NEWSKian Simpson claims victory in the rain at the first ever Formula 2 Grand Prix in France, with Joen Forsberg and Arne Froese rounding out the podium. The 34-year-old from England may have proven they're a missed opportunity and that higher up teams should be looking to sign them as a more experienced driver. All the buzz however is around the 17-year-old Swedish driver Forsberg who finished right behind him. Could he be the future of F1?

NEWSMaple Motorsports will be competing in Formula One for the last time this season as the Canadian home of the team looks to shut its doors in preparation of a full move to Vermont. The team will reportedly be rebranded "All American Racing" as of 1953. American racing fans are reportedly overjoyed at the news announced following Antenor Bezerra's win at what was to become the teams home grand prix. Fans shocked by poor performance of Hagedorn-Rennen. The two time champions are left struggling after a string of reliability issues have constantly left the cars unable to complete races, with only Reiner Hagedorn having finished just one race (and winning) for all the points the team currently possess. Fans of the team are unimpressed, particularly as many believe the team to have the strongest driver line-up.

NEWS Isaac Shaw claims F2 win in Portugal ahead of French drivers Fabian Deniau and Bruno Vannier. Joen Forsberg still hold the lead despite not claiming points with Deniau moving into second place ahead of Nathaniel Crowe. So after realising that the tracks aren't randomised like they use to be, I've put in place track contracts for each of the 10 circuits I'm using, alongside ensuring there are 2 spare races for all track types (typically appearing for F2 races). Certain events such as major accidents (ones leading to driver deaths which I've made quite rare, but will happen) will lead to the complete removal of tracks following contract expiry, but otherwise most tracks will stay in rotation. All tracks were generated with lengths from 1-5 years (ending 1952-1956), but all of them got contracts to at least 1953. Below are the track types and associated GPs:
Normal: France, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Argentina City: Monaco, Italy, Chile Slow: Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Belgium Fast: USA, Brazil, New Zealand, Portugal Desert: Australia, South Africa, Morocco Forest: Germany, Sweden, Denmark

NEWSMatroniano Arico officially announces the entrance of new Italian Team "Squadra Milano" to join the F1 1953 grid. Current F2 leader, Joen Forsberg is announced as the first driver signed with Arico stated to be looking for a top free agent to sign at the end of the season. Current favourites for the seat include Nathaniel Crowe, Aidan Watson and Medoro Serami. While Casper Maier and Antenor Bezerra will be out of a seat next season, both are expected to resign with their current teams. Swiss fan left disappointed after local hero Sandro Remund crashes out on the final lap of his home Grand Prix, placing him at the bottom of the F1 standings. Rumour has it this may be Remund is considering a move down to the F2 grid for next season having failed to score a single point halfway through the season.

The past winners are completely overshadowed this season. I was expecting at least Hagedorn to stay consistent, but they are even struggling as a team. Hagedorn pretty much have the same issue Maple had last season where the car is super unreliable. Their reliability is actually at the lowest it can be (matching that of the privateers), but their car is amazingly good. Maple between seasons invested heavily into making sure the car wouldn't fall to pieces and are seeing that work pay-off. Hagedorn meanwhile are winning every race they finish, but aren't finishing enough races for it to matter. At the current rate I'd imagine Casper Maier is looking for a car that car finish more races next season, while Hagedorn are likely looking for a driver who can keep the car in check better.
