In 2006, WWE decided to take a bold step by reviving Extreme Championship Wrestling, a cult-favourite promotion known for its hardcore, edgy style. The decision to relaunch ECW stemmed from WWE's desire to tap into the nostalgia and appeal of the rebellious brand. Fans had fond memories of ECW's chaotic past, and the company saw an opportunity to capitalize on this fervour while attracting new audiences.
The relaunch was announced with a twist - WWE aimed to present ECW as a separate third brand alongside Raw and SmackDown, offering an alternative to the traditional sports entertainment format. The ECW revival also included the partnership with the Sci-Fi network, which added a touch of supernatural elements to the show, adding an extra layer of intrigue. ECW One Night Stand 2006 Results

The event proved that the ECW spirit was still alive and that there was a demand for more hardcore, extreme wrestling. The biggest shock coming away from the PPV was ECW favourite Rob Van Dam successfully cashing in his Money In The Bank contract to win his first ever WWE Championship. The brand of extreme now is launched, holding the biggest prize in sports entertainment. Don't miss the action, only on Sci-Fi!

RULES I am a long time fantasy booker, and this is my return to writing after quite some time. I wanted to do the ECW relaunch, under certain conditions and with different restrictions.
- I can only use workers who appeared on One Night Stand 1, 2 or WWECW.
- If I choose to keep RVD & Sabu (Ignoring the legal trouble), I cannot then call up CM Punk or Bobby Lashley.
- At ECW's launch, RVD is WWE Champion, heavily involved in RAW storylines, while Kurt Angle is in a similar situation. Like real life, I can use some of the RAW superstars until Vengeance.
- This is ECW on Sci-Fi - with the Sci-Fi Network having their own say. Therefore, many characters on the show must have a sci-fi based gimmick, and all workers must have a gimmick of some kind.
- I cannot use any PPVs, with the exception of December 2 Dismember and One Night Stand 2007
- All booking will be completed on EWR

Interested to see how this goes. Decent time period to work with. I guess ECW ran until like 2010 or something in the end so should give you a fairly decent amount of people to work with actually.

The rules may seem crippling, but One Night Stand 2005 had a lot of ECW Originals in there, not to mention most WWE heels. It can be fun to book with those rules.
Questions: - I'm assuming "extremist" is too generic to be considered a gimmick, so guys like Dreamer, Credible or maybe Balls must be repackaged, right? - Can you sign guys before the date they appeared in ECW? Like Christian, William Regal and... uhm... Ezekiel Jackson before 2009?
Predictions: - You'll keep RVD but ditch Sabu for CM Punk; - Little Spike Dudley will be brought in as a reptilian believer due to the effect of his own initials; - Heyman wanted Heidenreich to be an ice-preserved Nazi soldier, so... hear me out! What if Roadkill... nah, nevermind!

These are some tough rules but it should make it an interesting save. The Scifi influence especially brings up some interesting possibilities. Pirate Paul Burchill. I would love a Mordecai appearance.

ECW on Sci-Fi #1: "Pilot" Week 2, July 2006
Kurt Angle vs Balls Mahoney ECW's brand new relaunch on Sci-Fi! kicked off with a match that saw a WWE legend in the making facing off against a well-known ECW name. The ECW faithful originally fully supported Balls Mahoney (and evidenced by the chants for "Balls! Balls! Balls!" At the chair-wielding extremist). This support did not last long as the Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle exploded at the bell with a new style and attitude. The "Wrestling Machine" destroyed Balls Mahoney in quick time, having avoided two wild chair shots and countered with multiple German suplexes. Angle smashed Mahoney with ferocious strikes, and followed up with an intense grapevine Ankle Lock for the emphatic victory on the first episode of ECW on Sci-Fi! Joey Styles and Taz spent the match reacting to Kurt Angle's new attitude - and it begged the question as to what would happen when Angle faced off with rival Randy Orton at Vengeance in just two weeks time!
>>A quick video package highlighting some of the results from One Night Stand 2006, especially highlighting WWE Champion Rob Van Dam's incredible victory. ECW then followed this up with another highlight of their revived brand: new characters. A B-movie quality video was then played, depicting Ariel, a gothic witch reading Tarot cards. "Behold! We cast our gaze into the cards, we learn what fate befalls us. Doubt not the prophecies!" She threw down a sequence of cards as the video quickly changed. A big man wearing a black trenchcoat over an expensive suit. The figure walked down a dark alleyway on a crisp night, as Ariel's voice carried a chill warning over the scene. "When you think you're safe .. cast your eyes into the darkness; and you will find your truest of fears. Abandon your faith in myth and legend. Nothing will stop him." The tarot reader's tantalizing voice predicted the man would come to take the throne of ECW and rule eternally. A dark pall cast the man's face in shadow, pierced only by the ominous red glowing eyes. Ariel concluded: "So sayeth the Spirits; so it shall come to pass. Darkness comes. Torment comes. Thorn... is coming". The video ended with the last three words etched in crimson, droplets of blood slowly bleeding off: Thorn is coming. >>The ECW crowd went wild for the next segment as Paul Heyman led WWE Champion Rob Van Dam to the ring! Heyman initially gave a passionate rant on the resurrection of ECW - this new show that would focus on the violence, the drama, that would bring extreme back to the hearts and minds of the wrestling world! He then congratulated Rob Van Dam on his victory, proclaiming the new WWE Champion as the greatest prodigy to ever work for ECW. RVD echoed Heyman's thoughts, albeit with a stoner's enthusiasm - he loves the brand and will use this huge platform he has representing WWE in the media to represent ECW! Heyman moved on to discuss the future of ECW - but this was cut short when a figure wearing a dark motorcycle helmet speared RVD in the middle of the ring! Edge, RVD's opponent at Vengeance, received boos from the rabid crowd as he stood in the middle of the ring, a shit-eating grin slapped across his face. The ultimate opportunist had done it before, and he would do it again! He's already proven he's extreme, and after being invited as a special guest to the ECW on Sci-Fi premier, Edge left his mark. True to form, the number one contender did not stick around to face any consequences - Edge hopped the barrier and split through the crowd - that is, until he walked right into John Cena! The former WWE champion had swore to be here tonight, and the crowd vocally announced their displeasure. Cena stopped Edge from leaving, and tossed the number one contender back into the ring - allowing RVD to finally get his hands on him. RVD lit the Canadian up with his signature kicks, then crushed Edge with the five star frog splash! The WWE Champion wasn't done though - he invited John Cena into the ring to fight as well! After taking a few moments to ponder his decision, Cena agreed and entered the ring, squaring up to the WWE champion. While tension was high, neither man could throw a punch before the music of Big Show hit! The giant athlete headed to the ring in a business suit and a scowl on his face. While he had a microphone he said nothing at all - instead dropping it and surprise attacking both Cena and RVD! With Edge slowly recovered, Heyman was left watching furious as a flood of security hit the ring and ringside area to secure the champion, the newcomer Big Show and John Cena. Edge had managed to escape into the crowd before security could catch him. The camera zoomed up to Paul Heyman, who spat with anger directed at the Big Show: "what were you thinking?! Not like this Paul, you've ruined the show damn it!"
>>From chaos to something else entirely, the WWECW fans were treated to a different kind of exhibition. Sultry music played as a young and very attractive woman danced on the ramp, utilising a chair. She slowly stripped off layers of clothing, each movement and action precise in its intent. The spotlight was on her, and both the crowd and commentary team sat in a respectful silence, enjoying the showcase in front of them. The young woman struggled to undo her bra after a few awkward moments, but then wrapped up the dance. The crowd gave a polite applause, until she was handed a microphone. "My name is Kelly and I'm an exhibitionist! Nothing gets me hotter than putting on a show… and next week I will bare... It... All!" This got a much more positive reaction from the crowd as Joey Styles and Taz commanded all viewers to tune in next week!
Tag Team Match: Stevie Richards & Al Snow vs The FBI (Little Guido & Tony Mamaluke) w/Trinity The next match showcased some veterans of the ECW of old, in the form of a strange team made up of stranger competitors: Stevie Richards and Al Snow. While both now somewhat recognisable to the WWE crowd, the two men had different mannerisms and attitudes - Al Snow of course gaining full support from the crowd as they also echoed the fact that they too wanted Head. Snow paraded the mannequin around, his best friend on display. Stevie Richards on the other hand seemed stressed, anxious - something happened recently to throw him off. Prior to the match Stevie grabbed a microphone, but this was silenced as soon as he started speaking. He didn't get a second chance to speak as The FBI showed up! After being primed by Kelly's performance, Trinity received the biggest reaction compared to the competitors in the match! The match went back and forth with The FBI's teamwork clearly giving them a superior advantage - but it was the cheating that really made the difference. Snow was able to rally the crowd and conduct a comeback - but fell victim to a huge top rope diving hurricanrana from Trinity! Little Guido put Snow away with the Sicilian Slice, and the FBI celebrated their victory in the ring! Stevie meanwhile fumed at ringside, shouting "it's a fix!" Taz attempted to acknowledge Stevie, but strangely went silent (almost like he was cut off by the voice in his ear).
>>The scene then cut to another ECW Original Justin Credible - yet he was not there for an interview, rather he attended a dark table set up somewhere in the arena. A crystal ball took center place, surrounded by other occult-like objects. Sat there was Ariel; clad in gothic leather, carefully holding a large deck of tarot cards. Credible had agreed a reading, a laugh accompanying this - it was clear he did not take it seriously; and dark words of warning from the tarot reader chastised the former champion over this attitude. She laid one card, then another, then a final one: "The Knight, inverted - a dark spectre of the future looms over you; days of glory long since dead. The Mists - you are being constricted by supernatural forces far beyond the reach of redemption you could seek yourself. And finally: The Blade - you will soon have to face your fears and a difficult choice to be made." Credible initially laughed this off, but Ariel's gaze was unwavering. "So sayeth the Spirits, so it shall come to pass". Credible walked off as Ariel laid down a final card, a smirk creeping across her face. "The Maiden. This card is not for him, but instead for her. How cruel can fate be".
Three Way Dance - Extreme Rules Match: Sabu Vs Tommy Dreamer Vs The Sandman An explosive main event was booked in a bid to introduce new fans to the style of "classic ECW" and depending on their tastes they were not disappointed. Support was split between all three men as the raucous crowd demanded blood and violence - cheering on each time this was delivered. Tommy Dreamer was no stranger to facing overwhelming odds, nor was the brunt of a Singapore cane a unique experience for the extremist. The man who epitomizes the lifeblood of ECW persevered through the blood and the pain. The Sandman was clearly a fan favourite - his antics so antithesis from the recent product of WWE - his unashamed drinking, violent brawling and a cigarette tucked behind his ear that did not move for the entire match. It was clear he wasn't a professional wrestler - he was a drunken brawler, and the crowd loved it. The final extremist was Sabu - an iconic figure to say the least. With his body covered head to toe in brutal scars, the warrior showed how he'd earned the nickname "homicidal, suicidal, genocidal". As the match wore on, Sabu acquiesced with the crowd's demand for tables - another dangerous element introduced into the match. Tommy Dreamer was effectively taken out of the final decision, and in fact neutralised from participating in the end of the match entirely. While Dreamer felt poised to win, two men appeared from the crowd and dragged him out of the ring, to the boos of the crowd. Both men were in black riot gear, almost body armour, and put the boots to Dreamer before dragging him over to the announcers table. Taz identified one man as Test - a WWE mainstay, now drafted to the extreme brand. He was supported by another newcomer identified as Knox. The duo hit a double powerbomb, which violently smashed Dreamer through the table! The commentary team were at a loss to explain it (out side of OHMYGAWD!) Meanwhile in the ring, Sabu had carefully dodged the wild swings from the Sandman; and ultimately won the first main event of the new ECW, utilising a chair-assisted Arabian facebuster from the top rope through a table! The crowd chanted along as Sabu picked up the big victory - and ECW came to a close with a camera panning over the wasteland left after the bout.
News & Notes >Reports backstage is that officials were very positive on the debut show of ECW on Sci-Fi. The crowd's very strong reactions to characters and events came across well on TV, and it is believed that the show established a strong foundation for ECW moving forward. >Several of the "ECW Originals" received praise, particularly Sabu, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards. While the main event was not typical of weekly WWE programming; it was felt that this was a "treat" to fans, albeit officials are currently unsure on the balance being struck between the extreme matches and more "standard" matches. >The show featured several new characters being established, two notably being Thorn and Ariel. As part of the deal with The Sci-Fi Network, ECW must feature supernatural characters and storylines - the vampire and tarot reader duo starting this off. Expect other characters to be portrayed in a similar style in future as it is a specific requirement from the Sci-Fi Network. >With RAW promoting Vengeance in two weeks it is expected that ECW will also be featured on the show, with RVD set to defend the WWE Championship against Edge, and as announced on WWE.com/ECW, Kurt Angle will take on Randy Orton in a rematch.
Announced For Next Week: >ECW On Sci-Fi will host a blockbuster main event as WWE Champion Rob Van Dam teams up with Sabu to face RAW's Edge and Randy Orton! >Paul Heyman will address The Big Show's actions! >Kelly will perform her dance exposé, and strip entirely nude! >ECW Originals will clash as Al Snow faces Balls Mahoney! Kurt Angle will be in action! And more!

ECW on Sci-Fi! #2: "Throw Down The Gauntlet" Week 3, July 2006 >>The extreme crowd of ECW cheered when welcomed by Joey Styles and Taz at ringside, but before they could run down tonight's card Tommy Dreamer took to the ring to open the show. The crowd were respectful of the ECW icon - a man who'd given his blood, sweat and tears all for the love of the brand. They listened when he talked and he had one thing on his mind - revenge. Dreamer cued a video showing the end of last week's show - while he was positioned to pick up a victory in the first ever main event of ECW on Sci-Fi, he was taken out of the match by two men: Test and Knox. Both, Dreamer stated, newcomers to ECW. Well unlike RAW or SmackDown, extremists settle issues with their fists - and Dreamer demanded the duo come out to face their punishment! A video played instead that highlighted Test and Knox - two bigger, powerful men both in excellent shape. But the voice over explained they were known as the Crimson Command, soldiers of fortune that excel in destruction. The video revealed why they had come to ECW: they had a contract to take out Tommy Dreamer! While the video is about to go on to explain more, it immediately cut off - Test and Knox appeared at ringside and blindsided Dreamer! The Crimson Command, appearing in riot squad like tactical gear, quickly double teamed Dreamer - only stopping at the music of The Sandman! The drunken, Singapore cane wielding extremist made his way through the crowd too and rushed the ring. The Crimson Command decided on a tactical retreat, regrouping at the ramp as Sandman helped Dreamer back up. The two shared several beers after Dreamer made a challenge to the Crimson Command - an Extreme Rules tag team match next week!
Kurt Angle Vs Justin Credible For the second week in a row, the first match featured on ECW on Sci-Fi was yet another showcase of the Wrestling Machine - Kurt Angle. The Olympic medallist brought a real intensity (it's damn real), each strike punishing and every suplex destructive. While the commentary team originally discussed Justin Credible being distracted from the warning he received last week, this was quickly quietened - not the reason that the ECW original ultimate lost the quick match. Once Angle lowered his straps (to show he means business), the wrestling machine then put that moniker to the test as he tossed Credible overhead again and again. The crowd initially started counting the number of suplexes, but this morphed into a chant of "Suplex City!" Angle mercifully put Credible out of his misery, before grabbing the microphone. He apologised in advance to the fans purchasing Vengeance - they won't see a match of the year caliber contest at the PPV. Instead, Angle vowed to rip The Legend Killer apart. Then he was coming for the rest of ECW. >>The cameras followed Paul Heyman (complete with several WWE-branded security personnel) backstage as he hunted for The Big Show. The men slowly surrounded the giant, careful to note the explosive temper and unpredictability - Big Show did not seem worried about the security, which told Heyman all he needed to know about the former world champion's disposition. Heyman demanded answers for last week - when Big Show attacked WWE Champion Rob Van Dam and John Cena last week. Show refused to give a straight answer, but instead talked about ECW. He was initially against joining the brand, and loathed the thought of working for Heyman again. Heyman snapped at Show, claiming it he was going to be here then he would compete - a statement Big Show ignored. Not that the discussion could continue as Stevie Richards surprisingly showed up on the scene, weary of both Heyman and the security guards. Richards very quickly attempted to build rapport with the large athlete: "we've always been pals right? Remember Sunday Night Heat? That was fun! So anyway…". Two important points came out of Stevie's pitch, both of which grabbed the attention of Big Show - number one, this was ECW. That represented freedom, so Big Show could be whomever he wanted (or allegedly supposed to, seems like Stevie didn't quite believe it himself as he cast bitter looks at the silent Heyman). But second, something was afoot in ECW. Stevie ranted about a "conspiracy" and told Big Show that he should "trust no one" - leading to Richard's plea: he wanted Big Show to watch his back at ringside. Big Show surprised both Richards and Heyman when he agreed to be in the paranoid worker's corner and walked off with him, a smug remark to Heyman leaving the authority figure frustrated. Tony Mamaluke w/Little Guido & Trinity Vs Stevie Richards w/The Big Show It's fair to say that Stevie Richards found his confidence significantly inflated as the Big Show accompanied him to the ring, a scowl affixed on the giant's face. The FBI understood the threat at ringside, as Guido and Trinity buzzed around like gnats, worried about what action Big Show would take. Tony Mamaluke outwrestled Richards at the beginning the match, wearing Richards down with several flashy moves. Richards was able to slow the contest down a bit, but found himself falling over the top rope after a huge superkick was dodged. While at ringside Guido moved in, only to be scared off by Big Show! Show lifted Richards by the tights with one hand and rolled him back into the ring, but then climbed into the ring himself. While the referee protested, Mamaluke also questioned this - until he received a huge chokeslam from Big Show! Guido met the same fate, and seeing her allies in trouble, Trinity quickly flew from the top rope! Her diving hurricanrana was stopped as Big Show powerbombed Trinity hard to the mat, gaining himself a loud volume of boos in the process. Richards was declared the loser of the match by DQ and he gruffly questioned Big Show why. While he got no answer from the giant, another man did - Paul Heyman, accompanied by a flock of security guards (all wearing WWE branded shirts). Heyman threatened to suspend Big Show on the spot if he didn't get under control. The giant replied: "ECW means I'm free to be who I really am right? Well I'll finally show you who I really am". With a hint of malice in his voice, Big Show decided to leave - the damage now done - and exited to a chorus of boos from the rambunctious crowd.
>>But what turned the fans around was a treat - they were always happy at the appearance of Ariel, the gothic tarot reader. She sat at her table again with that sly look across her face. She invited her guest to step forward - and a clearly drunk Sandman. Apparently he had a routine after appearing in the ring - drinking beer. Ariel invited Sandman to step forward for a reading, but started throwing down her cards before he could respond. "The Jester - you have squandered much of your potential, choosing vice instead of virtue. The Betrayal - you have had your familial bonds cut and the taste of betrayal lingers in your blood. The Crown, inverted. You have a decision to make - one which will shape your future. The real question - how far would you go for what you believe?" Sandman's snort of derision received a calm reaction from the tarot reader, as did his drunken rambling where he decried her a "spooky hussy bitch" before laughing and walking off. Appearing from the shadows, a sinister look crossed the fanged face of Thorn, his red eyes showing an internal evil. He slowly stalked forward intent on following Sandman to deliver punishment, until Ariel stopped the vampire. "Not yet, my dear. His future is undecided - there are other souls first". Neither looked satisfied with the plan, but a growl from Thorn showed his agreement.
Al Snow Vs Balls Mahoney The ECW crowd had a lot of fun throughout this match - not for the competition itself, but rather the ability to have duelling chants of "Head!" And "Balls!". This was of course played up to the fullest by the ECW veterans. Good stuff. Snow showed off several flashy moves in an attempt to secure the pinfall, but his technical prowess hit a brick wall in the form of Balls Mahoney's smash-mouth-literally-smashing-Snow's-mouth style. While neither competitor seemed to notice much during the contest, another new ECW Extremist appeared on top of the ramp, holding a huge sign for several minutes before he then disappeared again. Shannon Moore; complete with a new look mixing gothic and punk, sporting a large mohawk. His sign read: "QUESTION AUTHORITY". The end of the match came when Mahoney was able to stick his knees up, preventing an Al Snow Moonsault, and crushed his opponent with the Nutcracker Suite. It seems "Balls" prevailed over "Head", but the victory wasn't the only victory that the rocker seemed to win. Surprisingly, Ariel appeared at ringside - giving a sultry-come-hither gesture to tonight's victor. Ariel bit her lip before giving Balls a peck on the cheek - and leading him away by the hand, as Mahoney got a big cheer from the crowd.
>>No one else on the ECW roster got a cheer quite like Kelly when she eagerly ascended to her stage ready to fulfill her vow from last week. She grabbed the microphone once again: "My name is Kelly and I'm an exhibitionist! And as a treat to all of you, I'm going to take of all… my… clothes." The crowd were muted in a silent appreciation as Kelly danced, eager to please. As her routine went on and clothes came off, Kelly got to what could be a final tease; but was immediately covered up by a towel, sporting the flag of Quebec. A man covered Kelly up and escorted her backstage, speaking down to her in French. Kelly humbled followed without word, but a clear look of disappointment across her face. While not noted by the commentary team, the discerning viewer would recognise the man as Rene Dupree, who last appeared on SmackDown.
>>John Cena returned to ECW once again, the crowd vocal in their punishment of his appearance. As Cena walked to the ring a video then played recapping what happened on last night's RAW: Ariel made her introduction to the wider WWE world as she accompanied Balls Mahoney at ringside - the extremist ultimately lost an interpromotional match against Cena, but the video focused on the events following the bout: John Cena was attacked by the Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal Sabu! The extremist attacked Cena with a chair, then made his point with another extreme action. Sabu springboarded from the top rope outside of the ring, smashing John Cena through the announcers table! The video ended as Cena got in the ring, ready to address last night. Cena addressed the ECW audience - and acknowledged that he was not beloved in this ring compared to RAW. He stated he's found that ECW as a whole - between the fans, the commentary and the superstars - as one reject the way he does business. But he's here to never give up, here to fight. Cena laid out three challenges - first he wanted Sabu one on one, then he'd cut the giant Big Show down to size. And finally he vowed to reclaim his WWE Championship from Rob Van Dam! Paul Heyman interrupted (clearly looking stressed from the previous events tonight) and accepted on Sabu's behalf! Cena said he didn't care what match type, he's a man that will look a good ass kicking in the face. Cena told Heyman to bring anyone - hell, bring everyone! Heyman announced the match would take place at Vengeance but it would be an Extreme Lumberjack match! The whole ECW was coming to Vengeance and Heyman warned Cena to watch his back. Main Event - Tag Team Match Rob Van Dam & Sabu Vs Randy Orton & Edge w/Lita ECW on Sci-Fi's main event featured a marquee tag team match as Paul Heyman had invited RAW's Randy Orton and Edge as special guests, ahead of their respective matches against ECW superstars at Vengeance. The crowd were electric for WWE Champion Rob Van Dam; and cheered on each of his hard hitting strikes. The Legend Killer took control of the match as quickly as he could and it was clear his style gelled with his partner Edge very well - they broke rules as much as they could to gain control. Another part of their strategy was to isolate Sabu, but as the match wore on the RAW superstars found that Sabu seemed to absorb the pain - and deliver it back tenfold. The match reached a higher octane as the ECW Extremists took control with a stunning array of aerial moves, enough to overwhelm the two former WWE Champions. After conferring with Lita at ringside, Edge decided against expending more energy ahead of his championship match at Vengeance and the rated R duo gave up during the match and escaped through the crowd! Knowing he was alone, Orton went into berserker mode, like a viper he struck anything that moved and dished out several RKOs! Try as he might though, Orton found himself overwhelmed, and the match ended with a big Five Star Frog Splash! Rob Van Dam grabbed the microphone after the bout and gave a warning to Edge - there would be no escape at Vengeance! But Paul Heyman then made his third appearance on the programme, leading most of the ECW roster out to ringside (with the exceptions of Big Show, Thorn and Ariel). Heyman proclaimed that ECW had declared independence from the WWE empire and this would be proven when Rob Van Dam once again puts down. RAW's challengers! Heyman vowed that each Extremist would be at Vengeance to offset the threats from RAW and proclaimed that at the end of the night it would be ECW that reigns supreme! The crowd joined him in an "ECDUB! ECDUB! ECDUB!" chant as the show came to an end.
Announced for Next Week: >>ECW is sure to be explosive after the fall out from Vengeance! We will see appearances from WWE Champion Rob Van Dam, Sabu and Kurt Angle! >>Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman will team up in an Extreme Rules tag team match, facing The Crimson Command: Test & Knox! Will Tommy Dreamer discover who has put a bounty on his head? >>Ariel has informed officials that the mysterious Thorn will make his in-ring debut!

ECW on Sci-Fi #3: "Revenge" Week 4, July 2006
>>ECW's cold open depicted the events that took place at Vengeance, then on last night's RAW. The first match at the PPV had RAW's Randy Orton facing off against ECW's Kurt Angle - and no one could have predicted what happened. Randy Orton did not manage to get a single effective strike or grapple during the quick contest, but rather Kurt Angle suplexed him around the ring non stop. The official match time ended in just over a minute - a minute that Angle looked intense for the entire time. Next up on the recap was the chaotic brawl that was John Cena Vs Sabu. Superstars from RAW and Extremists from ECW made up the lumberjacks in a powder keg that took little to light. John Cena was ultimately victorious over Sabu, but both men clearly left that night with more scars. The big news to come out of Vengeance was Rob Van Dam losing his recently won WWE Championship! The dastardly Edge wound up victorious after interference from The Big Show, who chokeslammed RVD. Last night on RAW, Rob Van Dam told the live crowd that on ECW he would be invoking his rematch clause - and promised Edge wouldn't leave the building with the belt! Tonight's main event of Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman Vs The Crimson Command was moved to earlier in the show and it was announced that The Big Show was banned from the building tonight!
Justin Credible vs Thorn w/Ariel ECW Original Stevie Richards came out to the ring, being billed as a competitor in the first match of the evening. However as he waited in the ring, the referee received word through their earpiece, and communicated this news to Stevie and the ring announcer. The news was shared immediately: due to time constraints, the next match had been cancelled! Richards fumed in the ring, shouting at everyone, as the wrestlers started to come out for the next match. Richards angrily stomped up the ramp, ready to do who knows what, until he came face to face with Ariel. Stevie stopped in his tracks and had flashback - a glimpse of a memory, or dream - which was Ariel laughing at an abandoned fairground, her eyes fully black and tarot cards levitating around her. Stevie snapped back, slowly turned up the ramp - not once taking his eyes off of the tarot reading witch as he headed to the back. What the hell was happening?! The vampire Thorn appeared cold and calculating, the only emotion was that if Ariel, radiating at his side. Justin Credible was suitability freaked out, the commentators having described that Credible was distracted by nightmares of this moment for weeks now. The Extremist knew he had to fight so obtained himself a steel chair, placing it between himself and the vampire as he struck. While Credible did manage to connect with several strikes through the contest, including a superkick that nearly cracked a fang, the former ECW champion stood no chance. Thorn toyed with Credible like prey throughout the match and planted him with the Original Sin for the three count. Following the match the crowd watched in an eerie silence as Thorn positioned Credible - then bit into his neck! Credible initially tried to resit then collapsed. Ariel laughed as she left a tarot card upside down across the bloody Credible's body: The Knight.
>>ECW on Sci-Fi next transported the viewers to a stuffy old office, paperwork laying around and a huge board on the wall containing a map of America, with various coloured pins in different cities. A disheveled looking man in a crumpled suit sat at a desk, a weary look on his face, as he poured himself a glass of scotch. Matt Striker tossed down another letter he'd just read - "final notice". How many of them had he had recently? The phone rang, causing him to get a moment of excitement only for him to ignore it - creditors called all the time after all. He let it go to the answer machine: "You've reached the offices of Striker Investigations, private investigators. We are unable to take your call at the moment, please leave your name, number and nature of your enquiry after the beep and we will return your call as soon as possible". Striker sipped his scotch somewhat intrigued as he listened to the frantic message. Stevie Richards (without leaving his name) ranted to the machine about a conspiracy in ECW, about a target on his back, and some sort of gangstalking situation that couldn't quite be heard. Stevie also warned that there was now a bonafide witch cursing people and a goddamn vampire, before abruptly hanging up. Striker waited a moment, considering. He then downed the rest of his scotch and made a call: "Preacher, it's Matt from Striker Investigations. We've got a new case, one you'll be interested in. Call me back when you can, we're getting back into the wrestling business!". Striker poured himself another scotch as he went up to the map and out another pin in a city: Philadelphia.
Tag Team Match - Extreme Rules Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman Vs The Crimson Command (Test & Knox) Joey Styles caught viewers up about the events across the last two weeks concerning Tommy Dreamer. He was attacked during the ECW On Sci-Fi Premier by Test & Knox (Mike Knox); the following week the duo identified themselves as mercenaries as part of The Crimson Command company. They were here to collect a bounty someone placed on Tommy Dreamer! The lifeblood of ECW demanded answers, and expressed the questions in the only way he could: through violence. The Sandman had joined in the fight as a favor to his long time friend, but the smile across his face for every swing of the cane betrayed his other motive: Getting paid to get drunk and beat up fools. Test and Knox bounced back in a big way, with coordinated, preplanned double team attacks. This strategy allowed them to turn the tide of the battle, their combat training now shining through.
The Prince Of Punk Shannon Moore once again appeared on stage, briefly, for his message to be heard. His alternative punk rock look clearly stood out and drew attention to his sign, this one reading: "RESIST OR SERVE". Both mercenaries proved to have a mean streak as they utilized every weapon they could to put down the extremists. But Sandman was unmatched with a Singapore Cane, and his machine gun like strikes allowed him to open up some room - but Sandman ultimately fell victim to a chokebomb through a table from Knox, losing the match for his team to the newcomer. Following the match the Command allowed Dreamer to slowly come to his feet, only to crush his head with a double big boot, knocking Dreamer out completely. Test grabbed the microphone and said they considered the contract collected! Test then spat on the fallen beaten and bloodied Dreamer in clear disrespect.
>>The attention turned to the stage, more specifically Kelly as she started to perform her expose. It seemed that she was more confident as she strut her stuff, this time forgoing a chair during her dance. As promised Kelly tossed her bra off but once again before she could turn around fully she was covered up by Rene Dupree. Kelly started to argue back with him, but he snapped at her, then whispered several things in her ear. Kelly looked dejected and complied. Dupree gave her a t-shirt to put on - it was Dupree's new shirt, available at wweshop.com/ECW - and Kelly completed her dance. The big differences were the baggy t-shirt covering everything up, and this time Kelly's attention was focused all on Dupree. The crowd boo'd as she finished, Kelly looked confused. "Did I do a bad job?" Dupree whispered his snake-like words into her ear, quietening her down. Rene Dupree w/Kelly Vs Kurt Angle While Kurt Angle was ready and willing to fight, Rene Dupree apparently needed a little time to do two things. Over the microphone he introduced himself as a refined man of culture, representing the true grappling arts in this chic, underground club. And second, he had some rules for Kelly if she was to appear with him - that is, if she still wanted to come to his chateaux in the Swiss Alps! Dupree said he was fine with Kelly being an exhibitionist - but only in front of him. All of this, wrapped up in a french accent and seasoned with arrogant overtones made for a meal the crowd did not like - and the chants of "suplex city" were given freely as the Wrestling Machine ragdolled Dupree around the ring. Dupree rolled to ringside to take a break (which was the justification for actually sorting Kelly's t-shirt, after she'd wrapped it up in a knot. Can't have that), but the tenacious Angle pressed the assault. A big Angle Slam put Dupree down for the three count! Kelly helped Dupree to the back, the whole time apologizing, while Dupree shouted at her in French .
>>It was tough to tell what was on Balls Mahoney's mind exactly, but at first glance his situation wasn't great. The violent extremist was chained to a wall, his hair covering his face knotted in mats of what could be blood. The darkness was pierced by a single, low level lightbulb that chased shadows around the room; revealing various occult paraphernalia strewn around in random happenstance (or looks that way to the untrained eye). Balls was shirtless which displayed various runes and glyphs painted all across his body and chained arms. The tarot reader Ariel slowly approached, a huge leather bound book in one hand and some form of trinket in the other. She released one hand and an amulet hung from her fingers, like stringers from a puppet master. Ariel chanted in an unknown language directly from the book as the talisman started to flash. Balls slowly lifted his head, eyes becoming more perceivable as they started to glow red, matching the now glowing amulet. Ariel spoke softly, but with a deadly menace in her voice. "You have known pain, blood, violence. You have committed crimes against others as well as yourself. Your body has been moulded into the perfect vessel. Hush now, hush. Your work is done." Balls let out a heavy sigh as she stroked his face kindly, until she suddenly slapped him. "I call you forth by your forbidden name. I return you to the world a servant to my will. So sayeth the Spirits, so it shall come to pass. Cast out your past and your future, it now belongs to me. Arise once again, I summon you: The Mad Monk Who Walks The Realm Once More." Balls let out a scream - not one of pain, but something much worse. He started to breathe heavily as Ariel wore the talisman, it giving off a faint glow. Ariel stroked the former Mahoney's face once more as he let out a deranged chuckle. "Mistress… I see you clearly again…"
Main Event - WWE Championship Match: Special Enforcer: Sabu Edge © w/Lita Vs Rob Van Dam In a bid to ensure there would be a fair outcome, and his main event not tainted by another appearance of The Big Show, Paul Heyman appointed Sabu as the special Enforcer for the match. No matter what happens, no one was to interfere, and a winner would be decided. While Big Show was banned from the building, Heyman was trusting in his homicidal insurance policy - it was a big deal that the third ever episode of ECW on Sci-Fi featured a WWE Championship match. Rob Van Dam was focused and energized - he'd been screwed out of his world title, and he'd do anything to recapture it. But everyone knew The Rated R Superstar Edge had a plan to walk out of ECW still champion.
Lita interjected throughout the match several times, leading to Sabu duct taping her hands around the ring post to stop her! Sabu also placed a strip of tape across her mouth to stop the shrieks of protest. While this may have caused a problem for Edge, the ultimate opportunist had other tricks up his sleeve. While RVD built momentum, Edge managed to turn the tide with a well timed low blow, then signaled to the back. The Basham Brothers ran down to the ring - both being cut off by Sabu. Like a guard dog, Sabu pounced quick and brawled with the two men - while RVD capitalized on Edge's apparent mistake. But with Sabu distracted while fending off The Bashams, he did not detect Big Show in the crowd! Big Show did not directly interfere, but instead tossed a steel chair to Edge - who blindsided the unwitting challenger! Edge managed to retain his title, free Lita and escape through the crowd - Big Show blocking the path of Sabu who started to give chase! While Heyman attended to Rob Van Dam in the ring, Sabu and Big Show brawled in the middle of the crowd as another chaotic episode of ECW came to an end!
Announced For Next Week: >>Paul Heyman has an announcement that will shake ECW to its core! >>Sabu will face off against Kurt Angle in the main event! >>Big Show will be in active competition, however Rob Van Dam will also be in the building! >>Tommy Dreamer will take on The Crimson Command's Test! >>Kelly will be in attendance as she accompanies Rene Dupree for his match against The Prince Of Punk Shannon Moore! >>Plus appearances from Ariel, Thorn, The Sandman, The FBI and more!
