 KANE WINS BACK THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE IN A BATTLE ROYAL
May 21. 2001
During the show, it was announced that Intercontinental Champion Triple H suffered his quad that would require surgery and that he'd be out for 6 to 8 months meaning that the Intercontinental Championship had to be vacated, but there would be a new champion guaranteed in a 20-Man Battle Royal. It would be the Big Red Machine Kane that captured the Intercontinental Title by last eliminating Edge & Christian. |

 STING CALLS OUT AUSTIN
May 21. 2001
Sting broke his silence for the first time and said that when WCW went out of business on March 26. 2001. He had to come to WrestleMania 17 to see the best of the best WWF Superstars, And he saw Stone Cold Steve Austin as WWF Champion. Sting said that the night after WrestleMania, he took The Rock down and injured him for good that the fans would never see The Rock again. And then at Judgment Day, he sent a message to Stone Cold by attacking 3 of the greats in the WWF and also made sure that Triple H would never return to the game again. Now he's at the big time, he says that he's already been the WCW Champion in WCW. But now that he's here in the WWF. He wants the WWF Championship and he wants Stone Cold Steve Austin to be a man and grow a set of balls to face him for the WWF Championship. Sting then announced that he would like to introduce a man that made it all possible to come to the WWF, it was the WCW Owner Shane McMahon!. McMahon came out and said that Sting was the first WCW Invader to come down. Shane then told his father Vince that the worst for Vince is almost yet to come because there would be more WCW invaders coming sooner than Vince thinks. Stone Cold came out and went face to face with Sting and told Sting that he accepted his challenge then laid into Sting's career saying that Sting was the man in WCW. But if Sting thinks he's going to be the big star in the WWF winning the WWF Championship. He's got another thing coming. Austin said that he would beat Sting & Shane McMahon and any WCW star that would come at King of The Ring. He would stop the Invasion. He doesn't care which WCW Superstar comes out at the King of The Ring. He's going to whip Sting's ass for the WWF!. Austin & Sting then exchanged blows with Shane hitting Austin with a low blow and that allowed Sting to hit him in the head with a baseball bat and then the WWF Championship belt busting The Rattlesnake wide open. The WWF Superstars came out and that caused Shane & Sting to retreat. |

During The Undertaker's match with Albert for the WWF European Championship. The Lights went out and when they returned. The Masked Assiliant entered the ring and attacked The Undertaker. The Undertaker fought back and took off the mask and revealed it to be SCOTT STEINER!. As Taker went to chokeslam Steiner. Steiner delivered a low blow and hit The Undertaker with a steel pipe and then choked him out with the Steiner Recliner. |

WWF Championship Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin D. Sting by DQ to retain the WWF Championship when WCW Champion Booker T appeared to attack Austin.
 The Dudley Boys captured the WWF Tag Team Titles once again by defeating Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit.
 Despite losing the WWF Tag Team Titles. Chris Jericho would still compete in the 2001 King of The Ring, he defeated Kurt Angle in the Quarterfinals, Rhyno in the Semifinals and he got himself a spot in the finals.
 And so too did the upcoming new star Rob Van Dam. He defeated Raven in the quarterfinals and beat Edge in the semi-finals, so the meeting would be set between Rob Van Dam & Chris Jericho.
 The Phenom wanted to take out all his frustrations and anger on Scott Steiner for his invasion of privacy and stalking.
 But it would be Steiner's friend Buff Bagwell that aided him to victory.
 Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho battled to determine who would be the 2001 King of The Ring in a back and forth hard battle.
 But in the end, Jericho locked on the Walls of Jericho and as hard as RVD fought. The Walls of Jericho was too much for Van Dam to overcome.
 After wrestling 4 matches. Chris Jericho became the 2001 King of The Ring and he would be owed a future title match in the near future.
 The second battle of WWF vs WCW commenced at the King of The Ring. Scott Steiner got a win over The Undertaker, but could Sting walk out the WWF Champion and drive a stake through WCW's heart, but Stone Cold Steve Austin would make sure that wouldn't happen.
 But just as soon as Austin was about to get the victory over Sting. WCW Champion Booker T appeared to attack The Rattlesnake causing a DQ win for Austin.
 Booker hit Austin in the head with a scissors kick and then threw him into the announce table injuring The Rattlesnake in the process.

Benoit announced that he would undergo Neck Surgery but when he came back and if Chris Jericho had won the WWF Championship.
