Note: Turning the corner into the 2010's, a couple of notes. ECW (which as a reminder, has stood for "Evolved Championship Wrestling" since 2008,) will be rebranded as NXT at some point in 2010 or 2011, not sure exactly when. I have no plans on doing a Nexus invasion, as I detest invasion angles for the most part (anything is pretty much a ripoff of the NWO at this point), which is why some of the Nexus members (Wade Barrett, Ryan Reeves, etc.) have been showing up early. The ECW Title and ECW Tag Titles will be rebranded to their NXT counterparts, while a women's title and secondary title for the brand is in the works as well. At some point in the future, likely whenever I reach the end of this little ongoing run, I'm going to make a video history for all the different championships and what have you. So, there's that to look forward to. In any event, Royal Rumble card incoming.WWE Royal Rumble January 31, 2010 Phillips Arena Atlanta, GA

WWE Royal Rumble January 31, 2010 Phillips Arena Atlanta, GA
*CM Punk d. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall. As a result Mysterio Had to Join the Straight Edge Society. The feud between CM Punk and Rey Mysterio had been brewing ever since Halloween Havoc, when both men were part of a Fatal Fourway match for Punk's World Heavyweight Championship. It increased in intensity in December, when Punk during one of his "initiations" into the Straight Edge Society, where he would pull an audience member into the ring and shave their head as a pledge of solidarity, selected Rey's young son Dominick to have his head shaved, only for Dominick to be saved by Rey. This led to Punk trying to indoctrinate Mysterio into the group, with a match eventually being made that if Punk won, Mysterio would have to become a member of the SES. The two men had great chemistry and had a back and forth match which Rey nearly won with a 619 followed by a Frogsplash. Punk was barely able to get a foot on the ropes though, breaking the count. In the end, the referee took an errant kick to the face, knocking him down. Mysterio set up Punk for another 619, but was taken out by Luke Gallows, who jumped in the ring and laid out Mysterio with a Lariat before climbing under the ring to hide. Punk then hit the GTS to pick up the victory.
*Montel Vontavious Porter d. Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero in a Title vs. Career Match to Win the United States Title Former multiple time United States Champion MVP had continued to be on an up and down losing streak throughout 2009, and when he challenged newly minted US Champion Dolph Ziggler for a title match, Ziggler disregarded him, right up until MVP beat Ziggler in a non-title match. The Show Off's manager, Vickie Guerrero, still wouldn't grant MVP a title match unless Porter put his career on the line. In a surprisingly emotional match, MVP was able to overcome the odds and defeat Ziggler clean, hitting the Playmaker for the victory and regaining the US Title.
*The Undertaker d. The Miz by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Title Intercontinental Champion The Miz had shocked many people by winning a battle royal on an episode of Smackdown, becoming the new #1 contender to The Undertaker's World Heavyweight Championship. The Miz attempted to gain an early advantage on the Phenom, attacking him during his entrance and using his own IC Title as a weapon before the bell rang to try and knock out the champion. The Undertaker easily withstood the attack however and eventually took control once the match started, polishing off The Miz with relative ease with a Tombstone Piledriver to retain the title.
*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. The Prime Time Players [Titus O'Neil & Darren Young] by Pinfall to Retain the ECW Tag Team Titles Since winning the ECW World Tag Team Titles, Jimmy & Jey Uso (the sons of former Intercontinental Champion Rikishi) had dominated the ECW Tag Team scene. The newest challengers to their titles, the team of Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, fared better than most teams had against the seemingly unbeatable Usos, but in the end the twins beat back the challengers yet again, hitting Young with an Uso Splash to pick up the victory.
*Serena d. Mickie James by Pinfall to Win the Divas Title Serena of the Straight Edge Societyhad decried the objectification of the women of WWE, claiming that the company treated them more like eye candy than athletes. Dubbing herself the "Anti-Diva", Serena proceeded to challenge Divas Champion Mickie James for her title. The two had a very athletic match that surprised the announcers, given that Serena hadn't been in many matches in her short WWE career. Still, the veteran James appeared close to victory, only for Serena to dodge a Mick Kick and hit a powerbomb on James instead. She stacked up Mickie for the pin, getting added leverage from the ropes to secure the pinfall and win the Divas Title in a huge upset.
*Batista d. John Cena by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship In a rematch from last year's Wrestlemania, The Animal took on John Cena, this time with the WWE Title on the line. Parallel to the build for this match, the feud between Batista and Triple H had spurred on again, to the point that Triple H ventured to ringside during the course of this match. When the referee went down, it appeared that Triple H would aide Cena with his trusty sledge hammer. However, Cena chased Triple H away from the match, not wanting to end the match that way. The ensuing argument allowed Batista to get control of the sledge hammer, which he then used on both Triple H and Cena, before disposing of the evidence. He then hit a Batista Bomb for good measure to pin Cena and gain a measure of revenge from Wrestlemania the previous year, winning the WWE Title in the process.
*Edge Won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match The annual Royal Rumble match got underway with R-Truth and Tyson Kidd kicking things off, but they were quickly overcome by the arrival of CM Punk at number 3, who used his entry to conduct a "Sermon on the Mount" of the benefits of straight edge from the outside of the ring, only entering when he could eliminate Truth and Kidd at the same time. This would continue with Ryan Reeves entering at #5 to eliminate #4 Santino Marella, but the sermon would stop dead in its tracks with the arrival of Kane at #6, bringing the Rumble to a ongoing continuation. The match then proceeded as normal, though drama ensued when Randy Orton "accidentally" eliminated Ted DiBiase Jr, only to be "accidentally" eliminated by Cody Rhodes even later. The main throughline was Shawn Michaels quest to win his third Royal Rumble match, so that he could go on to Wrestlemania to face The Undertaker in a rematch from Wrestlemania 25. The crowd was stunned at #28 when The Rated R Superstar made his return, as Edge came back early from injury to a huge ovation. The final four consisted of Edge, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry and Shawn Michaels, who had his hopes dashed when Chris Jericho eliminated him from the match. Michaels then went crazy, superkicking everyone left in the match and officials at ringside before storming off to the back. Henry was eliminated by Edge next, and Jericho almost caught Edge with a clothesline to eliminate him, but the Ultimate Opportunist hung on to the top rope and then snuck behind a prematurely celebrating Jericho to eliminate him, securing the win and his ticket to Wrestlemania 26.

WWE Elimination Chamber February 21, 2010 Scottrade Center St. Louis, MO
*Batista d. Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Ted DiBiase Jr. in an Elimination Chamber Match to Retain the WWE Championship Since winning the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, The Animal Batista had become the "chosen champion" of Raw General Manager John Laurinitis, and he took steps to try and aide him on the Road to Wrestlemania to keep the WWE Championship. For example, he automatically ruled that Batista wouldn't be the first man to enter the Elimination Chamber in which he would have to defend the title. The biggest story in the early going was the brewing explosive feud between Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr, as Legacy began to fall apart following their squabbles during the Royal Rumble match. At one point, Orton was down on the ground, and DiBiase took advantage and pinned the Legacy leader, eliminating him from the match. In the end, the match came down to Batista and Kofi Kingston, with The Animal surviving a late surge from the youngster and eventually hitting the Batista Bomb to successfully retain his title. - Kofi Kingston and Ted DiBiase Jr. started at #1 and #2 respectively. - Randy Orton entered at #3 - Chris Jericho entered at #4 - Kane entered at #5 - Ted DiBiase Jr. pinned Randy Orton after Orton was hit with a Chokeslam from Kane. - Batista entered at #6 - Chris Jericho pinned Ted DiBiase Jr. after hitting a Codebreaker - Kane pinned Chris Jericho with a powerbomb from the corner - Batista pinned Kane after a spinebuster preceded by a Trouble in Paradise - Batista pinned Kofi Kingston after a Batista Bomb Winner: Batista
*Serena d. Gail Kim by Countout to Retain the Divas Championship The self-professed "Anti-Diva" Serena of the Straight Edge Society had managed to win the Divas title at the Royal Rumble, but was almost immediately challenged by former champion Gail Kim when Serena threatened to set the Divas Title Belt on fire as a symbol of "breaking down barriers," leading to this title match. In another athletic match, Serena and Kim put on a wrestling clinic which Kim nearly won with a top rope cross body. However when she attempted the move a second time, Serena was able to roll through and roll up Kim, holding her tights for additional leverage in order to secure the pinfall and retain her title.
*Montel Vontavious Porter d. Cody Rhodes w/Ted DiBiase Jr by Pinfall to Retain the United States Championship Independent from his actions in the Elimination Chamber, Ted DiBiase Jr. came to ringside to support Cody Rhodes in Rhodes' attempt to win the United States Championship from MVP. It appeared that the self-professed Dashing One would succeed, until Randy Orton made his way to ringside to confront DiBiase. As the two argued, Rhodes tried to intervene and keep the peace between them, only to turn around into a Playmaker from MVP which led to the champion retaining his title. After the match, Orton and DiBiase began to brawl, with Rhodes joining DiBiase in fighting Orton and leaving him lying as Legacy seemed to be in ashes.
*The Hart Dynasty [Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith] d. The Straight Edge Society [Luke Gallows & Ryan Reeves], Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov and Los Diablos del Corazon [Eric Escobar & Ricky Ortiz] in a Fatal Fourway Tag Match Four of the top teams in the company competed in a Fatal Fourway tag match, with the winners moving on to receive a WWE World Tag Team Title shot at Wrestlemania 26. The Hart Dynasty controlled much of the match, but nearly lost it when Ryan Reeves cleared the ring late and delivered his devastating finisher to Eric Escobar, only to be intercepted by Marella and Kozlov. In the end, Kidd then hit a big splash from the top to pick up the win and the #1 contendership.
*Evan Bourne d. The Miz by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title Since winning the Intercontinental Title in October, The Miz had been doing everything in his power to ensure he kept the title, getting himself intentionally disqualified and counted out when necessary in order to remain champion. That seemed like it would be the case again against the high flyer Evan Bourne, as after The Miz failed to put Bourne away, he went for the Intercontinental Title belt to hit the challenger with it, which would give him a DQ loss but keep him as champion. However John Morrison came from the back and interrupted The Miz's efforts, which provided enough of a distraction for Bourne to hit a brainbuster on the champion and then follow up with a Shooting Star Press for the victory to become IC Champion.
*John Cena & Triple H Wrestled to a No Contest After Triple H had inadvertantly cost John Cena the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, Cena had returned the favor by "inadvertantly" costing Triple H an opportunity to qualify for the WWE Title Chamber match, leading to this rare one on one meeting between the two. Both men were evenly matched, and it was anyone's match before Batista made his appearance known, attacking both men and laying them out with separate Batista Bombs in an effort to take out two top challengers to his title in one fell swoop, standing tall after the match was thrown out.
*CM Punk d. The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, Christian & Sheamus in an Elimination Chamber Match to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Entering the Elimination Chamber the big question was whether or not anyone could stand up to the Undertaker, who had been dominant since winning the World Heavyweight Title back in October. CM Punk started the match, but had a seeming advantage with his fellow "stablemate" Rey Mysterio in the match as well. However, Mysterio refused to abide by Punk's instructions, leading to the two fighting in the chamber. Punk would survive to the very end though, standing toe to toe with The Undertaker once again, with the Phenom getting the better of the exchange. However to the surprise of everyone, Shawn Michaels appeared from underneath one of the steel grates of the Chamber. Michaels hadn't been seen since the night after the Royal Rumble, when he had failed in his quest to gain a rematch with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Michaels hit Sweet Chin Music on The Undertaker to the shock of everyone, particularly CM Punk, who quickly scrambled over and made the cover to pin the Phenom and regain the World Heavyweight Championship. - CM Punk and Christian started the match at #1 and #2 respectively. - Rey Mysterio entered the match at #3 - Dolph Ziggler entered the match at #4 - Sheamus entered the match at #5 - The Undertaker entered the match at #6 - Christian d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall following a Killswitch - Sheamus d. Christian by Pinfall following a Brogue Kick - Sheamus d. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall following a Brogue Kick - The Undertaker d. Sheamus by Pinfall following a Last Ride - CM Punk d. The Undertaker by Pinfall following Shawn Michaels' interference. Winner: CM Punk

WWE Wrestlemania XXVI March 28, 2010 University of Phoenix Stadium Glendale, AZ
*PRE-SHOW: William Regal & Los Diablos del Corazon [Ricky Ortiz & Eric Escobar] d. R-Truth, Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov by Submission A feud had been growing in recent weeks between R-Truth and William Regal, as the former WWE Champion saw Truth as a "clown" who didn't belong in the world of professional wrestling. Regal teamed with Los Diablos del Corazon (the only people he could find to team with him, given his surly attitude towards most everyone) to take on The fun-loving R-Truth, who teamed with Kozlov and Marella (both of whom had spurned Regal's advances for a partnership). It would be Regal who had the last laugh though, as he would cause Marella to tap out to the Regal Stretch to pick up the win.
*PRE-SHOW: Wade Barrett d. Daniel Bryan, Curtis Axel & Justin Gabriel by Pinfall to Retain the ECW World Title The longtime ECW Champion faced the biggest threat to his title reign in the form of three up and coming challengers, including indie sensation Daniel Bryan and third generation star Curtis Axel. All four men had opportune times to win, though Gabriel was taken out when he missed a 450 splash on Barrett after Axel rolled the champion out of the way. Bryan eventually hit Axel with a running knee that might have gotten him the three count. But before he could make the cover, Barrett blindsided him with the Bullhammer and then pinned Axel to pick up the win and retain his title yet again.
*The Hart Dynasty [Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith] w/Natalya d. Jeri-Show [Chris Jericho & The Big Show] by Pinfall to Win the WWE World Tag Team Titles The Hart Dynasty finally received another title match against the men who had beaten them for the WWE Tag Team Titles the previous summer in Chris Jericho and The Big Show, only this time with the undisputed tag belts on the line. As with most Jeri-Show matches, The Big Show physically dominated the opponents, allowing Jericho to pick his spots. However the pair were unable to finish off The Hart Dynasty, and in the end a miscommunication when the referee was down led to Jericho accidentally hitting Big Show with the tag team title belt, knocking him out. Kidd and Smith then hit a Rocket Launcher on the fallen giant to secure the pinfall and win the tag team titles.
*Sheamus d. Drew McIntyre, Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, Mark Henry & Christian in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match The annual Money in the Bank Ladder match (and the last that would be contested at Wrestlemania, before being moved to its own event later in the summer) had a wide open field competing for the guaranteed contract for a World Championship match, with several former world champions involved in the contest. Drew McIntyre appeared destined for the victory, only to be caught by Matt Hardy at the last minute, with the two of them fighting it out for the title. Hardy was taken out by Ziggler, who hit a Zig Zag off the ladder to wipe him out, but McIntyre was hit with a chokeslam from Kane, taking him out as well. Christian looked to quickly head up the ladder, only to meet The Celtic Warrior at the top, who out brawled Captain Charisma and sent him flying off the ladder, leaving the moment available for Sheamus to grab the briefcase and become the newest Mr. Money in the Bank.
*Jack Swagger d. MVP by Submission to Win the United States Title Since debuting on the main roster in the fall, former ECW champion Jack Swagger had been on a massive winning streak, setting up this title match with United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter. The multiple time champion had also seen something of a career resurgence in several months, but found himself unable to handle the raw power and submission skills of Swagger, who eventually locked MVP in an Ankle Lock and got the clean submission victory to become United States Champion.
*Eve Torres d. Serena by Pinfall in a Lumberjill Match to Win the Divas Title The self-professed Anti-Diva elected to defend her title against one of the women she claimed most exemplified the "beauty over ability" standards of the Divas division in Eve Torres. However, so confident was Serena in her victory, that she allowed Eve to choose to stipulation, with Eve choosing a Lumberjill match, putting Serena in the line of fire with all the other Divas she had insulted since winning the title. This led to Eve having an advantage in the match, which she eventually won with a DDT to become the Divas Champion.
*The Miz d. John Morrison & Evan Bourne by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title John Morrison had stopped The Miz from getting himself disqualified the previous month at Elimination Chamber, allowing Evan Bourne the chance to pin him and become the new Intercontinental Champion. This led to this triple threat match for the title, as the continuing feud between The Miz and Morrison reached Wrestlemania. All three men had various opportunities to win, and the end came when Morrison actually managed to hit Starship Pain on the champion. Before Morrison could make a cover though, Miz threw him out of the ring and stole the pinfall, regaining the Intercontinental Title through trickery once more.
*Randy Orton d. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr. by Pinfall The faction known as Legacy had imploded in recent months, as Ted DiBiase Jr and Cody Rhodes looked to escape the abusive tutelage of Randy Orton after months of Orton failing to regain a World Championship. At first Rhodes and DiBiase were committed to working together to take out Orton, but quickly this comraderie went by the wayside as both men tried to earn a huge victory in their respective careers. DiBiase seemingly had the advantage after hitting Rhodes with the Dream Street, but Orton had been lying in wait and as DiBiase went for the cover, he snuck in and hit DiBiase with a Punt Kick to knock him out. Rhodes kicked out of the Dream Street when Orton tried to steal the pin and fought back, trying to hit the Cross Rhodes on Orton. But the Viper was able to reverse and hit the RKO on Rhodes for the win.
*CM Punk w/Rey Mysterio d. Edge by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship After CM Punk had lucked his way into regaining the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber, he was approached by the winner of the Royal Rumble match, the Rated R Superstar Edge. Edge made clear that he was choosing to face Punk at Wrestlemania 26 for his title shot, to regain the World Heavyweight Title. The Straight Edge Saviour was also dealing with his "wayward disciple" in Rey Mysterio, as Punk reminded Mysterio of his word to become a water toting member of the Straight Edge Society following his loss at the Royal Rumble. So much so that Punk ordered Mysterio accompany him to ringside at Wrestlemania. Edge tried to bring Mysterio around, saying his word wasn't worth the humiliation Punk was putting him through, but Mysterio tried to remain steadfast. Punk and Edge had a highly competitive match with the Straight Edge Saviour gaining the advantage following a missed dive to the outside by the Rated R superstar. Punk continued to berate Mysterio as he worked over Edge, whom had been Mysterio's friend in the past, but Mysterio took it in stride until Punk assaulted Mysterio's wife at ringside, which snapped something in Rey, causing him to attack Punk. With the referee down, Mysterio assaulted Punk relentlessly, setting him up for the 619. However Edge, not seeing what was happening, intercepted Mysterio and hit him with a Spear out of nowhere. This distraction allowed Punk to kick Edge below the belt and then hit the GTS to pick up the surprise win to retain his title.
*Triple H d. Batista & John Cena by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship After Batista had attacked both Triple H and John Cena at Elimination Chamber, he felt he had eliminated his top 2 contenders for the WWE Championship. This was reinforced when Raw General Manager John Laurinitis (who favored Batista) announced that Yoshi Tatsu would be the opponent for Batista at Wrestlemania. This was overruled by Vince McMahon, who ordered John Cena and Triple H would both receive title shots at the Animal. The end of the match came when Batista looked to have Triple H beaten for a Batista Bomb, only for The Animal to be taken out via a flying tackle from John Cena. Triple H was the first man to get to his feet, as he hit a huge spinebuster on Cena which sent him rolling to the outside. Triple H then countered another attempted Batista Bomb with a kick to the gut and delivered a Pedigree to his former Evolution-Mate, getting the three count just before Cena could make it back in the ring and break up the pin, regaining the WWE Championship for The Game.
*The Undertaker d. Shawn Michaels by Pinfall After months of lobbying The Undertaker for a Wrestlemania rematch, Shawn Michaels decided to take matters into his own hands, sneaking into the Elimination Chamber and costing The Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship. Michaels reasoned that if Taker wanted revenge, he would have no choice but to face him in a Wrestlemania rematch. Undertaker did in fact accept, but only on the condition that if Michaels lost, he would retire from wrestling, which Michaels agreed to. The two men had another classic encounter, which Michaels nearly won on several occasions. In the end both men were spent, and as Undertaker signaled for the Tombstone, he hesitated as Michaels struggled to his feet. Michaels signaled himself for Undertaker to end him, slapping him in the face with defiance. The Undertaker then hit a thunderous jumping Tombstone and pinned Michaels, ending the Heartbreak Kid's career. After briefly celebrating, Undertaker cleared the ring as the crowd showed their appreciation for Michaels as he tearfully made his way to the back.

*John Morrison d. The Miz by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title After The Miz had once again managed to sneak a victory out from under John Morrison, the latter challenged his former tag partner to one final match for the Intercontinental Title, with the stipulation that if he didn't win the title, he would never challenge for it again. Initially Miz accepted a normal match, but Smackdown GM Theodore Long changed the match so that if Miz was disqualified or counted out, he would lose the title as well. The two former partners had a competitive match with several near falls. The end came when Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Morrison and pinned him, only for Morrison's foot to get the break on the bottom rope. Miz however thought he had won, and prematurely celebrated. Morrison then made a comeback, before hitting the Starship Pain to finally beat The Miz and win the Intercontinental Title.
*Daniel Bryan d. Wade Barrett by Submission in an Extreme Rules Match to Win the ECW World Title In the pre-show of Wrestlemania XXVI, Wade Barrett had barely managed to hold on to his ECW World Title, stealing a victory from Daniel Bryan in the process. The indie darling was granted a one on one shot at the belt, this time in an Extreme Rules match. While the Battling Brit pulled out all the stops to try and continue his lengthy title reign, Bryan was able to lock Barrett in the LeBell Lock and secure the tap out victory, becoming the new ECW Champion.
*Kharma d. Eve Torres by Pinfall to Win the Divas Title The night after Wrestlemania saw the debut of the fearsome Kharma to the Divas division of WWE. Kharma made clear she had come to WWE to dominate all other female competitors, immediately targeting the new Divas champion in Eve Torres. In this title match, Kharma destroyed the new champion, beating her with a sitout powerbomb in under 5 minutes to become the new Divas Champion.
*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] & Tamina Snuka d. The Hart Dynasty [Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith] & Natalya by Pinfall Former ECW tag team champions The Usos made their debut on Monday Night Raw the night after Wrestlemania, attacking the newly crowned unified tag team champions in The Hart Dynasty while also teaming with the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka, Tamina. This would lead to a mixed 6 person tag match at Extreme Rules. Natalya seemingly had the match won when she locked Tamina in the Sharpshooter, but the Usos interrupted the submission behind the referee's back, kicking Natalya in the back of the head with a Superkick. Tamina then hit a big splash from the top rope to pull off the upset for her team.
*Rey Mysterio w/Edge d. CM Punk w/Ryan Reeves in a Mask vs. Society Membership Match Rey Mysterio had done his best at Wrestlemania to try and cost CM Punk the World Heavyweight Championship, raising the ire of the leader of the Straight Edge Society. So much so that on Smackdown the following week, Punk ordered Mysterio to remove his mask as a member of the Straight Edge Society. Mysterio refused and was beaten down by Gallows and Reeves, only for Edge to chase them off and attack Punk (leaving the Straight Edge Saviour open to being cashed in on by Sheamus and losing the World Title.) Smackdown GM Theodore Long eventually made a match for Extreme Rules, putting Mysterio's mask on the line against freedom from the Straight Edge Society. With Edge in his corner to run interference from the rest of the Society, Mysterio was able to finally beat punk, fighting out of a GTS attempt and hitting the 619 followed by a Frogsplash to pick up the win and finally free himself from Punk's cult.
*Sheamus d. William Regal by Pinfall in an Irish Pub Brawl to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship On the Smackdown following Wrestlemania, Sheamus had cashed in his newly won Money in the Bank briefcase on CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. The Celtic Warrior was immediately attacked that same night by his former Commonwealth teammates William Regal and Drew McIntyre, with the former challenging the new champion to a title match at Extreme Rules. Raw GM John Laurinitis made the match an "Irish Pub Brawl" to try and settle the long standing issues between the group. McIntyre was taken out early, preventing him from helping his tag partner in winning the title. While Regal tried to use his technical proficiency, the no disqualification stipulation allowed Sheamus to simply brawl his way through the match, eventually hitting Regal with a Brogue Kick for the pinfall and to retain the title.
*Triple H d. Chris Jericho w/The Big Show by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Following their title loss at Wrestlemania, fractures had started to form in the alliance between Chris Jericho and The Big Show. This was exacerbated when Jericho seemingly cost Show a chance to become WWE champion in favor of himself, as Jericho didn't help Show win a Battle Royal on Raw to determine the new #1 contender for the title. Despite this, The Giant was in the corner of Jericho during Y2J's title match against his old rival Triple H. Both men played on their history with one another in a decent match that saw Big Show try to get involved, only to be knocked off the apron by Jericho inadvertently. In the end, Triple H hit Jericho with the Pedigree to get the three count and retain his title. After the match, Jericho argued with Big Show, which eventually saw the Giant knock out Y2J with the Right Hand of Doom to end their partnership.
*John Cena d. Batista in an I Quit Match The long standing issues between John Cena and Batista finally came to a head as the two men met in an I Quit match, in which the winner would ostensibly get another title shot in the near future. At ringside was Raw GM John Laurinitis, who made clear his preference for The Animal to be the "face" of WWE over John Cena. However it would be Cena who would prevail, locking Batista in the STF and using a steel pipe to wrench back in the head and neck of The Animal, eventually getting him to say I Quit.

WWE Over the Limit May 23, 2010 Detroit, MI Joe Louis Arena
*The Hart Dynasty [Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith] d. William Regal & Drew McIntyre by Pinfall to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles The Hart Dynasty was originally set to defend their titles against The Usos, but this was changed on the Raw prior to Over the Limit after William Regal and Drew McIntyre defeated the Usos in a tag match thanks to help from the champions (in kayfabe, in reality it was due to an injury sustained by Jimmy Uso). Thus the former Commonwealth was placed into a tag match against the Unified champions. Despite McIntyre gaining the upper hand early on, The Hart's rallied and hit the Hart Attack on William Regal to pick up the victory. After the match, McIntyre abandoned Regal, seemingly breaking away from his mentor.
*The Big Show d. Chris Jericho by Pinfall The alliance between The Big Show and Chris Jericho had finally ended the previous month at Extreme Rules, with Big Show knocking out Jericho with his Right Hand of Doom. Y2J tried to gain revenge on his former tag team partner by taking the steel steps and smashing Big Shows hand against the ring post with them, breaking his KO punch. Despite this handicap, Jericho was unable to stop the Big Show from pulling out another victory, as the big man used his other hand for a Chokeslam to pin his former tag partner and pick up the victory.
*Ted DiBiase Jr. w/Ted DiBiase d. Zack Ryder by Pinfall to Retain the Million Dollar Championship After the breakup of Legacy, Ted DiBiase Jr had reintroduced his father's Million Dollar Championship to the WWE, being bequeathed the title by the hall of famer. DiBiase then defended the unofficial title against Zack Ryder at Over the Limit, pinning the self-professed "Broski" by hitting him with the Dream Street.
*John Cena & The Bella Twins [Nikki & Brie Bella] d. Dolph Ziggler & LayCool [Layla El & Michelle McCool] w/Vickie Guerrero by Pinfall John Cena had entered an unlikely feud with Dolph Ziggler, after the self-professed "Cougar" of WWE in Vickie Guerrero had made unwarranted advances towards Cena and had subsequently been humiliated by him. This feud coincided with Cena's friendship with Nikki Bella and the Bella Twins long standing feud with LayCool, resulting in a six person Intergender tag match. Cena and the Bellas worked well together as a team, with Brie and Nikki hitting a double suplex from the middle rope to Layla El in order to pick up the pinfall while Cena and Ziggler battled on the outside.
*Edge d. CM Punk by Pinfall in a Hair vs. Hair Match After Rey Mysterio had finally secured his freedom from the Straight Edge Society, CM Punk led his cohorts to attack Mysterio on Smackdown and attempt to unmask him again. Mysterio was saved by Edge and Christian (both of whom had seemingly made up their differences from the last several months), who chased off the Society. Edge then challenged Punk to a match on behalf of Mysterio, eventually getting Smackdown GM Theodore Long to agree to make the match a Hair vs. Hair match. Punk worked over Edge's arm in anticipation of locking him in the Anaconda Vise, but Edge was able to stop the submission hold and start a comeback. Edge went for the Spear but inadvertently hit the referee instead. This invited the Straight Edge Society to come to the ring, only to be intercepted by Mysterio and Christian. Punk went for the GTS amidst the chaos, but Edge fought out of the move and rebounded off the ropes to hit the Spear as the referee came to and made the count. Afterwards, Mysterio, Christian and Edge held down Punk as they all took turns shaving him bald.
*Kharma d. Mickie James by Pinfall to Retain the Divas Title The dominant Kharma continued her reign of destruction over the Divas division, taking out longtime standard bearer Mickie James and manhandling her for five minutes, easily defeating her with a sitout powerbomb finisher.
*Randy Orton d. Sheamus by Disqualification [Sheamus Retains the World Heavyweight Title] The Viper Randy Orton had earned a shot at World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus after winning a Battle Royal on Smackdown. Orton disregarded the Celtic Warrior as a minor obstacle towards regaining championship gold, given Sheamus' inexperience. However the champion availed himself well, constantly managing to avoid the RKO and hold his own against the heavily favored Orton. In the end though, Orton was attacked from behind by his former Legacy teammate in Ted DiBiase Jr, who came out of the crowd and KO'ed Orton with the Million Dollar Championship Belt, giving Orton the disqualification win. After the match as DiBiase stalked away, Sheamus himself was also attacked by Mark Henry, who assaulted the World Heavyweight Champion and delivered a World's Strongest Slam through the nearby announce table.
*Triple H d. Kane w/Paul Bearer by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship The main event of Over the Limit was advertised as a "first time ever" encounter between Triple H and The Undertaker for the WWE Championship. However, this changed after The Undertaker was found beaten down by a mystery assailant. The Undertaker's brother Kane stepped up to take his place against The Game. Despite attempted interference from The Animal Batista, who was still trying to get another World Title shot at Triple H, The Game was able to persevere and hit the Pedigree on the Big Red Machine to pick up the win and retain the title.

WWE Fatal-4 Way June 20, 2010 Nassau Coliseum Uniondale, NY
*Beth Phoenix d. Kharma, Gail Kim & Michelle McCool in a Fatal Fourway Match to Win the Divas Title The theme of this Pay Per View was centered around Fatal Fourway Matches, with the opening match for the Divas Title being an example of that. It would also be the main reason why the dominant Kharma would lose the Divas Title, as Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim and Michelle McCool all gained up on the champion and took her out in the early going. This would enable the Glamazon to hit Michelle McCool with the Glam Slam before Kharma could come back into the fold, winning the title without pinning the champion.
*Jack Swagger d. Matt Hardy by Submission to Retain the United States Title Since winning the United States Championship at Wrestlemania, Jack Swagger had been on a major winning streak. That streak was stopped on an episode of Smackdown when Matt Hardy pinned the champion via a quick rollup in a non-title match, earning a title shot at Fatal Fourway. The former champion unfortunately was unable to duplicate his success with the title on the line, as Swagger focused in on the leg of Hardy and locked him in the Ankle Lock to pick up the Submission victory and retain the title.
*Edge d. Sheamus, Christian & Mark Henry in a Fatal Fourway Match to Win the World Heavyweight Title The Celtic Warrior faced the toughest challenge of his World Heavyweight Championship reign, taking on both Edge and Christian as well as the man who had attacked him at the previous Pay Per View in The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry. Amidst the chaose of the Fatal Fourway stipulation, Sheamus hit Christian with a Brogue Kick, sending him sprawling to the outside and allowing Henry and he to have a mini-hoss fight towards the end of the match. Henry dodged an attempted Brogue Kick, hitting the World's Strongest Slam on the champion afterwards. Before he could make the cover though, he was caught by a Spear from Edge out of nowhere. Edge then pinned the World's Strongest Man to win the match and finally regain the World Heavyweight Title.
*Alberto del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez d. MVP by Submission Several vignettes had aired on Smackdown and Raw concerning the impending debut of Mexican aristocrat Alberto del Rio. Coming to the ring in an expensive car and with his own personal ring announcer in Ricardo Rodriguez, del Rio looked impressive in his debut match, easily besting former World Heavyweight Champion MVP and winning via submission with a Cross Armbreaker.
*John Morrison d. Drew McIntyre, The Miz & Kofi Kingston in a Fatal Fourway Match to Retain the Intercontinental Title Intercontinental Champion John Morrison was facing a difficult challenge in his Fatal Fourway title defense, as he had lost individual non-title matches to all three of his challengers in the weeks leading up to the PPV (albeit usually due to outside interference in all cases). With Morrison not having to be involved in the pin, things looked bleak for the champion. But he was able to persevere, hitting Drew McIntyre with a Backstabber while Kingston and Miz fought on the outside before hitting Starship Pain to pick up the win just before Miz could break up the pinfall.
*The Big Show & Rey Mysterio d. CM Punk, Luke Gallows & Ryan Reeves in an Elimination Handicap Match After losing his hair to Edge the previous month, the now bald CM Punk took to wearing a mask himself out of shame (and somewhat showcasing hypocrisy after having shaved bald many disciples over the previous few months). His feud with Rey Mysterio continued, as he took on Mysterio and a partner of his choice in a 3 on 2 Elimination Tag Match. However Mysterio's partner of choice proved to undermine Punk, as the partner was The Big Show. Big Show demolished both Reeves and Gallows, leaving Punk to run and be counted out sacrificing his two disciples to Big Show and Mysterio, who won the match in a clean sweep.
*Randy Orton w/Cowboy Bob Orton d. Ted DiBiase Jr w/Ted DiBiase in a Steel Cage Match Ted DiBiase Jr had returned to strike at Randy Orton the previous month, costing him a chance at the World Heavyweight Championship. This led to the two former teammates finally agreeing to settle their differences inside a steel cage. To counter the presence of Ted's father, the Million Dollar Man, on the outside, Orton brought his own hall of fame father in Cowboy Bob Orton to ringside with him. Inside the cage, Orton and DiBiase fought a closely contested match, with DiBiase constantly trying to escape the Viper's cluthches. In the end, Orton caught DiBiase near the top of the cage and delivered a thunderous RKO to the canvas below in order to pick up the victory.
*Triple H d. John Cena, Dolph Ziggler & Kane in a Fatal Fourway Match to Retain the WWE Championship Two feuds collided in this match, as Kane and Triple H continued their issues from the previous month (with Triple H having defeated Batista in a Loser Leaves WWE match on Raw) and John Cena and Dolph Ziggler also continued their issue, with all four men centering around the WWE Championship. In contrast to the other Fatal Fourway matches, this one saw the two feuding parties largely keep to themselves for much of the runtime, only interacting with the others at the end. Ziggler hit a superkick to Kane and Cena, knocking them both out of the ring, but then turned right around into a Pedigree from Triple H, which enabled the Game to once again keep his title.
