And with only 8 matches instead of 12 for Halloween Havoc, they won't go over their allotted PPV time, and thus won't have to reimburse millions of dollars.

WCW World War 3 22.11.1998 Auburn Hills, MI
1. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman def. Juventud Guerrera (c) (13 mins) This is a rematch from Halloween Havoc and this time nobody is allowed at ringside, as the lWo is really aggressive around the cruiserweight title picture and spoiled the match last time. Kidman has been having a constant push throughout the year, while Juvi probably had the best one of his career (in terms of status, at least). Their 1998 series ruled and I’m up for a title change and shock moment, when Kidman hits the shooting star press and so the underdog wins the title
2. WCW World Tag Team Titles: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (w/ Arn Anderson) def. Saturn & Kanyon (c) (14 mins) Benoit and Malenko are doing wonders as a team. Even in 1997, when they were both in the US Title contention, they tagged a couple of times and showed potential. They quickly get a title shot against the former Flock, again there is history here as Benoit fought Raven and his lackeys for months and months. They get enough time to show their talent here, Malenko applies the cloverleaf on Kanyon and, as Benoit holds Saturn, Kanyon taps out for the title change
3. WCW United States Title: Booker T (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) def. Rick Steiner (10 mins) After Halloween Havoc, Scott Steiner explains his turn on Rick saying that he’s been carrying him for years and he’s tired of being a loser, so he offers his brother a non aggression pact: they both go their own way and that’s it, no war between them. However, after Rick wins a title shot through a battle royal on Nitro, Scott breaks his own deal when he brutally attacks Rick as he doesn’t want him to win a singles title before him. The unaware Booker hits the scissor kick and retains the title
4. #1 Contender Match: Sting def. Bret Hart (18 mins) I have to blow this off here, as Bret gets injured. Bret makes a few smartass comments about him taking the title off Hogan and defeating the nWo in under a year, with Sting taking all the credit, so Sting doesn't take this lightly and their alliance breaks up. Bret claims he will bring the bat back to ringside and maybe he will use it, as not doing it at Stampede costed him the title. However, Lex Luger returns from suspension and hits Bret with the bat, so an unaware Sting pins Hart
5. World War III Match: Goldberg def. Alex Wright, Barry Darsow, Bobby Eaton, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Chris Adams, Chris Jericho, Ciclope, Damien, Diamond Dallas Page, Eddie Guerrero, El Dandy, Hector Garza, Johnny Swinger, Juventud Guerrera, Kaz Hayashi, Kendall Windham, Kenny Kaos, Kevin Nash, La Parka, Lenny Lane, Lex Luger, Lizmark Jr., Meng, Mike Enos, Norman Smiley, Psychosis, Rey Mysteiro Jr., Ric Flair, Rick Steiner, Scott Hall, Scott Norton, Scott Putski, Scott Steiner, Scotty Riggs, Silver King, Super Calo, The Giant, Villano V and Wrath (25 mins)
As usual, a title shot for Starrcade is on the line. Nash and Hall want to finally have a chance to fight Hogan; Goldberg has been impressive and is still undefeated; Flair is always a top contender; DDP is trying to beat the whole system; Giant and Luger are kind of allied here as they are now heels without the backup. There are a lot of Mexican wrestlers helping Eddie, but they gradually get eliminated. Scott and Rick end up eliminating each other and fighting all over the place. DDP manages to eliminate Flair. Giant and Luger confront Hall, there is a bit of heat around who dropped the ball, but Nash helps Hall against them and Luger gets eliminated. So does Guerrero. They all get together against Giant, feeding him to Goldberg’s spear and then eliminating him. Final four: DDP, Nash, Hall and Goldberg. You almost get a handicap match, but Nash ducks the spear and it hits Hall. DDP laughs about it and stirs it, but Nash eliminates him. Nash apologizes to Hall, who pushes him away into Goldberg’s spear and so even Nash is thrown out. Hall punches Goldberg, who seems not to be affected and eliminates Hall to win the match and title shot. Hogan is next

WCW Starrcade 27.12.1998 Washington, DC
1. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman (c) def. Juventud Guerrera and Rey Mysterio Jr. (15 mins) The build I have in mind is quite similar to the one that actually took place, as Eddie Guerrero is trying to stick his nose in this match despite not being in it. It's 3 babyfaces technically, but there is some of heat because Kidman and Juvi have a feud and Mysterio is not happy about the lWo trying to control him. Guerrero wants Juvi and Mysterio to work together as they are "raza", but they are historic rivals and are not thrilled about this idea either. I liked this match in reality, it worked well as an opener. Kidman retains with the shooting star press on Juvi. They all shake hands after the match and Eddie kind of gives up (see below for more info)
2. Saturn def. Kanyon (11 mins) After losing the tag titles, Saturn and Kanyon are quick to blame each other because of the loss. Despite my future plans, I guess Kanyon would come across as the babyface of the two here, mostly because of his cool spots, so he claims he's all focused on himself finally, while Saturn will struggle without him picking up his short comings. Saturn is just determined to get a victory and get momentum back, as he wants to be his own man like Kidman. However, Raven shows up (back after 4 months of injury) and considers hitting either of them, before DDTing Kanyon, so Saturn wins the match. Raven smiles for the very first time in WCW
3. WCW United States Title: Scott Steiner def. Booker T (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) by KO (12 mins) The previous month, Scott attacked Rick and injured his brother, also costing him the chance to win the US Title. Rick is not cleared to fight and so not allowed in the arena, but he asks Booker to retain so they can have their rematch down the road, fair and square. Steiner can cut one of his mad promos, thus mocking Booker being in the Horsemen, as a way to hype this. I still have plans for Booker, but Scott needs a strong win and I need some heels to get higher in the card. Steiner hits Booker with a steel pipe and then puts him in the recliner. Booker doesn't tap despite suffering, so Double A throws the towel and Steiner wins the title
4. Street Fight Match: Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) def. Ric Flair (w/ Arn Anderson) (13 mins) I think this could steal the show, maybe not as a match but as a feud. It all starts when Ric Flair didn't choose DDP in Team WCW against nWo at the decisive War Games and DDP turned heel on the company, after defending it for years. Flair earlier said that DDP is not a team player, that was the reason he wasn't chosen, and everybody knows he's a primadonna. DDP replies by accusing Flair of trying to stay relevant off the work the Horsemen, so after Havoc we get this stipulation match. After a year where he had to sit back behind babyfaces like Sting, Goldberg, Bret etc., DDP can shine and turn heel here. Bam Bam Bigelow debuts and attacks Flair from behind, so DDP uses the cutter and wins
5. WCW World Tag Team Titles: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) def. Eddie Guerrero & Chris Jericho (w/ Chavo Guerrero Jr.) (15 mins) Unlike the above, this should steal the show in the ring. So, Benoit and Malenko are Horsemen and new tag champions. Eddie has been chasing some kind of gold for months with the lWo as a way to help his raza, but, when Jericho offers his help, Eddie accepts his offer and makes up that Jericho's dad was mexican, so it counts. The whole lWo, except the loyal Chavo, is mad at Eddie for preferring Jericho to all of them and walk out on him, thus breaking the whole stable, despite a few hilarious skits of Eddie trying to teach Spanish to Jericho. Again, think of all the former feuds between all 4 of them... 3 years of dynamics are culminating here. Benoit retains with the crossface on Jericho
6. Kevin Nash def. Scott Hall (13 mins) So, tensions has been building in the Outsider for months. With Hall being screwed up, Nash has accepted to keep tagging with him to help and also because nWo was making too much money to refuse them, as his family needed them. With the stable gone, Nash's plan is to finally make it on his own in WCW, while Hall thinks the party is over and is letting himself go. Nash has enough of him now. Basically Hall dares Nash to fight and put him out of his misery, but Nash only obliges when Hall keeps provoking and JJ Dillon officiates this match, that Nash didn't really want. Nash is now a babyface and reluctantly wins with the jacknife
7. Baseball Bat Is Legal Match: Sting def. Lex Luger (12 mins) Poor Sting has to settle with Luger as an opponent here, but Bret got hurt and Giant needed to give all of his heat to Goldberg instead. Who's left? However, this makes sense because of their history. Let's go back to June, when Luger turned on Sting and joined the nWo with the excuse of being tired to be only "Sting's friend" instead of the star he is, doing all the dirty work while Sting had a year off basically. With nWo dying in September, however, Luger has tried to come back to WCW, but now everyone is against him of course. Luger goes back to his friend Sting, but Sting refuses to help him and wants the bat that Luger stole from him in June. This is a normal match, apart from the fact the bat is legal. It's Luger last program as a main eventer (or the last ever?) and Sting closes the circle hitting him with the bat to get the victory
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title: Goldberg def. Hollywood Hogan (c) (w/ Eric Bischoff) (11 mins) We finally get here. Not only doing this on free TV was silly, but doing it on June 1998 was even sillier: Sting was sandbagged, Bret was ignored, DDP disappeared, the Wolfpac/Hollywood storyline never became tangible etc. you could say that title change ruined it all and of course Goldie was a paper champion while Leno, Rodman and Warrior were brought in and main evented PPVs. Let's do this correctly: this is the 1 year anniversary of Goldberg's WCW debut and he's still undefeated. Hogan downplays it, saying he only defeated nobodies. Yet, Hogan is super scared and you can tell. The Outsiders are not under his control no more, Giant was defeated, only Bischoff is in his corner and that's not good to him. This was actually a good match thanks to the fans, Goldberg hits the jackhammer and wins the title

1999... what a year this is going to be
Update 1.0: DDP, his new bodyguard Bam Bam Bigelow and his new stuntman Chris Kanyon (along with Kimberly) form The Jersey Triad
Update 2.0: Eddie Guerrero (actually out for his car wreck) is mysteriously attacked backstage and the lWo so officially disappears
WCW Souled Out 17.01.1999
Charleston, WV
1. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman (c) def. Juventud Guerrera, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Psychosis (15 mins) This was on the actual card and it ruled. Really good idea, as the cruiserweight opener has been a WCW tradition for a long time now. Kidman is the new champion, but actually the newest of the bunch; Juvi is feuding with him and wants the title back. Psychosis is still trying to win his first title; Rey Rey is finally free of the lWo, but seems to have lots of chemistry with Kidman. They get good time to shine, Kidman retains with a a shooting star press on Psychosis
2. Bam Bam Bigelow def. Scott Norton (7 mins) Bigelow has been hired to be DDP’s bodyguard, like helping him at Starrcade, but he still wants some glory of his own and he’s still undefeated since his arrival. Norton is an interesting choice, I have never really pushed him and he’s a part timer, but he was a solid hand and never really jobbed out too much, so he could be sacrificed here. Bigelow and Norton have a slugfest and Bigelow wins clean with a running powerslam
3. Chris Jericho def. Chavo Guerrero Jr. (10 mins) So, with Eddie out of the picture, Jericho goes back to do his thing but Chavo Jr. seems to be mad at him: he accuses Jericho of forcing Eddie to choose him as a partner at Starrcade, when it should have been his spot, as a Mexican and as a Guerrero. Jericho says that Eddie didn’t choose him as he’s useless and Chavo attacks Jericho, turning babyface in the process. While an underdog, he does takes Jericho to the limit here, but Jericho wins the match with a dirty roll up
4. WCW United States Title: Scott Steiner (c) def. Saturn (w/ Raven) (12 mins) Steiner is the new champion and still gloats about injuring his brother Rick and then winning the belt he was chasing in vain. However, Saturn now steps up to the challenge after defeating Kanyon at Starrcade. Raven helped him and says he will be in his corner, supposedly supporting Saturn’s choice to be a singles guy now. But that what Raven does, just stands in the corner, watching Steiner using his steel pipe on Saturn and pin him to retain
5. Fit Finlay (w/ Dave Taylor) def. Booker T (w/ Arn Anderson) (13 mins) Booker wants redemption after losing the US Title, as he plans on regaining it as soon as possible. With Davey Boy leaving, the Blue Bloods have been depushed, but Finlay is still the leader and they lose to the Horsemen in a 3v3 match on Nitro. Finlay challenges Booker personally and so the match takes place here. It’s a tough match, with Booker dominating, but he misses the scissor kick and Finlay pins him by holding his tights
6. Ric Flair (w/ Arn Anderson) def. Chris Kanyon (w/ Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly) (10 mins) Flair cuts one of his mad promos and wants DDP after the Starrcade debacle, but DDP announces that his stuntman Kanyon will fight Flair instead, as he has nothing else to prove. Flair is upset, as he wants Bigelow and DDP, but Kanyon quickly makes it personal by imitating and mocking Flair. This match is an angle advancement, but should be a good test and showcase for Kanyon. Kanyon is dressed like DDP (like he did in 2000 to mock him), but his Kanyon Cutter misses and Flair pins him with a small package
7. WCW World Tag Team Titles: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) draw The Rednecks by double DQ (12 mins) After Starrcade, Barry Windham and Curt Hennig get together and form a team called “The Rednecks”, that is pretty much that they did in the real 1999 WCW. Thanks to Hennig’s history with the Horsemen, they quickly antagonise Benoit and Malenko, also defeating them in two singles match before the PPV. This match is signed and the champions get tired of the heels’ illegal tactics and provocations, so the match gets thrown out after a bit and ends in a double DQ
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title: Goldberg (c) def. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall (13 mins) Goldberg is finally the champion and dares Hogan to get his rematch, but Hogan doesn’t appear. However, both Nash and Hall want a shot. Nash gets it originally, as he defeated Hall at Starrcade, but Hall keeps messing with Goldberg until he’s too silly to add him to the title match too. Hall asks Nash to work together and split the championship money they both need, Nash seems tempted but at the PPV he stops the razors edge with a punch and fights Hall again. Goldberg takes advantage of this, knocks Nash out with a spear and jackhammers Hall to retain

WCW SuperBrawl IX 21.02.1999 Oakland, CA 1. Tornado Rules Match: Barry Windham, Curt Hennig & Meng def. Booker T, Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (w/ Arn Anderson) (13 mins)
After the no contest of the previous month, Rednecks are back against the Horsemen, that this time also have Booker on them as he's still waiting for a US Title rematch. The have Meng as their hired gun, as he's a big monster that doesn't mind destroying people. To avoid another non finish, tornado rules are on. As it's a non-title deal, of course the challengers win to hype a title match, so Windham kicks Malenko low and Hennig pins Malenko with the hennigplex 2. WCW United States Title: Scott Steiner (c) def. Raven (w/ Saturn) (11 mins)
After Saturn failed to capture the US Title, while Raven was watching and didn't help, this time the master says he will show Saturn how to get it done, as he's a former champion and knows how to win. Steiner is not happy about both guys going for his belt, but the duo is somewhat dysfunctional as Saturn, this time, doesn't plan on helping Raven much and just watches. Raven distracts the referee, but Saturn doesn't do a thing, and Steiner retains with a belly to belly suplex 3. Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Juventud Guerrera def. Psychosis & Chris Jericho (10 mins)
So, Chavo has turned babyface and fighting Jericho for not respecting his heritage and what used to be the lWo. Juvi is happy about Chavo having a change of heart and tags with him, while Jericho uses Psychosis, who's a mercenary as usual and doesn't care about Jericho's views, as long as he's getting paid to fight. This can be a nice skirmish before their next singles match. Chavo knocks Jericho off the top rope and Juvi hits the shooting star on Jericho to get the pinfall victory 4. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman (c) def. Rey Mysterio Jr. (15 mins)
Mysterio/Kidman finally happens. Since Kidman rise, they fought a few times and also tagged, but never one on one. Rey Rey is impressed by Kidman, but Kidman says that he can only aspire to be a good champion if he defeats Mysterio. This is a babyface match and it should be a nice spectacle, they always did well together. During the match, Rey Rey is established as being so good, but he misses the 619 and Kidman gets a quick small package to retain. They shake hands
5. Bret Hart def. Fit Finlay (w/ Dave Taylor) (13 mins) Bret returns from his groin injury and as a babyface, promising that 1999 will be the best year of his career (sigh, if only) and that he will get the World Title. He moves again from his frenemy relationship with Sting, as he's challenges by Finlay. Finlay was always a great worker, so here he can have the chance to have the most important match of his career and shine, even in obvious defeat. Bret gets a good return to action and wins with the sharpshooter 6. Last Man Standing Match: Kevin Nash def. Scott Hall (12 mins)
This will be the last program Hall is in, as he misses most of 1999 and 2000 due to injuries and personal problems. It's a shame, but if he was too screwed up for 1999 WCW, I can't use him either. After Nash reluctantly fought him and beat him at Starrcade, Hall costed him the title at Souled Out, so this time this match is booked for Nash's will to finally put an end to Hall, all friendship aside, he needs to move on. Nash jacknifes Hall through a table and wins the match 7. Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow & Chris Kanyon (w/ Kimberly) def. Ric Flair, Roddy Piper & Sting (13 mins)
So, the Jersey Triad is still antagonising Flair due to his feud with DDP. They challenge him to a 3v3, knowing that the other Horsemen are all busy, so Flair has no partners. However, Flair brings back his friend Piper and incredibly Sting accepts to be the third man, claiming that he supported DDP and is also disappointed by him turning his back on WCW. The Triad is of course not as good, or experienced, as the babyfaces and that is exactly why they need to win here, a cheap victory still. The Triad isolates Flair and Bigelow incredibly pins him with his running powerslam
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title Steel Cage Match: Goldberg (c) def. Hollywood Hogan (12 mins) Hogan appears on Nitro and shockingly announces he doesn't want a title rematch, he wants to move on and deal with the Outsiders for costing the nWo demise. Everybody is surprised and Hogan says there is nothing left to do with the title, he's done it all, but Goldberg knows why he is dodging him: Hogan loves to say that Goldberg had a one night fluke victory, but if Hogan gets defeated for a second time, he will lose all credibility and he can't let it happen. Hogan is pressured to take the rematch and threatens to end Goldberg's streak and career, as he will be the one to lose face once Hogan beats him. While the match goes on, Nash comes to ringside to watch, because he wants the title and because Hogan called him out on Nitro. I have this pretty cool spot in mind, with Hogan standing on the top rope and jumping towards the open cage door, only for Goldberg to spear him in mid-air. Hogan is finished and Goldberg escapes the cage to retain

WCW Uncensored 14.03.1999 Louisville, KY
1. WCW World Tag Team Titles Double Texas Bullrope Match: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) def. The Rednecks (15 mins) This is the blowoff, after the first DQ and then the Rednecks winning a six men against the Horsemen. I think Hennig and Windham were a fine team by 1999 standards, so they can have this match with Malenko and Benoit, using the bullrope stipulation to fit the heels’ gimmick. They go back and forth, until Benoit suplexes Windham and Malenko reaches the corner, touching it so the champions retain once again
2. Booker T def. Meng (9 mins) Meng was recruited by the Rednecks to help them at Superbrawl, so Booker now wants to get even with the monster. Meng is not a main star, but beating him is still kind of impressive and this should benefit Booker, who openly admits that his goal is getting the US Title back from Scott Steiner, so he needs some moment. This is a brawl, a short one. Meng is impressive, but Booker finally takes him down with the scissor kick and wins the match
3. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman (c) def. Mikey Whipwreck (11 mins) In reality, Whipwreck was the mystery opponent here and I think that was quite cool, so let’s keep that. Whipwreck arrives as a challenger for Kidman, which is some fresh air for the division as a whole. They did have a good match and, as Whipwreck won’t stay for long, this match is of course made to push Kidman more. It’s an even bout anyway, but Kidman hits Whipwreck with the shooting star press and retains
4. Raven & Saturn def. Juventud Guerrera & Rey Mysterio Jr. (13 mins) After they both failed to capture the US Title, Raven convinces Saturn to team up together. Saturn wanted a single run, but he’s can’t say no to his mentor and reluctantly accept, even though Raven is taking advantage of him. Rey Rey and Juvi have tagged a few times, here they try to do it again as an experiment and they end up being a threat to the heels. However, Saturn powerbombs Juvi and Raven pins him, taking all the credit once again
5. Lumberjack Match: Chavo Guerrero Jr. def. Chris Jericho (12 mins) This is lumberjack match because all the luchadores are at ringside to whip Jericho and get revenge for the way he treated him (when the lWo was a thing). With this program, getting revenge for Jericho “attacking Eddie” and exploiting the Mexicans, Chavo would hopefully get over a decent deal. Jericho argues with some luchadores at ringside, so Chavo finally hits the brainbuster on him to win. Definitely the biggest win in Chavo’s career so far
6. WCW United States Title: Scott Steiner (c) def. Rick Steiner by DQ (8 mins) After Scott injured him and put him on the shelf for a few months, Rick comes back and JJ Dillon finally books this match for the first time ever: brother vs brother, for a title. Is it the first time in my WCW history that it happens? If I am not missing anything, it is. Anyway, predictably this program has to continue and so we get a DQ. Actually, the babyface Rick gets DQd when he grabs the steel pipe that Scott used to injure him, hitting his brother for the DQ
7. #1 Contender Gauntlet Match: Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) and Sting def. Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan and Bret Hart (15 mins) All former world champions are put in this match, with a title shot on the line. This might be a handy match, for a bit of star power during the show. You can win by pinfall or battle royal rules. Of course, there are many dynamics here: DDP and Flair, DDP and Sting, DDP and Nash former friends, Sting and Flair friends, Sting and Hogan, Sting and Hart frenemies, Nash and Hogan now having tension, Flair and Hogan, Hogan and Hart never wrestled despite their issues etc. This comes down to DDP and Sting, who end up eliminating each other, so it’s a draw
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title: Goldberg (c) def. Bam Bam Bigelow (10 mins) This is probably not good when it comes to draw, but as an attraction it was fantastic. While Goldberg and Nash were feuding in real WCW in 1998, Bam Bam’s arrival made it so much better, him and Goldberg brawling ruled so much. So this is my main event here. It’s also streak vs streak, as Bigelow never lost and pinned Flair at the last PPV, he’s definitely looking like a major threat. This only needs 10 minutes and it gets bloody. Goldberg stops Bam Bam’s finisher and hits an impressive jackhammer to retain

WCW Spring Stampede 11.04.1999 Tacoma, WA
1. Rey Mysterio Jr. def. Mikey Whipwreck (12 mins) I can’t say this is a dream match, but I think it would be an intriguing one. Plus, Mikey is soon on his way out and so let’s get this match out of him at least. Whipwreck is trying to fit in WCW, while Mysterio wants a victory to get some momentum back, after losing to his new friend Billy Kidman. They open the show and should go very good in this instance. Mysterio wins with the 619 and frankensteiner, getting another good success
2. Fit Finlay def. Dave Taylor (8 mins) As you might remember, the Blue Bloods had a successful 1998 thanks to adding British Bulldog to the stable, but since his departure things haven’t really easy at all for them. Finlay and Taylor keep arguing about everything and, while they are still an item, JJ Dillon books them against each other to shut them up. This is a way to hype the stable’s rebuild, while Finlay gets another singles win, this time on Taylor with the celtic cross
3. Juventud Guerrera def. Blitzkreig (11 mins) This happened in real life and it was a great match, so of course I want to keep it and capitalize from it. Blitzkreig, in fact, would stay around for a bit but never perform to this level. Juvi, after a good 1998, wants the title back as he finally tasted it, especially with the lWo now out of picture. This wasn’t the masterpiece a few people hyped, but it was still quite good and it stays on my card. Juvi driver and Juvi wins the match
4. WCW World Tag Team Titles: Saturn & Raven def. Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (c) (w/ Arn Anderson) (15 mins) Since Raven rejoined his alliance with Saturn, he’s treating him like an equal somewhat, but he still manipulates Saturn and keeps him doing the things he doesn’t want to do. Saturn wants singles gold, but here he has to play along due to loyalty, as Raven wants help against their former rivals Benoit and Malenko. This happened and it ruled, in the division’s last few good months ever. Raven sacrifices with a dive on Malenko and Saturn hits the powerslam on Benoit to win the titles
5. WCW Cruiserweight Title: Chavo Guerrero Jr. def. Billy Kidman (c) and Chris Jericho (12 mins) Kidman had a really successful reign, but it’s time for him to drop it. Rivals Chavo and Jericho both challenge the champion, Jericho is determined to get gold again, while Chavo is chasing the dream of a lifetime almost. This can be a quick, but solid triple threat. Jericho blocks the shooting star press from Kidman with his knees, but Chavo rolls up Jericho and wins the title. I hope this would get a decent pop, as Chavo fought for this
6. WCW United States Title: Booker T (w/ Arn Anderson) def. Scott Steiner (c) (12 mins) After 4 months, Booker finally gets his rematch against Steiner and wants the title back. Scott has been busy with his brother Rick, but vows to get Booker out of the way for good and have a long reign. Booker remembers the days of Steiners vs Harlem Heat, as Scott was always a bully to him. The match happens and Rick interferes, playing eye for eye and attacking his brother, so Booker hits the scissor kick on Scott and wins the title back
7. Shot vs No Shot: Bret Hart & Ric Flair def. Hollywood Hogan & Kevin Nash (13 mins) So, while DDP and Sting drew in the gauntlet match of last month, a tag match is booked with the other 4 participants. JJ Dillon rules that the winner of this match will get a shot, but the loser won’t have a shot for the rest of the year. Bret and Flair kind of get along, but Nash and Hogan don’t, as they were quite hostile during the late nWo days. Anyway, they agree to fight together, as so much is on the line here. However, Nash turns on Hogan and jackknifes before leaving, so Bret pins Nash and wins the shot
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title: Goldberg (c) def. Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) and Sting (15 mins) After DDP and Sting win the battle royal, JJ Dillon decides to book this triple threat for the title to settle the score. Goldberg and Sting face for the first time, even if not 1v1, while DDP is still feuding with Sting and tells stories about Goldberg being a big goof at the Plant and him having to show him around. Goldberg and Sting happily beatdown Page, but then they have to fight themselves too. Sting wants to deathdrop DDP, but Goldberg spear them all and they fall down. Goldberg hurts himself falling on top of them, but pins DDP to retain

WCW Slamboree 09.05.1999 St. Louis, MO
1. WCW World Tag Team Titles: Raven & Saturn (c) def. Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko (w/ Arn Anderson) (18 mins) This ruled in reality and would rule here too. Raven and Saturn are new champions, with Raven using reluctant Saturn for his own good; Benoit and Malenko want their belts back; Mysterio and Kidman are a new team, becoming friends and adding Torrie to the mix. The feud is former Flock vs Horsemen, but Mysterio and Kidman are a nice addition to the mix. This gets tons and tons of time and is an open match. Saturn hits a powerslam on Kidman and pins him, while Raven takes Kidman’s foot off the rope
2. Juventud Guerrera def. Kaz Hayashi (10 mins) Juvi has been an important player of the cruiserweight division, especially in 1998, and he is trying to get the title back now. Hayashi will do more later, but for now he’s just a talented young boy, rough but very athletic, looking for a fight. This should steal the show on a Thunder episode, but can also be a nice little match on a PPV, as a way to make our card more appealing. Juvi hits the juvi driver and wins the match, getting some momentum
3. WCW United States Title: Booker T (c) def. Fit Finlay (13 mins) Booker has the US Title back, but Finlay is his first challenger. My booking of Finlay has been stronger than reality, he is a player and can hang with most in the midcard pool, so his recent wins get him a shot here. Dave Taylor, after constantly arguing with his teammate, is not at ringside for this match. Finlay does everything to make Book look good here, which is what he does best. It’s a physical match and Finlay does well, but Booker retains with the scissor kick
4. Steel Cage Match: Rick Steiner def. Scott Steiner (12 mins) This is the blowoff. The almightly Steiners broke up about 8 months ago, when Scott turned on Rick and then injured him with a steel pipe, then also winning the US Title in absence, until Rick came back to cost Scott the belt. It’s a blowoff of a feud that should have enough heat, but the match would probably suck, so at least I have the cage to help me here. Also, as Scott is the major player but he needs to lose (he’s getting injured), Rick can finally hit him with a steel pipe and escape the cage to win
5. WCW Cruiserweight Title Lucha Death Match: Chavo Guerrero Jr. (c) def. Chris Jericho (13 mins) Chavo has been an inspirational character this year, finally standing up for his raza and winning the title, also to get revenge for his uncle Eddie and avenge his car accident. The arrogant Jericho still doesn’t respect Chavo though and we get a blowoff here. It’s Jericho’s last program and the 2 are friends, I would expect Jericho to do his best to help Chavo here. Finally Eddie returns and hits Jericho with the title, so Chavo uses the frog splash to retain. The Guerreros hug and reunite
6. Kevin Nash def. Horace Hogan by KO (3 mins) Horace was a joke, we all know it, but I need something to milk the feud until the Nash/Hogan match finally takes place at GAB (marquee PPV, compared to Slamboree). So, while Hogan is out due to Nash’s ambush on him, is nephew stands up for him and… it doesn’t go well. This is just an angle to get heat, as Nash dared to destroy Hogan’s young nephew and end his career etc. Nash powerbombs Horace 3 times, until the referee stops the match, Nash made Hogan even more mad now
7. Triple Strap Match: Sting, Ric Flair & Roddy Piper def. The Jersey Triad (w/ Kimberly) (13 mins) I think this should be a fun deal. At Superbrawl, this match happened and the Triad stole the victory. However, since then Sting is also feuding with DDP (while Flair and DDP have been feuding for a long time now), the dissension doesn’t slow down and we get this match here. The strap pairings are: Piper/Bigelow, Flair/Kanyon and Sting/DDP and the match ends as soon as somebody touches all corners. Sting hits DDP with the backdrop, so Flair touches all the corners and wins the match
8. WCW World Heavyweight Title: Goldberg (c) def. Bret Hart (15 mins) Again, with hindsight I know about Owen and that Bret will also retire at the end of the year so… yes. I’d keep the angle of Goldberg spearing Bret but hurting himself, then leading to an actual match because I am not WCW. The psychology of the match is that Goldberg is still undefeated, yes, but Bret injured his ribs and he can’t compete with the best technical wrestler ever. So, while Bret is not the strongest, his skills are actually a threat to Goldie. They get some time, Goldberg suffers a lot but hits the jackhammer and retains
