CHRIS JERICHO GETS FIRED
Stephanie McMahon opens RAW hyping up the Royal Rumble at the end of the month. Stephanie runs down the Rumble and says that whoever wins will headline WrestleMania 25. Stephanie says she hopes a RAW superstar will win but she's got her eye on a certain SmackDown! superstar who's her favorite at heart. Stephanie says that next week her father Vince will be coming to RAW for the first time of 2009. Chris Jericho interrupted Stephanie and joined Stephanie in the ring. Jericho said that the McMahons need to mind their own business and Chris Jericho should be in the World Heavyweight Championship match at the Royal Rumble. Jericho says he's looking forward to her father (the real boss) coming to RAW because thats the only McMahon that Jericho respects and Vince will know that Jericho is best for business. Stephanie reminds Jericho of the power she has and tells Jericho to watch his tone when speaking to her. Jericho says that RAW is his show and that her and that useless sack of crap Freddie Prinze Jr. doesnt deserve to tell Jericho what he should do. Stephanie said that World Heavyweight Championship match is done and the contract will be signed next week by JBL and John Cena. Stephanie gave Jericho a piece of advice and said that he should focus on winning the Royal Rumble (something Jericho has never done) and also Jericho should focus on his match tonight. Jericho says hes not going to wrestle in front of this inbred crowd unless its for the World Heavyweight Championship. Stephanie McMahon said if Jericho doesnt wrestle tonight he wont be part of the Royal Rumble match. Jericho said its no use trying to talk to Stephanie and that he's going to wait until a REAL McMahon is in charge. Stephanie McMahon reminds Jericho that she can fire anybody she wants and Jericho is close to not only being taken out of the Royal Rumble match but Jericho is close to being fired. Jericho says "What are you going to do about it?" before Stephanie told Jericho "YOU'RE FIRED!" and walked out of the ring before Stephanie ordered security to drag Jericho out of the ring.
Stephanie McMahon reminded Chris Jericho that nobody crosses a McMahon and fired Chris Jericho on the spot. |

EDGE HOSTS CUTTING EDGE WITH WWE CHAMPION JEFF HARDY
Edge welcomes everybody to the first Cutting Edge of 2009 and announces his guest tonight is the "soon-to-be former WWE Champion" Jeff Hardy. Edge says that he's blocked out all his distraction and focused on winning back his WWE Championship and bringing the championship back to La Familia and his beautiful Vickie Guerrero. Edge says that Jeff Hardy is a black cloud that is eventually going to ruin the legacy of the WWE Championship. Edge says hes not even sure Jeff Hardy will make it to the Royal Rumble with all his demons. Edge says he hopes Jeff can get past all his pain and suffering because Edge wants to take everything away from Jeff. Edge brings out Hardy who comes out and confronts Edge. Hardy talks about how ever since he's been WWE Champion his life has changed for the better. Jeff Hardy says his mind has never been more clear and it's clear to Hardy that he's going to have to beat the living heck out of Edge at the Rumble. Jeff Hardy says he's not a man of many words and says he'll see Edge at the Royal Rumble and will go on to headline WrestleMania 25 and unlike Edge he wont tap out in the main event of the biggest show of the year. Jeff leaves the ring and just as he's about to reach the top of the ramp, the Big Show comes out and hits Jeff with the Knockout punch. Edge takes this and joins in the beatdown on Jeff Hardy and the Big Show gives Edge two chairs and Edge performs a conchairto to Jeff Hardy on top of the ramp taking out Jeff Hardy. Multiple superstars come out to aid Jeff and Edge and the Big Show are escorted to the back before the medical team comes and puts Jeff Hardy on a stretcher.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP CONTRACT SIGNING FOR ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
Jerry Lawler hosted the contract signing for the World Heavyweight Championship match at the Royal Rumble. Lawler introduced both challenger and champion to the ring. JBL went first to sign the contract and said at the Royal Rumble the reign of JBL as champion will begin. John Cena called JBL names and said he's already had one reign ended by John Cena and Cena's going to make sure his next reign never begins. JBL called Cena a puppet and that these idiots in the crowd pull the strings and do whatever they want Cena to do. JBL says that he's going to defeat Cena and then go back to his home state of Texas and main event WrestleMania once again. JBL says that him being the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania is the greatest business decision for the company and they dont need a thug headlining. Cena told JBL to shut up and all JBL cares about is money and that makes Cena sick. Cena says at WrestleMania 21 defeated JBL was just business but at the Royal Rumble it's personal. Cena says that people like JBL have judged him all his life and he's always proved those people wrong. JBL says that none of these fans are going to be able to help him at the Royal Rumble and unlike last year, Cena will not be making a Royal Rumble moment to remember. Cena took the contract and signed it before throwing the contract on JBL's lap. JBL got up and tried to punch Cena but accidently hit Jerry Lawler instead. JBL retreated from the ring while Cena stayed and looked after Lawler.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCED
SmackDown! opens with a huge celebration from Vickie Guerrero on behalf of her love Edge who just won the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble from Jeff Hardy. Vickie brings Edge out and the two celebrate together in the ring. Edge says that he's La Familia is back on top and to celebrate this moment Vickie Guerrero presents Edge with his very own DVD called "Decade of Decadence". Edge says hes the luckiest man in the world, hes got the girl, the cold, the DVD and he doesnt care what the fans think of him. Edge talks about how he is the man that should take this company to new heights and Jeff Hardy is just accident-prone and his own worse nightmare. Edge says that the fans thought Edge would lose again but all the fans are WRONG WRONG WRONG and demanded that the fans apologize to him. Edge held up the WWE Championship in celebration but was interrupted by Co-General Manager Theodore Long. Long comes out and lets Edge know that at No Way Out he will be defending the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy. Edge and Vickie laugh and say that's no big deal since Edge can beat Jeff Hardy any day and he's done it before and will do it again at No Way Out. Long says to hold on a second playa, not only will he defend the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, but he will defend the WWE Championship in an ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH against Hardy and four other competitors to be determined tonight. Edge and Vickie flip out saying that's not fair and tell Long they ruined his celebration. Later in the night four qualifying matches took place with the Big Show, Triple H, the Undertaker and Vladimir Kozlov all qualified to enter the Elimination Chamber match.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR WHC AT NO WAY OUT; RANDY ORTON PUNTS MCMAHON
RAW opens with World Heavyweight Champion John Cena coming out to the ring. John Cena got on the microphone and talks about the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber match set for No Way Out for the WWE Championship. John Cena said that since Randy Orton hasn't decided who he will face at WrestleMania yet than John Cena has to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against five other superstars. Cena says he doesnt worry about that, he's a fighting champion and when Cena walks out of Elimination Chamber and goes on to headline another WrestleMania, if Orton wants to have a rematch from last year than Cena is just fine with that. Later in the night Chris Jericho, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Mike Knox and Rey Mysterio all qualified and will face off against John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Way Out.
 Later in the night St. Louis' own and Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton came out with Legacy to talk about his plans after winning the Rumble match and earning him a championship match in the main event of WrestleMania 25. Orton says that it doesnt matter who wins the Elimination Chamber matches because Orton is going to main event WrestleMania and walk out as WWE Champion. Randy Orton then called for Vince McMahon to come out of the ring so they can talk about WrestleMania. Randy Orton said he wanted an apology from Vince because Stephanie slapped Orton in the face during the preshow of the Royal Rumble. Orton says that he's about to make Vince millions and millions of dollars in the next few months and Orton doesnt deserve to be treated by somebody who all they were good for was to pop out some grandkids who will become worthless silver spoon babies. Vince who is now frustrated demands Orton to watch his mouth and scoffs at Orton. Vince says that he created WrestleMania and if Orton keeps it going Orton will never be close to the main event of WrestleMania. McMahon reminds Orton that if it wasnt for Vince his father would be nothing but a bag boy for Roddy Piper. Vince demands an apology or else Vince will take Orton out of not only the WrestleMania main event but the WWE. Orton challenged McMahon to fire him and McMahon attempted to say the words "You're Fired!" but Orton slapped McMahon across the face and punted the chairman in the head!. Stephanie McMahon ran down with EMT while Legacy and Orton slithered to the backstage area while RAW went off the air.

SHANE MCMAHON RETURNS TO RAW TO CONFRONT RANDY ORTON AND CHALLENGE HIM TO MATCH AT NO WAY OUT
Randy Orton opened RAW with fellow Legacy members. Orton says that he wants to remind everybody he is still the winner of the Royal Rumble and is going to headline WrestleMania for any championship he wants no matter if any McMahon is upset about that. Orton says he hasn't stopped thinking about punting Vince McMahon in the head last week. Orton says nobody will stand in his way; not Stephanie McMahon, not Triple H not even Vince McMahon as he clearly showed last week. Orton says that Stephanie tried to intimidate him but if she does it again she's going to join her father and he has no shame. Orton says that if he has to punt the whole McMahon family he will. All of a sudden Shane McMahon comes out to the ring and starts attacking both Legacy and Orton with a kendo stick. McMahon gets the best of Legacy before Orton attempts a RKO but Shane saw it coming and hit Orton over the head with a kendo stick. McMahon got on the microphone and said that Randy Orton will not make it to the main event of WrestleMania and Shane challenged Orton to a No Disqualification match at No Way Out and Shane promised he's going to make sure Orton regrets ever putting his hand on a McMahon. McMahon also announced that if any member of Legacy interferes on Orton's behalf, they will be stripped of the World Tag Team Championships and Orton will forfeit his WrestleMania match.

ECW opens up with ECW Champion Jack Swagger complaining that there is no ECW match on No Way Out and complained that SmackDown! Co-General Manager Theodore Long (whos filling in a ECW General Manager) is holding ECW back and not showing the true talent of Jack Swagger. Swagger says he's a victim and its unfair but Swagger promised that he's going to make sure to make a statement at No Way Out no matter if hes in a match or not. Swagger says he wants to defend the ECW Championship because he's a fighting champion and challenged anybody to a match tonight. Swagger called out Hornswoggle to face tonight but instead of Hornswoggle out came...CHRISTIAN!! Christian is back!!. The former WWE superstar came out and made his return and confronted Swagger. Christian got on the microphone and talked about Jack Swagger and his lisp. Christian said that now he's part of ECW and all his peeps are now "extreme!" Christian issued a challenge to face Jack Swagger at No Way Out but Swagger declined and told Christian he cant just come into his ECW and not earn a title shot. Swagger said if Christian wants to he's got to face a handpicked opponent of Swagger's tonight and if Christian survives that he can face Swagger at No Way Out. Swagger said that Christian is not a threat to his championship so Christian hit Swagger with the Unprettier and told Swagger that "Christian is a threat now!". After the match we see Swagger recovering running into Theodore Long. Swagger was mad at Long for not letting Swagger know Christian was in ECW and Long said that he was the one personally to bring Christian in. Later in the night Christian made his ECW in ring debut and defeated Mark Henry to make the match official against Swagger at No Way Out for the ECW Championship.

PIPER ANNOUNCES HALL OF FAME 2009; GETS CONFRONTED BY JERICHO. ORTON MAKES HIS WRESTLEMANIA DECISION
RAW opens with WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper coming down to the ring to make the annual Hall of Fame inductee announcements. Piper talks about him getting his start in the Pacific Northwest and talks about "the Wrestler" movie and how he teared up watching Mickey Rourke's role because it was very close to Piper's real life struggles and what he has gone through in his career. Piper says that WrestleMania 25 will be taking place in Texas and the main inductees will be the Von Erich family (Fritz, Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike and Chris) who's family tragedy is still felt to this day (btw, Iron Claw comes out this Friday!). Piper says that the next inductee is just simply "Perfect" and that is Curt Hennig aka Mr. Perfect. Piper then says that the final inductees are Jim Duggan, Mr. Fuji, Rick Rude, and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ronnie Garvin. Chris Jericho then interrupts Piper and talks about "the Wrestler" movie and how Mickey Rourke should not win the "Best Actor' award. Jericho says that he's watched the Wrestler and that people like Rourke are pathetic and if Piper sees himself in Rourke's character than Piper is pathetic too. Jericho says Piper was somebody who Jericho looked up to but now Piper is a shell of his former-self. Piper then got on the microphone and said that Mickey Rourke's portrayal was more entertaining than anything Jericho has ever done. Piper gets choked up and talks about how he wishes he still could get in the ring because he would beat some respect into Jericho. Jericho says that Piper is a poor excuse for a "legend" and that at WrestleMania 25 Jericho is going to stand in this middle of the ring and show Mickey Rourke how a real professional wrestler acts. Jericho then slapped Piper in the face before leaving Piper in the ring.

Later in the night, Randy Orton came out to the ring with Legacy to make his WrestleMania announcement. Orton says he wanted to wait until No Way Out to see how the Elimination Chamber matches played out and now that John Cena and Triple H are World Heavyweight and WWE Champion respectively Orton has made his decision. Orton asks for Stephanie McMahon to come down to the ring to talk to her face to face. Stephanie comes down and gets in the ring with Legacy and Orton. Orton first says that last night Orton had to do what he had to do to Stephanie's brother Shane because Shane couldnt keep his nose out of Orton's business. Stephanie asks Orton why he punted her Dad Vince and Orton says that was just strictly business. Orton talks about how he faced John Cena last year and defeated Cena and retained the WWE Championship and Orton said that he still remembers Triple H turning on him and kicking him out of Evolution after Orton won the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton says that now he's with Legacy and he's in Triple H's role and realizes he could never do what Triple H done to Cody Rhodes and Theo DiBiase. Randy Orton says that facing John Cena at WrestleMania again would be strictly business but facing Triple H would be personal. Randy Orton told Stephanie that he's made his decision and that at WrestleMania 25 it's going to be Randy Orton vs Triple H for the WWE Championship in the main event. Randy Orton then said Stephanie needs to let her girls know that after WrestleMania, Daddy H will never be the same again. Stephanie took offense to this and slapped Orton before Orton hits Stephanie with a RKO. Triple H ran down to the ring but Cody Rhodes and Theo DiBiase double-teamed the WWE Champion and handcuffed him to the ring post. Orton then slithered over to an unconscious Stephanie and gave her a kiss on the lips right in front of Triple H.
