It's surprising that you pulled the trigger on Bundy as the Texas Heavyweight Champion. But as someone who doesn't like the Von Erichs at all, I'm a fan of the idea, even though it's a probability that David wins it back soon. I also didn't expect The Funks to win on the main event, but it's the right thing if you're building Flair vs. Funk.

Michael Hayes says that it's funny how their promo time has died since their issue with the von Erichs started, no one even asked him why he turned on Kerry and what their agreement was. Tonight they got Chris Adams and Tommy Rich again, but with Rich being injured they dare a von Erich to replace him! (73)

Terry Taylor (w/ Sherri) def. Bobby Eaton in 9:53. During the match, Sunshine confronts Sherri and they almost get physical. Jimmy Garvin arrives to drag Sunshine away, saying that they are done with Taylor and Sherri (54)

At ringside Marc Lawrence interviews Gran Markus and Skandor Akbar, who are upset by Mr. X treating his mask like a joke to protect his identity. He wants him at Winter Star Wars to teach him a lesson and to respect his legendary mask (52)

In a taped interview with Marc Lowrance, Fritz von Erich addresses the Kabuki vs. Madril non finish, saying that at Winter Star Wars there be a six men rematch from the previous Star Wars, as a No DQ Match! Also, he thanks the Funks for their professionality and announces that at Winter Star Wars they will face Ric Flair and a partner of his choice (73)

WCCW American Tag Team Titles: Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy (c) (w/ Buddy Roberts) def. Kerry von Erich (sub. for Tommy Rich) & Chris Adams (w/ Tommy Rich) by DQ in 15:18. Kerry uses a long clutch on Gordy, who falls and gets rolled up by Adams for the shocking pin. However, a second referee disqualified the challengers for Kerry's long interference as he wasn't the legal man (71)

Show notes

- Lowering the tickets' price has worked, as it was the very first time I drew more than 4000 fans for a TV show. I will keep the prices stable for a while

- The crowd absolutely loved the main event. I was planning on having Rich and Adams mix with the von Erichs and Rich's injury gave the this booking idea. Hopefully Adams will behave, because he's getting over and he's really good in the ring as well, he can play a great role in World Class

- Skandor Akbar did a great job helping both Bundy and Markus with their respective promos tonight

- Tully Blanchard had a really strong debut promo, I am excited to see what he can do in the ring as well

- Bobby Eaton seemed off his game tonight, hopefully it's not because he was doing the job. At the contrary, Sherri and Sunshine had another heated segment. The story is that Garvin doesn't want any more of Taylor, but the girls can't stop arguing

- Kabuki was in Japan this week too and so I left Al Madril off the show as well, their storyline hasn't been the best so far and so I took a break from it this week. It is not over at all, anyway. I am not super happy with Madril as TV champion

February 27th 1983 - March 4th 1983

- Masked Superstar got injured at a recent New Japan show, so the NWA might decide to take the World Heavyweight Title off him

- Kerry von Erich is at 100% again, but I will keep him off the next TV show to shoot an angle. I gave him the week off and he appreciated it

- I loaned Ricky Steamboat for the next episode and I have announced a match between him and Kevin von Erich. Let's see if it pops a rating of if it sells more tickets

- Roddy Piper is making enemies in the PNW locker room due to his ego

- It's time to do a February recap: I had a $199k profit, which is really really good

- I still finished 2nd out of 5 companies in the Mid South regional battle. SWCW keeps running little good shows, even though they are losing so much money. I want their market share, but can't really be hostile as Joe Blanchard owns the company and I have big plans for Tully. I need to this in a sly way

- Morale in the locker room is really high, but I have 3 unhappy wrestlers: Spoiler (unhappy for losing a battle royal), Frank Dusek (lack of push) and Al Madril (refusal to give him a raise). I don't think I will go bend over backwards for any of them. Dusek has always been used as a road agents at times, he's 41 and not over enough. Madril has been quite disappointing as a TV champion and he won't hold the belt for much longer. Spoiler's has been lazy in the ring and I need to think about his future after the feud with Iceman Parsons is over, but I know that him and Fritz are good friends... I don't want to annoy the boss, but Spoiler makes $500 per show...

At ringside Marc Lowrance interviews Iceman Parsons, who mocks the Spoiler for not winning the American Heavyweight Title and says that he was more worthy of a shot. Their business is not over (54)

Bobby Eaton def. Mr. X in 7:26 with a roll up after Gran Markus and Samu distract X (61)

Jimmy Garvin arrives in the ring with Sunshine and is furious about losing to Terry Taylor. Garvin says that, if Sunshine and Sherri have issues, they need to sort them out themselves without ashaming him. Garvin shuts Sunshine up and tells Taylor that now it's personal between them (64)

Chris Adams (w/ Tommy Rich) def. Checkmate (w/ Magic Dragon and Armand Hussein) in 8:12 (59)

At ringside Marc Lowrance interviews Great Kabuki and Armand Hussein, who are upset about Al Madril being injured after the mist and having to take time off. Lowrance reminds Kabuki that he will be in Japan for the first 2 weeks and so will miss his title shot, Kabuki isn't happy and wants to hit Lowrance but Hussein stops him (45)

WCCW American Heavyweight Title: Kevin von Erich (c) def. Ricky Steamboat in 15:11 with a roll up (62)

Postmatch King Kong Bundy and The Freebirds come to the ring and beat Kevin down. The announcers remind us that both Kerry and David are not in the arena tonight due to injuries. Adams and Rich try to save Kevin, but they get beaten down as well (82)

Show notes

- I am really happy about this show! I sold out the arena (4500 seats), it was my biggest crowd for a TV event. This proves that having a good guest and announcing the match can help a lot. I can't do this every week of course, I need to keep it fresh, but next time I have a big guest I will book a bigger arena and take the gamble... I forgot to report it, but I sold out Houston for the latest Star Wars too

- Ironically enough, the main event was good but not as good as I thought it would be. Steamboat asked to be protected and only lost with a flash pinfall. It's the second time I have to deal with him and he's not the easiest guy to work with

- The von Erich vs. Freebirds feud is still hot. Throwing Bundy, Adams and Rich etc. in helps me build to the first 3 vs. 3 without rushing the feud

- Jimmy Garvin has a lot of momentum as well. I need to do something with the girls too, but Fritz doesn't want any women's wrestling on the show. I'll find a way...

- Tully Blanchard had a great impact as well. His subtle issues with the von Erichs, joining Flair etc. can give him quite a few opponents this year

- Brian Adias was off his game tonight

- I am also proud of Mr. X, his mask already has a 6% prestige and he has a new finisher that seems really effective

Really? Cause I only know him from his wwf days when he was one of Bobby heenan's monster heels that where fed to hogan. I don't think I ever watched a promo where he did the talking and not a manager. Maybe he'd fit better as one of akbar's devastation inc. Use his old nickname the walking condominium to build him as a big evil kaiju like his namesake.

- This has been a really quiet week. I was thinking of naming a figurehead for my company, but I decided not to for now. It has to be a babyface, so one of the von Erichs surely, but at the moment the focus is on their feud with the Freebirds and not on one of them specifically. Anyway, Fritz suggested me to go with David. I will keep this in mind

- The legendary Karl Gotch, 58, has retired

- Masked Superstar is back to work at 100%

- Stampede Wrestling is doing quite well in terms of shows, they just rose to a "small size" company. However, they currently have debts for over $400k. I don't understand how they can still go on, same as SWCW and a few other companies

- The young Jim Cornette is getting over as a manager

Taped video of Mr. X being hurt backstage after Gran Markus and Samu attacked him. José Lothario congratulates X for his talent and says that he wants to have his back, as he's a future star and carries on the luchadores tradition (55)

Marc Lowrance interviews Al Madril, who still has bandages around his eyes after the mist. Madril is mad at Great Kabuki and knows that he will have to make a defence this month due to the 28 days rule (43)

NWA Texas Heavyweight Title: Kerry von Erich def. King Kong Bundy (c) (w/ Skandor Akbar) by DQ in 10:44 after the match gets wild (66)

Postmatch David von Erich and Kerry clears the ring from Bundy, as the Freebirds are not here tonight. David and Kerry say that Kevin will deal with Bundy on his comeback, but they want the Freebirds and will face them at Easter Star Wars for the Tag Team Titles! (78)

Show notes

- This show was satisfying as well, even without The Freebirds and Kevin. The crowd was really hot for the main event and the final segment, I am sure that Freebirds vs. Kerry & David will sell a lot of tickets

- Kerry von Erich had all the crowd with him in the main event. I like having the von Erichs shine in singles action too

- Ricky Morton had a good debut on TV, after a few weeks spent wrestling dark matches. I was expecting something more from him and Tully Blanchard, but the road agent Ken Mantell told me that they should have had more time for a slow build bout like that

- Mr. X cut another good promo and he won't never need a script

- Matt Borne was off his game, while Taylor and Garvin are clicking in a great way

- As usual the feud between Kabuki and Madril was the worst part of the show. I will sort this out very soon

March 12th - March 18th

- All hell broke loose this week. SWCW offered a PPA contract to David von Erich and I wanted to avoid him working with my Texas competitors, so I offered him an exclusive deal. I thought about it, David doesn't have any other commitments and the other NWA members can still loan him from me... so there are no problems, is it? Well, this caused me and SWCW to start a hostile relationship, after a tense conversation with Joe Blanchard. As a result, SWCW offered exclusive deals to all of the wrestlers that are working with both promotions. As a result:
. David von Erich exclusively signed with WCCW for 2 years
. Tully Blanchard exclusively signed with SWCW

. Mr. X exclusively signed with WCCW for 2 years
. Ricky Morton exclusively signed with WCCW for 2 years

- So, I've managed to keep everyone except Tully and that is a bummer, but I suppose that he is loyal to his dad and that is fine. I only have him for another month now

- Mr. X have chosen me over SWCW and MSW, while Morton signed for me instead of SWCW and CWA. Again, no NWA members were involved in this bidding war and so it didn't break any internal rules

- However, I will not start to offer guaranteed deals to everybody because the expenses would go way up. For example, Morton was making $200 per shot (so $1000 a month, as I am holding 5 shows per month as of now), but settled down for $2500 per month to work exclusively for me

- Anyway, I have met with Terry Funk and agreed on a 9 months contract with him. Terry won't commit for a longer period, but it's a good start as that means that he will be with me for the rest of 1983 at least. I just need to be careful about not booking him when All Japan and Mid Atlantic are holding shows

- Speaking of contracts, Terry Taylor got bumped from $100 per night to $150 per shot

- I had to move Easter Star Wars to Monday 22nd to avoid any clash with other shows, so my next event will be the go home show

Fritz von Erich interrupts Blanchard and says that, in that case, he won't mind facing Terry Funk at Star Wars, the man that defeated him in the tag match at the last Star Wars! (69)

The Spoiler, Checkmate & Magic Dragon (w/ Armand Hussein) def. Iceman Parsons, Chris Adams & Tommy Rich in 7:13 when Spoiler pins Parsons. Announcers hype the blowoff between Spoiler and Parsons, plus Adams/Rich vs. Dragon/Checkmate at Star Wars (52)

Gary Hart interviews Skandor Akbar at a gym, while King Kong Bundy trains in the background. Akbar reminds us that Bundy never gave up against Kevin von Erich in January and that he defeated David in February, so he will easily win this one too as he won't throw any towel in this time (65)

David von Erich def. Michael Hayes by DQ in 11:17 when The Freebirds interfere (78)

Postmatch Kerry and Kevin arrive to save David and the Freebirds quickly leave the ring (80)

Show notes

- My best show so far! And my best TV rating! Attendance on the level of the last month or so... quite happy with this

- David vs. Hayes was my match of the year so far and I will slowly start to add this single matches in the von Erichs vs. Freebirds feud. Crowd was absolutely hot for this

- Crowd was also hot for the opener, a nice little match that gives me hope about my midcard. Eaton and Morton have great chemistry

- Iceman Parsons is getting really good at his gimmick

- As usual, Gran Markus and José Lothario didn't perform really well. I am keeping an eye on them

- Blanchard still delivered a great promo, even though his days here are numbered

- Frank Dusek is no fan of Sunshine, which surprises me as she has been praised by everybody else
