Wrestlemania 33: Night One April 1, 2017 Camping World Stadium Orlando, FL
*The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] w/Jim Cornette d. The Bar [Sheamus & Cesaro] by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles The opening match of Night One of Wrestlemania saw The Revival come out with a surprise for the World Tag Team Champions of Sheamus and Cesaro, as Hall of Fame manager Jim Cornette would stand in the corner of Dawson and Wilder for one night only to "have their back." The two teams had a great opening tag match, with The Bar isolating Dawson early on and working over an existing back injury. Wheeler eventually made the hot tag and cleared house, but a 4 man brawl ensued that the referee had trouble clearing out. While Cesaro and Dawson fought on the outside, Sheamus tossed Cornette into the ring and attempted to beat him down, stealing Cornette's ever present tennis racket and swinging for Wheeler's head. Wheeler ducked the racket as Cornette snuck up behind and low blowed Sheamus, causing the Irishman to drop the racket. Wheeler then smashed the loaded racket over the head of Sheamus, knocking him out as Cornette got rid of the evidence, and pinned the champ for the 1-2-3 to regain the World Tag Titles.
*Randy Orton d. Dean Ambrose & Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall to Earn a Shot at the WWE Championship Three of the top superstars on Smackdown, all former WWE Champions in their own right, competed in a triple threat match with the winner receiving a future shot at said title. Ambrose controlled the early going, tossing Ziggler out of the ring and focusing on the Viper, but Ziggler hit the ring before the Lunatic Fringe could make the pin. Ziggler and Ambrose fought between themselves, with Ziggler hitting a Superkick on Ambrose, but then falling victim to an RKO from a revived Orton. Orton then caught Ambrose with an RKO after a short exchange, picking up the win.
*"The Demon" Finn Balor d. The Brian Kendrick w/Alicia Fox by Pinfall to Win the United States Championship For several weeks, The Brian Kendrick along with his new paramour Alicia Fox had been making life difficult for Finn Balor on Raw, insulting his Irish heritage and defeating him on an episode of Raw. This led Balor to challenge Kendrick to a match for the US Title at Wrestlemania, only for Balor to bring out his demon persona. The Demon made short work of the US Champion, who tried to jump him before the bell, and Balor eventually won the match and the US Title with the Coup de Grace.
*Shinsuke Nakamura d. Sami Zayn by Pinfall One Year prior, Shinsuke Nakamura had made his NXT debut at Takeover: Dallas against Sami Zayn. Now for his main roster debut, Zayn made the challenge to Nakamura once again to face him, this time at Wrestlemania. The two men had a repeat of their encounter from the previous year, with both men having a chance of winning the match, especially after Zayn got a near fall following two Helluva Kicks in the corner. Nakamura barely managed to get a shoulder up though, leading to him eventually hitting a Boma Ye on Zayn to pick up the win.
*Alexa Bliss d. Mickie James by Pinfall to Retain the World Women's Championship Alexa Bliss had turned her back on her mentor/backup, former Divas Champion Mickie James, saying that she had used James for everything she was worth. James however proved her wrong, defeating Bliss in less than 20 seconds in a non-title match on Smackdown, leading to this title match. Bliss fared much better against James in the title defense. She took advantage of a missed dive to the outside and worked over James' neck, eventually reversing an attempt at a Mickie DT into a DDT over her own before delivering Twisted Bliss for the victory.
*Seth Rollins d. Triple H by Pinfall Since October, Triple H had been feuding with his "creation" Seth Rollins, largely due to Rollins not helping Triple H during his feud with Bray Wyatt earlier in the year. Rollins had returned at the Royal Rumble first during the NXT Takeover special in attacking Triple H in the ring, and then with Hunter attacking Rollins when he attempted to enter the Rumble match. Things had been moved even further when Samoa Joe came onto Raw to attack Rollins on behalf of Triple H. Eventually Raw show runner Stephanie McMahon ordered her husband to face Rollins to finish the feud between the two of them, causing Triple H to stand down as the de facto GM of the show. The match between the two was lengthy, and also involved Samoa Joe attempting to get involved on behalf of his benefactor. In the end, Rollins was able to fight off the Game and hit him not only with a Curb Stomp but with his own Pedigree to pick up the win.
*Jinder Mahal & The Singh Brothers [Sumil & Samir Singh] d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods] by Pinfall Former tag team champions The New Day continued their feud with the self-professed Modern Day Maharajah Jinder Mahal, and his newfound flunkies The Singh Brothers, in this six man tag match. Jinder and the Singhs targeted Kofi Kingston, specifically the injured knee that Jinder had found the previous month. Woods was able to get a hot tag, teaming with Big E to clean house, but Kofi's knee injury came into play again when he missed a Trouble in Paradise on Jinder, as Mahal hit the Khallas for the victory.
*Chris Jericho d. Kevin Owens by Submission to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho had won the Royal Rumble match and was seemingly going to elect not to face his best friend Kevin Owens for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania, even going so far as to say so during the "Festival of Friendship" in Las Vegas the night after Elimination Chamber. However, Owens' paranoia kicked in, and he assaulted Jericho at the same Festival, leaving him being stretchered out. Jericho returned at Fast Lane and made his intentions to challenge Owens clear, leading to this match. Jericho came out of the gates quickly, attacking Owens with ferocity, but nearly being caught by surprise when Owens attempted a Pop-Up Powerbomb early on. The match slowed down a bit and Owens would take control, using his varied offense to keep Jericho at bay. Owens missed a Swanton off the top that allowed Jericho a chance to make a comeback, hitting a Lionsault for a nearfall. Jericho went for the Walls of Jericho, only for Owens to power out and then lock on his own version of the Boston Crab for a near submission victory. Despite his hurting back, Jericho powered through and after a final exchange, locked Owens into the Lion Tamer in the center of the ring, earning the tapout victory and winning the World Heavyweight Title in impressive fashion with a strong match to close out Night One of Wrestlemania 33.

Wrestlemania 33: Night Two April 2, 2017 Camping World Stadium Orlando, FL
*Apollo Crews d. The Miz w/Maryse by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title Smackdown star Apollo Crews had continued his rise to the top of the blue brand, entering into a feud with The Miz over the Intercontinental Title over the last several weeks. Despite Miz defeating Crews in the previous PPV event (with help from his wife Maryse), Crews was more than a match for the A-Lister in this match, and eventually hit the Crews Control to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time in a decent opener.
*AJ Styles d. Shawn Michaels by Pinfall The feud between former WWE Champion AJ Styles and Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels had been brewing for several months, to the point where Styles continued insults of Michaels' legacy (and eventually even his family) led to Michaels costing Styles the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble. This led to Smackdown showrunner Shane McMahon to ban Michaels from events temporarily, unless he accepted Styles' challenge to come out of retirement for a match. Michaels refused to do so initially, wanting to honor his pledge of retirement to the Undertaker, but relented when the Phenom granted his permission for "One More Round." The match between the two was highly athletic, with Michaels showing very little ring rust against the former champion, and even hitting a Sweet Chin Music to counter a Phenomenal Forearm for a near fall. In the end, Styles hit the Styles Clash to pick up the win. After the match though, Styles shook Michaels' hand, turning face again as the two men respected each other.
*Braun Strowman Won the 25 Man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal The annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal turned into a showcase for the Monster Amongst Men, Braun Strowman, as he steamrolled through most of the field en route to winning with little difficulty, last eliminating his former Wyatt Family team member, Luke Harper. He then made a motion that he was coming for championship gold in the near future.
*Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman d. Goldberg by Pinfall Since Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar had been haunted by the squash match loss he had suffered at the hands of the returning Goldberg. This was even despite the fact that he got a measure of revenge against Da Man when he attacked him during his match with Goldberg at the Royal Rumble. This led Goldberg to issue another challenge to Lesnar for Wrestlemania, enticing him with the chance to eliminate the "red in his ledger." This match, unlike their encounter at Survivor Series, was a longer, harder hitting affair, with both men beating the snot out of the other, including Goldberg hitting a Spear to Lesnar through the barricade on the outside. In the end though, Lesnar was able to reverse a Jackhammer attempt into a second F-5 to pick up the win and avenge his loss.
*Shaquille O'Neal d. The Big Show by Pinfall The feud between the giants of athletics, The Big Show and Shaquille O'Neal, ran all the way back to the previous year's Wrestlemania, when Shaq showed up in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and ruined Big Show's plans to win it. Shaquille O'Neal had then gotten into a physical fight with the Giant in recent weeks, leading to this match. In a short match, Shaq held his own against the big man, and eventually even slammed him to the ground and then dropped an elbow off the second rope to pick up the win at Wrestlemania, sending the Giant sulking off in the process.
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] d. American Alpha [Chad Gable & Jason Jordan], The Club [Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson] & The Fashion Police [Tyler Breeze & Fandango] in a Fourway Ladder Match to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles This match was originally scheduled to be a triple threat ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Titles between three top contenders, but the match was changed at the last minute by Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan, who announced a brand new signing for the blue brand in the form of the returning Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff Hardy. Two of the progenitors of the modern ladder match made the contest far more interesting, and in the end the Hardys were able to turn back the clock and win the WWE Tag Titles to the surprise of everyone.
*Bayley d. Charlotte Flair & Sasha Banks by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Women's Championship Since Bayley had won the Women's Championship from Charlotte Flair, the self-professed Queen of WWE was looking to get her title back, while Sasha Banks challenged her friend and longtime rival Bayley for the title at Wrestlemania. Eventually Raw show runner Stephanie McMahon made a triple threat match for the title which most experts put the champion at a disadvantage in. Despite this, Bayley availed herself well and managed to pull off the upset, hitting Charlotte with a Bayley-to-Belly to retain her title and establish herself as a legitimate champion in women's wrestling.
*Bray Wyatt d. John Cena by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship Bray Wyatt had won the #1 contendership for the WWE Title by beating AJ Styles at Elimination Chamber, and faced down John Cena for the gold. Cena decried Wyatt as a "false prophet" while still making clear that he respected him as an athlete. Wyatt for his part promised that he would fulfill his destiny to become champion. After a back and forth match that saw Wyatt narrowly escape the STF from Cena, he eventually hit Cena with the Sister Abigail to win the WWE Championship for the first time in his career.
*Roman Reigns d. The Undertaker by Pinfall En route to Wrestlemania, The Undertaker had appeared on an episode of Raw to challenge Roman Reigns to a match at the Showcase of the Immortals. He reasoned that if it was to be his last match (given that Undertaker was still under the edict that the next match he lost would be his last), he would rather challenge the best in the business and fail that beat inferior competition. Reigns accepted, setting the match for Mania. The two men had a hard hitting match, but it was clear as the match wore on that the Undertaker was running out of gas against Reigns. In the end, Undertaker called for Reigns to finish him off, with the Big Dog hitting a Spear for the victory. Undertaker then left his hat and gloves in the ring, before walking off into the mists one last time to close the show.
Off-Camera Title Changes: April 4: Naomi d. Alexa Bliss for the Women's World Championship April 5: Ember Moon Stripped of the NXT Women's Title April 12: Pete Dunne d. Aleister Black for the International Title

WWE Payback April 30, 2017 SAP Center San Jose, CA
*Drew McIntyre d. Seth Rollins by Pinfall Former WWE superstar Drew McIntyre had made his surprise return to the company the night after Wrestlemania, aligning himself with Samoa Joe against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns ostensibly at the behest of Triple H (who though he was acknowledged as co-owner of the company, ceased making regular appearances on television after losing to Rollins at Wrestlemania). McIntyre's first match back would be against Rollins at Payback, and the self-professed Scottish Psychopath showed off a far more aggressive style against the newly minted Kingslayer. Rollins made a comeback and went for the Curb Stomp against McIntyre, but Drew was able to dodge out of the way and hit a sudden kick straight to the jaw (later to be named the Claymore) of Rollins that KO'ed him, giving the upset win to McIntyre.
*Big E w/Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods d. Jinder Mahal w/The Singh Brothers by Pinfall A superstar shakeup had been initiated following Wrestlemania that would, among other things, send The New Day as a group to Smackdown. Before that took effect, though, Big E had lingering business with Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers, leading to this match. With Kingston and Woods on the outside to run interference, Big E was able to dispose of the Modern Day Maharajah, hitting him with the Big Ending to pick up the win.
*Finn Balor d. Dean Ambrose by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title One of the stars making his way from Smackdown to Raw was former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, who was granted a shot at United States Champion Finn Balor after challenging him the night after Wrestlemania. Ambrose and Balor had a back and forth match that saw Ambrose nearly win the title after hitting a Paradigm Shift. Balor was able to get his foot on the rope though and eventually caught Ambrose with a Sling Blade followed by a Coup de Grace to pick up the win.
*The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] d. The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] by Disqualification to Retain the World Tag Team Titles After regaining the World Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania, The Revival now faced new competition in the form of The Club, Gallows and Anderson, who were making their way from Smackdown to Raw. The Club attempted to use every underhanded tactic they could against Dawson and Wilder, but were stymied by the old school brawlers. In the end, after The Revival hit Anderson with a Shatter Machine that would have secured them the victory, Gallows jumped in and drilled both of the champions in the back with a Steel Chair, netting a disqualification loss but leaving the champions lying for the moment.
*Bayley d. Nia Jax by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Women's Championship Fresh off her unlikely victory at Wrestlemania, Bayley faced down the Irresistible Force known as Nia Jax at Payback, and was once again cast as the Underdog in the match. Jax easily dominated much of the match, but the champion used a Rope-A-Dope strategy to try and wear down the challenger, eventually causing her to miss a splash off the second rope. Bayley then hit a crossbody of her own off the top to pick up the win and escape with her title.
*Roman Reigns & Samoa Joe Wrestled to a No Contest After Wrestlemania, Roman Reigns had entered into a feud with Samoa Joe after coming to the aide of his former Shield teammate Seth Rollins. This led to a match between the Samoan Destroyer and the Big Dog at Payback 2017, only the match never really got underway, as Joe attacked Reigns before the bell. The two men brawled up and down the entryway and eventually into the back, the match being declared a No Contest after several minutes of brawling.
*Kevin Owens d. Chris Jericho by Pinfall in a No Disqualification Match to Win the World Heavyweight Championship The rematch between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship would be conducted under No Disqualification Rules, and both men took full advantage of the stipulation. The brawl between them went throughout the crowd, into the concessions stand and back into the ring, with Owens and Jericho each using weapons in an old school bloody brawl. In the end, Owens hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Jericho to pick up the win and regain the title, only for KO to be confronted by Goldberg (who was set to receive a title shot the following week at the International Series event in Mexico), who speared the champion and stood tall to end the show.

WWE International Series: Showdown in Monterrey May 7, 2017 Arena Monterrey Monterrey, Mexico
*Apollo Crews d. The Miz & Sami Zayn by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Championship The Showdown in Monterrey started with a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Title, as Sami Zayn (who had moved from Raw to Smackdown) joined the ongoing feud between The Miz and Apollo Crews over the title that had lingered since Wrestlemania. The addition of Zayn into the mix drastically changed the dynamic between Crews and Miz, but didn't alter the result, as Miz was pinned again by Crews following a Crews Control Powerslam to pick up the win.
*Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins d. Drew McIntyre & Samoa Joe by Disqualification The former Shield teammates of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, who had formed an unlikely partnership in recent weeks, faced the duo of Drew McIntyre and Samoa Joe in a continuation of their individual feuds on Raw. To the surprise of many, Reigns and Rollins were able to fall back into being a team relatively easily, despite the Shield having broken up almost 3 years earlier, to the point where McIntyre delivered a blatant low blow to Reigns in order to get out of the match, ending it in disqualification. After the match though, Joe choked out Rollins with a Coquina Clutch while McIntyre drilled Reigns with a Claymore.
*Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper d. Randy Orton & Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall Following his win at Wrestlemania, newly crowned WWE Champion Bray Wyatt had entered a feud with Randy Orton over the championship, as Orton had been crowned #1 contender on night one of that event. Orton teamed with Dolph Ziggler ahead of Orton's match with the leader of the Wyatt Family, while Bray teamed with Luke Harper. It was Harper who would carry the load of the match and pull out the victory, catching Ziggler with a Discus Clothesline while Orton and Wyatt fought on the outside.
*Pete Dunne d. Alexander Wolfe w/Sanity by Pinfall to Retain the International Championship Sanity's Alexander Wolfe challenged Pete Dunne for the International Championship, and the Bruiserweight was able to fight off the 3 on 1 advantage from Sanity, hitting the Bitter End on Wolfe to pick up the victory.
*Alexa Bliss d. Sasha Banks by Pinfall Alexa Bliss had been drafted to Raw from Smackdown following the Superstar Shakeup, and immediately set her eyes on the WWE Women's Champion Bayley. The first part of her quest to dethrone Bayley put her against Sasha Banks. The Legit Boss controlled the first portion of the match, but when Nia Jax made her way to ringside, providing a distraction long enough for Alexa to catch Sasha with a reverse neckbreaker followed by Twisted Bliss for the win.
*John Cena & AJ Styles d. The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] by Pinfall After AJ Styles had shown respect to Shawn Michaels following their Wrestlemania contest, Styles was turned on by his former teammates in The Club, Gallows and Anderson. This led Styles to challenge them to a tag match, promising to find a partner to take them out on their way to Raw. Styles' partner wound up being former 10 time WWE Champion John Cena, something that neither Gallows or Anderson expected, and the duo of Styles and Cena worked well enough together, as Cena scored the pinfall following an Avalanche AA on Luke Gallows.
*Rey Mysterio & The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods] by Pinfall The New Day immediately challenged the unlikely WWE Tag Team Champions of The Hardy Boyz upon their arrival to Smackdown, leading to this six man tag team match. WWE legend Rey Mysterio made his return for one night only in Monterrey, teaming with the Hardys against the former World Tag Team Champions. In a highly competitive match, The Hardys eventually pulled out the victory after Jeff hit Kofi with a Swanton, after Kingston was hit from a 619 from Mysterio.
*Goldberg d. Kevin Owens by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship In a surprise to many people, Kevin Owens managed to actually hold his own against Goldberg in the opening seconds of the match, dodging an attempted Spear and countering a second one with a pop up powerbomb. Owens' offense stymied Goldberg early on, but the appearance of Chris Jericho on the entryway distracted Owens long enough for Goldberg to finally hit a Spear on KO and follow up with a Jackhammer to pick up the win, becoming World Champion for the first time in nearly 14 years to close the show.

NXT Takeover: Chicago May 20, 2017 Allstate Arena Chicago, IL
*Ruby Riott d. Liv Morgan by Pinfall Longtime NXT star Liv Morgan was attempting to find her way in the developmental brand, trying to form a friendship with Ruby Riott. The two frenemies were set to face each other in a match where the winner would get a shot at the NXT Women's Championship in the future, and despite Morgan's best efforts, she got blasted with an Enziguri and then hit with a Riott Kick, giving Ruby the win. After the match though, Ruby shook Liv's hand in solidarity
*Pete Dunne d. Tyler Bate by Pinfall to Retain the International Championship In a show of British strongstyle, Pete Dunne successfully defended the International Championship against his British rival Tyler Bate, competing in a hard hitting match that saw Dunne win after hitting the Bitter End.
*Sanity [Eric Young & Killian Dane] d. Ho Ho Lun & Tian Bing by Pinfall to Earn a Shot at the NXT Tag Team Titles In a match to determine the #1 contenders to the NXT Tag Team Titles, Sanity faced off against the dual Chinese recruits, Ho Ho Lun and Tian Bing. Despite the high flying offense from the Hong Kong imports, the strength of Killian Dane was impossible to overcome, and he won after hitting a massive Vader Bomb from the corner, squashing Tian Bing for the win.
*Authors of Pain [Akam & Rezar] w/Paul Ellering d. The Ascension [Konnor & Viktor] by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles As the Authors of Pain had been arguably the most dominant tag team in NXT history, they faced off against another returning team who had been equally as dominant in The Ascension. Konnor and Viktor provided the biggest challenge that Akam and Rezar had faced up to that point, and timely intervention from their manager Paul Ellering allowed the AOP to hit Konnor with the Final Chapter to pick up the win.
*Asuka d. Ember Moon by Submission to Win the 7th Match of the Best of Seven Series for the NXT Women's Title Due to the unsanctioned nature of Ember Moon's victory over Asuka just prior to Wrestlemania, NXT General Manager William Regal had stripped Moon of the NXT Women's Championship. Rather than return it to Asuka, however, Regal declared the title vacant and ordered a best of seven series for the vacant title. Moon had shocked many by winning the first match in the series, but then had dropped three straight to Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow had failed to gain victory on the next two matches, leading to the seventh and final match deciding the outcome at Takeover: Chicago. After a lengthy matchup between the two women, Asuka managed to catch Moon unawares with a Blue Mist to the eyes, before locking in the Rising Sun and securing the victory via tapout, regaining the Women's Championship.
*Bobby Roode d. Hideo Itami & Aleister Black by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship The Glorious Bobby Roode was originally set to defend the title against both Hideo Itami and Austin Aries in this triple threat match, but Aries was suspended by NXT General Manager William Regal for undisclosed actions (in reality it was due to Aries requesting his release the previous week), with Aries being replaced by former International Champion Aleister Black. Black's addition nearly proved fateful, as he knocked out Itami with the Black Mass kick and narrowly missed out on a fall, with Roode breaking up the three at the last possible moment. Roode then hit Black with a Glorious DDT to pick up the win and retain his title.
*Tomasso Ciampa d. Johnny Gargano by Referee Stoppage On the Takeover prior to Wrestlemania 33, Tomasso Ciampa had jumped his DIY team mate Johnny Gargano and tossed him through a video wall, violently breaking up their team due to a combination of jealousy over Gargano's success and a desire for his own success at chasing "Goldie", aka the NXT Championship. The two met in a No Disqualification Match and the violence quickly raised the stakes, with Gargano being busted open early on and Ciampa refusing to quit hurting Johnny Wrestling. Eventually, Gargano seemingly passed out from blood loss, forcing the referee to call off the match and award the contest to Ciampa to a stunned silent crowd to close the show.

WWE Backlash May 21, 2017 Allstate Arena Chicago, IL
*Shinsuke Nakamura d. Baron Corbin by Pinfall Shinsuke Nakamura continued his winning ways on the main roster, facing off against former US Champion Baron Corbin in the opening match of Backlash. Corbin stormed out of the gate against the former NXT champion, but Nakamura was able to out wrestle Corbin and eventually hit a Boma Ye to knock out the Lone Wolf and pick up the win.
*Charlotte Flair d. Becky Lynch by Submission Charlotte Flair had come over from Raw to Smackdown in the Superstar Shakeup, and had immediately set her sights on winning the Women's World Championship. However, before she could take on Naomi for the title, she had to face her old NXT rival in Becky Lynch first. The two had a submission showdown, with Becky working on Charlotte's arm and Charlotte working on Becky's knee. In the end, Flair was able to lock in the Figure-8 first and obtain the tapout victory.
*Apollo Crews d. Luke Harper w/Erick Rowan by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title With the leader of the Wyatt Family as the new WWE Champion, Luke Harper attempted to match his feat by becoming Intercontinental Champion, challenging Apollo Crews for the title. In a hard hitting match, Harper came the closest anyone had to straight up beating Crews since his callup a year earlier, but Apollo managed to kick out of Harper's Discus Clothesline in a near fall. Crews eventually turned the tides and hit Harper with the Crews Control after taking out Rowan on the outside, picking up the hard earned victory.
*The Usos [Jey & Jimmy Uso] d. American Alpha [Chad Gable & Jason Jordan] by Pinfall American Alpha had been in something of a losing streak since shortly before Wrestlemania, and that streak continued unfortunately against the far more aggressive Uso team, who hit a double superkick on Chad Gable and finished him off with a big splash. After the match, Gable and Jordan were surprisingly approached by WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle who was at ringside, and who was seemingly offering his services as a coach. He left with the duo.
*Naomi d. Carmella by Pinfall to Retain the Women's World Championship Carmella had unexpectedly won the #1 contendership to the Women's World Championship on an episode of Smackdown, setting up this match for the title at Backlash. Carmella actually managed to avail herself decently well, but Naomi eventually hit her Samoan Drop finisher to pick up the victory. After the match, Charlotte Flair appeared in the entryway and signaled that she was coming for Naomi's title next.
*The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Big E] w/Xavier Woods d. The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The New Day had immediately staked a claim at challenging The Hardy Boyz for the WWE Tag Team Titles, and despite losing a six man tag at Showdown at Monterrey, had earned a title shot via a Fatal Fourway match on Smackdown. Kingston and Big E were an even match for the legendary Hardy Boyz, with Kofi even surviving a Twist of Fate from Matt. In the end, Big E was able to hit Jeff with a Big Ending while Kofi caught Matt with a Trouble in Paradise, picking up the win and gaining the WWE Tag Titles. After the match, the two teams shook hands as a sign of sportsmanship.
*AJ Styles & Sami Zayn Wrestled to a No Contest Something of a dream match between Sami Zayn and AJ Styles sadly ended before it got a chance to begin, as Baron Corbin and The Miz stormed the ring and attacked both men, tired of being "overlooked" and wanting to make their mark as the big dogs of Smackdown.
*Bray Wyatt d. Randy Orton by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Randy Orton had earned a WWE Title shot at Wrestlemania against Bray Wyatt, and after several weeks of waiting finally got his match. Initially Wyatt had told Harper and Rowan to stay in the back, as he wanted to prove that he could defeat Orton without any help. For a while it seemed like Wyatt would fulfill this vow, as he and Orton were evenly matched, with neither able to gain an advantage and Wyatt even kicking out of an RKO. Towards the end of the match though, the referee was inadvertantly knocked out and Orton hit another RKO. Orton was unable to get a count from the downed referee though, and in the confusion Erick Rowan came down to attack the Viper. Orton fended off Rowan's attack though, but turned right around into Bray's waiting arms as Wyatt hit him with Sister Abigail's Kiss just as the ref came too, getting the pinfall victory. As Bray celebrated though, he saw Rowan slinking to the back and looked down in confusion at Orton to close the show.

Bayley, Nia Jax & Sasha Banks in a Fatal Fourway Match to Win the WWE Women's Championship Former Women's World Champion Alexa Bliss had set out on a quest to become the WWE Women's Champion, putting her on a collision course with current champion Bayley. Complicating matters, though, was the presence of their respective tag partners (Nia Jax and Sasha Banks) in the title picture as well. This led to a Fatal Fourway match at Extreme Rules, with the partnerships tested for the title. Banks nearly had the match won when she locked Bliss in the Banks Statement, only for Bayley to instinctively break up the submission attempt. Bayley and Banks then argued briefly before Nia Jax clotheslined both of them, forcing them to team up to take out the Irresistible Force. As they managed a double suplex on the larger Jax, Bayley was suddenly rolled up with Sasha out of position, allowing Bliss to score the surprise fall and win the title.

A series of No Contests and DQ Finishes between the two teams led to a Bullrope match for the belts, ensuring that there would be a winner between the two teams. After a lengthy back and forth between the two, Owens suddenly caught Jericho with a Pop Up Powerbomb to pick up the win. Miscommunication between the former World Tag Team Champions would prove to be their undoing, as it allowed Balor to hit a Shotgun Dropkick into the back of Cesaro, sending Sheamus head first into an exposed turnbuckle in the corner. Balor then rolled up Cesaro for the pinfall victory to retain his title.
*Goldberg d. The Big Show by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship For the first time in over a decade, the two former WCW mainstays fought against each other for the World Heavyweight Championship as Goldberg defended against The Big Show. After the match though, Goldberg was ambushed from behind by Rusev, who made clear that he was coming after the title.
*Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre & Andrade d. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins by Pinfall in a 3 on 2 Handicap Extreme Rules Match The feud involving Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins against Samoa Joe and Drew McIntyre reached its early apex, as both teams were going to face each other in an Extreme Rules match, with each team going to pick a mystery third member. For Reigns and Rollins, they were attempting to get the band back together in the form of the Shield, asking Dean Ambrose to be their third man. Ambrose was initially reluctant, still not trusting Rollins nearly 3 years to the day after Rollins betrayal of the group. On the go home episode of Raw, though, it appeared that Ambrose had come around as he saved Rollins from a 2 on 1 beatdown from Joe and McIntyre. For the Pay Per View, however, Ambrose no showed, leaving Reigns and Rollins high and dry. The third man for Joe and McIntyre was current NXT North American Champion Andrade. In the 3 on 2 environment, Rollins and Reigns did the best they could, but were eventually overwhelmed as Joe choked out Rollins while Reigns was pinned following a Claymore Kick after Hammerlock DDT. The three heels then stood tall to end the show.

Maryse then worked over Naomi's knee, locking her in a Single Leg Crab in an attempt at a submission, but Naomi was able to fight her way to the ropes. *The Miz d. Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Big E, Jeff Hardy & Sami Zayn to Win the Men's Money in the Bank Contract The men's Money in the Bank match had largely devolved into two warring factions, with Miz, Corbin and Ziggler allied against Styles, Nakamura and Sami Zayn. Adding Big E and Jeff Hardy to the mix led to a volatile combination and a car crash of a ladder match. Hardy seemingly had a chance to win, but took out three of the other competitors with a massive dive to the outside from the top of a ladder. This temporarily opened the door for Baron Corbin, but the Lone Wolf was intercepted by a returning Apollo Crews, who was seeking retribution from the earlier attack on him.
