July 2004, Week 4July 26th, 2004Worldwide taping: Worldwide wasn’t held this week because someone forgot to change the schedule again after the PPV. Almost as if it had been six months between shows or something! Attendance: 15,000Show Notes: -Before the show Chris Jericho worked on selling with both Kevin Steen and El Generico, while Steven Regal went over microphone work with Bryan Danielson and gave Rampage Brown some tips on how to play a babyface more effectively.
“Colt’s a genius on the mic, and I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend.” –CM Punk
“I think Punk’s onto something. Cabana has what it takes.” –The Enigma
July 31st, 2004Grand Prix B Block Current Standings:Devil Masami: 2 pts (1-0) Manami Toyota: 2 pts (1-0) Melissa Anderson: 2 pts (1-0) Aja Kong: 0 pts (0-1) Daffney: 0 pts (0-1) Etsuko Mita: 0 pts (0-1) Upcoming WCW PPV Event(s): News Updates:-Meiko Satomura has bulked up, but it’s all muscle. She’s taking her role as the current face of Renaissance very seriously, and it’s nice to see. Elsewhere in the wrestling world:-New Japan has risen back up to National status in the Observer once again. Hopefully they can stay there this time with Simon Inoki at the helm. -Brian Adams landed awkwardly working a tag match in Zero-One, and reports are a knee injury will keep him out of action for up to a year. -All Japan held their King’s Road PPV on July 29th, and it was headlined by Toshiaki Kawada and Taiyo Kea beating Mike Rotundo and Hiroshi Hase for the vacant Unified Tag Team titles in an excellent 92-rated match that definitely deserved to main event. The show as a whole got an 80 grade, which was slightly down from last month’s Super Power Series but still good enough to be their second best PPV of the year so far. -NOAH’s First Navigation 2004 event sold out the Osaka Jo Castle Hall in front of 16,000 people. The main event saw Misawa and Ogawa defeat the team of Sasaki and Ricky Marvin in an 89 rated match that narrowly outdid the 88 rated opener of Candido and Akiyama over Tanaka and Super J for MOTN honors. The show did an 87, which was not one of their better recent big shows. -Apparently Jim Cornette and Mima Shimoda got into a big argument at a recent TV taping for WWE. I can only imagine the language Cornette used to describe her.
At the end of this month, 16 year old Kazuchika Okada entered the game world. I swear the game is trying to tempt me into sticking around! Pretty sure I’ll be wrapping up with Starrcade though, if I can get there. I’ll be leaving TEW behind at that point no matter what, and I feel like the amount of effort it would take to turn this save game into a database that would work well in an entirely new game probably wouldn’t be worth the investment.

But I really want this to continue past Starrcade.
