So, after completing WWF/E (but that will need an update, as I'm stuck at April 2022) and WCW, ECW is my next rebooking project!
A bit of info below: - This starts from August 27th 1994, when ECW became Extreme Championship Wrestling and left the NWA, following the infamous Shane Douglas angle. Why am I not starting this in 1992? The schedule was quite irregular, a lot of stuff didn't even make tape until spring 1993 anyway and I can't do much with an Eastern Championship Wrestling that operates under the NWA - However, a lot of angles from 1994 are very important for the characters/future of ECW, so my first post will be focused on what's going on and who's on the roster - Schedule: I can't just rebook the PPVs only, because that would mean 1997. So I will also rebook the "major arena shows", the ones that were released in VHS. Of course, I might skip a few shows or add a few others along the way - Contracts: ECW only started offering exclusive contracts in 1997, when they got on PPVs. So, until then, I will keep a realistic approach with my roster: for instance, if Terry Funk skipped an ECW show because he was in Japan or Mexico I won't use him; however, if he had a night off or was wrestling for a very tiny indy, it's realistic that I could get him on the show for that night (unless he's not part of the roster anymore, of course) - Apart from what explained above, the usual rebooking rules apply - This is ECW! Expect wacky stipulations, several arena rematches, some bad wrestlers getting pushed, mixed tag matches, violent angles and more stuff I didn't do when I was rebooking WWE and WCW

Awesome! How realistic are we talking like until they sign with the big two?

Alright! I'm definitely specially interested in this and looking forward to the surprises you'll bring.
The vast majority (maybe all) or bad wrestler pushes in ECW made sense, so I'm expecting the same from you and sure you'll deliver. Is a Shah world title run on the checklist? 😁
Btw: shame you will only book from 1994 onwards. I was really looking forward to see Larry Winters and Tony Stetson's tag title reign rebooked... (Jk)

Awesome! How realistic are we talking like until they sign with the big two? Not even that, the rule only applies to the ECW regulars that skip a date and were not wrestling anywhere else on that given night. I am not signing freelancers that never worked for ECW When the WWF relationship kicks in, I might decide that I want a wrestler over another, for example (but still realistically, I am not swapping Lawler with Shawn Michaels in 1997 lol). But we'll get there...

Most of the appeal of sites like this is to post alternate timeline's and histories that are different what we have.

I don't know, I simply like it more that way I think. As you said, it's also quite unique, if compared to all the "fantasy scenarios" I guess, still the main appeal for me at least is the alternate histories and what could have beens that these threads produced. I'd like to play the game myself, even tried to download it but it wouldn't work.

So, our timeline starts on August 27th 1994. I am sure the NWA board had to co-sign the tournament participants/results, so I am not changing anything
ECW-NWA World Title Tournament 27.08.1994 Philadelphia, PA
1. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarter Final: Too Cold Scorpio def. Chris Benoit 2. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarter Final: 911 (w/ Paul E. Dangerously) def. Borne Again 3. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarter Final: Dean Malenko def. Osamu Nishimura 4. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Quarter Final: Shane Douglas def. The Tazmaniac 5. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi Final: Too Cold Scorpio def. 911 by CO 6. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi Final: Shane Douglas def. Dean Malenko 7. ECW Tag Team Titles: Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck def. The Public Enemy (c) 8. NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament Final: Shane Douglas def. Too Cold Scorpio (decision match)
- After winning the tournament for the NWA World Heavyweight Title, Shane Douglas does what he did in real life: he throws the belt on the mat and declares himself the first ECW World Heavyweight Champion ever (he already was the ECW Heavyweight Champion, so he just added the "World Title dimension" to the belt)
- On the following Hardcore TV, on August 30th, ECW president Tod Gordon confirms that ECW is now Extreme (not Eastern) Championship Wrestling and that they are not part of the NWA anymore, but they are their own extreme company - As ECW is now "extreme", Gordon announces a few changes: countouts will now be decided at a count of 20, not 10, to make them more difficult and encourage ringside brawls. Also, disqualifications are now limited and only happening in these cases: 1) attacking the referee, so this protects the officials from anarchy; 2) outside interference, which in theory allows managers to interfere, as they are allowed to be there; 3) excessive use of "foreign weapons", which means a lot of weapons can be used (the chair the announcer sits on, the ring bell, a rope that could be hanging around, Sandman's cane etc.; however, this stops somebody from bringing a hammer or a gun at ringside, for example (unless the referee doesn't see it...). I think this rule is necessary and was part of my frustration with ECW, because you don't want to see DQs, but at the same time you can't allow everything in one match and then disqualify somebody the next time. Keeping it realistic, during a match a few items would be there, but there would be no ladders, barbed wires etc., unless this IS a ladder or a barbed wire match and they have a reason to be there. Any ECW match is worked under those rules and is a regular ECW match, where getting DQed is quite hard; but then you have specific weapon matches (so the weapon is allowed at ringside), street fights (so there is no countout), falls count anywhere (so the pinfalls can happen anywhere), etc. - So, on the same show, Tod Gordon relinquishes all the "Eastern titles", to give the current champions the new "Extreme belts". Shane Douglas accepts the ECW World Heavyweight Title, while Mikey Whipwreck and Cactus Jack before the ECW World Tag Team Champions. However, Jason (keeping his "snob model" character) is not happy about the whole company being "extreme" now, as this could ruin his hair or his clothes. As a result, Tod Gordon strips him of the TV Title and books a tournament for the ECW World Television Title. The reason for this is that Jason was a terrible wrestler, there is no need to keep the belt on him and link him to the new ECW. He can stay as a manager though
So, this is the beginning of our story. The next post will be a recap of the characters and then the shows start next week
