AWA Championship Wrestling Monday, Week 1, September 1992
🎙️ Announcers - Rod Trongard, Eric Bischoff and Mr. T 🏟️ Attendance - 4,364 📺 Rating - 0.68 ✍️ Show Grade - C (62) 🎖️ CHAMPIONS 🎖️ AWA World Heavyweight Title: Larry Zbyszko AWA International Television Title: Diamond Dallas Page AWA World Tag Team Titles: Lanny The Clever and Chris Candido
SEGMENT - Lanny The Clever challenges the Dynamite Kid for next week, telling him that he's been studying his promo class and updating his curriculum: "I beat him once, it seems I opened a new door in Dynamite Kid's mind. He's renewed himself. Let's see, let's see him. I'll give it one more chance"
🎖️ AWA World Tag Team Championship | Lanny The Clever and Chris Candido (c) defeated The Pitbulls (Pitbull #1 and Pitbull #2) in 6:45 Candido pinned Pitbull #2 with Diving Headbutt. Lanny wasn't very good today and didn't play well. Lanny/Candido duo defended their titles for the first time. Pitbull #1's technical skills improved with this match. SEGMENT - Here's a new announcement from Frank Reed about the Crockett Cup tournament. He says that starting this year, the winner of the Crockett Cup will automatically qualify for the main event for the AWA World title match at the SuperClash show at the end of the year. Thus, the Crockett Cup becomes more important than ever. He also says that he apologized to all AWA wrestlers for having Red Hook automatically made a finalist for Ventura to tell the power behind the Rental Killers. But he says this is an important sacrifice that needs to be made "for a better AWA," and he asks for understanding. 🏆 Crockett Cup 1st Round | James Sandoval defeated Samu (w/Afa) in 7:42 Sandoval pinned Samu while using the ropes for leverage. Sandoval thus advances to the quarterfinals.
SEGMENT - Jackie Fargo and Owen Hart wait in the ring for the DDP they called last week. DDP doesn't come first. When Fargo says that they have an offer to agree on a compensation of $500.000, DDP appears at the entrance. He says they can give him $500,000 without waiting for the end of the case, but in return, DDP must play against Owen in the Crockett Cup 1992 and beat him. So a “Title vs. 500K” status occurs. DDP looks at the belt for a long time and on the other hand thinks about its new project. And he rejects the offer. THE NB SHOW WITH NICK BOCKWINKEL - This episode of The NB Show features Ricky Steamboat, who hasn't been back in the ring since Rage in a Cage. Steamboat says it's critical to learn about the power behind Rental Killers and is following developments closely. "If Ventura has important information about it, we should give him whatever he wants to find out about it. I agree with Frank Reed's decision. This sacrifice will improve the lives of many of us."
Six-Man Tag Team Match | Mr. Sandman, Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit defeated Unorthodox Cirice (Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Enos and Red Hook Machine) (w/Jesse Ventura) in 16:19 Sandman pinned Red Hook with White Russian Legsweep. After the match, King Kong Bundy entered the ring and attacked the face wrestlers. Other heel wrestlers joined him as he stood up, and the Unorthodox Cirice formation finished the show standing. With this match, Sandman's technical skills improved.

Unorthodox Cirice (Mike Enos and Red Hook Machine) (w/Jesse Ventura) defeated Dave Taylor and Perry Saturn in 5:38 Enos pinned Saturn with Double Underhook DDT. Red Hook seemed off his game tonight. Taylor and Saturn don't work well as a team. With this match, Red Hook's technical skills improved. THE NB SHOW WITH NICK BOCKWINKEL - Jesse Ventura joined this episode of The NB Show. Ventura described making Red Hook an automatic finalist as probably the only right thing Frank Reed has done in his AWA career. Ventura cuts the promo saying he is confident he will have a champion again by the end of the year. 🎖️ AWA International Television Championship | Diamond Dallas Page (w/Greg Valentine) (c) defeated Brian Christopher in 11:28 DDP pinned Christopher with The Diamond Cutter. Thus, DDP retained his title for the third time. Brian Pillman drew with King Kong Bundy (w/Jesse Ventura) in 7:38 via double count out During the match, AWA World champion Zbyszko, who was not invited, also joins the announcers. I'm really pushing for you to make The Pitbulls tag champs in some months (maybe a year, fine), as I loved them.

AWA Championship Wrestling Monday, Week 2, September 1992
🎙️ Announcers - Rod Trongard, Eric Bischoff and Mr. T 🏟️ Attendance - 3,814 📺 Rating - 0.67 ✍️ Show Grade - C (65) 🎖️ CHAMPIONS 🎖️ AWA World Heavyweight Title: Larry Zbyszko AWA International Television Title: Diamond Dallas Page AWA World Tag Team Titles: Lanny The Clever and Chris Candido
SEGMENT - Jesse Ventura says in the promo he cut at the opening of the show that the defeat of the Unorthodox Cirice team last week meant nothing. Because at the end of the night, his own men and formation remained standing. According to him, it will be no different tonight. Ventura's performance in this segment has been outstanding.
Simon Diamond defeated Rob Van Dam in 5:07 Diamond submitted RVD. SEGMENT - DDP comes to the ring to make "candid statements". He tells Owen that the case he has filed in the past months has not gone well and that if the process continues like this, it will be very bad for him. He says that he has pinned all his hopes for financial resources for his new film project and is ready to sacrifice that too if the only thing standing in his way is the AWA International Television belt he holds. Because his only project was MORE IMPORTANT than a big wrestling company. Therefore, he accepts Owen's challenge for Crockett Cup 1992.🏆 Crockett Cup 1st Round - Greg Valentine defeated Leif Cassidy (w/Bart Sawyer) in 5:39 Valentine pinned Cassidy with Piledriver.King Kong Bundy (w/Jesse Ventura) defeated Mr. Sandman in 6:51 by stoppage when Mr. Sandman was injured and could not continue During the match, Sandman is beaten by Bundy for a long time after he injured his leg. Bundy splashes his opponent's leg several times after the match, injuring him thoroughly. Sandman's condition is not looking good at all.SEGMENT - After a long break, Butch Reed gives an interview. Shockingly, we learn that Sandoval left the Black Panthers Rising without telling him anything. Butch reproaches him, saying he knows Sandoval is meeting with people he doesn't know. He says that he is very sorry to lose his young friend, with whom he fought against racism all this time, and that he no longer fully understands what is right and what is wrong. "Maybe the people we hurt and accused of racism were innocent. I don't know. I think I realized that I needed to look at life from a different perspective when James let me down." Butch Reed thus makes a face turn.Dynamite Kid (w/Dave Taylor and Jeannie Clark) defeated Lanny The Clever (w/Chris Candido) in 13:40 Dynamite Kid pinned Lanny with Cradle Piledriver. Although Lanny had the upper hand in certain parts of the match, Dynamite Kid took the lead towards the end of the match. By winning the match, he defeated both Tag Team champions.SEGMENT - At the close of the show, AWA champion Larry Zbyszko is ambushed in the locker room by Brian Pillman. Pillman beats himself with a metal stick. However, the champion starts to respond at some point and the two fight each other. After a while, they lock themselves in the dressing room. Because of this, staff cannot enter the locker room. We can't see the outcome of the fight because the show is running out of time.

So I'm betting Mr. Sandman will be out of the rest of the tournament and Valentine will get a bye. The World Championship picture is on fire. I hope Pillman gets the belt, tho.

I'm really pushing for you to make The Pitbulls tag champs in some months (maybe a year, fine), as I loved them. I want it too. I want them to be in 1993. I just want to improve them skills a little more. I had The Pitbulls on my roster in ECW 1994 save I played. They were pretty darn good, especially Pitbull #1. I had them feud with The Road Warriors when I signed them to ECW. The Assisted Super Bomb kicks ass!
