Elimination Chamber 2013
Date: 17/2/13
Location: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Chris Jericho (c) vs Wade Barrett vs Kofi Kingston vs Damien Sandow vs Kane vs The Big Show
(An incensed Wade Barrett invokes his rematch clause on the SmackDown after the Royal Rumble. He says he wasn’t prepared for Chris Jericho’s return, and says that when he issued his open challenge, he specifically mentioned an active member of the WWE roster, not a washed up rockstar. Jericho interrupts and says Barrett should be thanking Y2J for making his career the most relevant it’s ever been in the last two years, because without Chris Jericho, there is no Wade Barrett. Booker T then interrupts and announces both men will settle their issues inside the Elimination Chamber. Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow, Kane and The Big Show all win qualifying matches to get in this match.)
Santino Marella vs The Miz
Intercontinental Championship:
Zack Ryder (c) vs Dolph Ziggler w/Big E Langston & AJ Lee
(The two iron men of the Royal Rumble square off. After Dolph eliminated him from the Rumble itself, Zack Ryder challenges Ziggler to this match. The Show Off eagerly accepts.)
Six-Man Tag Team Match:
John Cena, Sheamus & Ryback vs The Shield
(Same match as it was in real life.)
Elimination Chamber Match to determine the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Randy Orton vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez vs Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan vs Antonio Cesaro
(Not much story here. Booker T announces a second Elimination Chamber match for this event, with the winner going on to face the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 29.)
Women’s Championship:
Kaitlyn (c) vs Tamina Snuka
WWE Championship - If The Shield interferes, CM Punk must forfeit the WWE Championship:
CM Punk (c) w/Paul Heyman vs The Rock
(After the Royal Rumble, The Rock says that if it wasn't for The Shield, he would be WWE Champion once again. Vince McMahon makes a rematch, with the added stipulation. CM Punk says he doesn't need The Shield to beat The Rock, and that he doesn't need anyone else’s help because he's the Best in the World. However, Paul Heyman interferes long enough to low blow The Rock and allow CM Punk to hit a GTS for the win.)

(Other entrants included: The Big Show, Jack Swagger, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Justin Gabriel, Brodus Clay, Tensai, Alex Riley, Titus O'Neil, Darren Young, Hunico, Camacho, Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Sin Cara, David Otunga and Curt Hawkins,)
Main Show:
Seven Man Ladder Match for the United States Championship:
Antonio Cesaro (c) vs Rey Mysterio vs The Miz vs Kofi Kingston vs Cody Rhodes vs Santino Marella vs Damien Sandow
(Not much story here. All seven men want to be United States Champion, so Booker T makes this match. Rey Mysterio doesn’t get injured before this match is made official either,)
R-Truth vs Fandango
(Fandango makes his official WWE debut in late February. However, Fandango never actually wrestles because the ring announcer won't say his name correctly. This leads to R-Truth interrupting Fandango and intentionally mispronouncing Fandango's name, beginning a feud between the two. Both men get elaborate entrances before this match.)
Intercontinental Championship:
Zack Ryder (c) vs Wade Barrett
(After failing to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber, Wade Barrett viciously attacks Zack Ryder backstage on an episode of SmackDown. Barrett says that Ryder is a clown who is soiling the lineage of the Intercontinental Championship, and that he will be the one to restore it to it’s former prestige. He challenges Ryder to a match. Long Island Iced Z accepts and says he’s already beaten Barrett at WrestleMania, and lightning will strike twice. Ryder puts up a spirited fight, but Barrett is too aggressive and ends Ryder’s 203 day reign with the title.)
Six-Man Tag Team Match:
Triple H, Randy Orton & Sheamus vs The Shield
(Triple H returns on the Raw after Elimination Chamber. He says he’s had to watch from the sidelines while The Shield began running roughshod over his company and he won’t stand for it anymore. The Shield call The Game a relic of the past just trying to hang on to his past glories and challenge him to a six man tag team match at WrestleMania, provided he can find partners. Sheamus and Randy Orton agree to join Triple H in teaching the three rookies some respect.)
Kane vs Dolph Ziggler w/AJ Lee & Big E Langston
(When brief tensions begin rising in Team Hell No, Kane is attacked by Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston in the aftermath of a tag team match on Raw. In the build, Ziggler challenges Kane to a match at WrestleMania, believing that The Big Red Machine has gone soft and that he doesn’t scare anyone in the WWE anymore. Kane accepts and warns Ziggler to be careful what he wishes for, because he might just send The Show Off to hell.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Chris Jericho (c) vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez
(After Elimination Chamber, Chris Jericho talks about how he's been to the very top of the mountain in WWE more times than Alberto Del Rio ever will and it wasn't destiny, it was hard work that put him there. Del Rio says that Y2J rode the shoulders of giants into glory, and that he will make him regret coming back to the WWE. Despite interference from Ricardo Rodriguez, Y2J ultimately prevails with a Codebreaker. Del Rio challenges Jericho to a rematch the next night on Raw and beats Y2J for the gold. However, his reign is short lived, as Dolph Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank to THAT insane real life pop to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.)
The Undertaker vs Daniel Bryan
(After The Shield attack Team Hell No on the Raw after Elimination Chamber, The Undertaker makes a surprise return to help Kane and Daniel Bryan fight off the trio. A six man tag team match is made for the 25/2/13 episode of Raw, with The Shield prevailing after miscommunication between Taker and Bryan. In the build, Bryan blames The Undertaker for their loss, saying that they would of won had Taker not wanted all the glory for himself. Taker calls Bryan a weak link who can’t get the job done on his own. An enraged Bryan responds by challenging The Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania, which Taker accepts. Kane tries to get Bryan to back out of the match, but Bryan stubbornly refuses and says he’ll prove to The Deadman that he isn’t a weak link. Bryan comes agonisingly close to ending the Streak, but Taker prevails to go 21-0. After the match, Taker gives Bryan an appreciative nod in his direction, indicating that Bryan has won the Phenom’s respect.)
The Rock vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman
(After Elimination Chamber, The Rock blames Paul Heyman for costing him the WWE Championship. Heyman says The Rock simply isn't better than CM Punk and never will be, prompting The Great One to level Heyman with a Rock Bottom. The next week, The Rock shows up campaigning for another WWE Championship match, but is met by Brock Lesnar instead, who assaults Rocky and drops him with an F-5. Heyman challenges The Rock to a match and The Rock quickly accepts. The Beast promises to finish what he started in 2002 and run The Rock back to Hollywood for good.)
WWE Championship:
CM Punk (c) w/Paul Heyman vs John Cena
(CM Punk finally gets to main event WrestleMania! In the build up, Punk says he’s beaten John Cena more times than he count because he’s The Best in the World and that for the last three years, Cena has had to try and prove to the whole world that he could beat him, but could never get the job done. Cena admits that Punk is shattering records, but he’ll be more than happy to break the one that Punk carries and that it’ll end with the same man where it began and on the grandest stage of them all. Paul Heyman calls this match a match that's too big for WrestleMania, the epic fifth confrontation in the series of matches between John Cena and CM Punk, the final battle between the two greatest warriors in WWE, and a match where both men have everything to lose. This match is their February 2013 contest from Raw, with Punk pulling out a piledriver for a near fall, but Cena ultimately wins with an AA and ends Punk’s historic 630 day reign, becoming WWE Champion for the tenth time in his career. The next night on Raw, Punk takes a brief hiatus.)

Falls Count Anywhere Match for the United States Championship:
Kofi Kingston (c) vs Dean Ambrose
(Ambrose becomes the first member of The Shield to win WWE gold.)
Strap Match:
Sheamus vs The Big Show
(The Big Show attacks Sheamus on the Raw after WrestleMania, knocking him out with a WMD. In the build, Big Show says it's people like Sheamus who think they are the best thing to ever happen to wrestling that piss him off. Sheamus says that Big Show is an oversized man-child who can’t handle more talented performers stealing his spotlight.)
No Disqualification Match:
Randy Orton vs Mark Henry
(After failing to become WWE Champion, Mark Henry attacks Randy Orton on an episode of Raw. The World’s Strongest Man repeatedly attacks Orton in the following weeks, until The Viper finally has enough and snaps, beating down Henry with a steel chair. Vickie Guerrero (installed as the new Raw GM after WrestleMania) announces that both men will air their grievances in a No DQ match at Extreme Rules. Henry says he will reopen the Hall of Pain and make Orton it’s new inductee. The Viper says Henry will pay for all the sneak attacks.)
Tornado Tag Team Match for the WWE World Tag Team Championship:

Triple Threat Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Dolph Ziggler (c) w/AJ Lee & Big E Langston vs Chris Jericho vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez
(After Dolph Ziggler's cash in, both Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio invoke their rematch clauses. Booker T decrees that both men will get their rematches, in a triple threat match, inside a steel cage. Jericho vows to regain the World Championship, Del Rio simply wants revenge on Ziggler for cashing in on him, and The Show Off wants to prove he’s better than both men. Ziggler DOES NOT suffer a concussion before this event either.)
Extreme Rules Match for the WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Ryback
(After CM Punk goes on a sabbatical, John Cena is left with no one to face for the WWE Championship. He issues an open challenge that is answered by Mark Henry. Just as Cena is about to defeat Henry, The World’s Strongest Man grabs a steel chair and prepares to clobber Cena. Ryback runs out to make the save... only to pick up the chair and decimate Cena with it and declare himself the number one contender, turning heel in the process. Cena says he trusted Ryback, but was obviously wrong to do so and challenges Ryback to this match. The Big Guy accepts and promises to step on anyone’s neck to become the WWE Champion.)

Payback 2013
Date: 16/6/13
Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois
Intercontinental Championship:
Wade Barrett (c) vs Kofi Kingston
(After dismissing Zack Ryder and chalking up several successful title defences. Wade Barrett demands fresh competition. Kofi Kingston steps up and wins a small battle royal on an episode of Raw to earn this opportunity. Kingston says he’ll climb that mountain again and become a three time Intercontinental Champion. Barrett says Kofi has made the biggest mistake of his life and that he will suffer the consequences.)
Sheamus vs Damien Sandow
Women’s Championship:
Kaitlyn (c) vs AJ Lee w/Big E Langston (by Submission)
(For weeks on Raw, Kaitlyn gets notes from a “secret admirer.” She tries to find out who it is, but to no avail. Finally, the admirer says he’ll reveal himself. It turns out to be Big E Langston, but it was just a trick by AJ Lee to get Kaitlyn vulnerable. AJ digs into moments from their friendship to hurt Kaitlyn and says she’ll take the Women’s Championship from her best friend, and Kaitlyn promises to punish AJ for her betrayal. AJ uses a distraction from Big E to trap Kaitlyn in the Black Widow and win the Women’s Championship.)
United States Championship:
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Kane
(After Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton are given the chance to become the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Kane asks Raw GM Vickie Guerrero for a United States Championship match against Dean Ambrose. Vickie tells The Big Red Machine that he has to earn it, so she makes a number one contender’s match between Kane and The Miz, which Kane wins to earn this match. Ambrose low blows The Big Red Machine and rolls him up with his feet on the ropes to retain the U.S. title. Kane then parts with Daniel Bryan the next night on Raw, ending Team Hell No.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Dolph Ziggler (c) w/AJ Lee & Big E. Langston vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez
(Alberto Del Rio defeats Chris Jericho on an episode of SmackDown to become the number one contender. In the build, Del Rio says people like Dolph Ziggler should be carrying his bags and shining his shoes instead of parading around with a title that is rightfully his. Ziggler, in the midst of a slow babyface turn, says that for years he’s been put down by everyone in WWE, including people like Del Rio, and now that he’s on top, he isn’t letting go of the World Heavyweight Championship.)
WWE World Tag Team Championship:
The Shield (c) vs Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton
(Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton are made an unlikely pairing when they are both attacked by The Shield and want revenge. The Shield sows dissension between their team that is heightened when Orton calls Bryan the weak link of Team Hell No after beating him in a singles match. Despite these tensions, Orton and Bryan come close to winning, but The Shield retain after Bryan accidentally hits The Viper with a running knee.)
CM Punk w/Paul Heyman vs Chris Jericho
(On a segment of The Highlight Reel with Paul Heyman, Chris Jericho asks how CM Punk can claim to be the best in the world and not even be on the show. Heyman says that Punk needed a break to revaluate things after his record breaking championship run. Y2J says a true champion doesn’t take time off when he gets his ass kicked, and challenges Punk, through Heyman, to a match in his hometown of Chicago. Heyman accepts on behalf of Punk. Y2J basically builds the match himself, talking about how Punk is a hypocrite for claiming to be the hardest working guy in WWE, then taking a vacation after he loses. Punk doesn’t show up till the event itself, turning face in the build up.)
Ambulance Match for the WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Ryback
(After losing to John Cena at Extreme Rules, Ryback goes on a rampage, mauling the likes of Sin Cara, Santino Marella, Justin Gabriel and Ted DiBiase (putting DiBiase through a table as a way to write him off TV.) in a series of squash matches. During a match with Rey Mysterio, he is about to put Mysterio through a table when Cena comes out to stop him. The Big Guy challenges Cena to a rematch and demands it be a first ever Ambulance Match so that he can rip Cena apart and send him straight to the hospital. Cena accepts and says he won’t stand for Ryback bullying anyone in the WWE anymore.)

Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Heavyweight Championship Contract:
Wade Barrett vs Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow vs Fandango w/Summer Rae vs Dean Ambrose vs Antonio Cesaro vs Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter
(Not much story here. Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro team up for most of the match, led by the words of Zeb Colter who has recently returned to manage Swagger following the latter’s return at WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes looks set to win until Damien Sandow screws Cody over by pushing him off the ladder and climbing up to retrieve the briefcase.)
WWE World Tag Team Championship:
The Shield (c) vs The Usos
(The Usos win a tag team battle royal on Raw to become the number one contenders. They promise to be the first team to knock The Shield off their pedestal, while The Shield say The Usos will be just another pair of victims in their rule over the WWE.)
Women’s Championship - Big E Langston banned from ringside:
AJ Lee (c) vs Kaitlyn (by Submission)
(Kaitlyn invokes her rematch clause after Payback. In the build, Kaitlyn swears that her mind is now clear and she will make AJ Lee pay for how she’s treated her in the last month. AJ calls Kaitlyn weak and that she never considered her a friend at all. To ensure a fair contest, Vickie Guerrero has Big E Langston banned from ringside. AJ wins clean with the Black Widow.)
Chris Jericho vs Ryback
(Ryback continues his path of destruction after another loss to John Cena at Payback. Two weeks later on an episode of Raw, The Big Guy has a match with Zack Ryder that ends in a disqualification after Ryback decimates Ryder with a steel chair until Chris Jericho runs out and makes the save. Jericho challenges Ryback to a match for the chance to put "Cryback" in his place. Ryback accepts and vows to shut Jericho’s mouth for good. After the match, Ryback powerbombs Y2J through the announcer’s table, writing him off TV for another tour with Fozzy.)
Two-out of-Three Falls Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez (2-1)
(Alberto Del Rio earns this match when he beats Dolph Ziggler in a one-on-one match on SmackDown, thanks to botched interference from both Big E Langston and AJ Lee. After the match, Ziggler breaks up with AJ and tells Big E that he doesn’t need him anymore. Del Rio mocks Ziggler, saying he wouldn’t be champion if it wasn’t for his bodyguard and his crazy girlfriend. The Show Off says that he can beat ADR on any given day. After the match, Ziggler celebrates his win when AJ Lee appears at ringside to distract him. Big E then comes through the crowd and attacks Ziggler, levelling him with two Big Endings. AJ screams in Dolph’s face that he is nothing without her. AJ skips around the ring while Big E stands over the fallen Ziggler and holds up the World Heavyweight Championship.)
WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Mark Henry (by Submission)
(Mark Henry swerves everyone on an episode of Raw by pretending to retire, only to use it to trick John Cena and attack him, challenging him to a match for the WWE Championship. Cena calls Henry a manipulative coward. Henry says says he did what he had to do to get his opportunity, and Cena was gullible enough to believe him. The World’s Strongest Man taps out to the STF.)
Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract:
CM Punk vs Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus vs Christian vs Rob Van Dam vs The Miz
(Once again, not much story. The big stories going in are Rob Van Dam’s return, Daniel Bryan wanting to prove he isn’t a weak link, and CM Punk dumping Paul Heyman as his manager. Kane was originally scheduled to be in this match, but he is removed when he is attacked by The Wyatt Family on their debut night six days ago. CM Punk is about to win when Paul Heyman runs out to the ring, encouraging Punk to climb the ladder, Heyman then turns on Punk and hits him with a ladder when he is about to reach the briefcase. This allows Randy Orton to take advantage and climb the ladder to claim the briefcase. Sheamus suffers a torn labrum during this match, which puts him on the shelf for the remainder of the year.)

United States Championship:
Dean Ambrose (c) w/The Shield vs Rob Van Dam w/The Big Show & Mark Henry
(Two weeks after Money in the Bank, Rob Van Dam earns a shot at Dean Ambrose and the United States Championship. His match is ruined by Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, who join Ambrose in dropping RVD with a triple powerbomb. Van Dam then asks Vickie Guerrero for a rematch and he gets it. Mark Henry and The Big Show save Van Dam from a Shield beatdown a week before this event and reveal that they’ll be in Van Dam’s corner, which turns the monstrous duo face. The Shield promise to show Van Dam, Show and Henry what happens to those who defy them.)
Inferno Match:
Kane vs Bray Wyatt w/The Wyatt Family
(Following their debut a month ago, The Wyatt Family make Kane their first target. Bray Wyatt says that Kane is a lost soul, a demon in purgatory and he will save him. The Big Red Machine simply wants to demolish the new trio for taking his Money in the Bank chance away from him. Wyatt challenges Kane to an Inferno match, promising to purify Kane in the fire. After the match, The Wyatt Family does not carry Kane away.)
Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow
(Cody Rhodes turns face after Money in the Bank. In the build, Rhodes say he feels betrayed by a man he once called his best friend, all for the Money in the Bank briefcase. Damien Sandow says he was just using Cody to get what he wanted, and now he doesn’t need him.)
Christian vs The Miz
(Christian returns three weeks after Money in the Bank and defeats The Miz on his first night back on Raw. After the match, Miz attacks Captain Charisma and lays him out with a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz says he won’t be overlooked anymore and challenges Christian to a match. Christian accepts and says he still hasn't forgotten when Miz beat him for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw 1000, so he’ll kick Miz’s ass regardless.)
Fatal-Four Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship:
Wade Barrett (c) vs Kofi Kingston vs Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez vs Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter & Antonio Cesaro
(Despite losing to Wade Barrett at Payback, Kofi Kingston steps up his pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship. Kofi challenges Barrett to a rematch, but is interrupted by Alberto Del Rio, who claims that Kofi had his chance and that he blew it. Jack Swagger then interrupts and says he’s never been Intercontinental Champion and he’ll run through everybody to take the title. Booker T makes a number one contender’s match between Miz, Kofi and Swagger on SmackDown, but it ends in a no contest after Barrett attacks all 3 men, making this a fatal four way match. Kingston hits Barrett with Trouble in Paradise, but Del Rio blindsides Kingston with a Step Up Enziguiri to become the new IC Champion. Barrett is removed from TV shortly afterwards due to real life work visa issues.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Big E Langston w/AJ Lee
(Following Money in the Bank, AJ Lee begins to manipulate Big E Langston, telling him that Dolph Ziggler has been using him for months. Ziggler, now a full fledged babyface, tries to tell Big E that AJ is lying, and that he genuinely thought of them as friends. Big E doesn’t listen, clouded by AJ’s words and thoughts of being the World Heavyweight Champion. The Show Off wins with a lucky roll up. Big E brutally attacks Ziggler and drops him with a Big Ending after the match.)
World Heavyweight Championship - Money in the Bank Cash In:
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Damien Sandow
(Taking opportunity of the beating that Ziggler was just given at the hands of Big E, Damien Sandow seizes his moment and hits Dolph with Terminus to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.)
No Holds Barred Match:
CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman
(After CM Punk berates Paul Heyman for costing him the Money in the Bank Ladder match, he is attacked by Brock Lesnar. Punk says that he isn’t scared of a mercenary like Lesnar. In the build, Punk is the obvious underdog; getting beat up by The Beast at almost every turn. Finally, Punk uses his wits to outsmart Lesnar and disguises himself as a cameraman on an episode of Raw, attacking Lesnar with the camera and daring Heyman to make the match No Holds Barred. Heyman accepts on Brock’s behalf and says that The Beast will eviscerate Punk.)
WWE Championship - with Triple H as the Special Guest Referee:
John Cena (c) vs Daniel Bryan
(Vickie Guerrero gives John Cena the chance to choose his opponent for this show, and Cena selects Daniel Bryan. In the build, Bryan says that Cena is a parody of wrestling and unfit to lace his boots. Cena, who is nursing an elbow injury, says that he has won the WWE Championship more times than anyone for a reason, and that’s because he lives, breathes, and sweats wrestling more than anything in this world. Vince McMahon gets involved when he says that he hates the idea of Daniel Bryan as WWE Champion. He tries to appoint Brad Maddox as the referee, but Triple H drops Maddox with a Pedigree and overrules Vince, making himself the referee to ensure the match is fair. After the match, Cena shakes Bryan’s hand and raises it in a show of respect.)
WWE Championship - Money in the Bank Cash In with Triple H as the Special Guest Referee:
Daniel Bryan (c) vs Randy Orton
(After John Cena leaves, Randy Orton comes to the ring, teasing a cash in. Daniel Bryan prepares himself, but Orton begins to turn away. Triple H shocks the world by laying Bryan out with a Pedigree, allowing Orton to cash in and become a 5 time WWE Champion, which turns both The Viper and The Game heel and leads to the birth of The Authority)

I'm a bit surprised you gave the IC title to Ryback. Then again, I'm not in the position to judge seeing as I gave it to Del Rio around this time in my timeline.

I'm a bit surprised you gave the IC title to Ryback. Then again, I'm not in the position to judge seeing as I gave it to Del Rio around this time in my timeline. I’m no fan of either man, but I had no other option here. Ryback may be a bitter old has-been, but at least he’s not a POS like Del Rio is in real life. And Ryback will be transitional till Hell in a Cell.

Night of Champions 2013
Date: 15/9/13
Location: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan
Intercontinental Championship:
Alberto Del Rio (c) w/Ricardo Rodriguez vs Kofi Kingston (by Submission)
(On the Raw after SummerSlam, Alberto Del Rio gloats about his victory and that someone naturally talented and charismatic as him deserves to be Intercontinental Champion. Kofi Kingston interrupts and demands a match with Del Rio, but ADR declines and says Kofi has to earn it the hard way. In the build up, Kofi goads Del Rio into a non-title match, which Kofi wins thanks to an accidental distraction by Ricardo Rodriguez, and secures him a match for the IC title at Night of Champions. Kofi says Del Rio is an arrogant and self-righteous prick who doesn’t deserve to be nowhere near the Intercontinental Championship. Del Rio says the IC title belongs to him, and he won’t allow Kofi’s filthy hands to soil it.)
Fatal Four-Way Match for the Women’s Championship:
AJ Lee (c) vs Natalya vs Brie Bella vs Naomi
(Naomi wins a battle royal to become number one contender, Natalya gets in the match by beating Brie Bella on SmackDown, and Brie gets in this match after defeating Kaitlyn in a second chance match on Raw. AJ Lee says it doesn’t matter who she faces; she’s better than all three women.)
Rob Van Dam vs Curtis Axel
(Having debuted on the Raw in mid to late May, Curtis Axel begins flying under the radar. He starts a small winning streak, beating the likes of Sin Cara, Santino Marella, Justin Gabriel and Zack Ryder in the process. A cocky Axel then crosses paths with Rob Van Dam, branding him a relic from a bygone era who needs to step aside for the new guard. Axel challenges Van Dam to match and RVD accepts, saying he’ll knock Axel’s ego down a peg or two. This is the first time Axel loses a match in WWE.)
CM Punk vs Bray Wyatt w/The Wyatt Family
(After his loss to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, CM Punk goes on an angry tirade when he’s interrupted by The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt says Punk claims to be the voice of the voiceless, but he is just a cog in the machine, and Bray is here to bring down the machine. Punk says he won’t allow himself to be indoctrinated by a cult of weirdoes.)
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Damien Sandow (c) vs Cody Rhodes vs Big E Langston
(On the SmackDown after SummerSlam, Damien Sandow declares that the “Era of Enlightenment” has just begun and he won’t let anyone undeserving take the World Heavyweight Championship from him. Cody Rhodes interrupts and says he was the last person to beat Sandow before he cashed in, so he should be Sandow’s first opponent. Big E Langston, now flying solo after splitting from AJ Lee after SummerSlam, then comes out and says he allowed Sandow to cash in, so therefore he should be next in line. Vickie Guerrero, having replaced Booker T as general manager of SmackDown after Triple H takes over Raw, makes a triple threat match to determine a clear winner.)
United States Championship:
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Christian
(After his victory over The Miz at SummerSlam, Christian calls out The Shield, specifically Dean Ambrose, and challenges him to a match for the United States Championship. Ambrose accepts and warns Captain Charisma that he’ll make him regret coming back to WWE.)
WWE Tag Team Championship:
The Shield (c) vs The Big Show & Mark Henry
(On the Raw after SummerSlam, The Authority cancel Big Show’s iron clad contract. When Big Show tries to protest, he’s put into a handicap match with The Shield as punishment. The match ends in a no contest when The Shield attack Big Show until Mark Henry makes the save. The next week, defeat Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns in a tag team match to become the number one contenders. They say that no tag team, not even The Shield, can compete with them. Rollins and Reigns manage to isolate Big Show and weaken his knee, winning this match after Reigns hits a Spear on Big Show. Henry is only ever tagged in once.)
WWE Championship:
Randy Orton (c) vs Daniel Bryan (by Disqualification)
(After being screwed over by The Authority, Daniel Bryan is pissed. He says that Triple H didn’t just screw him, he screwed the fans as well. Bryan then invokes his rematch clause, saying that he knows he can beat Randy Orton because he’s done it before. Orton echoes Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s sentiments in saying that Bryan is a B Plus player who doesn’t belong in the WWE. The Shield interfere and beat down Bryan when he is about to make The Viper tap to the Yes! Lock. The show ends with Bryan being on the receiving end of a triple powerbomb and an RKO.)
