And I can't wait to personally deliver my response to the Intercontinental Champion! He wants me to put my career on the line?! He wants me to risk it all in my return match?! He'll hear what I have to say about that!

I'm looking forward to hearin' what Hogan has to say regarding Lex Luger, it seems there's a theme of the young guys havin' a bone to pick with the older generation.

I suppose we should also inform the folks of home the unfortunate news, Both Rob and Randy here has decided to move on from the WWF broadcasting team and will no longer be joining me at the table after Wrestlemania

That's right, regardless what happens at Wrestlemania, I think I've got more I can contribute to this industry and who knows? Maybe Macho Madness will make a return to the table one day but for now? I've gotta go searchin' for greener pastures!

And as for myself all I can say is, it's been an honor, it's been a blast, but Monday Night Raw is far too crazy even for me Vince, I gotta head on back to my radio show where I KNOW what's gonna happen! BUT I'VE STILL GOT FRONT ROW TICKETS FOR WRESTLEMANIA BABY!

Owen Hart VS. Skinner


 

In a battle of speed and pure athleticism versus brute strength and power, Own and Skinner locked horns in an opening bout which the fans are slowly starting to get used to presenting something "different" than what the WWF is usually known for. The WWF have been using their opening match slots to ease the fans in to the product changes they may have in mind in the future and if they don't feature the raw athletic legitimacy of the likes of Ken Shamrock, they feature these faster, more technical bouts like what we saw with Owen. Owen's technical prowess overcame Skinner and Owen would pick up the win with a Piledriver.

Ken Shamrock VS. Bob Backlund


 

This was easily the most competitive match that Ken Shamrock has had, as Bob Backlund's background in amateur wrestling provided Ken a challenge he had not really faced before. Ken found himself actually spun around and out smarted on a couple of occasions rather than the usual dominating fashion. However, age seemed to beat experience on this occasion and the older athlete just couldn't keep up with the pure, raw energy that eminated from Ken Shamrock and Ken would pick up the win with a set of three, powerful belly to belly suplexes.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mean Gene Okerlund here, joined right now by Macho Man Randy Savage, Randy! Last week you were issued an ultimatum by the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. The WWF fans have been wondering whether or not the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line and last week, Shawn made it clear, he posed an ultimatum which everyone I have talked to agrees would be right of you to reject. You'll get your match against Shawn either way at Wrestlemania but in order to make it a Championship match? Shawn Michaels says you will need to step away from the WWF ENTIRELY if you lose. You r thoughts right now?

You should know by now Gene, that I am a very proud man, I am passionate about what I do, I have ALWAYS BEEN passionate...about what I do, yeah...and sometimes that passion has led me to decisions that others believe to be short sighted, out of character...downright unforgiveable. That might be the case, but unless you've stepped into that ring...unless you've felt the thrill of professional wrestling, you can't understand WHY...I've made the choices I have throughout my career, whether you agreed with them, or stood in disgust against them...every time I did something, I did it because I LOVED what I did...and I wanted to keep doing it. Now? Now I'm presented with a crossroads, the pride in me Gene, THE PASSIONATE WRESTLER IN ME...says to go for it. I am most certainly inclined to take Shawn Michaels up on his little ultimatum, yeah and don;t for one second try to tell me how high the stakes would be if I did it...coz I already know...

Randy, through our years of working together and conducting interviews with one another, I feel I know you better than others in this company and in this industry do. I respect you both as an athlete...and as a wrestler, and whatever choice you make I know there'll be no talking you back from it. But I feel as if I SHOULD let you know. If you decided not to take Shawn up on his offer...and simply wrestle him in a non title match. Nobody would respect you less for it, nobody would judge you for it, nobody would blame you for it, because at the least? It would mean you had future opportunities to wrestle again in the ring after Wrestlemania and I think for the fans? That means far more than you holding Championship gold again

Thank you for the kind words Mean Gene, yeah. I KNOW you mean them with the greatest respect and I know, that you have a special connection with the fans, you are the voice for these fans...and you feel it necessary, as part of your job to let me know what these fans think. You do have one thing wrong though Gene...you say that nobody will judge me if I refuse Shawn's ultimatum, if I just...fight him in a non title match? You say nobody will blame me for it, nobody will lose respect for me for it...well Gene I can think of at least one person who  would...ME. I have not sat there for weeks on end taking that YOUNG PUNKS ABUSE FOR NOTHING MEAN GENE! I HAVE NOT SAT THERE AND LISTENED TO HIM TIME AND TIME AGAIN TELL ME THAT I'M JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH ANY MORE! THAT I'M A JOKE! THAT I'M A CLOWN! ME?! YOU THINK I'M GOING TO REFUSE THAT OFFER BECAUSE MY CAREER WOULD BE ON THE LINE?! YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING! Call it pride if you want...call it selfishness if you must, but Shawn Micahels? You've made this personal, yeah...and if I am going to have to call it a day? I see NO BETTER WAY...to hang up my boots...than to beat you within an inch of your life while I'm doing it! YOU'VE GOT WHAT YOU WANTED SHAWN! I'M COMING FOR THAT INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP! I'M PUTTING MY CAREER ON THE LINE...and you better be ready for the fight of your life my friend...because the cream? Well...You know what the cream does Shawn...I might be older, I might be a little bit more worn down, but you better believe at Wrestlemania YOU WILL FIND OUT...that I am STILL...THE CREAM OF THE CROP! Bam Bam Bigelow VS. Mr. Perfect

 

Mr. Perfect was in for one heck of a challenge before his match at Wrestlemania as he faced the brutish thug that is Bam Bam Bigelow. Bam Bam took no time in taking liberties and using his size and stature to his advantage, providing Mr. Perfect a unique challenge in the fact that Bam Bam could also go tow to toe against Perfect when it came to his athletic prowess. Rather than the usual David and Goliath story that WWF might see in this match, This all came down to experience. Mr. Perfect's wit and knowledge of the game would be what managed to help him overcome the challenging big man, but to write Bam Bam off entirely might be a silly thing after a match like this, big things may lie within his futre. Perfect would win with a flash pinfall victory.

Contract Signing


  

WWF President Jack Tunney would introduce us to the formal proceedings for the contract signing for Wrestlemania, unlike the signing that took place last month. Neither man had words for each other, the atmosphere was silent, tense, you could cut it with a knife as both men shot steely daggers at one another, Bret cradling the WWF Championship against his chest. The challenger was the first to sign, all the while staring down the WWF Champion, then it was Bret. Once both men finished the paperwork. They rose to their feet, the crowd came unglued and the electricity picked up. Yokozuna would reach out his hand in what some would ahave thought as a strange offering of a handshake, but instead what happened was Yoko flinging a handful of salt into the eyes of Bret Hart! Yoko then proceeded to throw the table aside and charge the Hitman, sending him careening to the ground with a huge elbow to the face, followed by a powerful leg drop. Yoko stood triumphantly over the WWF Champion, raising the belt to his eye level...staring at it intently.

Hulk Hogan VS. Damien Demento


 

It was standard Hogan affairs for the Main Event although that did not stop the fans showing their support for the Hulkster, despite Damien's strange and unorthodox stylings Hulkster was able to put the man from the outer reaches of your mind away with his Atomic Leg Drop,

After The Match

 

After the match Hogan would find himself approached by Lex Luger, Luger would enter the ring with a microphone in hand, the two standing opposite each other face to face. Luger made made his proposition clear, reminding the Hulkster it was either now or never in regards to their match at Wrestlemania. Hogan didn't hesitate for a second, giving Luger exactly what he wanted, agreeing to the match at Mania. Luger would respond simply with a smile as Hogan offered his hand, Luger nodded, shaking Hogan's hand in acceptance of the match before pulling Hogan towards him, hoisting him up upon his back and locking him in the Torture rack to bring us out of the show.
