NXT Takeover: Kansas City August 22, 2020 Sprint Center Kansas City, MO
*The Divine Miss Toni Storm w/Reginald d. Mia Yim by Pinfall Toni Storm had adopted a gimmick of a clueless 50's movie starlet, complete with her own butler in the form of "Reginald". Now calling herself "The Divine Miss Toni Storm", she took on perennial contender Mia Yim in this opening match. The fiesty Korean gave the Divine One everything she could handle, but a distraction to the referee from Reginald led to Storm pulling out the victory after hitting Yim with the Storm Zero.
*Imperium [Ilya Dragunov, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci] d. Grizzled Young Veterans [James Drake & Zack Gibson] & Riddick Moss by Pinfall The trio of European wrestlers surrounding International Champion GUNTHER, including the NXT Tag Team Champions, had entered a feud with British wrestlers the Grizzled Young Veterans, who sought the help of Riddick Moss to take down Imperium. Despite the surprising amount of teamwork between Gibson, Drake & Moss, the match largely belonged to Ilya Dragunov, who dominated much of the match, eventually finishing off Gibson with a Torpedo Moscow for the win.
*Cameron Grimes w/Bronson Reed d. Joaquin Wilde w/Cruz del Toro by Pinfall The resident "1%" of NXT, Cameron Grimes, was making his debut at Takeover Kansas City against Joaquin Wilde of Legados del Fantasma. Though Grimes didn't need it, he received help from his personal bodyguard, the massive Australian Bronson Reed, who slammed Wilde against the ring post before Grimes finished him off with his finisher, the Short Sale (a Small Package Driver) to pick up the win.
*Candace LeRae d. Bianca Belair & Rhea Ripley by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Women's Title Candace LeRae had cashed in her Brass Ring for an instant shot at NXT Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley, which LeRae won after inadvertant interference from Bianca Belair (who was attempting to stop LeRae from cheating, only for the attempt to backfire). With Belair and Ripley still feuding, the better half of the Power Couple of NXT was just looking to survive, let alone retain her title in this triple threat match. LeRae stood out of the way, only interjecting herself when it appeared that Belair or Ripley might get the advantage and pinfall. In the end, LeRae received outside help from one of the converts of "The Way", Indi Hartwell, who provided LeRae with the NXT Title Belt to hit Belair from behind and then score the pinfall with a roll up.
*Damian Priest d. Austin Theory w/Dexter Lumis by Pinfall to Retain the NXT North American Title The power couple of NXT, Johnny Gargano and Candace LeRae, had established a method of ruling over the Black and Gold brand that they called "The Way." This had attracted several followers, including young NXT talent Austin Theory and Dexter Lumis. Theory challenged Damian Priest for the North American Championship, and at first was completely outmatched by the Archer of Infamy. It was only win Lumis got involved that Theory was able to get an upper hand, but only for a short while. Priest eventually hit Theory with the South of Heaven Chokeslam to pick up the win and retain his title.
*Johnny Gargano d. Finn Balor & Santos Escobar by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Finn Balor was originally slated to challenge Johnny Gargano for the NXT Championship, but the match was made a triple threat match by NXT General Manager William Regal following a victory over Balor by the leader of Legados del Fantasma, Santos Escobar. The high flyer seemingly flummoxed the champion and his challenger with his high octane offense, but a crash and burn missed dive to the outside seemingly hurt Escobar's knee, removing him from the match. This left Gargano and Balor to fight it out briefly, and Balor appeared to have the match won with the Coup de Grace, only for the referee to be pulled out at the last second by Escobar, who had hobbled his way back to ringside. Balor was distracted long enough by Escobar to be rolled up by Gargano, who got the 1-2-3 with a hand full of tights to pick up the win.
*Adam Cole d. Roderick Strong by Pinfall in an Extreme Rules Match Shortly after the previous Takeover special, Roderick Strong had defended the NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano. In that title defense, Adam Cole had turned on his associate in the Undisputed Era, nailing Strong with the title belt and allowing Gargano to pin Roderick to win the belt. Cole claimed that Strong was trying to steal the spotlight of the era, leading to a feud between the two. Caught in the middle were Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, neither of whom seemed to ally with either man. In this Extreme Rules Match, both Strong and Cole brawled throughout the Sprint Center, hitting each other with weapons and powerful moves throughout. In the end though, O'Reilly and Fish made their choice, turning on Strong and hitting the High-Low on Roddy, leaving him open to a Last Shot from Cole which gave Adam the victory. The three remaining members of Undisputed Era looked to finish off Strong once and for all, but Roderick was surprisingly saved by Damian Priest and Finn Balor, both of whom stood and protected the former member of the faction as Takeover went off the air.

WWE Summerslam August 23, 2020 Arrowhead Stadium Kansas City, MO
*The Mysterios [Rey & Dominik Mysterio] d. War Raiders [Erik & Ivar] w/Sarah Logan by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles Summerslam opened with the father-son tandem of Rey and Dominik Mysterio challenging the War Raiders for the World Tag Team Titles. The dominant Viking champions isolated the younger Mysterio throughout the match, attempting to take him out and use his inexperience against him. Dom eventually made the tag to his father though, who cleaned house and tossed Ivar to the outside. Erik was then hit with several high impact double team moves, as both father and son hit a 619 to the champion. Rey then hit a Big Splash from the top rope to pick up the win and capture the tag team titles for the family Mysterio.
*Ricochet d. Mustafa Ali to Retain the United States Title Ricochet had won the United States title off of Sheamus (with help from Drew McIntyre), and had continued his feud with Mustafa Ali, who was still out to "Make Ali Great Again" by becoming United States Champion. The two high flyers had a huge spotfest of a match, filledwith flips and dives that wowed the crowd. In the end, Ricochet caught Ali with a Brainbuster that stunned him before hitting a double moonsault off the top rope to retain the title.
*The Kabuki Warriors [Asuka & Kairi Sane] d. Bayley & Sasha Banks by Submission A feud had broken out between the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka, and Women's World Champion Sasha Banks in recent weeks. Banks demanded that Asuka defeat her and her fellow "role model" Bayley in a tag team match to earn a shot at her championship, leading to this tag team match. The former women's tag team champions of the Kabuki Warriors easily bested the role models, but an errant cross body from Sane seemingly injured her shoulder, leaving her vulnerable. Bayley hit a Top Rope Elbow for a near fall, but that seemed to spur Kairi to make a tag to Asuka, who cleaned house. With Sane down, Bayley and Banks engaged in a 2 on 1, but a mistimed kick from Bayley to Banks provided the opening for Asuka to lock the Legit Boss in the Rising Sun, picking up the submission victory.
*Jeff Hardy w/Patrick Mahomes d. Baron Corbin w/Rob Gronkowski by Pinfall to Win the Vacant Intercontinental Title When Sami Zayn won the WWE Championship, he vacated the Intercontinental Title, leading to a tournament for the vacant championship. The tournament final came down to Baron Corbin versus the veteran Jeff Hardy. The match was made more interesting when Corbin had Tampa Bay Buccaneer Rob Gronkowski in his corner, while Hardy came to the ring with Super Bowl MVP and Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes in his corner (to great hometown applause). The two players merely jaw jacked with one another, not getting physically involved, and it looked like Corbin would get the win after hitting a Deep Six on Hardy, but only managed a two count. Corbin then overconfidently tossed Hardy around, only for Jeff to hit a Twist of Fate out of nowhere and then follow up with a Swanton Bomb to pick up the win, much to the chagrin of Corbin who slammed his fist to the mat in frustration.
*Cesaro & Daniel Bryan d. Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles Daniel Bryan had scored individual victories over both Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode en route to this match, with Bryan selecting a random partner to challenge the Dirty Dawgs after being attacked by them both on an episode of Smackdown. Bryan's choice was the Swiss Superman, former World Heavyweight Champion Cesaro. The super team between the two dominated the match, with Bryan easily besting Ziggler with a Baikatsu Knee while Cesaro took out Roode with a Zurich Bomb to pick up the win for both of them, claiming the WWE Tag Team Titles.
*Seth Rollins w/Buddy Murphy d. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Edge by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship The night after Extreme Rules, newly minted WWE Champion Sami Zayn had his celebratory night ruined by former best friend Kevin Owens, who challenged Zayn for the title and won it, ending the Conspiracist's title reign at a mere 24 hours. Zayn immediately invoked his rematch clause, but this was challenged by the Saviour of Sports Entertainment, Seth Rollins, who claimed to be the #1 contender for the title. Complicating matters further was Edge, who gained pinfall victories over both Rollins and Zayn on Raw and Smackdown respectively, earning his way into a Fatal Fourway set up by WWE official Adam Pearce. The presence of Rollins' acolyte, Buddy Murphy, was eliminated early on when Owens powerbombed him through an announce table. However Owens was then taken out by Rollins, who hit a Curb Stomp onto the exposed concrete floor, knocking him seemingly out. Rollins and Zayn then double teamed Edge, taking him out before turning on each other, with Zayn getting an advantage. Zayn hit Rollins with a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Owens came back in at the nick of time to stop the pinfall, only to then eat a Spear from Edge. Edge set up for another Spear on Rollins, but Seth dodged out of the way and then hit a Curb Stomp on the Rated R Superstar, picking up the win and becoming WWE Champion once again.
*Sheamus d. Drew McIntyre by Referee Stoppage At Extreme Rules, Sheamus had shockingly turned on Drew McIntyre, leading to him losing the WWE Championship to a MITB cash in from Sami Zayn. The Celtic Warrior claimed he was tired of carrying Drew as champion, and wanted him to "lose that which was most precious to him." The Scottish Warrior returned with a vengeance, costing Sheamus the US Title en route to this one on one encounter. A bloody brawl then ensued, with Sheamus busting open McIntyre across the forehead, and costing him a lot of blood. Drew tried to fight back, getting ready to hit Sheamus with a Claymore Kick, but suddenly fainted, passing out from the loss of blood. This led to the referee stopping the match and awarding the decision to Sheamus, as medical personnel tended to the former WWE Champion.
*Charlotte Flair d. Shayna Baszler & Nikki Cross by Pinfall to Win the WWE Women's Championship The Queen of Spades defended her Women's Title against both Charlotte Flair and her "BFF" Nikki Cross, with it becoming more and more apparent that Flair was simply using Cross as cannon fodder to try and take out Baszler. Shayna attempted to alert Cross to this duplicity, but Nikki was oblivious, at least until this triple threat match, when Flair actively cost Cross the Women's Title at one point, pulling out a referee to prevent Nikki from getting a pin. Nikki then chased after Flair, who led her around the ring and straight into a clothesline from Baszler. Flair then rolled up Shayna from behind, using the ropes for additional leverage to pick up the upset win and regain championship gold, leaving through the crowd as Cross chased after her.
*Roman Reigns w/Paul Heyman d. The Fiend & Randy Orton by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship The ongoing feud between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton was exacerbated by two things. Firstly, Wyatt had apparently become smitten by former Women's Champion Alexa Bliss, leading to Orton using Bliss to play Mind Games with the leader of the Firefly Fun House, and causing Bray to call upon The Fiend persona more liberally. Unrelated to this though, was the sudden return of Roman Reigns to the WWE following his loss to John Cena at Wrestlemania. Reigns was offered a chance to compete for the World Heavyweight Title at Summerslam by WWE official Adam Pearce, which Reigns promised to take under advisement from his "Special Counsel," revealing himself to now be allied with Paul Heyman. The match began with The Fiend and Orton tearing strips off each other in a No Holds Barred match, with even the normally unstoppable Fiend being worn down by attrition. With both men exhausted, Reigns music suddenly hit and he appeared with Heyman. Reigns signed the contract Pearce had given him and then inserted himself into the match as a triple threat, spearing Orton and Wyatt and then pinning the former to pick up the win and regain championship gold to the stunned sounds of the masses to close the show.

In storyline, there's a draft coming up for WWE as I reestablish a brand split going forward (though, not with brand-specific PPV's). I have three more shows booked before that draft, but am going to sort through the draft when I have time and book a few more shows as buffer before resuming posting. In short, expect like a week long break or so before the next event is posted.

WWE Payback September 6, 2020 Amway Center Orlando, FL
*The Mysterios [Rey & Dominik Mysterio] d. Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The father and son tandem of Rey & Dominik Mysterio faced the formidable combination of Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode in this opening contest, with the veterans targeting the rookie Dominik from an early part of the match, after Rey seemingly hurt his knee after missing a dive to the outside. Despite his inexperience, however, Dominik was able to avail himself well against Ziggler and Roode, even getting a near fall on the former after hitting a flurry of offense. The numbers game caught up to him, though, and it appeared that the Mysterios run as champions would be short lived, only for Rey to make a hot tag and clean house, despite his injury. In the end, Rey hit a 619 on Roode which led to Dominik hitting a cross body from the top for the surprise pinfall to retain the titles.
*Ricochet d. Baron Corbin by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title After failing to secure the Intercontinental Title in the tournament final the previous month, Baron Corbin attempted to wrestle away the United States Title from the One and Only, Ricochet. However Corbin came up short again in a title match, falling victim to Ricochet's Double Moonsault, as the high flyer retained his title.
*Bayley d. Sasha Banks, Kairi Sane & Asuka by Pinfall to Win the Women's World Championship In an ongoing feud between the Kabuki Warriors and the Role Models, the Women's World Title was put on the line in a Fatal Fourway match. Champion Sasha Banks appeared to have the match won, with both herand Bayley having agreed to work together in the shows leading up to Payback, however Bayley would eventually take it upon herself to steal the pinfall from Banks following a Bombs Away Knee Drop from the Legit Boss, covering Sane to pick up the victory and take the Women's World Championship for herself much to Sasha's costernation.
*Sheamus d. Keith Lee by Pinfall A couple of months after costing Drew McIntyre the WWE Championship (and subsequently placing his former ally on the shelf seemingly indefinitely following their match at Summerslam), Sheamus took on the Limitless Keith Lee with the winner being in line to receive a shot at WWE Champion Seth Rollins. The two big men beat three sheets of tar of each other, but in the end Sheamus continued his winning streak, hitting two Brogue Kicks to put Lee away.
*Charlotte Flair d. Shayna Baszler by Disqualification to Retain the WWE Women's Championship This "rematch" of sorts from Summerslam between Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women's Championship only lasted roughly five minutes before being brought to a screeching halt by Nikki Cross, who attacked both women, though focused her efforts mainly on Charlotte. This caused the referee to toss the match, allowing the Queen to retain her title on a technicality.
*Jeff Hardy d. John Morrison w/The Miz by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title After winning the Intercontinental Title at Summerslam, Jeff Hardy continued to turn back the clock by defending the title against a former champion in John Morrison. The Prince of Parkour and the Charismatic Enigma had a high flying match that was only partially interrupted by Morrison's tag partner, The Miz, when he attempted to interfere. Despite this, Hardy finished off Morrison with a Swanton to retain the title. After the match, Miz and Morrison stalked off to the back, having an exchange of words with Edge as he prepared for his WWE Championship match at the Gorilla Position.
*Seth Rollins w/Buddy Murphy d. Edge by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship The Rated R Superstar tried to turn back the hands of time by regaining the WWE Championship, challenging Seth Rollins for the title. Rollins had engaged in some Mind Games on the go home episode of Raw, invading Edge's own home in Canada and threatening to harras Edge's wife Beth Phoenix. This left Edge incensed and nearly cost him the match, as the referee threatened to disqualify Edge early on. The match eventually settled in to a groove, and it appeared that Edge's revenge would be to prematurely end the title reign of the Savior of Sports Entertainment. However with the referee down, Edge was suddenly attacked from behind by The Miz who came back out to the ring. This momentary distraction allowed Rollins to hit a Superkick followed by a Curb Stomp to pick up the win and retain the title.
*Randy Orton d. The Fiend w/Alexa Bliss in a Firefly Rules Match The feud between Randy Orton and The Fiend Bray Wyatt reached its climax in a "Firefly Rules" Match, where anything and everything was fair and the only way to win was for your opponent to be incapacitated for a ten count. The demonic clown and the viper used all sorts of different weapons against each other, and The Fiend seemed impervious to everything Orton tried. However Orton reached deep into himself and found an extra level of destruction, eventually using a gas can and matches to set The Fiend on fire in the middle of the ring, as a distraught Alexa Bliss (who had taken to being in The Fiend's corner in recent weeks) looked on in horror. As the flames were put out though, the lights went out and then when they came back, The Fiend's charred remains were gone, as Orton looked on concerned to end the show.

WWE Clash of Champions September 27, 2020 Prudential Center Newark, NJ
*The New Day [Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E] d. Pete Dunne & British Strong Style [Tyler Bate & Trent Severn] Pete Dunne reunited with his old stablemates in British Strong Style, taking on The New Day in this opening six man tag as both. Despite the reunion of the Bruiserweight with his countrymen, the long standing teamwork of the New Day was nearly impossible to overcome, as Big E especially put in work in the match, eventually finishing off Severn after hitting him with a Big Ending.
*Naomi & Ember Moon d. Bayley & Sasha Banks by Pinfall to Win the Women's Tag Team Titles With Ember Moon challenging Bayley for the Women's World Championship later on in the night, she attempted to make the match a twofer, as she teamed with Naomi to try and defeat the Role Models for the Women's Tag Team Championship the same night. Throughout the match, it seemed as if Bayley and Banks would retain their titles again, despite having some tension coming into the night over Bayley's essentially "stealing" the Women's World Title the previous month at Payback. However, their partnership would dissolve in spectacular fashion, when Banks inadvertently hit Bayley with a Boss Away Knee Drop from the top rope, allowing Ember Moon to make the hot tag to Naomi. Naomi then put away Bayley with a Glow Up Facebuster, winning the tag team titles. After the match, Bayley chastised Banks, but the Boss finally had enough, shoving Bayley down and walking away, leaving the Role Model to face Ember Moon alone later in the night.
*Ricochet d. Buddy Murphy by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title The principle acolyte of the Savior of Sports Entertainment, Buddy Murphy, attempted to emulate Rollins' success by winning the United States Title from the One and Only Ricochet. However the high flyer continued his run of dominance, hitting a 630 Senton onto Murphy to pick up the win and retain his title.
*Cesaro & Daniel Bryan d. The Miz & John Morrison by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles The Miz had reignited an old issue with Daniel Bryan, leading to this tag title match between Miz and his partner Morrison against the "Dream Team" of Cesaro and Daniel Bryan. The two former world champions continued to show their surprising level of teamwork, outmatching Miz and Morrison for much of the match, with Bryan eventually hitting Morrison with a Running Knee Strike to pick up the pinfall victory and retain their titles.
*Nikki Cross d. Charlotte Flair by Disqualification [Flair Retains the WWE Women's Championship] After upsetting former champion Shayna Baszler on an episode of Raw, Nikki Cross finally got the opportunity to challenge her "former best friend" Charlotte Flair for the Women's Championship. Much to the Queen's dismay, Cross was far more capable than Charlotte would have gauged, taking control of the match early on. Charlotte clipped Cross' knee at one point in an attempt to take control of the match, but failed to put Cross away as Nikki was able to prevent the Figure 8 from being locked in. In the end, Flair had to resort to kicking the referee low, forcing a disqualification loss but keeping her title.
*Sheamus & Seth Rollins Wrestled to a No Contest [Rollins Retains the WWE Championship] A rare heel vs heel matchup for the WWE Championship barely got underway before it was interrupted by the returning Drew McIntyre. While Rollins sacrificed Buddy Murphy to the rampaging scotsman, the former WWE Champion was clearly more after his former friend Sheamus, as the two men brawled to the back, leaving the title match a No Contest.
*Jeff Hardy d. Bobby Lashley w/The Hurt Business by Disqualification to Retain the Intercontinental Championship The odds were stacked against Jeff Hardy as the Almighty Bobby Lashley brought the Hurt Business with him to try and capture the Intercontinental Championship. However Hardy managed to hold his own, only for Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin to attack the champion, resulting in a disqualification from the 3 on 1 beatdown. Before too much damage could be done, though, The New Day came to the aide of Hardy, saving him from certain injury.
*Bayley d. Ember Moon by Pinfall to Retain the Women's World Championship Ember Moon returned, fresh off her title victory earlier in the night, to challenge Bayley for the Women's World Championship. The Role Model was also reeling from the split with her long time "friend" and tag team partner Sasha Banks, who had abandoned her earlier in the night (and had seemingly left the building). Moon controlled much of the match against Bayley, but the crafty champion managed to avoid getting pinned and eventually take control of the match through underhanded means. This would bring out Banks, whos distraction nearly cost Bayley the title, but Banks would surprisingly help Bayley retain the title, tripping Moon on an Irish Whip, which allowed Bayley to hit a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex to pick up the win and retain the title. Afterwards, Bayley merely watched as Banks walked away.
*Roman Reigns w/Paul Heyman d. Jey Uso w/Jimmy Uso by Referee Stoppage to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship After surprising everyone with his return and having Paul Heyman as his new manager, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns had begun calling himself the Tribal Chief and Head of the Table, referring to himself as the head of the Samoan Anao'i family. He demanded everyone acknowledge his place at the head of the table, but this acknowledgement wasn't offered by Jey Uso, son of Rikishi, who didn't like Heyman's influence over Reigns. This led to a match for the World Title at Clash of Champions, but the championship was seemingly secondary to Reigns, who was simply trying to force Uso to acknowledge him. Despite surprising everyone with how well he performed as a singles star, Jey was ultimately no match for Reigns. However, he refused to give up and Reigns refused to pin him, instead locking him in a Guillotine Choke Hold. Eventually the referee stopped the match without Jey submitting, leaving Jey to be helped by his brother Jimmy, as an introspective Roman left the ring without staying to celebrate to close the show.

NXT Takeover: Denver October 4, 2020 Pepsi Center Denver, CO
*GUNTHER d. Riddick Moss by Pinfall to Retain the International Championship In a standard title defense, the leader of Imperium continued his undefeated streak in NXT, successfully defending the International Championship against Riddick Moss. After the match, Gunther grabbed the microphone and demanded better competition, stating that he would soon stake his claim to the top of NXT.
*The Way [Austin Theory & Dexter Lumis] d. Hit Row [Top Dolla & Ashantae Adonis], Legados del Fantasma [Joaquin Wilde & Cruz del Toro] and Cameron Grimes & Bronson Reed in a Fatal Fourway Match to Become #1 Contenders to the NXT Tag Team Titles 4 Top Teams all tried to stake a claim to the #1 contendership of the NXT Tag Team Titles, with the followers of Johnny Gargano (Austin Theory and Dexter Lumis) controlling much of the match against Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro. The Mexicans managed to gain the upper hand once Cameron Grimes' bodyguard, Bronson Reed, cleared the ring, but Theory eventually caught del Toro with a Double Arm DDT, followed up by a second rope elbow from Lumis to pick up the win and secure a future title shot.
*Swerve Strickland w/B-Fab d. Santos Escobar by Pinfall to Retain the NXT North American Title Hit Row's "lead act" Swerve Strickland defended the North American Title against Legados del Fantasma's Santos Escobar. A high flying match followed which saw Santos nearly pull off the upset several times, only for Strickland to hit a House Call out of nowhere followed up by a Swerve Stomp to pick up the win and retain the title for Hit Row.
*Grizzled Young Veterans [James Drake & Zack Gibson] d. Imperium [Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser] w/Ilya Dragunov by Pinfall to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles The team of Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser had been nearly unstoppable since winning the NXT Tag Team Titles, and looked to continue that dominance against the Grizzled Young Veterans. However, Drake and Gibson more than handled themselves against Imperium, and it would be a miscommunication with the "Mad Maestro" Ilya Dragunov, who attempted to hit Gibson with the NXT Tag Title belt only to miss and hit Vinci instead. Drake then hit Vinci with a 450 Splash to pick up the win and upset, taking the tag titles in the process.
*Io Shirai d. Candace LeRae w/Indi Hartwell by Pinfall to Win the NXT Women's Championship The Mistress of the Sky, Io Shirai, had won the #1 contendership for the NXT Women's Championship by winning a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair (both of whom would enter the main roster shortly thereafter). Against the Fairy Queen, Candace LeRae, and her disciple Indi Hartwell, Shirai was taken to the ground quickly, as LeRae worked over the high flyer's knee. Despite this, Shirai powered out of a Figure 4 Leglock and eventually caught LeRae off guard with a springboard clothesline from the 2nd rope. After taking out Hartwell, Shirai eventually hit her Moonsault to pick up the win and capture the NXT Women's Championship.
*The Undisputed Era [Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish] d. Roderick Strong, Damian Priest & Finn Balor by Pinfall The feud between the Undisputed Era and their former member, Roderick Strong, had continued unabated throughout the summer in NXT, leading to Strong recruiting two former champions in NXT, Damian Priest and Finn Balor, to face the currently constructed trio. There was strong question as to whether or not Priest and Balor could trust Strong, as implications were made by Adam Cole that Strong would rejoin the UE. These proved to be nothing but mindgames however. In the end, the teamwork of the Era would be too much to overcome, as O'Reilly and Fish hit Balor with the Hi-Lo to eventually pick up the win and escape this Takeover.
*Johnny Gargano d. Dijak by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Dominik Dijakovic, now going by the shorter name of Dijak, had seemingly had the number of NXT Champion and leader of the Way, Johnny Gargano, for several weeks since Gargano had failed to recruit Dijak into his stable. Dijak had pinned Gargano in tag matches on two occasions, leading to NXT General Manager William Regal to grant him this title match. Dijak overpowered Gargano throughout the match, but Johnny Wrestling was able to get help from his disciples, Austin Theory and Dexter Lumis, who distracted Dijak long enough for Gargano to hit the One Last Heartbeat to pick up the win and retain his title. After the match, it looked like The Way would lay into Dijak further, only for familiar music to play in the Arena and for Tommasso Ciampa to make his return to NXT. Ciampa made a beeline for his former tag partner, chasing the Way out of the ring as Gargano accidentally left the NXT Title behind. Ciampa then held up "Goldie" to close the show.
