Wrestlemania 32 April 2, 2016 AT&T Stadium Arlington, TX
*Sami Zayn Won the 25-Man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal The 25-Man Andre the Giant Battle Royal kicked things off, with the shocking surprise appearance of basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal appearing in the match. O'Neal squared off with Big Show, and the two giants engaged in a brief tussle before being thrown over the top rope together by the Usos. A large portion of the field was also eliminated by Braun Strowman before the Monster Amongst Men was eliminated by the 7 remaining men (minus Luke Harper). The final three left in the match were Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn. After Ziggler was eliminated by Harper, Zayn and the de facto Wyatt Family Leader duked it out for a shot at the IC Champion later in the night, with Zayn dropping the bottom rope as Harper ran in to clothesline him out, giving Zayn the win much to the crowd's delight.
*AJ Styles d. Chris Jericho by Pinfall The short-lived team of Y2AJ had splintered after their failure to win the tag team titles at Roadblock, with Jericho stating that Styles had always been a "big fish in a small pond" in reference to his success around the world. Styles more than showcased his athletic ability in this barnstormer match though, countering most of Jericho's offense and returning with his own unique brand of offense himself. Jericho tried to turn Styles into the Walls of Jericho, but Styles was able to reverse it into his own Calf Crusher submission and nearly get the victory. In the end though, Styles was able to counter an attempted Code Breaker with his power, and lock Jericho into the Styles Clash, nailing the move for the win.
*Paige, Natalya & Emma d. Brie Bella, Alicia Fox & Tamina by Pinfall In a standard 6 woman tag team match, Paige and her associates were able to defeat Brie Bella and her associates, when Paige hit Alicia Fox with the Paige Turner in order to pick up the win.
*Enzo Amore & Big Cass w/Carmella d. The Dudley Boyz [Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley] in a Tables Match The former NXT Tag Team Champions Enzo Amore & Big Cass had made their debut on an episode of Raw at the end of February, insulting the legendary Dudley Boyz in the process of doing so. This led the Dudleys and Enzo & Cass to face each other on Smackdown, which the upstarts won via disqualification after the Dudleys put Enzo through a Table, leading to this Tables Match at Wrestlemania. This was nearly the fate of the Smacktalker Skywalker again, only for Big Cass to take out the Dudleys at the last minute when they tried to hit the 3-D on Enzo. In the end, Big Cass took out Bubba with a huge big boot that sent him sprawling to the outside, while setting up D-Von on the table in the ring. The Staten Island Superstars then hit the How Ya Doin off the top on D-Von through the table to win.
*Macho Mandow d. Wade Barrett, Kallisto & Alberto del Rio in a Fatal Fourway Match to Win the United States Championship United States Champion Wade Barrett defended his championship against three men, after a #1 contenders mini tournament on Smackdown went awry, after Del Rio caused a match between Kallisto and Macho Mandow to end in No Contest, leading to all three men being put in a match for the belt. Kallisto and Del Rio largely took each other out after the lucha star hit a suicide dive through the ropes to knock out the Mexican Aristocrat. Barrett nearly retained the title when he went for the Bullhammer Elbow on Macho Mandow, but the former World Champion ducked the strike and then catapaulted Barrett into an exposed turnbuckle, knocking him out. Mandow then climbed the top rope and hit the elbow drop to pull off the upset and win the US Title.
*Sami Zayn d. The Miz by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title The Miz was originally scheduled to defend the IC Title against Adrian Neville in a rematch from their Pay Per View match previously, but an ankle injury to the Man Gravity Forgot took him out of Wrestlemania. The winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was then given a shot at the IC Championship, which was won by Sami Zayn. The self-professed A-Lister had disregarded the former NXT Champion as irrelevant, and took more time in promoting his own upcoming movie than anything. This backfired when Zayn caught Miz with an Exploder Suplex into the corner and then hit a Helluva Kick to the Champion, pinning him in under 30 seconds to win the Intercontinental Title.
*The Social Outcasts [Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas & Heath Slater] w/Adam Rose d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods] by Pinfall A group of 4 "underutilized" talents had formed a group known as The Social Outcasts, and had taken offense to the "goofy" nature of the World Tag Team Champions The New Day. The outcasts challenged the champions to a 6 Man Tag, with Adam Rose sitting on the outside for his team. This would prove to be the decisive factor, as all 6 men eventually began brawling in the middle of the ring, distracting the referee. As Big E went for the Big Ending, Rose hit him with a steel chair, causing him to fall to the ground with Slater falling on him. The referee then turned around and counted the pinfall, giving the Outcasts the upset win.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Dean Ambrose by Pinfall Back in December, Dean Ambrose had appeared on Stone Cold Steve Austin's podcast, where the two had a terse exchange over Ambrose not liking being compared to Austin and Austin taking issue with the lack of respect from the current generation of superstars. This war of words continued in the coming months, with Ambrose continuing to run down Austin's legacy and calling him a "third-rate" main eventer who's run "was cut short cause he couldn't cut it anymore." Eventually, when Ambrose lost the IC Title to Roman Reigns and didn't have another match for Mania, Ambrose determined to "make his own Wrestlemania moment" and called out Austin in his home state of Texas for a confrontation on his own "Ambrose Asylum" talk show segment. Austin did come out, but the confrontation turned into a legitimate match between the two. A short fight spilled out over the arena, with Ambrose getting some licks in, but Austin doing his best to take out the lunatic fringe. In the end, Austin hit a Stunner on Ambrose and got the pinfall victory to the thrill of the crowd.
*Triple H d. Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell Match Back in February, Vince McMahon had seemingly come out to announce his retirement from the day to day operations of running WWE, and was going to turn over the reigns to his daughter Stephanie and her husband Triple H as The Authority. This, however, brought out Shane McMahon, who had returned after a lengthy absence (explained by Shane as covering for one of his father's "big screwups") to reclaim his place in line. Shane and Triple H would then feud, eventually settling into a Hell in a Cell match at Wrestlemania with control of the company on the line. Despite being out of practice, Shane held his own against the former WWE Champion, coming close to winning after hitting Triple H with his own Pedigree. At one point the fight spilled out of the Cell, with Triple H being laid out on the announce table. Shane climbed the Cell and attempted his Leap of Faith elbow onto Triple H, only for Stephanie to pull the Game out of the way, allowing Shane to crash through the announce table. The Game then slowly rolled Shane back into the ring and hit a Pedigree to pick up the win and seemingly secure control of the company for himself and Stephanie.
*The Undertaker d. Kevin Owens by Pinfall The Undertaker's quest to continue his career had taken a detour at Roadblock in Toronto, when he was blindsided by Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter was looking to make a name for himself by ending the legend of the Undertaker, and doing so at Wrestlemania in his home state of Texas. Owens came out of the gate strong, attacking the Phenom before he could even finish his iconic entrance and attempting to choke him out with his own trench coat. Undertaker however reasserted his dominance and began no selling the punches from Owens, before delivering devastating strikes of his own. After a lengthy back and forth (which turned in Owens favor after a Pop-Up Powerbomb), Owens nearly got the win following a huge swanton from the top rope for a two count. Owens tried another Pop-Up Powerbomb, but Undertaker got his second wind and then hit a Chokeslam, followed by a Tombstone Piledriver for the victory and keeping his career alive for the time being.
*Sasha Banks d. Charlotte Flair w/Ric Flair & Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match to win the WWE Women's Championship After several contractual loopholes, Charlotte Flair was forced by Shane McMahon to defend the newly rechristened WWE Women's Championship (reverting the Divas Title back to its original name) in a triple threat match against both Becky Lynch and the Boss Sasha Banks. All three women showcased their talents throughout the match, with several near falls throughout. In the end, Sasha broke up Charlotte's attempts at the Figure 8 on Becky and eventually locked in the Banks Statement to Flair, getting the tap out win and gaining the WWE Women's Title.
*Roman Reigns d. Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman by Pinfall to Win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Since winning the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar had come to blows on numerous occasions. It got to the point where Paul Heyman, the advocate for the champion, negotiated a clause in their Wrestlemania contract where if Reigns laid a hand on Lesnar or Heyman, then he would be stripped of his Wrestlemania title shot. Heyman then spent several weeks trying to goad Reigns into fighting him, to save Brock his title match. When Heyman went so far as to insult Reign's family though, Heyman ran afoul of the Samoan dynasty, and was attacked by Roman's father Sika as well as his former tag partner Afa on an episode of Raw. This brought out Lesnar who attacked Reigns, nullifying the clause in the contract. In their Mania match, Lesnar tried to end it early with a series of German Suplexes followed by an F-5, but only got a 1 count. Reigns then hit several big time moves on the Beast Incarnate, and the two would trade several near falls for several minutes. In the end, Lesnar went for a third F-5, but Reigns was able to counter it. Reigns hit three Superman punches to stagger the Beast before finally hitting a Spear for the win and becoming the new WWE Champion to close the show.

Quick update. Dealing with a death in the family and the holiday season will put this on hold for a brief bit. Just a week or so, likely.
Cheers.

WWE Payback May 1, 2016 Allstate Arena Chicago, IL
*Enzo Amore & Big Cass w/Carmella d. The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor], the Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] & The Vaudevillains [Aiden English & Simon Gotch] by Pinfall to Win a Shot at the World Tag Team Championship Recent NXT call ups The Vaudevillains and the team of Enzo and Big Cass were going against veterans The Usos and former tag champions The Ascension in this fatal fourway match to determine the new #1 contenders to the World Tag Team Titles. The Ascension controlled much of the match, as they were familiar with all their former NXT opponents. They were eventually taken out by Big Cass though, leaving the Usos and The Vaudevillains to fight amongst themselves briefly. Eventually English and Gotch hit Jimmy Uso with a Whirling Dervish for a near fall, only for it to be broken up by Enzo. Enzo and Cass then delivered the final blow, hitting Gotch with a How Ya Doin? to pick up the win.
*Antonio Cesaro d. Cody by Pinfall In a standard match, two former IC Champions squared off as the returning Antonio Cesaro fought Cody one on one. Mired in a losing streak (and in fact making his last PPV appearance before his requested release the following month), Cody was overwhelmed by the Swiss Superman, eventually being hit with a Zurich Bomb and pinned clean in the middle of the ring.
*Baron Corbin d. Titus O'Neil by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Shortly after Wrestlemania, the Lone Wolf of NXT had become the Lone Wolf of WWE, making his presence immediately felt by defeating Macho Mandow to become the United States Champion. Against former champion Titus O'Neil, Corbin continued his win streak, catching the big man off the ropes with the devastating End of Days finisher to pick up the win.
*Sasha Banks d. Natalya by Submission to Retain the WWE Women's Championship After winning the newly rechristened WWE Women's Championship at Wrestlemania, The Boss defended her title against Natalya after the former Divas Champion had won a #1 contenders battle royal on Raw surprisingly over Charlotte Flair. The self-professed Queen made her presence felt in the course of the match, attempting to cost Banks the match by attacking her on the outside. The Boss rallied though and hit a Backstabber on Natalya, floating over to a Banks Statement to pick up the title retention.
*AJ Styles d. Dean Ambrose & Chris Jericho by Pinfall to Win a Shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship The feud between AJ Styles and Chris Jericho hadn't ended after Wrestlemania, after Jericho cost Styles his first pinfall loss on the Smackdown after Mania when he faced Dean Ambrose. Styles then returned the favor the following Raw, as he cost Jericho a match with Ambrose. This led one of the newly installed "Vice-Presidents" of WWE, Shane McMahon, to make a triple threat match with the winner getting a shot at the WWE Championship. Ambrose (who had turned face again following a segment with Steve Austin after Raw, in which the Rattlesnake "toasted" the Lunatic Fringe as a tough SOB) nearly won the match after hitting Styles with a Paradigm Shift, but Jericho was able to break up the count at the last minute. Jericho then hit a Codebreaker on Ambrose, only for Styles to hit a Springboard 450 to break up that pin. In the end, Ambrose caught Ambrose with a Phenomenal Forearm, only to slide back to the outside and hit the same move on Jericho moments later in order to get the pin and become #1 contender.
*The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Big E] w/Xavier Woods d. The Social Outcasts [Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas] w/Heath Slater by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles After defeating The New Day at Wrestlemania, the Social Outcasts were granted a World Tag Team Title shot. Despite missing Adam Rose (who had been released shortly after Wrestlemania), Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas nearly knocked off the long running champions on several occasions. However in the end, The New Day hit the Midnight Hour on Axel to pick up the win and retain their titles.
*Kevin Owens d. Sami Zayn by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title The night after Wrestlemania, Sami Zayn had originally been set to defend the Intercontinental Title against The Miz in a rematch, only for Zayn to be blindsided by his old NXT rival Kevin Owens, who had been paid by Miz to take out the new champion. While this led to Miz not receiving his title match (and moving into a brief program with Roman Reigns), it also led to Owens facing Zayn in a match for the IC Title at Payback. The match was reminiscent of their encounters in NXT, though Zayn was able to get far more offense in this match then he did in those. Zayn also nearly won with a Helluva Kick in the corner, but Owens got his foot on the rope at the last minute. Zayn thought he had won and celebrated, grabbing the IC Title in doing so. As the referee explained the situation though and turned his back to put the title in the corner, Owens got to his feet and hit a low blow on Zayn. Owens then delivered a Pop Up Powerbomb to Zayn to pick up the win and become Intercontinental Champion.
*Roman Reigns d. The Miz w/Maryse by Pinfall to Retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship The night after Wrestlemania, when The Miz "forefitted" his chance at a Intercontinental Title rematch against Sami Zayn, he was instead given a non-title match against newly crowned WWE Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns had the match won, but the appearance of Miz's wife (and former Divas Champion Maryse) at ringside caused the match to end in a disqualification after the distraction allowed Miz to hit a blatant low blow on the champion, setting up Reigns challenging Miz at Payback. The former IC Champion faired better than anyone had expected, however he was unable to put away the Big Dog, as Reigns eventually hit a Spear to pick up the win and retain the title to close the show.

WWE Extreme Rules May 22, 2016 Prudential Center Newark, NJ
*Adrian Neville d. Baron Corbin by Disqualification [Corbin Retains the United States Title] Adrian Neville had made his return early from an ankle injury, appearing on an episode of Raw to challenge United States Champion Baron Corbin, calling back on their respective histories in NXT as the foundation of their feud. The Man That Gravity Forgot was able to run circles around the Lone Wolf Champion, frustrating Corbin to the point of viciously assaulting him once he finally got his hands on him. Corbin refused to break a chokehold on Neville, causing him to get disqualified, but keep the title. After the match Corbin tried to hit Neville with the End of Days on the outside, but Neville reversed it into a DDT. He then hit a running spear into Corbin and started a brawl that required security to come out and break up.
*Dean Ambrose d. Chris Jericho by Pinfall in a Steel Cage Match After both the Lunatic Fringe and Y2J had both failed to earn a WWE title match at Payback, they turned their attentions to each other, with Jericho successfully lobbying Stephanie McMahon to "dump" the Ambrose Asylum interview segment and bring back Jericho's own Highlight Reel. Ambrose was the first guest on this newly revamped show, only for Ambrose to destroy the set. A cage match was set between the two, with Jericho doing his best to simply run away from the slightly off kilter Ambrose. In the end, Jericho's heel stalling tactics couldn't stop the Lunatic Fringe from hitting a Paradigm Shift off the second rope into the ring and pinning Jericho for the big win.
*Enzo Amore, Big Cass & The New Day [Xavier Woods & Big E] w/Kofi Kingston & Carmella d. The Vaudevillains [Aiden English & Simon Gotch] & The Golden Truth [R-Truth & Goldust] by Pinfall Despite Enzo and Big Cass being the next challengers for The New Day, the two teams saw themselves forced to team against the combined forces of the Vaudevillains and the team of The Golden Truth in Goldust and R-Truth in a standard 8 Man Tag Team Match. Surprisingly enough the quartet were able to work well together, with Cass launching Woods off the top rope in a modified version of the How Ya Doin? to get the pinfall on Aiden English. After the match though, New Day and Enzo and Cass squared off in center ring in anticipation of their upcoming tag title match.
*Kevin Owens d. Sami Zayn, Antonio Cesaro & The Miz w/Maryse by Pinfall in a Fatal Fourway Match to Retain the WWE Intercontinental Title Despite not winning the WWE Title at Payback, The Miz refocused himself in targeting the Intercontinental Championship, renewing his feud with Sami Zayn in the process and embroiling Kevin Owens as well. Antonio Cesaro managed to insinuate himself into the match by pinning Owens in a non-title match, making this a Fatal Fourway. Miz did his best just to hang with the three former ROH standouts, nearly getting the win by stealing a pinfall after Owens was locked in a Giant Swing from Cesaro. In the end though, Zayn broke up that pinfall. After Zayn hit a Helluva Kick on Miz, Owens broke up the pin with a Swanton from the top, before delivering a Popup Powerbomb to Cesaro to pick up the win and retain the title.
*AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson d. Roman Reigns & The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Pinfall The main event of Raw the night after Payback was Roman Reigns versus AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. However the match was marred by the debut of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Styles' old buddies from New Japan Pro Wrestling, resulting in the match ending in a dq. Styles had initially rebuffed his friends appearance, but the following week on Raw he embraced them, making clear that they were forming the "American Branch" of Bullet Club known as simply "The Club." The trio teamed up against Roman Reigns and the Usos in this six man tag, with Gallows and Anderson proving decisive in the competition, pinning Jey Uso following the Magic Killer after Styles used a referee distraction to hit Uso with a pair of brass knuckles, knocking him out cold. This would lead to Reigns defending the title against Styles the following night on Raw.
*The Undertaker d. Kane by Pinfall The Undertaker's potential retirement tour continued, as he faced his kayfabe brother Kane one more time. Though the Big Red Machine gave it his best effort, THe Undertaker was able to dispatch Kane with little effort, hitting him with a Tombstone Piledriver to pick up the win.
*Shane McMahon d. Sheamus in an Extreme Rules Match to Retain his Job with WWE The night after Wrestlemania, when Shane McMahon came out to give his farewell address to fans, Vince McMahon came out and said he was impressed with his son's athleticism in the Hell in a Cell match against Triple H the night before, so much so that he would reconsider Shane's position in the company, granting him a temporary stay of execution. This did not sit well with Stephanie and Triple H, who wanted Shane gone. Eventually, Triple H made a deal with Shane, that he would be able to have a role in the Authority of WWE if he won a match at Extreme Rules, with Triple H hand picking Sheamus for the job. The Celtic Warrior beat down the Prodigal McMahon at first, but Shane utilized the weapons around ringside to even the odds, eventually hitting the Coast to Coast on Sheamus with a trash can in the face of Sheamus to get the pin and earn himself a seat at the table in the power structure of WWE.
*Sasha Banks d. Charlotte Flair w/Ric Flair in a Ladder Match to Retain the WWE Women's Championship In a rare occurance, a women's match main evented a WWE Pay Per View as Charlotte Flair challenged Sasha Banks in a Ladder Match for the WWE Women's Championship. Charlotte made the decision to dismiss her father from ringside, effectively saying she wanted to beat Sasha on her own. However this was merely a ploy, as Sasha nearly lost the match with NXT star Dana Brooke came to ringside and knocked her from a ladder, costing her the match in the immediacy. Charlotte was unable to capitalize on Dana's interference, though, and Banks eventually recovered, hitting a Backstabber off a Ladder to knock out Charlotte and then climbing the Ladder again to grab the title and retain the Women's Championship to close the show.

NXT Takeover: The End June 8, 2016 Full Sail University Winter Park, FL
*Austin Aries d. Hideo Itami by Submission to Retain the NXT North American Title The Japanese star Hideo Itami had returned from injury, challenging History's Greatest Man, Austin Aries, for his newly won North American championship. Despite Itami hitting a GTS for a near fall, Aries was able to lock him into the Last Chancerry to pick up the submission victory and retain the titles.
*Bobby Roode d. Elias Samson by Pinfall The recently debuted "Glorious" Bobby Roode made his Takeover debut tonight, easily besting the Drifter Elias Samson with a Glorious DDT.
*DIY [Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano] d. The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles After finally winning the NXT Tag Titles at Takeover Dallas, DIY had continued their feud with The Revival, leading to this Tornado Rules match at Takeover The End. In a highly competitive contest, Ciampa hit Wilder with the Fairy Tale Ending to pick up the win for his team and retain the titles.
*Asuka d. Alexa Bliss by Submission to Retain the NXT Women's Title The Empress of Tomorrow retained her undefeated streak as she defended the NXT Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss, locking her in the Rising Sun and defeating her with little difficulty. After the match, Bayley (who was at ringside for commentary) confronted Asuka in anticipation of their long awaited rematch.
*Shinsuke Nakamura d. Buddy Murphy by Pinfall The King of Strong Style had also been undefeated since his debut in NXT, and this continued for this Takeover, easily besting Buddy Murphy after hitting him with a Boma Ye.
*Samoa Joe d. Finn Balor & Apollo Crews in a Triple Threat Match to Win the NXT Championship The previously undefeated Apollo Crews had been set to face Finn Balor in a Champion vs. Champion match leading into this Takeover against Finn Balor, only for Samoa Joe to cost Crews the North American title during a match with Austin Aries, leading to Crews demanding that the match between he and Balor for the NXT Title also include the Samoan Submission Machine. NXT General Manager William Regal agreed, leading to this triple threat match. Apollo nearly won the match after hitting Balor with the Crews Control, but Joe was able to sneak up behind Crews and lock in the Coquina Clutch, choking out the former North American Champion and becoming a two time NXT Champion in the process to close out the show.

WWE Money in the Bank June 19, 2016 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV
*The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Big E] w/Xavier Woods d. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson by Disqualification to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The New Day were set to defend the World Tag Team Titles against Gallows and Anderson, after the Club had taken out the original #1 contenders in Enzo Amore & Big Cass backstage on an episode of Raw. The Japanese imports dominated the early portion of the match, surviving the high flying offense of Kingston to isolate him and come close to gaining near falls. Big E came in and got the hot tag, but was overwhelmed by the 2 on 1 advantage for The Club, but before they could get the win, Enzo and Cass appeared at the entryway, providing a distraction for Kofi to hit Gallows with Trouble in Paradise and then Big E to hit the Big Ending on Karl Anderson for the win.
*Apollo Crews d. Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall Former NXT North American Champion Apollo Crews made his debut on the main roster, taking on former WWE Champion Dolph Ziggler (who was mired in a losing streak in recent months, including failing to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match). Crews looked impressive in the match, which featured both Stephanie and Shane McMahon scouting him in anticipation of the soon to come WWE Draft. Apollo hit the Crews Control for the victory.
*Charlotte Flair d. Becky Lynch, Naomi, Natalya, Dana Brooke & Alicia Fox to win the Women's Money in the Bank Briefcase For the first time ever, WWE held a Money in the Bank match for the Women in the company. Charlotte Flair took advantage of her "biggest fan", Dana Brooke being included in the match, as Brooke helped Charlotte fend off all the other challengers en route to securing the first ever Women's Money in the Bank briefcase, last knocking Naomi and Becky Lynch off the ladder in order to obtain the guaranteed title shot.
*Adrian Neville d. Baron Corbin by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Adrian Neville had returned to WWE and defeated the Lone Wolf Baron Corbin for the United States title in the leadup to Money in the Bank, setting up this rematch for the title. Corbin tried to ground Neville by working over the injured ankle of the champion, but Neville's quickness was able to subdue the Lone Wolf, and Neville eventually hit the Red Arrow to pick up the win.
*Dean Ambrose d. Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Miz, John Cena, AJ Styles & Titus O'Neil to win the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase The men's Money in the Bank match featured 7 former champions at some level in WWE (and the 8th, AJ Styles, had been a champion around the world), making it supposedly the most star studded MITB match in history. The returning John Cena stared across the ring from Styles, setting up their potential dream match for the future, while Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho built on their budding friendship in trying to help each other win the match. In the end, Dean Ambrose was able to knock Jericho and Owens off the ladder and climb a separate one to grab the briefcase and become the newest Mr. Money in the Bank.
*Sasha Banks d. Paige by Submission to Retain the WWE Women's Championship Former Divas Champion Paige made her return on Raw, immediately targeting the current reigning WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks and attempting to claim that the current crop of women superstars owed her for all their success. Banks didn't deny Paige's influence, but said that she had made it on her own merits. The two had a highly competitive match, hampered slightly by Paige's still injured neck that she had rushed to return back from. In the end though, Sasha locked in the Banks Statement after fighting out of an attempt at the PTO to pick up the submission victory.
*Seth Rollins d. Roman Reigns by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship The night after Extreme Rules, after Roman Reigns successfully defended the WWE title against AJ Styles, Seth Rollins had surprisingly returned from his lengthy knee injury and attacked his former Shield teammate, wanting to reclaim the WWE Championship he never got a rematch for back in November. Reigns and Rollins had a back and forth match, with Reigns nearly getting the victory via countout after Spearing Rollins through a barricade on the outside. Eventually though Rollins dodged a second Spear attempt and hit a massive superkick, before delivering a Pedigree to Reigns to pick up the surprise victory and regain the WWE Title. As he celebrated though, Dean Ambrose's music played in the arena...
*Dean Ambrose d. Seth Rollins via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Championship As Rollins turned to face his would be challenger, Mr. Money in the Bank came through the crowd and attacked Rollins from behind with his newly won briefcase. Ambrose then went to the outside and announced that he was cashing in right then and there. In the subsequent match, Ambrose hit a nearly unconscious Rollins with a Paradigm Shift to pick up the win and become WWE Champion, leaving Sin City with the title to close the show.
Off-Camera Title Changes June 20: Charlotte Flair d. Sasha Banks via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Women's Title June 20: Bo Dallas d. Kevin Owens to win the Intercontinental Title June 27: The Miz d. Bo Dallas to win the Intercontinental Title

WWE Battleground July 24, 2016 Verizon Center Washington, D.C.
*Rusev w/Lana d. Adrian Neville & Baron Corbin by Submission to Win the WWE United States Title Leading into Battleground, a new WWE brand split was established with the two McMahon children taking control of the respective brands: Stephanie running Raw and Shane running Smackdown. Each also chose their own general manager, with Stephanie turning things over to Triple H on an interim basis while Shane naming the retired Daniel Bryan as the new GM of Smackdown. The roster was also divided, with several titles moving to become exclusive to either Raw or Smackdown. Raw would have the chance to win the United States Title back in the form of Rusev facing both Adrian Neville and Baron Corbin for the title. Their continued feud with each other would be the catalyst for the Bulgarian Brute to regain the US Title, as he eventually locked Neville in the renamed Accolade to pick up the win and bring the US Title back to Raw.
*Bayley & Sasha Banks d. Charlotte Flair & Dana Brooke by Pinfall The night after Money in the Bank, Charlotte Flair had used her "biggest fan" Dana Brooke to help her when she cashed in the first ever Woman's Money in the Bank Contract en route to regaining the WWE Women's Championship. Faced with a 2 on 1 prospect, Sasha Banks called up from NXT her old friend/rival, Bayley, in order to provide backup. The "Hugger" of WWE proved herself the equal of her main roster counterparts, hitting Dana Brooke with a Bayley to Belly Suplex to pick up the win for her team as Banks and Flair would continue to feud.
*The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods] w/Big E d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso], The Vaudevillains [Aiden English & Simon Gotch] & American Alpha [Jason Jordan & Chad Gable] by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles In another contest to decide the fate of championships, The World Tag Team Champions the New Day defended their titles against one other team from Raw (The Vaudevillains) and two teams from Smackdown (the Usos and American Alpha). In the end, Raw would win again, as The New Day pinned the Vaudevillains following a Limit Break Elbow from Woods to English to retain the titles.
*Becky Lynch d. Naomi by Submission In a showcase of two of the best of Smackdown's new Women's Division, Becky Lynch defeated Naomi in an even match, eventually getting her to tap out to the Dis-Arm-Her armbar.
*The Miz w/Maryse d. Sami Zayn by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title Sami Zayn won a battle royal on Raw to determine who would challenge The Miz (who had been drafted to Smackdown) for the Intercontinental Title. Zayn came close to regaining the championship he had beaten Miz for at Wrestlemania, but the addition of The Miz's wife Maryse to the equation changed everything and allowed for a distraction that gave Miz the opening to hit the Skull Crushing Finale and to pick up the win and title retention for Smackdown.
*Triple H d. Bo Dallas by Pinfall For several weeks, Triple H and Stephanie (as well as their daughters at home) had been harrased by a stalker that remain unidentified (though clues seemed to indicate the Wyatt Family.) In the build to Battleground, similar video clips had begun appearing during Bo Dallas' matches, including seemingly helping him win the Intercontinental Title from Kevin Owens. This led Triple H to believe that Bo Dallas was responsible for stalking his family, leading him to take out the former Social Outcast in a No Disqualification match. Triple H utterly obliterated Dallas and quickly pinned him following a Pedigree. However when he went to inflict more punishment on the man, the video clips appeared again, and Bray Wyatt suddenly made his return to the WWE and attacked Triple H, hitting him with Sister Abigail's Kiss and leaving him lying in the center of the ring.
*Enzo Amore, Big Cass & John Cena d. The Club [AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson] by Pinfall After their interactions at Money in the Bank, John Cena and AJ Styles had engaged in a War of Words between the two of them. There was no one on one confrontation, instead the two were set to meet in a six man tag match, with Cena teaming with Enzo Amore & Big Cass and Styles enlisting the help of his stablemates in The Club. It would be these two tag teams that would dominate most of the match, with Gallows and Anderson even hitting the Magic Killer on Enzo Amore for a near fall, before all hell broke loose and all 6 men entered the match. In the end, Cena caught Gallows with an Attitude Adjustment to pick up the win for his team, but AJ's glare from the entryway proved that the issue between he and Cena was far from over.
*Dean Ambrose d. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Following Dean Ambrose's cash in victory over Seth Rollins to become WWE Champion, he began a resurgence of the feud between the former members of the Shield, with the added complication of Rollins and Reigns both being drafted to Raw and attempting to bring the WWE Championship back to the red brand (as Ambrose had been the first draft pick of Smackdown). Rollins was taken out early, making the match between Reigns and Ambrose for a bit, however before Roman could make a comeback and finish off the champion, Brock Lesnar made his return, seen for the first time since Wrestlemania. Brock made a beeline for Roman and began brawling with him all the way to the back, leaving Rollins and Ambrose to fight it out between themselves. Rollins tried to get the win with the Curb Stomp, but Ambrose was able to dodge the move and catch Rollins with a Paradigm Shift to pick up the win and retain his title to close the show.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II August 20, 2016 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Austin Aries d. The Brian Kendrick by Submission to Retain the NXT North American Title Two technical and high flying wizards challenged for the NXT North American Title as the returning Brian Kendrick faced Austin Aries. Kendrick's unique hybrid offense caught the champion off guard for a time, but he quickly reasserted control and eventually locked Kendrick in the Last Chancery to pick up the win and retain the title.
*The Authors of Pain [Akam & Rezar] w/Paul Ellering d. The Mighty Aussies [Nick Miller & Shane Thorne] by Pinfal Former Road Warriors manager Paul Ellering had made his NXT debut with a new tag team known as the Authors of Pain. The duo of Akam and Rezar had decimated every team put in front of them, and against the duo of Shane Thorne and Nick Miller they had the same reaction, eventually picking up the win with the Last Chapter.
*Bobby Roode d. Andrade El Idolo by Pinfall In a standard match, The Glorious Bobby Roode continued his run to the top of NXT, as he successfully defeated Andrade El Idolo with the Glorious DDT to continue his undefeated streak.
*Ember Moon d. Billie Kay w/Peyton Royce by Pinfall The highly touted prospect Ember Moon made her debut here, facing Billie Kay of the team the Iiconics. Moon had little difficulty dealing with the Australian star, finishing her off with the Eclipse to pick up her debut win.
*DIY [Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano] d. The Bollywood Boyz [Samir & Sunil Singh] by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles The duo of Samir and Sunil Singh had surprised many people by winning a triple threat match also involving the Revival to earn a shot against DIY for the NXT Tag Team Titles. Their luck ran out against DIY however, as Ciampa and Gargano hit Sunil Singh with the Meet in the Middle to retain their titles in relatively easy fashion. However their celebration was cut short by the returning Authors of Pain, who ran out and laid out the champions, making their intentions for the titles clear.
*Asuka d. Liv Morgan by Submission to Retain the NXT Women's Championship The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka, continued her historic run as NXT Women's Champion, locking Liv Morgan in the Rising Sun to retain her title.
*Shinsuke Nakamura d. Samoa Joe by Pinfall to Win the NXT Championship The undefeated Shinsuke Nakamura challenged NXT Champion Samoa Joe for the title at Takeover Brooklyn II, and the two men had a definite clash of styles. Joe nearly handed the King of Strong Style his first loss, locking him in the Coquina Clutch and nearly choking him out. However, in the end, Nakamura was able to escape to the ropes and break the hold. Shinsuke then hit a Boma-Ye on Samoa Joe that staggered the champion, before delivering a second one that knocked him out, winning the NXT title and remaining undefeated to close the show.
