WWE Royal Rumble January 26, 2014 Consol Energy Center Pittsburgh, PA
*Daniel Bryan d. Bray Wyatt by Countout to Qualify for the Royal Rumble Match On the final Raw of 2013, Randy Orton and Batista had a Tables Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, that ended with John Cena putting both men through a table. This caused WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon, along with COO Triple H, to vacate the World Heavyweight Title and set the title to be defended in the Rumble match itself. With 28 named participants and one "special guest", Daniel Bryan would have to qualify to enter the Rumble by beating the unbeaten Bray Wyatt. On the road to the Rumble, Wyatt had shrugged off instructions from Triple H to finish Bryan, saying he wouldn't "Play the Game." Despite this, Wyatt and Bryan still had a barnburner of the match, with Wyatt nearly coming out on top after hitting the Sister Abigail's Kiss. Bryan however refused to give up and kicked out. Wyatt smiled at the GOAT and then performed his signature arms open taunt, before the lights flickered off. When they came back up, Wyatt was sitting in his rocking chair looking at the ring, as he accepted a countout loss to Bryan to allow Bryan to qualify for the Rumble match.
*Dean Ambrose d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title Dean Ambrose of the Shield and resident Authority malcontent Dolph Ziggler had traded the Intercontinental Title in the weeks leading into the Royal Rumble, leading to this rematch for the gold. The match was changed at the last minute when WWE General Manager Damien Sandow announced that he would be the Special Guest Referee for the match, much to Ziggler's chagrin. Sandow was blatant in his favoritism, eventually leading to Ziggler slapping the GM out of frustration. However rather than disqualify Ziggler, Sandow tripped him up and allowed Ambrose to roll him up, fast counting the Show Off to cost him the title.
*The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] w/Zeb Colter d. The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] in a Bunkhouse Brawl to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles After the match between The Rhodes Brothers and The Real Americans ended in disqualification the previous month, a rematch was set for the Royal Rumble. Cody Rhodes defeated Jack Swagger on an episode of Smackdown in order to pick the stipulation for the match, choosing a "Bunkhouse Brawl", where the object was to KO both of your opponents for a 10 count. Both teams came dressed as cowboys and brawled with whatever plunder they could find around ringside. The Americans took advantage of Goldust's injured ankle to try and keep him from standing up while double teaming Cody. Rhodes took out Kidd with a Cross Rhodes onto a steel chair, but then took a loaded cowboy boot shot from Swagger that knocked him out. Goldust valiantly tried to stand, but Zeb Colter took him out at the ankle again before Swagger followed up with another boot shot to KO him, giving the win and titles to the Real Americans.
*Luke Harper w/Erick Rowan d. Rob Van Dam by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Rob Van Dam had defeated Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family on an episode of Raw, only to be attacked by United States Champion Luke Harper immediately afterwards. Van Dam then nearly cost Harper the title in a match against Daniel Bryan, leading to this title defense. In a standard match, Harper was able to dispatch the veteran, getting his knees up to block the 5 Star Frogsplash and then delivering a Discus Lariat to retain the US Title.
*AJ Lee d. Kaitlyn by Submission in a Title vs. Career Match to Retain the WWE Divas Title After pinning the champion at two straight Pay Per View events, Kaitlyn wanted another shot at the Divas Championship. When AJ Lee pointed out that she couldn't receive another title shot, Kaitlyn offered to put her career on the line if she didn't win the title, which AJ agreed to. However Kaitlyn also added a stipulation that said that AJ's bodyguard Tamina Snuka would be locked in a shark cage at ringside to prevent her interference. In the end, AJ wouldn't need Tamina's help, as she finally vanquished her longtime rival via submission with the Black Widow, ending Kaitlyn's WWE career.
*Triple H Won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match to Win the WWE World Heavyweight Title Daniel Bryan, after qualifying for the Royal Rumble, was informed that everyone had already drawn their number, and that he was "left with" number one as a result. This didn't matter to Bryan, as he seemingly went the distance all the way to the end. An interesting note was the arrival of Brock Lesnar who tried to clean house, only to be surprisingly dumped out by The Animal Batista. Lesnar returned the favor to some extent by distracting Batista on the outside, allowing Miz to dump The Animal out. WWE General Manager Damien Sandow entered at number 15, but remained in a leather chair for most of the match until Dolph Ziggler entered, only for Sandow to be dumped out uncermoniously by the show off. When #30 came up, the "special guest" entrant, that person didn't show, leading to some speculation that they had no showed. The "final four" were thus Daniel Bryan, John Cena, CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Reigns eliminated Punk, leaving a 2 on 1 advantage for the Authority. However Bryan overcame again, seemingly winning the Rumble by eliminating Cena last. However as he won, the countdown started again and number 30 revealed themselves to be Triple H himself. Despite taking a running knee just as he came into the ring, Triple H took out the exhausted Bryan and eliminated him, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for himself to the crowd's immediate displeasure to close the show.

Note: Due to using him slightly better in this universe, I am convinced Punk would stay through Wrestlemania (especially with what I had planned for the card from the get go), so that's what happens here. He will leave after Mania though to reflect reality.
WWE Elimination ChamberFebruary 23, 2014 Target Center Minneapolis, MN
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] by Pinfall WWE Hall of Famers The New Age Outlaws had returned as separate entrants in the Royal Rumble match, and had aligned themselves with their old running buddy Triple H and the Authority. Hunter immediately tasked them with taking out Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The Rhodes' controlled much of the match, but the Hall of Famers took advantage of a miscommunication between Cody and Goldust to isolate the older Rhodes, with Billy Gunn hitting him with a Fameasser to pick up the upset win.
*Alberto del Rio d. The Miz by Submission Both Alberto del Rio and The Miz had failed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match that would send someone to the main event of Wrestlemania, as well as eliminating each other from the "Last Chance Battle Royal" that put a 7th man in the Chamber. This led to a one on one match between the two at Elimination Chamber, which saw del Rio pick up the submission victory via the Cross Arm Breaker.
*Damien Sandow d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall in a GM Rules Match Tired of his interference in his matches, Dolph Ziggler challenged WWE General Manager Damien Sandow to a match at Elimination Chamber. Sandow agreed, but only if the match was contested under GM Rules, which were basically rules that he made up along the way. At one point when the referee was going to disqualify Sandow for using a chair, Sandow clarified that the rules were No Disqualification. When Ziggler got ready to use a Kendo Stick, Sandow said that Kendo Sticks were banned. The end came when Ziggler seemingly pinned Sandow for a three count, only for Sandow to make a rule that said you needed a 5 count. Ziggler argued with a referee briefly before turning around and being smashed in the head with a brandy snifter, busted open in the process. Sandow then pinned the unconscious Show Off for the victory.
*Naomi w/Cameron d. AJ Lee w/Tamina Snuka by Disqualification [AJ Retains the Divas Title] AJ Lee and Tamina had entered a feud with the Funkadactyls Naomi and Cameron recently, with the two former NXT Women's Champions set to face each other in a title match. With Cameron and Tamina fighting on the outside, it seemed as if AJ would finally be undone by someone in the ring, as Naomi nearly got a pinfall on her, only for Tamina to break away from Cameron and pull Naomi out of the pinfall and Samoan Drop her on the outside. This led to a DQ victory for Naomi, but kept the title with AJ.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper, Noah Kassidy & Erick Rowan] w/Bray Wyatt d. The Shield [Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] by Pinfall Bray Wyatt had refused to play ball with Triple H and the Authority, accepting a countout loss at the Royal Rumble which put Daniel Bryan in a position to win the Rumble match (though that would be undone by Triple H's duplicity). As punishment, The Wyatt Family were ordered to face The Shield in a 6 Man Tag at Elimination Chamber. However, victories over the Shield in Singles Matches by Bray Wyatt led to dissension amongst the Shield, as they began to argue amongst themselves. In contrast to their previous trios matches, The Shield was beaten down by The Family, ending when Rowan hit a running powerslam on Dean Ambrose after Rollins walked away from the group, tired of Ambrose and Reigns' bickering.
*The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] w/Zeb Colter d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles The Usos renewed their quest for tag team gold, taking on the new champions The Real Americans for the titles. The brothers worked over Swagger for much of the match, but timely interference from Zeb Colter on the outside allowed Tyson Kidd to use a tag title belt to KO Jimmy while he was perched on the top rope for an Uso Splash, sending him collapsing to the floor and knocking him out cold. This left Jey alone against the Real Americans, and Swagger eventually finished him off with a Swagger Bomb in the corner to pick up the win.
*CM Punk d. Triple H by Disqualification [Triple H Retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship] Triple H had entered himself into the Royal Rumble as the "last stop gap" to prevent someone "undesirable" from winning the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title, should the rest of the Authority fail (which, because they did, Triple H refused to vacate the title to one of them). The Game was then confronted by CM Punk, who called out Triple H for his "bad business decisions." Ultimately, a match was made between the two of them for the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber. Punk seemingly had the match won, but the referee was pulled in front of Triple H by The Game when Punk attempted a running clothesline into the corner. Triple H then used a sledge hammer on the Second City Saint, only for Punk to kick out with a second referee coming down. Punk then reversed a Pedigree and hit Triple H with the Go 2 Sleep for the seeming title victory. However, "in the interest of fairness" WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon reversed the referee's decision, disqualifying her husband for using the referee as a shield earlier, giving Punk the win but keeping the title on The Game.
*Daniel Bryan d. John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Wade Barrett, Sheamus & Kane in an Elimination Chamber Match for the Right to Go to Wrestlemania XXX Since the winner of the Royal Rumble had won the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title, the winner of the Elimination Chamber would go on to challenge for the title at Wrestlemania 30. John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista were all granted automatic entry into the Chamber, leaving Barrett, Sheamus and Kane to win qualifying matches. Daniel Bryan, however, wasn't even allowed to try and qualify. As a "special treat" WWE General Manager Damien Sandow announced that there would be a 15 Man Battle Royal on the go home episode of Raw for a special 7th spot in the Chamber (with three men starting instead of the normal 2). Again, Bryan wasn't involved in the Battle Royal, seemingly. The match was won by, of all people, Sin Cara, after Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio were the last two in the match. The luchadore said something to Mysterio, causing Mysterio to eliminate himself, only for Sin Cara to remove his mask and reveal that it was Daniel Bryan under the hood the whole time. The need for a 7th man was rendered moot before the match anyway, as Batista (who was one of the three starting the match) was attacked on the entryway by Brock Lesnar, who seemingly broke Batista's arm with the Kimura Lock and rendered him unable to compete. This left Bryan and Barrett to start the match. To the shock of many, Orton was the first man eliminated by Kane. In the end the match came down to John Cena and Daniel Bryan, with Bryan overcoming the odds again and winning via submission over the Franchise with the LeBell Lock, punching his ticket to Wrestlemania to a chorus of Yes Chants to close the show. - Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett and Batista Entered the Match at #1, #2 and #3 respectively. - Batista was eliminated from the match by Brock Lesnar before the match could start. - Randy Orton Entered the Match at #4 - Sheamus Entered the Match at #5 - Kane Entered the Match at #6 - John Cena Entered the Match at #7 - Kane d. Randy Orton by Pinfall with a Tombstone Piledriver - Wade Barrett d. Kane by Pinfall with a Bullhammer Elbow - Daniel Bryan d. Sheamus by Pinfall with a Baikatsu Knee - John Cena d. Wade Barrett by Submission with the STF - Daniel Bryan d. John Cena by Submission with the LeBell Lock Winner: Daniel Bryan

NXT Arrival: The Big Easy April 5, 2014 Lakefront Arena New Orleans, LA
*The Lucha Dragons [Sin Cara & Kallisto] d. The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor] by Pinfall to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles The luchadore tag team of Sin Cara and Kallisto were easily underdogs against the long running NXT Tag Team Champions. Despite this, the Ascension were undone by the speed of the challengers, which saw Kallisto hit Viktor with the Salida del Soul to pick up the win and end the Ascension's long running dominance of the tag division.
*Sasha Banks d. Becky Lynch, Bayley & Alexa Bliss by Submission in a Fatal Fourway Match 4 of the top women in NXT competed for a title shot in this Fatal Fourway match, which was upended by the presence of Alexa Bliss, who had scored upset pins over both Lynch and Banks going in to the match. However Bliss would ultimately tapout to the Banks Statement, giving The Boss of NXT a the submission victory.
*Drew McIntyre d. Mojo Rawley by Pinfall In a standard match, Drew McIntyre easily bested Mojo Rawley, hitting him with the Futureshock DDT for the pinfall victory.
*Sami Zayn d. Solomon Crowe by Pinfall to Retain the North American Title In a standard title defense, Sami Zayn defeated the previously unbeaten Solomon Crowe with a Helluva Kick to retain the title. After the match though, Zayn was attacked by Drew McIntyre, who hit a Claymore Kick and concussed the North American champion, leading to him being taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
*Adrian Neville d. Tyler Breeze by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Prince Pretty had won a Beat the Clock Challenge on NXT to earn a shot at the NXT Champion, Adrian Neville. In the end though, the Master of Gravity hit Breeze with a Red Arrow to pick up the victory.
*Charlotte Flair d. Paige in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to Win the NXT Women's Championship Charlotte Flair received a "final chance" at the NXT Women's Champion Paige, facing her in a 2 out of 3 Falls match. Charlotte actually picked up the first fall by hitting a Natural Selection on Paige out of nowhere for the quick pin. Paige evened the score by hitting the Paige Turner on Charlotte, setting up the final fall. In the end, Charlotte won her first championship by getting Paige to submit to the Figure-8, celebrating with her father Ric Flair who was in the stands to close the show.

Wrestlemania XXX April 6, 2014 Mercedes Benz Superdome New Orleans, LA
*Daniel Bryan d. CM Punk by Submission to Earn a Spot in the Main Event The night after Elimination Chamber, Triple H announced that despite his victory in the main event, Daniel Bryan wouldn't be going on to the main event of Wrestlemania 30, simply because The Authority had fired Bryan due to "gross insubordination" over the course of several weeks. This led to a rematch on Raw of an Elimination Chamber match that was won by Bryan's replacement, CM Punk. The following week Punk led a walkout on Raw of most of the talent, stating that they wouldn't compete until Bryan was reinstated. This led to Mr. McMahon's return to deal with the situation, as he reinstated Bryan to prevent Wrestlemania from being canceled by the labor dispute (and was clearly annoyed with Stephanie and Triple H for causing the problem in the first place). To reconcile Punk and Bryan's competing title shots at Mania, WWE General Manager Damien Sandow ordered that the two men fight in the opening match of the show, with the winner moving on to face Triple H in the main event. In a match that saw both men shake hands before and after, Bryan and Punk didn't hold back, and in the end Bryan overcame injured ribs to lock in the Kiniski Clutch (Cattle Mutilation) for the submission victory.
*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] & The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The WWE Hall of Famers The New Age Outlaws had turned back the clock by stunning The Real Americans to become WWE World Tag Team Champions for the first time since the 90s (albeit with the help of their Authority teammate The Big Show). This led to them defending the titles in a triple threat match against both The Real Americans and The Usos. The champions were taken out early, causing the Americans and Usos to have a match between themselves during most of the run time. However Billy Gunn snuck in to try and steal the victory from the Usos after they hit a double superkick on both Swagger and Kidd, but both Real Americans were able to kick out. In the end, the Usos hit a double Uso Splash on Swagger and Road Dogg both, pinning members of both teams to pick up the win and the tag titles.
*Randy Orton d. Kane by Pinfall The Big Red Machine Kane had surprised many by eliminating Randy Orton from the Elimination Chamber, not just at the Pay Per View but the following night on Raw as well. When Kane was granted a shot at the WWE Title the following week on Raw, however, Orton cost him the match, leading to this Wrestlemania contest. Kane dominated the early part of the match, but an errant flying clothesline led to him injuring his knee, which Orton was able to take advantage of, catching Kane with an RKO in the end for the victory.
*Alberto del Rio d. The Miz by Submission to Retain the Intercontinental Title Shortly after Elimination Chamber, Alberto del Rio captured the Intercontinental Title for the first time. This led to The Miz challenging him for the title, claiming he was as much of a submission specialist as Del Rio (even "taking" the Figure-4 Leglock from Ric Flair on an episode of Raw where Flair was in the crowd.) Unfortunately for the A-Lister, he was unable to prove his mettle against the Mexican Aristocrat, and Del Rio eventually got the win with the Cross Armbreaker.
*Alexander Rusev Won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Hulk Hogan had been announced as the host of Wrestlemania 30 several weeks prior, and at that announcement Hogan announced that the event would feature the first ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, a 30 man battle royal in honor of the 8th Wonder of the World. The winner would also receive a "30 lb" gold trophy modeled after the Hall of Famer. Going in the favorite was The Big Show, whom many had always compared to the Giant. However Big Show would be eliminated by Antonio Cesaro, who impressively dead lifted the 500 pounder out of the ring. The battle royal would come down to Cesaro, Cody Rhodes and Sheamus, with NXT star Alexander Rusev rounding out the Final 4. To the shock of many, Rusev eliminated by Sheamus and Cesaro at the same time, and then fought out of a Cross Rhodes to toss Cody from the ring to win the battle royal and the trophy.
*The Shield [Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] d. The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper, Erick Rowan & Noah Kassidy] w/Bray Wyatt in an Elimination Six Man Tag Match After The Wyatt Family had dominated the Shield the previous month at Elimination Chamber, the consensus was that the Shield's days as a dominant faction were over. The Shield however held a "summit" meeting on Raw, airing their grievances with one another and then agreeing to work together once more, fighting off the Wyatts from attacking during that Summit and agreeing to an Elimination Tag. At Mania it was the Shield that reigned dominant, despite a good performance from the Wyatt Family, as the Shield hit a clean sweep against Harper, Rowan and Kassidy to get their revenge. After the match, it looked like Bray Wyatt would come down to avenge his family, but he decided discretion was the better part of valor and walked away.
*Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman d. Batista by Pinfall Brock Lesnar had been stunned at the Royal Rumble when Batista uncermoniously dumped him out of the Rumble match, costing him the WWE World Heavyweight Title. The Beast Incarnate returned the favor however by attacking Batista before he entered the Elimination Chamber the following month, costing him a shot at the Wrestlemania main event, and leading to this dream match between the two behemoths. Lesnar and Batista traded several moves, with Lesnar targeting the injured arm of the Animal and Batista able to counter with his own limited MMA training. After a long, hard hitting match with several near falls for both men, Brock punctuated a victory by hitting three consecutive F-5's to pick up the hard earned victory.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Damien Sandow by Pinfall in a Hair vs. Hair Match For several months the Show-Off Dolph Ziggler and the General Manager of Raw Damien Sandow had been feuding (extending all the way back to Sandow cashing in Money in the Bank on Ziggler). As punishment for Sandow's decisions that led to Daniel Bryan being in a position to challenge Triple H for the WWE Title at Mania, The Authority placed him in a Hair vs. Hair match against Ziggler. Despite Sandow's continued attempts to cheat, the GM was beaten by Ziggler after the Show Off hit a Zig Zag off the top rope for the victory. Sandow attempted to escape the Barber's Chair, but was confronted by the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014 (which included Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake) who ensured that Sandow would be shaved bald, losing his beard and everything.
*The Undertaker d. John Cena by Pinfall After repeated attempts to recapture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship had failed, John Cena had seemingly lost the "confidence" of the Authority as the Franchise of WWE. WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon said that if he was going to regain that confidence, he would have to do something no one else had ever done. Cena decided to beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, despite the Phenom essentially being retired from WWE since the previous year's Wrestlemania. Cena coaxed Undertaker out of retirement by threatening the Phenom's wife, Michelle McCool, during a celebration of 30 years of Divas in WWE. Cena threw everything he had at the Undertaker, but couldn't put the Deadman away, as the Phenomw as able to either counter or withstand all of Cena's offense. At the end of the match, Cena seemed willing to use a steel chair to KO the Phenom to end the streak, but he elected not to, showcasing his more virtuous side again. THis would cost him though, as Undertaker reversed an attempted AA into a Tombstone and pulled out the victory yet again to keep his streak in tact. After the match, Cena shook hands with the Undertaker, despite the yellings of Stephanie McMahon for not living up to his end of the bargain. Cena eventually grew tired of the yelling and, to the delight of the crowd, turned face by blocking Stephanie's attempted slap, and then allowing Undertaker to chokeslam the CEO.
*AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka d. The Funkadactyls [Naomi & Cameron] by Submission to Retain AJ's Divas Championship After AJ Lee had continued to hold her title with help from Tamina Snuka, Wrestlemania host Hulk Hogan made a special tag match between AJ and Tamina and the Funkadactyls for Mania 30, in which whoever got the fall would become the new Divas champion. This, coupled with seeming tension between AJ and Tamina, seemed to signify the end for AJ's long running grip on the title. However AJ took advantage of Tamina's handiwork once again, as Tamina hit a Samoan Drop on Naomi on the outside, AJ snuck in and hooked Cameron in the Black Widow to pick up the submission victory.
*Daniel Bryan d. Triple H w/Stephanie McMahon by Submission to Win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship After months of feuding between Daniel Bryan and the Authority, the GOAT would finally get his chance of revenge against the COO and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H. This did not stop the Game from trying to once again stack the deck against Bryan, as just after the introductions Triple H tried to appoint a Special Referee in the form of Brad Maddox (who had been in the pocket as an official for the Authority dating back to Night of Champions.) However Maddox's appointment was "overruled" by The Shield, who officially turned on The Authority and put Maddox through an announce table via triple powerbomb. With The Shield guarding ringside, Bryan and Triple H were able to have a long, evenly matched one on one encounter. In the end, Bryan locked in the LeBell Lock and, after Triple H failed to reach the ropes (and the Shield stopped Stephanie McMahon from interfering), the Game was forced to tap out, giving Bryan the win as the crowd shouted "YES" in unison with Bryan as he celebrated (complete with Brie Bella coming out from the back to be with her soon to be husband) to end the show.

*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. The Real Americans [Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd] w/Zeb Colter by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles Following up from their triple threat encounter at Wrestlemania, The Usos defended their newly won tag team titles against former champions The Real Americans. Swagger zeroed in on the seemingly injured ankle of Jimmy Uso in order to secure a submission victory, and the Americans did a good job of isolating Jimmy from his brother. Once Jey made the tag in, however, he was able to clear house of both Kidd and Swagger. Zeb Colter attempted to get involved, but he was taken out by Jimmy on the outside, which gave Jey the chance to hit Tyson Kidd with the Uso Splash and pick up the win.
*Alexander Rusev w/Lana d. Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal by Submission in a Handicap Match Russian star Alexander Rusev had won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania XXX, and along with it had earned the "30 lb" gold trophy. However, Rusev and his manager Lana had the trophy melted down and used the gold to create a new championship belt called the "Russian Heavyweight Championship." Rusev would defend this "title" in a handicap match against the duo of Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal, easily besting the underneath duo and getting Mahal to submit to the Grozny Clutch with little difficulty.
*Wade Barrett d. Alberto del Rio in a Bullhammer Strap Match to Retain the Intercontinental Title Wade Barrett had defeated Alberto del Rio for the Intercontinental Title shortly after Wrestlemania, and was set to defend it in this rematch. Barrett insisted that the match have a stipulation attached to it, defending the title in a "Bullhammer Strap Match." This stipulation almost backfired on the champion, as del Rio used the strap to try and choke out the Bruising Brit. However Barrett's own strength prevailed, and he retained the title after hitting Del Rio with both a Wasteland and then finishing him off with the Bullhammer Elbow.
*Bray Wyatt w/The Wyatt Family d. Sheamus by Pinfall The Wyatt Family had targeted the Celtic Warrior on an episode of Smackdown after Sheamus had eliminated Noah Kassidy from the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania. In addition to this, tensions were seemingly starting to form in the family between Wyatt and Kassidy, with the latter questioning the teachings of the former. In order to set an example, Wyatt made Kassidy watch at ringside as he took on Sheamus himself, only to eat a Brogue Kick early on that nearly ended his unpinned streak in singles matches in an instant. Wyatt was able to kick out and eventually reestablish dominance, hitting Sheamus with Sister Abigail's Kiss to close out the match with a victory.
*Paige d. Tamina Snuka by Pinfall to Retain the Divas Title The night after Wrestlemania, AJ Lee celebrated 1 year as Divas Champion, only for her celebration to be interrupted by the WWE main roster debut of former NXT Women's Champion Paige. Paige simply wanted to come out and congratulate AJ for blazing the trail for "women like her," while AJ dismissed the rookie with the line "no one is like me." Eventually AJ challenged Paige to a match on Raw, putting the Divas Title on the line. This proved to be disastrous, as Paige won the title on her first night, ending AJ's historic reign. At Extreme Rules, with AJ nursing an injury, Paige took on AJ's bodyguard Tamina Snuka for the belt. After Tamina used her power to toss the champion around a bit, eventually Paige made a comeback and hit the Rampaige DDT for the victory.
*Daniel Bryan d. The Big Show by Submission in an Extreme Rules Match to Retain the WWE World Heavyweight Title Daniel Bryan had celebrated his historic title win at Wrestlemania, only to have his celebration crashed by The Big Show, who on behalf of the Authority challenged Bryan to a title match that night. That match ended in No Contest after Randy Orton and Triple H interfered, with the Shield also getting involved. Bryan and Show would meet again at the Pay Per View, this time in an Extreme Rules match after Show "accidentally" knocked out Bryan's wife Brie Bella with the Right Hand of Doom during the contract signing for the title match. Big Show used his weight to throw the champion around the ring during the opening part of the match, with Bryan eventually using weapons to beat down Big Show as a show of revenge. Eventually Bryan retained the title after locking the Giant in the LeBell Lock and getting the tap out victory.
*The Shield [Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins] d. Evolution [Triple H, Randy Orton & Batista] by Pinfall in a No Holds Barred 6 Man Tag Match When Triple H, Randy Orton and The Big Show teamed up to take down Daniel Bryan, the champion was bailed out by Batista and The Shield. However, Batista then turned on the Shield, using a steel chair to lay out the former members of the Authority, reforming Evolution with Orton and Triple H. The trio then took on The Shield in this six man tag. In a match that went all over the arena, both teams battled each other with No Holds Barred. In the end, Batista was pinned after a Curb Stomp by Rollins, which followed a Spear from Roman Reigns and a Paradigm Shift from Ambrose, with the Shield standing tall to end the night.
Off-Camera Title Change May 9: Daniel Bryan forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Title due to injury.

NXT: Takeover May 29, 2014 Full Sail University Winter Park, FL
*Baron Corbin d. Sylvester LeFort w/Marcus Louis by Pinfall Since debuting on NXT, Baron Corbin had been nearly an unstoppable force. That continued with this match, as Corbin easily bested Sylvester LeFort and pinned him following the End of Days.
*Enzo Amore & Big Cass d. The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor] by Disqualification The Ascension looked to regain some momentum after losing the NXT Tag Team Titles against their old rivals Enzo Amore and Big Cass. However the duo's anger over losing the tag titles had been plaguing them in recent weeks, and when Enzo actually managed to kick out of the Fall of Man finisher, The Ascension lost their collective minds, attacking Enzo and Big Cass to the point of forcing a disqualification against them, though they didn't seem to care.
*Charlotte Flair d. Alexa Bliss & Sasha Banks by Submission to Retain the NXT Women's Championship Following her victory just before Wrestlemania at earning a future title shot, Sasha Banks came up short against new champion Charlotte Flair on an episode of NXT. The Boss demanded a rematch, but the rematch would be changed to a triple threat match by NXT General Manager William Regal following Alexa Bliss' upset victory over Banks. Bliss' presence in the title match would cost Banks, as after The Boss hit Bliss with a Backstabber, Charlotte snuck in and stole the pinfall to retain her title.
*The Lucha Dragons [Sin Cara & Kallisto] d. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles In a standard title defense, The Lucha Dragons successfully retained their NXT Tag Team Titles against the team of Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy. However after the match, both teams were laid out by The Ascension, as they looked to reestablish dominance over the NXT tag division.
*Adrian Neville d. Tyler Breeze & Curt Hawkins by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Curt Hawkins had become the latest former main roster star to come back to NXT looking to revitalize his career. He was off to a good start, having earned pinfall victories over both Tyler Breeze and the NXT Champion over the previous weeks. NXT General Manager William Regal placed Hawkins in a triple threat match with Breeze and Neville. The NXT Champion though was able to pull out the victory, hitting the Red Arrow on Hawkins for the win.
*Sami Zayn d. Drew McIntyre by Pinfall to Retain the NXT North American Title and Win the Inaugural Warrior Cup Following the untimely death of WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior just after Wrestlemania XXX, NXT established the Warrior Cup Tournament, a 10 Man Round Robin Style Tournament (modeled after the G1 Classic) that saw 10 NXT superstars compete for a shot at the NXT Championship. The winners of both pools were Drew McIntyre and NXT North American Champion Sami Zayn, leading to this match between the two at Takeover in the tournament finals, with Zayn's title also on the line. In the end, Zayn survived a Futureshock DDT and hit the Blue Thunder Bomb off the top rope to pick up the win and secure the tournament win. After the match, Zayn was confronted by Neville, who held up his own NXT Title in a sign of things to come to close the show.

*The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Big E Langston] w/Xavier Woods d. The Rhodes Brothers [Cody Rhodes & Goldust] The grouping of Xavier Woods, Big E Langston & Kofi Kingston had formed an official trio calling itself the "New Day", a group of oblivious happy-go-lucky wrestlers who seemingly ignored the fact that they were booed regularly. Big E and Kofi teamed to face the Rhodes Brothers in a match where the two teams were jockeying for position. Despite Woods annoyingly playing his trombone on the outside, the former tag team champions seemed to be in control until the match broke down towards the end. Kofi hit a thumb to the eye of Goldust, blinding him temporarily, and causing him to strike his brother Cody in the face with a stiff uppercut. This sent Cody staggering back into the waiting arms of Big E who hit the Big Ending for the victory for The New Day. After the match, Cody and Goldust argued with each other briefly before seemingly leaving on the same page.
*Alexander Rusev w/Lana d. Sheamus by Submission The self-professed "Russian Heavyweight Champion" continued his undefeated run since Wrestlemania, taking on the Celtic Warrior Sheamus. While the Irishman put up a bigger fight than most, he still submitted to the Grozny Clutch to give Rusev the big win.
*The Wyatt Family [Luke Harper & Erick Rowan] w/Bray Wyatt d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Disqualification [The Usos Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles] Payback would see every member of the Wyatt Family in a title match. First up was Harper and Rowan as they took on the Usos for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Bray Wyatt was in the corner for his family, but didn't involve himself much, simply sitting in his rocking chair and surveying the situation. The Usos and the Wyatts had a barnstormer of a match that saw several near falls. However the match would end in controversy after the Usos accidentally superkicked the referee when Harper ducked. This allowed the Wyatts to try and cheat, only to have the Usos rally back and hit Rowan with a Double Uso Splash as a second official ran down to make the count. However the original official reversed the decision, disqualifying the Usos for their attack on him (accidental though it was) and giving the win to Rowan and Harper.
*Paige d. Emma in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to Retain the Divas Title WWE Divas Champion Paige had renewed her NXT rivalry with the Outback Princess Emma. The two women were set for a 2 out of 3 Falls match at Payback, and the two showcased why they had help elevate the level of women's wrestling in NXT. Paige won the first fall after sitting down on an attempted sunset flip by the challenger, only for Emma to turn the tide quickly with an underhanded clip to the champion's knee with a concealed lead pipe in between falls. Emma then worked over the knee and locked in a single leg crab, forcing the champion to tap out from the pain. With Paige barely able to stand, it appeared that Emma would win the title, but Paige bounced back and hit the Paige Turner out of nowhere to gut out a hard fought win.
*Mark Henry d. Noah Kassidy w/Bray Wyatt by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Tensions had seemingly been brewing between Noah Kassidy and Bray Wyatt since shortly after Wrestlemania, with the cult leader being extra harsh on Kassidy for his failures. Kassidy appeared to take this message to heart, nearly pulling off the upset win over the United States Champion. However Bray appeared to be out to teach Kassidy a lesson, as when the referee was temporarily knocked down, Bray delivered Sister Abigail's Kiss to his follower, allowing Henry to then follow up with a big splash and retain the title.
*Tyson Kidd w/Zeb Colter & Jack Swagger d. Wade Barrett & Rob Van Dam to Win the Intercontinental Title Prior to the beginning of the match, which was originally scheduled to be between Jack Swagger, Wade Barrett and RVD for the Intercontinental Title, Swagger was taken out by a masked assailant with a crowbar to the knee. Medically unable to compete, Swagger turned his title spot over to his partner, Tyson Kidd, to compete for him. This would prove to be fortuitous for the ex-Canadian, as ducked a Bullhammer Elbow, causing Barrett to walk right into a jumping sidekick from Van Dam. Kidd then executed a jackknife pin on Van Dam out of nowhere to pick up the win and capture the IC Title for the Real Americans.
*The Shield [Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins] d. Evolution [Triple H, Randy Orton & Batista] in a Falls Count Anywhere Elimination Tag Match After The Shield beat Evolution at Extreme Rules, Triple H became obsessed with taking out the former enforces of the Authority, even denying Randy Orton and Batista the chance to compete for the Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship in order to compete against the Shield in a 6 Man Elimination Tag Match. Similar to their Extreme Rules encounter, the brawl took place all over the building, as one by one Orton and Batista were eliminated. This left the Game the unenviable task of staring down all three members of the Shield, as they delivered a Triple Powerbomb through a table and all pinned Triple H simultaneously to pick up the victory.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Kane, Alberto del Rio, The Big Show, Bray Wyatt & Antonio Cesaro in a 6 Pack Challenge for the Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship Less than a week after defeating The Big Show at Extreme Rules, Daniel Bryan revealed that he had to have real life neck surgery and that he would be forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This led to a 6 pack challenge at Payback in which 6 superstars would compete for the vacant championship. Bray Wyatt was taken out early by Kane in response to an interaction between the two a week prior, while Cesaro managed to pin the Big Show after a huge bodyslam, but virtually eliminated himself in the process. This left Ziggler and del Rio to fight for the gold and, despite Del Rio locking Ziggler in the Cross Armbreaker at one point, the Show Off managed to escape to the ropes and then hit a Zig Zag out of nowhere to pin Del Rio and become WWE Champion to the delight of the crowd to end the night.
