RAW: Sure, HHH vs. Orton at Backlash sounds great. I laughed at Hunter's claims that Orton couldn't do anything by himself when a lot of HHH's Evolution matches were won thanks to Orton and Batista's interference. I sincerely doubt most people would cheer for Maven if he came back in 2008. I don't know how useful can he be, really, but every roster needs jobbers? And Umaga vs. Maven could be cool... Melina is a plausible contender for Mickie's gold. The Women's division was Phoenix, Mickie and Melina after all... Great little ending for RAW as DX reunites to go toe-to-toe with Legacy. Hopefully they don't really kill all their buzz like they did IRL, but I'm ok with a competitive feud.
ECW: So... ECW is ending, BUT Foley says there's only some truth to that. I wonder what are your plans exactly, but I'm sure it will be way better than Ezekiel Jackson being the final champion. I was kind of expecting CM Punk to address ECW's death, as he was the hardcore one of the new wave. There you go, ruined a segment of your next ECW episode. OMG I know what's happening. Gallows joins Dreamer and Chavo's title match and wins it being the final ECW champion. Ew. Really, I was not expecting Gallows to turn on Chavo.
SD!: Uh-oh! Batista vs. Undertaker is a huge match for SmackDown! and being a #1 Contendership, I think you may keep it clean. Either one vs. Jericho would be relatively fresh in 2008 and Undertaker vs. Jericho had never happened before (it never happened on PPV, btw), so my guess is Taker may win? "Vickie-leaks": easy and smart pun. 10/10. Nice story told between Jericho and MVP and great post-match angle with Rey Rey. I think I didn't expect anyone spoiling the Flair farewell, but I'm very surprised not to see Shawn Michaels.
I think RAW gets the win this week.

RAWApril 7, 2008 Albany, NY LEGACY RUINS THE MOMENT (89%) RAW begins in the capital of New York with Triple H making his way out. Hunter thanks Shawn Michaels for having his back and wants to call him out to acknowledge him for the legendary match they had at WrestleMania. HBK comes out as the two have nice words to say to each other until Legacy ruins the moment. Randy Orton says he's going to puke if he hears another second of this as the rest of Legacy mimic throwing up in the background. Orton says he's tired of Triple H running around here and thinking he's the greatest. Orton says he will prove to him at Backlash that he will go down as the best to ever do this. Triple H barks back and HBK chimes in which causes Cody Rhodes to interrupt. Rhodes then gets bold and challenges Michaels to a match at Backlash. Triple H and HBK both kind of chuckle in surprise and Michaels says he accepts. Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig then get in on the action and challenge both men to a tag team match later tonight. Obviously, that is also accepted and Hunter and Shawn say they look forward to whooping ass tonight.
MCINTYRE IC TITLE OPEN CHALLENGE PART DEUX (83%) For the second straight week, Drew McIntyre came out and decided to hold an open challenge for his Intercontinental Championship. William Regal's music then hit and everyone, including Drew, looked shocked until Regal appeared in his suit. Regal got into the ring and told Drew that he had to give him some advice to not do these open challenges. McIntyre argued with his mentor and asked why not and implied Regal thinks he's not good enough. This caused a little tension but Regal explained that Drew is putting himself at a disadvantage by not knowing his opponent, and even if he's better than him, it's just not smart. McIntyre tells Regal that he has it and calls for an opponent. The music of Shelton Benjamin hits and this is a surprise. The former IC Champ answers the challenge, flanked by his tag team partner, Charlie Haas.
MATCH 1: DREW MCINTYRE © w/WILLIAM REGAL vs. SHELTON BENJAMIN w/CHARLIE HAAS – INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP (70%, 2*) The open challenge kicked off and the match was very competitive. William Regal winced at every near fall that Shelton Benjamin got, while Charlie Haas hit the mat to encourage his tag team partner. Drew McIntyre got control in the later stages of the match and attempted his 'Claymore' but Shelton moved and Drew fell on his back. McIntyre used the corner to get to his feet but Benjamin hit a 'Stinger Splash' in the corner. Regal, sensing the match slipping away tried to get involved but Haas pulled him off the apron. Regal put his hands up to signal that he surrendered but when Haas turned his back, Regal pushed him face-first into the steel ring post. Shelton had McIntyre in position for a T-Bone Suplex but seeing his partner get attacked caused enough distraction for McIntyre to counter into a 'Future Shock DDT' to get the win and retain his IC Title. WINNER: DREW MCINTYRE VIA PINFALL IN 10:15
WELCOME BACK MAVEN (63%) Todd Grisham is shown backstage and is with RAW's newest superstar, Maven. Maven returned to the WWE last week after a 3-year hiatus and Grisham asked how it felt. Maven said he was excited to hear the fans again but was soon rudely interrupted by Armando Alejandro Estrada. Estrada. Estrada tries to get the mic but Maven hurls a barb at Estrada by sarcastically saying he used to be the RAW GM. Maven laughed and even Grisham sneaked a chuckle before the games were over and 'The Samoan Bulldozer' attacked Maven. Estrada yelled at Maven to not disrespect him and had Umaga beat him down. Umaga would chuck Maven into a group of crates before placing him on top of one with his upper half hanging off. Umaga then got on another crate and ran across to hit a running diving headbutt, knocking Maven off the crate and folding him in half. Backstage staff and road agents then appeared to corral Umaga before he could inflict any more damage.
MATCH 2: MELINA vs. MARIA (63%, 1*) The ladies had the second match of the night as Melina would take on Maria. Women's Champion, Mickie James, was at ringside for this match and it was announced that she would defend the title at Backlash against Melina. Melina was in control for the majority of the match, often punishing Maria while looking towards Mickie. Melina focused a little too much at one point and allowed Maria to get in a flurry of offense. Maria hit a bulldog and almost got a 3-count but Melina just kicked out. Melina eventually countered Maria and finished her off with the 'Sunset Split' to get the win. Melina, still in a split position, stared at Mickie and signaled she was going to take the title off her at Backlash. WINNER: MELINA VIA PINFALL IN 5:42
A NEW START (75%) Todd Grisham was backstage again, this time with Mr. Kennedy. Grisham starts the convo by mentioning Kennedy's failure to win Money In The Bank, and this ticked off the loudmouth. Grisham lets us know Kennedy is facing Booker T next and Kennedy steals the mic away. Kennedy looks into the camera and vows that a turnaround is going to start now. The camera follows Kennedy as he walks through 'Gorilla' position and heads out for his match.
MATCH 3: MR. KENNEDY vs. BOOKER T w/SHARMELL (76%, 1.5*) Unfortunately for Mr. Kennedy, Booker T had other ideas for his “turnaround.” This was a highly competitive match where Kennedy actually had the advantage for longer than Booker. The match flipped towards the end when Kennedy was maybe a tad bit overzealous and tried to hit his signature 'Green Bay Plunge' from the middle rope. Booker elbowed Kennedy in the head and then was able to find his footing on the top rope. After knocking Kennedy off, Booker hit a 'Houston Hangover,' did a 'Spinaroonie,' and then dropped Kennedy with the 'Book End' to pick up the win. WINNER: BOOKER T VIA PINFALL IN 9:52
NOT THE BEST START (70%) Well that didn't go the way Mr. Kennedy envisioned and he reacted the way you would imagine by attacking Booker T as he had his hand raised. Kennedy hit a 'Mic Check' on Booker and then went out to grab a steel chair but Sharmell tried to stop it from happening. Kennedy threatened to swing the chair at Sharmell and it caused her to flee. Kennedy got back in the ring and hit Booker with the steel chair a few times before backstage staff and road agents put a stop to it.
MATCH 4: JEFF HARDY vs. SANTINO MARELLA (71%, 2*) Jeff Hardy took on Santino Marella in the penultimate match of the night. Santino was more focused than normal and took the fight to Hardy. Hardy missed a high-risk move early on and it allowed Santino to control the action for a bit. Santino displayed some of his impressive MMA background with some strikes and submissions. The turning point came when Santino whipped Hardy into the corner. Hardy countered by scaling the turnbuckles and hitting 'Whisper In The Wind.' After missing a clothesline, Santino then got hit with a 'Twist of Fate.' Hardy went to the top and put away Santino with a 'Swanton Bomb.' WINNER: JEFF HARDY VIA PINFALL IN 8:09
UPDATE ON JOHN CENA (90%) Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler gave an update on the former WWE Champion, John Cena. A replay of Cena being punted at WrestleMania XXIV was shown and JR and King talked about Cena's injury. Cena suffered a concussion and while it is not known how long his recovery will be, JR knows Cena will do everything he can to get back as soon as possible.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: TRIPLE H & SHAWN MICHAELS vs. LEGACY [TED DIBIASE JR. & JOE HENNIG] (80%, 3*) The Main Event was next and Triple H and Shawn Michaels entered first. Legacy's music hit and all four men came out on the stage. Then something unexpected happened. Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes went to the back and told Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig to get the job done themselves. The young upstarts held their own in the match, even isolating HBK for a few minutes. However, the experience HHH and HBK have both in general and as a team, was too much for Legacy to overcome. HBK hit 'Sweet Chin Music' to DiBiase Jr. right into a 'Pedigree' to get the win. WINNERS: TRIPLE H & SHAWN MICHAELS VIA PINFALL IN 11:26
LEGACY HAS LAST LAUGH (86%) Joe Hennig pulled his cohort out of the ring and Triple H and HBK celebrated the win as Legacy retreated up the ramp. Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes then met Hennig and DiBiase Jr. halfway and Orton barked at them. Orton instructed them to go back to the ring and get seconds. Hunter and Shawn were waiting and when the duo slid back into the ring, Triple H and HBK were getting the best of them. However, it was a perfectly set trap as Orton and Rhodes entered the ring and turned the numbers in their favor. The 4-on-2 beating resulted in Orton hitting an 'RKO' on both HHH and HBK. Before doing any more damage, like another punt, Orton told the rest of Legacy to stop. It appears Legacy wants to finish the job at Backlash as RAW fades to black.
FINAL RAW RATING (81%, 2.97 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- ECWApril 8, 2008 Boston, MA WHAT'S NEXT? (86%) The show starts off with the music of General Manager, Mick Foley. Foley walks down to the ring and doesn't look too thrilled. Foley starts off by apologizing to the audience, then to the boys in the back, and even Joey Styles and Tazz. Foley says he did all he could to save ECW but that decision ended up being above him. Foley announces that the ECW brand will come to an end. Foley is almost in tears as he announces the final weekly episode of ECW will be on May 20th, the Tuesday before One Night Stand. Foley then said that at the 2008 WWE Draft, all ECW Superstars would migrate to RAW or Smackdown! Foley finishes by saying he's going to make the most of these final few weeks, and that starts with a Hardcore Championship Match to Main Event tonight's show between The Miz and The Sandman.
DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS (81%) A video promo plays showing Luke Gallows. Gallows is voicing over the video, which is showing him attacking Chavo Guerrero after weeks of being verbally abused. Gallows says he's “nobody's b***h,” and that Chavo bit the hand that was feeding him. Gallows says he's done doing dirty work for anyone other than himself.
PUNK TALKS TO FOLEY (87%) CM Punk walks into Mick Foley's office and wants to talk about the devastating news. Punk is in denial and asks Foley that there has to be another way. Foley explains that his hands are tied and that the higher-ups want to clean up the WWE. Punk continues to offer suggestions as the action goes to Joey Styles and Tazz. The two offer their words on the situation and say that like Foley, they are going to make the best of these final weeks.
MATCH 1: KOFI KINGSTON vs. CHRIS MASTERS (61%, 1*) The blow-off match between Kofi Kingston and Chris Masters was next. Kofi started the match off with a flurry but Masters eventually hit a 'Polish Hammer' to stop Kofi's momentum. Masters applied some rest holds and dropped Kingston with a 'Gorilla Press Slam.' Masters went for a 'Masterlock' but Kofi almost countered into the same pin that got him the win in their first encounter. Masters was ready for it and dropped to his knees for his own unorthodox pin but Kofi kicked out. Masters lifted Kofi for a delayed vertical suplex but Kofi kicked his legs and ended up landing behind Masters. Kofi hit a dropkick and then went off the ropes before doing this eccentric gyration with his shoulders and hitting a jumping double-leg drop. Kofi got massive air and then lined up in the corner. Kofi clapped his hands together and went for 'Trouble In Paradise' but Masters caught him and locked in the 'Masterlock.' Kofi struggled for a few seconds but then ran into the corner, forcing a minor disengagement, which caused Masters to smash his chest off the turnbuckle. Masters recovered in the corner but turned around into a 'Trouble In Paradise.' Kingston made the cover and got the big win. WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON VIA PINFALL IN 10:12
DREAMER'S DECLARATION (83%) ECW Champion, Tommy Dreamer, came out when ECW returned and gave a very passionate speech about what the letters E! C! W! mean to him. Dreamer started tearing up and said, “All good things must come to an end.” He said he was blessed to be a part of this reincarnated version of ECW and got to win an ECW Title Match at WrestleMania. Dreamer said in his wildest dreams, he never envisioned this. Dreamer then says that there is “no way on God's green Earth” that he will let Chavo Guerrero go down in history as the final champion.
JOEY STYLES & TAZZ WEIGH-IN (80%) Joey Styles and Tazz reiterate Dreamer's remarks and appear very emotional as well. A graphic then pops up showing the ECW Title rematch scheduled for Backlash, as Chavo Guerrero has invoked his rematch clause.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 2: THE MIZ © vs. THE SANDMAN – HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP (68%, 2*) The Hardcore Championship Main Event was next and The Miz had his hands full with The Sandman. It was almost as if Sandman was re-awakened by the news that ECW was coming to an end. Sandman was extra violent tonight, low-blowing Miz with his Singapore Cane, placing a trash can over Miz and using his cane as a baseball bat, and hitting a leg drop with a chair under him. Miz was a fighting champion though and got some licks in, including throwing Sandman head-first into a chair wedged in the corner. Miz tried to hit a full nelson facebuster that he calls the 'Skull-Crushing Finale' but Sandman countered into his signature White Russian Legsweep. Sandman then placed a chair on top of Miz and went to the top rope to hit his 'Rolling Rock.' Sandman made the cover and won the become the new champ. ECW goes off the air with Sandman having a beer bash in the ring. WINNER: THE SANDMAN VIA PINFALL IN 9:46 ***NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION***
FINAL ECW RATING (79%, 1.89 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- Smackdown!April 11, 2008 Boston, MA BENT OUT OF SHAPE (85%) Smackdown! begins with “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge hitting and Edge, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder making their way out. “Undertaker” chants begin and Edge and The Rated-R Entourage are trying to ignore them but it's clear that Edge is clearly affected by it. Edge seems unhinged as he barks back at the audience and complains about tonight's #1 Contender Match between The Undertaker and Batista. Edge says he's not leaving the ring until he gets added to the match and Smackdown! GM Teddy Long comes out shortly after. Long denies Edge's request and puts him in a match against Matt Hardy later tonight. Hawkins & Ryder get on the mic to defend their leader but Teddy cuts them off and decides to put them in a WWE Tag Team Title Match...RIGHT NOW! The music of The Hart Dynasty hits and The Rated-R Entourage will be defending their titles next. Long also bans Edge from ringside, causing the trio to flip out as Smackdown! cuts to a commercial break.
MATCH 1: THE RATED-R ENTOURAGE [ZACK RYDER & CURT HAWKINS] © vs. THE HART DYNASTY [DH SMITH & TJ WILSON] w/NATALYA NEIDHART – WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (66%, 1.5*) The match was in progress upon returning from the break and a picture-in-picture replay showed how The Rated-R Entourage assumed the advantage in the match during the commercial. Hawkins & Ryder kept TJ Wilson isolated for the majority of the match until TJ countered with an enziguri and made the hot tag to DH Smith. The son of The British Bulldog came into the ring on fire and knocked both Hawkins & Ryder down. Smith then worked on Hawkins, who was the legal man, while Wilson hit a vaulting body press to Ryder on the outside. Smith would hit a running powerslam, tag Wilson, and TJ would hit a springboard elbow drop before making the cover to get the 3-count! We have new Tag Team Champs! Natalya Neidhart enters the ring with the titles and gives it to her boys as the trio celebrate in the ring. WINNERS: THE HART DYNASTY VIA PINFALL IN 11:19 ***NEW WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS***
JUST A BUMP IN THE ROAD (81%) A pre-taped promo plays next of Mark Henry. Henry is voicing over and puts over his 'Hall of Pain' as clips show the destruction 'The World's Strongest Man' can do. Henry says that he suffered a setback at WrestleMania, losing his United States Championship, but made it known that he was never pinned. Henry tells Big Show that he's going to get his rematch and take back what is rightfully his.
FEELING ROBBED (84%) Back live and MVP and Kristal barge into Smackdown! GM, Teddy Long's office. Teddy begrudgingly asks how he can help MVP and MVP starts complaining about Rey Mysterio. MVP says he was moments away from cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase and becoming World Heavyweight Champion when Mysterio ruined that last week. Long shrugs and says “So...what do you want me to do about it?” MVP says he wants to fight Mysterio at Backlash and Long grants it, adding another match to the card.
MATCH 2: ASHLEY MASSARO vs. LAYLA w/BROOKE (60%, *1) Divas action was next as Ashley Massaro took on Layla in a singles contest. Brooke offered her support at ringside and obviously tried to get involved. Layla was able to use Brooke to get on top in the match for a while and impressed, hitting Ashley with a nice spinning roundhouse kick to the head. Layla went for her finisher, 'The Layout' neckbreaker but Ashley countered into a backslide pin for a near-fall. After quickly getting up, Layla charged at Ashley but was hit with a Monkey Flip. Ashley went to the top rope to hit her 'Starstruck' elbow drop but Brooke got on the apron. Ashley was able to kick Brooke off of the apron and to the floor but it allowed Layla to stop her elbow drop attempt. Layla climbed the turnbuckle and went for a superplex but Ashley countered with a sunset flip powerbomb to get the win. WINNER: ASHLEY MASSARO VIA PINFALL IN 5:48
BATISTA BACKSTAGE (83%) Josh Mathews was then shown backstage as he welcomed in 'The Animal' Batista. Mathews talked about what an emotional couple of weeks it has been for Batista and asked if he's focused on tonight's match against The Undertaker. Batista says “You bet your ass I'm ready!” 'The Animal' continues and says that he and 'The Deadman' put on some classic matches last year and that he's ready to go toe-to-toe with him again. Batista says it's been over a year now and it's time for him to get back on top of the mountain as World Heavyweight Champion.
MATCH 3: EDGE vs. MATT HARDY (82%, 2*) 'The Rated-'R' Superstar' rekindled his rivalry with Matt Hardy in the next contest. Hardy was giving Edge fits throughout the match and Edge really looked off his game, mentally. After his signature middle-rope diving leg drop, Hardy was setting up for a 'Twist of Fate.' Matt booted Edge in the gut and grabbed Edge's head but Edge scurried away and went to the outside. Hardy followed him but Edge was able to grab a steel chair and smash Hardy over the head with it, leading to a disqualification. Edge then went nuts and started hitting Matt with repeated chair shots to the back. Backstage staff and road agents came out to prevent any further damage, like a 'Con-Chair-To,' but Hardy was left in a heap on the floor as Edge had a crazed look while being escorted to the back. WINNER: MATT HARDY VIA INTENTIONAL DQ IN 9:30
Y2J THANKS MYSTERIO (85%) The camera cuts to a shot backstage where Rey Mysterio is watching the action unfold on a TV. World Heavyweight Champ, Chris Jericho, then walks into the shot and thanks Rey for helping him avoid a cash-in last week at the hands of MVP. Mysterio says it's no problem but then gets Y2J's opinion on who he's hoping to win the Main Event. Jericho confidently says he's got it covered either way.
REMATCH ACCEPTED (83%) Josh Mathews is back again and this time he is with United States Champion, The Big Show. Mathews asks Show about Mark Henry's promo from earlier tonight and Show says that Henry said he's miffed because I didn't pin him. Show chuckles and says it was Triple Threat rules so Henry should be better. Show then says if Henry “really wants me to show that I can pin him too, then I'm all for it.” So Big Show vs Henry at Backlash, Show says “You're on!”
THE MAIN EVENT IS NEXT! (90%) “I Walk Alone” by Saliva hits and 'The Animal' Batista, makes his entrance before Smackdown! cuts to commercial. Upon returning, the gong tolls, and The Undertaker makes his legendary entrance. Undertaker lifts his arms to turn the lights on and removes his hat, staring at Batista with his eyes rolled back. This great rivalry from last year is about to begin its next chapter.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 4: BATISTA vs. THE UNDERTAKER – #1 CONTENDER MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (71%, 1.5*) The bell rings and the two stand toe-to-toe as the crowd starts to cheer before any action takes place. Both men are muttering words to each other before they begin the match by trading punches. Over the next 10 minutes, the two big men had a reprise of their earlier matches, each getting in their 'biggest hits.' With the crowd getting into the constant finisher attempts and reversals, Batista and Undertaker had the same idea of a clothesline, resulting in both men hitting the mat. After 15-20 seconds, Batista started to stir and it led to Taker doing his classic sit-up. However, moments later, Kozlov would enter the ring and boot Taker in the face. Batista charged at him and got a 'Battering Ram' headbutt for his troubles. RESULT: NO CONTEST VIA INTERFERENCE IN 13:58
MAKING A STATEMENT (74%) Michael Cole is beside himself as the crowd boos 'The Moscow Mauler,' who has just ruined this match. Cole wonders what this means for the World Heavyweight Championship Match as Kozlov continues his attack. Kozlov would pick up Batista and hit his 'Iron Curtain' spinebuster before turning to Taker and locking him into a Camel Clutch. Kozlov continued to wrench back on Taker and 'The Deadman' was completely out. Only then did Kozlov relinquish his hold and stand over Taker while raising his arms and screaming to a loud chorus of boos.
FINAL SD! RATING (77%, 2.86 MILLION VIEWERS)--------------------(OOC: A couple of title changes to spice things up and a more clear definition for the end of ECW this week. I have a great match planned to end ECW at ONS, I think it's pretty obvious! Moore heck of a call on the Maven/Umaga segment, I had that planned before your comment haha. As for Smackdown, the fans did not like the ending to the Main Event, which I don't blame them for haha. We'll leave who will be challenging Y2J on a cliffhanger for next week!)

That's the moment when CM Punk should do his famous promo and start a rebellion against WWE headquarters for closing ECW and 'giving up on young guys' xD
Great shows.

RAW: Uh, looks like the relationship between Drew and Regal could be ending sooner than I thought. Regal is right (as always), and I can see him be the babyface of an eventual feud between both. Shelton is a great challenger for now and I'm betting him and Haas could be kept in the picture. RIP Maven. It was good to see you back for two weeks. Seriously, how can he get some revenge on Umaga? No way. We have Kennedy with a more aggressive attitude that made him go over after the loss to Booker. That can be good. DX vs. Legacy = PTSD. Not because I saw that much potential in Cody or Ted by 2009, but because DX didn't need to win the feud by THAT margin. Anyway, you booked the match and post-match good. Orton wanting to wait for Backlash is a nice touch.
ECW: Punk standing for ECW is a nice thing and his gimmick in RAW or SmackDown after the draft will probably be the one of a revolted ECW diehard fan/wrestler. Which is ok. Yeah, no one expected The Miz to be the final ECW Hardcore Champion (even if the title was in ECW for some 5 months or so). Well, we're obviously going towards Dreamer vs. Sandman at One Night Stand... or not. But I think so.
SD!: I must admit I didn't expect the impromptu title match and consequent title change. But that's a good thing, tbh. Ah, you can't fool me. I know exactly what you're going to do between MVP and Rey Rey at Backlash. Of course it will be for the MITB briefcase, somehow. MVP wins, tho. Uh! Edge vs. Matt feud revival in 2008... just what we needed. Sadly, the feud winner will be the same and it will probably be very short. Kozlov? Really? Ahah I guess we're heading towards Jericho vs. Batista vs. Taker and Kozlov will definitely pay for his sins... looking coldly, of course you wouldn't have a clean Batista vs. Taker match at SmackDown!

RAWApril 14, 2008 Providence, RI GOING FOR ALL THE GOLD (87%) Monday Night RAW kicks off with Legacy making their way out. Randy Orton's message to the audience was that the faction is going to run RAW for the foreseeable future. Orton says if you thought Evolution was the best faction ever, Legacy is going to surpass it. Cody Rhodes then grabs the mic and says there are other championships to be won on RAW, and the group plans on capturing all the gold. Ted DiBiase Jr. takes his turn next and warns the tag team division that he and Joe Hennig are coming for those tag titles. Hennig shakes his head in approval as Orton closes by warning whoever decides to partner up with Triple H and Shawn Michaels next week. Orton says it will not be wise to get involved in Legacy's business. JR and King confirm that there will be an 8-Man Tag Team Match on next week's RAW.
MATCH 1: MICKIE JAMES & CANDICE MICHELLE vs. MELINA & MARYSE (68%, 1*) The women started off the in-ring action on the night as Women's Champion, Mickie James, teamed with Candice Michelle to take on the team of Melina and Maryse. Melina challenges Mickie for the Women's title at Backlash in a couple of weeks. The girls went at it for about 7 minutes before the match started to break down. Melina and Candice were the legal ladies when Mickie took out Maryse with a 'Mick Kick.' Mickie got on the apron but Melina moved out of the way of a charging Candice, causing her and Mickie to bump into each other. Melina then hit a backslide on Candice and sneakily put her feet on the rope for added leverage during the pin to pick up the win. WINNERS: MELINA & MARYSE VIA PINFALL IN 8:07
SMARTEN UP, SONNY! (75%) The camera shows William Regal taping his wrists as he is schedule to compete next. Drew McIntyre walks into the shot and starts to talk about his Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge. Regal cuts him off before he can get into details and Regal is annoyed with Drew. Regal tells McIntyre that he better “Smarten up, Sonny,” because if he keeps this charade up, he's going to have a short reign. Drew states that he's the youngest IC Champ in history and that's because he's “wise beyond his years.” McIntyre says he knows what he's doing before asking Regal if he needs to come down to ringside with him. Regal finishes taping his wrist and shakes his head no before walking off.
MATCH 2: SHELTON BENJAMIN vs. WILLIAM REGAL (82%, 3*) Shelton Benjamin looked for a measure of revenge against William Regal after distracting him in his Intercontinental Championship Match last week. Charlie Haas, who Regal attacked, was not out with Benjamin, so both men wanted to handle their own business. This was a really technical contest as Regal used his bruising style to slow down the athleticism of Shelton. Regal locked in his 'Regal Stretch' and it looked like he would get the win but Benjamin fought to the bottom rope. Regal then went for a half nelson suplex but Benjamin flipped out and landed on his feet. Shelton went for a kick but Regal caught it, however Benjamin turned it into a 'Dragon Whip' kick. Benjamin then busted out a leaping reverse STO and the new move got the pinfall victory over Regal. WINNER: SHELTON BENJAMIN VIA PINFALL IN 11:29
KENNEDY WANTS ANOTHER CRACK (75%) Todd Grisham is then shown backstage and calls in Mr. Kennedy for a backstage interview. Grisham asks Kennedy about his attack on Booker T last week after losing to him. The losing part sets Kennedy off and he gives Grisham a dirty look before making up excuses saying Booker got lucky. Kennedy states his intention of having another match because he knows he can beat Booker T.
MATCH 3: PAUL LONDON & BRIAN KENDRICK vs. CARLITO & PRIMO (66%, 2*) The World Tag Team Champions, Paul London & Brian Kendrick took on Carlito & Primo in a non-title match in the next contest. Standard 10-minute TV tag match with the heels isolating Kendrick before the tag champs used their exciting offense to gain the advantage. London would take Carlito out on the outside with a dive while Kendrick hit 'Sliced Bread #2' on Primo to pick up the win. WINNERS: LONDON & KENDRICK VIA PINFALL IN 9:35
A COUPLE OF SORE LOSERS (63%) London & Kendrick were celebrating their win and after showing off their belts on the turnbuckle, they both came down to an attack by The Renegades! Lance Cade and Chris Harris were in the ring and Cade struck Kendrick into the corner while Harris turned London inside-out with a clothesline. The duo then worked on Kendrick with London incapacitated and hit a double-team elevated snap swinging neckbreaker (aka Magic Killer). The Renegades lost to the tag champs last week as JR stated and he thought they were sore about that loss, leading to this attack.
WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME (72%) A video replay then showed Maven being attacked last week during his backstage interview by 'The Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga. JR and King narrate over the replay and JR mentions Maven has asked for a match against Umaga and that it's happening next. King wonders about Maven and rhetorically asks JR if he thinks Maven has any brains.
MATCH 4: UMAGA w/ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRADA vs. MAVEN (68%, 0.5*) This one went as expected although Maven did get a little bit of offense in, knocking Umaga out of the ring with his signature dropkick. However, this only angered 'The Samoan Bulldozer' more and Umaga caught Maven rebounding off the ropes with a nasty Samoan Drop. Umaga then dragged Maven into the corner and hit a running hip attack as Armando Estrada hurled insults at a seated Maven. Umaga then finished the match by hitting the 'Samoan Spike' to get the win. WINNER: UMAGA VIA PINFALL IN 4:17
8-MAN TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT NEXT WEEK! (76%) A graphic pops on screen showing the 8-Man Tag Team Match that was talked about earlier tonight. It will be all of Legacy (Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase Jr., and Hennig) vs. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and two partners of their choice. JR and King wonder who will they pick and King reminds JR that Legacy said not to mess with their business so he wonders if anyone will even accept.
MCINTYRE IC TITLE OPEN CHALLENGE PART III (83%) The final segment on RAW included Drew McIntyre's Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge. This is the third time Drew has done this and this time he got more than he bargained for when Bobby Lashley accepted the challenge. McIntyre's expression went from confidence to worry as Lashley's music hit and it looked like he was regretting his decision to offer the open challenge.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: DREW MCINTYRE © vs. BOBBY LASHLEY – INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP (72%, 2*) McIntyre went right after Lashley but after backing him into the corner, Lashley flipped the script and tossed Drew into the corner. After some shoulder thrusts, Lashley dominated the first few minutes of the match until McIntyre hung Bobby's neck over the top rope. McIntyre showed he was no slouch and hit a bridging Northern Lights Suplex, garnering a two-count. Later on, McIntyre went for a 'Claymore' but Lashley moved and Drew took a hard bump on his back. McIntyre got up using the ropes and stood on the apron when Lashley decided to hit a Spear through the ropes and out to the floor! The crowd went nuts as Referee Mike Chioda started counting. Both men started stirring at 7 and Lashley rolled into the ring. McIntyre was about to as well and then intentionally stopped to take a count-out loss. WINNER: BOBBY LASHLEY VIA COUNTOUT IN 10:10
HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!!! (87%) Bobby Lashley is awarded the match but he's not happy as Drew McIntyre retains the Intercontinental Champion. With the way the match was going, it appeared Drew was going to be noble and actually give Lashley a fair fight. Lashley was exhausted as well and got back in to beat the count, not taking the extra effort or energy to also throw McIntyre back in the ring. Drew would crawl over to grab his IC Title from the timekeeper's table while Lashley got to his feet and stared him down. Lashley then exited the ring at the north end and ran around the ring to Spear McIntyre as he walked past the ringside barricade. The Spear sent both men crashing through and the crowd went nuts as JR hit his classic “HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!” call. RAW fades to black after a replay and both men still being down.

ECW April 15, 2008 Bridgeport, CT MATCH 1: KOFI KINGSTON vs. MIKE KNOX (66%, 1.5*) ECW kicks off with some action as the exciting newcomer, Kofi Kingston, takes on the grizzled vet, Mike Knox. Kofi's offense had Knox caught off-guard in the beginning until Knox hit a big boot to put a thud on Kingston's momentum. Knox beat up Kofi for the next few minutes, hitting a couple of slams, and applying a chinlock. Kofi fed off the crowd to escape the hold before sending Knox off the rope and hitting a jumping back elbow. Kofi then hit his 'Boom Drop' jumping double leg drop. Kofi clapped his hands together as he awaited Knox to rise but Knox ducked a 'Trouble In Paradise' attempt. Knox then got Kofi in position to hit a 'Knox Out' but Kofi reversed into a crazy looking move, where he did a front flip while sweeping Knox's leg. Kofi turned that right into a pin and Knox was not able to escape, giving the upstart another big win. WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON VIA PINFALL IN 8:03
SAYANORA SUCKERS! (73%) Matt Striker then made his way out to the ring and grabbed a mic. Striker was already getting booed and he didn't help his cause by talking about ECW closing. Striker stated that he is happy this rudimentary promotion is going the way of the dodo. Striker talks about how disgusted he is that he had to spend time in this cesspool that is called ECW but then the music of the new Hardcore Champion, The Sandman, hits. Striker is looking all over and Sandman comes through the crowd. With nowhere to go, Striker charges at Sandman only to get cracked in the head with a Singapore Cane shot. Sandman then whacks Striker a few more times on his back before Striker rolls out of the ring and stumbles up the ramp. Sandman lifts his cane up as the crowd cheers.
CHAVO SPEAKS (78%) Rosa Mendez is backstage where she is joined by Chavo Guerrero. Mendez asks Chavo about Luke Gallows' comments from last week and if this will affect him as he prepares for his ECW Championship rematch. Chavo chuckles and tells Mendez that Gallows is making a big mistake. Chavo says he may be big but he's got nothing upstairs. Chavo continues by saying Gallows will realize that he needs guidance to make a name in the WWE. Chavo says as far as Dreamer goes, he's going to easily recapture the ECW Title. Chavo mentions Gallows again and said that “big buffoon” was the only reason Dreamer was able to beat him.
MATCH 2: JOHNNY NITRO vs. STEVIE RICHARDS (72%, 1.5*) Johnny Nitro returned to action for the first time since WrestleMania, as he took on Stevie Richards. Richards kept Nitro honest at times but the 'The Guru of Greatness' was able to put away the veteran pretty easily. Nitro would hit a 'Flying Chuck' springboard roundhouse kick and follow it up with 'Starship Pain' to collect the W. WINNER: JOHNNY NITRO VIA PINFALL IN 5:22
DREAMER/FOLEY TALK (83%) Tommy Dreamer is shown talking to ECW General Manager, Mick Foley, in his office. Foley says that next week, each man will pick an opponent for the other to face off against, “Pick Your Poison” style. Foley then says while he's supposed to be unbiased, he really wants Dreamer to beat the brakes off of Chavo at Backlash. Dreamer assures Foley that he will not disgrace the lineage of the ECW Championship by having Chavo be the final holder.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 3: CM PUNK vs. PAUL BURCHILL (75%, 1.5*) A old rivalry was renewed for the Main Event Match as CM Punk took on Paul Burchill. The match featured a lot of callbacks to their previous encounters and both men had some reversals in their repertoire from being so familiar with the other. Punk was able to hit a running knee to Burchill in the corner before dropping him with a bulldog. However, Punk went to the apron to hit a springboard clothesline and got booted in the gut on the way down. Burchill hit an implant DDT and got a near-fall. Burchill then lined up Punk for a 'C4' but Punk somehow countered mid-flip and caused Burchill to take the brunt of the impact. From there, Punk locked in the 'Anaconda Vise' leading to a tap out by Burchill. WINNER: CM PUNK VIA SUBMISSION IN 10:47
FINAL ECW RATING (71%, 1.96 MILLION VIEWERS)
Smackdown! April 18, 2008 Bridgeport, CT A MAULING (87%) Smackdown! kicks off with a look back to last week's World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Match between Batista and The Undertaker. The old rivals put on a great show for the fans but before a winner could be determined 'The Moscow Mauler' Kozlov interfered, leading to a no-contest. Kozlov then inflicted punishment on both men, including causing The Undertaker to pass out from his submission. After Kozlov's actions, a graphic then shows he will be in action against Undertaker's brother, 'The Big Red Machine' Kane, in tonight's Main Event.
A NEW CHALLENGER? (89%) “Break The Walls Down” hits and 'Y2J' Chris Jericho makes his way out. The World Champion does not have a challenger and talks about what went down last week. Before Y2J can go on any further “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge hits and Edge appears on the ramp. Edge says that it looks like Jericho doesn't have an opponent for Backlash. Edge then says the only reason Jericho is even champion in the first place is because The Undertaker got involved. Edge says he's owed a match with no distractions and if Y2J wasn't a coward, he'd give him the match at Backlash. Before Jericho could respond, Smackdown! GM Teddy Long comes out. Long tells Edge that he has to earn the shot but Jericho butts in and tells Teddy to allow it. Edge looks shocked as Long assures that Jericho wants to do that. Y2J tells Long that he'll never get tired of making Edge “tap like a b*tch.” Edge gets fired up as Teddy announces the match as official.
MATCH 1: MVP w/KRISTAL MARSHALL vs. SHANNON MOORE (73%, 2*) MVP and Backlash opponent, Rey Mysterio, were both in singles matches for tonight, and MVP had his scheduled match with Shannon Moore. Moore used his fast-paced offense to frustrate MVP for a lot longer than everyone would have thought. MVP had Kristal at ringside and used her to his advantage as Kristal tried to trip up Moore when he went off the ropes. MVP feigned a leg injury, which prevented Referee Jimmy Korderas from seeing the trip attempt. Moore turned and focused on Kristal, allowing MVP to hit a leaping reverse STO to get the win. WINNER: MVP VIA PINFALL IN 7:00
STAR SQUAD SLIGHTED (62%) Josh Mathews is backstage and The Star Squad walk into frame. Kenny Dykstra and Nick Nemeth look pissed and have something to say. Kenny says it's a joke that The Hart Dynasty just got a Tag Team Title Match just like that. Nemeth says The Star Squad have been slighted for far too long and Dykstra finishes by telling Mathews that they are going to Teddy Long's office and demanding a match for the titles.
MATCH 2: ASHLEY MASSARO vs. TALIA MADISON (55%, 0*) Ashley Massaro and Talia Madison squared off in a singles contest in the next match. With Divas Champion, Michelle McCool at ringside, this match was looked at as a quasi #1 Contenders Match. Ashley and Talia had a ton of history but never did get a conclusion to their singles feud. The two went back and forth for a few minutes before Ashley hit a suplex and was about to go the top rope to hit a 'Starstruck' elbow drop. Layla and Brooke then walked out to cause a distraction but McCool got up and met the two ladies at the end of the ramp before they could make an impact. The duo retreated but the delay allowed Talia to move on the elbow drop. Talia then stacked up Ashley and grabbed her skirt to steal a win. WINNER: TALIA MADISON VIA PINFALL IN 5:28
RATED-R REMATCH (75%) The Star Squad was shown in Teddy Long's office, mid-discussion, when The Rated-R Entourage walked in. The Star Squad looked annoyed as Long wondered what now for Edge and his crew. Edge then said Hawkins & Ryder want to invoke their rematch clause, causing The Star Squad and The Rated-R Entourage to squabble. Long tells everyone to shut it and says that The Star Squad will get their opportunity, NEXT! The Star Squad complain about this because they are not ready now but Long points at them to go and they walk off. Long then appeases Edge, Hawkins, and Ryder by telling them that they will face whoever wins tonight's title match at Backlash. Long also reiterates this is only because of the rematch clause.
MATCH 3: THE HART DYNASTY © [DH SMITH & TJ WILSON] w/NATALYA NEIDHART vs. THE STAR SQUAD [KENNY DYKSTRA & NICK NEMETH] – WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (65%, 1*) The Star Squad got their WWE Tag Team Title Match next and did all they could to win the titles off the new champs, The Hart Dynasty. Nick Nemeth and Kenny Dykstra did gain control of the match in the middle section, keeping TJ Wilson away from the powerhouse of the group, DH Smith. Wilson then landed on his feet when Nemeth went for a back suplex and followed it up with a tornado DDT. Both men made the tag and DH Smith came in and knocked down Dykstra a couple of times. Smith then dropped him with a scoop slam before clotheslining Nemeth back to the outside when he tried to enter the ring. Smith tagged in Wilson before hitting a delayed vertical suplex on Dykstra. Wilson followed it up with a springboard elbow drop to pick up the win and retain in their first defense. WINNERS: THE HART DYNASTY VIA PINFALL IN 10:16
MYSTERIO PRE-MATCH (78%) Josh Mathews stands backstage and is with Rey Mysterio. Mysterio is scheduled in action next but is asked about MVP. Rey says he's not shocked that MVP had to cheat again to win tonight and that it's right on brand for how MVP is as a person. Mysterio says he's got an even bigger head, “if that's even possible” since winning the Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania but Mysterio plans on humbling him a little at Backlash.
MATCH 4: REY MYSTERIO vs. JAMIE NOBLE (76%, 3*) Mysterio took on Jamie Noble in the semi-Main Event and these two put on a cruiserweight classic. While the match was just short of 10 minutes, Mysterio and Noble traded control of the match multiple times. Some highlights included Noble connecting with a Northern Lights Suplex, and a swinging neckbreaker, while Mysterio hit a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown, and a wheelbarrow bulldog. The match came to a conclusion with Noble having Mysterio in a Dragon Sleeper. Mysterio was able to somehow run up the ropes and turn it into a shirauni. Both men got up at the same time and Noble charged at Mysterio but Rey caught him with a drop toe hold. Mysterio then hit the '619' and followed it with a springboard splash to pick up the win in an entertaining match. WINNER: REY MYSTERIO VIA PINFALL IN 9:28
THE CLASH AT BACKLASH (85%) After Mysterio's win, a shot goes to Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller as they discuss what's being billed as 'The Clash at Backlash' when United States Champion, The Big Show, takes on 'The World's Strongest Man' Mark Henry. A video package then plays showing how the two got to this point with the package hyping the title match in 9 days.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: KANE vs. KOZLOV (74%, 2*) 'The Moscow Mauler' Kozlov faced 'The Big Red Machine' Kane in the Smackdown! Main Event. The two men traded blows and power moves for the majority of the match. Just when one guy would gain the advantage, the other would counter and get on top. After a double clothesline that had both men down in the middle of the ring, Kane and Kozlov got to their feet just before a 10-count. The two traded hands again but Kane got the upper hand, hitting a throat thrust that sent Kozlov to the ropes. Kane sent Kozlov across the ring and hit him with a big boot as he rebounded off the ropes. Kane then went to the top rope and waited for Kozlov to get to his feet. Kane jumped off to hit his signature classic diving clothesline but Kozlov caught Kane with a headbutt right in the chest. A 'Battering Ram' of all 'Battering Rams' and Kane was out. Kozlov shook the cobwebs out after using his dome to take out Kane and picked him up to hit the 'Iron Curtain.' Kozlov made the cover and got the victory. WINNER: KOZLOV VIA PINFALL IN 11:35
MORE MAULING (92%) After the bell rang, Kozlov wasn't finished. Kozlov picked Kane up and dropped him with another 'Iron Curtain.' Despite Referee Charles Robinson trying to get him to stop, Kozlov locked Kane in a Camel Clutch. In a scene similar to last week, Kozlov held the clutch on as referees and road agents were trying to get him to stop. Kozlov finally released when Kane was out cold and Kozlov harshly bounced his head off the mat. Kozlov lifted his arms up and screamed as the fans booed, ending Smackdown!
FINAL SD! RATING (80%, 2.87 MILLION VIEWERS)
(OOC: Well the RAW Main Event had a rough rating despite how cool that spot was...probably because it was a countout finish. ECW is limping to the finish line...a big reason why I'm canning it is ratings but using the "PG" change as the "reason" ECW has to be cancelled. A switch up that probably wasn't expected for the World Title Match. You'll see why I decided to do that in a couple of weeks. Also Kozlov getting a big win over Kane to solidify him as a beast. I'm trying to right the wrong of how WWE booked him. I was personally a fan!)

RAW: I was happy to see IC title story in the main event. Last spot was also cool. Lashley looks like a serious opponent for Drew. And Regal in the background... Definitely interesting story.
SD: Yeah, title match picture was unexpected. And no Undertaker nor Batista to get their revenge/save Kane/both? I wonder why. And I agree, Kozlov is cool.

RAW: So, by having Legacy stating they want all the gold in RAW, we get two options: a) McIntyre loses the IC title soon, so Cody can challenge a babyface champion; b) McIntyre vs. babyface vs. Rhodes (McIntyre gets protected in this case). I'm right? Regal losing clean has me thinking he might be the one to turn on McIntyre soon, making Drew a babyface instead. I'm a fan of The Renegades. Not sure how high their popularity is, but I can accept a little push for them if that's what you have in mind. Eheheh poor Maven. DX's partners will be Jeff Hardy and John Cena. I'm calling it. The final segment is awesome and something I can really picture Lashley doing. It's also pretty cool to have an IC title match in the main event.
ECW: No one would oppose to seeing Sandman cane Striker, tbh, even though everyone liked the guy as a commentator. Props for the conclusion of Punk vs. Burchill: countering the C4 to the Anaconda Vise would be a cool spot. Btw, with ECW dying soon, I wonder what's going to happen with Burchill.
SD!: Well, on PPV, Edge is coming out of a loss to The Undertaker. Personally I wouldn't consider him as a World title contender for Backlash, specially having a #1 Contendership Match happened the week before (sure, it was a non-finish, but...), yet, I understand that the situation with Kozlov gives Batista and Taker something to worry about before heading for gold and you'll avoid two face vs. face clashes for the title in a row. The midcard is solid and it provided us some cool moments in this show. Mainly the solid clean bout between Rey Rey and Noble. I thought MVP could appear costing Rey the match or so. You fooled me. Banging finish for Kozlov vs. Kane. Fact: despite thinking Kozlov wasn't that good, I loved the idea of an headbutt to the chest as a finisher. The Iron Curtain was also good. No doubt you're booking him strong, taking all the beasts by himself. I wonder what you'll do at Backlash, since he can't fight Batista and Taker by himself... maybe a Triple Threat #1 contendership? If so... who's taking the fall?
RAW was the better show this week for me, but only slightly.

RAWApril 21, 2008 Greenville, SC MATCH 1: BOOKER T w/SHARMELL vs. MR. KENNEDY (81%, 2*) Monday Night RAW kicks off with a grudge match as Booker T takes on Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy suffered a loss to Booker a couple of weeks back and followed that by attacking Booker post-match. Kennedy wanted another match and got it. Booker started with a flurry, taking down Kennedy and landing some punches. Kennedy asked for a break, poking his head out of the ropes. After Booker got hot again, Kennedy went to the outside and Booker went out after him. This allowed Kennedy to set a trap and send Booker into the steel post. Kennedy controlled the match for a bit until Booker caught Kennedy with a high-angle hook kick. Kennedy went outside and ended up walking towards Sharmell. Booker had none of it and came out after Kennedy as he and Sharmell yelled at each other but Kennedy moved out of the way causing Booker to knock down Sharmell. Booker tended to Sharmell before looking like he wanted to kill Kennedy. Booker then chased Kennedy around the ring until Kennedy got in. Booker, seeing red, missed a clothesline, and stepped right into a 'Mic Check.' Kennedy then made the cover and got the win. NOT GETTING OUT OF THIS ONE (76%) The screen transitions to RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman, who is in his office. Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre, and William Regal walk in and McIntyre wants something to be done about Bobby Lashley's “heinous” actions after their match last week. Coach says that it was “heinous” but refers to the fact that McIntyre got himself intentionally counted out. McIntyre denies that but Coach says he's not getting out of this one. Coach says McIntyre wanted to offer these open challenges, well at Backlash, he will put his IC Title on the line against Bobby Lashley, again! McIntyre is not happy as Regal tries to talk to Coach but Coach isn't finished and says if McIntyre gets counted-out or disqualified, he will lose the Intercontinental Championship! McIntyre goes ballistic as Regal holds him back and escorts him out of the office. McIntyre will not have the champions' advantage at Backlash.

STEPPIN' UP (78%) The camera cuts to a shot of Triple H in his locker room, getting ready for later tonight, when Shawn Michaels enters the picture. HBK asks HHH if he's heard from anyone tonight and Hunter gives him a look indicating that he has not found any partners yet. Moments later, Shad and JTG make an appearance. Cryme Tyme tells Shawn and Trips that they've dealt with them in the past and would like nothing more than throw hands against Legacy. The 4 shake hands and it looks like we have our main event match filled out.
A COUPLE OF CONCEITED LADIES (76%) From there, the camera transitions to Todd Grisham, who has both Melina and Maryse with him. Grisham asks Melina about her upcoming Women's Championship match with Mickie James at Backlash and Melina “promises” she will become the new champ. She then says that Maryse over here is going to take care of business tonight and beat Candice Michelle in the middle of the ring. Maryse then says something in French before playfully touching Grisham's head and laughing before the duo walked off. Grisham was left with a puzzled look on his face as this match was next.
MATCH 3: CANDICE MICHELLE vs. MARYSE w/MELINA (61%, 0.5*) Melina accompanied Maryse to the ring and after a couple of minutes in, Women's Champion, Mickie James also came out to even the odds, despite there not being any interference yet. Candice and Maryse had a spirited battle in the ring, traded control of the match multiple times. Eventually, Melina did try to cause a distraction and it prompted Mickie James to walk over. The two started brawling on the outside, which led to Candice getting a bit distracted. Melina then whipped Mickie into the barricade and as that was going on, Candice turned around into a boot in the gut and a 'French Kiss' DDT. Maryse would pick up the upset win and then her and Melina would celebrate in the ring as Melina grabbed the Women's Title and held it high. WINNER: MARYSE VIA PINFALL IN 6:53
LEGACY JUMPS CRYME TYME (84%) As the two ladies celebrate, the camera suddenly cuts backstage where some commotion is going on. There is a beatdown happening and JR yells that it's Legacy. After a couple of seconds, everyone can see that it is Cryme Tyme that Legacy is beating down backstage. Like a pack of wolves, they are stomping away at Shad and JTG. Randy Orton then flings Shad into a steel crate and before more damage can be done, backstage staff and road agents put an end to it. RAW goes to commercial and comes back with Shad and JTG licking their wounds. Triple H, HBK, and Coach are also in the area and it appears that Cryme Tyme will not be able to go tonight. Coach says he can change the match but Triple H cuts him off and says “If we can't find anyone else then fine, Shawn and I will whoop their asses by ourselves.”
NEXT WEEK: 2008 WWE DRAFT! (78%) JR and King discuss what just took place and then look forward to next week when RAW will be a special 3-hour show for the 2008 WWE Draft. Who will switch brands on the night where the landscape of the WWE is forever shaken up?!
MATCH 4: SANTINO MARELLA vs. TREVOR MURDOCH (66%, 0.5*) Santino Marella took on Trevor Murdoch in the next match of the night. Santino had been floundering for a while but found his footing in this match. Murdoch did give Santino some trouble but it was the martial arts background of Santino that proved fruitful in this contest. Santino would apply a Fujiwara Armbar on Murdoch, forcing a tap out, to get the win. WINNER: SANTINO MARELLA VIA SUBMISSION IN 7:08
BACKLASH CARD PREVIEW (88%) JR and King were then shown at the commentary desk as they hyped up Backlash. Graphics rolled on the screen for the match card on the RAW side of things and JR and King provided their commentary on the Backlash event. 3 championships are on the line, while HBK will take on Cody Rhodes.
WHAT'S NEXT? (87%) Speaking of HBK, he and Triple H are shown wondering if they are going to have to go at it against Legacy at a 4-on-2 disadvantage. RAW goes to a commercial break as the duo tries to figure out what's next.
ANOTHER MATCH ADDED (79%) Returning from the break, JR and King announce another match that has been added to Backlash. It will be Cryme Tyme looking for revenge against Legacy, as they take on the team of Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig. Legacy then makes their entrance and all 4 men are smirking as Shawn Michaels and Triple H make their way out. Just when it appears that no one is going to team with them, the music of the World Tag Team Champions hit, and Paul London and Brian Kendrick come to the aid of HHH and HBK.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: TRIPLE H, SHAWN MICHAELS, PAUL LONDON & BRIAN KENDRICK vs. LEGACY [RANDY ORTON, CODY RHODES, TED DIBIASE JR. & JOE HENNIG] (73%, 2*) This obviously doesn't sit right with Legacy but the tag champs were pretty much called out as a target earlier tonight when Legacy talked about collecting all of the titles. The match began and it was a standard Main Event with each guy getting some shine in the 10 or so minutes. Eventually, the match broke down and Referee Mike Chioda lost control as all 8 men were fighting in and around the ring. Enter The Renegades, who then showed up out of nowhere and when Chris Harris caused an additional distraction to Chioda, Lance Cade hung up Paul London on the top rope. This allowed Cody Rhodes, who was in the ring with London, to hit 'Cross Rhodes.' With everyone else still fighting on the outside, Rhodes made the cover and Legacy stole the win. WINNERS: LEGACY VIA PINFALL IN 12:01
PURE PANDEMONIUM (86%) The bell rang but the action didn't stop. The Renegades then assisted Legacy and it turned into 6-on-4 until Cryme Tyme hobbled down to the ring. RAW ended with all 12 men brawling around the ring, on the stage, and through the crowd, as JR said that these combustible elements will finish this on Sunday at Backlash.
FINAL RAW RATING (76%, 3.29 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- ECW April 22, 2008 Greensboro, NC CHAVO PICKS DREAMER'S “POISON” (77%) ECW kicks off the show with champ, Tommy Dreamer making his entrance. Once in the ring, Chavo Guerrero's music hits and the challenger for the ECW Championship at Backlash comes out on stage. Chavo laughs and says that he has a good opponent for Tommy, one that will “soften him up” before Chavo says he will take back the ECW Championship on Sunday. Chavo then points to the titantron and showcases that it is Mike Knox who will be the “poison” for Tommy Dreamer.
MATCH 1: TOMMY DREAMER vs. MIKE KNOX (64%, 2*) Just a few days before his title defense, Tommy Dreamer was locked in a rough brawl against Mike Knox. Knox's game is brutality and he spared no respite for Dreamer, beating him down throughout the match. However, the spirit of Dreamer, using help from the loud crowd, allowed him to stay in the match and offer counter blows. Knox then caught Dreamer with a bicycle kick to the face and it looked like he would get the win. Dreamer kicked out at the last second and Knox was left wondering what else he needed to do. Knox rebounded off the ropes and tried to hit a running crossbody but Dreamer ducked and Knox crashed hard on the mat. Dreamer was able to lift Knox and drop him with a 'Spicolli Driver' to get the win. A shot shows Chavo watching on a monitor and storming off at Dreamer's win. WINNER: TOMMY DREAMER VIA PINFALL IN 9:25
A HOT START (81%) The camera then cuts backstage to Rosa Mendez, who is with the hottest young star, Kofi Kingston. Rosa asks Kofi if he could have ever dreamed of having the start to his career as he has but before he can fully answer, Johnny Nitro walks in the shot. Nitro takes off his sunglasses and says that he's the real star here on ECW. Nitro says he doesn't buy the hype and Kofi then challenges him to a match. Nitro doesn't jump at the challenge but Kofi goads him in by asking if he doesn't buy the hype or is it actually that he secretly worried that he's being outshined. That seems to strike a chord with Nitro and he tells Kofi that the match is on.
MATCH 2: LUKE GALLOWS vs. BALLS MAHONEY (59%, 1.5*) Luke Gallows was in action next against Balls Mahoney, and Gallows dominated from the rip. Gallows powered Balls and showed what a force he could be by tossing the big man around like he was a feather. The beating culminated with Gallows hitting his inverted Full Nelson Slam that he calls 'Gallows Pole.' WINNER: LUKE GALLOWS VIA PINFALL IN 3:49
STRIKER DEMANDS ACTION (80%) The camera then cuts to General Manager, Mick Foley, who is in his office when Matt Striker waltzes in. Striker is not happy about what happened last week and demands that Foley punishes The Sandman for his attack. Foley chuckles and says that Striker deserved it. Foley's tone then changed to anger and he yelled at Striker for running down the name of ECW. Foley then went back to chuckling when he told Striker that he would fight Sandman in an Extreme Rules Match next week! Striker looked scared straight as he quietly left the room.
DREAMER PICKS CHAVO'S “POISON” (77%) Tommy Dreamer was then shown backstage with Rosa Mendez and Rosa congratulated Tommy on the win. Mendez then asked who Dreamer was going to pick to be Chavo's opponent and instead of saying it, Dreamer pointed and the camera adjusted to show CM Punk walking into frame. Punk and Dreamer shared a bro-hug before Punk said he was ready to take care of a little unfinished business. Dreamer patted him on the shoulder and Punk started heading to the ring.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 3: CHAVO GUERRERO vs. CM PUNK (76%, 2*) As CM Punk said, he had some unfinished business with Chavo Guerrero after Chavo used nefarious tactics to keep, at the time, his ECW Championship a couple of months back when he beat Punk. The two put on another solid match, building off their knowledge of one another's repertoire. The ending of the match had Punk hit his corner knee strike/bulldog combination but when he went for a 'GTS,' Chavo slid out the back and almost stole a win by grabbing the tights. After the kickout, Chavo caught Punk with a vertical suplex and then tried to hit 3 for the 'Three Amigos.' After the second one, Punk blocked, disengaged, and nailed Chavo with a roundhouse kick to the head. Chavo then stumbled right into Punk to pick him up and hit a 'GTS' to win the match. WINNER: CM PUNK VIA PINFALL IN 12:04
PUNK & DREAMER CELEBRATE (83%) CM Punk has his arm raised by Senior Official, Scott Armstrong, and then Tommy Dreamer makes his way out. Dreamer gets in the ring and raises Punk's arm before Punk shakes it off and raises Tommy's hand. All this while Chavo is holding his head and looking at the ring in disgust from the outside. It's Dreamer vs. Guerrero at Backlash in an Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship! Who will win on Sunday?!
FINAL ECW RATING (72%, 2.05 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- Smackdown! April 25, 2008 Greensboro, NC THE VIP LOUNGE LATER TONIGHT! (80%) Smackdown! opens the show with Michael Cole and The Cat announcing that MVP will hold an episode of 'The VIP Lounge' tonight. Cole is not enthusiastic about it while Cat is loving it. Graphics then show that there are two titles matches tonight as both the Cruiserweight and Divas Championship will be on the line. Just as Cole finishes, the music of Jimmy Wang Yang hits and Cole says the first of those title matches kicks off the show!
MATCH 1: THE AMAZING RED © vs. JIMMY WANG YANG – CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (65%, 2.5*) The Cruiserweight Championship was on the line as The Amazing Red defended against Jimmy Wang Yang. This match came about as Yang's last opportunity was ruined by interference and Red wanted to make it right. This ended up being a very good match that was given away on free TV as the two had the crowd buzzing. Yang's highlights included hitting a corner backflip kick, a sitout scoop slam driver that got a two-count, and a baseball slide to the outside into a headscissors takedown. Red's highlights included a running spinning wheel kick, a corkscrew moonsault onto Yang on the outside, and a Standing Shooting Star Press, that also got a near fall. The ending came when Yang hit a monkey flip on Red but Red landed on his feet. Yang then charged at Red but Red somehow turned it into a 'Code Red.' An insane transition that had the crowd going nuts as Red got the win with that maneuver. The two then shook hands and embraced after a hard fought match and got a standing ovation. WINNER: THE AMAZING RED VIA PINFALL IN 10:06
'HALL OF PAIN' INDUCTION (83%) The camera cuts backstage where Josh Mathews is standing by with 'The World's Strongest Man,' Mark Henry. Mathews leads with saying this is the first time Henry has been at Smackdown! since losing the United States Championship at WrestleMania. The intro pisses Henry off and he grabs the mic and shoos Mathews away. Henry yells that he's going to make Show pay. He calms down and says all that replays in his head is getting slammed on those steel stairs. Henry says he's going to show Big Show what pain really is on Sunday when he inducts him into 'The Hall of Pain.'
MATCH 2: THE RATED-R ENTOURAGE [CURT HAWKINS & ZACK RYDER] vs. LOCAL TALENT (59%, 1.5*) Ahead of their WWE Tag Team Championship Match at Backlash, The Rated-R Entourage took on an enhancement team in a tune-up for Sunday. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder took their time with the other team and displayed some impressive double-team moves. Hawkins put the match away with his mentor Edge's own 'Downward Spiral.' WINNERS: THE RATED-R ENTOURAGE VIA PINFALL IN 4:07
2008 WWE DRAFT THIS MONDAY! (87%) Cole and Cat are shown talking about next Monday Night when they will also be in attendance for the 2008 WWE Draft. Cole reminds the audience that it will be a 3-hour special episode and that everyone on the roster is eligible for the draft. Cat jokes by saying “Even us?” and Cole says indeed even they can be drafted.
MATCH 3: MICHELLE MCCOOL © vs. TALIA MADISON – DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP (64%, 1*) After a commercial break, the second of 2 title matches took place as Michelle McCool defended her Divas Championship against Talia Madison. McCool took the early advantage in the match by hitting a flapjack on Talia. McCool also hit a neckbreaker and after being in control, Layla and Brooke made their way down to ringside. While they didn't initially get involved, Brooke got the attention of Referee Jimmy Korderas, allowing Layla to get on the apron. McCool whiffed on trying to knock her off the apron, and Madison followed with a Northern Lights Suplex to get a 2. Talia held a chinlock on McCool and once the champ worked her way out and hit a back suplex on Talia, Layla and Brooke tried to get involved again. This time it was Layla distracting Korderas while Brooke grabbed a steel chair from ringside. However, Ashley Massaro came from the crowd and grabbed the chair out of Brooke's hand before hitting her in the stomach. Ashley then chased Layla away with the steel chair. Talia turned around to get hit with a big boot by McCool, and then Michelle finished her opponent off with the 'Wings of Love.' WINNER: MICHELLE MCCOOL VIA PINFALL IN 8:39
THE VIP LOUNGE (87%) MVP makes his entrance as the ring is set up for his segment 'The VIP Lounge.' MVP enters the ring with his Money In The Bank briefcase and the crowd sustains a chorus of boos. MVP starts off by saying he has a special guest for tonight. He tells the guest to come out but when no one does he laughs and says that he's the guest. MVP then talks about Backlash and tells everyone that he's going to make Rey Mysterio wish he never got involved in his business. MVP said he was about to be the World Heavyweight Champion before Mysterio ruined his cash-in attempt. Before MVP could speak another word “Break The Walls Down” hits and the champ, Chris Jericho, interrupts. MVP motions to his bouncer to not let Jericho come through the red VIP ropes but Y2J hilariously just walks around the stanchion. Jericho calls MVP a jokester because he still thinks he was going to cash-in to become World Champ. Y2J reminds him that he also has to pin or submit Jericho after he cashes-in...and that's not going to happen. The two start bickering until “Metalingus” hits and Edge comes out. Edge tells Jericho that after Sunday, he won't have to worry about preventing a cash-in, because he will no longer be the World Champion. MVP laughs but Edge barks at him too saying if he ever thinks about cashing-in on him, he'll spear MVP into next Saturday. MVP gets in Edge's face but then hits Y2J with a cheap shot. Edge and MVP put aside their differences and start stomping away at Jericho. Edge then lines up in the corner for a spear but Rey Mysterio runs down to the ring. Mysterio hits a springboard headscissors takedown on Edge, sending him flying out of the ring. MVP then backs down and exits the ring himself. As Mysterio checks on Jericho, Smackdown! GM Teddy Long comes out. Long says that in tonight's Main Event, it will be Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio vs. Edge and MVP in a Tag Team Match, playa!
MATCH 4: KOZLOV vs. CHUCK PALUMBO (63%, 0.5*) After a quick video highlighting the destruction that 'The Moscow Mauler' Kozlov has caused, Kozlov was in action against Chuck Palumbo. Palumbo tried to put up a fight but there was no slowing down the Russian. Kozlov took on any offense that Palumbo had for him and stopped him in his tracks with a big boot to his chest. Kozlov would eventually hit the 'Iron Curtain' to add Palumbo to his list of victims. WINNER: KOZLOV VIA PINFALL IN 5:18
BACKLASH CARD RUNDOWN (84%) Cole and Cat are then shown at the commentary table and go over the Smackdown! matches on the card for Backlash. As the graphics displayed the matches, Cole and Cat gave their insight. There will be 3 title matches, including 'Y2J' Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and MVP takes on Rey Mysterio.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: CHRIS JERICHO & REY MYSTERIO vs. EDGE & MVP w/KRISTAL (89%, 3.5*) The star-studded Main Event was next as the two biggest matches on the Backlash card came together in a tag team contest. Everyone got some time to shine in this one and the action was fast and furious. Eventually, Edge and MVP got control of the match and slowed the pace down, isolating Rey Mysterio. Mysterio finally makes a great evasion of MVP and ends up going through his legs to make a hot tag to Chris Jericho. Y2J comes in on fire, knocking MVP down and hitting a springboard kick, knocking Edge off the apron. This is when The Rated-R Entourage decide to come out and make their presence known. Curt Hawkins distracts Referee Nick Patrick and Zack Ryder hits a jumping leg lariat on Jericho before exiting the ring. Hawkins & Ryder helps Edge up on the apron and MVP makes the tag to him. However, the WWE Tag Team Champs, The Hart Dynasty, make their way down to even the odds. Kristal tries to get in Natalya's way but she knocks her down while DH Smith and TJ Wilson run Hawkins & Ryder off. In the ring, Edge goes for a spear but Jericho moves and Edge hits the turnbuckle. Both men make tags and Mysterio gets the best of MVP, with his fast-paced offense overwhelming MVP. Eventually, Mysterio gets MVP in '619' position and hits him with it. Mysterio follows it with a springboard splash, to pick up a win in the Main Event of Smackdown! Y2J and Mysterio celebrate the win as Edge and MVP stew from the outside to end the show. WINNERS: CHRIS JERICHO & REY MYSTERIO VIA PINFALL IN 13:43
FINAL SD! RATING (82%, 3.02 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- (OOC: Finally go the go-home shows up! Just been busy with life! I'll have the Backlash preview up early next week!)

RAW: Great opener by Kennedy and Booker. I like the "wrestler inadvertently hits own valet" thing, because it is somewhat of a tainted finish without being cheap, as the heel has his own merit. McIntyre is facing unfair punishment. I don't know if you have a bigger plan for Lashley, but I assume you don't... 'cause I think he wins the IC title at Backlash! Fun fact: I kind of enjoyed Maryse's run at the "top" of the women's division in 2009. Not that she's an amazing wrestler, but I thought she was decent and a great heel. You're making Santino more serious at every chance you get now. I approve that. It seemed right making Londrick DX's partners. It felt right to have The Renegades seize their opportunity and spoil the main event too. It feels good to see midcarders ruin a match for the established main eventers. It's a odd way of ending a go-home show, but it honestly gets a great positive point, from me at least.
ECW: Backlash (and then One Night Stand) can't come soon enough. Positives: Kofi vs. Nitro happening soon; the legal caning of Striker coming next week. I wouldn't think you'd make Chavito lose clean before his title defense. Btw, I don't think you're booking ECW wrongly. I think you're doing the realistic best, and that's to praise.
SD!: I think the Cruiserweight title is still the lesser title in this diary. Maybe because Amazing Red is the champ (nothing against him, but...). Anyway, I don't mind it being that title that we're reminded of with occasional bangers on TV. Great main event set for the night. I'm betting MVP and Edge didn't get along and one of them intentionally got DQd. We'll see. Omg Kozlov vs. Palumbo... Great main event with a nice dynamic even if a little overbooked (of course the Entourage had to show up and Hart Dynasty had to even the odds). MVP can still take a fall here and then. Btw, yeah, my prediction was really off.

Winner of the week: RAW. Not that SmackDown had a bad show, but I really liked RAW.
