he can. Dragon gets rid of him, but Tajiri surprises him with the buzzsaw kick and wins
2. Rhyno def. Rikishi (7 mins) This doesn't need to go for long or have a long and complicated feud behind it, a little beef can start it and can be a perfectly fine undercard match in the mono-brand PPV area. Again, Rikishi is due to leave soon and he can pass some heat to Rhyno here, taking the gore for the pinfall
3. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio (c) def. Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) (13 mins) They had a really good chemistry and I enjoyed their feud. Noble was always underrated in WWE and could be both spectacular and really crisp in the ring, so he's a perfect match for an underdog like Mysterio. Chavo is at ringside and he watches Mysterio retain after the 619 and the west coast pop
4. World's Greatest Tag Team def. Billy Kidman & Paul London (w/ Torrie Wilson) (14 mins) This can be a good addition to the card, as WGTT was still at its peak and London/Kidman got a lot of chemistry right away in 2004. Maybe a notch below the 2003 matches with Mysterio in and London out, but still good quality. Benjamin pins London after the superkick and WGTT are back in the title hunt
5. Chavo Guerrero def. Scotty 2 Hotty (5 min) A semi-squash if you will, a match signed just to give Chavo a good win and to enhance the angle between him and Rey Mysterio. Chavo dominates Scotty and pins him with the frog splash, then tries to hit him more but Mysterio arrives to make the save and Chavo runs away scared
6. WWE Tag Titles vs. Career: The Basham Brothers (c) (w/ Shaniqua) def. The Acolytes (10 mins) This feud wasn't great of anything, but the Acolytes have been around for quite a bit and they could have given the Bashams some credibility by losing it. It seems like a nostalgia run is coming, Shaniqua is finally beaten down by a double powerbomb, but Danny pins Farooq with a roll up and the Bashams retain
7. #1 Contender Match: Kurt Angle def. John Cena and The Big Show (13 mins) I really liked this match and I am keeping it on my version of the show. Angle is the chosen one to have the shot, but Cena is getting more established as a star and Show is still relevant here. Show and Cena are quite disruptive, as their feud hurt their chance to win the match. Cena wants to hit the FU on Show, but his leg is too managed and Angle uses the ankle lock on him, making Cena tap out
8. WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero def. Brock Lesnar (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) (27 mins) As above, I am keeping this and of course I wouldn't delete a great match and one of the most emotional title changes in WWE history. The setup was great and the match itself was really well done. I don't even have Goldberg coming in and partially spoiling it, Eddie counters the F5 to a DDT on the WWE Title and then hits Lesnar with a frog splash for the historic victory. I would have half of the locker room coming in the ring to celebrate Eddie and make this a big deal

Post Royal Rumble - Raw - As mentioned above, on Raw January 26th Chris Benoit decides to challenge for the World Title, thus getting transferred to Raw. Triple H and Shawn Michaels, in the middle of a grudge feud, are not happy about this. On Raw February 9th, HHH vs. Michaels for the title ends in a double DQ and the following week Steve Austin books the triple threat for 'Mania XX. Michaels and Benoit are on the same side against Evolution, but don't get along at all. On Raw March 8th, Benoit & Michaels beat Batista & Ric Flair in a non title match and then clear the ring from Evolution, but then Michaels superkick Benoit from behind - On January 26th, Goldberg is furious about only losing one match in a year and not main eventing 'Mania, so he attacks everyone he can put his hands on turning heel, including Steve Austin, so he's suspended for 2 weeks. Upton his return, on Raw February 9th he gets interrupted by The Rock, who wants him in the ring again after Backlash 2003. On Raw February 16th, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman jointly announce that there will be an inter-promotional match with Rock & a Smackdown wrestlers vs. Goldberg & a Smackdown wrestler. More on this below. Steve Austin, who returns on Raw Match 1st after the spear by Goldberg, will be the special referee0 - On Raw February 2nd, Randy Orton calls Mick Foley out for costing him the Royal Rumble and Foley is happy to finally having Orton's attention, challenging him to a match for the IC Title to teach him a lesson. Foley is happy to interrupt his retirement just to beat Orton down - On Raw February 9th, Kane is freaking out in the ring about the recurrent Undertaker signs and the old Taker, in the shadows, appear on the titantron to challenge Kane to meet his destiny. Bischoff wants the match to give some more pointers to Raw, but Kane seems quite scared and can't believe that Taker is back - On Raw February 2nd, Christian apologizes to Trish Stratus for putting his hands on her, pointing out it's the first time in 4 years. Trish believes him, but then Christian puts her in the walls of jericho until Chris Jericho makes the save. Christian seems paranoid about Jericho and Trish having a love story behind their back, but Jericho kisses Trish in the ring for the first time and wants to get revenge on Christian for how he treated both Trish and their friendship - The Dudley Boyz are still chasing the Tag Titles, even though Batista & Ric Flair seem a bit distracted by Evolution's business. On Raw February 16th, Dudleyz put Flair over a table with the 3D and Bischoff books a tables match with the belts on the line for 'Mania - On Raw January 26th, Booker T and Rob Van Dam cut a promo to deny any problems between them after the Rumble incident. However, the following week Orton & Batista beat Booker and RVD when Booker walks out on Van Dam and turns heel, as he's too tired to depend on other people and will only mind his business from now on - Stevie Richards gets challenged by Matt Hardy, who is using a lot of weapons lately along with Lita trying to beat extreme. On Raw February 23rd, Hardy defeats Tommy Dreamer and seems to be ready for the big challenge
---
Post No Way Out - Smackdown - On Smackdown February 26th, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle sign the contract for the title match at 'Mania. Angle, after a couple of months as a tweener against Eddie and Benoit, goes full heel for this and accuses Eddie of being the scum of the country, a former addict that is trying to hide his abuses, while he's a role model and a true hero. Eddie loses his cool and viciously attacks Angle. On Smackdown March 4th, Rey Mysterio & Eddie beat Angle & Chavo Guerrero when Mysterio pins Chavo, but on the floor Eddie and Angle fight until Angle uses the WWE Title to knock Eddie out - On Smackdown February 19th, Paul Heyman announces his client Brock Lesnar as Goldberg's partner for the inter-promotional match, saying that they will absolutely smash Rock like they have done before. Heyman also wants to choose Spike Dudley as Rock's partner, but Vince McMahon appears on Smackdown February 26th and doesn't accept this conflict of interests, saying that he will hand pick Rock's partner at Smackdown and he will do it at 'Mania - On Smackdown March 4th, after weeks of tormenting Kane, Undertaker's shadow appears on the titantron announcing that he will be back at 'Mania and that Kane will rest in piece - After months of feuding, John Cena wants a title shot at Big Show and accuses him of undermining the US Title, as he rarely defends it. Show accepts the match, but on Smackdown March 4th, Heyman books a gauntlet match. Cena goes over A-Train and Rhyno, but then he's exhausted and Show easily beats him with the chokeslam - As mentioned above, Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero are feuding and Rey Rey is not happy about Chavo turning on Eddie and going against his raza. Chavo keeps getting a lot of good wins since fighting in the cruiserweight division. On Smackdown February 26th, Chavo defeats Billy Kidman and Heyman gives him a title shot at 'Mania - The rest of the Cruiserweight division is still vibrant. On Smackdown March 4th, a six men between Ultimo Dragon, Billy Kidman and Paul London vs. Akio, Jamie Noble and Tajiri ends in a no contest after everyone dives on each other and the match is thrown out. Heyman books a rematch for 'Mania and, to ensure a finish, decides that the winner -will have a title shot - Speaking of firings, The Acolytes are no longer a tag team after No Way Out. On Smackdown February 19th, they come out to say goodbye to the crowd but Bradshaw turns on Faarooq and accuses him of holding him down as a lowlife beer drinker, while he's such a brilliant business man and so better than this. Heyman books a career match at 'Mania between the two - Thanks to their No Way Out win, WGTT gets a title shot against Basham Brothers. On Smackdown February 26th, WGTT beat The Bashams in a non title match and the commentator point out that, due to Shaniqua's departures, now the champions are in danger and might lose the belts at 'Mania
WWE WrestleMania XX 14.03.2004 New York City, NY
A. WWE World Tag Titles: The Basham Brothers (c) def. World's Greatest Tag Team (6 mins) WGTT would play the babyfaces here of course, thanks to the Bashams being so much more dislikeable. It's a preshow with 4 matches so they don't really have much time, it's basically a Smackdown calibre match. WGTT is in control, but the Bashams switch and Doug rolls Haas up for the win. Haas and Benjamin argue postmatch
B. WWE Hardcore Title: Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) def. Stevie Richards (c) (w/ Victoria) (7 mins) I think that having a fourth belt is good because of the limited material of the mono-brand PPVs, but sometimes it's quite hard to keep it interesting. Here Lita doesn't hesitate to fight the scary Victoria, while in the ring Hardy hits a twist of fate upon two opened chairs and pins Richards to win the title
C. Career Match: JBL def. Faarooq (5 mins) This is JBL's debut as John Bradshaw Layfield, of course, giving him WrestleMania (well, the preshow) as his first platform. They have done well as a team and it's time for JBL to get a push (not nearly as much as he did though), while Faarooq retires. JBL is merciless and hits the clothesline from hell to win
D. Booker T def. Rob Van Dam (8 mins) Having this on the preshow is quite disappointing, considering that they had a good career in my WWE version, compared to the the real one, but I struggled to find a hot angle for them. RVD wants revenge on Booker and he dominates the match, but Booker finds a dirty roll up and steals the victory here
1. WWE US Title: John Cena def. The Big Show (c) (10 mins) Not the typical opener, especially by the 2000s standards, but this actually worked for me as it was short and the crowd was really into this, so I am keeping it there. Show is still protected and Cena needs to use his chain to get him up and use the FU on the giant, winning the title by pinfall for a good 'Mania moment
2. WWE Tag Titles Tables Match: Batista & Ric Flair (c) def. The Dudley Boyz (8 mins) The Dudleyz are about to leave Raw and can afford a loss, spicing it up with a stipulation due to the lack of them on this event. Flair & Batista were an okay unit and it helped Batista with his ring timing a lot, so why not. Batista wins the match here, saving Flair and putting Bubba through a table with a spinbuster
3. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Chavo Guerrero def. Rey Mysterio (c) (12 mins) They go way back and would do well here, as they actually did well at No Way Out 2004, I am a fan of spotfests at times but that Cruiserweight Open was way too much for my liking. Here they can have a solid contest and Chavo uses one of his uncle's tricks, hitting Rey with the belt to pin him for the title switch
4. Christian def. Chris Jericho (w/ Trish Stratus) (15 mins) I absolutely loved this match, because it made Jericho a huge babyface, Trish a huge heel and it pushed Christian like never before. The background of the feud was a bit different in my version, but the ending is the same: Trish turns on Jericho and Christian wins with a roll up, making up with Trish after the match
5. The Undertaker def. Kane (5 mins)
This wasn't much of a match, it was an average one at best, but WWE needed the Deadman back here and the presentation for his comeback was really good. No Paul Bearer, as he's not needed here. Taker comes back and squashes Kane, as it was shocked and has an excuse, pinning him after the tombstone
6. Billy Kidman, Paul London & Ultimo Dragon (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Tajiri, Akio & Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia) (7 mins) Here's my spotfest, but I am doing it while still keeping a good title match on the side. Also, it's placed on the card to make the fans breathe after a few emotional matches. The action is quick and the babyfaces win with Kidman's shooting star press on Tajiri, after London's spinning kick on the japanese
7. WWE IC Title: Randy Orton (c) (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Mick Foley (12 mins) I did like Evolution vs. Rock & Sock, but all titles are defended in my WrestleManias and so I had to go with this one. Foley is rusty and the commentators acknowledge that, also because he's playing by the rules to get the belt off Orton. Orton struggles anyway, but hits the RKO out of nowhere and retains
8. The Rock & Edge def. Goldberg & Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman). Special Referee: Steve Austin (13 mins)
Now, both Lesnar and Goldberg would have been booed out of the building with go home heat here, so I need both to be heels and preferably in the same match. Not as opponents though, but against a super babyface like Rock, who can count on the returning (and only wrestler available) Edge. Rock pins Goldberg with the rock bottom and postmatch Austin also stuns Goldberg as revenge for the spear he received on Raw
9. WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero (c) def. Kurt Angle (20 mins) This was a really good match and I'm keeping it, also keeping the feud of a turncoat Angle picturing himself as the american hero against the bad role model Eddie, who is actually a great inspirational story and so Angle is jealous of him. The finish of the loose boot into the roll up was also genius and so that stays the same, so Eddie retains the title like that
10. WWE World Title: Chris Benoit def. Triple H (c) and Shawn Michaels (25 mins) This was a wonderful main event and possible the best of WrestleMania history. I thought of many variations, including a four way with RVD, but it worked so amazingly that I wouldn't change a single thing. Trips and Michaels are almost downplaying Benoit, but then have to work together to try to stop him. Same finish, as Benoit locks in the crippler crossface and HHH taps out in the middle of the ring. Yes, of course also the Benoit and Eddie hug happens before the PPV goes off the air

Post WrestleMania XX - draft - Raw gets: Shelton Benjamin, Nidia, Rhyno, Tajiri, Edge, Paul Heyman (voided as in reality he resigned and straight comes back to Smackdown, so no point), A-Train and Chuck Palumbo - Smackdown gets: Rene Dupree, Mark Jindrak, Teddy Long, Spike Dudley, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, The Dudley Boyz, Rico and Jackie Gayda
Post WrestleMania XX - Raw - Vince McMahon praises Eric Bischoff for his co-GM role and demotes Steve Austin, who stuns Vince and leaves the job - Chris Benoit is on cloud nine for being the World Title. Both Triple H and Shawn Michaels want a rematch, as HHH has a rematch while HBK didn't lose at 'Mania XX, so Bischoff is cheeky enough to book the triple threat one more time as it was really successful - Randy Orton praises himself for beating Mick Foley, but on April 29th he gets assaulted by Cactus Jack, who's sure that Orton can't beat his most sadistic side in a No Holds Barred match - On Raw April 22nd, William Regal returns and Evolution mocks him for taking his ball and going home last time. Ric Flair dares Regal to find a partner, saying that him and Batista will definitely beat any duo - Chris Jericho is really heartbroken for Christian and Trish Stratus's behaviour and gets revenge on him. Bischoff books a cage match between the two - Edge is on Raw and wants a shot at the title, but Bischoff is annoyed by his behaviour and books him against the furious Kane - Matt Hardy launches a Hardcore open challenge and Rhyno accepts it, hitting him with a gore from behind - Both new signings, Tajiri and Shelton Benjamin, argue about wanting to impress Bischoff and so he books a match between them
WWE Backlash 18.04.2004 Edmonton, Canada
1. Shelton Benjamin def. Tajiri (11 mins) Tajiri can finally operate outside of the cruiserweight division, while Benjamin is not a tag wrestler anymore. These two hidden gems can deliver here and put a good match together to give the PPV a nice start and themselves a nice little run on Raw. Benjamin wins with the t-bone suplex and then they shake hands
2. WWE Hardcore Title: Rhyno def. Matt Hardy (c) (w/ Lita) (8 mins) This is another shake up caused by the draft, as Rhyno is so much more ideal as the champion of this division and more suited for this role anyway. Hardy bumps around for him, while Rhyno is really focused and hits a spear to win the match and the title
3. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. Steven Richards & Maven (w/ Victoria) (6 mins) Maven and Richards are almost obligated to side together, which they don't appreciate, but they don't show any real chemistry and they keep trying to do anything themselves. It's an undercard match with not a lot of heat, Conway pins Maven with au revoir
4. Steel Cage Match: Chris Jericho def. Christian (w/ Trish Stratus) (14 mins) This happened on Raw and I liked it enough to redo it here and give it a biggest spotlight on PPV. It's Jericho's scorned revenge against the two evil rivalries, but also Christian gets injured so he gets written out of TV when Jericho slams him from the top of the cage to a table, winning the match by escaping
5. Kane def. Edge (8 mins) Kane has quite a big of heat on him after the unmasking and the Taker feud, even though he loss at 'Mania, so I want to crack on and get a good title match out of him. Edge has come back hot, but here Kane hits him with a chair and this helps him winning with a chokeslam while the referee is distracted
6. WWE IC Title No Holds Barred Match: Randy Orton (c) (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Cactus Jack (18 mins) This match made Orton, more than anything else that anyone else has ever done for him, and needs to stay on the card. Cactus did all he did to put over his opponent and I am of course keeping the infamous thumbtacks spots. Orton retains with the RKO, winning the match and the fans' respect
7. WWE Tag Titles: Batista & Ric Flair (c) def. William Regal & Val Venis (10 mins) Regal goes back to his old partner Val Venis to get the tag titles, as the duo would also play a good babyface role due to Venis being Canadian. The match can be solid, but again Flair's in ring ability is put over and so is Batista's dominance, after he pins Venis with the batista bomb
8. WWE World Title: Chris Benoit (c) def. Shawn Michaels and Triple H (27 mins) It was an incredible main event, even better because it happened in Benoit's hometown, so it needs to be here and get all the time it needs to get the fans invested. This time, Michaels is the one to submit to Benoit and HBK tapping out in Canada to the sharpshooter was still a big deal at the time

Post WWE WrestleMania XX - Smackdown - Eddie Guerrero is still the champion and Kurt Angle, who's injured, wants to Guerrero to lose the title in anyway. On April 1st, Angle interferes in a Eddie vs. Big Show title match. Eddie hits Show from behind and Show thinks it was Angle, so he chases him and chokeslams him off a balcony backstage. Angle is heavily injured, while Paul Heyman suspends Show for going too far - The two new Smackdown wrestlers, Rob Van Dam and Booker T, continue their feud on the blue brand after the 'Mania match. On Smackdown April 15th, Booker beats RVD and wins a title shot against Guerrero - After his new personality change, JBL is a loud mouth and quickly gets under everyone's skin, including Undertaker, who confronts him on Smackdown April 1st. JBL keeps avoiding him, but then Taker corners him and forces him to face him at the PPV - John Cena, the new US champion, is confronted by his ex manager Dawn Marie, who now represents Rene Dupree, newly drafted to Smackdown. Mark Jindrak is also hungry for opportunities - Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio quickly start tagging after RVD's draft to the blue brand. On Smackdown April 15th, RVD & Mysterio beat The Dudley Boyz to win a title shot against the Basham Brothers - Speaking of The Dudleyz, they turn heel on Smackdown March 18th, unhappy to be on the blue show because full of cocky youngster like London and Kidman. On Smackdown April 22nd, Bubba defeats Kidman to enhance the feud - Spike Dudley, after trying to convince their brothers in vain to leave the cruiserweights alone, can concentrate on the division himself and a match against Akio is booked - Chavo Guerrero is still cruiserweight champion and, although he loses a champion vs. champion match against his uncle Eddie on Smackdown March 25th, he is at the top of his division and accepts Jamie Noble's challenge - Charlie Haas, left alone on the show after Shelton Benjamin's draft to Raw, becomes a tweener when he starts dating Jackie Gayda. Hardcore Holly dares Haas to fight him
WWE Judgment Day 16.05.2004 Los Angeles, CA
1. WWE Tag Titles: Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio def. The Basham Brothers (c) (13 mins) I'm not particularly pro a "super tag team" to beat a regular team, but this is not the best time for tag wrestling and this duo seemed to work so why not. Bashams have been champs for over 6 months, but their opponents are just on a roll and the combo 619/frog splash makes RVD pin Danny for the title change
2. Spike Dudley def. Akio (6 mins) Classic mono-brand PPV undercard match, even though Spike is determined to show his brothers that the cruiserweight division is well and alive. Akio was slowly improving and getting over, but here I need Spike to win and so, after suffering a lot, he pins Akio following the dudley dog
3. Charlie Haas (w/ Jackie Gayda) def. Hardcore Holly (7 mins) If you have followed me, you know that Holly hasn't had many PPV single match in his 10 years long WWE career so... this say a lot about 2004. Haas is slowly turning face and they have a short, but hopefully solid match. Haas wins with a bridge german suplex, for a soft 3 count, and then they shake hands
4. Billy Kidman & Paul London (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. The Dudley Boyz (15 mins) This feud was not bad and it should get both team to the top of the tag division right away, even thanks to the lack of real competition. The Dudleyz are mean and good at being bullies, London sells a lot for most of the match, but Kidman gets a hot tag and pins Bubba with a lucky and audacious roll up
5. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Chavo Guerrero (c) def. Jamie Noble (12 mins) Chavo vs. Noble can be a solid match, with Noble playing the babyface after a long heel career, thanks to the heat that Guerrero has accumulated in the last 6 months. Beating Noble can give Chavo some good legitimacy, as he's got a tough opponent and goes over with a low blow and then a frog splash
6. WWE US Title: John Cena (c) def. Mark Jindrak and Rene Dupree (w/ Dawn Marie) (14 mins) Cena needs good opponents to have a meaningful reign and I don't have anyone better at this point, even though they are both hateable heels that can get some good heat with their good looks. It's almost a handicap match, Cena is smart and pins Dupree with an FU before Jindrak can makes the save
7. JBL def. The Undertaker by DQ (13 mins)
I'm not getting JBL to the WWE Title, because quite simply he's not good enough, but the good character deserves a push in this troubled 2004. JBL can throw punches and be stiff as hell, but he's on Taker's level. However, Taker hits JBL with a chair that the heel tried to use and gets disqualified for this.
8. WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero (c) def. Booker T (17 mins) I enjoyed their 2004 title match on Smackdown, with Booker dominating and Eddie so resilient with his kickouts at the last second. Booker looks down to Eddie, who was just a "junior" in their WCW stint together, so this is a good chance for Eddie to beat the odds. Guerrero finds the frog splash and retains the title after blocking the scissor kick

Post Judgment Day - Smackdown - Just a quick note from the blue brad, on Smackdown June 10th The Dudley Boyz win the World Tag Titles beating Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio
---
Post Backlash - Raw - On Raw May 3rd, Kane wins a battle royal to get a title shot at Chris Benoit's World Title. Kane downplays Benoit for his size, but Benoit's heart is big and he shows Kane that he is for real. On Raw May 31st, Benoit beats Flair but postmatch Kane attacks him with a chokeslam on the concrete, giving him a rib injury - Triple H and Shawn Michaels both still want a title shot, but their feud is going too long and too deep, so Eric Bischoff books a Hell in a Cell for the PPV. On June 7th, the two close the show with a back and forth promo into the structure - Along with Chris Benoit, Edge & Chris Jericho are all allied against Evolution. On Raw May 17th, Benoit, Edge and Jericho beat Flair, Batista & Orton in the main event, but then Edge and Jericho argue. Jericho thinks that Edge wants success without working for it, while Edge thinks that Y2J is an egomaniac - Christian will be out for a few months following the injury caused by Jericho and Trish Stratus seems unsure about her future - Thanks to his good streak since his Raw debut, Shelton Benjamin gets a title shot at Randy Orton's IC Title. Orton, especially after beating Cactus Jack, is looking down to everybody else and seems to be assuming the role of a leader - William Regal is still willing to get the Tag Titles off Batista and Ric Flair. After trying with his old partners Val Venis and Stevie Richards, he picks Tajiri as his companion. On Raw May 10th, Batista beats Tajiri but Regal is impressed by the Japanese's performance - Rhyno proclaims himself the leader of the hardcore division, after winning the title, thanks to his ECW roots. A-Train, his old Smackdown foe, gets a title shot - Hurricane and Rosey are now officially a comedy unit. They are mocked by La Resistance, but Rosey defeats Sylvain Grenier on Raw May 31st - Lita and Victoria have an argument backstage, much due to Victoria's craziness, and this starts a program between Stevie Richards and Matt Hardy
WWE Bad Blood 13.06.2004
Columbus, OH
1. WWE Tag Titles: William Regal & Tajiri def. Batista & Ric Flair (c) (12 mins) Regal and Tajiri were a fun and capable team for 2004's standards, so I am bringing them in earlier. They can play the underdogs here, mainly Tajiri getting isolated in the corner. Regal and Flair can have a technically sound finish, with Regal getting the upset with a small package for the surprising title change
2. Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) def. Stevie Richards (w/ Victoria) (6 mins) This is an undercard feud just to fill the PPV and keep Hardy busy until his next program. Getting the women involved can help the two creating some heat in ECW style to spice things up. Hardy blocks the stevie kick and goes over with the twist of fate
3. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. Super Heroes In Training (5 mins) Again, SHIT was a fun concept but, as the division is not exactly at its peak, they get a PPV match here along with La Resistance, who's getting more annoying with their flags to replace Rene Dupree's heat. Rosey is still learning and messes up, so he's beaten by Conway after au revoir
4. WWE IC Title: Randy Orton (c) (w/ Stacy Keibler) draws Shelton Benjamin for double countout (15 mins) Orton is on a roll and almost ready to get to the main event scene, while Benjamin is also doing really well since transferring to Raw. They never crossed path after 2004, but they had a good match in this PPV and I am keeping it on the card. Benjamin hits the t-bone suplex on the floor, but he can't reach the ring and it's a draw for double countout
5. WWE Hardcore Title: Rhyno (c) def. A-Train (8 mins) After a non finish, a little rough hardcore match can be what needed to please the crowd again. I'm keeping it short, but the two big men are hard hitters and would surely use some items in the right way. A-Train tries to finish Rhyno with the bicycle kick, but Rhyno hits a gore out of nowhere and wins
6. Edge def. Chris Jericho (13 mins) The two Canadians never really crossed path in their WWE career so far, but now are frenemies. They shake hands, but the match gets too aggressive for what could have been a clean and respectful fight. Jericho seems in control, but Edge rolls him up and pins him by using the ropes for leverage. Y2J, unaware of it, shakes Edge's hand and Edge smirks
7. WWE World Title: Chris Benoit (c) def. Kane (15 mins) This match from the original PPV was not bad and I'm keeping it because Kane still had quite some heat on him and Benoit can use it, as beating the monster can be impressive for him. Kane dominates, also because Benoit is injured, but Benoit counters the chokeslam into the crossface and, after around 30 seconds, Kane taps out for the first time ever and so Benoit retains
8. #1 Contender Hell In A Cell Match: Triple H def. Shawn Michaels (22 mins) This was the actual PPV main event and it sucked, because they went for like 50 minutes, like at Armageddon 2002. This pairing never disappoints when they only go for 20/25 minutes and stipulations are on their side, so let it be this way to have a better main event. The feud is intense and the match gets bloody, Michaels knows HHH too well and stops the sledgehammer, but then a low blow and the pedigree on an opened chair gives HHH the victory

Post Judgment Day - Smackdown - After beating Undertaker, JBL sets his sight on the WWE Title, also because GM Paul Heyman is a big fan of him. On Smackdown June 3rd, JBL beats Eddie Guerrero by DQ (their actual Judgment Day match) when Eddie bleeds too much. Heyman makes a bullrope match for Great American Bash, pitching the proud and enraged Eddie against the bully JBL, who insults the champion for his Mexican roots - Speaking of Undertaker, the Deadman is furious about losing to JBL at Judgment Day and wants revenge. Booker T is involved in a tag match with JBL against Guerrero and Taker on Smackdown May 27th and so JBL asks Booker to help him get rid of Taker, also offering him a large sum of money - John Cena is still keeping the US Title, even though Rene Dupree and Mark Jindrak are pretty much allied against him. Jindrak is pitched as the next contender after a good win against Hardcore Holly on Smackdown June 3rd - Speaking of Dupree, he starts a feud with Charlie Haas after the continuous arguments between Jackie Gayda and Dawn Marie - Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio are a bit upset after losing the World Tag Titles so early and they also lose a rematch to The Dudley Boyz on Smackdown June 3rd. Heyman is quite enjoying to see their arguments and so books them against one another at the PPV - Mysterio is also involved in the battle of the Dudleyz against the cruiserweight division, with Bubba and D-Von unhappy of the fact that Spike Dudley wins a Battle Royal on Smackdown May 27th to get a title shot at Chavo Guerrero - Billy Kidman and Paul London, impatient to show the Dudleyz that their division is alive and getting a title shot after their victory at JD, challenge Jamie Noble and Akio for the PPV - Speaking of The Dudleyz, their next defence will be against the former champions Basham Brothers at Great American Bash
WWE The Great American Bash 27.06.2004
Norfolk, VI
1. Billy Kidman & Paul London (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Akio & Jamie Noble (13 mins) This would hopefully be a fresh and interesting opener, keeping the cruiserweight division relevant, apart from the usual title match, and giving some more exposure to the Kidman/London team. London gets the pinfall after the 450 splash on Noble, while Kidman dives on Akio
2. Rene Dupree (w/ Dawn Marie) def. Charlie Haas (w/ Miss Jackie) (7 mins) Dupree is on his way to to get another shot at Cena and so he can get another victory here to get some heat. Apart from the girls fighting at ringside, Mark Jindrak also interferes and helps Dupree win with the dupree bomb. Postmatch, Hardcore Holly saves Haas after the respect they acquired for each other
3. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Spike Dudley def. Chavo Guerrero (c) (10 mins) Spike is an underdog here, as predicted, with Chavo being not only the champion but also dominant physically over the challenger. The Dudleyz arrive at ringside and insult Spike, but Mysterio, London and Kidman kick them away. In the ring, Spike rolls up Chavo and barely pins him for the title change
4. Rob Van Dam def. Rey Mysterio (15 mins) There is no heat here, apart from some little misunderstanding between the two, but we can just appreciate what is actually a dream match that can be a highlight of this PPV. Smackdown needs this match more than them as team. RVD wins with the frog splash and then they shake hands, remaining friends
5. WWE Tag Titles: The Dudley Boyz (c) def. The Basham Brothers (8 mins) I am not expecting a great match from this, especially because heel vs. heel matches never work really well, but it would be an average forgettable bout and not to be surrounded by so much bad stuff like the actual PPV. Dudleyz retain after the 3D on Doug
6. WWE US Title: John Cena (c) def. Mark Jindrak (12 mins) Jindrak doesn't have much left, so no singles push for him, but I think he would have done alright here. Him and Cena can have a good match, dramatized by the fact that Rene Dupree and Dawn Marie arrive ringside to help Jindrak. Despite this, Cena still retains the title with the F-U
7. The Undertaker def. Booker T (13 mins) This feud sees Booker involved as JBL's hitman against Taker, in a way to get a longer feud from them. Not much chemistry between the two really and a tricky match, because they are both coming from another loss at Judgment Day. Taker wins with the tombstone
8. WWE Title Bullrope Match: Eddie Guerrero (c) def. JBL (18 mins) I am not having JBL as WWE champion because it's a terrible idea, but this match was really good and so I'm keeping it on the card. This is a classic but effective face vs. heel match and it gets bloody again between them. Eddie shows all of his heart and touches the 4 corners to retain the title

Post Bad Blood - Raw - Triple H, fresh of a victory against Shawn Michaels, is finally having his 1 on 1 rematch against Chris Benoit at Vengeance. Eric Bischoff, upon HHH's request, makes it an Iron Man Match. On Raw June 28th, in a big main event Benoit, Edge, Jericho and Benjamin defeat Evolution when Benoit submits Batista - Shawn Michaels takes some time off due to injuries after the HIAC against Triple H - Edge and Chris Jericho, while still arguing between each other, seem loyal to Benoit and support his war against Evolution. On Raw June 21st, Flair beats Jericho after Edge botches a chairshot and Y2J is furious, while Edge swears his innocence. Bischoff happily books Edge & Jericho vs. Batista & Flair - Shelton Benjamin is getting a IC Title rematch against Randy Orton after the draw, but Orton is not happy as he claims that he's ready for bigger things. The match is a 2/3 falls to avoid more shenanigans and Orton also tells Evolution not to interfere - After failing to capture the World Title, Kane freaks out more than usual and creeps on Lita backstage when she avoids him. Matt Hardy jumps up to help his girlfriend, not afraid of Kane's size - The unusual but good tag champions, William Regal and Tajiri, are doing really well. The next lined up opponents are La Resistance and the champions, although not American themselves, want the challengers to show some respect to USA - On Raw June 14th, Rosey beats Rodney Mack in a Hardcore Match and Hurricane congratulates his lackey. Rhyno, who's always proclaiming himself as the hardcore king, takes exception and challenges them both. Rosey accepts - Speaking of hardcore, Maven beats Tommy Dreamer on Raw June 21st on Dreamer's "retirement match" and Dreamer hands him a singapore cane as a gift. Stevie Richards vows to get that trophy
---
WWE Vengeance 11.07.2004
Hartford, CT
1. WWE World Tag Titles: William Regal & Tajiri (c) def. La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) (10 mins) The anti-American angles are quite old fashioned by 2004, but La Resistance drew decent heat and the champions are good in the ring, so this would hopefully be decent, even though a notch below my usual openers. Feud must continue, so Tajiri rolls up Conway for the victory, but the challengers are not happy
2. Singapore Cane Match: Maven def. Stevie Richards (w/ Victoria) (6 mins) It's Maven's first match after Tommy Dreamer goes, so a year of pupil in the making is starting to slowly evolve. Richards has more experience and more used to hardcore rules, but Maven is quite inspired and used the cane well, crushing him on the head to get the victory
3. Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) def. Kane by DQ (7 mins) This would not bring to Kane and Lita getting marries, because please, but it's an okay feud to get Hardy "injured" and it gives Kane something to do after losing 2 feuds. Hardy does all he can and he's too resilient, more than Kane imagined, so Kane uses a chair to beat Hardy down and gets disqualified
4. WWE IC Title 2/3 Falls Match: Shelton Benjamin def. Randy Orton (c) (w/ Stacy Keibler) (18 mins) They could repeat their good Bad Blood match. Orton wins the first fall with an RKO, but loses the second by countout again, unlike Bad Blood it's Benjamin that slides in at the 9 count. Benjamin hits a t-bone from the top rope and they both pin each other, but the referee awards the victory to Benjamin in a smart way to protect Orton while losing the belt anyway
5. WWE Hardcore Title: Rhyno (c) def. Rosey (w/ Hurricane) (5 mins) They don't much time, so they go all out which is a good thing due to Rosey not certainly being the most suited for a singles match on PPV. They just use a lot of weapons. Rhyno tries to gore Hurricane through a table and Rosey saves him, but doing this he gets hit himself and so Rhyno pins him
6. Ric Flair & Batista def. Edge & Chris Jericho (11 mins) Nice tag match to get the crowd ready for the main event. Evolution in an united front, while Edge and Jericho argue all the time. They do well here and it's a competitive match, but all of a sudden Trish Stratus appears with a giant unknown man, who attacks Jericho. Edge is by himself and Batista powerbombs him to win
7. WWE World Title Iron Man Match: Chris Benoit (c) def. Triple H (60 mins) This is their Raw iron man match from summer of 2004, way better than the actual Vengeance match with all that silly Eugene drama. It's 2 ring generals and surely they can do really well here, in a stipulation I haven't used in a while. HHH uses a chair for the DQ, but then pins Benoit twice in a few minutes thanks to the damage. Benoit comes back and it's 2-2, there are 2 minutes left and HHH avoids the crossface well, which has been his speciality for the whole match, but then falls victim to a roll up and Benoit retains

Post Vengeance - Raw - On Raw July 12th, Randy Orton wins a battle royal to get a World Title shot for Summer Slam. Orton is quite arrogant and proclaims that he will be the youngest champ ever, so Triple H wants to teach him a lesson and decides that, just like Orton decided at Vengeance, nobody from Evolution will help him at Summer Slam. Benoit thinks that Orton has talent, but he's too big headed and it's HHH's fault. However, on Raw August 9th Orton & HHH beat Benoit & Edge when Orton pins Benoit with a roll up. Both Benoit and HHH are shocked - Speaking of HHH, he steps out of the World Title picture for now to help Evolution against the Canadian clique. Benoit makes peace between Edge and Chris Jericho, especially because Summer Slam will be from Toronto and they need to be united. Eric Bischoff books Edge & Jericho vs. HHH & Batista in a Toronto Street Fight - HHH also wants the IC Title back in Evolution, blaming Orton for losing it and not caring, so he asks Ric Flair to go for it. On Raw July 19th, Flair beats Tajiri and Shelton Benjamin accepts his challenge. On Raw August 9th, Benjamin is taken down by the Naitch's low blow - After the Vengeance non finish, Kane still wants a piece of Matt Hardy, who's quite injured after Kane's assault. Bischoff has no mercy and books a No DQ Match between the two, with Hardy promising Lita that he will fight for her honour
Post Great American Bash - Smackdown- On Smackdown July 1st, a mysterious masked man attacks Eddie Guerrero. The attack continues for another two weeks, until Eddie unmasks him and finds out it was Kurt Angle. Angle is clear to wrestle and wants revenge for Eddie setting Big Show on him and stealing the victory at 'Mania. On July 22nd, Angle wins a controversial battle royal and gets a title shot for Summer Slam. Eddie can't wait to face Angle again, but seems a bit worried as on Smackdown August 12th, Angle comes back to the ring in a great form and beats his former ally Charlie Haas - Speaking of the battle royal, Angle wins it after JBL and Booker T, both eliminated, interfere to throw Undertaker and Rob Van Dam out. Heyman still decides that JBL will have a title shot as well. Vince McMahon asks Paul Heyman for an explanation, Paul Heyman downplays it but drops an envelope with a lot of money (from JBL), so Vince fires Heyman on the spot. On Smackdown July 29th, the new GM Teddy Long books Taker vs. JBL vs. Booker vs. RVD for a title shot and promises he won't be bribed by anybody. On Smackdown August 5th, RVD & Taker beat JBL & Booker by DQ after a lot of shenenigans - The feud versus John Cena and Rene Durpee is not over. Dupree pins Cena on Smackdown July 15th in a non title match, in such a dirty way that Cena attacks him and the whole locker room empties to separate them. Heyman books Cena vs. Dupree in a lumberjack match - On Smackdown July 22nd, Billy Kidman & Paul London beat The Dudleyz by DQ so they won't win the titles. The match was going their way, but Spike Dudley interferes for the DQ. Postmatch, Spike apologises but then sides with his brothers attacking the babyfaces until Rey Mysterio makes the save. Spike accuses Mysterio and the others of making the crusierweight divison a spot monkey deal, agreeing with his brothers and saying he will bring toughness back to the division
WWE Summer Slam 15.08.2004 Toronto, Canada
1. The Dudley Boyz & Spike Dudley def. Rey Mysterio, Paul London & Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson) (8 mins) This was the actual opener and I didn't mind it, it was a fresh, fast paced and good little matchup to evolve both storylines and keep their heat. The babyfaces are of course the highlight of the match with their dives, but at the end The Dudleyz cheat and Spike easily pins London to win the match
2. No Disqualification Match: Kane def. Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) (6 mins) This was another cute and unoffensive match from the actual card, Hardy is going away with an injury and we know what Lita is up to, so what better plot than Hardy sacrificing to save his beloved woman? I liked the chokeslam from the top rope as a finish, done on a table here to injury Hardy and let Kane get the win
3. WWE US Title Lumberjack Match: John Cena (c) def. Rene Dupree (w/ Dawn Marie) (9 mins) Cena and Dupree had a decent chemistry, so they can have a decent blowoff here, rather than a really cold Cena/Booker. The lumberjacks make the match more alive, but also Jindrak helps Dupree and ends up being attacks by Holly and Haas. In the middle of the chaos, Cena manages to hit Dupree with the FU to retain
4. WWE IC Title: Shelton Benjamin (c) def. Ric Flair (10 mins) This is Flair's first single title shot since his 2001 comeback, at least on PPV, and he would have made sure to put on a good fight against Benjamin, who was really at his peak at the time. Flair cheats to keep the champion on the ground, but he wastes too much time and Benjamin counters the figure four into a winning inside cradle
5. #1 Contender Match: Rob Van Dam def. The Undertaker, JBL and Booker T (13 mins) This is basically a tag match at start, but it then degenerates as Booker refuses to get pinned by JBL and RVD and Taker are not allied by any means. It can get chaotic and keeps Taker's feuds with JBL and Booker alive. At the end, JBL clothesline Booker by mistake and RVD gets the win with the five star frog splash
6. Toronto Street Fight: Chris Jericho & Edge def. Triple H & Batista (15 mins) The Canadian have been feuding with Evolution for months now, so it's a time for a good street fight on PPV. Edge and Jericho try to get along, HHH is in a fresh match while Batista can experience a featured bout. At the end, Edge hits Batista with the spear and pins him, then Edge and Jericho finally shake hands and the crowd is really happy
7. WWE Title: Eddie Guerrero (c) def. Kurt Angle (14 mins) I liked their Summer Slam rematch, but it was noticeably not on the same level of the 'Mania match and it's quite easy to understand why. The story is that Angle is now a determined machine and ready to do anything to win, while Eddie's tricks don't seem to work. However, while Angle has the ankle lock on, the Big Show's music hits and Angle gets distracted. Eddie tries the loose boot tactic again, Angle catches him, but Eddie kicks him low and uses a dirty roll up to retain again
8. WWE World Title: Randy Orton (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Chris Benoit (c) (20 mins) The main event was really outstanding and easily Orton's best non-hardcore match ever. Why am I going with this? I need to push somebody, Jericho is leaving next year, it's too early for Edge while it's now 2022 and Orton is still there... long term investment. Evolution confirms in an interview that they won't interfere and Orton sends Stacy away as well, it's a clean match with no issues and shockingly Orton wins with an RKO from nowhere, shaking Benoit's hand after the match

Due to time constraints and the need of quicker posts, I will now scrap the "preview" part of each post and mention details straight in the match description. Shouldn't change much, hopefully
WWE Unforgiven 12.09.2004
Portland, OR
1. WWE World Tag Titles Flag Match: La Resistance (w/ Gail Kim) def. William Regal & Tajiri (c) (w/ Christy Hemme) (12 mins) The feud continues and now the champions are also managed by the newcomer Christy Hemme, who is there to counteract Gail Kim's interferences. A flag match is booked, with the flags being suspended above the turnbuckle, first time ever I'm using this stipulation. As usual, la Resistance cheat with the help of Gail and Conway grabs the flag for the title change
2. Singapore Cane vs. Singapore Cane: Stevie Richards (w/ Victoria) def. Maven (6 mins) Maven keeps growing with his toughness angle and the singapore cane left by Tommy Dreamer, but now Richards has one himself and they attack each other on Raw to set up this match. Just another stipulation to make this poor undercard a bit better. Maven hesitates to finish Richards with the stick and so Richards hits him with the stevie kick to win
3. Kane def. Simon Dean (2 mins) Dean debuts with his annoying fitness guru gimmick and mocks every fan and wrestler he can. In his promo, he sets up an open challenge match and Kane responds. Much like his fun Batista match from Smackdown, Dean offers Kane some products, but Kane destroys him and wins with the chokeslam. Kane turns babyface because of this 4. Last Man Standing Match: Chris Jericho def. Christian (w/ Trish Stratus and Tyson Tomko) (15 mins) Christian returns on Raw, along with Trish and his new bodyguard Tyson Tomko, to get revenge on Jericho. Jericho, still feuding with Evolution, now has too much on his plate and want to end this once and for all. A last man standing is booked and, despite all the interferences, Jericho finishes Christian with a powerbomb from the top of a ladder and makes Christian unconscious for the 10 count
5. WWE IC Title: Shelton Benjamin (c) def. Batista (12 mins) After beating Randy Orton and Ric Flair, Evolution still wants the IC Title back but sends Batista to get the job done this time, as the others are pretty busy. Batista has been quite protected and dominant so far, while Benjamin is getting good exposure with his title reign. Batista does really well here, but makes a silly mistake and Benjamin goes over with a roll up
6. WWE Hardcore Title: Rhyno (c) def. The Hurricane (w/ Rosey) (8 mins) After beating Rosey at Vengeance, Rhyno also challenges Hurricane, who seems a bit intimidated by his opponent. Rhyno has been a force in the hardcore division, but the fans are behind Hurricane and convince him to try his luck here. It's the typical underdog story and Hurricane does his best, but the gore beats him
7. Triple H & Ric Flair def. Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho (sub. for Edge) (14 mins) HBK comes back and his feud with Evolution is not over, so he joins Benoit, Edge and Jericho in the war. This tag match is booked, however on the go home Raw Edge seems to be injured and leaves HBK alone (he was actually injured, but in storyline he's faking). Michaels seems alone, but Jericho steps up to help him here. However, as Y2J is already too damaged tonight, he gets pinned by HHH after the pedigree
8. WWE World Title No Holds Barred Match: Randy Orton (c) (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. Chris Benoit (18 mins) After Summer Slam, Evolution doesn't break up as they're still fighting a harsh war, but HHH seems jealous of Orton (not kicking him out doesn't make him look like an idiot) and again tells him to deal it without help as he seems so sure of himself. They had a great No Holds Barred on Smackdown in 2006 and this is hopefully gonna be as good, with Orton again finding a clean way to beat Benoit with the RKO
Other notes - Post Summer Slam, Matt Hardy takes time off because of injuries and Lita takes time off too
