Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, also known as AFC Ajax, Ajax Amsterdam, or simply Ajax (named after the legendary Greek hero), is a Dutch professional football club based in Amsterdam, that plays in the Eredivisie, the top tier in Dutch football.
Ajax have continuously played in the Eredivisie, since the league's inception in 1956 and, along with Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven, it is one of the country's "big three" clubs that have dominated that competition.
Feyenoord from Rotterdam are Ajax's archrivals. Every year both clubs play the De Klassieker ("The Classic"), a match between the teams from the two largest cities of the Netherlands.
PSV are also a rival of Ajax, but in terms of tension and rivalry, these matches are not as loaded as the duels with Feyenoord. The rivalry has existed for some time with PSV and stems from various causes, such as the different interpretations of whether current national and international successes of both clubs. The matches between these two teams is commonly referred to as "De Topper" ("The Topper"), and involves the two most trophy-laden sides in Dutch football and is essentially a clash of two competing schools of thought in Dutch football. Historically, PSV compete with a workmanlike ethic, preferring a more robust 4–3–1–2 or 4–2–3–1, typically shunning the frivolous 4–3–3 approach favoured in Amsterdam.

No f'n way!!! Championship Manager 01/02? I was NEVER able to play that game properly, even though I consider myself a pretty good Football Manager gamer. CM 01/02 is challenging AF.

CM 01/02 is challenging AF. 01/02 and 97/98 are my favorites in the series. I played the 1st one as well, but back then I was a bigger fan of Premier Manager and Player Manager.

Ajax have the most talented squad in the league (and probably in Europe overall). But until the youngsters developes into stars; the key players are goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont, centre back Christian Chivu, right winger Andy van der Meyde, striker Nikos Machlas and central midfielders Richard Witschge and Aron Winter.
If Ajax are to challenge PSV for the title and also find success in Champions League; we need youngsters like playmaker Rafael van der Vaart, left winger Victor Sikora, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and left defender Tim de Cler to take the next step.

Feyenoord is Ajax's main rival and will most likely claim one of the three top spots that guarantees a spot in Champions League. Feyenoord have a mix with solid veterans and exicting talents, but just like Ajax lacks the depth of prime players like PSV.
Feyenoord's key to success are striker Pierre van Hooijdonk, centre midfielders Paul Bosvelt and Patrick Paauwe; and right defenceman Brett Emerton. To challenge PSV and Ajax for the title; Feyenoord need their talented youngsters to take the next step to become reliable players. 18 year old forward Robin van Persie is heralded as a wonderkid. The club also have lots of potential in Belgian midfielder Thomas Buffel, Brazilian left winger Leonardo, centre back Gleen Loovens and Swedish midfielder Labinot Harbuzi. The other key to success if is Feyenoord can land any major signings that can give the club more depth.

PSV Eindhoven are the favorites to win the Dutch Premier League. The club have plenty of top players in their prime, like goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus, left defender Wilfried Bouma, left defender Jan Heintze, centre back Kevin Hoftland, centre back Eric Addo, right defender Andre Ooijer, right defender Kasper Bogelund, right defender Theo Lucious, left winger Georgi Gakhokidze, midfielder Mark van Bommel, midfielder Johann Vogel, midfielder John de Jong, midfielder Adil Ramzi, right winger Dennis Rommedahl, forward Arnold Bruggink, striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Yugoslavian striker Mateja Kezman. PSV is loaded with international players in their prime.
PSV have two wonderkids in 17 year old winger Arjen Robben and 18 year old striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The club also have talented youngsters like right defender Lindsay Wilson, winger Ibrahim Afellay and goalkeeper Yves Makabu Ma Kalambay.
PSV is world reknown for their top scouting and are known for finding world class talent like Brazilian strikers Romario and Ronaldo. A few top signings could turn this talented PSV squad into Champions League contenders.
