In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn’t have much heat, Fire and Ice defeated The State Patrol in 6:04 when they defeated Lt. James Earl Wright by pinfall with a Flashback followed by a Train Wreck.

Interview w/ Fire and Ice

After the match, Fire and Ice is interviewed by Tony Schiavone. Ice Train and Scott Norton assure Colonel Parker and the Miracle Violence Connection that at Slamboree it will be their last shot at the titles. Teddy Long says that the Parker’s boys just don’t get it and Fire and Ice will not lose the straps.

They were super crisp and fast, and Booker was especially brutal while calling out Ice Train and Scott Norton through the camera.

In an extremely short match, Miracle Violence Connection defeated Pez Whatley and Sledgehammer McGill in 4:59 when Steve Williams defeated Sledgehammer McGill by pinfall with a Tag Neckbreaker Bomb.

Ice Train and Scott “Flash” Norton attempted to come ringside, but were prevented by doing so by security.

After the match, Eric Bischoff talks to Col. Robert Parker, Steve Williams and Terry Gordy. Parker says he isn’t worried about who wins the BattleBowl because Steve Williams and Terry Gordy is going to win the WCW World Tag Team titles. After Slamboree Parker is going to change Ice Train’s name to being a “beaten up young boy”.

“Dr. Death” Steve Williams and Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy known as Miracle Violence Connection is a established top team that previously have won the WCW World Tag Team titles as well as dominating and winning tag team titles in Japan. Miracle Violence Connection are are looking to end Fire and Ice once and for all by winning the titles at Slamboree.

Col. Parker puffs his Cuban cigar and looks like a rooster in a hen house, while Harley Race says that there is no way that Randy Savage stand a chance in the match versus Vader.

The ultimate monster tag team known as “Big, Bad, and Dangerous” is steamrolling over everyone looking unstoppable. With their hard-hitting offense they are the most dominant tag team in WCW.

Vader is giving “Macho Man” Randy Savage a warning. He suggests that Savage not show up to Slamboree, because there ain’t no brakes on the “Pain Train”.

Colonel Parker says that The Stud Stable is a Elite stable full of badass wrestlers. The Stud Stable will rule the World by kicking the asses of anyone who gets in their way. Their reputation as a badass is considered “Off The Scale”.

Lanny says that his brother will win the WCW World Heavyweight title at Slamboree and then come for “The Nature Boy” to once and for all decide “Who’s the Man in WCW!”

WCW’s Craig Pittman became the first wrestler from one of the major American promotions to take part in a shootfighting tournament, participating in a show in Japan and losing in the semi-finals in a controversial decision. The rules are slightly different than UFC and the match took place in a wrestling ring. Eric Bischoff’s idea was for Pittman to have a strong showing in hopes that it would impress UFC enough to invite him to participate in the next UFC show.

Rob Van Dam championship win! Pro Wrestling America saw a title change, as Shane Douglas lost the PWA Heavyweight championship to Rob Van Dam. This victory marks his first reign with the title. Shane Douglas managed sixteen successful title defences prior to this defeat.

Razor Ramon faced Jeff Jarrett in a dark match with Jarrett’s manager The Roadie hanging above the ring in a cage at the latest Raw taping. After the match, they put Jarrett in the cage with The Roadie and then, as a rib, left both guys hanging up there for the next few matches.

Koji Kanemoto began his first reign as IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion, when he took the title away from El Samurai at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku. El Samurai managed five successful title defences prior to this defeat.

WCW is planning to send hyped rookie Paul Wight down to USWA for seasoning.

Bulked up Barry Windham! The new, more-muscular physique of WWF star Barry Windham has been a topic of conversation amongst some wrestling fans. Apparently the result of a “pretty intense” weight-training regime, he has definetely bulked-up considerably and is now considered a Heavyweighter.

Nailz has reached an out-of-court settlement with WWF, stemming from the incident in 1992 when Nailz attacked Vince McMahon and then both sides sued each other. The agreement basically comes down to both sides dropping their cases and no money exchanging hands, but allowing Nailz to use that name when wrestling elsewhere.

In his weekly Calgary Sun newspaper column, Bret Hart wrote about the retirement of Joe Montana and managed to get some digs in on Ric Flair and Bob Backlund, writing: “I was sad to see the end of the career of one of the truly great players of this or any other era–perhaps the best there is, the best there was or the best there ever will be. At the same time, I was happy to see Montana go out on his terms–at the top of his game, not crippled or dismembered, with class and no regrets.
