WWE Summerslam August 26, 2007 Continental Airlines Arena East Rutherford, NJ
*Shelton Benjamin d. Finlay, William Regal & Jeff Hardy by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title The Fighting Irishman Finlay was originally set to defend the Intercontinental Title against Raw GM William Regal in a one on one match. However, victories by Shelton Benjamin over Finlay (as well as Jeff Hardy over Regal), eventually led to them being added to the match as well, making it a Fatal Fourway. Regal pulled out all the stops in an effort to recapture the Intercontinental Title, including using the Power of the Punch against Finlay. However at the same time he did that, Finlay used his shelleilaigh to knock out Regal, taking both men out of the match. This allowed Benjamin and Hardy to go after each other, and it appeared that Hardy had the match won after hitting a Swanton on Benjamin, but Regal quickly broke up the pin, allowing Benjamin to roll to the outside. Regal locked Hardy in the Regal Stretch, but Hardy was able to escape to the ropes, and eventually hit a Twist of Fate on the GM. He then got caught with a Celtic Cross by Finlay, only for Shelton to dive in and toss the Irishman out of the ring and steal the pinfall to become the new IC Champ.
*The Brian Kendrick d. Paul London by Pinfall For the last couple of months, Paul London had been getting attacked in the back, so much so that it had cost him a shot at the Cruiserweight Title (before said title had been unified with the ECW title), which was instead taken by his tag partner Brian Kendrick. However it was eventually revealed that it was Kendrick who was the man responsible for the attacks against London, out of jealousy of London's popularity with the team. Now calling himself, The Brian Kendrick, he swore to take out his tag partner once and for all. The high flying match saw London nearly win with a Shooting Star Press, but Kendrick had the move scouted and rolled out of the way, before hitting Sliced Bread #2 to pick up the pinfall win.
*The New Freebirds [Ray Jay Gordy & Doc Gallows] d. Rey Mysterio & Mark Henry by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles Mark Henry had continued his feud with the New Freebirds, and had found another tag partner to stand along side him in the form of former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio. The two worked well in tandem against the WWE tag team champions, but the champions were able to use underhanded tactics to their advantage again as a third member of the group, Johnny "JJ" Garvin (the kayfabe nephew of another Freebird, Jimmy Garvin, played by Johnny Jeter) who came out of the crowd and tripped up the World's Strongest Man. This bought time for a distraction as Gallows hit a double arm chokeslam on Mysterio to pin him and retain the titles.
*Beth Phoenix d. Mickie James by Pinfall to Retain the Divas Title The Glamazaon Beth Phoenix had proved to be a thorn in the side of former Divas Champion Mickie James ever since her debut in early June. Having won the title from Candace Michelle a month earlier, Phoenix was set to finally face James in a one on one match. Despite being ready for the Glamazon and providing her with her toughest challenge to date, Phoenix was still too much for James and pinned her following a Glam Slam in the center of the ring.
*Matt Hardy d. MVP w/Armando Estrada in a Ladder Match to Win the United States Title The competition of one upsmanship between US Champion MVP and Matt Hardy reached its finale at Summerslam, as Hardy was granted one final attempt to become US Champion by MVP. However, MVP's agent overlooked a clause in the contract, which allowed Hardy to choose the stipulation for the match, which Matt chose as a Ladder Match. Despite MVP's Agent, Armando Estrada, attempting to get involved in the match, the champion was unable to save his title, taking a Twist of Fate from the top of a ladder which knocked him out cold. Hardy then climbed the ladder himself a second time and, after tossing Nick's prone body off the other side, grabbed the US Title to become champion.
*John Cena d. Umaga in a Last Man Standing Match John Cena had lost his match to Umaga the previous month at Night of Champions, solely because the referee intervened to protect him from further injury. This had incensed Cena to the point where he attacked the referee for "taking the decision out of his hands." He challenged Umaga to a rematch, demanding to fight until one person couldn't anymore with a Last Man Standing match. Given Cena's actions in aide of the hated Bobby Lashley, Raw GM William Regal was more than happy to grant the request. The match began similar to their previous encounter, with the Samoan Savage bulldozing over Cena with little difficulty. Things changed though when Cena went to street fighting tactics, utilizing a steel chain and wrench to fight against Umaga. Eventually Cena had torn down one of the ring ropes and wrapped it around Umaga's neck, choking him in an STF until the Samoan finally passed out. Cena finally released the hold for the referee to count to ten, resulting in victory for Cena in the brutal match.
*Triple H d. Mr. Kennedy by Pinfall Mr. Kennedy had made his return on Raw, lamenting the fact that he had been screwed out of the World Heavyweight Title and that he had come to the red brand to become WWE Champion instead. After demanding the best opponent that could be found, Jerry Lawler informed Mr. Kennedy that his opponent at Summerslam would be the returning Triple H, who hadn't been seen in a ring since New Year's Revolution when he tore his quadricep muscle in a match against Orton and Edge. While Kennedy availed himself well in the match against the returning Game, Triple H wouldn't have his return upset by the Loudmouth, pinning him clean after hitting him with the Pedigree. Triple H then made a motion around his waist signaling that he was coming for the WWE Championship.
*Batista d. The Undertaker by Pinfall The growing issue between Batista and The Undertaker stemmed from The Animal's anger at having lost to the Deadman at Wrestlemania 23. This led to a war of words, where Batista challenged The Undertaker to a rematch and, when The Undertaker refused, Batista attacked him, keeping him out of the Fatal Fourway match for the vacant World Title. This led to Undertaker costing Batista that same match with a distraction, helping his brother Kane secure the gold. After both men lost a Beat the Clock challenge to become #1 contender, a Wrestlemania rematch between the two was finally agreed to. Like their Wrestlemania match, the contest was back and forth with neither man able to gain a fulltime advantage. Unlike their previous contest, the end was different. When Undertaker went for a Tobstone, Batista was able to reverse the move and hit a running powerslam instead. Batista then didn't waste time, hitting a Batista Bomb and scoring the rare clean victory over the Phenom.
*Kane d. King Booker w/Queen Sharmell by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Title King Booker had won a Beat the Clock challenge on Smackdown in order to become the #1 contender to Kane's World Heavyweight Title. Without his King's Court to help him, King Booker was left to fend off the force of nature that was the Big Red Machine all on his own, and sadly he could only muster marginal offense. Kane finished off the king with a Tombstone Piledriver, before staring down The Animal Batista who appeared at ringside after scoring the pinfall to retain the title.
*Randy Orton d. Bobby Lashley by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship After being screwed out of the WWE Title the previous month, Bobby Lashley was determined to ensure that it wouldn't happen again. After ensuring that the Samoan Fight Club weren't a factor (taking them out after their title defense at ECW Heatwave the previous night), Lashley had also earlier earned a stipulation stripping Orton of his championship advantage, making the Legend Killer a slight underdog going into his title defense. Orton did his best to play keep away from Lashley, trying to avoid the powerhouse's offense while keeping care not to be counted out. Orton did manage to capitalize on a mistake Lashley made with an ill-advised dive to the outside, slowing the match down and working over the injured shoulder of the challenger. Lashley rallied back though and seemingly had the match won with a Spear, but Orton got a foot on the rope that broke up the pin. Lashley preemptively celebrated, leading to Orton trying for an RKO, only for Lashley to shove Orton into the official. Orton was then hit with a Dominator, which would have garnered Lashley the pinfall. However, from the crowd came former Light Heavyweight Champion and fellow 2nd generation star Teddy Hart, who dived off the top rope with a big splash, breaking up the pin. Lashley gave chase on Hart, but walked right into an RKO just as the referee came to, allowing Orton to pick up the win and retain his title yet again.

WWE Unforgiven September 16, 2007 FedEx Forum Memphis, TN
*The Samoan Fight Club [Manu & Sim Snuka] & Teddy Hart d. Ric Flair & Cryme Tyme [JTG & Shad Gaspard] by Pinfall The former ECW tag team champions had officially left the Extreme brand and joined Raw, forming a pseudo alliance of second generation stars with Randy Orton and Teddy Hart to protect the WWE Champion's title. This six man tag was initially going to feature Bobby Lashley teaming with the World Tag Team Champions, but an injury led to him being replaced by Nature Boy Ric Flair. The second generation squad were overwhelmed by Flair's underhanded tactics, before Manu flattened the Nature Boy and focused on JTG from Cryme Tyme. Once Shad got in the ring things improved for the champs, but a distraction from Teddy Hart on the outside allowed Manu to hit Shad with a low blow behind the referee's back, setting up Snuka to hit a Superfly Splash for the pinfall victory.
*Matt Hardy d. The Brian Kendrick w/Armando Estrada & MVP by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Following Matt Hardy's victory at Summerslam, MVP had immediately demanded a rematch, only to be pinned in thirty seconds by Hardy as he was caught off guard. With his rematch clause exhausted, a new challenger emerged in the form of The Brian Kendrick, who had also signed an exclusive agenting deal with MVP's agent Armando Estrada. The former tag team champion took control of the US Champ early on, utilizing the distractions from both Estrada and MVP at ringside, at least until the referee ejected both of them to the back. From that point, Hardy reestablished himself and eventually hit a Twist of Fate on Brian Kendrick to score the pinfall and retain the title.
*Jeff Hardy d. William Regal by Pinfall Both Hardy and Raw GM William Regal had been a part of the Fatal Fourway for the Intercontinental Title at Summerslam, leading to this mini feud between the two. As a "priviledge" of his position, Regal added the stipulation that moves off the top rope would lead to a disqualification in this match only, effectively taking out the bulk of the Daredevil's offense. Despite this, Hardy managed to outmanuver Regal and outwrestle him at points, eventually hitting a Twist of Fate and getting the surprise pinfall on Regal. After the match though, Regal didn't take kindly to losing, and instead hit Hardy with the Power of the Punch, knocking him out.
*Rey Mysterio & Santino Marella d. The New Freebirds [Ray Jay Gordy & Doc Gallows] w/Johnny "JJ" Garvin by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles This match was originally set to be a rematch from Summerslam, only as a 3 on 2 Handicap Match. That however changed when Mark Henry was injured prior to the match thanks to a 3 on 1 beatdown from the Freebirds, leaving Mysterio forced to find a new partner quickly. His replacement for the World's Strongest Man was Santino Marella, and with him in place, the Freebirds arrogantly gave up their one man advantage. This proved to be their undoing however, as Santino proved himself more than capable in the ring, getting the hot tag from a worked over Mysterio and taking out both Gallows and Gordy, before diving out and taking out Garvin on the outside. Gallows attempted a chokeslam on Santino, but a dropkick from Mysterio set him up for the 619, before Marella finished him off with an elbow drop off the second rope to pick up the upset and win the WWE Tag Team Titles.
*Shelton Benjamin d. Finlay by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title After losing the Intercontinental Title at Summerslam, the Fighting Irishman Finlay got his rematch at Unforgiven against Shelton Benjamin. Outside of the confines of a Fatal Fourway, the two had a competitive match, with Finlay getting the advantage early on and forcing Benjamin to run out of the ring at numerous moments, trying to stall for time. Finlay gave chase and Benjamin would eventually catch him diving back into the ring and take a brief advantage. Finlay made a comeback, but Benjamin suddenly got Finlay on the side of his temple with a modified Enziguiri, stunning him long enough to roll him up and get the pinfall after using the ropes for additional leverage before running out of the ring, having escaped with his title.
*Triple H d. Carlito Wrestled to a No Contest Triple H made a special appearance on "Carlito's Cabana", an interview segment with the former Intercontinental Champion, to discuss his comeback win at Summerslam. Carlito came out and accused Triple H of being "behind the times", pointing out that he hadn't held a World Title since Wrestlemania 21. The Game responded by challenging Carlito to a match at Unforgiven, continuing his comeback tour with a potential win over a former IC Champion. However, the match never got out of first gear, as both men were laid out by the Samoan Savage Umagae, who had been directed towards Triple H by the Game's father-in-law Vince McMahon, as further retribution from the D-X antics the year before.
*Batista d. Kane w/The Undertaker by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Title Following his victory over The Undertaker at Summerslam, Batista had been named the official #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship by Smackdown's Interim GM Vickie Guerrero. The Undertaker protested this designation, attempting to intimidate Vickie to make a triple threat match. Vickie instead placated the Phenom by saying he would get a shot at the winner, but that if he interfered in the match he would lose his chance at the gold. This didn't stop the Phenom from accompanying his brother Kane to the ring for the title match against Batista. The Animal and The Big Red Machine had an evenly paced match, but the end came when Batista, while on the outside, pie faced The Undertaker to the ground in an effort to goad him into attacking The Animal. The Undertaker tried to keep his temper in check, but after Batista inadvertantly knocked The Undertaker off the apron at one point, Undertaker became incensed and went into the ring. The referee stopped Undertaker from getting involved, but Batista used the distraction to hit Kane with the World Heavyweight Title belt. He then delivered a Batista Bomb to the Big Red Machine and pinned him to regain the title. After the match, as Undertaker and Kane stood together, the Big Red Machine snapped and chokeslammed his brother, before leaving in anger.
*Randy Orton d. John Cena by Disqualification to Retain the WWE Championship After defeating Umaga in the Last Man Standing match, John Cena went on to challenge The Legend Killer Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, attempting to regain the title he had lost back in April. Orton played Mind Games with The Champ, attacking his father on an episode of Raw and punting him in the head, leaving him to be taken to a hospital with a concussion. John Cena Sr. was in the crowd for this match, which started off as a normal contest, but quickly devolved into a brawl as Orton attacked Cena's father out of the crowd. This left Cena enraged, and he attacked Orton with a steel chair, resulting in getting himself disqualified. Cena continued to beat the holy hell out of Orton, before having his father deliver a similar punt kick to the champion's head just before The Samoan Fight Club and Teddy Hart could come to Orton's defense. The show ended with the Cenas walking up the ramp, arm and arm, but with the Legend Killer as still WWE Champion.

WWE No Mercy October 7, 2007 Allstate Arena Rosemont, IL
*Triple H d. Umaga in a Chicago Street Fight The main event of No Mercy was originally supposed to be Randy Orton defending the WWE Title in a Chicago Street Fight against John Cena. However, that match changed when John Cena suffered a legitimate torn pectoral muscle just days before the PPV, forcing him onto the shelf for several months. Vince McMahon appeared on Smackdown and delivered the announcement that instead the scheduled Triple H vs. Umaga match would now be a Chicago Street Fight, with the winner going on to face Orton in a normal match later in the night. After Umaga had interrupted his match with Carlito the previous month, Triple H vowed to put down the Samoan Savage. Despite being ill prepared for the new stipulation, The Game withstood the Savagery of the Samoan Bulldozer and eventually pinned him after hitting a Pedigree onto a Steel Chair, knocking out Umaga.
*MVP & The Brian Kendrick w/Armando Estrada d. Rey Mysterio & Santino Marella by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles After failing to defeat Matt Hardy for the United States Championship on numerous occasions, MVP and The Brian Kendrick turned their attentions to capturing the WWE Tag Team Titles instead. The two clients of Armando Estrada challenged the makeshift team of Rey Mysterio and Santino Marella for the belts, and in the beginning it looked as if the Milan Miracle and Mysterio would best Estrada's charges. That changed however after Mysterio missed a dive to the outside, tweaking his knee and being forced to head to the back for medical attention, leaving Santino alone. Mysterio did come back towards the end of the match, obviously in pain but eager to help. He hit the 619 on Kendrick and was ready to hit a Frogsplash from the top, but he missed the splash and landed hard, hurting his knee again. This allowed Kendrick to tag MVP who hit the Playmaker on Rey and pinned him, picking up the win and gaining the tag team titles in the process.
*"Nature Boy" Ric Flair d. William Regal by Submission in a Career Threatening Match On an episode of Monday Night Raw, Ric Flair had made a declaration that his career would never end and that he would never retire (this after some speculation that he was about to announce his retirement that night). However, this brought down an edict from Raw General Manager William Regal, by order of Mr. McMahon. Regal informed Flair that the next match he lost would be his last, as he would be forced to retire afterwards. Regal then added that the first man to take a try and retiring Flair would be himself, making the match for No Mercy. Both Flair and Regal wrestled an incredibly technical match, with Regal attempting to cheat to win in the end after a ref bump, utilizing the power of the punch. Flair however pulled out his own brass knuckles and then clocked Regal with them, proving himself still the dirtiest player in the game. He then disposed of the evidence and locked in the Figure-4 Leglock, causing Regal to submit to pick up the win and continue his career.
*The Samoan Fight Club [Manu & Sim Snuka] d. Cryme Tyme in a Texas Tornado Match to Retain the World Tag Team Titles JTG and Shad Gaspard had lost the World Tag Team titles to the Samoan Fight Club the night after Unforgiven, with a dramatic amount of help from Teddy Hart to the Fight Club however. With Hart banned from ringside and the additional stipulation of Texas Tornado rules (in that all 4 men would be in the ring at the same time), Cryme Tyme seemed primed to regain their titles. The Samoan Fight Club took out Shad Gaspard early on and double teamed JTG in an attempt to get a quick victory, but the bigger Gaspard came back and hit a Drive By Lariat on both of the champions, nearly getting a three count afterwards. Cryme Tyme set up for a rocket launcher to hit a pin on Snuka, but Manu took out JTG and caused him to fly off the top rope and to the outside, leaving Gaspard in a 2 on 1 situation. Manu then hit a huge Samoan Drop while Snuka hit a Superfly Splash on the former champion to get the pinfall and retain the titles.
*Candace Michelle d. Beth Phoenix & Mickie James by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Divas Title Candace Michelle had shocked everyone by regaining the Divas title in her hometown of Milwaukee Wisconsin on an episode of Raw recently, albeit with help from former Divas Champion Mickie James. This led to a Triple Threat match at No Mercy for the gold. James and Phoenix were clearly more concerned with each other than with the champion, which would ultimately be their undoing. Phoenix hit Mickie James with the Glam Slam, thinking she had the match won, only for Candace to come in and break up the pinfall at the last moment. Candace then surprised the Glamazon with the Candy Wrapper, pinning her for the second time to pick up the win and retain her title.
*Mark Henry d. JBL by Pinfall In between matches, Smackdown commentator John Bradshaw Leyfield got up from his announce position and claimed to have a huge announcement. He said that he would be making a comeback to the ring, starting right now, claiming to have found his perfect first opponent. His opponent was originally set to be longtime WWE enhancement talent The Brooklyn Brawler. However the Brawler was intercepted by the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry, as he inserted himself as JBL's opponent in this impromptu match and crushed him in under a minute with the World's Strongest Slam.
*The Undertaker d. Kane by Pinfall Following The Undertaker inserting himself into the Kane/Batista match the previous month, Interim Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero ruled that Undertaker would have to earn his title shot again, putting him in a match against his brother and former World Champion Kane. The Brothers of Destruction had a hoss fight between themselves, with Kane nearly winning with a Chokeslam off the top rope. However Undertaker eventually caught Kane in the corner, hitting him with the Last Ride and picking up the victory to become #1 contender to the world title.
*Jeff Hardy d. Shelton Benjamin & Mr. Kennedy by Pinfall to Win the WWE Intercontinental Title IC Champion Shelton Benjamin was initially set to face the winner of a match between Jeff Hardy and Mr. Kennedy for his IC title, only to interrupt the match and make sure that it didn't have a conclusive winner. Rather than get the Pay Per View off, like he had intended though, Benjamin was forced to defend his title against both the Daredevil and the Loudmouth. Benjamin tried to steal the match after Hardy hit a Twist of Fate on Kennedy, but the Loudmouth kicked out. Kennedy then caught Benjamin suddenly with the Mic Check and went for the pin, but Hardy broke up the pin with a Swanton, pinning both the champ and Kennedy at the same time to win and reclaim the Intercontinental Title.
*Batista d. Chavo Guerrero w/Vickie Guerrero by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Title With The Undertaker otherwise occupied dealing with his brother Kane, Vickie Guerrero named ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero as the #1 contender to Batista's world title. The build saw The Animal invade ECW briefly, costing Chavo and his bodyguard Bam Neely the ECW World Tag Team Titles for the brief time they held them. In the No Mercy match, Neely jumped The Animal as he was making his entrance, leaving Batista handicapped at the beginning, but Batista quickly reassumed control of the match and had little difficulty putting away Chavo with a Batista Bomb.
*Randy Orton d. Triple H by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Triple H nearly shocked The Legend Killer with a Pedigree early on, as Orton was overconfident with Triple H having wrestled a Street Fight at the start of the night. Orton survived the attempt and worked over The Game's knee, even locking him in a Figure 4 at one point. Triple H battled back though and took the advantage, only for Teddy Hart to come in to try and help Orton. This help backfired, with Hart eating a Pedigree for his troubles. Before Triple H could finish off Orton though, the champion hit an RKO out of nowhere and then followed up with a Punt Kick to the head of Triple H to put him away and retain the title to close the show.

WWE Cyber Sunday October 28, 2007 Verizon Center Washington, D.C.
*The Samoan Fight Club [Manu & Sim Snuka] d. Triple H & Chris Jericho by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles (Triple H and Jericho were the two losing candidates in the challenge for the WWE Title Voting) Both Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho had returned to the WWE (Michaels from injury and Jericho from a long hiatus of over two years) the night after No Mercy, each interrupting separate celebrations of Randy Orton in which he tried to usher in the "Age of Orton." As part of Cyber Sunday, fans were able to vote between Michaels, Jericho and Triple H to challenge Orton for the WWE Title, with Michaels winning the most number of votes. This left Triple H and Jericho to team up to face Orton's allies in the Samoan Fight Club. However the history between Jericho and Triple H meant that they had difficulty working together, making them easy pickings for Manu and Snuka. They tried to set aside their differences, with Jericho making a hot tag to the Game and clearing out the ring of the champions, but miscommunication led to Jericho hitting Triple H with a Codebreaker, leaving him easy pickings for a Superfly Splash from Snuka for the victory.
*"Nature Boy" Ric Flair d. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat by Pinfall (Fans Could Pick Between Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes & Terry Funk as to which Legend from Flair's Past would face the Nature Boy in a Career Threatening Match) After failing to defeat Ric Flair himself, William Regal pulled three legends from Flair's past with the chance of ending Flair's career. The fans chose for Flair to fight Ricky Steamboat, in what was Steamboat's first match on Pay Per View since 1994. Though the match lacked the polish of their classic encounters from the 80s, Flair and Steamboat still had a good match between them. Steamboat attempted a cross body block off the top rope to finish off The Nature Boy, but Flair rolled through and cinched up a pin for the victory. After the match, as Regal berated Steamboat for failing, Flair and the legends all gained up on the GM and left him lying in the middle of the ring.
*Matt Hardy d. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Armando Estrada by Pinfall in a Singapore Cane on a Pole Match to retain the US Title (Fans Could Pick Between a Singapore Cane, a Steel Chair, or a Steel Chain on a Pole Match) The feud between Matt Hardy and MVP had grown since both men had cost the other a chance to earn a World Heavyweight Championship match in a triple threat on a recent episode of Smackdown, leading to a US Title match between the two here. Fans could choose as to exactly what weapon would be hung from a pole in the corner of the ring, with the Singapore Cane winning the most votes. Both men made getting the cane their top priority, though MVP had help in this affair with both his agent Armando Estrada and his tag partner The Brian Kendrick helping him along. However, just as MVP got the cane from the pole, Hardy was able to wrestle it away from him and use it to take out all three men at once. Hardy went for the Twist of Fate when Kendrick came back into the match with his Tag Title Belt, attempting to KO the US Champion. Hardy ducked and dispatched Kendrick with a Singapore Cane shot, before MVP tried to hit the Playmaker on the champion. Hardy again countered and hit the Twist of Fate on MVP to pick up the win.
*Rey Mysterio d. JBL by Pinfall (Fans Could Vote Between Mysterio, Kane or Mark Henry to face JBL for a future World Heavyweight Championship Match) Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero had instituted a mini-tournament to crown a new #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, with a series of two triple threat matches on Smackdown. JBL had won the first match over Matt Hardy and MVP, but the second match had ended in a No Contest when JBL attacked all three men with a chair in order to secure his "guaranteed" title shot. Instead, Guerrero left the decision up to the fans as to which man (between Rey Mysterio, Mark Henry or Kane) would face JBL for a future title shot. Mysterio won, letting the luchadore renew his old rivalry with the returning Bradshaw. JBL controlled much of the match, but the quickness of Mysterio prevented the self-professed wrestling god from finishing him off. In the end, Mysterio caught JBL by surprise with the 619 and hit a Splash from the top rope to pick up the win.
*Beth Phoenix Won a 10-Diva Battle Royal to Retain the Divas Championship (Fans Could Vote on the Costumes Worn by the Divas during the Battle Royal) On the Monday Night Raw prior to Cyber Sunday, Beth Phoenix had defeated Candace Michelle for the Divas title after Candace injured herself during their match, leading to her not competing in this battle royal. Phoenix had little trouble with the match, especially after James was eliminated early. Phoenix eliminated Michelle McCool in the end to win and retain her title.
*Jeff Hardy d. CM Punk by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title (Fans Could Vote on Any WWE or ECW star to receive an IC Title Shot, with Punk winning the voting) A vote was held on WWE.com that gave fans the choice of any WWE or ECW superstar to receive a shot at Jeff Hardy's IC title. Despite heavy campaigning on the part of former champion Shelton Benjamin, the poll was won by CM Punk. In his first WWE match (advertised as such, anyway), Punk availed himself well against Hardy, despite the attempted outside interference from the afore mentioned Shelton Benjamin. Punk nearly won the match by getting Hardy up in the Go 2 Sleep, but Hardy was able to fight out of the move and hit an inverted Twist of Fate. He then delivered an impressive Swanton Bomb to Punk to pick up the win. Afterwards, Punk and Hardy shook hands as a sign of mutual respect.
*Shawn Michaels d. Randy Orton by Disqualification [Orton Retains the WWE Championship] (Fans could choose between Michaels, Triple H, and Chris Jericho to face Orton for the Title) Shawn Michaels had won the fan voting for the WWE Championship match against Randy Orton, earning a shot against the man who had both taken his title earlier in the year and had put him on the shelf. Michaels and Orton had a very evenly paced match, with neither man gaining an advantage. At one point Triple H made his way to ringside, as did Chris Jericho, to scout out the competition so to speak. As Michaels started to have the match in control, the Samoan Fight Club made their way to ringside, and engaged in a fight with Triple H. Jericho attempted to make his way into the ring to help Michaels, but HBK waved him off, until Orton shoved Jericho into Michaels just as the referee turned around. This caused the ref to disqualify Orton, giving the win to Michaels but allowing Orton to retain the title. Jericho, Triple H and Michaels continued to argue in the ring, before a brawl broke out between the three that needed to be separated.
*Batista d. The Undertaker by Pinfall in a Hell in a Cell Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship (Fans Could Choose Between a Cell Match, a Casket Match, or a Last Ride Match for the Title) Fans overwhelmingly voted for the proposed "final encounter" between Batista and The Undertaker to be a Hell in a Cell match. The two had a brutal encounter that saw both men busted open at various points in the match, and also saw Batista Spear The Undertaker through the cell wall, as neither man could apparently be contained within. In the end, controversy did reign, as The Undertaker appeared to be closing in on a victory when from under the ring came Edge with a steel chair in hand. He drilled The Undertaker with the Steel Chair, with Batista unaware of the Rated R Superstar's interference. Batista then picked up the Phenom and delivered a Batista Bomb for the victory, completely clueless until he saw Edge looking at him and the World Title from the entryway as the show closed.

Note: In storyline, with Paul Heyman kayfabe banished from ECW (to reflect his later departure from the company, though he'll return when Brock comes back), the brand was revamped under new GM Matt Striker, who changed the meaning of the term ECW from "Extreme Championship Wrestling" to "Evolved Championship Wrestling." This reflects the departure of several of the Hardcore elements of the brand, though Extreme Rules could be used if necessary. This is also the last "ECW special", for the record.ECW November 2 Remember November 3, 2007 Blue Cross Arena Rochester, NY
*John Morrison & The Miz d. The Boom Squad [Kofi Kingston & Colt Cabana] by Pinfall The opening tag match saw the newly formed team of The Boom Squad take on Morrison and The Miz, with the winner receiving a future shot at the ECW World Tag Team Titles at a later date. Kingston and Cabana had a surprising amount of chemistry for being such a young team, and it seemed that Kingston would win the match with a Trouble in Paradise on The Miz. However Morrison broke up the pin and initiated a 4 man brawl that left the referee distracted. This gave time for Miz to hit a low blow on Kingston and then roll him up for the victory. After the match it was revealed that The Sandman, who was initially supposed to challenge for the ECW World Title tonight, was attacked backstage. ECW General Manager Matt Striker announced that Hardcore Holly would take Sandman's place.
*Big Daddy V w/Matt Striker d. Ricky Ortiz by Pinfall In a standard match, Big Daddy V easily squashed journeyman Ricky Ortiz with a V-Bomb in the corner, flattening him like a pancake.
*Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder d. Shannon Moore & Jamie Noble by Pinfall to Retain the ECW World Tag Team Titles The duo of Smackdown stars, Shannon Moore and Jamie Noble, had made their way to ECW as part of a talent exchange between Vickie Guerrero and Matt Striker. The two former cruiserweight champions had formed a tag team and were targeting the tag team champions of Hawkins and Ryder, having beaten both of them in singles competition. The duo isolated Hawkins, keeping Ryder in the corner for much of the match, with Moore nearly winning the titles after a top rope moonsault connected. Ryder eventually made the tag and took over the match, hitting Noble with the Ruff Ryder to pick up the win and retain the titles.
*CM Punk d. Tommy Dreamer by Pinfall Two of the most popular stars in the new ECW faced off as CM Punk took on Tommy Dreamer. The veteran ECW original showcased more technical wrestling ability than he had in a number of years, but in the end CM Punk defeated Tommy Dreamer with the Go 2 Sleep, shaking his hand after the match in a sign of sportsmanship.
*Hardcore Holly w/Cody Rhodes d. Chavo Guerrero w/Bam Neely by Pinfall in an Extreme Rules Match to Win the ECW World Title With the Sandman out of commission, the invader champion Chavo Guerrero thought he would have the night off. Instead though, he had to defend the title against veteran grappler Hardcore Holly. With the addition of Cody Rhodes in Holly's corner, Guerrero's advantage with Bam Neely was also gone, and with the Extreme Rules stipulation of Anything Goes, Hardcore Holly was in his element. The champion hit a Frogsplash for a close fall, but Holly was barely able to get the shoulder up. Hardcore eventually gained the upper hand with a chair shot to the skull of the champion, following it up with an Alabama Slam to pick up the win and bring the ECW title back to ECW proper to close the show.

Mark Henry by Pinfall - Shad Gaspard d. Doc Gallows by Pinfall Sole Survivors: JTG & Shad Gaspard
*Mickie James d. Beth Phoenix 2 Falls to 1 in a 30 Minute Iron Woman Match to Win the Diva's Title The two best women wrestlers on the roster had been feuding with each other for a number of months over the Divas title, ever since Beth Phoenix had debuted back in June. The issue was set to finally be settled in a first ever Iron Woman match, where the winner would be the Diva to score the most pinfalls in a 30 minute time period. The champion struck first, hitting a Glam Slam on Mickie James and then doing her best to avoid any pinning predicament for the remainder of the match. James finally managed to even the score with four minutes left on a backslide pin, but was nearly beaten after a second Glam Slam. However, Mickie managed to get her foot on the ropes to break the count with just 45 seconds remaining on the clock. Beth argued with the referee, giving Mickie time to get to her feet. Mickie then caught Phoenix with a Mick Kick right to the side of the temple, picking up the final fall with just 5 seconds remaining and thus winning the Divas title.
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] d. MVP & The Brian Kendrick w/Armando Estrada by Disqualification [MVP & Kendrick Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles] Matt Hardy's feud with MVP over the US title had spilled over to the WWE Tag Team Titles, with Matt finding a mystery partner to challenge MVP and The Brian Kendrick for the gold. The mystery partner turned out to be Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy from Raw. The reunification of the Hardy Boyz were clearly not something the champions were prepared for, as the former tag champs easily bested MVP and Kendrick with all their signature offense. In the end, it was Armando Estrada who saved the champions gold, as he pulled the referee out of the ring, resulting in a disqualification. Estrada paid for his actions though, as Matt Hardy hit him with a Twist of Fate followed up by a Swanton from Jeff Hardy.
*Triple H, Shawn Michaels & Ric Flair d. Randy Orton & The Samoan Fight Club [Manu & Sim Snuka] in an Elimination Six-Man Tag With Ric Flair's career hanging by a thread every time he stepped into the ring, WWE Champion tried to become the one to end his career, challenging him to a WWE Title match on Raw. Flair was able to escape with his career when Orton was disqualified thanks to the interference of the Samoan Fight Club, but before a 3 on 1 beatdown could take place, Triple H and Shawn Michaels both made the save. This led to Raw GM William Regal making a six man elimination tag match, with Flair's career still on the line. However this would prove not to be an issue, as Flair and the reunited DX proved to much for Orton and his team. After eliminating both Manu and Snuka, Orton fled the 3-on-1, losing via countout to give a clean sweep victory to Michaels, Triple H and Flair.
*Hardcore Holly w/Cody Rhodes d. Chavo Guerrero w/Vickie Guerrero & Bam Neely in a Strap Match to Retain the ECW World Title After beating Chavo Guerrero for the ECW World Title, Hardcore Holly (along with his partner Cody Rhodes) had promised to be a fighting champion and take on all comers for the belt. However during a title defense against Bam Neely on ECW on SciFi, he was assaulted by the former champion and left to be whipped by a leather belt, setting up this strap match for the title at Survivor Series. Bam Neely's presence at ringside was nullified by Holly's tag partner/protege Rhodes, which led to the match being evenly contested. Eventually Holly pinned Guerrero after hitting him with the Alabama Slam, to retain his title.
*Team Hart [Owen Hart, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Kane & Rey Mysterio] d. Team McMahon [JBL, Big Daddy V, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga & Shelton Benjamin] in a Survivor Series Match On a recent episode of Raw, Bret "The Hitman" Hart returned to WWE for the first time in nearly ten years with one thing in mind, to bury the hatchet between himself and those involved in the Montreal Screwjob ten years earlier, as he didn't want his legacy to be one of bitterness. Bret made peace with Shawn Michaels, the two embracing in the ring, but when he went to shake hands with Mr. McMahon, Vince kicked him below the belt and told Bret that his legacy belonged to McMahon, not Bret, and that neither he nor any of the Hart Family would ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The following week, Bret came back out with his brother Owen (who had been working as a backstage producer for WWE since his appearance at the Royal Rumble in January) and demanded a match with McMahon, which Vince turned down. Eventually Linda McMahon came out to facilitate a negotiation, with each side forming a Survivor Series team. If Team Hart won, then Bret would get ten minutes alone in the ring with Vince. If McMahon's team won, then Vince's edict about the Hall of Fame would stand, and Owen Hart would quit his job. - CM Punk d. Mr. Kennedy by Submission - Umaga d. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall - Kane & Umaga were Counted Out - CM Punk d. Big Daddy V by Pinfall - JBL d. CM Punk by Pinfall - Chris Jericho d. Shelton Benjamin by Submission - Owen Hart d. JBL by Pinfall Sole Survivors: Owen Hart & Chris Jericho
*Bret "The Hitman" Hart d. Vince McMahon by Submission As a result of his team's victory, Bret got his ten minute match with Vince McMahon, and proceeded to destroy him after Team Hart ensured that Vince couldn't escape. After beating down Vince with a steel chair, Bret locked in the Sharpshooter and got a submission victory, embracing his brother Owen afterwards.
*Edge d. The Undertaker & Batista by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Edge had returned at Cyber Sunday, costing The Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Batista. The Rated R Superstar then insinuated that he had an alliance of sorts with The Animal, which the champion denied, but The Undertaker believed, leading to the feud between the two escalating. Edge eventually challenged Batista to a match for the World Title, which Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero made a triple threat match also involving The Phenom. The end came when Batista had The Undertaker beaten after a Batista Bomb after Edge was taken out with a Chokeslam, only for the referee to be pulled out by Vickie Guerrero. Batista looked over the GM and stalked her around ringside, before being pulled back in by the Undertaker, who hit a Tombstone on Batista. Before he could pin the Animal, Edge hit a Spear out of nowhere and then stole the pin, winning the World Title. Afterwards, Edge and Vickie embraced and left the ringside area together as the show closed.

WWE Armageddon 2007 December 16, 2007 Mellon Arena Pittsburgh, PA
*The Samoan Fight Club [Manu & Sim Snuka] d. D-Generation X [Triple H & Shawn Michaels] by Disqualification to win the Retain Tag Team Titles The feud involving Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton took a detour when The Game and HBK were both attacked during a #1 contenders triple threat match on Raw, which cost both of them a shot at the WWE Championship. The attack by the Samoan Fight Club led to the reformed D-Generation X to challenge them for the World Tag Team Titles. The match was frought with controversy, as Shad Gaspard and JTG jumped the Samoan Fight Club before the bell rang, trying to get their own title rematch after having been screwed by the Samoans numerous times, but it was in the ending that controversy would reign. With the first referee seemingly down and a second official trying to break up a fight between Manu and Michaels, Randy Orton made his way to ringside and slid a sledge hammer to Sim Snuka to use on Triple H. However, The Game prevented its use and then decked Snuka with the sledge hammer before hitting the Pedigree, with the second official counting the pinfall. DX were initially announced as the new World Tag Team Champions, but the first official had seen the use of the sledge hammer, and after conferring with the second referee, the decision was reversed, giving the Samoans the Victory via disqualification. After the match, Michaels and Triple H attacked both officials with Sweet Chin Music and a Pedigree respectively.
*CM Punk d. Mr. Kennedy by Submission During the Team Hart vs Team McMahon Survivor Series match, former ECW champion CM Punk had made his way to the Raw roster and had availed himself well, forcing Mr. Kennedy to submit to the Anaconda Vise. Trying to save face, Kennedy challenged Punk to a one on one match at Armageddon. Despite the Loudmouth attacking Punk with his microphone before the bell, Punk came back and controlled much of the match over the former World Champion, locking him in the Anaconda Vise again and pulling off the victory.
*MVP w/Armando Estrada d. Matt Hardy by Pinfall to Win the United States Title Through negotiating with Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero, MVP's agent Armando Estrada had managed to garner his client one final chance to become United States Champion in a match with Matt Hardy, with the understanding that no further title shots would be forthcoming. Hardy started off the match quickly, trying to end it early, and had most of MVP's offense well scouted to boot. MVP's tag champion partner, Brian Kendrick, got involved early on, coming out of the crowd and tripping up Hardy on an Irish Whip, which caused the US Champion to chase him around the ring, only to get clotheslined by MVP. The former champion controlled the match for a brief time afterwards, before Hardy turned the tide with a Side Effect. Hardy looked to finish off the match with a Twist of Fate, but a distraction from MVP broke up the attempt. On the outside, Kendrick came back and slid a tag title belt to MVP, who used it to KO Matt behind the referee's back. MVP then made the pin to regain the United States Title.
*William Regal d. Jeff Hardy by Submission to Win the Intercontinental Title Raw General Manager William Regal had turned his attentions away from causing Ric Flair to retire and moved them towards winning the Intercontinental Title from the man whom he referred to as a "moral degenerate", Jeff Hardy, ordering him into this title defense at Armageddon. Hardy came out guns blazing against the more technically saavy Regal, hitting a Whisper in the Wind early on that nearly got a three count. Regal however took advantage of a Hardy misstep, catching him on the top rope and focusing on the injured leg of the high flying champion. Surprisingly, despite a Hardy comeback, Regal was able to pull out a win, dodging an attempt at a Swanton Bomb from the champion and then locking in the Regal Stretch in the center of the ring to get the clean submission victory.
*Mickie James d. Victoria by Pinfall to Retain the Divas Title Victoria had won a battle royal on Raw to earn a shot at the Divas title, in the midst of a brewing feud between James and the so called "Dominant Divas" Michelle McCool and Layla Ali. James and the former Women's Champion had a competitive match that saw the Divas Champion become the first person to kick out of Victoria's Widow's Peak finisher. McCool and Ali came to ringside after Victoria set up for a second Widow's Peak, only to be joined by a returning Ashley Massaro who seemingly chased off McCool and Layla. This distraction allowed James to hit Victoria with the Mick-DT to pick up the win and retain her title. Ashley then came into the ring to celebrate with James, only to clothesline her down after the match and then drill her with the Divas Title. Ashley then hit Starstruck onto the title belt while draped over Mickie's face, causing her to seemingly break her nose as she posed with McCool and Layla, cementing the heel turn.
*Batista & Rey Mysterio d. The Brothers of Destruction [The Undertaker & Kane] by Pinfall With Edge having won the World Heavyweight Title at Survivor Series (and Mark Henry having been granted a title shot at Edge as a result of winning a Fatal Fourway on Smackdown), Batista and The Undertaker's feud morphed into a tag team feud, as Batista called upon Rey Mysterio as a partner to take on The Brothers of Destruction. Despite Rey being ping ponged around like a pinball, he was eventually able to make a hot tag to Batista who took out Kane, hitting the Big Red Machine with a Batista Bomb to pick up the victory. After the match, Rey tried to celebrate with The Animal, but Batista simply walked away shaking his head.
*Edge w/Vickie Guerrero d. Mark Henry by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship At Survivor Series Edge had formed an alliance with Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero (and by extension former ECW champion Chavo Guerrero), which was later revealed to be a romantic relationship between the pair. Mark Henry had won a Fatal Fourway match with him, Batista, Kane and The Undertaker on Smackdown to earn a title shot at the World Heavyweight Champion, and Edge did his best to use his connection to Guerrero to fend off Henry, subjagating him to a series of strength tests to prove he was the World's Strongest Man and worthy of being a challenger for his title, which Henry passed only to be attacked by Edge and Guerrero afterwards. In their title match, Edge tried to use his quickness to keep away from the former US Champion, but once Henry caught Edge he proved to be too strong for the champion to overcome. Henry appeared to be en route to winning the title when Chavo came down and distracted the referee and Henry. This allowed a long haired man to emerge from under the ring and switch places with Edge, catching Henry off guard when he came back. The advantage didn't last long and Henry delivered the World's Strongest Slam to the man without noticing his identity, seemingly picking up the pin and winning the title. It was only then that he and the referee noticed the man was actually ECW World Tag Team Champion Curt Hawkins. Amidst the confusion, Edge hit a spear on Henry and the referee was ordered to count the pin by Vickie Guerrero at ringside, giving the win to Edge. After the match, Edge, Hawkins and an emerging Zack Ryder all triple teamed the World's Strongest Man, leaving him lying in the center of the ring.
*Randy Orton d. Chris Jericho by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Since his return following No Mercy, Chris Jericho had made clear his intentions to recapture the WWE Championship from Randy Orton, claiming he had returned to "Save" the WWE, ostensibly from Orton's title reign. After several detours, Jericho had finally earned his one on one title match with Orton, with the Samoan Fight Club banned from ringside. Before the match, John Bradshaw Leyfield made his way to the announce desk to provide "guest color commentary" to the affair. Jericho and Orton had a highly technical match, with Y2J seemingly getting the better of Orton. At one point on the outside, Jericho got into a war of words with JBL, stemming from their interactions during Survivor Series. Jericho then went back to the match, countering an attempted apron DDT from Orton into a rollup for a near fall. As Jericho looked to have the match in hand, he went for a Lionsault on Orton after hitting a Codebreaker, only for JBL to get up from commentary and pull the rope away from Jericho, causing him to land on his back. Jericho and JBL nearly got into a fight, but the referee managed to break it apart. However the distraction allowed Orton to hit an RKO on Jericho and pick up the victory, attributed entirely to JBL, who then hit a Clothesline from Hell on Jericho to close the show.
Off-Camera Title Changes: December 18: John Morrison & The Miz d. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder for the ECW World Tag Team Titles December 21: Kane & Rey Mysterio d. MVP & The Brian Kendrick for the WWE Tag Team Titles January 7: Cryme Tyme d. The Samoan Fight Club for the World Tag Team Titles

Note: Couple of housekeeping notes before I post a card for predictions. Any thoughts on the first post of this thread? It is becoming cumbersome and somewhat unwieldy to edit, and I maintain a Google Document with everything in it (save for the non-title stuff below, but that could be easily added) for my own guidance. Would it be easier just to post a read-only link to that document, rather than have that huge pile of lists at the beginning? Also, going forward, ECW shows are moving to Tampa, FL, to coincide with the movement of developmental to Florida that happened in real life around this time. Doesn't really effect anything on here, just a bit helpful I guess to know.WWE Royal RumbleJanuary 27, 2008Madison Square GardenNew York City, NY30-Man Royal Rumble Match 4 Legends, 1 Unadvertised Entrant "The Animal" Batista, The Brian Kendrick, Carlito, Chavo Guerrero, Chuck Palumbo, CM Punk, Doc Gallows, Jimmy Wang Yang, JTG, Kane, Manu, Matt Hardy, MVP, Ray Jay Gordy, Rey Mysterio, Santino Marella, Shad Gaspard, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Sim Snuka, Trevor Murdoch, Triple H, Umaga, The Undertaker & William Regal
