WWE Night of Champions September 15, 2013 Joe Louis Arena Detroit, MI
*Damien Sandow w/Ricardo Rodriguez d. Cody Rhodes & Alberto del Rio in a Triple Threat Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Title World Heavyweight Champion Damien Sandow was facing challenges to his title reign from two different angles. The first was from his former tag team partner, Cody Rhodes, who felt he had been cheated out of the title the previous month at Summerslam. The second was from the Mexican Aristocrat Alberto del Rio, who was cost a match against his former friend. This led to Sandow defending his title in a Triple Threat match. Rodriguez attempted to help his new employer, but was quickly taken out of the equation by a Cross Rhodes from Cody following an enziguiri from del Rio. Sandow fended off both challengers, picking his spots and trying to defend his title while Rhodes and del Rio fought it out between themselves. In the end, Del Rio locked Rhodes in the Cross Armbreaker, and it appeared Cody was ready to tap, only for Sandow to dive in and break up the hold. Sandow then tossed del Rio out of the ring and hit the You're Welcome! on Rhodes to pick up the win and retain his title.
*Big E Langston d. Antonio Cesaro by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Antonio Cesaro had answered an open challenge offered by Big E Langston for the United States Title for Night of Champions, leading to a match between the two young stars. After a long back and forth match between the two men, Langston was able to put Cesaro away with the Big Ending to retain his title. Afterwards, Cesaro appeared distraught, but would be visited by Paul Heyman in his locker room.
*The Shield [Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] d. The Prime Time Players [Titus O'Neill & Darren Young], The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso], Tons 'o Funk [Brodus Clay & A-Train], The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] & Los Matadores [Diego & Fernando] in a Tag Team Turmoil Match to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles In a standard Gauntlet Match, The Shield took on every single named tag team in the WWE landscape and held their own, successfully running the gauntlet and last eliminating The Usos from the match after Ambrose hit a Paradigm Shift on Jimmy Uso to pick up the victory.
*AJ Lee w/Tamina Snuka d. Natalya w/Kaitlyn by Submission to Retain the Divas Title Natalya had taken the side of Kaitlyn shortly after Kaitlyn was denied any further title challenges after Summerslam, with the former Divas champion promising Kaitlyn a title match if she stood in her corner to counter Tamina Snuka. The match was made a Submission Match to highlight the two women's technical prowess, and in the end Kaitlyn's presence was able to nullify Tamina's, but AJ was still able to hook in the Black Widow on Natalya and walk away with the victory.
*Roman Reigns w/The Shield d. Randy Orton by Pinfall The night after Summerslam, when John Cena explained that he had turned on the fans because "the fans turned on him," agreeing to become the "Corporate Franchise" of the Authority, Randy Orton took offense at what Cena and Triple H had done to Daniel Bryan. Orton challenged Cena to a match that night on Raw, only for the Viper to be triple teamed by the Authority's new muscle, The Shield. This led to Orton facing Roman Reigns in a one on one match. Orton was more than a match for the young rookie, but the numbers game proved to be too difficult for the Viper to overcome, as a distraction from Rollins on the outside led to Reigns hitting a Spear on Orton and getting the upset victory. After the match, Orton was triple power bombed through the Spanish announce table and left to be taken out on a stretcher due to his injuries.
*The Miz d. Rob Van Dam by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title RVD had turned back the hands of time and won his 5th Intercontinental Title at Summerslam. While celebrating on an episode of Miz TV, Van Dam got into an argument with The Miz (another multiple time IC Champion) who called Van Dam an old fogie who wouldn't get out of the way of younger stars like himself. When Miz pointed out that both of Van Dam's world title reigns were a week or less, RVD himself pointed out that he didn't have a title reign "that lasted less than 6 hours", nearly bringing the two to blows and setting up this title match. Van Dam's athletic ability was easily enough to overwhelm Miz for the most part. However, Miz used trickery to gain the upper hand, utilizing a knee brace that he had been wearing (for a more than dubious injury sustained a month earlier) to knock RVD out with a Shining Wizard. RVD was able to counter and regain control, going for the 5 Star Frogsplash, only for Miz to get the knee brace into the midsection of the champion. Miz then hit the Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the pin and win the title.
*Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman d. CM Punk by Pinfall in a Handicap Match CM Punk continued to try and gain some revenge on his former manager Paul Heyman, taking on both Heyman and his other protege, Curtis Axel, in a Handicap Match. While Punk dealt with Axel quickly, seemingly cornering Heyman. However the agent was saved by Antonio Cesaro, who came out and attacked Punk in this No Disqualification match, hitting him with the Zurich Bomb and allowing Heyman to pick up the humiliating pinfall over his former client.
*John Cena d. Daniel Bryan by 'Submission' to Retain the WWE Championship At Summerslam, Triple H had turned on Daniel Bryan by hitting him with the Pedigree right after he had won the WWE Title. Triple H then cleared the way for John Cena to cash-in his Money in the Bank contract, with Cena turning heel in the process. Cena explained the following night on Raw that the fans had turned on him over the years, and he was going to be "the hero you didn't know you really needed", calling himself the Franchise of the WWE. While Bryan had been banned from the building that night on Raw, he returned on Smackdown and demanded his contractual rematch for Night of Champions (despite Stephanie McMahon patronizingly calling him a "B+ Player"). Bryan was easily able to outwrestle Cena in their rematch, even getting him to tap out when the referee was distracted by Triple H on the outside. At the end of the match though, Cena locked Bryan in the STF. While Bryan never tapped out, the referee (played by former NXT tag champion Brad Maddox) called for the bell apparently at Stephanie McMahon's order, effectively screwing Bryan out of the title again. Triple H and Cena, along with the Shield, tried to attack Bryan after the bell, but Bryan was saved by the Big Red Machine Kane, who came to his former tag partner's aid to close the show.

Note: Batista comes back earlier in this timeline to allow for a proper build for a couple of feuds in his final long run with the company, including a long gestating match at Mania.WWE Battleground October 6, 2013 First Niagara Center Buffalo, NY
*Damien Sandow w/Ricardo Rodriguez d. Alberto del Rio Via Forefit to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Damien Sandow was originally scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto del Rio, but Sandow's personal ring announcer had attacked the Mexican Aristocrat on the pre-show with a steel pipe to the knee, forcing him to withdraw from the match due to injury. Sandow still made a big show of coming out and demanding that he be declared the winner via forefit, and then issued a challenge to any former World Champion to come to the ring for an impromptu title match. To Sandow's shock and the WWE's amazement, The Animal Batista (who was originally scheduled to return the following night on Raw) made his way to the ring.
*Batista d. Damien Sandow w/Ricardo Rodriguez by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Batista wasted no time in laying waste to the World Heavyweight Champion, despite Ricardo Rodriguez attacking the Animal before the bell. Batista delivered a stiff spinebuster to both the champion and his personal ring announcer before delivering a thunderous Batista Bomb to Sandow and pinning him to amazingly become World Champion in under a minute.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper & Erick Rowan] w/Noah Kassidy d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Pinfall The Usos had attempted to earn a future shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles, only to be interrupted by the Wyatt Family, who were continuing to run rampant on the WWE. Harper and Rowan, the main tag team of the grouping, were initially caught off guard by the tandem tactics of the Usos. But a timely distraction from Noah Kassidy on the outside provided the opening for the larger Rowan to take control, eventually hitting a huge shoulderbreaker on Jimmy while Harper took out Jey with the Discus Lariat to pick up the win.
*Big E Langston d. Tyson Kidd w/Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title The Real Americans had formed as a tag team between Jack Swagger and noted Canadian Tyson Kidd. Kidd had renounced his Canadian citizenship (going so far as to change his hometown to the rival town of whatever city the team happened to be wrestling in that night). Kidd attempted to solidify his standing as a Real American by winning the United States Title from Big E Langston. Despite Kidd's best attempts, and outside interference from Swagger and Zeb Colter, Big E still managed to pull out a win by hitting the ex-Canadian with a Big Ending.
*Lita w/Trish Stratus d. AJ Lee w/Tamina Snuka by Disqualification [AJ Lee Retains The Divas Title] Trish Stratus, a native of nearby Toronto, appeared at Battleground to announce the attendance figures for the show. However she was quickly confronted by current Divas Champion AJ Lee and her bodyguard Tamina Snuka. AJ derided Trish as "over the hill" and challenged her to a title match right then and there. Trish declined, citing her status as a Hall of Famer, but did offer a reasonable substitute in the form of fellow legend Lita. The Extreme Diva pushed AJ to the limit in the impromptu match, forcing Tamina to get involved to save her employer's title, resulting in a DQ win for the legend. Before AJ and Tamina could do any more damage, Lita and Trish were saved by the Bella Twins, who came to their aide.
*Bray Wyatt d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall The Smackdown after Night of Champions saw former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler appear for the first time since losing the title at Money in the Bank. Any chance he had of challenging Damien Sandow for the title, though, was ended when Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family appeared. At first Bray offered Ziggler a chance to join the Family, which Ziggler declined by superkicking Bray and running away from the cult leader. Wyatt returned the favor first by sending Noah Kassidy after Ziggler (a match which Ziggler won) before challenging Dolph himself for his "impudence." Much like he had with Chris Jericho, Bray Wyatt dominated the former World Champion, eventually pinning him with relative ease after a single Sister Abigail's Kiss.
*Antonio Cesaro w/Paul Heyman d. CM Punk by Disqualification Antonio Cesaro had joined with Paul Heyman as the latest "Paul Heyman guy" at Night of Champions, attacking CM Punk during Punk's handicap match agaisnt Curtis Axel and Heyman, and causing the Second City Saint to be humiliated by being pinned by his former manager. Punk looked to get even with Cesaro, but was sidetracked again by Heyman when the manager began bringing up several personal items about Punk's past, most notably dealing with his family. Cesaro tried to take advantage of Punk's anger, but Punk disregarded his opponent and simply went after Heyman. Eventually the match spilled out of control, and the referee disqualified Punk when he used a steel chair on both Heyman and Cesaro before standing tall over the pair.
*Daniel Bryan d. Brad Maddox, Mark Henry, Wade Barrett, The Big Show, The Miz, Kane & John Cena in a Gauntlet Match to Earn a Shot at the WWE Championship After Daniel Bryan had "submitted" at Night of Champions in his title match with John Cena, he approached the official of the night, Brad Maddox, and forced him to admit that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had paid him to screw Bryan Montreal style. However, due to him "assaulting a WWE official", Bryan was suspended by McMahon and taken out of any title picture. In order to be reinstated, Bryan would have to run a gauntlet of 7 WWE superstars. The first two, Brad Maddox and The Miz, Bryan made it through with little difficulty. Mark Henry was disqualified after he delivered the World's Strongest Slam to Bryan, but this set the table for Wade Barrett to try and finish off Daniel. Bryan however caught the British Bull with a Baiketsu Knee, getting another pinfall. The 5th opponent was Kane, who was threatened with being fired if he took a dive against his former tag partner. Kane fought an even match with an exhausted Bryan, but Daniel dodged an attempted Chokeslam and rolled up Kane for another victory. As The Big Show came down to ringside, Kane felt he had fulfilled his end of the bargain with the Authority and attacked the Giant, forcing him to be counted out. Bryan's final opponent was the WWE Champion himself, John Cena. Cena nearly won the match with an Attitude Adjustment, but delayed hitting the move to taunt to the rowdy fans. This gave Bryan just enough time to reverse the move into the LeBell Lock and force the Champion to tap out, giving Bryan the improbable win.
*The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] w/Dusty Rhodes d. The Shield [Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns] in a 3 on 2 Handicap Match to Win the WWE World Tag Team Titles Cody Rhodes had helped Daniel Bryan on an episode of Raw, leading to the Authority deciding that Cody "had no future in WWE" and firing him on the spot as an example. Goldust attempted to win back his brother's job in a match with the Big Show, but Show hit the Right Hand of Doom on the former IC Champion, causing Dustin to get fired as well. WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes appealed to Triple H (ignoring Stephanie by putting his hand in her face to silence her during his appeal), putting his own career as GM of NXT and a WWE Hall of Famer on the line to get his sons reinstated, if they could win a 3 on 2 Handicap Match against the Shield for the tag titles. The Shield had the numbers advantage throughout, and kept on both Cody and Goldust, isolating the latter. Cody eventually made the hot tag though and cleared house, only to take a Spear for his father when Roman made a bee line towards Dusty at ringside. The Shield attempted a triple powerbomb onto Cody, but Goldust came back and made the save, taking out Rollins to the outside and then fighting with Reigns. Cody then hit the Cross Rhodes on Ambrose to pick up the win, reinstating the Rhodes, winning the tag titles, and handing the Authority a black eye to close the show, as Daniel Bryan came out to celebrate with the Rhodes family.

*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper, Noah Kassidy, Erick Rowan & Bray Wyatt] d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso], Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston by Submission in an 8 Man Tag 4 WWE Superstars who had issues with the growing threat of the Wyatt Family challenged them in this standard 8 Man Tag. Bray Wyatt actually stayed on the outside of the ring, despite being an official member of the match, effectively leaving his family to fend for themselves. This worked for the most part until Big E Langston got the hot tag, clearing the field of the other three members of the Family. Big E then went after Wyatt on the outside, but Wyatt easily deflected his hard charging offense, darting out of the way when Langston attempted to spear him through the barricade on the outside and leaving him unconscious on the floor. This allowed Kassidy to hit a Full Nelson Slam on Ziggler and then lock in the Kassidy Clutch on the Show Off to get the victory.
*The Bella Twins [Brie & Nikki Bella] d. AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka by Pinfall After The Bella Twins confronted the team of AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka earlier in the month at Battleground, they had entered a feud with the Divas Champion and her bodyguard. Tamina controlled much of the match for her employer, but AJ insisted on tagging in to get the pinfall. However, Brie traded out her position with Nikki via twin magic, and when AJ went in to pin the fallen Bella, Brie rolled up the champion in a small package and got the shock win.
*The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] w/Zeb Colter d. Rey Mysterio & R-Truth by Pinfall In a standard tag team match, The Real Americans managed to stake their claim to a future challenge for the World Tag Team Titles, as Swagger pinned R-Truth following a Swagger Bomb in the corner while Tyson Kidd took out Rey Mysterio on the outside.
*CM Punk d. Antonio Cesaro & Curtis Axel w/Paul Heyman in a 2 on 1 Handicap Hell in a Cell Match CM Punk looked to finish his feud with his former manager Paul Heyman by taking on both of the "paul Heyman Guys" in Curtis Axel and Antonio Cesaro inside Hell in a Cell. The match had the additional stipulation that if Punk won, he would get 5 minutes alone in the Cell with Paul Heyman, as Heyman was handcuffed to the cell on the outside. The Handicap nature of the match gave the advantage to Cesaro and Axel early on, as they were able to double team Punk and use the Cell to beat him down repeatedly. However Axel was taken out by a hard Spear from Punk that drove him through the cell, making the match down to Cesaro and Punk briefly. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vise and nearly got the tap out, but Axel made the save at the last moment. However Axel eventually ate a GTS from Punk while Cesaro was still down, giving Punk the pinfall win. As Heyman was loaded into the Cell, Heyman pled with Cesaro to save him, only for Cesaro to shrug his shoulders and abandon Heyman to his fate, as Heyman was beaten from pillar to post by Punk for a good few minutes, before Axel finally came too and helped the nearly unconscious manager out of the Cell through the broken wall.
*The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] d. The Prime Time Players [Titus O'Neil & Darren Young] by Disqualification to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles The Prime Time Players had won a Gauntlet Match on Raw to earn a title shot at the newly crowned tag team champions The Rhodes Brothers. Though they no longer had their father at their side, the Rhodes had great teamwork, and they were able to hold off O'Neil and Young for the most part. However the match ended when The Shield made their presence felt, attacking both teams and causing the DQ win for the Rhodes. They then proceeded to Powerbomb both Goldust and Cody Rhodes through separate tables with their triple Powerbomb, trying to get revenge for the loss the suffered at Battleground.
*Batista d. Damien Sandow & Alberto del Rio in a Triple Threat Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Batista had shocked the world by returning at Battleground and handily defeating Damien Sandow for the World Heavyweight Championship. While Sandow was owed a rematch, the two men were joined by Alberto del Rio, the man whom Sandow had screwed out of a title shot the same night. Del Rio and Sandow set aside their differences briefly and tried to target The Animal as the bigger threat, but Batista put on a showcase of his power and eventually won the match, hitting Sandow with a Batista Bomb for the 1-2-3.
*The Miz d. Fandango w/Summer Rae by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title Fandango had upset the Miz on back to back episodes of Smackdown, pinning the champion twice in non-title contests to earn this title match. However the ballroom dancer ran out of luck against the IC Champion, as Miz caught Fandango with the Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the win.
*John Cena d. Daniel Bryan by Pinfall in a Hell in a Cell Match to Retain the WWE Championship After surviving the Gauntlet match at Battleground, Daniel Bryan was granted another title shot by The Authority inside Hell in a Cell to show that they "were always going to keep their word." However they also warned Bryan that if he lost, no further title shots would be forthcoming. Bryan went all out against the Face of the WWE, taking down the Corporate Champion and trying to win with his retinue of submission holds. However Cena was able to fight out and use the Cell environment to his advantage, hitting Bryan with several chair shots and shots to the cage wall. In the end, Cena was down and Bryan was setting up for his running knee finisher, when a cameraman got in the ring and suddenly hit Bryan over the head with his television camera. With Bryan down, the cameraman then delivered a Punt Kick to Bryan and removed his fake beard and sunglasses to reveal a returning Randy Orton. Orton glanced at Cena, who then scurried over and pinned Bryan for the title retention to a chorus of boos. However, before Orton and Cena could leave the ring, Batista walked down the aisle holding the World Heavyweight Title. Batista raised his own championship up in the air in the face of Cena, staring at the WWE Title belt and hinting at the title unification to come to close out the show.

NXT Arrival: Boston November 23, 2013 Agganis Arena Boston, MA
*Alexander Rusev w/Lana d. Sylvester LeFourt w/Marcus Louis by Submission The Bulgarian Brute Alexander Rusev had broken away from him tag team partner several weeks earlier, leading to this blow off match between the two. Rusev, who had adopted the persona of a now loyal Russian with his new manager Lana, easily bested LeFourt with his submission hold, renamed the Grozny Clutch.
*Tyler Breeze d. CJ Parker by Pinfall to Retain the North American Title Tyler Breeze had regained the North American championship from Adrian Neville on the Road to NXT Arrival, making his scheduled match with CJ Parker a title match. Prince Pretty had little difficulty with the environmental activist, hitting the Glamour Shot for the victory.
*Adam Rose d. Justin Gabriel by Pinfall The former Leo Kruger had debuted a new gimmick as party animal Adam Rose, accompanied to the ring by an entourage of "Rosebuds" to the ring. Rose had lost none of his ferocity in the ring though, besting the former Aerial Ace Justin Gabriel with the Exotic Express (a running splash in the corner) followed by the Party Favor (Hangman's Facebuster) to pick up the win.
*The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor] d. Enzo Amore & Big Cass by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles The big talking tag team of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy (who had been dubbed "Big Cass" by Amore) took on the long dominant tag team champions The Ascension. Konnor and Viktor were able to keep Cass out of the ring for the most part, eventually hitting Amore with the Fall of Man to retain their titles.
*Paige d. Sasha Banks & Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Match to Win the NXT Women's Title Paige's lengthy title reign had come to an abrupt end at the hands of Sasha Banks on an episode of NXT in October, setting up this rematch in Banks' hometown of Boston. However the title picture was complicated after Charlotte Flair defeated Banks in a non-title match, due to outside interference from Paige, leading to newly crowned NXT General Manager William Regal to make the match a Triple Threat contest. Paige played Sasha and Charlotte's rivalry off of one another, to the point where she was able to sneak in and hit the Paige Turner on Banks after Sasha had hit the Backstabber on Flair, picking up the win and regaining the gold.
*Bo Dallas d. Adrian Neville by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Then North American Champion Adrian Neville had set his sights on the NXT Title held by Bo Dallas several weeks earlier. Dallas had responded by costing the high flyer the North American title on an episode of NXT on the road to this title match. Both men were evenly matched in the early going, but the tide of the match turned when Dallas was able to knock Neville off the top rope and cause him to (kayfabe) blow out his knee. Dallas looked on concerned for a brief moment while the medical staff attended to Neville, before putting the boots to him and quickly pinning the injured star, obliviously celebrating retaining his title while Neville was checked on by ringside doctors.
*Antonio Cesaro d. Sami Zayn in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match Indie darling and former North American champion Sami Zayn had made it clear he was looking for the best competition in the world, leading to him issuing a challenge to anyone in WWE. This challenge was answered by Antonio Cesaro (much to the chagrin of Cesaro's then manager Paul Heyman, the final straw in the end of their relationship), leading to a Time Limit Draw on NXT television. A rematch was scheduled for the Arrival special, with NXT General Manager William Regal making the match 2 out of 3 Falls. Cesaro won the first fall with a rollup following a massive European Uppercut counter to a springboard move Sami had tried. Cesaro was unable to get a second fall right away, eventually leading to Sami hitting the Blue Thunder Bomb to even the score. After a lengthy back and forth, Cesaro dodged an attempt at a Helluva Kick, following up with the Zurich Bomb to pick up the third and decisive fall. After the match, Cesaro and Zayn shook hands and hugged each other as the crowd showed their appreciation for the excellent match.

*Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Rob Van Dam, Sheamus & Alberto del Rio d. The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd], The Miz, Wade Barrett & Ricardo Rodriguez in a Survivor Series Match - Sheamus d. Ricardo Rodriguez by Pinfall - Jack Swagger d. Rob Van Dam by Submission - Wade Barrett d. R-Truth by Pinfall - Rey Mysterio d. Tyson Kidd by Pinfall - Alberto del Rio was Counted Out - Sheamus d. Wade Barrett by Pinfall - Rey Mysterio d. Jack Swagger by Pinfall - Sheamus d. The Miz by Pinfall Survivors: Rey Mysterio & Sheamus
*Kane d. The Big Show by Pinfall Kane had been a thorn in the side of the Authority ever since Battleground, when after being defeated by his reluctant former tag partner Daniel Bryan, Kane had helped sabotage The Big Show's attempt to beat Bryan in the Gauntlet match. This had led to the two former rivals renewing their long standing feud with one another. In a slow-moving match, Big Show tried to finish off Kane early with the Right Hand of Doom, but Kane was able to attack the hand of the Big Show to nullify the Giant's power. In the end Kane managed to slam the 500 pounder and then delivered a flying clothesline from the top rope to win the match.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper & Erick Rowan] w/Bray Wyatt & Noah Kassidy d. Big E Langston & Kofi Kingston by Pinfall Big E Langston had continued his feud with the Wyatt Family, and was tasked with finding a tag partner to take on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. The partner he chose was Kofi Kingston (a prelude to the formation of the New Day tag team the following year), and though the pairing fared better than most against the Wyatt's, timely interference from Noah Kassidy on the outside allowed Harper to duck Kingston's Trouble in Paradise and nail him with a Discus Lariat, getting the win to the Wyatts.
*AJ Lee w/Tamina Snuka d. Brie Bella w/Nikki Bella by Submission to Retain the Divas Title As Brie Bella was warming up backstage, she and her sister Nikki were blind side attacked by Tamina Snuka, who smashed Brie's knee against a heavy equipment case and left her writhing in pain on the ground. Despite doctor's advice, Brie went out for her match against the Diva's Champion AJ Lee, but was clearly in no condition to fight. AJ had little difficulty in wrench Brie's knee early on and locking her in a Figure-4, forcing her to tap out. After the match, the Bellas were attacked by AJ and Tamina, only to be saved by a returning Kaitlyn.
*Kaitlyn d. AJ Lee w/Tamina Snuka by Pinfall in a Non-Title Match As Kaitlyn helped the Bellas to the back, Lee got on the microphone and challenged Kaitlyn to a match right then and there, though she made clear she wouldn't put the Divas Title on the line. Kaitlyn accepted and dodged a sneak attack from Tamina, allowing her to pin AJ in under a minute and a half to shock the champion.
*Antonio Cesaro & Curtis Axel w/Paul Heyman Wrestled to a No Contest After Antonio Cesaro had abandoned being a "Paul Heyman" guy, Heyman had attempted to sic his other client, Curtis Axel, on him. The Swiss Superman and the 3rd generation star brawled with each other into a Double Countout, continuing to fight into the back.
*Team Yes [Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Goldust & Dolph Ziggler] d. Team Authority [Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Damien Sandow] in a Survivor Series Match Randy Orton had returned to WWE at Hell in a Cell, turning heel and costing Daniel Bryan the WWE Title by joining the Authority. Bryan would then team with fellow "malcontents" CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and The Rhodes Brothers to form Team YES against The Authority, which consisted of Orton, The Shield, and former world champion Damien Sandow (the latter of whom had been made the new General Manager of WWE by The Authority). - Dolph Ziggler d. Damien Sandow by Pinfall - Cody Rhodes & Goldust Were Disqualified (by Sandow in his authority as GM) - CM Punk d. Dean Ambrose by Pinfall - Roman Reigns d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall - Daniel Bryan d. Seth Rollins by Submission - Roman Reigns d. CM Punk by Pinfall - Daniel Bryan d. Roman Reigns by Pinfall - Daniel Bryan d. Randy Orton by Pinfall Sole Survivor: Daniel Bryan
*Batista d. John Cena in a Title Unification Match to Win the WWE Championship and Retain the World Heavyweight Championship World Heavyweight Batista had appeared at the end of Hell in a Cell in a wordless challenge to his old rival and current WWE Champion, John Cena. This caused the Authority to set up a title unification match (especially after Batista refused to "get with the program" and join the faction as Orton and Cena had done) for Survivor Series, with both major world titles on the line. While the crowd was verbally calling for Daniel Bryan in the main event (and booing when Batista tried to co-opt the "YES" chant for himself), the match itself was as entertaining as previous encounters between the two titans had been. Cena took advantage midway through the match after Batista accidentally missed a spear in the corner, hitting his shoulder hard on the ringpost. Damien Sandow also tried to get involved, both acting as a flunky for the Authority and to try and get revenge on the man who had beaten him for the World Title a month prior, only to eat a spinebuster through a table for his troubles. In the end, Batista powered out of an attempted Attitude Adjustment and hit a 2nd spinebuster on Cena. He then hit the Franchise with the Batista Bomb to get the win, unifying both titles (for now) and holding them both high to close the show.

WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs December 15, 2013 Toyota Center Houston, TX
*The Shield [Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] d. CM Punk in a 3 on 1 Handicap Match Following Survivor Series, both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan found themselves targets of factions in the WWE. While Bryan became the latest target of the uncontrollable Wyatt Family, Punk faced down the Shield as punishment for helping Bryan in his Survivor Series match against the Authority. While Punk did the best he could, he was facing a 3 on 1 advantage. Punk did locked Rollins in an Anaconda Vise, and nearly got the tap out victory, but Ambrose was able to make the save
*Kaitlyn, Natalya & Nikki Bella w/Brie Bella d. AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka & Emma by Pinfall Following on from her upset win over the Divas Champion at Survivor Series, Kaitlyn teamed with Natalya and Nikki Bella to face AJ Lee, Tamina and the debuting Emma from NXT. Despite Tamina running roughshod over most of the other team, some Twin Magic from the Bellas caught her by surprise and allowed Brie to clothesline her out of the match. AJ tried to lock Kaitlyn in the Black Widow, but Kaitlyn was able to power out and lock AJ in a small package to get another pinfall win over the champion for the second PPV in a row.
*Antonio Cesaro d. Curtis Axel w/Paul Heyman in a Tables Match After their previous match ended in a No Contest, Cesaro challenged former IC Champion Curtis Axel to a Tables Match to ensure that there would be a winner. Despite attempted interference from Paul Heyman, Cesaro pulled out the victory by hitting a Zurich Bomb to Axel through a table. After the match, an irate Heyman seemed to fire Axel as a "Paul Heyman Guy", storming off to the back.
*The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] d. The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] w/Zeb Colter by Disqualification to Retain the WWE World Tag Team Titles The Real Americans had defeated The Usos in order to become #1 contenders to the WWE World Tag Team Titles, challenging the Rhodes Brothers at TLC. A fairly standard tag match followed, right up until the end when Colter "saved" his clients by interfering in the match, keeping Swagger from being pinned following a Curtain Call. When The Rhodes Brothers confronted the manager, both Kidd and Swagger attacked the champions with Steel Chairs, and the duo then performed a "Pillmanizer" on Goldust, shattering his ankle in a steel chair before walking off despite the DQ loss.
*The Miz d. R-Truth by Pinfall in a Chairs Match to Retain the Intercontinental Title R-Truth had upset The Miz on an episode of Smackdown, leading to the former US Champion issuing a challenge for the IC Title. The match was made a Chairs Match after Miz delivered a Skull Crushing Finale to Truth onto a steel chair the following week on Raw. The match would see a repeat of that encounter, as the former Awesome Truth co-horts traded chair shots, only for Miz to duck a chair shot and deliver a low blow to the challenger, before hitting another Skull Crushing Finale onto the steel for the victory.
*The Big Show & Damien Sandow d. Kane & Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall WWE General Manager Damien Sandow attempted to get some revenge on the Show Off Dolph Ziggler for the poor performance he had in the Team Authority match at Survivor Series, teaming with the Big Show to take on Ziggler and Kane. The two giants lumbered about against one another, leaving Ziggler and Sandow to fight amongst themselves for the most part. Ziggler looked like he had the GM beaten, hitting a Superkick followed by a Fameasser, but Big Show and Kane fighting on the outside had the referee distracted. This allowed Sandow time to roll to his corner and grab a brandy snifter tossing the drink in Ziggler's eyes and blinding him. Ziggler then got hit with the You're Welcome by Sandow, who picked up the pin afterwards.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper, Erick Rowan & Noah Kassidy] w/Bray Wyatt d. Daniel Bryan by Referee Stoppage in a 3 on 1 Handicap Match The night after Survivor Series, Daniel Bryan's attempt to become #1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Title was thwarted by the Wyatt Family, who ambushed the self-professed GOAT and laid him out. This led to the Authority giving Bryan a chance for "revenge" by booking him in a 3 on 1 Handicap Match against the entirety of the Wyatt Family, minus Bray Wyatt himself. Bray watched from his rocking chair in the entryway as the Family picked apart Bryan, who tried his best to fight back but was quickly overwhelmed by the numbers and larger fighters. In the end though, Bryan was locked in the Kassidy Clutch and passed out from the pain, the referee stopping the match to try and protect Bryan's health.
*Batista d. John Cena & Randy Orton in a TLC Match to Retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship After Batista became the first ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion, there was a fight within the Authority between John Cena and Randy Orton as to who the real "face of the company" would be to take the title from The Animal. This led to WWE COO Triple H making a triple threat TLC match between the three megastars for the belt. Orton and Cena initially teamed up against the champion, but their internal bickering eventually caught up with them, as they fought atop a ladder for the title. This led to Batista tossing them both off the ladder through a waiting table on the outside, before climbing up the ladder himself and retrieving his title to retain the belt.

NXT Arrival: Steel City January 25, 2014 Rostraver Ice Garden Pittsburgh, PA
*Kofi Kingston & Big E Langston w/Xavier Woods d. The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor] by Disqualification [The Ascension Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles] The newly formed alliance of Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston, paired with Xavier Woods (though not calling themselves the New Day yet) came down from the main roster to challenge The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Titles. The dominant champions had been easily cruising through most of the tag teams in NXT, but had trouble with the raw power of Big E. Before Big E and Kofi could get the win though, Konnor and Viktor attacked the challengers with the title belts, resulting in a DQ loss but keeping the titles.
*Alexander Rusev w/Lana d. Mojo Rawley by Submission Alexander Rusev continued his dominance over the entire NXT roster, easily causing Mojo Rawley to submit to the Grozny Clutch.
*Solomon Crowe d. Drew McIntyre by Pinfall In an impromptu match, former NXT champion Drew McIntyre came out and demanded a match against anyone on the roster. The lights flickered and suddenly the debuting Solomon Crowe appeared in the ring. McIntyre tried to jump the would-be hacker, but Crowe was able to outmanuever him and hit a Headlock Driver for the win.
*Sami Zayn d. Tyler Breeze by Pinfall to Win the NXT North American Title The two longtime rivals did battle over the NXT North American Title once again, with Prince Pretty trying his best to get himself disqualified in order to keep his title. However the referee used his discretion and this allowed Zayn the chance to hit Breeze with an exploder suplex into the corner, followed by the Helluva Kick to pick up the win.
*Charlotte Flair d. Sasha Banks by Submission to Earn a Shot at the NXT Women's Title The two former BFF's battled with each other in a Submission match to determine who would get a shot at Paige's NXT Women's Championship. In a very good match between the two former allies, Charlotte was able to get the tap out win by locking Banks in the Figure 8.
*Adrian Neville d. Bo Dallas in a Ladder Match to Win the NXT Championship After Bo Dallas had taken advantage of a knee injury by Adrian Neville to retain the NXT title, he had adopted a new character as an "inspirational" fighter, considering himself an inspiring and even heroic figure to the NXT audience (oblivious to the boos he was receiving). Despite his inspirational approach, he declined to grant Neville another title shot, saying that he would have to earn another one by "Bo-Lieving" in himself. NXT GM William Regal disagreed, booking a Ladder Match for the Steel City Showdown. In the high risk environment, the Master of Gravity was able to hold off the longtime NXT Champion, winning the title in a highly entertaining match.
