Team Challenge Series Live-Scoreboard
Steamboat’s Dragons: 6 pts – 10 pts: Lawler’s Royalists
(PRE-SHOW) The Hart Battalion (Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart) defeated Simon Diamond and Chris Candido in 6:49
The young talents Diamond and Candido have improved. Diamond was injured in this match. Owen got some heat backstage after the bout as it was felt that his mistake caused Diamond's hurt. (68)
SEGMENT - After reminiscing about last week's events with a short video, the Unorthodox Cirice team opens the show in the ring. Jesse Ventura openly announces that they have taken over Lawler's Royalists: I've been watching Jerry for weeks. I supported him. I gave him all my men. The team was already leading. Yes, yes, I was aware of all this, but, you know, something was wrong. It was Jerry Lawler himself who was wrong! Why did they have to listen to his orders when all the men on the team were my men? Even if we accept this as understandable up to a point, there came a point when he tried to give me orders. Everyone saw last week when he unnecessarily challenged Shawn Michaels, putting his personal ambitions above the interests of the team. When I asked him why he did this, he told me not to get involved. Yes, to me! TO JESSE VENTURA! My son, I am the real deal! From now on, things will proceed as they should. Now the name of the “Royalists” team is “Unorthodox Cirice”! And you, Ricky the Dragon, never, ever get excited, don't wring your hands. Look at the scoreboard and continue brooding. Because nothing will change after this minute! (By the way, the draw for tonight's match has been made: Benoit vs. Bundy) (82)
Jeff Jarrett defeated Tatanka (w/Wahoo McDaniel) in 6:31 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock
It is a showdown match after everything that has been going on for weeks. While the match is proceeding normally, Michael Hayes, whom we know from WCW, shockingly comes to the ring! The former International TV champion faces Jarrett for the first time since their fight last year. While everyone is waiting for them to attack each other, Hayes nails Tatanka! That's how Jarrett wins the match! It seems like things have gotten better between the two. (Match: 63 / Post-match: 59)
PIPER'S PIT WITH RODDY PIPER - Piper's guests are Black Panthers Rising. The segment is getting tremendous ratings. Sandoval criticizes last week's hastily arranged AWA title match: Everybody saw what happened last week. Looking people in the eye, I, James Sandoval, that is, Black Panthers Rising, was almost defeated. Luckily it didn't happen. There was a contender match for the AWA championship and I won this match. So if there is to be a championship match, it should be with me. Where did Jerry Lawler come from? Or was he given favoritism because he was white? This useless board better explain something! When I become the AWA champion this Sunday, I will end these injustices that have been going on for years! (92)
Team Challenge Series | King Kong Bundy defeated Chris Benoit in 6:47 by pinfall with an Avalanche
At the beginning of the match, Benoit is attacked by Unorthodox Cirice members as he comes to the ring from the entrance. However, soon Steamboat's team comes to the rescue and a small fight breaks out. The referee consequently bans everyone from ringside. Benoit cannot show much presence during the match because Bundy's size does not allow it. The point gap widens even more with this match. (68)
SEGMENT - We see a large police cortege at the entrance of the arena. Big Bossman made this for Ted DiBiase. This time, DiBiase did not come with his limousine to avoid another attack from Eddie. They came with this cortege upon Bossman's suggestion. (62)
THE NB SHOW WITH NICK BOCKWINKEL - The guests of this episode are Skandor Akbar and The Great Muta. Bockwinkel wants to ask careful questions because he is also a US citizen, but Akbar is just spewing hatred for the country. He targets Perry Saturn: You don't know what you're getting into, young boy. Don't you realize that your soul is about to leave your body in the middle of an international crisis? So be aware! It will be your turn too. This Sunday, The Great Muta, after completing unfinished business with that American cutie (Stan Lane). (69)
Brian Pillman defeated Ted DiBiase (w/Big Bossman) in 10:21 by count out
While the match continues normally, we suddenly see the limousine in the garage on the big screen. Eddie attacks the limousine at DiBiase's mansion! He knocks out all his windows and shatters the hood! When DiBiase sees this, he can't believe what happened and leaves the match and runs backstage with Bossman. Meanwhile, the rating of the match dropped because the chemistry of Pillman and DiBiase did not match at all. (66)
SEGMENT - Owen Hart angrily calls Arn Anderson, who made him lose a match last week, to the ring. Anderson comes laughing without waiting too long. The two confront each other. Owen says he's fed up with him and wants to end it all this Sunday. He challenges him to a six-man tag match, which fits the concept of the night. When Owen says "bring those bastards with you", the two suddenly come face to face. Davey Boy comes running and takes Owen away. (86)
SEGMENT - Gene Okerlund interviews “American Sweet” Stan Lane and young talent Perry Saturn backstage. In the presence of millions, Lane thanks Saturn for the past week. He points out how helpful and patriotic Americans are and says he will get his revenge from The Great Muta this Sunday! He was going to make the USA pay for the rudeness done to them. (68)
Non Title | Shawn Michaels defeated Bob Backlund in 13:19 via DQ
We are watching an average non-title match. Shawn and Backlund's chemistry just doesn't match. Still, the match is watchable. At the end of the match, Mick Foley comes out with his socks. He grabs this sock and claws Shawn! Backlund is shocked! The referee makes an immediate disqualification decision. When Foley doesn't stop moving, Backlund gets angry and pushes him and takes the sock from his hand. The two come face to face. Foley breaks down in tears and leaves the ring. (74)
