Paul Bearer returned without the urn, but with a new look and a bandaged face. Bearer said that since he was burned at WrestleMania. It was time to reveal a "secret" that only he & The Undertaker knew unless The Phenom came back to him. The next week Undertaker told Bearer that he needed more time. Bearer revealed that the secret was about 3 members of The Undertaker's family being lowered in the ground and Paul Bearer would not reveal the secret. Taker came out and said that he hoped the creatures of the night would forgive him for what he had to do. Undertaker then kneeled down in front of Paul Bearer. PAUL BEARER TELLS THE WORLD THE UNDERTAKER'S SECRET June 30. 1997
The Undertaker finally snapped on Paul Bearer on June 16. 1997 during his WWF Title Match with Ken Shamrock about not doing the right thing to beat Ken Shamrock thanks to interference from Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Undertaker attacked Helmsley and that allowed Vader to show up to tell Undertaker to do the right thing and beat Shamrock but Undertaker attacked Vader too and that got Paul Bearer a microphone saying that first, Vader wanted a title match against The Undertaker at Canadian Stampede in a Buried Alive Match. The same Match that Vader cost him. And that he would reveal The Undertaker's secret in 2 weeks time. On June 30. Bearer announced that The Undertaker's mother, father and brother were all involved in a house fire that assumingly claimed their lives and revealed to the world that The Undertaker was behind the arson. The Undertaker said what Paul Bearer stated was true, but he said that his brother Kane was responsible for the fire as he had the liquids and matches in his hand. Undertaker said that when he returned to the Funeral Home. He was restrained and held back by the fire fighters as his mother, father and brother were found burned to death. Taker said that he wasn't even at the funeral, but during the middle of the night two days before the funeral. Paul Bearer drug Undertaker to the funeral home to see the bodies of his families. Taker said that he couldn't breathe when he saw the bodies of his mother and father. He then stated that he drew strength from the spirit of the dead, of his mother, father and his little brother. During Vader's match. The Undertaker ran down to the ring to attack Vader with Bearer screaming "murderer" at him. Undertaker pleaded with Paul to tell the truth or else he would kill Paul if he told the truth. Bearer said that Kane was alive and he survived the fire all this time and that he was coming to the WWF.

Mankind and Vader's war continued to intensify at Summerslam when they faced off in a 15 foot High Steel Cage Match.
In a Call-Back Moment to what he saw in 1983 between Jimmy Snuka & Don Muraco. Mankind dove off the steel cage and hit a big splash on the 400-pound former World Champion to get the win.
Owen Hart & Stone Cold Steve Austin battled it out for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Owen had the advantage in this match and was almost looking to get Austin at anyway he can.
But in one scary moment, Owen would deliver the Tombstone Piledriver to Austin and almost got the pinfall with that move but Austin kicked out.
Austin still stinging from that Tombstone Piledriver was able to hit the Stone Cold Stunner on Owen and pin Owen to win his first Singles Championship in the WWF. The Intercontinental Championship.
And of course Summerslam capped off the big main event between The Undertaker & Bret Hart for the WWF Championship with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee.
Paul Bearer even interfered in the match to get a birds eye view of The Undertaker.Bret thought he decided by beating The Undertaker was going to use a Steel Chair but Shawn took the chair away and Bret spat in Shawn's face allowing Shawn to hit Bret in the head with the chair and thus The Undertaker was disqualified.
And also he hit The Undertaker in the face with it too. Shawn Michaels had viciously snapped and he left both Bret & Undertaker laying. Michaels first hit Bret with Sweet Chin Music and then The Undertaker as well. Michaels looked at the belt and threw it at the body of The Undertaker turning the Heartbreak Kid heel!.
