Wrestlemania 36 Night One April 4, 2020 Raymond James Stadium Tampa Bay, FL
*Daniel Bryan d. Braun Strowman w/MVP by Submission to Retain the Intercontinental Title Night One of Wrestlemania kicked off with a David vs. Goliath match, as the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman challenged the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion, Daniel Bryan, for the title. Despite giving up a huge size advantage to Strowman, Bryan's veteran wits and submission skills allowed him to outwrestle the behemoth. Despite the best efforts of MVP on the outside, Bryan managed to get Strowman down and hook in the LeBell Lock, picking up the submission victory and retaining his title.
*The Fiend d. Sheamus by Submission Coming into Wrestlemania, the Celtic Warrior Sheamus felt "overlooked" and considered as nothing more than "Drew's friend" in recent months. TO try and alleviate this, he issued an open challenge to anyone at Wrestlemania 36, which was answered by Bray Wyatt, who tried to show Sheamus the benefits of "Just Being You", playing into Irish stereotypes in a comical way as a way of "endearing himself" to his new best friend. Sheamus responded by attacking Wyatt, which drew the ire of Wyatt's alter-ego, The Fiend. In their Wrestlemania encounter, The Fiend destroyed Sheamus, eating a Brogue Kick early on and no selling it before laying waste to the former World Heavyweight Champion, eventually locking in the Mandible Claw Submission for the victory.
*Charlotte Flair & Nikki Cross d. Alexa Bliss & Liv Morgan by Pinfall to Win the Women's Tag Team Titles Since the Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair had been followed on by former NXT star Nikki Cross, who idolized the Queen and considered her a role model for her own career, even bleaching her hair in a way to emulate the multiple time champion. This hadn't helped Flair regain a World Championship, but Cross had seemingly worn down Flair's reticence, as Charlotte saved Nikki from a beatdown at the hands of Women's Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan on an episode of Smackdown. This led to the two teaming up to challenge the champions. Despite some early struggles, mainly centered around Flair trying to do too much, Cross turned the tide once she got the hot tag and cleared house on the champions, eventually hitting a massive Cross Body Block from the top on Bliss to pick up the win for her team and claim the Women's Tag Team Titles.
*Naomi d. Bayley by Pinfall in a Match with Sasha Banks in a Shark Cage to Win the Women's World Title Naomi had earned another shot at Bayley's Women's World Championship by defeating Sasha Banks the previous month, and had also earned the right to name the stipulation to the match. Naomi sought to eliminate Banks as a factor in the match, making the stipulation that she be suspended from the ring in a Shark Cage to keep the match one on one. At one point with the referee down, Banks managed to get the key from Bayley and make her way down from the cage, taking out Naomi with a double knee takedown. However Naomi overcame the double team attempt and hit both Banks and Bayley with a Glow-Up to pick up the win and take the Women's World Championship.
*Randy Orton d. Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Cesaro & Seth Rollins in a 6-Man Scramble Match to Win the World Heavyweight Title Since winning the World Heavyweight Title, Jinder Mahal had managed to escape from the clutches of defeat with his title in tact several titmes. That seemed to be at an end in this special 20 Minute Scramble Match, where anyone could become the active "champion" by scoring a pinfall or submission, with the active champion at the end of the 20 minutes being the actual champion. Mahal was defeated within 10 seconds by Cesaro, but managed to regain the title with 20 seconds left by scoring a roll up on Kevin Owens. However as Mahal gloated, Randy Orton snuck in and hit an RKO out of nowhere to score the final pinfall with just 5 seconds left, becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion in the process.
*Goldberg d. Bobby Lashley w/MVP by Pinfall A chance backstage encounter and scuffle between The All Mighty Bobby Lashley and the Hall of Famer Goldberg a few weeks prior had led to Lashley costing Goldberg the World Heavyweight Title, and led to this encounter on Night One of Wrestlemania. Lashley was able to withstand Goldberg's opening shots, but the Hall of Famer fought out of an attempt by Lashley to hook a massive Full Nelson on him, eventually hitting a pair of Spears and then a Jackhammer to get the big win at Wrestlemania.
*The Brothers of Destruction [Undertaker & Kane] d. AJ Styles & The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] in a 3 on 2 Handicap Match The feud between AJ Styles and Kane had started back at the Royal Rumble, when the returning Big Red Machine had surprisingly eliminated the Phenomenal One. This led to Styles defending the Intercontinental Title against Kane, only for Styles on-again, off-again allies of Gallows and Anderson to return and attack the newly minted Hall of Famer in a 3 on 1. Kane would return at Elimination Chamber to cost Styles the IC Title, leading to a match being made at Wrestlemania, with Kane enlisting the help of The Undertaker for a 3 on 2 Handicap Match. Despite the man advantage and getting some good offense in, the Brothers of Destruction's final match together ended in victory, with Kane and Undertaker delivering stereo Tombstone Piledrivers to Gallows and Anderson while Styles slinked off into the back.
*John Cena d. Roman Reigns by Pinfall At the Royal Rumble, John Cena and Roman Reigns had confronted each other briefly in the course of the match, leading to Cena actually eliminating the former World Champion from the match. A war of words between the two would build in the weeks that followed, leading to this one on one meeting at Wrestlemania. Despite giving up the strength and youth advantage to Reigns, Cena was able to outwrestle the Big Dog on more than one occasion, though the power of Reigns eventually came close to winning out. Similar to how Cena had dealt with the Rock nearly a decade earlier, however, Reigns grew overconfident, and delivered Cena's signature 5 Knuckle Shuffle Taunt to him. Reigns then went for a Spear, only for Cena to dodge out of the way and then hit three Attitude Adjustment's in succession, before securing the victory in an upset. Cena celebrated the victory as Reigns looked on frustrated and headed for the back in a dejected manner as the crowd chanted for Cena as Night One of Wrestlemania came to a close.

Wrestlemania 36 Night 2 April 5, 2020 Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL
*War Raiders [Erik & Ivar] w/Sarah Logan d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles For several months, the War Raiders team of Erik and Ivar had dominated the tag division in NXT. The rampaging Vikings had come to the main roster the previous month, looking to continue that domination, and immediately challenged the long running World Tag Team Champions, the Usos to do it. In a bit of a stunning upset, Jimmy and Jey were unable to ever really gain a foot hold against the Raiders, as Ivar hit a Doomsault on Jimmy to pick up the win and claim the World Tag Team Titles.
*The House of Black [AOP & Aleister Black] d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods] by Pinfall For several months the House of Black and The New Day had been fighting to determine who the better trio in the WWE was, leading to this confrontation at Wrestlemania. Despite the teamwork advantage of the New Day, Aleister Black was able to end the match in anticlimactic fashion, hitting the Black Mass on Xavier Woods in the midst of a six man brawl and picking up the pinfall victory for the House of Black.
*Andrade w/Zelina Vega d. Otis w/Tucker by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title In recent weeks, United States champion Andrade had been growing annoyed and jealous of Zelina Vega's pursuits outside of managing him, even going so far as to yell at her backstage and leave her stranded at an arena. However, Vega had caught the eye of Heavy Machinery member Otis, and had seemingly begun to return his affections. This led to a jealous Andrade using Humberto Carillo and Angel Garza (renamed as a tag team to Los Idolos) to lay out Otis and Tucker. Otis then challenged Andrade to a US Title match at Wrestlemania, with Vega reluctantly still in Andrade's corner. The sheer weight and power of the Blue Collar Man was hard for the champion to overcome, but a distraction caused by Carillo and Garza on the outside led to Andrade using the championship belt to KO Otis and pick up the win. Andrade demanded Vega come into the ring and celebrate with the trio, but she refused. When confronted by Carillo, Vega simply kicked him below the belt, leading to Andrade grabbing Vega and tossing her into the ring. Otis and Tucker then came to the rescue, clearing out the trio and standing tall.
*Dominik Mysterio Won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal The annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was held on Night Two of Wrestlemania 36 (despite it's female counterpart being moved to the Smackdown prior to Wrestlemania, with that match being won by Lacey Evans). The annual battle royal came down to the father-son tandem of Rey & Dominik Mysterio against Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler. It looked to be curtains for the Mysterios when Rey was eliminated, but Dominik was able to quickly toss out Roode and face down Ziggler. To the shock of everyone, the rookie managed to out smart the veteran, skinning the cat when Ziggler thought he had eliminated him and rolling back into the ring, dropkicking Ziggler over the top rope and securing the biggest win of his young career.
*Keith Lee d. Brock Lesnar by Pinfall Keith Lee and Brock Lesnar had been on a collision course since the Royal Rumble, when the Limitless One had shocked the world by eliminating the Beast Incarnate from the Rumble match early on. Since then, Lesnar had been a one man wrecking crew in his quest to get revenge on the young upstart, leading to this eventual encounter at Wrestlemania. The two big hosses had a long battle, with both men tossing the other around the ring with various suplexes and throws in an impressive display of strength. In the end though, to the shock of the live crowd, it was Lee who would get the advantage, hitting a Spirit Bomb followed by a Big Bang Catastrophe to pick up the win over Lesnar. After the match, a reflective Lesnar removed his gloves and seemed to salute the crowd, his future uncertain.
*Hulk Hogan & Rob Gronkowski d. The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] by Pinfall in an Impromptu Match Wrestlemania Hosts Hulk Hogan and NFL Tight End Rob Gronkowski made their way to the ring to announce the attendance figures for the night, when they were confronted by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The Club were looking for their Wrestlemania moment at the expense of the retired Hogan, leading to "The Gronk" to challenge them to an impromptu tag match. In a short affair, despite getting a little offense in, Hogan and Gronk dominated The Club, with the match ending after Gronk (with Hogan's encouragement) hit a Leg Drop on Gallows to pick up the pinfall victory.
*Shayna Baszler d. Becky Lynch by Submission to Win the WWE Women's Championship Since winning the Women's Royal Rumble match, former NXT star Shayna Baszler had made clear her intentions of targeting the year long reign of Becky Lynch as WWE Women's Champion. The Man had been overwhelmed in their initial confrontations, but had eventually evened the tide in their fights, even locking the submission specialist in the Dis-Arm-Her on the go home episode of Raw. The match at Mania was a technical affair, with both women working over body parts in an attempt to get the victory. Lynch locked Baszler in the DisArmHer, but Baszler was able to power out and get to the ropes for the break. The same could not be said for Lynch, who was eventually choked out by being locked in the Kirafuda Clutch, passing out for the ref's three count which gave the Queen of Spades the Women's Title, ending Becky's long title reign.
*Edge & Christian d. The Miz & John Morrison by Disqualification [Miz & Morrison Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles] Since his return at the Royal Rumble, Edge had been feuding with The Miz (as well as the returning John Morrison as Miz's tag partner). This expanded to include fellow WWE Hall of Famer Christian when Miz and Morrison attacked Christian on an episode of "Miz TV", leading to this tag title match. The pair of hall of famers were seemingly impossible to defeat, despite the best efforts of the champions. In the end, Miz would pull the referee out after Edge hit a Spear on John Morrison, resulting in an intentional disqualification. After the match, Miz and Morrison attempted to attack the hall of famers after the match, only to be laid out, with Miz narrowly escaping a Con-Chair-To from Edge and Christian, a fate which befell Morrison. Edge and Christian then stood tall.
*Drew McIntyre d. Shinsuke Nakamura w/Paul Heyman by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship Drew McIntyre's quest for the WWE Title had gained new direction when he won the Royal Rumble, and he chose to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania. Nakamura had a psychological advantage going into the match, having pinned McIntyre on two separate occasions in tag matches leading into this main event. A long back and forth transpired between the two men, each looking for a knockout shot to put down their opponent. Nakamura managed to hit his first, dodging a Claymore and delivering a Boma Ye, but only getting a two count. McIntyre would rally back and hit two successive Claymores on the King of Strong Style to pick up the win and finally capture the WWE Title, celebrating as Wrestlemania went off the air.

WWE Money in the Bank May 10, 2020 Royal Farms Arena Baltimore, MD
*Sami Zayn d. Andrade, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Cesaro, Keith Lee, Daniel Bryan & AJ Styles in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match The annual Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match featured a stacked lineup, consisting of the current United States and Intercontinental Champions, several former World Champions, and other top stars in the company. As with most MITB matches, the whole thing turned into a car crash, with several high spots off of ladders and hard hitting shots to take out foes. Keith Lee appeared ready to climb the ladder and claim the prize, only to be taken out suddenly by Bobby Lashley, who wasn't even in the match. With Lee removed, the match became a race between IC Champion Daniel Bryan and former champion AJ Styles to claim the briefcase. However, while they tusseled atop a ladder, Sami Zayn climbed a second ladder and kicked both Bryan and Styles' ladder to the ground, causing both men to plummet to the outside. With no one else around, Zayn grabbed the briefcase and high tailed it out of the ring, having "overcome the conspiracy against him" for once.
*War Raiders [Erik & Ivar] w/Sarah Logan d. Heavy Machinery [Otis & Tucker] w/Zelina Vega & Los Idolos [Angel Garza & Humberto Carillo] by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The newly minted World Tag Team Champions, War Raiders, found themselves in the middle of the ongoing feud between Zelina Vega and her old associates, namely the tag team of Los Idolos. Having entered into a relationship with Otis of Heavy Machinery, Vega was steering her new team into challenging the Vikings for their tag titles, when their non-title contest was interrupted by Garza and Carillo. Otis and Tucker returned the favor the following week on Smackdown, interrupting a match between the Raiders and the Idols. In this triple threat match, however, The War Raiders reestablished their dominance as a team, decimating Garza and Carillo and outlasting Otis and Tucker, as Ivar hit Tucker with a Doomsault to pick up the pinfall win.
*Big E d. Aleister Black by Pinfall The feud between the House of Black and the New Day reached its culmination as Big E took on Aleister Black in a standard singles match. Despite AOP on the outside targeting both Kingston and Woods, Big E was able to handle the Darkfather, as Black's Dark Mist inadvertantly blinded Akam instead of it's intended target. Big E then hit a Jackhammer on Black to pick up the pinfall win.
*Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin w/MVP d. Braun Strowman by Pinfall The night after Wrestlemania 36 saw MVP turn his back on his other associate, Braun Strowman, due to the Monster Amongst Men's failure to win the Intercontinental Title at the Showcase of the Immortals. Strowman was attacked by Shelton Benjamin and former NXT star Cedric Alexander, who formed a team called the Hurt Business along with MVP's other client, Bobby Lashley. It would be this other client, making his secon appearance of the night, that helped Alexander and Benjamin score the pinfall over Strowman in this handicap match, with Alexander hitting a Big Splash from the top rope to pick up the win.
*The Miz, John Morrison & Jinder Mahal d. Edge, Christian & Matt Riddle by Pinfall The night after Wrestlemania saw NXT callups to the main roster make immediate impacts to the landscape of WWE. First, The Miz and John Morrison lost the WWE Tag Team Titles to the debuting British Strong Style, thanks in part to outside interference from Edge and Christian. Secondly, former World Heavyweight Champion Jinder Mahal lost to former NXT North American Champion Matt Riddle inside of three minutes. This would lead to a six man tag match with Riddle teaming with Edge and Christian against the affronted heels. Despite a good effort from the babyface team, particularly from the newly elevated Riddle, Miz's team was able to pull out a victory when Miz hit Christian with the Skull Crushing Finale following a distraction on the outside by Mahal's goons, Indus Sher.
*Randy Orton d. Bray Wyatt by Disqualification to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The schizophrenic Bray Wyatt had set his sights on regaining championship gold after Wrestlemania, beginning to play Mind Games with newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. In the build, Wyatt performed his usual tactics of inviting Orton into the Firefly Fun House, but Orton refused to play along, simply saying he would take out Wyatt at Money in the Bank, and encouraging Wyatt to "leave his puppets" at home. Wyatt seemingly took Orton up on his offer, appearing as his more benign self for their match at Extreme Rules. After a competitive match however, which saw Orton hit the RKO on Wyatt, the lights went dark and the telltale loud screech played over the PA. When the lights came back up, The Fiend was in the ring with Orton, in Wyatt's trademark Spider-Walk pose. The Fiend then attacked the Champion, locking in the Mandible Claw. A confused referee called for the bell, disqualifying Wyatt and getting out of the ring as quickly as possible as The Fiend continued to attack Orton after the bell, only relenting after drilling Orton through an announce table with a hard Uranage Slam, before disappearing as quickly as he had arrived.
*Sasha Banks d. Asuka, Tamina Snuka, Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans & Alexa Bliss in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match Bayley was on commentary for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, as well as to provide Moral Support to her "BFF" Sasha Banks, after Bayley had failed to qualify for the match due to a loss at the hands of Asuka. All the women scrambled for the briefcase high above the ring, and it would be Bayley's presence at ringside that would be the difference maker. Asuka began to climb the ladder, only to be knocked off by Bayley, who then helped Sasha by taking out anyone close by who tried to interfere in the process as The Boss climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase to become the new Ms. Money in the Bank.
*Shayna Baszler d. Nikki Cross by Submission to Retain the WWE Women's Title The Queen of Spades was initially supposed to compete against Becky Lynch in a Wrestlemania rematch, but that match was called off when Lynch announced that she would be taking time off for maternity leave. A scramble match was held on Raw before Money in the Bank, won by co-holder of the Women's Tag Team Titles, Nikki Cross. Cross fared better than most would have expected against the ferocious champion, but in the end Baszler was able to retain her title via submission, with the Kirafuda Clutch.
*Drew McIntyre w/Sheamus d. Shinsuke Nakamura w/Paul Heyman in a Last Man Standing Match to Retain the WWE Championship Shinsuke Nakamura had, through his agent and interpreter Paul Heyman, immediately exercised his guaranteed rematch clause after losing the WWE Title in the Main Event of Wrestlemania 36 to Drew McIntyre. Heyman also negotiated a clause that the King of Strong Style got to pick the stipulation of the match, choosing a Last Man Standing Match due to both men having powerful knockout strikes for finishers. In a hard hitting match, which also saw the Celtic Warrior Sheamus stay in McIntyre's corner to counter any shenanigans Heyman got up to, McIntyre emerged the more dominant of the two, until Nakamura managed to sneak a low blow into the match to take out the Scottish Warrior. Heyman attempted to get involved, sneaking a steel chair into the ring, only to be caught by Sheamus who took out Heyman with a Brogue Kick. Nakamura was then distracted, taking the chair and taking out Sheamus, before turning around. The King of Strong Style was then hit with a Claymore Kick to the chair, which hit him square in the head, knocking him out and giving the victory to McIntyre who celebrated his first successful title defense to close the show.

NXT Takeover: In Your House June 7, 2020 Full Sail University Winter Park, FL
*Hit Row [Swerve Strickland, Ashantae Adonis & Top Dolla] w/B-Fab d. Legado del Fantasma [Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz del Toro] by Pinfall A feud had begun in recent weeks between rival factions within NXT, as the hip hop "mega group" Hit Row found themselves opposite the Lucha Themed trio of Legado del Fantasma, led by Santos Escobar. A six man tag was set up, with Escobar and Hit Row's main act Swerve Strickland being the featured performers in the match. While del Toro and Wilde took out the larger Top Dolla in the midst of a six man brawl, B-Fab on the outside handed Strickland one of Hit Row's omni-present Gold Records, which he smashed over the head of Escobar, rolling him up afterwards to pick up the win.
*Johnny Gargano & Candace LeRae d. Velveteen Dream & Mia Yim by Submission in a Mixed Tag Team Match After turning heel on his longtime rival Tomasso Ciampa and adopting a more deliberate, less fan friendly approach, Johnny Gargano and his wife, Candace LeRae, had formed the power couple of NXT. They had attempted to recruit another women's star in Mia Yim into their "Way of Doing Things", but Yim turned them down, eventually teaming with the Velveteen Dream in this Mixed Tag Match to fend off the power couple. However Gargano and LeRae would still prove themselves the superior duo, as Gargano locked the Dream in the Garga-No Escape to pick up the submission victory.
*Imperium [Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci] d. The Street Profits [Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford] by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles The Street Profits, desperate to regain the NXT Tag Titles, sought to defeat the duo of Kaiser and Vinci of Imperium, putting their NXT Careers on the line for a shot at the belts while also ensuring that the 3rd member of Imperium, Ilya Dragunov, wouldn't be at ringside. However, Dragunov would still get involved, posing as a the time keeper and ringing the bell prematurely to distract Dawkins and Ford when it looked like Ford had Kaiser beat following a Frogsplash from the top. In the end, Kaiser and Vinci hit the Crown and Glory (a combination 2nd Rope Elbow Drop and Spinning Powerbomb) on Ford to pick up the win and retain the titles, ending the NXT careers of the Profits in the process.
*Damien Priest d. Adam Cole by Pinfall to Win the Vacant NXT North American Championship Since winning the NXT Championship, Roderick Strong had vacated the North American Championship, leading to an 8 Man Tournament for the vacant belt. The finals of the tournament came down to Damien Priest and the leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole. With Cole the heavy favorite despite his size disadvantage. However Priest wouldn't be denied, and Cole seemed distracted with his inability to put Priest away. Damien eventually caught Cole with the South of Heaven chokeslam before following up with a Razor's Edge to pick up the surprise upset win, becoming North American Champion.
*Rhea Ripley d. Bianca Belair in a Last Woman Standing Match to Win the NXT Women's Championship The feud between Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair over the NXT Women's Championship had continued since March, when Belair had finally won the title from Ripley. Rhea's contractually obligated rematch took place here, with the match being made a Last Woman Standing Match by NXT General Manager William Regal. Belair and Ripley fought tooth and nail to defeat the other one, with the match eventually ending up on the rampway. WIth both women teetering, they were suddenly attacked by Candace LeRae, the holder of the Women's "Brass Ring" that she could turn in for a Women's Title match at any time (save during an actual ongoing match). LeRae knocked over both women off the stage and through a table, hoping for the match to seemingly end in a draw so she could "cash in" and take the title for herself. However Ripley barely managed to make it to her feet, winning the Women's Title and causing Candace to run away in fear.
*GUNTHER d. Ricochet by Pinfall to Win the International Championship In a surprisingly one sided match, GUNTHER of Imperium leveld the International Champion Ricochet, chopping him into oblivion and eventually hitting a stack up Powerbomb for the win, capturing his first title in NXT.
*Roderick Strong d. JD McDonagh by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship The winner of the Men's Brass Ring, the Irish Ace JD McDonagh, didn't waste any time in cashing in his title shot, challenging Roderick Strong for the NXT Championship at Takeover In Your House. McDonagh fared much better than anyone thought he would, but still potentially faced interference from Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly of the Undisputed Era. To the surprise of many, Strong waved off the interference, and eventually won the match himself with the End of Heartache. The rest of the UE came out to celebrate, including a reluctant Cole who stared at the NXT Championship with longing to close the show.

WWE Backlash June 14, 2020 TD Garden Boston, MA
*Sami Zayn d. Daniel Bryan by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title and Retain the Money in the Bank Briefcase The night after Money in the Bank, Daniel Bryan had faced the winner of the briefcase, Sami Zayn, in a one on one match in which the Intercontinental Champion had made Zayn submit inside of 5 minutes. Bryan then kept goading Zayn with this fact, eventually inticing him to put the Money in the Bank briefcase on the line for a shot at his Intercontinental Title in this match at Backlash. The self-professed "martyr", Zayn, attacked Bryan before the bell in order to gain an advantage, but the champion quickly turned the tide back in his favor. After a lengthy back and forth between the two of them, Zayn took advantage of a missed Baikatsu Knee from Bryan and rolled up the champion, using the ropes for added leverage to pick up the win, retaining his briefcase and winning the Intercontinental Title in the process.
*Bobby Lashley w/MVP & Keith Lee Wrestled to a No Contest The All Mighty and the Limitless One renewed their long running rivalry at Backlash, though this time with additional factors at play, as the Hurt Business teammates of Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin attacked Lee, while the jilted Monster Amongst Men in Braun Strowman attacked Lashley. This ultimately resorted in the match being throw out, as Lashley and Lee brawled to the back.
*Fire & Desire [Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose] d. Charlotte Flair & Nikki Cross by Pinfall to Win the Women's Tag Team Titles The newly rechristened duo of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose challenged the unlikely mentor/mentee pairing of Charlotte Flair and Nikki Cross for the Women's Tag Team Titles. Despite working well as a team, a mistiming on a Moonsault to the outside caused Flair to accidentally take out Cross. With Nikki down, Flair was left for a two on one from Deville and Rose, and ultimately was hit with a Step Up Enziguiri Kick from Deville that knocked her out, giving Fire & Desire the Women's Tag Team Titles for the second time.
*Naomi d. Bayley w/Sasha Banks in a Steel Cage Match to Retain the Women's World Championship Bayley attempted to regain the Women's World Championship from Naomi once again, challenging her to a Steel Cage Match. With Sasha Banks patrolling the outside, it appeared that Naomi would have a difficult time escaping the cage to retain her title. And Banks' interference would be instrumental in the match, though not in Bayley's favor. The Role Model had Naomi close to the cage, calling on Banks to slam the door in Naomi's face, only for Naomi to throw Bayley's face in the way instead while Banks absent mindedly slammed the door. Naomi then climbed on the door and rode it to the outside on its hinges, jumping down and fighting off Banks in order to win the match, leaving Sasha to check on Bayley (and unable to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase at the time.)
*Seth Rollins w/Buddy Murphy d. Rey Mysterio w/Dominik Mysterio by Pinfall The self-professed Savior of Sports Entertainment had tried to recruit Dominik Mysterio as an Acolyte to his cause, asking him to turn on his own father Rey. Dominik had refused, leading to Rollins and his main follower (former House of Black member Buddy Murphy) to viciously assault Dominik until Rey made the save. Rey challenged Rollins to a match at Backlash, and gave the former WWE Champion a run for his money. In the end though, a distraction from Murphy allowed Rollins to hit a low blow to Rey and then a Curb Stomp to pick up the win.
*Bray Wyatt d. Randy Orton by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Bray Wyatt's alternate character/ego of The Fiend had defeated Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship, leading to this rematch at Backlash. Orton had once again appeared on an episode of the Firefly Fun House, accusing Bray of using the Fiend as a "crutch" and challenging him not to use the Fiend in their rematch, which Wyatt agreed to (including comically reinforcing the door in the Funhouse the Fiend was said to reside in with 2x4's). Parallel to this, Wyatt/The Fiend had seemingly drawn the interest of former Women's Champion Alexa Bliss, despite the fact that Bliss was nearly attacked by the Fiend on Raw (only to be saved by Orton). Randy controlled much of their rematch, though Wyatt's unique brand of offense still kept the Viper at bay. At one point the referee went down and Orton hit an RKO, only for the Fiend's lighting to suddenly fill the arena. The lights went down and when they came back up, Alexa Bliss was in the ring, stunning Orton. Bliss threw a fireball in the face of Orton, who was blinded by the flash, stumbling into the waiting Wyatt who hit Sister Abigail's Kiss as the referee came to. He then counted the pin, allowing Bray to retain the World Title.
*British Strong Style [Trent Severn & Tyler Bate] d. Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles The longterm alliance of Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode took on British Strong Style for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Severn and Bate were behind the 8 ball early on, when Ziggler used a ref distraction to toss Bate into an exposed turnbuckle and get a near fall. They then isolated Bate for much of the match, until Severn was finally able to get the hot tag and clean house. Roode though used a low blow behind the referee's back, but any attempt he had to take advantage was stopped by the arrival of British Strong Style's former (and soon to be future) stablemate, Pete Dunne, making his arrival to the main roster. Dunne and Ziggler began fighting on the outside, allowing Severn and Bate to double team Roode in a turnabout manner, hitting the London Calling and getting the pinfall victory to retain the titles.
*Drew McIntyre w/Sheamus d. The Miz w/John Morrison by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship WWE Champion and his friend, Sheamus, had entered into a brief feud with The Miz and his tag partner John Morrison over the WWE Championship. Miz and Morrison attempted to jump McIntyre before the bell, only for Sheamus to come to the aid of the WWE Champion. The frackas was eventually calmed down by WWE official Adam Pearce, who came out and ordered the match started and both Sheamus and Morrison to be barred from ringside. This allowed McIntyre and Miz to have a one on one match, which the Scottish Warrior dominated early on, only giving the Miz the advantage when Morrison ran back out in defiance of Pearce's order. Miz attempted to set up a Skull Crushing Finale, but McIntyre fought out with a Glasgow Kiss, before hitting two Claymore Kicks in quick succession to put away the Miz and retain the title, celebrating with Sheamus to close the show.

*Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode d. The New Day [Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston], British Strong Style [Trent Severn & Tyler Bate], AOP [Akam & Rezar], The Mysterios [Rey & Dominik Mysterio] & The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] in a Gauntlet Match to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The WWE Tag Team Titles were up for grabs in the opening match, as British Strong Style put the belts on the line against 5 top teams in the company. The New Day would open the match against the champions, and to the shock of many eliminate Bate and Severn after Woods hit a Limit Break Elbow following a Trouble in Paradise from Kofi Kingston. The veterans would then take out their old rivals, The Usos, relatively quickly as well, as Jimmy appeared to land awkwardly after a dive to the outside, leaving Jey alone to deal with Woods and Kingston and to be pinned by an SOS. AOP were the next team in, and they manhandled The New Day, only to be caught with a roll up from Kingston to give the former champions the win. Akam & Rezar then laid out Woods and Kingston after being elminated, leaving them easy pickings for the duo of Ziggler and Roode, who ended the New Day's night following a Glorious DDT. The father and son tandem of Rey & Dominik Mysterio were the final team to enter the fray, and the young Dominik gave Ziggler and Roode everything he could, with Rey also looking impressive, only for Ziggler to catch Dom with a low blow and then hit a Fameasser behind the referee's back, leaving Dominik open to be pinned by Roode with Rey out on the outside, giving the win to Ziggler and Roode.
*Kevin Owens d. Sami Zayn by Disqualification [Zayn Retains the Intercontinental Title] Mr. Money in the Bank Sami Zayn renewed his long standing rivalry with former best friend Kevin Owens, defending his newly won Intercontinental Title against the Prizefighter. Zayn's underhanded tactics didn't thwart KO for the most part, but Zayn did everything he could simply to hold onto the belt, eventually kicking Owens low directly in front of the referee to result in a disqualification, giving Owens the win but keeping the title. After the match, Zayn attempted to hit Owens with the Money in the Bank briefcase, only to eat a Stunner for his troubles.
*Keith Lee, Braun Strowman & The Street Profits [Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford] d. The Hurt Business [Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander & MVP] in a San Jose Street Fight The unlikely pairing of Keith Lee and Braun Strowman had found equally unlikely allies in their battle against the Hurt Business, in the form of NXT callups The Street Profits. Dawkins and Ford provided the backup necessary to take on all four members of the faction in a San Jose Street Fight, a plunder filled hardcore match that would eventually see Ford pin Alexander after hitting a high angle frogsplash, following a Spirit Bomb from Keith Lee.
*Mustafa Ali d. Ricochet by Pinfall Former United States Champion Mustafa Ali had begun with a new gimmick, that of a would-be politician, campaigining amongst the WWE universe to "Make Ali Great Again." This gimmick had seen Ali pick up a few wins on television, and he had entered a brief feud with fellow high flyer Ricochet. The two had a dazzling aerial show between them, but Ali would manage to steal the win after rolling up the One and Only and holding the tights for additional leverage.
*War Raiders [Erik & Ivar] & Sarah Logan d. Heavy Machinery [Otis & Tucker] & Zelina Vega by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The feud between the War Raiders and Heavy Machinery took on a new life as a feud broke out between their respective valets, Sarah Logan and Zelina Vega, leading to this unique Six Person Intergender Tag Match, with the World Tag Team Titles on the line. The match quickly devolved into an out and out brawl, eventually ending when Logan hit her own variant of a Doomsault onto Vega to get the pinfall victory and retain the titles for the Raiders.
*Shayna Baszler & Charlotte Flair Wrestled to a Double Countout [Baszler Retains the WWE Women's Championship] The Queen of Spades faced her toughest challenge to date as she took on the Queen of WWE for the Women's Championship, Charlotte Flair. Flair and Bayszler had a technically oriented match, filled with holds and counter holds. However the match would end inconclusively following a ref bump, when Baszler looked like she might use the Women's Title Belt as a weapon against Flair. She was stopped by Flair's tag partner and "protege" Nikki Cross, who stole the title belt and ran through the crowd, being chased by Baszler. Flair gave chase just as quickly, and when the ref came too they counted both women out, resulting in a No Contest.
*Sasha Banks w/Bayley d. Naomi by Pinfall to Retain the Women's World Championship Shortly after Naomi had beaten Bayley in a Steel Cage Match, Sasha Banks cashed in her Women's Money in the Bank briefcase on an episode of Smackdown in order to win the Women's World Championship. Naomi got her contractually mandated rematch at Extreme Rules. Much as Sasha Banks had provided back up for her title reign, Bayley backed up the Boss, distracting the referee at a timely moment and allowing Banks to nail Naomi with the Women's Title Belt, leading to a pinfall victory for the new champion.
*Drew McIntyre d. Seth Rollins by Pinfall in an Extreme Rules Match to Retain the WWE Championship The self-professed Sports Entertainment Savior challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, making the match an Extreme Rules match to try and gain the upper hand with his acolyte, Buddy Murphy, running interference against the Scottish Warrior. McIntyre did receive help from his friend, United States Champion Sheamus, which neutralized Murphy, leading to McIntyre and Rollins having a drag out brawl throughout the arena. Eventually McIntyre overcame being drilled in the head with a steel chair to hit a Claymore Kick on Rollins, knocking him out and getting the pinfall. After the match, a bloody McIntyre celebrated with Sheamus once again, only for the Celtic Champion to suddenly deliver a lariat to McIntyre, knocking him flat on the ground. Sheamus then delivered a Brogue Kick to McIntyre, leaving him laying before leaving the scene. At that moment...
*Sami Zayn d. Drew McIntyre in a Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Championship Sami Zayn came running down to ringside, carrying his Money in the Bank briefcase. Zayn cashed in and immediately pinned McIntyre to win the WWE Championship to the shock of the crowd to close out Extreme Rules.
