August 1st - August 4th 1984
- We made 4.2$ millions in July, that is incredible!
- Tommy Rich has been released, which made Tommy Rogers and Jim Cornette very happy. I'm quite disappointed in Rich, but I had to move forward and his 14/16 months run hasn't been too bad after all
- On the contrary, Dutch Mantell has signed a deal for another 9 months. His feud with Buddy Roberts showed good quality segments and so-so matches, so maybe he will do better in another role? He's well liked backstage and over enough to be a mid level player
- Arman Hussein has also left the company, as I didn't renew his 1 year contract. His guys are not featured anymore and will only do extra work on TV, I'm saving money on their manager
- News from the wrestling world: WWF is investing in a new Andre the Giant vs. Adrian Adonis feud; Jake Roberts is getting a lot of momentum in MSW; Jumbo Tsuruta has relocated in MidSouth as now he is a regular for MACW

KEVIN VON ERICH & KERRY VON ERICH vs KING KONG BUNDY & DICK MURDOCH (w/ Skandor Akbar)
The crowd is all on the von Erichs’ side, while Bundy’s forehead is taped after the match he had against Terry Funk at Star Wars. The heels seem more irritable than usual, making them more dangerous but also more vulnerable. After a high knee by Kevin, Bundy pulls Murdoch out of the ring and they leave for a countout loss! (77) (9:53)
Postmatch Bill Mercer interviews Kerry and Kevin, who have harsh words for Devastation Inc. for having no honour and self-respect! Kerry dedicates this victory to David (in hospital with a concussion) and says that, after the bullet David took for him, he knows the value of brotherhood and they are more united than ever! Mercer asks what’s next for the von Erichs and Kevin says that, apart from keeping the Six Man Tag Titles, it’s time for them to get singles gold again! (75)
DUTCH MANTELL vs JUNKYARD DOG
Mantell is banged up after Star Wars and seems willing to end this match as soon as he can, but in the meantime Buddy Roberts joins commentary and Mantell quickly starts antagonizing him. Mantell slaps Roberts and goes back into the ring, but JYD hits the thump and wins! (59) (6:56)
On stage Bill Mercer interviews the Four Horsemen and Ric Flair talks about being the greatest wrestler ever. Mercer asks then why Ted DiBiase is the only one left with gold, but Skandor Akbar interrupts them! Akbar says that his boys have protected the Horsemen for weeks and Flair hasn’t given them what he promised, so he spoke to Fritz and they agreed on this: next week, Bundy will face Stan Hansen for the World Title! Akbar leaves and Flair is not happy, saying that it’s his belt! (87)
MAGNUM TA (w/ Sherri) vs BARRY WINDHAM
Magnum is so confident after beating Tito Santana at Star Wars, but JR tells us not to underestimate young Windham, who already took Ric Flair to the limit on two occasions. Magnum dominates, but Tito Santana (arm in a sling) comes to ringside to cheer on Windham… and Magnum throws Windham on Santana! Windham checks on Santana now and Magnum wins by countout! (82) (10:07)
On stage Bill Mercer interviews Rock & Roll Express, who thank the fans for their support and are happy about being the new World Tag Team Champions! Bobby Heenan shows up and congratulates them, but warns them that the Midnight Express will use their rematch in 2 weeks… and they better shine these belts for them! (75)
BRIAN ADIAS vs MICHAEL HAYES
Hayes is absolutely furious after Star Wars and destroys Adias, without making him breathe. The referee is upset, because Hayes keeps breaking the rules without actually going to far. Hayes uses the bulldog and wins quickly! (70) (6:44)
Postmatch Hayes grabs a microphone and says that he hopes that David is suffering in his hospital bed, because his action at Star Wars ruined his plan! The reality is that no von Erich can beat him and he dares them to fight him again! Hayes says that both Jimmy Garvin and Terry Gordy have a week off, he knows they can’t reform a trio, but this is not the last time we have seen him… and he knows which men he should count on! (80)
CHRIS ADAMS (w/ Gary Hart and Mr. X) vs MIKE JOHNSON
Johnson shows some progress, but Adams is clearly playing with him and has an easy match also thanks to the 2 people that help him at ringside. Adams uses the superkick and wins the match in a few minutes (65) (5:43)
Postmatch Hart hypes the return of Gino Hernandez and so X unmasks… but it’s Tully Blanchard! Blanchard superkicks Adams, while Hart runs away! Blanchard tells Adams to send this message to Gino, because he’s next on his list! (70)
NON-TITLE MATCH
STAN HANSEN vs TED DIBIASE (w/ Bobby Heenan)
Ric Flair joins commentary and complains about losing the World Title without getting pinned or submitted, that is a joke. JR asks about Bundy as next contender and Flair ignores the question. DiBiase does well on the mat, but Hansen comes back and Flair interferes to cause a DQ! (90)
Postmatch DiBiase is upset at Flair for ruining the match, but Terry Funk makes his way down the ring! Flair and DiBiase leave and argue, while Funk and Hansen celebrate and Hansen shows the World Title! (90)
Show notes
- My biggest non-PPV attendance ever! You guessed it, we need a bigger room lol
- The Horsemen had an amazing segment and I dare to say that DiBiase looked even better than Flair on the mic! DiBiase also shined in the main event against Hansen and the crowd was hot for the last part too! It all went well for them and this should move along smoothly!
- I am not worried with the relatively low rating for the opener, as there will be a rematch and so I asked the guys to hold it back a bit. However, the brothers' promo wasn't captivating as usual
- Funny enough, Hayes and Adias have great chemistry but there wasn't enough selling in their match. Interesting. I decided to only showcase Hayes and leave the others at home to create anticipation leading to the next chapters...
- Windham and Magnum continue to impress, they had a great match despite the cheap finish and the crowd was hot
