 JOHN CENA DEBUTS TO ACCEPT KURT ANGLE'S OPEN CHALLENGE

On an episode of SMACKDOWN. Kurt Angle came out and declared that he ought to be the poster boy for Ruthless Aggression, it's true, it's true and although he didn't win the WWE Championship at the King of The Ring. Everybody knows, he has that Ruthless Aggression, and yet no matter how many times of his accomplishments, they are unappreciative of his greatness. He's not the one that sucks. The fans do!. All they do is mock Kurt and make fun of him. Try to break his concentration, but no more because none of the fans can ruin Kurt Angle's mood. He's on a roll. And as a matter of fact tonight, he's in the mood to kick some ass and show them what Ruthless Aggression is all about. Infact, he's calling out anyone in the locker room that he's never faced before to come out and face Kurt Angle. Angle said that there are a lot of young, future and bright superstars and now is their chance to become a sensation just like him. Angle told them not to be scared, he would go easy on them. Music then hit as the commentators referred to him as John Cena. Angle picked up the microphone and told Cena who the hell he was. Cena replied that he was John Cena. Angle told Cena what was the one quality that Cena possesses that makes him think that he could walk out here and come out here to face the Very Best in the Business. Cena screamed "Ruthless Aggression" he then slapped Kurt and the match was underway. Cena put on an impressive performance in this match against the former WWE Champion and at one point had Angle on the ropes. But Angle used an athletic rollup pinfall victory defeating Cena. Cena may not have won the match, but he put on a great effort against the former WWE Champion. Cena looked for a handshake out of respect but Angle walked away from it. Backstage. Cena was congratulated by some of the SMACKDOWN Superstars, and then RAW's World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker arrived and shook hands with Cena telling Cena nice job!. |

 CHRISTOPHER NOWINSKI WINS THE HARDCORE TITLE OVER JEFF HARDY WITH HELP FROM THE UNDERTAKER, HARDY CHALLENGES UNDERTAKER AT VENGEANCE TO A LADDER MATCH!
July 1. 2002
Jeff Hardy defended the Hardcore Championship against Vampiro after his hard fought, valiant effort against The Undertaker in a non-title Hardcore Match. Many superstars interfered to try to take the WWE Hardcore Championship over Hardy, but Hardy fought them off. Raven. Spike Dudley. Crash Holly and SMACKDOWN's 3 Superstars Val Venis. The Big Bossman & Hardcore Holly all came in to try to take the title, but they were unsuccessful. The Undertaker appeared and cleared the ring and then delivered a Last Ride to Jeff Hardy on a Trashcan allowing Chris Nowinski to take advantage of the situation and win the Hardcore Championship. As The Undertaker left the ring. Hardy then beat up everyone with a ladder and then stood with a microphone in hand that last week The Undertaker got the better of him and beat his ass. But they weren't done at all. He wants a match at Vengeance with The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. And it wasn't going to be any kind of match. His way to beat The Undertaker, his match to beat The Undertaker is going to be a Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Title. Undertaker then nodded and said that he was going to kick Hardy's ass. |

At the beginning of SMACKDOWN. Billy & Chuck held an open challenge to anyone. Then Edge's music hit in the arena as Edge came out. Edge announced that he would challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Rico then said that Edge doesn't have a partner. Edge said that Rico, Billy & Chuck are right, Edge is challenging them for the SMACKDOWN Tag Team Titles later tonight with his partner Hulk Hogan in the main event. And in the main event, Edge & Hulk Hogan kept their promise as they won the SMACKDOWN Tag Team Championship on America's 226th Birthday. |

 STONE COLD GOES FACE TO FACE WITH BROCK LESNAR
July 4. 2002
During Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar's speech on Brock winning the 2002 King of The Ring. Stone Cold Steve Austin came down and said that he wanted to challenge the Beast Incarnate to a match at Vengeance. Brock then accepted telling Austin that he was in the wrong year, the wrong place and in the wrong time. After Austin's victory over Chris Benoit in an I Quit Match. Brock Lesnar came out to attack Austin and hit 2 F5s. |

For weeks on end. Promos featured the Animal known as Dave Batista. Batista made his debut on the RAW Brand and mercifully squashed Crash Holly in his debut match. |

 John Cena wanted a rematch against Kurt Angle and he got it under No Disqualifaction Rules after Angle kept badmouthing Cena saying that SMACKDOWN was no place for him except for RAW!

Were they able to defeat the]() But Cena would use Kurt's gold medals to his advantage and hit Angle in the face with them by pinning Angle and getting his first PPV Win!
 The Innovator of Violence took the WWE Hardcore Championship home to SMACKDOWN as he defeated Christopher Nowinski to capture the Hardcore Title.
 Everyone was anticipating for the debut of Rey Mysterio as he took on Chavo Guerrero and they did anticipate it with Rey Mysterio winning the match.
 Brock may have won the 2002 King of The Ring, but he would take on the former WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin in his road to the WWE Championship.
 Despite Austin using a Stone Cold Stunner to put Brock away. Brock dropped Austin cleanly by reversing a Stone Cold Stunner into a F5 getting the win for himself. But Brock wasn't satisfied!. Brock continued to beat the living hell out of Austin and delivered one more F5 sending him into the announce table.
 Triple H's true colors were revealed when he aided Kevin Nash & Scott Hall in attacking Booker T and Goldust in their Tag Team Championship Match with Triple H now being a part of the nWo!.
 But the nWo's night was not over as during a confrontation backstage between the SMACKDOWN Tag Champions & The RAW Tag Champions. Nash & Hall came out to cost Hogan & Edge the SMACKDOWN Tag Team Championship against Test & Lance Storm.
 After Chris Jericho had successfully retained the WWE Championship against The Big Show. He had a confrontation with Brock Lesnar!
 The Undertaker once again had a hard fought World Title Battle but this time he took on Jeff Hardy in a Ladder Match.
 Hardy fought his damn heart out against The Undertaker and even made a comeback against him.
 The end of the match came when Hardy hit Undertaker with a couple of chair shots and then nailed the Swanton Bomb off the top of the ladder. Hardy then climbed the ladder once more and almost had his hands on the belt, but The Undertaker rose to his feet and chokeslammed Hardy off the ladder and then soon after hit Hardy with the Last Ride and that allowed Undertaker to retain the World Title!.

 TRIPLE H TURNS ON SHAWN MICHAELS AND BECOMES THE NWO'S NEW LEADER

It seemed like Triple H. Shawn Michaels. Kevin Nash. Scott Hall & X-Pac would all reunite together as one. But instead Triple H grabbed Shawn Michaels and hit him with the pedigree with Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & X-Pac approving of it and Nash announced to a beaten down Shawn Michaels that Triple H was the newest leader of the nWo!. |

 RVD FACES UNDERTAKER AT SUMMERSLAM

Rob Van Dam won a Battle Royal Match to earn the right to face The Undertaker at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Championship. After, The Undertaker came in to try to sneak attack on RVD but Van Dam saw it coming and made the World Champion retreat out of the ring. |

 THE ROCK RETURNS TO SAVE HULK HOGAN & EDGE FROM AN nWo INVASION
July 25. 2002
On SMACKDOWN. RAW's Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & X-Pac sans leader Triple H all invaded the show to attack Hulk Hogan as Hulk Hogan was close on beating Chris Jericho to win his unprecented 12th WWE Championship and go on to possibly face Brock Lesnar at Summerslam for the title. But then the nWo all came out to attack Hogan & Jericho. Edge tried to make the save but he was beaten down as well. Then suddenly The Rock's music hit and for the first time in a month after his promo talking about the superstars wanting Ruthless Aggression or else getting the F out. The Rock ran down to help Edge & Hulk Hogan fight off the nWo!. The Rock then grabbed a microphone and said that since the nWo wanted to invade SMACKDOWN. Well for the first time if Stephanie McMahon would approve of this. Then it will be a first interpromotional match between SMACKDOWN vs RAW. But on the RAW Side, it would be Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & X-Pac taking on the SMACKDOWN Side of Hulk Hogan, Edge & The Rock!. Eric Bischoff's face then appeared on the titantron and said that there was no way the match wasn't going to be happening because if the SMACKDOWN Superstars were to defeat the RAW Superstars. Then RAW would beat SMACKDOWN in just 3 minutes so the match is not happening. Then Stephanie McMahon appeared on another split screen titantron and told Bischoff that at Summerslam it would be the nWo taking on The Rock, Edge & Hulk Hogan in the first ever RAW vs SMACKDOWN Interpromotional 6-Man Tag Team Match. |

 ERIC BISCHOFF AND STEPHANIE MCMAHON AGREE ON TRADE NEGOTIATIONS
July 29. 2002
On Monday Night RAW. Eric Bischoff invited Stephanie McMahon to call a truce with him on a split-screen interview. Stephanie agreed. The two talked about their relationship and how Eric announced that Stephanie betrayed him just before WrestleMania. He wanted to rule the world with Stephanie, because he would be a better owner than her father Vince ever was. Stephanie said that the reason SMACKDOWN is better than RAW is because Eric Bischoff had no permission to have the nWo invade the SMACKDOWN Building. Eric then announced that she wanted some of Stephanie's SMACKDOWN Superstars. Stephanie then replied telling Bischoff that she would do him one better. If Eric wanted some of Stephanie's SMACKDOWN Superstars, then she would have some of Eric's RAW Superstars. Bischoff then laughed telling Stephanie it wouldn't happen. Then another face appeared with Stephanie and it was Vince McMahon. Vince stated that it would be time to shake RAW & SMACKDOWN up again. So that means if anyone wants to leave RAW or SMACKDOWN. They can do so and go to the other brand. And that the trade negotiations would start the night after Summerslam. |
