WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs December 16, 2012 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Wade Barrett w/Aksana d. Antonio Cesaro by Pinfall in a Chairs Match to Win the Intercontinental Title Wade Barrett had made his return from injury to WWE shortly before Survivor Series, and had been on a winning streak ever since. This included being one of the two survivors in the traditional Survivor Series match the month before. Barrett eventually aligned himself with Aksana, the former valet of Intercontinental Champion Antonio Cesaro, in an attempt to win that championship, with a Chairs match set up between the two Europeans at TLC. Cesaro continued to showcase his unique offense and freakish strength, delivering his Giant Swing to Barrett that left the Bullhammer dazed. Towards the end of the match, Cesaro was signaling for the Neutralizer when he was hit from behind by a steel chair wielded by Aksana. The chair shot barely fazed him and he began to deliver a Giant Swing to his former valet, but mid swing was drilled with a Bullhammer, knocking him out. Barrett then followed up with the Wasteland onto a steel chair for added effect to pick up the win and the IC Title.
*AJ Lee w/Kaitlyn d. Naomi w/Cameron by Submission to Retain the Divas Title Two former rivals in NXT squared off for the Divas title. They clearly knew each other well, given their battles in the developmental brand. AJ solidified her status at the top of the division with a victory over Naomi, locking her in the Black Widow for the tap out.
*The Brooklyn Brawler d. Jinder Mahal w/Heath Slater by Pinfall Jinder Mahal had recently adopted the gimmick of a spiritual guru of sorts, trying to help people become "men of peace" and being forced to use "violence to force non-violence" to those who made fun of his mission. Mahal had gained a disciple in the "One Man Band" Heath Slater, and looked to expand his following, challenging anyone in the back to a match. The challenge was answered by noted Brooklyn resident The Brooklyn Brawler, who was competing in his hometown. Jinder dismissed his opponent, before suddenly being rolled up from behind and pinned by the longtime jobber. After the match Mahal and Slater beat down the Brawler, only for the Brawler to be saved by The Rock, who wiped out Mahal and Slater (The Rock had been there to declare his intentions to challenge for the WWE Championship the following month at the Royal Rumble.) Both The Rock and The Brawler delivered stereo People's Elbows to the duo to finish out the segment.
*Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter d. Alberto del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez by Pinfall to Win the United States Title The Real American Jack Swagger had become desperate to become United States Champion once more, to the point where he willingly put his "American citizenship" on the line against Alberto del Rio, promising he would leave the country if he lost the US Title match. The two submission specialists had a match similar to the one they had been having throughout the fall, each focusing on setting up their respective submission holds. Del Rio nearly locked Swagger in the Cross Arm Breaker, only for Zeb Colter to distract the referee, getting into a fight with Ricardo Rodriguez on the floor. With the distraction, Swagger went to the corner and got the American flag laying their. He used the flagpole on the throat of Del Rio, before delivering a gutwrench powerbomb to pick up the win and regain the US Title.
*The Rhodes Scholars [Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow] d. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara by Pinfall to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles The luchadore duo of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara were looking to stop the strong run of tag team champions The Rhodes Scholars, with each of the masked stars gaining victories over Rhodes and Sandow in individual singles matches along the build to TLC. The champions targeted the notoriously oft-hurt knee of Rey Mysterio, with Sandow especially utilizing a Step Over Toe Hold to wrench the leg of Mysterio for a possible submission. The hot tag was made in to Sin Cara, who cleaned house of both Rhodes and Sandow, but missed on a plancha to the outside which largely knocked him out, allowing Rhodes to hit the Cross Rhodes in the middle of the ring to pick up the surprise victory.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Chris Jericho & The Miz in a Ladder Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The Show Off Dolph Ziggler had successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase the previous month to win the World Heavyweight Championship off of a beaten Miz. The former champion immediately set his sights on a rematch at TLC, but this match was changed with the edition of Chris Jericho to the mix, as Jericho had tapped out Ziggler earlier in the night at Survivor Series, and beaten Miz in a one on one encounter the following Friday on Smackdown. Thus the TLC match was made a triple threat Ladder match. All three men continuously tried to fight their way to the top of a ladder to claim the prize of the World Heavyweight Championship, and it appeared The Miz would sneak his way to a win after taking both Ziggler and Jericho out with one strike of the ladder, knocking them both to the ring below. However Miz arrogantly took his time climbing the ladder, allowing Ziggler time to recover, jump up, and hit a Zig Zag from the top of the ladder, taking out the self-professed A-Lister. Ziggler then climbed up the ladder before Jericho could stop him and retrieved his belt, retaining the title.
*The Shield [Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns] d. John Cena, Randy Orton & King Sheamus in an Elimination Tables Match After losing to the Shield at Survivor Series, John Cena sought revenge, seeking out help from two of the top stars in the company in Randy Orton and King Sheamus to take on the Hounds of Justice in a unique Elimination Tables Match, where the only way to win would be for all three members of a team to be driven through tables, but eliminated members could still participate in the match. Sheamus was on board after the Shield cost him his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Orton agreed due to his ongoing feud with CM Punk. The Shield were the first to suffer a loss, as Seth Rollins was hit with an RKO out of nowhere, putting him through a table. Reigns immediately evened the score by Spearing Orton through a table a few seconds later. Sheamus attempted to hit a Celtic Cross from the apron to the outside that would have taken out Reigns, but a kendo stick shot to the kidneys followed by a second one across the head caused the Celtic Warrior to fall through the table himself, leaving Cena alone. Cena was able to hit an AA to Reigns through the announce table, but when he tried an Avalanche AA to Ambrose from the top rope, Rollins and Reigns (still at ringside), held his feet and gave Ambrose the chance to push him off the top rope, sending Cena through the table and giving the Shield the win. The Shield then put Cena through another table with a Triple Powerbomb and stood tall to close the show.

WWE Royal RumbleJanuary 27, 2013 US Airways Center Phoenix, AZ
*Tons o' Funk [A-Train & Brodus Clay] d. The Rhodes Scholars [Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow] by Disqualification [Rhodes & Sandow Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles] After being on opposite sides at the Survivor Series, A-Train and Brodus Clay had formed something of a kindred friendship (based on their mutual love of dance) and had formed a tag team known as Tons O'Funk. The two Super Heavyweights faced off against The Rhodes Scholars for tag team gold, and early on they easily overwhelmed the champions with their sheer size. Rhodes managed to turn the tide with a blind tag to Sandow, clipping Clay from behind and then working over the Funkasaurus' knee, even locking him in a Figure-4 Leglock at one point. Brodus was able to reverse the hold though and get a hot tag to A-Train, who cleaned house of both Sandow and Rhodes, tossing Cody to the outside. A-Train then steamrolled Sandow, hitting him with the Derailer and going for the pin, only for the pinfall to be broken up by Cody, who used the tag title belt on the back of A-Train's head, forcing the disqualification but keeping the titles with the Rhodes Scholars.
*Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman d. Alberto del Rio w/Ricardo Rodriguez by Submission When Alberto del Rio had been pointed out by a WWE poll as having the most lethal submission hold currently in the WWE, this raised the notice of Paul Heyman, who arranged a match between the Mexican Aristocrat and his client, Brock Lesnar. Heyman pointed out that Lesnar had snapped the arms of both John Cena and Triple H (the latter of whom had only recently returned from his injury), and said he could easily make del Rio tap as well. Despite Del Rio's hit and run offense being able to keep Lesnar on edge, Brock eventually hit Alberto with an F5 and then locked in the Kimura to get the tap out victory. After the match, Lesnar again refused to let go of the submission, only for Del Rio to be saved by Ricardo Rodriguez with a steel chair. Brock no sold the chair shot and then delivered an F5 to the personal ring announcer before walking off, satisfied with the carnage left in his wake for now.
*Kaitlyn d. AJ Lee, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Naomi & Cameron in a 6 Pack Challenge to Win the Divas Championship The friendly duo of Kaitlyn and AJ Lee had come into conflict with both the Bella Twins and The Funkadactyls in recent weeks, leading to acting WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon to make a Six Pack Challenge for the Divas Title between all 6 women. It looked as if AJ Lee would be on her way to picking up the win, locking Nikki Bella in the Black Widow submission, but the referee was distracted by a fight between Naomi and Cameron (who saw their partnership end because of this match), allowing Brie Bella to come in and break up the submission. Before Brie could take advantage though, Kaitlyn came from behind and hit an Impaler DDT on Brie, picking up the pinfall and winning the title. After the match, AJ seemed a little annoyed at Kaitlyn's victory, but ultimately celebrated with her.
*Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter d. Dolph Ziggler by Submission to Win the World Heavyweight Championship The Real American Jack Swagger had earned a World Heavyweight Championship match by winning a Fatal Fourway match on an episode of Smackdown, setting him on a collision course with Dolph Ziggler. Swagger targeted Ziggler's ankle during the build, injuring it on an episode of Raw with the famous "Pillmanizing" spot of locking it in a Steel Chair and stomping on it. Ziggler came into the match injured, and struggled in the early going, but nearly pulled out an upset with a surprise Superkick to the United States Champion followed by a Fameasser. A timely distraction from Zeb Colter stopped the referee from counting the fall. Swagger used the distraction to grab the injured ankle of Ziggler a second time and lock him in the Patriot Lock in the center of the ring, eventually dropping down and hooking a grapevine on the leg for added leverage and eventually forcing the Show Off to tap out, winning the World Heavyweight Title and becoming a double champion.
*CM Punk w/Paul Heyman d. The Rock by Submission to Retain the WWE Championship The Rock had attacked CM Punk following the long running champion's Survivor Series title defense against Randy Orton, signaling his intentions for challenging for the top title after over a decade since he was last champion. Punk at first denied him the title shot, but assistant GM Mick Foley (filling in for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon that day) ordered Punk to defend the title as it would be a huge match for the Rumble Pay Per View. While Triple H surprisingly wasn't on board with the match, he eventually agreed to let it stand, adding the stipulation that the Shield, who had repeatedly interfered in Punk's matches, would be locked in a cage at ringside to prevent their interference. During the match, The Rock showed that he hadn't lost much of a step, but Punk was able to match him move for move. At one point, the referee was knocked out and dropped the keys to the shark cage at ringside. Paul Heyman attempted to use the keys to unlock the cage, but was stopped by Mick Foley, who KO'ed Heyman at ringside and guarded the cage himself. Punk came out to argue with Foley, but when he went back in the ring nearly lost the title after being hit with a Rock Bottom. The two wrestlers went back and forth and The Rock went for a People's Elbow, only for Punk to roll out of the way at the last moment and lock The Rock in the Anaconda Vise. Rock tried to fight out of the hold, but was eventually forced to tap out as CM Punk retained his title again, continuing his historic run.
*The Undertaker Won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match The star power on display in the Rumble match, combined with the uncertainty as to who would win, was a huge draw for the match this year. The match started with old rivals The Miz and Zack Ryder, and featured a bevy of returns such as The Godfather and X-Pac. John Cena was viewed by many to be the favorite going into the match, especially when he came in at #25. Cena came in like a house of fire, eliminating two people right off the bat, but was then suddenly distracted by Paul Heyman of all people (who had apparently been hiding under the ring since he had been knocked out by Mick Foley in the previous match). This distraction caused Cena to eat a Brogue Kick to the face, eliminating him from the match quickly much to his chagrin. The final two came down to Sheamus and The Undertaker, two Wrestlemania opponents who had met in the Rumble the year before when the Irishman unceremoniously dumped out the Phenom. It would be The Undertaker who got the better of the exchange this time, as he eventually ducked a Brogue Kick from Sheamus and then clotheslined him out of the ring to win his 2nd Rumble match, and punch his ticket to Wrestlemania. Undertaker then saluted the crowd and celebrated to close the show.

*The Rhodes Scholars [Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow] d. Team Hell No [Kane & Daniel Bryan] by Disqualification to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles For the first time since they had lost the titles, Team Hell No were granted a straight up rematch against The Rhodes Scholars for the titles. As with the previous encounter between the two teams, Rhodes and Sandow were reduced to using underhanded tactics in order to gain a victory. However, complicating matters early on was the presence of Tons O'Funk at ringside, who were there to act as unofficial enforcers for the champions. This would come back to bite the challengers though, after the original referee was knocked out. Rhodes and Sandow attempted to use the tag titles to their advantage, only for Brodus Clay to stop them and he and his partner to knock out the champions with their own title belts. A second official came running down to make the fall, and for a brief moment it appeared that Daniel Bryan and Kane had regained the titles. But the original official had seen the interference from the super heavyweights, and disqualified Team Hell No instead. Afterwards, Team Hell No and Tons O'Funk began brawling with each other, requiring officials to come out and break up the fight.
*Chris Jericho d. Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Big E Langston & The Miz in an Elimination Chamber Match to Win the World Heavyweight Championship The World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match featured several former champions as well as the impressive former NXT Champion in Big E Langston. Big E and Chris Jericho would start the match and would impressively fend off all challengers as the match eventually filled up with all six competitors. Jack Swagger, the defending champion, would actually be the first man eliminated by Dolph Ziggler. The match however would come down to The Miz and Chris Jericho, after The Miz snuck up from behind on Ziggler and hit a Skull Crushing Finale on the Chamber's steel floor on the outside. Miz was the fresher man versus Jericho, but the veteran was able to fight out of another attempted Skull Crushing Finale and hit the Codebreaker instead, before locking the A-Lister in the Lion Tamer (the elevated version of the Walls of Jericho) and picking up the Submission victory and his first ever World Heavyweight Title in the process. - Chris Jericho and Big E Langston started at numbers 1 and 2 respectively. - Kofi Kingston entered at number 3. - Jack Swagger entered at number 4. - Dolph Ziggler entered at number 5. - The Miz entered at number 6. - Dolph Ziggler d. Jack Swagger by Pinfall - Big E Langston d. Kofi Kingston by Pinfall - Dolph Ziggler d. Big E Langston by Pinfall - The Miz d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall - Chris Jericho d. The Miz by Submission WINNER: Chris Jericho
*Roman Reigns w/Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose d. The Big Show w/Randy Orton by Pinfall to Win the United States Title After winning the World Heavyweight Title, Jack Swagger had bequeathed the United States Title to a "Real American Hero" in Zeb Colter, only for assistant General Manager Mick Foley to order Colter to defend the title in The Big Show, resulting in the Giant easily winning his third US Title in under a minute on an episode of Smackdown. The Giant had recently begun feuding with the Shield, who were continuing to run of terror throughout WWE. In order to combat the numbers advantage, Show sought the aide of Randy Orton in his corner to counteract Rollins and Ambrose. This would backfire though, as during a melee between all the participants Ambrose through a handful of salt into the eyes of the Viper before eating a Right Hand of Doom from the champion. A blinded Orton though then delivered an RKO to The Big Show, which stunned him long enough for him to be hit by a massive spear from Reigns after staggering to his feet. The referee then came to his senses and made the count, giving Reigns the upset win and the Shield its first taste of gold in WWE.
*Wade Barrett w/Aksana d. Mark Henry to Retain the Intercontinental Title The World's Strongest Man had made his return to WWE shortly after the Royal Rumble, targeting the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett in the process. The two strongmen clashed with each other, neither giving an inch, and it appeared that the former World Champion would have the better of the encounter, but was distracted by Aksana briefly. This bought Barrett enough time to KO Henry with the Bullhammer to pick up the win.
*AJ Lee Won a Divas Battle Royal to Become #1 Contender to the Divas Title WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon instituted a Divas Battle Royal to crown a new #1 contender to the Divas Championship for Wrestlemania. The battle royal came down to Natalya and AJ Lee, who had a decent competition between them before AJ was able to backdrop Natalya over the top rope and earn a rematch against Kaitlyn. The two friends met in the center ring as Kaitlyn attempted to shake AJ's hand. The two appeared to be friendly with each other before AJ suddenly clotheslined Kaitlyn in the middle of the ring. She then took the Divas Title belt and smashed it across the skull of Kaitlyn before posing over the prone champion's body.
*CM Punk d. John Cena, Alberto del Rio, Sheamus, Zack Ryder & Antonio Cesaro in an Elimination Chamber Match to Retain the WWE Championship John Cena entered the Elimination Chamber looking for redemption and to finally recapture the WWE Championship from long running champion CM Punk. This was after he had been screwed out of the Royal Rumble by Punk's manager Paul Heyman. When Cena confronted Punk about the interference, though, Punk insisted that he had nothing to do with it. This proved to be true after Cena entered the Chamber match, as no sooner did he step out of the POD than did Brock Lesnar's music hit. The Beast Incarnate marched to the ring and literally ripped the door of the Chamber off its hinges, attacking John Cena and leaving him lying with an F5 before leaving. Punk then took advantage and got the quick pinfall on Cena, officially eliminating him. The match came down to Punk and, surprisingly enough, Zack Ryder. Ryder gave everything he had, and the crowd rallied around him trying to will him to victory, coming unglued after he hit a Ruff Ryder and got a near fall on Punk. However Punk was eventually able to catch him in midair and hit a GTS to pick up the win and retain his title again. As Punk celebrated though, the lights went down. When they came back up with a familiar gong, The Undertaker stood in the middle of the ring. Taker then chokeslammed Punk and posed with the WWE Title, the main event of Wrestlemania 29 having been set to close the show. - Alberto del Rio and Antonio Cesaro started #1 and #2 respectively - CM Punk entered at #3 - Zack Ryder entered at #4 - John Cena entered at #5 - CM Punk d. John Cena by Pinfall - Sheamus entered at #6 - Antonio Cesaro d. Alberto del Rio by Pinfall - Sheamus d. Antonio Cesaro by Pinfall - CM Punk d. Sheamus by Submission - CM Punk d. Zack Ryder by Pinfall Winner: CM Punk

*Sami Zayn d. Tyson Kidd by Pinfall The indie sensation Sami Zayn made his debut against the former North American Champion, defeating him in a competitive match with a Helluva Kick in the corner.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper & Erick Rowan] d. Corey Graves & Curt Hawkins by Pinfall to Retain the NXT World Tag Team Titles In a standard title defense, The Wyatt Family continued their run of dominance, defeating the makeshift team of Corey Graves and Curt Hawkins to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles.
*Paige d. Charlotte w/Ric Flair by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Women's Title The daughter of the legendary Ric Flair, Charlotte proved to be the toughest challenge to Paige's run as NXT Women's Champion to date. Yet the Anti-Diva proved to have the upper hand despite Charlotte having her father in her corner, surviving an attempt at the Figure 8 and eventually hitting the Rampaige on Charlotte for the pinfall victory.
*Noah Kassidy d. Tyler Breeze by Submission to Win the NXT North American Title The newest member of the Wyatt Family in Noah Kassidy had little difficulty in capturing the NXT North American Title from Prince Pretty, locking him in the Kassidy Clutch for the victory.
*Bray Wyatt d. Judas Devlin by Pinfall in a Loser Leaves NXT Match Judas Devlin had begun as a member of the cult-like Wyatt Family, but had broken free of their control in recent weeks, leading to him challenging the cult leader to a Loser Leaves NXT match, summizing that decapitating the head of the family would mean its end. Unfortunately he was unable to withstand the interference of the Wyatt Family at ringside, and Bray eventually hit him with the Sister Abigail to pick up the win and banish his wayward disciple.
*Bo Dallas d. Drew McIntyre to Win the NXT Championship Former NXT Tag Champion Bo Dallas had earned the right to challenge Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship by winning a Round Robin tournament over the course of several weeks. After a back and forth matchup, Dallas eventually hit a bulldog off the top rope to pick up the win and capture his first NXT Championship. As he celebrated though, the lights went out and suddenly Dallas was surrounded by the Wyatt Family, including his real life brother (and former tag team partner) Bray Wyatt. The Family attacked the new champion and left him lying in the ring before posing together with all the gold to close out the show.

WWE Wrestlemania XXIX April 7, 2013 MetLife Stadium East Rutherford, NJ
*Team Hell No [Daniel Bryan & Kane] d. Tons 'O Funk [Brodus Clay & A-Train] and Team Rhodes Scholars [Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow] to Win the WWE World Tag Team Titles Shortly after they inadvertantly cost Team Hell No the Tag Team Titles, Tons 'o Funk had won the titles themselves on an episode of Raw. A subsequent match between the two teams the following week on Smackdown was interrupted by the former champions, The Rhodes Scholars, leading to Triple H making a triple threat match to kick off Wrestlemania. The champions were taken out early by a tentative alliance between the other two teams, allowing the Rhodes Scholars and Kane & Bryan to focus on each other. Sandow and Rhodes worked over Kane's knee, only for Daniel Bryan to save his partner and clean house. Before the self-professed GOAT could finish them off, Brodus Clay came back in and cleared out everyone, before eating a chokeslam from Kane. Rhodes looked to use the tag title belt again, only to eat a running knee from Bryan, who then used the tag title belt to hit both Sandow and A-Train, knocking them out and then hitting a diving headbutt on Rhodes to pick up the win and regain the titles.
*Sheamus d. Alberto del Rio & Antonio Cesaro by Pinfall to Become #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship A second triple threat match had been made for Wrestlemania between three top contenders who had interacted with each other in the Elimination Chamber, with the winner receiving a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the next "Premium Live Event", Extreme Rules. Cesaro took control early on by hitting a Giant Swing on both Sheamus and del Rio simultaneously, amazing the crowd, but was eventually taken out by the Mexican Aristocrat, who smashed his arm into the steel ring steps and took out his deceptive strength. Sheamus however eventually was able to come back and take out both the Swiss Superman and the Mexican Aristocrat, hitting Del Rio with a Brogue Kick and picking up the victory and title shot.
*Mark Henry d. Curtis Axel by Pinfall Curtis Axel had shown up on the go-home episode of Raw, demanding that a third generation star of his magnitude receive a match at Wrestlemania and issuing an open challenge for the show. The challenge was answered by the World's Strongest Man, leading to this standard last minute singles match. Despite Axel attacking Henry before the bell rang, the Strongman hit the World's Strongest Slam in under 2 minutes to pick up the win in dominating fashion.
*The Shield [Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins] d. The Big Show, Randy Orton & Big E Langston by Pinfall The Shield had remained unstoppable since their debut the previous fall, and had feuded on and off with both Randy Orton and The Big Show in recent months. Despite not trusting each other, Show and Orton had recruited Big E Langston to form a formidable group to try and take out the Hounds of Justice. Unfortunately the Shield was too well oiled a machine, as miscommunication between the faces led to Show abandoning Orton and Langston, leaving Big E to eat a Paradigm Shift from Dean Ambrose, who picked up the win.
*Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman d. John Cena by Pinfall After dealing with a year-long slump, John Cena had entered 2013 looking for redemption by winning the Royal Rumble. This was thwarted by, of all people, Paul Heyman. When Cena confronted WWE Champion CM Punk about this, Punk denied telling Paul to cost him the Rumble match. When Cena entered the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship the following month, it became clear that he was dealing with Brock Lesnar, who proceeded to lay out Big Match John before casually leaving. Heyman made clear that Lesnar blamed Cena for the DQ loss he suffered in his first official match back in April, and that he was looking to "wipe the red from his ledger," as Lesnar challenged Cena to a No Holds Barred match. Cena responded by seemingly snapping on Lesnar, at one point choking him out in a parking lot with a lead pipe and being arrested after assaulting security officers who tried to pull him off the Beast Incarnate. The two men had a brutal match that saw Cena come to the ring in his old Doctor of Thuganomics persona. Cena tried to choke out Lesnar again with the STF, aided by a steel chain, but Lesnar powered out. This did little more than piss off Lesnar, who removed his gloves and busted open Cena hardway with harsh elbow strikes. In the end, Lesnar hit three consecutive F-5's to send a message and pick up the big win, leaving Cena bloodied and questioning what to do going forward.
*Zack Ryder d. Wade Barrett w/Aksana by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title Zack Ryder had come within a hair's breadth of becoming WWE Champion back at Elimination Chamber, and had followed up that performance by defeating Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett in a non-title match on Smackdown. Barrett returned the favor by brutally attacking the Broski on Raw, leading to this match. Barrett was able to hit the Bullhammer on Ryder, but Zack was able to get his foot on the bottom rope to break up the pin. As Barrett argued with the referee, Ryder got back to his feet and dodged a second Bullhammer. Ryder then hit 2 successive Ruff Ryder's to pick up the win and his first Intercontinental Championship.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter, Chris Jericho & The Miz by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho had won his first World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber. His challenger was hard to determine, as the three previous World Champions all competed in a triple threat match on Smackdown that ended in a No Contest due to a pull apart brawl breaking out between all three men. This led Assistant General Manager Mick Foley to make a Fatal Fourway match for Wrestlemania for the title. Swagger seemingly had an advantage with Zeb Colter in his corner, but the referee quickly caught Colter interfering on his client's behalf and ejected him from ringside. While Swagger and Ziggler fought on the outside towards the end, Jericho and Miz fought in the middle of the ring, which ended with Jericho reversing a Skull Crushing Finale into the Walls of Jericho. Miz looked ready to tap, only to be saved by Swagger, who quickly locked Jericho in the Patriot Lock. However Ziggler took out the Real American with a Superkick and then followed up with a Zig Zag to get the victory and regain the World Heavyweight Title.
*Triple H d. The Rock by Pinfall in a Career vs. Career Match The night after the Royal Rumble, The Rock had come out to challenge WWE Champion CM Punk to a rematch. However he was answered by WWE COO Triple H, who said that Rock could no longer "make matches whenever he felt like it." The two went down their history, and the segment ended with The Rock delivering a Rock Bottom to the Game after feigning a handshake of respect. Triple H would then challenge The Rock to a match at Wrestlemania, ultimately leading to a confrontation that saw The Rock accidentally hit Triple H's own wife Stephanie with a clothesline. Hunter responded by firing Rock's friend, assistant General Manager Mick Foley. Eventually the stipulation came down that both men would put their in-ring career on the line in the match. Much like the matches they had years prior, the two old rivals matched each other move for move. Their were several callbacks to their prior matches, including The Rock nearly winning early on with a Small Package (as he had won the IC Title from years prior) as well as Triple H bringing a Ladder into the equation against The Rock. In the end, The Rock hit a Spinebuster and went for a People's Elbow, only for Stephanie to dive onto her husband in an attempt to save him. Rock stopped the move and looked like he would hit Stephanie with a Rock Bottom, only for Triple H to hit him with a low blow. Triple H then hit a sledge hammer shot to the skull of The Rock and followed up with the Pedigree to pick up the win and keep his own in-ring career in tact.
*AJ Lee d. Kaitlyn by Submission to Win the Divas Title The friendship between AJ Lee and Kaitlyn had splintered in the face of the Divas Championship, as AJ attacked Kaitlyn after winning a #1 contenders battle royal at Elimination Chamber. The two then traded victories in tag matches over the course of several weeks in the build to Wrestlemania. The match between the two was surprisingly short, but both women availed themselves well. In the end, AJ won by catching Kaitlyn in the Black Widow, picking up the submission victory and regaining the Divas Title.
*The Undertaker d. CM Punk w/Paul Heyman by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship The build between The Undertaker and CM Punk to Wrestlemania was altered significantly by the sudden real life death of William Moody, the man who had played the Undertaker's longtime manager Paul Bearer. Punk used the death to play psychological games with the Undertaker (even going so far as to steal an urn from the Undertaker that supposedly contained Bearer's ashes), as well as pointing out that his single current reign was longer than all of the Undertaker's reigns as champion combined. In the match itself, Punk came very close to ending the vaunted streak of the Undertaker, hitting an elbow drop through the announce table as well as locking in the Anaconda Vise. Undertaker though countered all of Punk's offense in the end, hitting Paul Heyman with a Chokeslam for good measure as well. Punk went for the GTS at the end of the match only for the Phenom to fight out of the move and hit a Tombstone and get the pinfall, ending Punk's historic reign. Undertaker then celebrated with the title and the urn as the screen read 21-0 for his vaunted streak to close the show.

*Fandango w/Summer Rae d. Brodus Clay w/A-Train by Pinfall The night after Wrestlemania 29 saw the debut of the ball room dancer Fandango in the WWE. The dancing fool naturally drew the attention of another dancer in Brodus Clay, and after dismissing the Funkasaurus' attempts at friendhsip, the two engaged in a brief feud that concluded at Extreme Rules. Clay's weight and power was able to dominate early on, but a quick strike to the knee of the former tag champion was enough to turn the match in the favor of Fandango, who eventually hit a swinging neckbreaker called the Last Dance to pick up the win.
*Roman Reigns d. Big E Langston in a Strap Match to Retain the United States Title On the Smackdown preceding Wrestlemania, Big E Langston became one of the only people to achieve a pinfall victory over a member of the Shield, defeating the United States champion clean. He then faced him in a title match the following week, which he won by countout, leading to Big E facing Reigns in a title rematch, this time in a Strap Match to ensure there would be a winner. Despite the best efforts of the strongman, Reigns eventually hit a Spear on Big E and was able to drag him around the ring long enough to touch all 4 corners in succession, earning the victory and retaining his title in a hard fought match.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Sheamus by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Sheamus (having dropped the "King" title from his name) had earned a title shot by way of winning a triple threat match at Wrestlemania. In a standard title defense, Sheamus was almost able to end the title reign of Dolph Ziggler prematurely, hitting a Brogue Kick for a near fall. Ziggler barely got his shoulders up and then made a comeback, hitting a Superkick followed by a splash in the corner before following up with a Zig Zag for the win and title retention.
*The Shield [Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] d. Team Hell No [Kane & Daniel Bryan] by Pinfall in a Tornado Rules Tag Match to Win the WWE World Tag Team Titles Team Hell No resumed their feud with The Shield with this match, defending their newly won tag team titles against Ambrose and Rollins in a Tornado Rules match, which meant every person would be in the ring at the same time. Kane managed to hit a Chokeslam on Ambrose, but Rollins was able to dive from the top rope with a frogsplash to make the save. Ambrose returned the favor when Rollins was locked in the LeBell Lock. In the end, Bryan followed up by trying to lock Ambrose in the same submission, but Rollins hit a Curb Stomp, knocking out the GOAT. The Architect then dove to the outside, taking out Kane while Ambrose rolled over and made the pin, picking up the victory.
*Zack Ryder d. Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow in a Triple Threat Match to Retain the Intercontinental Title After losing their opportunity at the tag team titles, both Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow set their sights on winning the IC Title from Zack Ryder, leading to this triple threat match. At first it looked as if the Rhodes Scholars would successfully double team Ryder to victory, but eventually dissension in the ranks settled in, resulting in Ryder being able to pit the two tag partners against each other, eventually rolling up Sandow to pick up the win. Sandow and Rhodes continued to argue after the match, but ultimately left ringside together.
*Antonio Cesaro d. Mark Henry in a Last Man Standing Match Both Antonio Cesaro and Mark Henry had attempted to qualify for the 8 Man Elimination Match for the Vacant WWE Title, with both men costing the other their qualifying matches, leading to a Last Man Standing match between the two. Cesaro showcased his inhuman strength, executing a Giant Swing on the World's Strongest Man, but Henry nearly got the win after executing the World's Strongest Slam through an announce table. In the end Cesaro barely got to his feet at 8 and then delivered three stiff chair shots to Mark Henry, before delivering a final one to the head that broke the chair and knocked him out, giving the Swiss Superman the win.
*AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka d. Kaitlyn & Layla by Pinfall AJ Lee and Kaitlyn were each tasked with picking mystery partners for this match. Kaitlyn chose former Divas champion Layla, while AJ Lee picked another former champion in Tamina Snuka. The Second Generation Star proved to be the decisive one in this tag match, as she easily dominated both Kaitlyn and Layla, pinning the latter after hitting a huge Samoan drop from the second rope.
*Randy Orton d. CM Punk w/Paul Heyman, The Big Show, The Miz, Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter, Chris Jericho, Alberto del Rio & Wade Barrett w/Aksana in an 8 Man Elimination Match to Win the Vacant WWE Championship The night after Wrestlemania, newly crowned WWE Champion The Undertaker announced that he was voluntarily vacating the WWE Championship and that he was finally going to "rest in peace", effectively retiring as an active competitor. WWE COO Triple H announced that an 8 Man Elimination match would take place at Extreme Rules, with several qualifying matches in the build, for the vacant title. Interestingly enough neither John Cena nor Brock Lesnar were included, as Cena took some time off to "find himself" while Lesnar wasn't interested in titles (yet, according to his advocate Paul Heyman). The match would ultimately come down to the former champion, CM Punk, and his old rival Randy Orton. Punk looked like he would win after setting up the Viper for the GTS, but Orton managed to fight out of the move and hit the RKO to pick up the win and take the WWE Title to end the show.
