“It’s the RRRRRRRRROYALLLL RRRRRRRUMMMBLLLLLLLE!”
- The “CVX” tag is a Coliseum Video Exclusive. I booked those all as minor angles, as they wouldn't be on the actual live show.
- Jim Neidhart was visibly tired toward the end of his match.
- Jamison was portrayed by paying for a local celebrity (which is basically what he was); he won't be back.
- Bushwhacker Luke was kept strong so he wouldn’t complain at losing.
- Animal was kept strong so he wouldn’t complain at losing.
- Big John Studd debuted with a Giant (Brute) gimmick was rated Above Average.
- Big John Studd replaced Marty Jannetty; Haku replaced Brian Knobbs; Nikolai Volkoff replaced Randy Savage
- The final four were Jake Roberts, Sid Justice, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair; Hogan had most eliminations and Flair was in the longest.
- Hulk Hogan needed to be kept strong, protected, and made to look dominant so he would agree to not win the Royal Rumble; Ric Flair and Roddy Piper also had complaints, but weren’t given any special concessions like Hogan.
- Animal had steroids in his system; he was given a slap on the wrist, making Hawk happy.
- Big John Studd had steroids in his system; he was given a slap on the wrist, nothing noteworthy resulted.
- At a post-show speech, Hogan was praised, Piper was complimented, and Flair was encouraged. They all seemed pleased.
- Shawn Michaels: “Chris Walker is really clumsy, you better get rid of him before he hurts someone.”
- Tony Garea: “Tatanka is going to be a star, you best push him hard.”
- Pat Patterson: “Jacques Rougeau has a lot of charisma, a lot of upside.”
- Ric Flair: “Jerry Sags couldn't wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag, you don't need that kind of stunt show around.”
- Hulk Hogan: “Virgil just doesn't have it, brother, either get him back out of the ring or get rid of him.”
- PPV Buyrate: 0.32; TV Rating: 0.23

Thank the lord.
Interesting rumble! I guess I should have stuck with my gut and went with Jake as the new champ. I'm interested to see where Flair goes now - it seems the Undertaker is a worthy candidate (but not if he's going to be kept as a heel). A Warrior return? Piper for IC gold? I'm excited to find out!

- I did not run predictions for this show because so little of the card had been promoted ahead of time, and on top of that there was a huge change to the main event, which I have more to say about later in these very notes.
Scott Steiner, Mr. Hughes, and Ron Simmons shouldn't have been trying to call their matches in the ring.
- Cactus Jack and Van Hammer's match was booked as "mayhem" and the overbooking didn't sit well with the crowd while also holding Cactus back. Hammer was slowed by his injury.
- Thomas Rich wrestled while on drugs again; he was fined again, and again he improved his behavior, happy to not be let slide.
- Jimmy Garvin was drunk in the ring. He was fined; nothing noteworthy resulted.
- Jesse Ventura debuts with a Cocky gimmick, which rates as Average
- Vincent Vegas comes in with a Conman gimmick, which rated as Very Good. I couldn't fit all of this in one sentence, so I can explain how here. His story is that he bought the York Foundation and immediately sold all the assets it had in order to triple his money, but he retained the contracts of York, Morton, and Rich to be his new "employees" at the Vincent Vegas Foundation, or VVF.
- Rick Rude and Steve Austin showed excellent chemistry as a team, which makes me a little sad that the original main event with them against Sting and Steamboat didn't get to happen.
- Surprise! Lex Luger showed up to lose the World title! I had actually cut his starting absence out, as he was advertised to appear at this Clash. The injury to Ricky Steamboat meant I needed to get creative with the main event... and my choice was practically made for me when Lex decided he was so unhappy that he was handing in a notice, cutting his contract down to only 14 days remaining instead of 2 months. But what does that mean for SuperBrawl's main event, I hear you dear readers asking; well for that, you will just have to wait and find out.
- Sting, Cactus Jack, and Barry Windham were all complimented on their performances, they all seemed pleased.
- Rating on TBS: 2.52

- At World Championship Wrestling, Paul E. pulled a tasteless rib on the locker room, Dusty gave him a slap on the wrist over it. (His personality grows worse.)
- After Main Event, Tommy Rich was fined for wrestling while stoned. He remains very happy and improves his behavior each time.
- Ratings: Pro Wrestling (0.1); World Wide Wrestling (0.17); Power Hour (0.1) World Championship Wrestling (2.15); Main Event (0.19)

I really like what you do with the little post-match angles to explain finishes. I'm totally stealing that!

I really like what you do with the little post-match angles to explain finishes. I'm totally stealing that! I think I stole it from crackerjack to begin with Fine! Then I'll steal it from both of you! I'm happy to see Jake win the title; that's what I was leaning towards when I was considering doing a diary in this timeframe. At the same time, shame to lose that legendary Flair win. But hey, creating alternate history is why we do this in the first place, right?
