WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs December 19, 2010 Toyota Center Houston, TX
*The Aerial Aces [Evan Bourne & Justin Gabriel] d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] in a Ladder Match to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles Two high flying tag teams in The Aerial Aces and The Usos had entered into a feud following Survivor Series, with the Usos being given a title shot courtesy of allying themselves with Team Johnny at that event. The two teams had a highly athletic match with several spots off the ladders, with the match effectively being a glorified car crash. In the end Bourne hit a Shooting Star Press to both Usos off the top of a ladder to the outside, allowing Gabriel to climb the ladder and grab the belts to retain.
*Tyson Kidd w/Natalya d. David Hart Smith by Pinfall The Hart Dynasty had imploded in the Winner Take All Survivor Series match the previous month, when Tyson Kidd turned on his tag partner and abandoned Team Teddy (ultimately helping to lead to their defeat.) At first Natalya didn't seem to be certain what side she would be on, but ultimately she also turned on David Hart Smith, turning heel and allying herself with Tyson Kidd. Despite the British Bulldog's son putting up a good fight, Kidd was able to use a distraction from Natalya to score a roll up from behind, holding the tights for additional leverage and escaping with the tainted victory.
*Daniel Bryan d. The Miz by Submission to Win the WWE United States Title Daniel Bryan had been the final member of Team Teddy to be eliminated at the Survivor Series, having been pinned by The Miz after Mr. Money in the Bank had used the briefcase on him after the referee was distracted. Bryan got his revenge the following week on Smackdown, when he pinned The Miz in a non-title match. Eventually Bryan was given a title shot courtesy of winning a Battle Royal on Raw at the US Champion. Miz didn't appear interested in defending his title, trying to get himself disqualified and counted out on numerous occasions, but the tactics backfired, leading to Bryan locking Miz in the LeBell Lock and getting the submission victory for the title.
*Sheamus d. Wade Barrett in a Tables Match The two former ECW champions had engaged in a battle at Survivor Series, leading to this Tables match between the two hard strikers. In a bruising brawl that went all over the arena, the two men eventually wound up back in the ring, with Barrett on the second rope attempting to hit Sheamus with a Wasteland. Sheamus however countered and powerbombed Barrett off the top rope through the waiting table to pick up the win.
*CM Punk d. Randy Orton by Pinfall in a Chairs Match CM Punk and Randy Orton had continued their feud from Survivor Series, with the Straight Edge Saviour using his goons in the Nexus to get the drop on Orton on an episode of Raw. Orton returned the following week and KO'ed every member of the Nexus with a steel chair, resulting in this chairs match between the two. With No Disqualification, both men battled up to the entryway, where Orton eventually buried Punk underneath a stack of chairs that had been hanging from the TLC set. Punk barely managed to escape back to the ring where Orton stalked back to him, only for Orton to be intercepted by Nexus member Brodus Clay, who nearly took his head off with his own chair shot. Punk then finished off the Viper with a GTS for the win.
*John Cena d. Drew McIntyre by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Drew McIntyre had won a "breakthrough" battle royal on an episode of Raw in order to win a shot at John Cena for the WWE Championship. Despite outside interference from Raw and Smackdown GM John Laurinitis (which was heavily pointed out by Jerry Lawler on commentary, as Lawler and Laurinitis had been engaged in a war of words recently), Cena beat the self-professed Chosen One with an Attitude Adjustment to retain the title in this standard title defense.
*Natalya Won a 12 Divas Battle Royal In a standard battle royal, Natalya outlasted 11 other Divas, last eliminating Michelle McCool, to earn a shot at Kharma for the Divas Championship the following night on Raw.
*Edge d. Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero in a TLC Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The Smackdown after Survivor Series, Edge was having a "World Title Celebration" when he was confronted by his longtime friend/recent enemy, Christian. Captain Charisma was eager to bury the hatchet with the Rated R Superstar, but before the two could work out their issues, they were confronted by Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler. Guerrero had been hired as a "special assistant" to John Laurinitis, and she was looking to get revenge on her "ex-husband" Edge by booking Dolph Ziggler in a TLC match for the World Heavyweight Title at the Pay Per View. Guerrero stacked the deck against Edge, changing the rules midway that said Edge would lose the title if he used Tables or Chairs as a weapon against Ziggler, while Ziggler was free to do as he pleased against Edge. However Guerrero was eventually taken out by the Divas Champion Kharma (who had problems with Vickie's image based view of women as a side feud), removing her from the equation. So while Edge was banned from weapons use, Christian was not, which caused Ziggler to be stopped from winning the title in underhanded means. In the end, Edge climbed the ladder as Christian dealt with Ziggler, retaining his title. After the match when Christian looked to shake Edge's hand, Edge accepted it, but stopped at hugging Christian in the ring before leaving, returning to celebrating his championship win to close the show.

WWE Royal Rumble January 30, 2011 TD Garden Boston, MA
*Daniel Bryan d. Jack Swagger in a Submissions Match to Retain the United States Title Two submission specialists went after each other in a Submissions match for the United States Championship, with both men focused on various extremities in an effort to lock on their signature submission hold. Swagger was able to strike first, taking advantage of a bad landing when Daniel Bryan attempted a dive from the top rope and missed his target. Swagger zeroed in on the injured ankle of the champion, locking in the Ankle Lock in an attempt to get the win. Bryan however was able to roll out of the submission and eventually lock in the LeBell Lock in the center of the ring, forcing Swagger to tap out to retain his title.
*Edge d. Alberto del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The Mexican Aristocrat Alberto del Rio had challenged The Rated R Superstar to a match for the World Heavyweight Championship, defeating Christian in a #1 contenders match on Smackdown. In the build, Christian continued to insist that he was in the corner of Edge despite his betrayal the previous year, with Edge still doubting Christian. Captain Charisma seemed to earn Edge's trust after saving Edge from a beatdown on an episode of Raw, being taken out by Alberto del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez instead of the champion. Due to this, Christian wasn't in Edge's corner initially, leaving the Rated R Superstar to face a 2 on 1 advantage. Eventually however Rodriguez was stopped from interfering by Christian, who distracted del Rio by attacking his personal ring announcer. This distraction eventually let Edge make a comeback and hit the Spear to retain the World Title.
*Natalya & The Bella Twins w/Vickie Guerrero d. Kharma, Beth Phoenix & Eve Torres by Pinfall The building feud between former Divas Champion Kharma and John Laurinitis' Assistant GM Vickie Guerrero had continued building, after Vickie cost Kharma the Divas Title against Natalya on an episode of Raw. This led Kharma to challenge Vickie to a match, which she wouldn't grant. Eventually the self-professed cougar said that if Kharma's team could win a six woman tag against Natalya and the Bella Twins, then she could get 5 minutes in the ring with her. As a further handicap, Vickie chose two of Kharma's biggest opponents in The Glamazon Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres. This nearly backfired on Guerrero, as the trio actually performed well together. However it would be the Twin Magic of the Bella Twins as Nikki swapped places with Brie and caught Eve unaware, leading to a rollup pinfall victory and saving Vickie from the clutches of Kharma for the time being.
*John Cena d. John Morrison by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship The Prince of Parkour John Morrison had won a battle royal on the first edition of Raw of the New Year to earn a WWE Championship match against John Cena. The two babyfaces were respectful of one another, and Morrison nearly pulled off the upset against Cena, hitting Starship Pain for a near fall. Morrison eventually tried more high flying moves, but Cena used his strength on an attempted cross body from the top rope, rolling through the pin attempt and then hoisting himself to his feet and Morrison to Cena's shoulders before delivering an Attitude Adjustment for the victory. After the match, Morrison and Cena shook hands as a sign of sportsmanship.
*Kofi Kingston d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall in a Tournament Final to Win the Vacant Intercontinental Title "Dashing" Cody Rhodes had been "horribly disfigured" in a match against Rey Mysterio when the luchadore delivered the 619 to the face of the IC Champion. Embarrased beyond belief, Rhodes willingly vacated the IC title due to "facial injuries" and took time off. This led to an 8 man tournament for the title, with the finals culminating at the Royal Rumble between two old rivals in Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler. The two men had a standard match between them, with Kingston dodging an attempt at a Fameasser from Ziggler and eventually catching him on a rebound with the Trouble in Paradise to pick up the win and regain the IC Title.
*Randy Orton Won the 40-Man Royal Rumble The Royal Rumble this year had been expanded to 40 individuals, making it by definition the largest Royal Rumble in history to that point. US Champion Daniel Bryan started off the match, and was initially set to face Zack Ryder, only for the Ruff Ryder to be wiped out by Alberto del Rio, who inserted himself into the match after losing his World Heavyweight Title Match. He didn't have long to stay though, as Bryan eliminated him within the first thirty seconds of the match. Del Rio would get his revenge at the end of the match, as he replaced the #40 entrant as well (in Santino Marella) and eliminated Bryan who had managed to last all the way through to the #40 spot. CM Punk would prove to be the match's Iron Man, lasting to the final two after entering at #5. He would survive several returning legends, including Booker T and Kevin Nash, and eliminate sentimental favorite Christian before finally succumbing to his rival, Randy Orton, who won the whole thing and punched his ticket to Wrestlemania to close the show.

WWE Elimination Chamber February 20, 2011 Oracle Arena Oakland, CA
*Daniel Bryan d. Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Ted DiBiase Jr., R-Truth & Santino Marella in an Elimination Chamber Match to Retain the United States Title For the first time ever the United States title was contested inside an Elimination Chamber match, with Daniel Bryan forced to defend against top competition. The former Hart Dynasty of Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith started the match, with Smith eventually getting some measure of revenge by eliminating Kidd from the match via a Running Powerslam. In the end the match came down to Bryan and the self-professed Million Dollar Champion Ted DiBiase Jr., with Bryan surviving the Chamber by making DiBiase tap out to the LeBell Lock. - Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith started at numbers 1 and 2 respectively. - Santino Marella entered at number 3. - Daniel Bryan entered at number 4. - David Hart Smith d. Tyson Kidd by Pinfall via Running Powerslam - Ted DiBiase Jr. entered at number 5. - Ted DiBiase Jr. d. Santino Marella by Pinfall via the Dream Street - R-Truth entered at number 6. - Daniel Bryan d. David Hart Smith by Pinfall via a Running Knee. - Ted DiBiase Jr. d. R-Truth by Pinfall via a Rollup after a low blow - Daniel Bryan d. Ted DiBiase Jr. by Submission with the LeBell Lock Winner: Daniel Bryan
*The Aerial Aces [Evan Bourne & Justin Gabriel] d. The Nexus [Mason Ryan & Derrick Bateman] by Disqualification to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles Since October the team of Evan Bourne and Justin Gabriel had been a dominant tag team within the WWE, taking on all comers for the World Tag Team Titles. There next challengers were two members of The Nexus in Mason Ryan and Derrick Bateman. Bateman and Ryan controlled Gabriel for much of the match, with the Welsh Wildman Mason Ryan in particular doing a lot of damage. Eventually Gabriel got a tag to Bourne, who cleaned house of The Nexus, only for Bateman and Ryan to go Rogue and attack the two with steel chairs, resulting in a DQ finish. After the match, though, both men attacked the Aces with the chairs, leaving them needing to be helped to the back.
*Kofi Kingston d. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title For several weeks leading into Elimination Chamber, Rey Mysterio had been attacked by a mystery man who hid his face under a paper bag. Despite this, Mysterio continued to compete, and earned a title shot against Kofi Kingston for the IC Title. The two had a highly competitive and respectful match, with the two faces trading moves back and forth. Eventually the referee went down, and Mysterio hit the 619 on Kingston and set up for the frogsplash. However the paper bag man came out of the crowd, causing Mysterio to jump on him to the outside. The man still got the better of the exchange and hit Mysterio with the Cross Rhodes on the concrete floor, revealing himself to be the formerly Dashing Cody Rhodes. Rhodes tossed Mysterio back into the ring where an unknowing Kingston covered Mysterio for the 1-2-3.
*Randy Orton d. The Miz by Pinfall After The Viper Randy Orton had eliminated The Miz from the Royal Rumble match, Mr. Money in the Bank had taken it upon himself to challenge the Royal Rumble winner to a match, ostensibly with Orton putting his Wrestlemania title shot on the line (though Orton had agreed to no such stipulation, nor had he made clear which title he would be challenging for at Wrestlemania.) The two had a fairly standard match in which Miz attempted to use the Money in the Bank briefcase to KO Orton, only for The Viper to counter with an RKO for the pinfall victory.
*CM Punk & Brodus Clay d. Edge & Christian by Pinfall After Edge had seemingly reconciled with Christian following the Royal Rumble match with Alberto del Rio, He had reengaged in a short feud with former World Champion CM Punk and the Nexus, leading to Edge teaming with his old tag partner to face Punk and Nexus member Brodus Clay. Edge and Christian worked as well as they ever did as partners, controlling much of the match until a miscommunication between Edge and Christian caused Edge to accidentally Spear Captain Charisma. Edge was then worked over by The Nexus, but eventually got clear and attempted to make the hot tag to Christian. Christian however, still smarting from the Spear he had received, abandoned Edge out of anger, leaving him to eat a Big Splash from Brodus Clay followed by a GTS from CM Punk as The Nexus pulled out the win. After the match, Edge attempted to go find Christian backstage, only to be intercepted at the rampway by Randy Orton, who delivered an RKO to the Rated R Superstar. Orton then posed with the World Heavyweight Championship belt, having made his choice for his title shot.
*Brie Bella w/Nikki Bella d. Eve Torres by Pinfall Spinning out of the feud between Kharma (who was taking time off due to trying to get pregnant) and Vickie Guerrero was a new feud between Eve Torres and the Bella Twins. Eve faced Brie Bella in a singles match at Elimination Chamber, and despite coming close to victory, Eve was beaten once again by twin magic, as Nikki subbed in for her sister and pulled out the tainted victory.
*John Morrison d. John Cena, Mark Henry, Alberto del Rio, Dolph Ziggler & Sheamus in an Elimination Chamber Match to Win the WWE Championship John Cena defended the WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber in the main event of the evening. John Morrison, the man who had challenged Cena at the Royal Rumble, started the match against Dolph Ziggler, and would wind up lasting to the very end to face Cena for the title. The end of the match played out similarly to their previous match, with Morrison attempting a crossbody from the top rope only to get caught by Cena and set up for an Attitude Adjustment. However Morrison had it scouted and managed to reverse the move into a crucifix pin, stunning Cena and pulling off the huge upset. After the match, Cena shook Morrison's hand as Morrison celebrated winning the title, before leaving the Chamber. After that however... - John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler began the match at numbers 1 and 2 respectively. - Mark Henry entered at number 3. - Alberto del Rio entered at number 4. - John Cena entered at number 5. - Sheamus entered at number 6. - Sheamus d. Dolph Ziggler by pinfall with a Brogue Kick - John Cena d. Sheamus by Pinfall with an Attitude Adjustment - John Morrison d. Alberto del Rio by Pinfall with a Moonlight Drive - John Cena d. Mark Henry by Pinfall with an Attitude Adjustment - John Morrison d. John Cena by Pinfall with a Crucifix Pin Winner: John Morrison
*The Miz d. John Morrison via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Championship After John Cena vacated the Chamber, as Morrison celebrated, his old tag partner came up from under the chamber carrying the Money in the Bank briefcase. He KO'ed Morrison from behind with the briefcase and then went to the referee, cashing in the contract then and there. Miz then delivered a Skull Crushing Finale as Cena watched in disbelief from the entryway and pinned Morrison, suddenly becoming WWE champion to close the show.

WWE Wrestlemania XXVIII April 3, 2011 Georgia Dome Atlanta, GA
*The Rock d. Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero by Pinfall in under 10 seconds Wrestlemania kicked off with the Wrestlemania 28 Guest Host, The Rock, coming out to welcome the crowd to Wrestlemania. However The Rock was interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero. Ziggler was infuriated at not having a match at Wrestlemania and, after a promo battle with The Great One, challenged The Rock to a match right then and there. The Rock agreed and a match was hastily thrown together. It ended just as quickly as it began though, as The Rock hit a Rock Bottom on Ziggler and pinned him in less than 10 seconds to score the victory. Rock was then confronted by Vickie Guerrero, who threatened to slap him. The Rock looked to hit Vickie with a Rock Bottom, only to be blindsided by Ziggler. After a short fight, The Rock hit a spinebuster on Ziggler as Vickie bailed out of the ring and then hit the People's Elbow to the delight of the crowd on the Show Off.
*Alberto del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez d. Daniel Bryan by Submission to Win the United States Title The first official match of the card saw Alberto del Rio challenge Daniel Bryan for the US Title. Del Rio had been embarrased when he had inserted himself into the Royal Rumble match two months earlier, only to be eliminated within thirty seconds. He then returned to the Rumble in the #40 spot and eliminate Bryan, who had survived the entire time. Del Rio worked over Bryan's arm to set up for the Cross Armbreaker, but Bryan was able to stop him from applying it. Bryan made a come back despite his injured arm and tried to lock in the LeBell Lock, but Del Rio was able to wrench Bryan's injured arm to break the hold. Alberto then locked in the Cross Arm Breaker for the victory and to win his first title in WWE.
*Ted DiBiase Jr. w/Ted DiBiase d. R-Truth w/Zack Ryder by Pinfall to Win the Million Dollar Championship Shortly after Elimination Chamber, Ted DiBiase Jr. had lost the Million Dollar Championship to R-Truth in a match on Smackdown. Ted's father, the Million Dollar Man, threatened to disinherit his son if he didn't get the belt back at Wrestlemania. Despite having his tag partner Zack Ryder in his corner, R-Truth was unable to retain the title in the rematch, as the younger DiBiase used a distraction from his father to take advantage and hit the Dream Street to pick up the win.
*Jerry "The King" Lawler d. John Laurinitis w/David Otunga by Pinfall Since Survivor Series when he had become the sole GM of both Raw and Smackdown, John Laurinitis had been in a war of words with commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler. It came to a head on an episode of Raw when Laurinitis attacked Lawler when The King was close to actually beating The Miz for the WWE Championship. This led Lawler to challenge Laurinitis to a Kiss My Foot match at Wrestlemania, which was accepted on the GM's behalf by his legal counsel David Otunga. Laurinitis attempted to stack the deck against Lawler by appointing his broadcast colleague (and usual foil), JBL as the Special Guest Referee. However Laurinitis was overruled by Wrestlemania Guest Host The Rock, who announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin would be the special referee instead, with the Rattlesnake giving JBL a Stunner for his troubles. Lawler wiped the mat with Laurinitis, and Otunga was taken out by Austin as well, until eventually Lawler hit the GM with a Piledriver and picked up the win. Laurinitis was then forced to kiss the bare feet of the King, humiliating him.
*The Big Show, Sheamus, Booker T & Kevin Nash d. The Nexus [CM Punk, Brodus Clay, Derrick Bateman & Mason Ryan] by Pinfall The Nexus had originally been set to face The Big Show, Sheamus and the team of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov in this 8 man tag. However on the Go-Home episode of Raw, the Nexus beat down Marella and Kozlov, leading to Big Show and Sheamus having two mystery partners. Those partners turned out to be WWE Legends Booker T and Kevin Nash, who helped turn the tide against the Renegade faction. CM Punk actually abandoned his proteges midway through the match to avoid being taken out, allowing Sheamus to pick up the win by hitting Bateman with a Brogue Kick.
*Kofi Kingston d. Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre & Tyson Kidd in a Fatal Fourway to Retain the Intercontinental Title Kofi Kingston was in an uphill battle to defend the Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania in a Fatal Fourway match, and the Ghana-born star had to allow the other challengers to fight amongst themselves and pick his spot. Barrett nearly won the match when he delivered his dreaded Bullhammer Elbow to Tyson Kidd, but Kingston was able to call his shot and hit the Trouble in Paradise on Barrett to pin him and retain the title.
*Cody Rhodes d. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall Back near the end of the previous year, Rey Mysterio had fought then Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes in a match on Smackdown. He hit the Dashing One with the 619, which seemingly "injured" Rhodes' face. The now "disfigured" champion voluntary vacated his title and disappeared from television due to his facial injuries. Rhodes had returned at Elimination Chamber to attack Mysterio, leading to this one on one contest. Rhodes attacked the knee of Mysterio ferociously, stripping it of the knee brace that the luchadore wore and trying to break Mysterio's leg. Rey countered by attacking Rhodes' face, attempting to remove the protective mask that Rhodes wore. In the end, Rhodes managed to catch Mysterio with his own knee brace as a weapon behind the referee's back, hitting the Cross Rhodes afterwards for the win.
*Edge d. Randy Orton by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Randy Orton had attacked Edge during the Elimination Chamber show, making clear that he was challenging the Rated R Superstar for the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania per his right as the winner of the Royal Rumble. The next night on Raw, however, Orton appeared contritious, wanting to reform the Rated RKO partnership with Edge (much to the chagrin of Christian). Orton and Edge did win the tag titles, thanks to help from Christian, but the pairing would break up two weeks later as Orton turned on Edge, delivering a Punt Kick to him and setting up this match, with Christian in Edge's corner. The two had a similar match to their encounter a few Wrestlemanias prior, only this time Edge was able to hit a Spear off a counter from the Punt Kick to pick up the victory and retain the title.
*Eve Torres & Trish Stratus w/Snooki d. The Bella Twins [Brie & Nikki Bella] w/J-Wow The feud between Eve Torres and the Bella Twins had escalated to the Bellas challenging Eve to a tag match, if she could find a partner, at Wrestlemania. Eve responded by finding a partner in WWE legend Trish Stratus. In addition to this feud, a celebrity feud had mixed in with Jersey Shore stars Snooki and J-Wow aligning with Eve and the Bellas respectively. In a standard match, the Bellas twin magic proved to backfire for once, as Trish had it scouted. She managed to hit the Stratusfaction on Nikki as Brie was thrown back into the ring by Snooki, leaving her wide open for Eve to hit the Heart Breaker for the win.
*John Morrison d. John Cena & The Miz by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship At Elimination Chamber, John Morrison had won the WWE Championship for the first time, only for the rug to be pulled out from under him by his former tag partner, The Miz, cashing in Money in the Bank to win the title himself. This led to a triple threat match at Mania, as former champions Cena and Morrison challenged The Miz for the title. Concurrent to this build, Cena had engaged in a war of words with Wrestlemania guest host The Rock leading into the event. The Rock installed himself as the Special Guest Enforcer for this match to keep The Miz and his antics in line. However, it would be the feud between The Rock and Cena that would overshadow everything, as The Rock delivered a Rock Bottom to John Cena, taking him out of the match. Miz attempted to cover Cena after this, but Morrison broke up the pin with Starship Pain before hitting the Moonlight Drive on Miz to pick up the win and regain the title.
*The Undertaker d. Triple H by Pinfall in a Hell in a Cell Match The headliner for the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2011 was Shawn Michaels, which was announced by Michaels' best friend Triple H. In the announcement, Triple H lamented the fact that the Undertaker had retired Michaels at Wrestlemania the year before. This led The Game to eventually challenge The Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania, their first ever on Pay Per View. Taker agreed, but only if the match was Hell in a Cell. Triple H's wife, Stephanie McMahon, added a stipulation that made Michaels the Special Guest Referee, with the chief goal being to end The Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak. After a long and arduous match, which saw the streak nearly get broken after a Sweet Chin Music and Pedigree combo, The Undertaker eventually hit a second Tombstone piledriver on The Game to pick up the win, extending his streak to end the show.

*The Miz d. John Morrison by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship Following The Rock's interference in the WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania (which would lead to John Cena issuing a challenge to the Great One for the following year's Wrestlemania), WWE General Manager John Laurinitis had ordered new WWE Champion John Morrison to defend his title against both The Miz and John Cena in separate matches at Extreme Rules. The Miz won a coin toss to earn the right to go first or second, choosing to go first. Against his former tag partner, The Miz was seemingly outclassed by the new WWE Champion, as Morrison used his high flying ability to take control of the match. Miz took control with a surreptitious low blow and then a chop block to take out the knee of Morrison, before locking in a Figure-4 for an attempted submission victory. Morrison fought back and went for the Moonlight Drive in the corner, but Miz countered into a stack up pinning combination. Miz then placed his feet on the ropes for added leverage to get the dirty pin and regain the WWE Championship.
*John Cena d. David Otunga by Pinfall John Laurinitis ordered that John Cena would have to compete in a match against a mystery opponent. That opponent turned out to be Laurinitis' own Legal Counsel, David Otunga. The lawyer turned wrestler didn't fare very well against Big Match John, as Cena defeated him with an Attitude Adjustment in less than 5 minutes.
*Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov d. The Nexus [Mason Ryan & Derrick Bateman] by Pinfall to Win the WWE World Tag Team Titles At Wrestlemania, the duo of Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov were originally supposed to team with Big Show and Sheamus in an 8 man tag against The Nexus. However Marella and Kozlov were attacked in the weeks leading into Wrestlemania, forcing them to miss the show. They returned on an episode of Smackdown, attacking The Nexus during a tag title defense against the Usos, leading to this title match. Ryan and Bateman worked over Santino for much of the match, keeping Kozlov on the outside. The Moscow Mauler eventually made the tag, but a low blow from Bateman kept him in check. Santino eventually made another hot tag and came in like a house of fire, eventually hitting the "dreaded" Cobra for the victory and winning the tag titles.
*Cody Rhodes d. Kofi Kingston in a Ladder Match to Win the WWE Intercontinental Title Back in early January, Cody Rhodes had voluntarily relinquished the IC Championship as a result of his "facial disfigurement". Kofi Kingston had then won a tournament to crown a new champion at the Royal Rumble. Following Wrestlemania, Rhodes showed up on Smackdown with his IC Title belt, claiming to still be the real champion, leading to a Ladder Match between the two men with both belts on the line. In a stellar Ladder match, Kofi hit several high spots en route to nearly becoming the Undisputed Champion. However Rhodes took advantage of a missed Boom Drop from the top of a Ladder to hit the Cross Rhodes onto another Ladder to KO Kingston, and then climbed up to grab both titles and become IC Champion once again.
*Sheamus d. Brodus Clay by Pinfall in an Irish Pub Brawl Match Continuing their feud from Wrestlemania (though this time with CM Punk having abandoned The Nexus), The Celtic Warrior Sheamus challenged Brodus Clay to an Irish Pub Brawl, where there were No Disqualifications. The massive Clay was able to throw his weight around impressively, but Sheamus still hit Brodus square in the face with a chair courtesy of a Brogue Kick to the head, knocking him out and winning the match.
*Alberto del Rio d. Daniel Bryan & Rey Mysterio by Submission to Retain the United States Title Daniel Bryan immediately sought to recapture the United States Championship from Alberto del Rio after losing it to him at Wrestlemania, but the match was expanded to include del Rio's longtime rival Rey Mysterio after the luchadore had beaten the Mexican Aristocrat in a Non-Title match on Smackdown. In the end it would be Mysterio who would fall to del Rio, tapping out to the Cross Armbreaker to give del Rio the win and title retention.
*Christian d. Randy Orton, Tyson Kidd & Mark Henry in a Four Corners Elimination Match for the Vacant World Heavyweight Title Shortly after Wrestlemania, World Heavyweight Champion Edge revealed that he had suffered a career ending neck injury and would be forced to retire, vacating the title in the process. A series of matches were held on Raw and Smackdown to advance four contenders to compete in an Elimination match to crown a new champion. Tyson Kidd was the first man eliminated, as Mark Henry finished him off with a World's Strongest Slam. Orton and Christian then teamed up to take out Mark Henry, with Orton pinning him after an RKO. Christian and Orton then had a spirited match that saw Christian reverse an RKO and hit the Killswitch to win the World Title, embracing his best friend Edge in the process.
*John Cena d. The Miz by Submission to Win the WWE Championship The Miz immediately tried to get himself disqualified by kicking John Cena low, but the referee (in defiance of John Laurinitis' orders) refused to stop the match, using his discretion to continue the match outright. Miz then used every underhanded tactic in the book to get one up on Cena, but Big Match John perservered and eventually locked Miz in the STF, ending the A-Lister's second reign as WWE Champion at less than a day to end the show.

*Kevin Nash d. Alberto del Rio by Pinfall to Win the United States Title United States Champion Alberto del Rio had recently insulted WWE legend and former WCW champion Kevin Nash over the fact that in 2 separate runs with the company, the former Diesel had never held a major individual title in WWE. Nash took umbridge to this and challenged del Rio to a US Title match at Over the Limit. The Mexican Aristocrat targeted Nash's notoriously injury prone knees, forgoing his usual Cross Armbreaker finisher. Nash however fought through this attack and countered attempted interference from Ricardo Rodriguez, eventually hitting del Rio with the Jackknife Powerbomb to score the upset and win the US Title to the shock of many.
*Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov d. The Nexus [Mason Ryan, Derrick Bateman & Brodus Clay] by Pinfall in a 3 on 2 Handicap Match to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles The unlikely tag team champions of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defended their titles against the whole of the Nexus in a 3 on 2 Handicap Match. Despite the numbers advantage, the Nexus couldn't maintain their cohesiveness as a group, allowing Bateman to be left alone in the ring with Santino who hit the "dreaded" Cobra and picking up the pinfall.
*Sin Cara d. Chavo Guerrero by Pinfall After weeks of hype, the Mexican luchadore Sin Cara debuted in WWE, facing longtime veteran Chavo Guerrero. The international star easily bested the veteran, hitting a top rope Dragonrana for the easy pinfall victory in his debut match.
*Ted DiBiase Jr. d. Zack Ryder by Pinfall to Retain the Million Dollar Championship Former tag team champion Zack Ryder had been steadily growing in online popularity through a Youtube show called Z! True Long Island Story. This groundswell of support got on the nerves of Ted DiBiase Jr, who called Ryder a freak and a "flash in the pan" leading to this match for DiBiase's unsanctioned Million Dollar Championship. DiBiase underestimated Ryder's tenacity, as the viral star actually managed to kick out of the Dream Street at one point and make a comeback. Before Ryder could score the upset though, DiBiase pulled a school boy roll up on him and held the tights to get the pinfall victory.
*Rey Mysterio d. Cody Rhodes by Disqualification [Rhodes Retains IC Title] After regaining the Intercontinental Championship, Cody Rhodes resumed his feud with the man who has "disfigured him", Rey Mysterio. The two met for Rhodes' newly won championship. However the Undashing One was far more interested in hurting Mysterio than he was in retaining his title and winning the match, especially after Rhodes narrowly dodged another 619 from Mysterio. This drove Cody to attack Mysterio with the Intercontinental Title belt. Rhodes busted Mysterio open, ripping off his mask (though not exposing his face to the camera. Mysterio won the match by DQ, but certainly didn't look like a winner.
*Brie Bella d. Eve Torres, Alicia Fox & Nikki Bella in a Fatal Fourway Match to Win the Divas Title After winning the Divas Title the night after Wrestlemania, Eve Torres had continued her feud with the Bella Twins, teaming with Alicia Fox to face them on several episodes of Raw and Smackdown. A Fatal Fourway was set up by John Laurinitis' assistant Vickie Guerrero, who had her own issues with all four of the Divas. Brie and Nikki Bella teamed well together until the very end, when Brie allowed Eve to interrupt a pinfall attempt by Nikki. Rather than help her sister, Brie jumped in and got the pinfall herself, regaining the Divas Title.
*Randy Orton d. Christian by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship After Christian won an emotional victory for the World Title, which had been vacated by his best friend Edge due to injury, Christian was congratulated on an episode of Smackdown by the man he had defeated for the title, Randy Orton. However the comraderie wouldn't last, as Orton would attack Christian in a blind rage, setting up this title match. The two had an evenly paced match for the title, but Orton was able to reverse a Kill Switch into an RKO to pick up the win and take the title.
*John Cena d. The Miz and John Morrison in a Steel Cage Match to Retain the WWE Championship Courtesy of a request to WWE General Manager John Laurinitis, The Miz was able to cash in his automatic rematch for the WWE Championship with the stipulation of a Steel Cage Match, ostensibly to keep John Morrison out of the affair. However Morrison would earn his way into the match by defeating Cena and Miz in a Handicap match on Raw, making the Cage match a Triple Threat. Morrison nearly had the match won at one point, but he executed a twisting moonsault off the top of the cage to both Miz and Cena to take them out. In the end, Cena and Morrison would race each other up either side of the cage, while Miz crawled his way to the door. Cena hit the floor a split second before the other two men in order to pick up the win and retain the title to close the show.
