*Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolan, Jacy Jayne & The Divine Miss Toni Storm d. Raquel Rodriguez, Io Shirai, Cora Jade & Blair Davenport in a WarGames Match

The Women's Division in NXT had been seemingly taken over by a new faction called Toxic Attraction. Mandy Rose and her Mean Girl Acolytes, Gigi Dolan and Jacy Jayne, had made it their mission to keep the NXT Women's Championship on Rose at all times. In this Wargames Match, the trio teamed with former champion The Divine Miss Toni Storm to take on a trio of babyfaces along with Storm's former "understudy" Blair Davenport inside the WarGames cage. After all 8 women were in the cage, it would be Rose who would hit Davenport with a Bed of Thorns to pick up the win for her team.

*Pretty Deadly [Elton Prince & Kit Wilson] d. MSK [Wes Lee & Nash Carter] & The Breakker Crew [Ben & Von Breakker] in a Triple Threat Match to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles

The flamboyant duo of Pretty Deadly had continued to feud with the Breakker Crew over the NXT Tag Team Titles, but in this match they were joined by the high flying duo of MSK. Lee and Carter came close to upending Ben & Von Breakker (who defended the titles, since their partner was in the Main Event War Games match), with Lee hitting Ben Breakker with a Cardiac Kick. However Prince then rolled up Lee from behind and got the quick three count while holding the tights, stealing the victory and the tag titles for he and his partner.

*Joe Gacy d. Dante Chen by Pinfall

A self-described "Life Coach," Joe Gacy had been undefeated on NXT television since making his debut a month or so before this WarGames Special. Against perennial talent Dante Chen, Gacy continued the facade of an affable personality before the bell, only to attack with surprising viciousness during the match, easily besting Chen and hitting him with his finisher, a Full Nelson Slam called the Schism to pick up the win.

*Austin Theory d. Kyle O'Reilly by Pinfall to Retain the North American Title

The last remnants of the Undisputed Era, Kyle O'Reilly, challenged Austin Theory for the North American Title. The self-professed "Cool Kyle" came close to upending the brash Theory, but Austin caught O'Reilly with a low blow behind the referee's back before hitting the A-Town Down to pick up the win and retain the title.

*LA Knight d. Cameron Grimes in a "Servant for 30 Days" Match

The feud between LA Knight and Cameron Grimes reached its final episode with this special No Disqualification Match, with the loser being forced to be the winner's servant for thirty days. Despite the best efforts of the Entepreneur of NXT, Grimes was without his bodyguard Bronson Reed, leaving him to face Knight alone. Knight took advantage and eventually hit the Blunt Force Trauma for the win and the final victory over Grimes.

*Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Dijak, Santos Escobar & Bobby Roode d. Imperium [Gunther, Ilya Dragunov, Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser] & Bronson Reed in a WarGames Match

As Imperium had reigned over NXT for nearly a year, a group led by Bobby Roode and Santos Escobar challenged the quartet to a WarGames match in an effort to finally get a victory over NXT champion Gunther and position themselves for the title. Imperium enlisted the help of Big Bronson Reed to be their fifth man, but this wouldn't help the dominant faction, as they suffered a rare loss when Breakker pinned Dragunov after a massive Spear, with Gunther handcuffed to the cage wall to prevent his escape. The Ring General could only then watch as his protege Dragunov was pinned, and the five babyfaces celebrated to end the show.

Good to open with the women's Wargames match and close with the men's, but I never liked having two huge matches like that the same on the same show. Same thing with elimination chamber.

Interesting to see where Knight and Grimes goes with him having to be Knight's servant for 30 days.

Faces needed to go over in the main event. I could see that being really good. I like the use of Reed here, because it's a reason for why he wasn't involved in Grimes vs. Knight.

Gacy match kind of read like a squash, but I can see him needing that to get over.

*Alpha Academy [Chad Gable & Otis] d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods] by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles

The New Day had enjoyed something of a resurgence in success in recent months, with Kingston and Woods regaining the World Tag Team Titles and successfully defending them. However their string of victories came to an end against the Alpha Academy, more specifically at the hands of Otis, who manhandled Kingston and kept him isolated from Woods. Xavier attempted to make a comeback when he finally made the tag, but the referee never saw the tag, forcing Woods back into his corner and missing the double team from Gable and Otis, before Gable would hit an Olympic Slam on Kingston for the win and the tag titles.

*Drew McIntyre d. Lucky Corbin w/Maniac Moss by Disqualification [Corbin Retains the Intercontinental Title]

For several weeks the Intercontinental Champion Lucky Corbin had been rather unlucky in dealing with the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre, who had embarrased him on numerous occasions and beaten him in a non-title match shortly after Survivor Series. This led to McIntyre receiving a title shot at Day One. At first it appeared McIntyre would continue his run of dominance, controlling the match against the champion. But interference from Maniac Moss would save Corbin's championship, giving McIntyre the victory via disqualification. After the match, Moss and Corbin continued to fight with McIntyre into the back, ultimately smashing the Scottish Warriors Head in a chair and seemingly injuring his neck.

*Sami Zayn d. Bray Wyatt by Pinfall

When Bray Wyatt had made his latest return prior to Summerslam, he had done so seemingly in a new persona that was closer to his real life self, that of Windham Rotunda, rather than the Fiend or as his previous Wyatt persona. WWE's resident conspiracy theorist, Sami Zayn, had doubted Wyatt's sincerity, and the two had been engaged in a feud leading into Day One. The match started off with little note, with Wyatt using his strength and size advantage to control the match. However towards the end of the match, a strange figure clad in a top hat and overcoat seemingly appeared on the Titantron, combined with lights flickering and a spooky atmosphere. This distracted (and seemingly disturbed) Bray enough to cause him to be rolled up by Zayn, who also held a handful of tights to pick up the cheap win.

*Charlotte Flair d. Liv Morgan by Pinfall to Retain the Women's Championship

Courtesy of her winning the Queen of the Ring tournament back in November, Liv Morgan was granted a title opportunity against Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. In the build to the match, much was made of Liv's childhood dream to become a champion in WWE and her rags to riches story of coming this far to be a superstar. Liv fought valiantly throughout the match, even managing to escape the Figure 8 by getting to the ropes. However Charlotte's experience proved the difference as she hit the Natural Selection followed by a moonsault for the victory. After the match, a deflated but sportsmanlike Morgan offered a hand of congratulations, only to eat a slap from Charlotte as the haughty Queen left the ring with her title in tact.

*The Unholy Union [Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn] d. Chelsea Green & Naomi by Pinfall to Retain the Women's Tag Team Titles

The WWE's own resident "Modern Day Diva" Chelsea Green had been trying to find a tag team partner who would help her claim the Women's Tag Team Titles. She had managed to convince former Women's Champion Naomi to her side, as the two challenged the Unholy Union for the titles. However the duo couldn't mix well, and Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn had little difficulty taking out the mismatched pair (largely due to Green's overconfidence) to retain their titles.

*Tomasso Ciampa d. The Miz w/Maryse & R-Truth by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title

The Miz had reunited with his former tag partner from almost a decade prior in R-Truth, en route to challenging Tomasso Ciampa for the United States Championship (although Truth was insistent that Miz was challenging Triple H for the title). Despite having recently been on a losing skid, Miz gave everything he had to try and take out Ciampa, only to be hit with a Fairy Tale Ending which allowed Ciampa to retain his title.

*Roman Reigns w/Paul Heyman d. Seth Rollins by Disqualification to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins had won the King of the Ring tournament back in November, and due to his unique status as a "free agent" (as Rollins claimed to be a friend with Shane McMahon, hence why he had this special deal) was allowed to challenge for either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins elected to face his old Shield Teammate for his title, playing Mind Games with the Head of the Table by coming out to his old Shield theme and ring gear for several weeks. This did help Rollins during the match, as Reigns appeared distracted throughout, but it ultimately wouldn't help Rollins win the title, as Brock Lesnar made an appearance to attack both men, laying out both Rollins and Reigns (but technically attacking Reigns first, giving him the disqualification victory.)

*Big E d. Bobby Lashley w/MVP in a Steel Cage Match to Retain the WWE Championship

The Almighty Bobby Lashley tried to regain the WWE Title for the final time by challenging the man who beat him for the title, Big E, inside of a steel cage. The two heavy hitters battered each other from one side of the cage to the other, and in the end Big E pulled out another victory over the All Mighty, breaking out of the Hurt Lock and hitting a Jackhammer to pick up the win. After the match, Big E's stable mates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods came out to celebrate another successful title defense with him to close the show.

WWE Royal Rumble

January 29, 2022

*Liv Morgan Won the Women's Royal Rumble

The Women's Royal Rumble would kick things off this year, and for the first time in its history it would feature 40 participants, ranging both from current stars, to old time legends, to several NXT stars as well. The odds on favorite going in was Bianca Belair, who had won the Rumble the year before and was looking to get back to Wrestlemania to challenge "Big Time" Becky Lynch for the title that Lynch had taken from her at Summerslam. She had an impressive run, even single handedly eliminating former Divas champion Kharma from the match. However Lynch herself would be a surprise entrant, and though the EST eliminated Lynch from the match, the distraction would cause Bianca's own elimination as well. The other odds on favorite was Rhea Ripley, who would once again survive to the final two in her quest to regain Women's gold. Joining her would be Queen of the Ring winner Liv Morgan, who came in as a sentimental favorite following her close title victory at Day One. The two would survive other top contenders like Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler and a returning Alexa Bliss, before fighting it out between themselves on the apron of the ring. Ripley nearly got Liv, getting her to barely hang on for dear life, but when Rhea went to big boot Liv off the apron, Liv ducked down, causing Rhea to lose her balance. Liv then hit a dropkick to send Ripley to the floor, picking up the win and punching her ticket to Wrestlemania.

*Ricochet & Braun Strowman d. The Usos by Disqualification [Usos Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles]

The Human Highlight Reel Ricochet had recently defeated both members of the Usos in Singles action, only to be attacked by the Tag Team Champions afterwards, leading to Ricochet being challenged to find a tag partner to take on the Bloodline. To the shock of everyone, a returning Braun Strowman would provide the support for Ricochet, running roughshod through the Usos and nearly taking the tag titles on his own. In the end, the Usos would get themselves intentionally disqualified by hitting Strowman with the title belts, but it would do little damage as the Monster Amongst Men merely chased the champions away. The challengers got the duke, but the Usos retained via their intentional DQ.

*Charlotte Flair d. Piper Niven by Submission to Retain the WWE Women's Championship

The lingering feud between Charlotte Flair and Piper Niven over the Women's Championship reached its final conclusion in this Submission Match for the title. Despite not being a submission specialist, Niven attempted to use her power and strength to lay out the Queen, attempting to literally choke the championship from her. Flair was ale to pull out a victory though, locking Niven in a Figure 8 and eventually getting the submission victory.

*Roman Reigns w/Paul Heyman d. Shinsuke Nakamura w/Rick Boogs by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship

Shinsuke Nakamura had won a Battle Royal on Smackdown to gain a shot at Roman Reigns' World Heavyweight Championship, something with a bit more intrigue based on the fact that Nakamura was another former "Paul Heyman guy" like Brock Lesnar (though Lesnar wouldn't get involved in this match, owing to his Royal Rumble appearance later in the night). Reigns and Nakamura had a fairly standard match, and the Japanese star nearly got a win with a Boma Ye out of nowhere. But Roman was able to get his feet on the rope to break up the pinfall. In the end, Roman hit two successive Spears to finish off the former King of the Ring, retaining his title in a fairly standard match.

*Gable Steveson d. Sami Zayn by Countout

Between World Title matches, Gable Steveson was introduced at ringside as one of the newest signees into WWE's developmental system in NXT. He was confronted at ringside by Sami Zayn, who had failed to qualify for the Royal Rumble match and was out complaining about a conspiracy against him. Zayn challenged Steveson to a match right then and there, and Steveson accepted. He tossed Zayn across the ring a couple of times, embarrasing the former WWE Champion and causing Sami to abandon the match, giving Steveson his first technical WWE victory via Countout in the impromptu match.

*Edge d. Big E by Pinfall to Win the WWE Championship

Similar to Nakamura on Smackdown, the leader of the Judgment Day had won a one night tournament on Raw to become #1 contender to Big E's WWE Title. The Judgment Day and the New Day had then engaged in a series of matches leading into the title contest, with Big E nursing bad ribs as a result of an attack from Damian Priest. However Adam Pearce had ordered all men to stay away from ringside, leading to a standard match. After the referee took a bump though, it didn't stop Dexter Lumis from coming to ringside with a steel chair to help his stable leader. Lumis hit Big E with a steel chair, breaking up a pinfall after the champion hit the Judgment Day leader with a Jackhammer. This brought out Kofi Kingston, who defended Big E only to be taken out by Lumis and Edge. Xavier Woods then came to the aide of both his stable mates, bringing his own steel chair to the ring. Woods cleared out Edge and Lumis as Kingston lay on the ground, but then shocked everyone when he drilled Big E across the head with the chair as the champion got to his feet. An emotionless Woods then tossed the chair down and left through the crowd, as Edge scrambled over and Lumis revived the referee. Edge got the pin and finally regained a World Championship, as the stunned crowd was left wondering what had possessed Woods to end the New Day out of the blue.

*Randy Orton & Kevin Owens Are Declared Co-Winners of the Men's Royal Rumble

The Men's Royal Rumble match (also with 40 entrants, but for the 2nd time in its existence) had no shortage of surprises and entries in it. Legends like Jeff Jarrett and Ken Shamrock made their returns for brief cameos, while major names like AJ Styles were eliminated by Logan Paul. Shane McMahon made an appearance in the match, only to be unceremoniously dumped by Bobby Lashley. Bray Wyatt appeared early on, but would be taken out by the official debut of the entity known only as 'Uncle Howdy', who eliminated himself in the process. Brock Lesnar came in as the overwhelming favorite, as he sought the only way open to him to challenge Roman Reigns in the future. However Lesnar would be eliminated by hometown favorite Randy Orton, who was seeking his 2nd Rumble win in St. Louis. Orton would last all the way to the end, only to be joined by a returning Kevin Owens. Owens had been injured (in reality he had just resigned a few weeks earlier) and had gotten the advantage through luck of the draw of being the final man to enter the match. Owens and Orton fought between themselves, going back and forth for five minutes before Orton seemed to get a head of steam. He attempted to clothesline Owens over the top rope, but both men toppled over the top and landed on the floor at the same time. After some confusion, both Owens and Orton were declared the "co-winners" of the Royal Rumble by Adam Pearce, with both men simply staring at each other for the possible ramifications of Wrestlemania 38 to close the show.

*The Unholy Union [Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn] d. Kayden Chance & Katana Carter by Pinfall to Retain the Women's Tag Team Titles

The Women's Tag Team champions came down from the main roster to face the party duo of Kayden Chance and Katana Carter, putting their tag team titles on the line. Despite a strong showing from the rookie pairing, The Wicked Wiccans were able to retain their titles after Isla Dawn hit Chance with an inverted powerbomb, followed by a slingshot splash from Alba Fyre for the victory.

*Joe Gacy & Karrion Kross w/Scarlett d. The Breakker Crew [Bron & Von Breakker] w/Ben Breakker by Pinfall

NXT's resident "life coach" had tried to recruit the former NXT Tag Team Champions, the Breakker Crew, into joining up with his new philosophy. They turned him down, and Gacy promised to bring in his newest recruit to counter the trio. To the surprise of everyone, the new recruit turned out to be the returning Karrion Kross. The Walking Apocalypse destroyed the Breakker Crew, even able to over power the impressive Bron Breakker in the tag match, before Gacy picked up the pieces by pinning Von Breakker after hitting the Schism.

*Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams d. Austin Theory by Pinfall to Win the NXT North American Title

Carmelo Hayes had (with the help of his hype man Trick Williams) won a triple threat match to become #1 contender to Austin Theory's North American Title. The rare heel vs heel match had added interest when Bobby Roode was named the special guest referee by newly appointed NXT General Manager Shawn Michaels. Roode would call the match down the middle, getting on both men for any underhanded tactics that they might try. In the end though, the numbers game helped Hayes, as Williams distracted Roode long enough for Hayes to counter Theory's attempt at using the North American Title Belt for Hayes to drill Theory with it instead. Hayes then hit the Nothing But Net to pick up the victory. After the match, while jawing with Roode, Hayes would be shoved to the mat by the former champion. Williams attacked Roode from behind, but quickly was overpowered and hit with a Glorious DDT as Hayes beat a hasty retreat.

*LA Knight & MSK [Wes Lee & Nash Carter] d. Bronson Reed & Pretty Deadly [Kit Wilson & Elton Prince] by Pinfall

Cameron Grimes' 30 day stint as the servant of LA Knight had come to an end in early January, but not before Grimes used his bodyguard Bronson Reed as well as the NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly to set up an ambush for his "employer", leading to Knight being temporarily shelved in Kayfabe. A six man tag was set up with Reed and the champions facing Knight and his partners, MSK. The high flying duo would take out Reed, leaving him lying on the outside after a two on one assault. In the end, Knight helped MSK take a pinfall on the Tag Team Champions, hitting Wilson with a Blunt Force Trauma as Lee hit a moonsault from the top rope to pick up the big win.

*Mandy Rose w/Toxic Attraction d. Cora Jade by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Women's Championship

Impressive youngster Cora Jade took on Mandy Rose for the NXT Women's Title, and to the surprise of many it seemed like Jade would come close to winning the title on a number of occasions (especially after Raquel Rodriguez came to the challenger's aide, chasing off Toxic Attraction). In the end however Rose would catch the underexperienced Jade off center and hit the Bed of Thorns to pick up a hard earned win and retain her title.

*Gunther w/Imperium d. Ilya Dragunov by Technical Submission to Retain the NXT Championship

After losing the WarGames match in December, Gunther decided to "improve" the Imperium stable by removing the weak link. At first it appeared that would be Giovanni Vinci, but in a swerve it would prove to be Ilya Dragunov. The Mad Maestro of the Mat was exiled from Imperium following a three on one beatdown, but Dragunov would prove to be the smarter man, as he cashed in the Brass Ring title shot he had earned the previous year for Vengeance Day. He further proved his mettle in a non-title match against Gunther in early January, becoming the first man to cleanly pin the champion. After a hard hitting, back and forth match, that saw both Vinci and Kaiser be ejected for attempted interference, Dragunov would come up just short, attempting a second Torpedo Moscow, only for the Ring General to dodge out of the way and then lock in a Sleeper Hold on Dragunov. Despite attempting to break free, the Russian would eventually fade, giving Gunther the hard earned victory via technical submission to close the show.

*Tomasso Ciampa d. The Miz & R-Truth by Pinfall to Retain the United States Championship

United States Champion Tomasso Ciampa had been feuding with both The Miz and his on-again, off-again tag partner, R-Truth, for the better part of a couple of months. This set up this triple threat match for the US Title, with the so-called Awesome Truth. Miz and R-Truth at first appeared like they would team up against Ciampa, but quickly R-Truth got "confused" and started teaming with Ciampa instead (in he build he said he always wanted to team with "Triple H".) In the end, Ciampa hit R-Truth with the Fairy Tale Ending to pick up the win again and retain his title.

*Bianca Belair d. Asuka, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Chelsea Green & Alexa Bliss in an Elimination Chamber Match

With Liv Morgan challenging Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania, the winner of the Elimination Chamber for the Women would get a shot for the Women's World Championship at the Showcase of the Immortals. Bianca Belair entered the match as the odds on favorite, but that status was called into question when she was forced to enter the match at #1 by luck of the draw, starting off against Sonya Deville. Alexa Bliss, who had made her return at the Royal Rumble, was the last to enter the chamber, but seemed more concerned with Chelsea Green than anything else. In the end it would come down to Belair and Asuka, with Belair actually managing to break out of the Rising Sun submission hold and hit Asuka with the KOD to pick up the win, and punch her ticket to Wrestlemania.

*Alpha Academy [Chad Gable & Otis] & The Street Profits [Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins] Wrestled to a No Contest [Alpha Academy Retain the World Tag Team Titles]

Wih the former champions, The Grizzled Young Veterans, sitting at ringside potentially awaiting the winners of this match for the World Tag Titles. However the match would be crashed by an unlikely force, as the returning War Raiders made their presence felt, attacking all six men in the area. While Gable and Otis were able to mostly escape from the fracass, the War Raiders left the Vets and Profits lying as they stood tall.

*Kofi Kingston d. Xavier Woods by Disqualification

At the Royal Rumble, to the shock of everyone, Xavier Woods had turned on his New Day brethren, costing Big E the WWE Championship and striking out on his own, tired of being seen as "the funny one" of the group due to his lack of success. While Big E hadn't been seen since the Rumble, the third member of the group, Kofi Kingston, had taken it upon himself to try and reach out to Woods, and if necessary "beat some sense into him." However it was clear from the start that Kofi wasn't interested in fighting Woods, while Xavier was looking to hurt Kofi. It didn't take long for Woods to lay into Kofi with weapons, disregarding the referee entirely as he used a steel chair to lay out Kingston, giving Kofi the DQ win. Woods specifically targeted Kofi's ankle, and looked to "Pillmanize" the former WWE Champion with the chair in hopes of shattering Kofi's ankle. However before he could, Big E made his way to ringside, chasing Woods out of the ring and into the crowd before checking on the injured Kingston.

*Becky Lynch d. Lita by Submission to Retain the Women's World Championship

After the Royal Rumble, WWE Hall of Famer Lita had made a claim that she still had something left in the tank, and challenged the current Women's World Champion Becky Lynch to a match for the title. Big Time Becks accepted the challenge, but clearly didn't give much consideration to her challenger, at least until Lita caught her off guard and nearly won with an early Moonsault. Becky then slowed down the match and eventually won with the Dis-Arm-Her submission. After the match, Lynch was confronted by Bianca Belair in the aisleway, a preview of their match to come at Wrestlemania.

*Seth Rollins w/Shane McMahon d. Bobby Lashley w/MVP by Pinfall

In the weeks leading to and since the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins had aligned himself with WWE minority owner Shane McMahon, as Shane attempted to influence who he thought the top star in WWE should be. This continued at the Rumble, when both Rollins and McMahon came face to face with the Almighty Bobby Lashley. In this one on one match, Lashley used his power to control much of the match, but McMahon's interference on the outside would distract Lashley at an inopportune time, allowing Rollins to KO Lashley with a pair of brass knuckles and then hit the Curb Stomp for the win.

*Finn Balor d. AJ Styles, Lucky Corbin, Rey Mysterio, Damian Priest & Johnny Gargano in an Elimination Chamber Match

In the men's Eliminaion Chamber match, the winner was set to receive a match against WWE Champion Edge at Wrestlemania 38 (due to both Kevin Owens and Randy Orton seeking a match against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns). Damian Priest had been specifically entered into the Chamber match by Edge in an attempt to take out the competition, but he was eliminated first by Finn Balor. Balor would survive to the end against Intercontinental Champion Lucky Corbin, and it appeared that Corbin might win, but out from under the Chamber suddenly came a returning Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior hit Corbin with a Claymore, knocking him out and allowing Balor to hit a Coup de Grace for the win. After the match, though, Priest came back out and attacked Balor, hitting a Razor's Edge through the Plexiglass wall of one of the Pods of the Chamber and leaving him lying.

*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] w/Paul Heyman & Roman Reigns d. RK-Bro [Randy Orton & Matt Riddle] w/Kevin Owens by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton had, for the first time ever, been named co-winners of the Royal Rumble. Rather than each man taking a separate match for a world title, both men wanted a shot at Roman Reigns' World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania. WWE official Adam Pearce made the call to have one man challenge Reigns on night one, while the other would meet the winner on Night 2. He also allowed Reigns to choose the opponent for a match for the Night 2 challenger, to ensure everyone would wrestle two matches over the weekend. Here though, the WWE Tag Titles were on the line, as The Usos (with Reigns in their corner) defended against former champions Orton and Matt Riddle, who had Owens in their corner. The two teams had a fairly standard match that devolved into a six man brawl in the end once the referee fell down, with Orton eventually "accidentally" hitting Owens with an RKO before eating a Spear from Reigns. Orton was then pinned following an Uso Splash, allowing the Champions to Retain to close the show.

NXT: Stand and Deliver

*MSK [Wes Lee & Nash Carter] d. Pretty Deadly [Kit Wilson & Elton Prince] by Pinfall to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles

The high flying duo of Wes Lee and Nash Carter challenged Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Titles to kick off the major NXT event, and in the early going they were completely dominant, at least until Carter missed a dive over the top rope, allowing Prince and Wilson to take control. Slowing the match down, Pretty Deadly hit a variety of high impact moves that nearly won them the match, until Carter finally got away long enough to make the tag to Lee. Wes Lee took out both of the tag champions and overcame a double team effort, with Carter sacrificing himself to take out Wilson while Lee hit Elton Prince with the Cardiac Kick to pick up the win and finally secure the Tag Team Titles for MSK.

*Karrion Kross w/Joe Gacy & Scarlett d. LA Knight by Pinfall

LA Knight had entered into a brief feud with Joe Gacy, when the latter interrupted Knight during a promo segment on NXT television. Rather than face Gacy at Stand and Deliver though, Gacy would elect to have Knight face his "Walking Apocalypse" Karrion Kross. The former NXT North American champion laid waste to Knight, hitting him with three successive Kross Hammers before finishing him off with the Final Testament for a decisive win.

*Imperium [Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci] d. The Breakker Crew [Von & Ben Breakker] by Pinfall

This tag team match had an impact on the main event of Stand and Deliver, as the winning team would be allowed to be at ringside during the NXT Title match between Gunther and Bron Breakker. Von Breakker took out Vinci early on, leaving Kaiser and Ben Breakker to be alone in most of the match, before Vinci was able to sneak in and distract the referee long enough for Kaiser to score a rollup victory. During and after the match, medical personnel checked on Von Breakker, and eventually helped him to the back.

*Grayson Waller Effect With Tony D'Angelo, The Family, and Stone Cold Steve Austin

The self-professed "Aussie Icon" Grayson Waller held a special edition of the "Grayson Waller Effect" at Stand and Deliver, with his special guest being Tony D'Angelo and his Family. The D'Angelo Family claimed that they would now be the hosts of Wrestlemania in lieu of the scheduled host, Stone Cold Steve Austin, due to Austin meeting with an "unfortunate accident." However their claims were quickly dashed when Austin showed up. Austin wound up Stunning both D'Angelo and Stacks, chasing the family away, before Stunning Waller for good measure.

*Mandy Rose w/Toxic Attraction d. Raquel Rodriguez by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Women's Championship

After several months Raquel Rodriguez had finally earned another one on one match for the NXT Women's Championship against Mandy Rose, though the champion was joined by her Toxic Attraction teammates at ringside at the start of the match. However, Jayne and Dolan would be removed from ringside shortly after by the referee, making the match one on one. Rodriguez came close to winning the match, hitting a Tejana Bomb on Rose. However, as the referee tried to count to three, a masked woman came from the crowd and pulled the referee out, breaking up the count. The woman then revealed herself to be Indi Hartwell, whom Rodriguez had spurned receiving help from a few weeks prior on NXT. Rodriguez looked to go after her, but when she chased her into the ring Raquel ate a shot from the title belt from the recovered Mandy Rose. Hartwell then revived the referee and tossed them back into the ring to count the fall, allowing Rose to retain her title yet again.

*Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams d. Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Retain the NXT North American Championship

Former NXT legend Bobby Roode was continuing to try and regain gold in the brand, challenging Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Title. Hayes and Roode had a competitive match that eventually saw Hayes score something of an upset over the Glorious One, winning after hitting the Nothing But Net on Roode for the victory.

*Bron Breakker d. Gunther w/Imperium by Pinfall to Win the NXT Championship

The long reigning NXT Champion had the advantage on Bron Breakker early on, as Imperium was at ringside with him per their victory over the Breakker Crew earlier in the night. However the odds were evened when Ilya Draganov appeared at ringside, taking out Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, making the match between the second generation star and the Ring General a true one on one affair. Despite Gunther using every trick in his offense, Breakker was able to withstand all of it, eventually hitting two successive Spears followed by a slam out of a Gorilla Press for the victory, to finally end the year plus reign of Gunther as NXT Champion. The NXT locker room emptyed of faces to celebrate with Breakker to close the show.
