WWE Monday Night RAW

Monday -- Week 1 -- September 2023

LIVE! from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

- The show opens with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes coming to the ring. He speaks for a second about retaining the title at SummerSlam and then turns his attention to AJ Styles. He is angry at AJ for kicking him in the balls. He says he's been nothing but fair and gracious to AJ and this is how AJ repays him? Cody says he's done playing nice. He's in full-on attack mode on AJ and he has already gone to management and asked for AJ to be given the next title match, at Clash of the Champions. Cody mentions Clash of the Champions being a title that means a lot to him when he's interrupted by Ilja Dragunov of all people. Ilja introduces himself and says that he has been traded to Raw and now that he's here he's looking to make a name for himself. Ilja praises Cody and then asks if Cody would be willing to face him tonight so Ilja can see where he stacks up against the best of the best. Ilja says he isn't asking for a title match because he doesn't deserve one. He just wants a match. Cody agrees to the match and we have our main event set. | 95

- Seth Freakin' Rollins defeated Pete Dunne by pinfall in 13:24. This was a really good match between two guys who worked really hard. Rollins won with the Curb Stomp. | 81

- After the match is over Rollins is celebrating and Logan Paul joins him in the ring. Paul pulls out brass knuckles as Rollins has his back to Paul. When Rollins turns around Paul knocks him out with a punch with the brass knuckles on his hand. | 67

- New United States Champion Drew McIntyre comes down to the ring. He says he has a big announcement to make. He says that growing up he was a huge WWE fan and his favorite thing in the world was the European Championship. Drew says he's proud to be representing the United States but Drew has been badgering management to bring the European Championship back for months. After he won the US Title on Saturday night he was approached by management and told that the European Championship WILL be making a comeback. So Drew has decided to hand in the US title and enter himself into the European Championship Tournament that begins this week on WWE's European Tour. | 80

- New WWE World Tag Team Champions the Street Profits are backstage still celebrating their title win. Bianca enters, looking sullen, and the Profits immediately stop celebrating. Bianca laughs and tells them to keep going. Montez says he doesn't want to make Bianca feel any worse. Bianca says that losing to Rhea at SummerSlam was humbling and disappointing but at least she now has a chance to take out her frustration on tonight. | 86

- Bianca Belair beat Valhalla in 5:50. Valhalla jumps Bianca before the bell and beats her down pretty good. | 70

- After the match, Erik and Ivar -- the Viking Raiders -- make their way down to the ring. The two men and Valhalla surround Bianca in the ring. Valhalla gets a mic and calls out the Street Profits and says that her attack on Bianca is a message that the Profits title reign is going to be short lived. Valhalla jumps Bianca and they brawl. Bianca gets the upper hand but Ivar grabs his arms and holds her in place for Valhalla but the Profits run out and clear the ring and check on Bianca. | 67

- Triple H is backstage with Byron Saxton. Byron asks Triple H about his big announcement and Triple H announces a TALENT INJECTION DRAFT will be taking place next week live on Peacock. | 82

- Edge is out now. He says that losing in Toronto isn't the best way for his career to come to an end so he's happy to announce that he's not retiring -- yet. He says the end is getting close but it's not here yet. And because of that he's been given permission to show up on SmackDown this week to issue a challenge. But tonight, he'd never forgive himself if he didn't do this -- he calls out Brock Lesnar. Brock comes storming down to the ring. Edge meets him in the aisleway and they brawl until producers and road agents rush out to break up the fight. | Talking: 100 -- Fight: 87

- Liv Morgan pins Iyo Sky at 12:16. | 77

- After the match, Liv Morgan announces she will challenge Rhea Ripley for the WWE World Women's Championship at Clash of the Champions. | 64

- LA Knight comes down to the ring. He brags about beating Edge and claims that the win makes him the King of Toronto. Before he can continue the crowd pops as they hear "GLORIOUS!" come from the speakers. After a few moments of build up the lights dim and a spotlight hits the entrance way and Robert Roode emerges, back under his Glorious gimmick, and walks down to the ring. Roode gets in the ring and takes the mic from LA's hands and pretends he's going to say something but instead he slaps LA Knight in the face and the two men begin brawling as the show goes to commercial. | 100

- After the break it is announced that an impromptu match between Roode and Knight was signed by Mick Foley and the match is already underway. Robert Roode defeats LA Knight by DQ at 14:15 when Knight gets frustrated and goes outside and grabs a chair and nails Roode in the back with it. | 79

- Back in his office Mick Foley is meeting with Austin Theory. Cathy Kelley interrupts to tell Mick that it's time for his announcement. Foley sits at his desk and says that with Drew McIntyre vacating the United States Championship and Clash of the Champions being the next PLE on the calendar, they need to crown a new US Champion. So Foley has decided that at Clash of the Champions there will be a ladder match to crown the new US Champion. Foley then says that Austin Theory, as the previous champion, is automatically entered into the match. The rest of the participants will be announced whenever possible. | 79

- Becky Lynch comes down to the ring. She calls Tegan Nox out. Nox joins her and Becky starts by apologizing to her for losing the Women's Tag Team Titles. Tegan says she doesn't have to apologize but Becky says she does. Becky says she lost sight on her surroundings as she relished in the thought of beating Charlotte with the Manhandle Slam. Becky says that she won't let it happen again and then asks Tegan if she'll keep teaming with her and fight to get the tag titles back. Tegan says she will. Suddenly Charlotte and Tessa appear on the screen and mock the former champs. Charlotte says they've spent the past two days celebrating their title win at an exclusive resort. But when they decide to come back to the show Charlotte wants to stand face-to-face with Becky in the middle of the ring -- and laugh at her. Becky says she's going to relish beating Charlotte's face in the next chance she gets. Charlotte tells Becky that she's dreaming too big if she thinks that will happen. Charlotte then officially announces that Brian Pillman Jr is the newest member of Fourever and Becky challenges Pillman to drive to the arena and get in the ring so she can slap the "stupid ass haircut" right off his head. Becky tells Charlotte that this isn't over and she won't rest until she's gotten her revenge. | 99

- Judgment Day backstage segment. Rhea scoffs at the idea that Liv Morgan is the new #1 contender. Then Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh each begin trying to get Dominik to use his blank contract how they see fit. Dom says he won the ability to call his shot and he plans on doing just that. Dom apologizes to his JD teammates but says he knows exactly what he's doing. | 81

- Karrion Kross dominated Rick Boogs in a glorified squash match and pinned him at 5:47. | 69

- Rollins is backstage icing his neck when he's approached by Byron Saxton who asks for a comment on what happened earlier. Rollins is pissed and says that he's embarrassed he ever trusted Logan Paul and says that he is going to go out of his way, if he has to, to make sure he gets his hands on Logan. | 71

- Matt Cardona defeats Tommaso Ciampa by pinfall at 11:33. | 67

- Cathy Kelley is backstage with an injury update on Randy Orton. She says that Orton's eye is still not good enough to clear him for competition but there is no evidence of any long-term damage caused by Scarlett throwing sand in Orton's eyes. | 47

- WWE World Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes defeats Ilja Dragunov in a fantastic back-and-forth match in 22:49. Dragunov misses a flying uppercut and Cody hits the Cody Cutter and the Cross Rhodes for the win. | 82

- After the match Cody and Ilja shake hands but AJ Styles shows up and attacks Cody from behind. As AJ is beating up Cody, Ilja Dragunov gets back in the ring and makes the save, knocking AJ to the outside. The show goes off the air with AJ and Ilja yelling at one another. | 72

Live! from London, England

- The show opens with new WWE Universal Women's Champion Asuka making her way to the ring with Kairi Sane at her side. She gets in the ring and talks about how she beat Sasha Banks so bad that Sasha was forced to quit by the doctors. Asuka says she is the most dangerous woman in WWE and to prove that she is going to issue an open challenge tonight. Who thinks they have what it takes to handle Asuka?!? Some unfamiliar music plays and to the shock of everyone JAMIE HAYTER comes down to the ring. She tells Asuka that she knows that Asuka knows who she is, and she knows Asuka is shocked to see her here. Hayter says she's just signed with WWE and there's no better place for her to debut than an hour and a half away from where she grew up. Hayter wants the title but Asuka says the match will be non-title.

- Jamie Hayter beat Asuka by DQ in 14:01 after Kairi Sane jumped into the ring as Hayter was about to hit Hayterade and attacked the challenger. | 78

- After the match Asuka and Kairi attacked Hayter but she fought them off and made a comeback and the heels bailed leaving her standing in the ring for the crowd to cheer and the announcers to talk a bit about her background. | 70

- A vignette aired to introduce Dragon Lee, who will be a part of the Talent Injection Draft next week. | 55

- Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, New Day, are backstage with Kayla Braxton. Kayla mentions that they're here on the European tour despite being Raw superstars. She mentions that they seem to be in a very good mood and asks them what they want to talk about. Kofi says that big things are happening for the New Day. Xavier says that they wouldn't miss the European tour for anything but they're even more excited for what they have in store for everyone next week -- when they'll make a big announcement! | 61

- European Title Tournament -- 1st Round: Sheamus defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr by pinfall in 7:35 following the Brogue Kick. | 70

- After the match we get a quick recap of previous European Title tournament matches that took place on the live event last night in Scotland. Drew McIntyre defeated Ridge Holland and JD McDonagh beat A-Kid. | 51

- Another Talent Injection Draft introduction video, this time for DIJAK. | 60

- WWE Universal Tag Team Champions the Revival are backstage with Jim Cornette. They're discussing something when Kayla Braxton approaches and asks them about the Von Erichs, who were attacked by the Viking Raiders last week and are not medically cleared to compete tonight. Jim Cornette is about to respond but Dax asks if he can speak instead and Jim obliges. Dax says that normally they'd consider this a gift and laugh at the unfortunate luck of their opponents and withdraw their offer for a match. Dax says Cornette suggested they do that. But Dax and Dash respect the Von Erich family too much for that. Dax says they will wait for the Von Erichs to be medically cleared and then give them their match. | 64

- Samoa Joe comes to the ring. He talks about how he had Gunther beaten at SummerSlam and how he's got nothing to show for it. Joe said that he's not one to cry and complain he'd rather put his head down, work hard, and earn another shot. In this case, he says, he'll be honest and say that if Gunther was any kind of champion he'd be willing to give Joe another title match. But he doesn't expect Gunther to have any honor so he'll just fight his way back to being #1 contender. It's then that Joe is interrupted by EC3 and his manager Robert Stone. Robert Stone tells Joe that since his debut on SmackDown, EC3 has not lost a singles bout. If anyone deserves a shot at Gunther -- it's E-C-3. Joe laughs and invites EC3 to get in the ring and prove himself. | 68

- Samoa Joe beats EC3 in 10:40 by DQ when Robert Stone interfered. | 61

- A Talent Injection Draft intro video for Elektra Lopez. | 49

- A Jay White pre-tape promo. White says that being the champion is great because it affords him some opportunities others don't have. In this instance, he's refused to fly to England because he hates the country and it's people. So instead he's relaxing by his pool in Florida and recording this. He says that next week there will be a Fatal 4-Way match to determine who will face Jay White at Clash of the Champions. He says the four men: Santos Escobar, Bobby Lashley, Kota Ibushi, and Shinsuke Nakamura are all worthy opponents. But they're also not good enough to beat Jay. So it's kind of meaningless to have these guys wrestle just to lose to Jay. But that's what is going to happen. Status quo, same old same old, s.s.d.d. (same shit different day). White references Paul Heyman and says that Jay White winning at Clash isn't just a prediction...it's a spoiler. | 67

- European Title Tournament -- 1st Round: Ludwig Kaiser defeated Giovanni Vinci by pinfall at 11:02. These two shook hands before the match and after Kaiser won with a small package they shook hands again. This was a really good match with little heat due to both men being heels. | 55

- Pat McAfee Show featuring Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Zayn and Owens argue the result of SummerSlam match. Owens says that he knew heading into the match that Zayn was going to screw him and he knew he should have done something about it before hand. Zayn calls Owens an idiot and says that Zayn doesn't like Jay White either. Zayn says that he would've been happy to screw either guy over, but he took an almost perverse pleasure in knowing Zayn's belt wasn't going to be around Owens' fat waist. Owens told Zayn that they've been doing this forever and that they fight like brothers because they're as close as brothers. Owens says he wants to beat Sami's ass but then after he does, he feels like they'll go back to being friends. So why not speed up the process and have their match next week? Zayn agrees and offers Owens a handshake. Owens shakes it and Zayn tries to kick Owens in the dick but Owens catches Zayn's foot, spins him around and then kicks him and hits the Stunner. Owens tells Pat that next week's match isn't going to be pretty. It's going to be two brothers fighting and then hopefully getting all of their anger out and moving on. He wants to be able to hug Sami after the match next week, win or lose. Pat seems confused by Kevin's statement but says he respects Kevin for being upfront about that. The segment ends with Owens standing on the turnbuckles and posing for the crowd. | 75

- One final Talent Injection Draft intro video. This one makes it clear that WWE has big plans for Wes Lee. | 60

- MAIN EVENT: WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther defeated Nick Aldis by pinfall at 22:19 to retain the title. This was a really good main event match. Aldis hit a superplex but was too beat up to immediately cover Gunther. Aldis crawled over to Gunther and covered him for a two count. Aldis used the ropes to pick himself up and Gunther got up but was selling his back. Aldis charged but Gunther threw a headbutt at Aldis and Aldis sold it well. As Aldis held his head and looked dazed, Gunther hit a short-arm clothesline but held Aldis up. He kicked him in the stomach and then powerbombed him for the pinfall. | 80

- First up is an "Earlier Today" video Charlotte and Tessa were being interviewed at the WWE tv studio when Becky Lynch burst in and tried to fight them. Brian Pillman Jr was there and tried to grab Becky but she punched him out. She was escorted from the premises. She arrives to the arena late and Tegan meets her in the parking lot. Becky goes to the ring to cut a promo. She calls out Mick Foley and asks him to let Becky and Tegan have a rematch for the titles at Clash and Foley says he and William Regal have already agreed that the title match at CotC will be a 4-team match with two teams from Raw and two teams from SD and Becky says that what Foley is telling her is that she has two other teams she needs to eliminate before Clash of the Champions. Foley asks her not to do that but she says she doesn't think she has a choice. She won't stop until she gets revenge on Charlotte. So if Mick wants to protect his title match he'll help her out. Mick says he'll think about it. Bayley interrupts and calls Becky out for being a bad influence on the younger generation. Becky says that she's teaching them how to fight for what you want and if Bayley has a problem with it she should step up and try to stop her. - Finn Balor defeated Pete Dunne by pinfall with the Coup de Grace in a European Championship Tournament First Round Match. (12:41) | 81

- A backstage brawl between the Viking Raiders and Street Profits is joined in progress. Erik slams Ford through a door to the heel locker room. Dawkins and Ford fight back to even things up before security breaks up the fight. | 67

- Bianca Belair and Valhalla also took part in the brawl and we see them get pulled apart as well. | 61

- Karrion Kross squashed R-Truth in 5:00. | 67

- After the match, Kross is in the ring celebrating with Scarlett when the lights go out. An hourglass appears on the big screen. It turns over and the sand begins to fall. Kross and Scarlett look around the arena and then the words "See you soon. XOXO - Randy" appear on the screen. | 66

- A video introducing viewers to Pretty Deadly is shown. Pretty Deadly are a part of the pool of wrestlers available in this week's Talent Injection Draft. | 44

- At the announce table Corey Graves goes over the European Title Tournament First Round matches that took place at recent live events: Ilja Dragunov defeated Joe Coffey and Sheamus pinned Mark Coffey. | 42

- Bronson Reed defeated Tyler Bate by pinfall in 12:24 after a second rope splash. Reed advances in the European Title Tournament and will face Drew McIntyre in the 2nd round. | 67

- Backstage Damian Priest is trying to convince Dominik Mysterio to use his Call Your Shot opportunity to benefit all of Judgment Day. But Dom says he isn't going to change his mind, he's going to go with his original idea. Damian asks if Dom will let him know what that idea is but Dom says no. Rhea Ripley defends Dom and tells Damian to back off. Damian isn't happy and walks off. Balor and McDonagh enter the picture after Damian walks off and asks what's wrong but Rhea and Dom don't answer. | 79

- Seth Freakin' Rollins comes out to the ring and cuts a promo. In this promo he asks for the fans to forgive him for the transgression of being so blinded by the ability to hold another championship that he was willing to team with Logan Paul. Rollins calls Paul a snake. Seth says that while they were holding the belts he was blinded to how big of an asshole Logan Paul is. Seth is suddenly interrupted by MVP. MVP comes onto the stage and tells Seth to shut up. He says that his client, Omos, is tired of being overlooked. Seth was given tv time to come out here and bellyache about getting fooled like a dumbass while the dominant giant Omos is backstage begging for opportunities! Seth interrupts MVP to tell him to have Omos come down to the ring so they can have a match. | 69

- Seth Freakin' Rollins defeated Omos by DQ at 7:31 after Logan Paul interfered. | 66

- After the match Omos and MVP hold Seth up while Logan Paul nails him with brass knuckles again. Paul then takes a wad of cash out of his pocket and hands it to MVP as payment for helping him. | 64

- Liv Morgan interview -- she says Rhea isn't taking her seriously and that plays to her advantage at CotC. | 65

- Mercedes Martinez is in the draft pool for the Talent Injection Draft a video airs to introduce her to the audience. | 58

- Becky Lynch beat Bayley by pinfall following the Manhandle Slam in 24:36. | 74

- After the match, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai jump in the ring and attack Becky. Becky tries to fight them off but Bayley clips Becky in the knee and they heels dogpile on her until Tegan Nox runs down to the ring with a chair and cleans house, sending Damage CTRL packing. Tegan checks on her tag partner as the segment ends. | 75

- An Alba Fyre introduction vignette airs. | 49

- LA Knight cuts a promo backstage on Robert Roode. Roode interrupts and challenges him to another match next week and dares Knight not to be a coward and take a DQ this time. | 87

- Cathy Kelley is standing by with Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green. They are extremely elated about something so Cathy asks them what's going on. Cardona says they're excited because two of their best friends in the whole world just signed with WWE. Chelsea says it would be a dream come true for the four of them to be reunited and in the same locker room. Cathy calls them out and asks them to name this person but neither Cardona nor Green are willing to divulge anything. | 72

- Edge is out next. Edge introduces fan recorded footage from social media of Lesnar attacking him in parking lot before SD last week. Says he will be at SmackDown this week to finally issue the challenge he was going to issue last week and if Brock shows up WWE cameras better be there to get footage of Edge kicking Brock's ass this time. Edge says that he knows Lesnar is going to keep doing this hit and run crap like he did with Daniel Cormier so Edge is going to go about his business and wait until Brock comes back. But one of these days Edge is going to get his hands on Brock.| 91

- WWE World Heavyweigtht Champion Cody Rhodes comes down to the ring to do commentary for the main event. | 74

- Main Event: AJ Styles defeated Ilja Dragunov by pinfall in 25:42. This was a great match. Lots of creative spots, mostly crisp moves, and a great story. Once again Ilja played the role of a guy who can take a ton of punishment and keep fighting. AJ hit a superplex, a top rope bulldog and a flying elbow and Ilja still kicked out. Ilja nearly got a win with a charging knee followed by a package piledriver. AJ got to his feet and Ilja went for Torpedo Moscow but AJ threw himself to the mat to avoid it. Ilja hit the mat and rolled out to the floor. AJ dove to the floor and threw Ilja into the steps. AJ walked past the commentary table and stared at Cody. Ilja hit a suicide dive and rolled AJ back into the ring. Ilja hit a t-bone suplex and a lariat that turned AJ inside out. Ilja went to the top turnbuckle and leapt off for a double foot stomp but AJ moved. Ilja rolled forward and popped up and AJ was on the apron. Ilja charged and AJ hit the Phenomenal Forearm and then picked Ilja up and hit the Styles Clash for the pinfall. | 87

- After the match ended Cody Rhodes stood up and gave the two men a standing ovation and said on commentary that he was really impressed with both guys and is excited to know that he has that kind of competition waiting to challenge him. AJ stared at Cody and pointed at him as the show went off the air. | 73

She asks Breakker about getting drafted to SmackDown and before he can talk, he's interrupted by a returning Baron Corbin. Corbin says Breakker is only here because of who his dad and uncle are and that he's not as talented as everyone is saying. He tells Bron that he's supposed to take on some loser in a match in a few minutes but would rather fight Breakker. Corbin then challenges Breakker to a match and Bron accepts. | 60

- Backstage, Intercontinental Champion Gunther speaks with SmackDown GM William Regal and asks him who his opponent will be at Clash of the Champions. - Carmelo Hayes cuts a promo backstage. He introduces himself to the fans at home and talks about how great he is and how he plans to make a name for himself rather quickly. He says that he has his first match scheduled for next week against Johnny Gargano. Hayes tells Gargano that he's looking forward to competing with him and that he respects him, but he's going to use Gargano as a stepping stone to bigger things. | 62

- Jamie Hayter & Mickie James beat WWE Universal Women's Champion Asuka & Kairi Sane in 11:39 when Hayter pinned Kairi after Hayter ducked Asuka's attempted misting and Kairi was blinded by mistake. | 69

- SmackDown Assistant GM Jinny comes out onto the entrance way and announces that Jamie Hayter has earned a title shot and will face Asuka for the Universal Women's Championship at Clash of the Champions. | 65

- Bobby Lashley won a Fatal 4-Way over Santos Escobar, Kota Ibushi & Shinsuke Nakamura to become the #1 contender to the WWE Universal Championship after pinning Escobar in 12:39. | 76

- Backstage, Roman tells the Guerillas that he wants them to go after the tag team titles and tells Ona Leaga that it's time that he brought some championship gold to the Bloodline as well. Jimmy, Solo, and Trinity are there but they're not happy. Roman tells them to suck it up and smile because otherwise Jey's suffering was for nothing. Roman says that if the rumors are true and Jey never wrestles again, he will have at least lost his career for the betterment of the family -- the name Bloodline includes the word blood for a reason. Because they're all part of the same family and Jey sacrificed himself by agreeing to that match at SummerSlam and his loss had to happen to repair the foundation of the Bloodline. And now, Roman says, they're stronger than ever. He forces Jimmy, Solo, and Trinity to acknowledge him. | 86

- Next up is a backstage promo from Fourever. Charlotte Flair, Tessa Blanchard, and Brian Pillman Jr. talk about how they're the future of WWE. Charlotte says she's always had this group as an idea floating in her head. When Tessa showed up on Raw she knew Tessa would be the perfect person to help bring the idea to life. And then she was down in Florida training at the Performance Center and saw Brian Pillman Jr working out and knew he was the perfect choice for the 3rd member. Charlotte calls Pillman the catalyst for everything Fourever is going to do going forward. Tessa taunts Becky Lynch and shows off the tag titles as she does. And then finally Pillman thanks Charlotte for seeing something in him and offering him a role in this group. Pillman says that he can't wait to get in the ring and make his official debut. Charlotte and Tessa then finish the promo by telling Becky that she's not going to win the belts at Clash of the Champions. Charlotte says the belts aren't going anywhere and Pillman says he's going to make sure of it. | 62

- Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are out in the ring next. They dance around and are in an extremely good mood. Kofi says that they have a huge announcement tonight. Xavier chimes in that he wouldn't say it's huge. He says the better way to describe it is...BIG. The crowd catches on and starts to get excited as Woods and Kofi look to the entrance way. Suddenly Big E's voice comes booming out of the PA as he does his usual New Day introduction to a huge ovation. Big E comes to the ring and gets a standing ovation and a "Welcome Back!" chant. Big E, with tears in his eyes, thanks the fans for their support during his recovery and rehab. He says that he is officially cleared to return to the ring and has been working to get in shape to be able to do that. Big E says he still needs a little more time and asks for the fans to be patient with him. At this point Big E's mic cuts out. He looks to the production team for and asks for another mic as the lights begin flickering and then finally go out completely. When the lights come back on, former AEW wrestler the Butcher is standing in the ring alongside the former Authors Of Pain. They're seemingly being lead by Rev. James Mitchell who is standing at ringside. The trio attacks New Day. Akam and Rezar lay out Kofi and Xavier. Big E tries to fight the Butcher but both members of AOP attack Big E too. In a disgusting act, Butcher hits a piledriver on Big E's surgically repaired neck. Big E sells his neck as referees rush into the ring and force the heels to leave. Medical staff come out to check on the New Day. Kofi and Woods get to their feet and immediately check on Big E. We get the Shawn Michaels concussion angle camera work and announcer silence as the show goes to commercial. | 58

- After the commercial we get a quick recap of what happened in the previous segment and then the announcers pitch to a video hyping one of SmackDown's Talent Injection Draft picks -- Mercedes Martinez. | 52

- After the video Kayla Braxton catches up with James Mitchell backstage. He introduces himself as "The Reverend, Samael" and tries to kiss Kayla's hand but she pulls it away. He introduces his still unnamed group -- the Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar and Da Butcher (his pronunciation). He says this is just the beginning. Samael says that he's here to ensure disorder and chaos reign supreme in WWE. He says he has assembled a menagerie of villains who are going to do his bidding. He thanks Kayla for her time and then he his crew walk off as Samael laughs maniacally. | 50

- MAIN EVENT: Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall in a street fight in 12:47 after hitting a Stunner from the second turnbuckle as Sami sat on the top turnbuckle. | 81

- After the match is over Owens is celebrating when Sami Zayn gets to his feet behind him. Zayn spins Owens around and after a brief staredown they hug but Zayn kicks Owens in the nuts and then drops him with a brainbuster. Zayn assaults Owens with a chair and tells him that they're not brothers, they're not friends, they're sworn enemies and Zayn will not rest until KO is permanently gone from WWE. | 72
