AEW Revolution
January 17, 2010
Location: Uptown Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC
Attendance: 500 (SELL OUT!)
PPV Buyrate: 0.92
Opening video that should be narrated by Paul Heyman, featuring brief clips from the history of TNA/AEW showcasing a blend of legends who have wrestled for the company (Ken Shamrock, Jeff Jarrett, Mick Foley, Sting), the current cast (AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe) and the future (Desmond Wolf, D’Angelo Dinero, The Motor City Machine Guns) with it ending with Heyman saying “get read for the Revolution”
AEW World Tag Team Championship
After the match while The Motor City Machine Guns will be celebrating when the music will play and The Band will come out with Kevin Nash having the Feast or Fired briefcase and announcing that Nash and Hall will be using their shot at the Tag Team titles at AEW Blood & Guts in February.
AEW X-Division Championship -vs-
-vs-
After the match Wolfe should be very upset with losing and attack Hardy from behind, which will then be broken up by road agents. With Wolfe now on the outside he will stop to complain at the commentary table.
AEW Women's Championship
An angry Eric Young stands with the World Elite and says that while he respects Kevin Nash, they will not be getting the first shot at the AEW World Tag Team titles as The British Invasion are cashing in on their rematch in two weeks on Dynamite, and as for Raijin, Young is going to give him ONE last chance to prove himself….or else…..
-vs-
After the match Raven and Dr. Stevie will command Rhino and Holly to do more damage, which Holly should look reluctant to get involved in, but finally will. At this point Team 3D will run out to make the save with steel chairs, and will then help Abyss climb to his feet.
In a rare PPV backstage interview Taz will be with Sting who will hype up AEW, hype up the Revolution, and while say that he has a great deal of respect for Joe and that win, lose, or draw when the match was over Sting was going to show that respect by shaking Joe’s hand.
-vs-
Post-match Sting should be good to his word and offer the handshake, which Joe should consider, before slowly backing up and exiting the ring leaving Sting hanging. But he thought about it!
AEW World Championship -vs-
After the match Ric Flair should get into the ring with the AEW World Championship belt and he will personally strap it to Styles waist, before raising his arm into the air! There will be fireworks and graffiti, while Ranallo and Callis will put over what a big deal tonight was and how the future looks bright with Styles as AEW Champion before signing off, but just as they are wrapping out Samoa Joe should walk out holding his “Feast or Fired” World title briefcase.

Rememberin' Rasslin' Round the World: January 2010 This month will be remembered for relationships, some good...most bad. With the birth of Evolve it started to come into focus how the development company for AEW was going to work with certain companies well. This includes DragonGate, both in the Japan and the USA as they developed friendly attitudes towards each other. On the other end of the spectrum, and perhaps fulled by the reinvigorated relationship with AEW, NJPW ended their talent trading agreement with JAPW which resulted in the a souring of their relationship. NJPW also ended their agreement with ROH to accept wrestlers from ROH on excursion, which didn't seem to have an effect on their relationship yet but it may result in ROH wrestlers needing to find a different place to try and work some different styles to grow. Finally, with their aim to take over as the most dominant company in Japan, NJPW has ended their agreement with Pro Wrestling NOAH to not steal workers from them, which resulted in NOAH declaring a hostile attitude towards NJPW in response! Other news saw the NWA getting another shot at things as they agreed to a deal with Mav TV to get their events on air, which saw them go out and sign a bunch of wrestlers famous from the 90s and 00s (Booker T, Shane Douglas, Rikishi, Nelson Frazier Jr, Shawn Daivari) and surprisingly they even got Tony Schiavone to agree to come back to the wrestling business as their voice! That is something to watch because it is great to see Tony back in the business, and for him to be back with the NWA of all promotions.... The biggest news of the month may have come in the last week as it was announced that Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley will be taking some time away from WWE as she and her husband are expecting their third child. It was the 2010 Royal Rumble and John Cena won (I was as shocked as I am sure you are), CM Punk turned babyface, The Undertaker defeated HHH by DQ in a match for the World Heavyweight Championship in a GREAT match (91) and Seamus retained the WWE Championship by defeating Batista, Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton in a bit of a shocker.....but ECW lost its slow on SyFy so it will be interesting to see what happens with the third brand in WWE going forward.
